Lil habit Headcanons

Alphas love wearing socks. They’re naturally quite cold, so socks help keep the warmth within.

Omegas naturally will try to make their hair look a bit shaggy. Just because it makes their heads feel cooler as omegas are naturally warm

Because of Betas’ sensitivity to smell, they scrunch their noises often, especially to newer smells

Alphas are very good at climbing trees due to their need to scent above spaces

Omegas are actually the best swimmers out of the dynamics and many are inclined to water!

Betas have a knack for walking for hours and hours without needing to stop

Omegas talk with their hands a lot

Alphas nose a lot of things, even more so than Betas and their whole thing is their noses!

Alphas are natrually docile at times of rest and in this state they usually will be like a golden retriever

Pups blow their cheeks up natrually to try and appear more threatening

Betas teeth are the most sensitive and so you’ll often see them taking more careful bites than the other dynamics

Omegas are more often likely to chirp and call at random things because it’s easier than talking

Alphas feet are quite heavy when they walk and many are self conscious about that

Pups whenever they rub noses with individuals (nose tapping) will often remember the distinct motion of that person. This is because of paternal/maternal bonding

There is not discussion nor fanfiction about the negative affects of being considered the "forgettable gender" has on betas in the omegaverse. I see so many discussions on how omegas are oppressed, how they handle it, and ways they over come it, and talks about how alpha often have to deal with the constant fear and distrust they face, but what about the betas?!

Imagine having society constantly rely on you to keep things running (going off the headcannon that they don't experience heats or ruts) only to be ignored and looked over. You are never wanted by omegas or alphas and this is even worse for female betas. Male betas and alphas are always talking about omegas and giving them gifts and attention while they have to sit there and smiling. And then having to listen to omegas complain about the attention. The betas understand the issues that omegas face but at the same time they get no attention or love. Its gotta be heart breaking.

For male betas they are in constant competition with alphas even if they will never be acknowledged. Even if they manage to be really good at something, even better than alphas, it wont matter. Why are you trying so hard you're not an alpha. They are bigger, stronger, and smarter than you, just let them do it.

To be a beta is to be the some of the most important unnecessary members of society. I haven't even gotten into other popular headcanons like the low fertility. I just think there could be so much more exploration to betas, and I might just have to do it myself.

I’m starting to get back in Whump again and since Betas are always on my mind it’s got me thiking. Betas in whump situations. Especially sick fics, Betas are forgotten and seen as less important in the Omega Vers so them putting everything but themselves first even when sick is sooooo good. Like imagine a Beta being sick at work like high fever sick, and they’re just like” I can make it though, stop being dramatic, it’s not that bad” but sometime in the day they end up passing out somewhere where nobody can see them and they wake up and hour or so later, and no one has noticed that they where gone. Feeling worse and they really need to go home but they don’t want people to think that they are doing it for attention so they stick it out for the rest of the day and just continue to feel worse and worse.

alpha command — also referred to as the alpha voice. a deep, rumbling tone that triggers obedience & submission in those who hear it. it’s most effective on pack & those who already respect the alpha as an authority figure—but some particularly dominating people are capable of effecting those who don’t know / respect them. commands are also heightened when given after a scruff or submission bite. a command usually sound deep and rumbling; firm and commanding; or low and soothing.

beta scent-shifting — a beta is able to consciously (or unconsciously) shift their scent to mimic another’s. they can disguise themselves as an alpha, omega, or another beta—and even mimic a milky pup scent. this is typically used to calm packmates, and also makes them invaluable in the medical field or for calming those in a feral state. there are varying skill levels, with some being able to fool any nose, and others only able to fool those in distress / not thinking clearly.

omega suggestion — also referred to as the omega voice. it incites in people a desire to please, to protect, to make the omega happy. it can also have a relaxing effect. it’s most effective on other pack members, or those with a positive relationship with the omega—though some have particularly powerful voices, & can affect even those they aren’t close with/who actively dislike them. the sound is generally gentle & soothing; soft & crooning; or lyrical & melodious.

what type of beta headcanons?

My main ones are that they are the best at smelling and are the inventors of many scent related things. They like to travel, wandering types and they love things in their hair! Mimicry sounds is what they’re real good at too. More leg strength than upper body but still overall balanced. They poll (type of half faux sneeze when happy) and cocoon!

how do you think will be alphas and omegas noticing how pups who born from betas are mot protective with betas than omegas?

(I also imagined a alpha or omega asking and pup honesto like all kids say that they are like that because betas suffer more and talk a bit about how their mother suffer for be ignored and negcleted even in pregnancy)

They'd definitely be confused at first. By all accounts their going against what is assumed to be their natural instincts.

Their reaction to be told about the neglect would depend on the age and the individual. If the pup is on the younger side their concerns would more than likely be brushed off or be used as an excuse to call child services." They're just pups they don't really know any" or " I'm sure this is just a protective pup phase, they'll grow out of it." will be common thoughts and reactions.

The reactions will start to vary more with the older pups. Especially with the teenagers. They are even more protective than the younger ones. That's when some will get angry. They refuse to see the issues plaguing the beta population and would think that the parent is lying or forcing their child to do this. They are too old fashioned to really think much of betas. Others might start to think on the issue or want to talk to the parent directly. For many they didn't realize how much of an issue there is in the healthcare system towards betas. It would probably start some type of trend where betas can talk about their experiences. The pups would really bring out peoples true colors on their thoughts on betas.

I love the thought of if Betas are ignored in Omega Verse society, like they are easily forgotten and stuff. That they just use it to their benefit like; all top class thieves, detectives, hit men, and assassins are Betas no will notice them walking in-out. It would be hilarious to watch everyone scratch their heads in confusion of how the assassin was able to get pass security and the cameras. When in reality they walked in through the front door and just walked past everyone.

Yes, I love this. Most of the Betas I write about are the most rational people in the stories too. Betas have instincts, pheromones, and maybe a small degree of estrus, but they aren't ruled by them necessarily. At least not every single Beta.

Either way, them being able to virtually move around in a room full of Alphas and Omegas is hilarious.

I just thought of them being at a cocktail party and stealing all the finger foods from people's plates. Everyone confused because they literally had so many quiches now there's one and a half.
