Cassidy Shaw | She/They/He

- ‘I / Me / Myself’ by Will Wood is her song, she listened to it when it came out and obsessed over it. Cass is a certified Will Wood fan and it is a part of their personality.

- Makes jokes about having dropped out of high school, and to this day no one knows if they’ve been joking or not.

- > At times David has believed they aren’t joking simply because of some of the questionable things they get wrong.

- Has wing tattoos on her shoulder blades as an homage to their pet name.

- Got David to teach her how to box and is really passionate about it.

Babe:

Ellis Talbot-Ettore | He/Him

- Has Italian heritage and parallels Ash’s terrible skills in cooking.

- > The two have had little homemade pizza nights and Asher admits that homemade is better than Max’s, but he still orders out a lot for the wings mostly.

- Goes to the gym pretty regularly with the mantra ‘have to work out to be able to carry Asher’. Ellis used to just think this as a joke but after the Inversion he’s really focused on this in a trauma way.

- Wanted to be a firefighter when he was growing up. He had the friendly demeanour and passion, but somewhere along the way he was pushed towards a more scholarly career.

- Is really interested in Venus-Flytraps.

Sweatheart:

Calvin ‘Cal’ | They/He

- Makes Calvin Klein Jokes.

- Has an iron deficiency but forgets to take their pills so they end up crashing a lot of the time. Work at the department does not help with the sleep schedule nor remembering things before or after work.

- > Milo often goes with them to get iron infusions. The department covers most of their health insurance to make sure no one complains about any side effects of how things are run.

- When they were growing up, phasing through things made them throw up due to some sort of motion sickness.

- Has an older sister that begged them not to join the department and whenever the two see each other work is a bitter topic of conversation.

Knight:

Wilson | He/Him

- Does not introduce himself as Wilson, or anything to do with his actual name. He just says ‘my friends call me knight’ and that’s that.

- > Claire and Beth call him Will.

- He has ‘if lost, return to Claire Greene’ sewn into the collar of his shifter clothes and when he shifts the little sash around his back paw (see castle’s post about the shifter clothes) says the same thing.

- Has been defenestrated by Beth once or twice.

- Have had half joking, half completely serious conversations with Evie about enjoying being called ‘puppy’.

- > He will never outright admit it because he knows somehow that Claire and Beth will find out and make fun of him for it.

Ranger:

Ava | She/Her

- Literally no one calls her Ava, it’s nickname after nickname after nickname. Except for Diane, Diane calls her Ava and no one else has that privilege.

- Was in Girl Scouts.

- Her parents forbid her to cut her hair short when she was growing up so when she moved to Glenwood, she cut it all off to a pixie-cut.

- > She runs her hand through her hair when she’s stressed.

Seer:

Mallory ‘Rory’ | They/She

- Rory and Beth confine in each other about having old people names: Bethany and Mallory sound like a lovely pair of grandmothers.

- Is Wasian and learnt how to cut up fruit in those really specific ways as a skill to ‘impress a future suitor’. When Beth found out she may or may not have laughed at them.

- Likes to braid Beth’s hair when they’re in a group setting -> if Beth’s just talking and Seer’s hasn’t got anything to say they just end up putting little braids in Beth’s hair.

- Sometimes their visions bleed into their dreams and when they wake up they can’t tell what was real and what their mind just made up.

- > They have really lucid nightmares.

Moonlight rewatch for millionth time

Episode 8 random thoughts and feelings I had while rewatching again: cause I’m bored and have nothing else to do or watch. And I love this show

Unfortunately Shepherd’s followers would be (and are) a thing in real life. Like I know why people like him get followers but still like why?

I wish we got to explore more of Audrey’s relationship with Beth in later episodes just like “oh I spoke to Audrey the other day…” I’m hoping she was able to recover and finally get the rest she needs

Audrey “I just want to feel safe” followed by Beth immediately taking her to Mick

Again so sad humans are buttholes and torment survivors of heinous crimes like geez what’s wrong with people

Mick’s face after Beth told him she always felt safe after being kidnapped

He looks like he’s about to come clean then decides against it

I know Morgan/Coraline was just testing the waters so to speak to see how Beth and Mick feel about each other but even Lola and now Audrey pick up on the budding romance between them

This is also the second episode in a row that Josh is missing from and when Audrey asks if there’s anything going on between Beth and Mick. Beth gives a cheeky little smile and an eyebrow raise then is like oh yeah Josh when asked about his toothbrush. Again making it obvious to me that the writers always knew Beth and Mick were going to be together (or maybe I just have my shipping goggles on)

I like Beth’s home decor there’s a boho/natural vibe to it.

“Wow me without my checkbook” sassy pants

“I did nothing illegal” uh I’m pretty sure putting people’s address on the internet and suggesting someone “off” then is illegal

I like how Mick uses his pretty privilege from time to time to get people to help him or do something he needs

You now that I think about it I don’t think Father Garza’s name was ever on that list that was sent to Ben Talbot, maybe since he was a priest he was not on the radar but Donnavan Shepherds name was on the list

“That’s Spanish by the way… for keep her out of my stuff”

I like how Mick hesitated to take the machete with him and doesn’t take it but that end biting him in the butt later on

What’s through the gray door Mick?

I also wish we got to see more of his house. Like we know he at least has two bathrooms upstairs as he took a shower in one and Coraline took a shower in a different one in episode 9

36 years since Mick’s last confession which makes that 1971 so he would have been a vampire at that time. I wonder what happened to make him go to confession and also have that be the last time. I’m basing that off the fact that this episode happens in 2007 same time it aired (not exact date but generally around that time)

I wonder what the other papers were in Beth’s file, some looked like filers of some sort

I like how Mick instantly knows that something is wrong just because Beth’s voice sounds off

Adios psycho it wasn’t fun.

Together by the Kin was such a good choice for this scene

I wonder how much money Mick shells out for his loft

"You ever make a sale before, Red? The customers here either buy or trade, so ya gotta be prepared to haggle with this lot."

"I haven't, but I was a school teacher for some time, so I know a thing or two about dealing with stubbornness." Clara reassured Mrs. Maddox.

"Then again, judgin' by the way you've got that Major Tallmadge wrapped around your lil' finger, I think you'll be just fine with these prawns."

Clara grinned, rather pleased with herself.

"How'd you get into his social circle anyway? The man's tightly clinched."

Gaze turning upward to watch Tallmadge disappear into the other side of camp, she shook her head and shrugged, "Just sheer dumb luck I s'pose..."

A few weeks had passed, allowed Clara to find herself a rhythm of work. There were moments were she'd recognize certain things, items and implements that had been preserved and displayed at the Saint Denis chapter of the DAR. As fascinating as it was, it also induced apprehension. The longer she remained there, the less certain she was that she'd ever find her way back.

It made her wonder what had become of those she cared about in the gang. Would Jack be alright? Would Arthur be able to make sure he was? What about John, Mary Beth, Pearson, Tilly, Charles, Karen, and Sadie? As badly as she wanted to pray for their safety, she wondered if it were futile. After all, none of those she cared about had even been born at this point.

Another thing that unsettled her was that the outlaw accent she'd developed over the last couple years was starting to fade back into that of the southern belle she used to be, though she supposed that mattered very little considering it was still fairly unrecognizable in this era. The only difference was she sounded as educated as she actually was.

To distract herself from all these things, Clara had spent time befriending the many women who worked around camp, making a mental note of those she thought might suffice best for Major Tallmadge. With the number of red flags some of them possessed, it was easy to weed out the candidates with potential from the ones that would surely gobble him up sooner than he could greet them.

Major Tallmadge had mentioned a ball that Washington and a select few of his officers would attend in Philadelphia, so she was determined to find him the right one before that time. A challenge that would keep her occupied.

"Maria Brown is a sweet thing," she said to him one day, while he pretended to peruse the cart, permitting them to speak more candidly sans suspicion. Any time she named a new girl, she would glance in their general direction so that Tallmadge could sneak a peak.

"Maria he comes from a good family who raises cattle and she loves to read. Then there's Esther Simmons. She has a habit of letting the occasional profanity slip, and she's illiterate, but hell, she's clever and resourceful. Blonde curls too."

She watched him for any sort of reaction, wondering if he had a preference outside of Mrs. Maddox's teasing that he liked redheads.

"Diana Talbot is a widow of a Continental officer. He died at Saratoga and she chose to stick out the rest of the war here in his honor. She's quiet, but witty when she decides to speak up."

“Relax, Major, I’m teasing you,” Clara said. Her hand slapped his back and he jerked upright. “Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to emphasize your largest asset… Your brain.” 

Torn between embarrassment and disbelief, Benjamin scoffed, not finding the humor in her jest. "I'd like to know where this good cheer was before you stabbed me," he muttered. "Still, I do appreciate what you're doing for me...as unorthodox as it may seem."

"What's this then?" Cilla asked, folding a blanket and looking between them. "I thought those calfskin breeches o' yours already did a mighty fine job of accentuatin'. What do you need her for?" Cackling, she started re-adjusting the inventory along the table. "I never thought I'd see the day when Major Boremadge started feelin' 'round for somethin' other than rum and whiskey." She shrugged. "Then again, who needs a stiff drink when you've got a nice, stiff-"

"That's enough, thank you," Benjamin said, flushing up to the tips of his ears. Bowing to them, he said, "I'll take my leave. I can stop by later in the evening to check on your progress."

As he stalked off toward headquarters, his gait tense and ramrod straight, Cilla quipped, "Ya sure his brain is his largest asset? The girls 'round here certainly won't care beyond makin' babies." chatsworth house is an iconic house where many people often visit, it is full of amazing interiors and history. The house holds major collections that include paintings, furniture, old master drawings, neoclassical sculptures and books. The garden receives approximately 300,000 visitors per year, the gardens are vast and one could spend an entire day just admiring them as their are about 20 full time gardeners.

Chatsworth has appeared in a number of films and television shows and documentaries such as Pride and Prejudice, The duchess, The wolf man and certain scenes in BBC gangster series pesky blinders are just some examples.

The history of Chatsworth House is very well known it all started in the 16th century with Elizabeth Talbot Countess of Shrewsbury better known as Bess of Hardwick who grew to become the second most powerful woman in Elizabethan England after the Queen. She married four times, Sir William Cavendish was her second husband, when he married Bess in 1547 she persuaded him to sell the former monastic lands he had amassed and move to her home country. They bought the chatsworth manor for £600 in 1549 and began to build the first house on site in 1552 , the hunting tower, built in 1580s still stands on the hill above chatsworth. After Sir William died in 1557 Beth remarried 2 more times. Queen Elizabeth appointed Shrewsbury as custodian of Mary queen of Scot’s who was a prisoner in chatsworth at various times between 1569 and 1584. Her lodgings were on the east side of the house where the rooms although changed beyond recognition we still called the Queen of Scots apartments. Bess also built Hardwick hall a surviving masterpiece one of the greatest houses of Elizabethan age.

Elizabeth Countess of Shrewsbury

In the 17th Century, William Cavendish was the second and favourite son of Bess of Hardwick, and became her heir in her death in 1608 he inherited a fast fortune of several important properties, Although chatsworth was inherited by her eldest son Henry its contents were left to William. He managed his estates carefully and purchased more land and also invested in various overseas trading companies. William married Anne Keighley and they had three sons and one daughter, after Anne’s death he had one further son with his second wife. He died on 3rd march 1626.

By the 1680s Chatsworth had fallen into poor repair state and the 4th Earle began some much needed work in the old house. The new Chatsworth was finished just before the duke died in 1707.

In the 18th century, Lancelot 'Capability' Brown landscaped the estate and the 5th Duke married Lady Georgiana Spencer.

William Cavendish 2nd Duke of Devonshire (1673-1729)

The 2nd Duke made no changes to the house and garden that his father had created at Chatsworth. He was however a connoisseur of the arts, and was responsible for the formation of an outstanding collection which included paintings, Old Master drawings and prints, ancient coins and carved Greek and Roman gems.

William Cavendish, 4th Duke of Devonshire (1720-1764)

At Chatsworth the 4th Duke made great changes to the park and garden. Having decided that the house should be approached from the west, he pulled down the old stables and offices which interrupted with the view on this side, and razed the cottages of Edensor village which were visible from the house. The architect James Paine (c.1716-1789) was commissioned to build new stables, and he also designed a new bridge upstream of the house. Land to the west of the river, including what remained of Edensor village, was enclosed to become the park as it is today. Lancelot (Capability) Brown (1716-1783) was commissioned to replace the 1st Duke's formal garden and park with the natural, romantic look which he had helped bring into fashion.

Buried by the Ashes

Pairing: Beth, Liam, Bastien

Summary: Battered and broken and left behind Beth Talbot has a choice to make.

A/N: This came into my head and won't leave me alone. This is dark people. I tried to gloss over as much as I could but, it's still dark. This isn't our Liam, so please keep that in mind. Thanks to @mrsnazario1223 for giving me the courage to write and post this.

Beth felt hurt and betrayed when Liam chose Madeline instead of her, had the moment in the hedge maze been all a lie? He told her he loved her, she believed him, but then he wanted more, and she couldn’t give it to him. He wore a look she didn’t recognize when she told him no, but how could she explain she couldn’t, not after… no that wasn’t something she’d allow herself to think about. All it did was bring her pain.

She was dragged out of the ballroom because of a lie, a hurtful embellishment of the truth making her look like she was complicit in what had happened. She wept as she packed her bags Bastien standing by her being the ever diligent guard. He guided her to the waiting car with a gentle hand, one that didn’t make her want to jump away. He helped her in and he looked at her with such kindness and understanding she wondered if he could possibly know the truth.

His orders were to send her back to New York, but he couldn’t, he knew there was more to those pictures, but he needed her to stay to prove it. He sent her to the Beaumont estate instead, he knew the Beaumont brothers would keep her safe. He would check on her periodically and ensure she was alright, she had such fear on her face when the guards removed her from the ballroom, he wondered…. No not her, he made sure he wasn’t overbearing when dealing with her, letting her know she was in charge. The fear was no longer in her eyes as he sent her off to somewhere he knew she’d remain safe, the sadness remained but he also saw hope.

Beth was surprised the first time Bastien had showed up at the Beaumont estate, she wondered if Liam had sent him to make sure she was ok, maybe Liam hadn’t lied to her. The more time she spent with Bastien the more she felt safe and comfortable with him, she felt maybe he was someone she could trust. The days she spent with Bastien she felt safe and freer, but at night when she was alone in her bed with her thoughts she sank back into the dark place.

She had been all alone, no one could hear her cries, her pleas for him to stop. She had kicked and clawed at him, trying anyway that she could to get him off of her, she screamed and shouted into an empty void. When he finally left her alone in her room, she hugged her knees to her chest, she wondered what she had done to make him think she wanted him. She wondered if she had done something to lead him on, if she did something to deserve it. She cried herself to sleep, she still cries herself to sleep every night. The worst was the night of the coronation, someone had taken pictures, they made it look like she wanted it, Tariq had fled the day after. She needed to prove that this was done to her.

When Maxwell and Bertrand arrived back at the estate Bertrand was fuming that she would even think of coming back there, telling her she should go back home. She cried so hard, couldn’t he see that it wasn’t what it looked like? It was when Bertrand had stormed off that Maxwell had finally spoke, all he wanted to know was why she had done it to Liam. She finally had no choice but to tell someone, she told him what happened that night, he looked at the photos again and he finally could see the truth in the photos. Maxwell had explained to Bertrand who was now determined to find Tariq and get him to tell the truth of what he had done to Beth. She wasn’t sure if she was ready for the world to know, but she needed Tariq needed to admit to his wrongdoing.

Three days before they were to return to court she finally had the nerve and felt she could trust him, she told Bastien. The anger that filled his eyes should have scared her, but it didn’t. Bastien had been furious when Beth told him the truth behind the photos. He had thought they seemed to be a little off and he started to look into them, but he never thought that someone would use photos of something so horrific to keep her from marrying Liam. He vowed to ensure no one would ever hurt her again, he was realizing that he was no longer coming to simply ensure she was safe, he felt comfortable when he spent time with her. For her, for his own peace of mind he’d make sure nothing bad ever happened to her again.

When Beth had returned to court she had expected Liam’s eyes to be filled with sorrow after Bastien told him the truth, instead she was met with a mixture of shock and anger. Surely he believed Bastien when he told him the truth behind those photos. She felt her heart break and sadness pull her back deep into its depths at the look she received from Liam. She once again started to doubt his sincerity, but she couldn’t leave, she needed to find out who set her up and make them pay.

Liam had just wanted one last fling, he never expected Maxwell to fly her back to Cordonia to compete in the social season. He never expected Beth to wow everyone, the press, the people even his own father. Everyone was pushing him to chose the mysterious girl from New York, but in truth he didn’t want Beth. He had his eyes on someone he knew would make a good Queen for Cordonia, he knew Beth could maybe figure things out, but the chances were she couldn’t. He knew it was wrong, but he knew he had to do something to ensure she couldn’t be chosen. He hadn’t counted on her sticking around trying to clear her name, and he hadn’t counted on her having help.

She looked so sad and broken, wondering what she had done to deserve such treatment, she wanted to get to the bottom of things. He knew he needed to stop her from uncovering the truth, his plan would only work if no one knew it was him. He would continue to do whatever it took to keep his country safe and keep her from finding out the truth, even continuing to play the part.

Moonlight rewatch part idk? I’ve rewatched this show a lot lol

Episode 1 random thoughts and feelings I had while rewatching again: cause I’m bored and have nothing else to do or watch. And I love this show

I wish they were able to go into the why and where we get the old wives tales of vampires being repelled by holy water and crucifixes and garlic etc. Did vampires evolve like humans did over time and those were some of their weaknesses or was someone lucky and their crucifix had silver on it or something? And they just assumed that since vampires are “unholy” creatures that they must be repelled by the cross

Also also did vampires used to sleep in coffins before the invention of the freezer because what were vampires doing prior to the 20th century when there was no freezer?

Mick “there’s no such thing as vampires” me “hey that’s the name of the episode”

I liked Steve (the camera guy) and Beth’s friendship. I wonder what happened to him he just disappeared mid-seasonish

With sunlight being one of their weaknesses Mick and Josef sure do have a lot of windows at their home. I’m assuming that Josef’s first scene was at his home since it’s a completely different location than his office

I was always (and still am) curious about how a vampire recruits a “freshie” because I don’t know about you but if some guy I was interested told me he was a vampire and he wants to drink my blood I’d probably just laugh and be like oh okay 😉 🤣

I wonder if Mick’s blood type is A+ and that’s why he prefers that blood over others like when your body craves a certain nutrient that you’re lacking and you eat salty foods or more iron rich foods or whatever to help pick up where your body is lacking.

I always thought Christian Ellis was weird even as a tween. Idk how this man was able to get so many smart pretty women to fall for his crap

I like the subtle detail of Mick sniffing the mask, a nice little mix foreshadowing and red herring for the later part of the episode

Funny how Josef wasn’t a fan of Beth at the beginning (or rather just the first episode) then towards the end of the season they plan a murder together

It’s ironic how Steve’s joking with Beth and says he wants to make sure she’s protected when she goes into the “vampires den” and she says she’ll be fine and that’s literally after she just back from another vampires den and was perfectly fine but when she goes to the fake vampires den she isn’t alright

I think this episode was what kick started my love for Evanescences’ “my immortal” I think I listened to that song on repeat for a whole month after this episode

Was that kid Daniel ever arrested or did Mick actually kill him? In the next episode Beth thanks Mick for saving her but I don’t think they ever explicitly state what happened to the kid and in second to last episode ADA Talbot mentions “demented college students” but that’s the extent of it
