Witchcraft and Activism

The word “witch” is a politically charged label. If we look at how the word was used historically, it referred to someone who existed outside of the normal social order. The people accused of witchcraft in the European and American witch trials were mostly — experts say between 75% and 80% — women. They were also overwhelmingly poor, single, or members of a minority ethnicity and/or religion. In other words, they were people who did not follow their society’s accepted model of womanhood (or, in the case of accused men, manhood).

If you choose to identify with the witch label, you are choosing to identify with subversion of gender norms, resistance to the dominant social order, and “outsider” status. If that makes you uncomfortable or uneasy, then you may want to use another label for your magical practice. Witchcraft always has been and always will be inherently political.

In her book Witches, Sluts, Feminists, Kristen J. Sollee argues that the “slut” label is in many ways a modern equivalent to the “witch” label. In both cases, the label is used to devalue people, most often women, and to enforce a patriarchal and misogynist social order.

Superstitions around witchcraft are connected to the modern stigma around abortion (and, to a lesser extent, contraception). Midwifery and abortion were directly linked to witchcraft in the European witch hunts. Today, women who seek abortions are condemned as sluts, whores, and murderers. The fight for reproductive freedom remains inextricably linked with the witch label.

During the women’s liberation movement of the 1960s, the socialist feminist group Women’s International Terrorist Conspiracy from Hell (W.I.T.C.H.) used the image of the witch to campaign for women’s rights and other social issues. They were some of the first advocates for intersectional feminism (feminist activism that addresses other social issues that overlap with gendered issues). They performed acts such as hexing Wall Street capitalists and wearing black veils to protest bridal fairs. The W.I.T.C.H. Manifesto calls witches the “original guerrillas and resistance fighters against oppression.”

In her book Revolutionary Witchcraft, Sarah Lyons points out that both witchcraft and politics are about raising and directing power in the world. In a postmodern society, most of our reality is socially constructed — it works because we collectively believe it does. Money only has value because we believe it does. Politicians only have power because we believe they do. Our laws are only just because we believe they are. Like in magic, everything in society is a product of belief and a whole lot of willpower — and that makes witches the ideal social activists.

Lyons argues that witchcraft is inseparable from politics, because witches have always opposed dominant political power. She makes a connection between the witch trials and the rise of capitalism and classism. She connects the basic concepts of magic to historic activist groups like the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP), who used ritual as an act of protest.

Not every witch is a hardcore activist, but every witch should have a basic awareness of political and social issues and be willing to do what they can to make a difference.

Ways to Combine Witchcraft and Activism

Perform a ritual to feel connected to the earth and her people. Activism should come from a place of love, not a place of hate. Make sure you’re fighting for the right reasons by frequently taking time to reconnect with the planet and the people who live here. This can be as simple as laying down on the ground outside and meditating on all the ways you are connected to other people, as well as to the ecosystem, animals, and the earth herself. If getting up close and personal with the grass and dirt isn’t your thing, try to find a beautiful place in nature where you can sit and journal about the interconnected nature of all things.

Unlearn your social programming. This is the most difficult and most important part of any activism. Before you can change the world outside yourself, you have to change your own psyche. Think about how you have been socialized to contribute to (or at least turn a blind eye to) the issues you want to fight against. For example, if you want to fight for racial justice, you need to understand how you have contributed to a racist system. You can do this in a variety of ways: through meditation, journaling, or divination, to name a few. Note that whatever method you choose, this will probably take weeks or months of repeated work. Rewriting your thought and behavior patterns is hard, and it can’t be done in a single day. Also note that if you are a victim of systemic oppression or prejudice, this work may bring up a lot of emotional baggage — you may want to involve a professional therapist or counselor.

Go to protests. Sending energy and doing healing rituals is great, but someone has to get out there and visibly fight for change. If you are able to do so, start going to protests and rallies for causes you care about. Don’t just show up, but be an active participant — make signs, yell and chant, and stand your ground if cops show up. Be safe and responsible, but be loud and assertive, too. If you want to go all out, you can don the black robes, pointed hats, and veils of W.I.T.C.H.es past, which has the added bonus of concealing your identity.

Turn your donations into a spell for change. When you donate to a cause you care about, charge your donation with a spell for positive change. You can do this by holding your cash, check, or debit card in both hands and focusing on your desire for change. Feel this desire flowing into the money, filling it with your determination. From here, make your donation, knowing that you’ll be sending an energy boost along with it.

Organize an activist coven. Do you have a handful of friends who are interested in witchcraft, passionate about activism, or both? Start a coven! Go to protests together, hold monthly rituals to raise energy for change, and collect money for donations. Being part of a group also means having a support system, which can help prevent burnout. Make a plan to check on each other regularly. You may even choose to do monthly group rituals for self care, which may be actual magic rituals or might be as simple as ordering takeout and watching a movie. Activism can be intensely draining work, so it’s important to take breaks when you need them!

Hold public rituals with an activist slant. Nothing gets people’s attention like a bunch of folks standing in a circle and chanting. Holding public rituals is one of the best ways to raise awareness for a cause. You might hold a vigil for victims of police brutality, a healing circle for the environment, or some other ritual that is relevant to the issue at hand. These rituals serve a double purpose, as they both bring people’s attention to the issue and give them an opportunity to work for change on a spiritual level. Use prayers, chants, and symbolism that is appropriate to the theme, and ask participants to make a small donation to a charity related to your cause.

Begin your public rituals with a territory acknowledgement. If you live in the United States, chances are you live on land that was taken from the native people by force. If you seek to have a relationship with the land, you need to first acknowledge the original inhabitants and the suffering they endured so you can be there. Use a website like native-land.ca to find out what your land was originally called and what indigenous groups originally lived there. Publicly acknowledge this legacy at your ritual, and publicly state your intention to support indigenous peoples. (Revolutionary Witchcraft has an excellent territory acknowledgement that you can customize for your area.)

Make an altar to your activist ancestors. If activism or membership in a marginalized group is a big part of your life, you may want to create a space for it in your home. Like an ancestor altar, this is a space to remember influential members of the community who have died. Choose a flat surface like a tabletop or shelf and decorate it with photos of your “ancestors,” as well as other appropriate items like flags, pins, stickers, etc. As a queer person, my altar to my LGBTQ+ ancestors might include images of figures like Sappho, Marsha P. Johnson, and Freddie Mercury, as well as items like a pink triangle patch, a small rainbow pride flag, and dried violets and green carnations. You may also choose to include a candle, an incense burner, and/or a small dish for offerings. Just remember to never place images of living people on an altar honoring the dead!

Do your research. Staying educated is an important part of activism — not only do your actions need to be informed, but you need to be able to speak intelligently about your issues. Read the news (on actual news websites, not just social media). Read lots of books; some I personally recommend are Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, Love and Rage by Lama Rod Owens, and (as previously mentioned) Revolutionary Witchcraft by Sarah Lyons. If you can get access to them, read scholarly articles about theories that are influential among activists, like the Gaia Hypothesis or Deep Ecology. Read everything you can get your hands on.

VOTE! And I don’t just mean voting for the presidential candidate you like (or, as is often the case, voting against the one you don’t like). Vote for your representatives. Vote for city council. Vote for the county sheriff. Voting gives you a chance to make sure the people in office will be susceptible to your activism. Yes, your side might lose or your electoral college representative might choose to go against the popular vote. Even so, voting is a way to clearly communicate the will of the people, and it puts a lot of pressure on the people in charge. It’s important — don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

In my experience, combining activism with my witchcraft is a deeply fulfilling spiritual experience. It strengthens my connection to the world around me, with helps grow both empathy and magical power. I truly can’t imagine my practice without the activist element.

2x10: Hunted

Then:

Sam Winchester is a special boy.

Now:

We open with Jess Mariano-lite in therapy, telling his doctor about his ability to electrocute things.

The doctor doesn’t take the bait, but instead continues to dive deeper into why this future serial killer is the way he is. The kid tells the doctor that he doesn’t want to kill, but the Yellow Eyed Man tells him to. He has plans for him. Then a little bit later, he gets gutted by an unseen assailant by the side of his car.

We then pick up with Sam and Dean where we left off in the last episode. Dean confesses to Sam that John told Dean to save Sam or he’ll have to kill him. Sam is all WTF?

The brothers get super pissy with each other over something their FATHER DID. Sam wants to figure it all out --have a plan. Dean thinks they should lay low so he can protect Sam. Dean begs with Sam to give him a little time. Sam agrees.

That night, Sam hijacks a car and heads to an abandoned address. Inside the building, he trips a wire and sets off a grenade. And it’s Goodbye, Sammy!

Actually, Sam was part of someone else’s psychic visions.

And it appears that Sam did ditch Dean. He shows up at the Roadhouse. Ellen isn’t surprised to see him. Sam asks about Jo. She’s gone hunting. Ellen tells Sam that none of this is his fault and that she forgave John Winchester a long time ago.

Anyway, Sam needs Ash’s help locating other people like him.

Ash finds four other people. One person died about a month ago --a stabbing. Sam asks Ellen not to call Dean, and heads to Indiana to get some answers about the dead guy on the list.

Sam interviews Scott’s father. He relays how he changed in the past year --headaches, etc. Sam asks to see Scott’s room. There’s a fair amount of prescription drugs ---and collages of yellow eyes.

Sam then heads back to his motel room, only to be stalked by the woman dreaming about him earlier. She tells him he’s in danger.

She’s freaked out and trying to convince herself more than Sam that she’s not crazy.

Sam tells Ava to calm down and explain the dreams she’s been having. She tells him about the dream she had where he died. Sam is hyped he found another psychic! Ava still thinks she’s crazy and now she knows that Sam is crazy too. YAY.

Ellen calls Dean and won’t give up his location. Lol, not really though and gives Dean a heads up on Sam.

Ava’s done with the crazy and wants to leave. Sam asks if she wants to know the truth. She heads to the psychiatrist that saw Scott before he died. Ava isn’t much of an actor, but it’s enough for Sam to get some info on Scott. Sam and Ava listen to Scott’s files.

Dean pulls into town and immediately finds Sam “The Giraffe” Winchester.

Dean’s excited that Sam’s in a motel room with a LADY. Dean plz. Inside the room, Sam and Ava are getting all hot and bothered (or maybe just bothered) listening to Scott’s description of Yellow Eyes’ nefarious plans on the stolen tapes. These special children will become soldiers.

Suddenly gunshots shatter the motel window. Gordon’s on the opposite rooftop with a sniper rifle! Dean finds Gordon and attacks him but Gordon gets the upper hand.

Later, Sam and Ava investigate the sniper location. Sam tries to play off his intimate knowledge of weaponry by explaining that he’s really into TJ Hooker. Sam plz. You’re a better liar than that!

Sam calls his brother for help. Dean’s held at gunpoint by Gordon, but manages to sneak a code word in during his conversation with Sam. Take me to F U N K Y T O W N, Dean!

Dean tries to talk Gordon out of his methodically sprung hunter’s trap. Gordon explains that Sam Winchester is fair game. A demon let slip the intel about all the special kids in the “coming war.” This is SO early series, because Dean SUPER JUDGES Gordon for the demon vessel’s death. By the back half of season 15, killing vessels barely warrants a line of fleeting regret. Smh. (Yes, this speeds the narrative but I will never. Let. It. Go.) Gordon also reveals that he was the one who killed Scott during the cold open. That’s when you know he is the Bad Guy in the narrative, right? Gordon promises a quick death for Sam.

Sam shoos Ava back to her real life and heads off to save his brother. Gordon set up traps in the house with tripwires attached to explosives.

Dean argues for Sam’s life. Sam is THE BEST and will never become a monster! John Winchester - I mean - Gordon is disappointed in Dean’s emotional response. Gordon pulls out the extremely tired “killing Hitler” analogy in regards to Sam Winchester and then trots out What Would John Winchester Do to round out his argument for why Sam should die. The circle is complete!

Sam sneaks up on the house and spots his gagged and bound brother through the wall. He approaches THE TRAP. There’s an explosion! Dean shouts in agony and then an even larger explosion rocks the house. NOOOOOOOOO!

Gordon checks out the scene and finds a smoking SHOE.

Joke’s on Gordon! Sam chucked his shoes at the tripwires. That boy really does have an unfortunate relationship with shoes. Sam holds Gordon at gunpoint. Then they fight and Sam gets the upper hand and knocks him out. Sam then frees Dean, like, RIDICULOUSLY easily.

Sam urges Dean to just walk away instead of killing Gordon. “Trust me. Gordon’s taken care of.” They leave the house and Gordon follows them out, shooting. Suddenly three cop cars pull up. And I’m sure this show is trying to say that Sam found a nonlethal way to secure Gordon by calling the police, but in the real world this would’ve been a death sentence. It’s a real BAD LOOK for Sam “I’m The Good Guy” Winchester.

Ellen gets an earful from Dean later, while he tries to find out who let slip the intel about Sam and his special demon mojo. The Roadhouse is full of smart hunters - any of them could’ve put together the same facts Gordon had.

Dean encourages Sam to head off to Amsterdam and PAR-TAY, but Sam’s done running. Sam tries to call Ava, but there’s no answer. They head out to check on her, only to find her fiancé dead in their bed and Ava nowhere to be found. There’s sulfur on the windowsill. Thar be demons!

What’s your top 5 fics you enjoyed writing?

ooooooooooh um, I think I’m going to have to do series haha. This aren’t really in order.

1. “Jonsa” Series

This was an unexpected series actually and I LOVE writing angst so the angst of this was SO MUCH FUN.

Trust

The words were spilling from Sansa’s mouth fuelled more by anger than actual concern; it was hard for her to discern where this rage sprang from, it was a sense of betrayal certainly but a betrayal that felt more primal than logical and it compelled her to keep shouting.

“I thought that leaving the North in my care meant that you finally trusted me enough—”

“Do not talk to me about trust,” said Jon, his voice rising. He felt his incredulity swell into anger, anger at her presumption, at her charge that he didn’t trust her, that he didn’t carry her with him wherever he went. “You are the one who isn’t trusting me, Sansa.”

“And how should I trust you? As a king who abandoned his people or as a brother who abandoned his family.”

“You should trust me as a man!” he yelled. He paused. Sansa’s eyes widened imperceptibly and Jon felt a nervousness roil in his gut but he continued speaking.

An Entirely Different Way

“Do you—” she clenched her jaw. “Do you truly believe that I am anywhere near ready to be married again?”

He shook his head frantically. “I’m sorry.”

Sansa didn’t look fragile, she looked hardened, like she walled herself in, the coldness that only seemed to dissipate in his presence cocooned her again and Jon knew he would stab himself in the gut if it would make any difference to her.

“Sansa.”

He rushed up to her and took her hands in his. “I am sorry. I spoke without thinking,” he said desperately. He held onto her tighter. “Sansa, please forgive me.” He pressed his forehead against hers and squeezed his eyes shut. “Please forgive me.”

Sansa sighed and after a few seconds closed her eyes too, her thumb stroking his as they clenched each other’s hands. It was surprisingly easy to forgive him, to feel safe even when they argued like this, to … to … to drink him in …

The door wrenched open and Sansa and Jon sprang apart. Arya was too busy nagging to see them. “Do you know we can hear you yelling all the way down the—”

She stared at Jon and Sansa, feet away from each other, breathing heavily, faces red. She narrowed her eyes. “What are you two doing?”

Passion

“You believing something so stubbornly doesn’t make it true!” he said, holding onto her tighter. “I would never betray you.” He looked at her with an earnestness so fierce it made her legs weak. “I would never — I would never put anyone else above you! I would never see you in danger ever again. I would never… I would never —”

Neither of them knew who moved forward first only that they’d come together in a breathless embrace that ignited a spark within both of them. Jon’s hands no longer held Sansa’s, instead they held either side of her face while Sansa’s hands gripped his wrists, her body bowed toward him.

Survival

Jon closed his eyes and sighed heavily, his entire body sagging with the weight of it.

“You’re too ashamed to look at me?” she pressed.

“It’s not that,” said Jon, his voice hoarse but Sansa disregarded him.

“You leave for weeks and you can’t even send a raven to tell me what you’re doing over there and then you come back telling me, telling all of us, that you did the very thing you said you wouldn’t do when you left but you could look me in the eye then.”

“Sansa—”

“When you betrayed me, when you betrayed us, you didn’t feel ashamed then but—” Sansa almost tripped over her own words trying to talk about the incident, the kiss, the one that she couldn’t help but replay in her head over and over again. “But because of what happened a few days ago, you’re too ashamed to even look at—”

Swiftly, Jon raised his head so could catch Sansa’s gaze, his eyes blazing with a melancholic longing that almost made Sansa clutch her chest.

“It’s not that,” he said again, more forcefully.

She parted her lips, dizzied by the sincerity of his expression. After a few moments, he squeezed his eyes shut again and wrenched away from her gaze, leaving her chambers to go to the meeting.

The Happening

He sighed heavily and his hands shook with the weight of what he was trying to express. “Something just happens when I’m with her.”

“Aye, you argue,” said Davos.

“Because she drives me mad,” said Jon, exasperated. “But.” His eyes fluttered. “She stirs something in me, something no one else can, it’s in my bones, I—” Jon’s mouth moved silently as he tried to articulate the extent of his feelings, tried to articulate how he not only needed but yearned for her faith in him, her trust in him, how her presence pulled all of his focus to it, how he wanted to do better and be better for her, how she wasn’t only remarkable but extraordinary and stubborn and admirable, how she ignited him as much as she incensed him, how she was everything he loved about the North.

“It’s powerful,” he said simply. “And it’s not something I can control.”

“By the sounds of it you don’t want to either.”

Jon didn’t answer. He didn’t know if he was ready to confirm that since he knew he couldn’t truthfully deny it either.

“You can’t stay here,” said Davos.

Jon stared at Davos incredulously. “This is my home and these are my countrymen. I will not abandon my people for something as petty as this.”

“It isn’t petty and you know it,” said Davos. “If you stay here then whatever it is between you and Lady Sansa will continue, I can see it already, and that will cause more damage to your people, which is something neither you nor she would be able to bear.” Davos sighed.

2. “Extramarital SE Affair” Series

I just really liked doing the dialogue for this series, it was a lot of fun writing the confrontations:

Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner

“You —!”

Stefan stopped again. “I what?”

“You didn’t try that hard. I didn’t take your calls for three days and then you just stopped.”

“Six voicemails, ten texts and twelve emails,” said Stefan. “You didn’t reply to any of them. You didn’t want to hear from me, Elena.”

“I didn’t want to hear from —? I stalked your Instagram.”

“Wait, what? I have an Insta—”

“No, you and Caroline have an Instagram and I stalked it. All of your family photos. She posts, like, a billion a day. I couldn’t stand not knowing about your day that I stalked the Instagram created by your wife who happens to be my best friend. ‘I didn’t want to hear from you’, are you serious?”

Just This Night

“Stefan…”

He picked a bottle and stared at it but didn’t turn around.

“Stefan.”

He didn’t answer her and stood still.

Elena walked down the last three steps. “Can’t you even look at me?”

“No,” he said finally.

Elena felt a pang in her chest. “Don’t say that,” she said. “Please don’t say that, Stefan, I—-”

“I can’t look at you,” he said. “Because every time I do look at you, I see him all over you and it makes me want to set the house on fire.”

True North

Damon yelled and picked up the glass bottle next to the remote, throwing it against the wall. “Why can’t you just have the decency to lie to me?”

“Because you need to know, I need to say these things, Damon, we need to talk!”

He whirled around her. “Fine, you want to talk, how was it?”

“How was what?”

“The sex,” said Damon. “How was the sex?”

Elena shook her head and walked to the other end of the loft. “Don’t do this.”

“No, stop,” Damon took her by the arm and turned her toward him. “You’re so big on honesty, Elena. The fact that it’s two months after you broke your wedding vows isn’t hypocritical at all. So let’s be honest, how many times did you two screw?”

Elena wrenched her arm out of Damon’s hand and folded them. “It was just that night.”

“One time in that night?”

Defining Moments

“So what are you trying to say, that forces out of your control made you sleep with Stefan?”

“I’m saying that I love him.”

“You love him?” Caroline repeated incredulously. “You broke him! Seeing you with Damon ripped him to shreds, Elena. Time after time I told you Stefan was the better choice and you still stuck with Damon even after everything that he did to me, to Jeremy, to everyone, and it completely wrecked Stefan!”

“He didn’t think he’d be able to live after that day in the library! I had to be his sober sponsor because he was just so devastated and tempted to go on a ripper binge! He was heartbroken!”

“Don’t you think I know that?” Elena yelled.

3. “Bonkai Regency” Series

This was SUPER fun to write, BK fics are always a blast for me because I like to get into the fucked up romantic dynamic of Bonnie and Kai but the added regency element to this series made it all the more fun.

The Gambit

Bonnie raised her head to look at him and then slowly sat up, exhaling heavily. “It won’t continue,” she said. “It’s why I came today, to tell you we won’t be seeing each other anymore.”

Lorenzo clenched his hair, his mouth opening and closing. “Is it so easy for you to cut ties with me?”

“Is that a question you would like me to answer?”

He stared at her for a few moments, his eyes wild and anguished, and then rushed forward and kissed her hard on the mouth. After a beat Bonnie raised her hands to put them on the sides of his head.

“One day, Bonnie Bennett,” said Lorenzo between kisses. “One day I hope you will fall madly in love. I hope a man will consume your every thought, your every waking breath so you can suffer this torture.”

Bonnie guided Lorenzo’s head to her neck. “Unlikely,” she said.

The Moon

Malachai extended his hand, twirling Josephine away from him so that she could face her next partner and in her place — the lady. Malachai stared at her, his mouth slightly agape, his gaze piercing through the red mask to her eyes; vivid green and dauntless, a hint of brazenness that made his mouth dry and body harden.

He committed everything he could to memory; her dusky complexion and ocean of black hair, dappled and bejeweled with rubies; her lips, a perfect heart, that plagued Malachai with a violent frustration because he was not at that moment kissing them, owning them with his own. Her hand in his inflamed him so that he felt himself sweat; a heat burned beneath his skin and flooded his gut, there was a charge between them, he felt it radiate from her being as much as his.

“Who are you?” he asked.

“Bonnie, Your Majesty,” said the lady. “Bonnie Bennett.”

Tonight

Malachai lunged forward and thrust his lips onto Bonnie’s, his hand on her throat; she knew she should act chaste, act taken aback and coy, scurry away with a giggle, but Malachai’s mouth on her frenzied Bonnie’s blood, it caused her entire body to vibrate with a desire that threatened to break her. Bonnie responded, a sigh in her throat that called to a moan in Malachai’s, his groin aching, his skin flushed and heated, his hands itching to feel the dips and curves of her body. He wanted her. He wanted her with a primal intensity he’d never before suffered and he shifted his body, pressing himself against her and her against the wall. Bonnie felt herself open up, ready to accept him, to lay waste to him and she knew that stopping this would be painful, would be torture, that doing anything but kiss him would surely kill her but she pulled away.

“I must go,” she whispered, walking down the hall. He grabbed her hand. “But Bonnie…”

“Her Majesty expects me, I must go.”

Ensnared

Bonnie shook her head dismissively, heading to the door. She opened it slightly but Damon blocked her before she could leave. “What is this about?” he whispered. “You’re not … you’re not falling in love with him are you?”

Damon glared down at her and Bonnie narrowed her eyes in regard; the expression on his face was the same one Lorenzo had whenever she told him of a man who came courting except there wasn’t sorrow beneath Damon’s jealousy like with Lorenzo, there was only venom. He’d chosen both, to hate her and to love her and his indecision irritated Bonnie as it made her life more difficult.

“What I am doing will enrapture him, command his attention,” said Bonnie. “I am doing something no woman has done before and that will endear me to him.”

Bonnie put her hand on the handle but Damon grabbed her by the arm turning her toward him so their faces were a breath away from each other.

“You haven’t answered my question.”

“I don’t have to answer to you,” said Bonnie. “Cousin.”

Mad

“Your mistress?” she repeated.

“My official mistress,” said Malachai. “My only mistress.”

“Is that all you see me as then? Someone to be used and discarded at your leisure?”

Malachai’s eyes flashed with an angry incredulity. “Do you think so little of me that I would mar you with such dishonour? I am committing myself to you. I am bonding myself to you. I only ask you do the same.”

“You’re asking no such thing. You’re asking me to spread my legs for you at your convenience!”

Malachai started shouting. “You dare speak to your King this way? You dare look him in his eye?”

Bonnie knew she was on dangerous ground but she couldn’t stop; he made her impulsive, reckless. “I dare to call an impossible situation impossible. I have already bonded myself to my husband and only he, whoever he may be, will be graced with my maidenhead!”

Malachai turned away, throwing his hands up in the air, pacing the foyer. “I am the King of England, Bonnie!” he yelled. “Do not pretend not to understand my responsibilities! Do not feign ignorance of my position!”

“And do not feign ignorance of mine! I know what happens when women are made to be mistresses, official or otherwise! A woman’s reputation is the only card she has to play in this life and I intend to keep mine unsullied.” “Are you saying that binding your name to mine will sully yours?”

“I am saying that people will talk!”

“Then l will cut out their tongues!” he roared.

Paranoia

Bonnie thrust her mouth onto Malachai’s, biting his bottom lip and he groaned in response, flattening her against the wall with his body. Hurriedly, he dug his way through her skirts to her leg, hitching it on his hip. He rocked into her, his hardness pressing against her ache and she whimpered as he skimmed his lips along her neck, kissing her chest, burrowing into her cleavage. “Say it,” he gasped, the tip of his tongue skating her collarbone. “Say that you’re mine.” Bonnie slipped her hands under his shirt, flattening her palms over his torso so that he closed his eyes and sighed. She wanted to feel every bit of him that she could within the confines of her own restrictions and she gently ran her nails over his chest , making him shudder. Malachai shook his head and kissed her with an urgency that made Bonnie gasp with surprise, he pressed his hand against the wall above her and rocked into her again, harder this time so that she yelped. He nuzzled her neck, his hands squeezing her waist, digging into the material of her dress.

Possession

“Malachai—”

He whirled around on her, pushing her against the wall, pinning her wrists above her head. “Your cousin is too familiar with you.”

“He’s my family.”

“He oversteps!” Malachai roared. “I should have him beheaded.”

“To what end?”

“To my own satisfaction,” he said bitterly. His face contorted. “You let him touch you.”

Bonnie’s eyes sharpened and their greenness intensified to a vividness that weakened Malachai. “How could you possibly be angry with me?” she said indignantly. “He is like a son to my father and I—”

“I hate that his hands were on you. All I want is to claim you with mine and you won’t allow—” Malachai gritted his teeth. He released Bonnie’s hands as he ran one through his hair. “You are torturing me with your absence, it’s killing me, Bonnie, and now you’re attempting to deny me the right to punish the man who touched you?”

“I have no right to harm Caroline though seeing her punished for standing in my way of you would bring me nothing but unrestrained joy, why should you be afforded what I’m denied?”

Malachai shouted. “Because any man’s hand should be removed for touching the wife of the King!”

“But I am not your wife!”

Cursed

“Your passions with the King is the gossip of court,” said Alaric. He sat at a table as Bonnie stood by a window. “Yet you are still without child.”

“Yes, Papa,” she mumbled.

“Do not think that just because you have married the King that you’re free to relax, in fact our position is more precarious than ever, an heir will secure it and all will be well.”

“It hasn’t even been a month yet,” said Bonnie. “I need time.”

“As long as it’s time to progress our plans and not time to enjoy yourself.”

“Are the two really so antithetical?” said Bonnie.

Alaric regarded her. “You were foolish to fall prey to your own deception, Bonnie. Falling in love with the King—”

“Was not my intention,” said Bonnie sharply. “It isn’t something I asked for or wanted, in fact it has been nothing but an inconvenience, it’s almost torturous but it happened and now—”

Chaos

“You were supposed to be better than any other human of this world! You were supposed to use him! You were supposed to stay removed!”

“This isn’t something that I can control! Do you think I enjoy how much the King overwhelms me? Do you think I enjoy the anxiety I suffer when he’s away from me for too long, do you think I enjoy the burning? The never-ending, constant burning for him? I AM GOING MAD.”

“And I’m going mad watching you!” said Damon. “I can’t stand it! The way you two are delirious with one another, wrapped up in each other, even with a gaze, it’s enough to turn the stomach! Curse Lorenzo for wishing this upon you. Curse you for falling victim to Him!”

Bonnie stared at Damon, alarmed and furious. “That’s what this is about,” she said. “You aren’t upset that I fell in love, you’re upset that the King is the object of my affection.”

Damon furled his upper lip but said nothing in response.

“I never loved you,” she said harshly.

4. “Stefonnie” Series

I See You

“Sure it is,” said Stefan. “Bonnie …” He took a step closer to her. “I’m not going to tell you how strong you are because I know you know that you are, everyone tells you you are and … you are. You are amazing, you hold everyone and everything together … and you’re so busy fixing the world and you’re so ready to save everyone, no one really asks what you need to be saved. You’re just so strong that that’s all anyone can see. And that’s on them. And that’s on me. So I’m asking you now, what do you need?”

Bonnie gazed up at Stefan, her lips parted, a fat tear rolling down her cheek. “Can you just sit with me?”

Stefan nodded his head. “Yeah, I can do that.”

We Are OK

“I’m too angry at him to miss him.”

“So you miss him,” said Stefan, smiling. “I see you, Bonnie. I see what your anger means. You wouldn’t care anymore if you didn’t miss him.”

Bonnie didn’t say anything. She did. Miss Damon. But not as much as the thought that she would, not as desperately as she had the night he chose himself. Being with Stefan had not only made her feel less alone, but she didn’t feel lonely with him. It was unbelievable how different two brothers could be. Now she’d been alone with both Salvatores for the same amount of time. Damon had driven her crazy in the nineties; she’d wanted to tear her hair out, bang her head against the wall. There were times she fantasized about setting him on fire. But there was affection behind the madness; an inexplicable bond that sprouted ties between them. Through the bluster and the bickering, she saw his redeeming qualities, his loyalty, his pain. Being in literal hell together bound her to him.

But Stefan was … His warmth enveloped her. Naturally. She felt safe. Period. No pretense, no fronts, she was all of herself with him and she couldn’t help it, she couldn’t help the vulnerabilities, the parts of herself she shut down and locked away that surfaced in his presence. She could breathe around him, she could laugh and banter, not quarrel, but tease, he was fresh air and it felt like betrayal. To Damon. To Jeremy. That type of intimacy was not meant for her and him.

Suspension of Grief

They were in the middle of reading The Prisoner of Azkaban when sleep overcame them. Bonnie didn’t even remember when she’d started to feel tired. She pressed the phone to her ear and closed her eyes; that was why it hadn’t been so cold when she slept, Stefan had been next to her, his body solid like marble but the warmth of his skin, of him, his essence embracing her had cocooned Bonnie with such comfort that she’d actually felt cosy. His arm, strong yet gentle around her middle, had kept a grin on her face throughout the night; even now her cheeks were sore.

He’d never intended to fall asleep on the bed; he certainly never intended to fall asleep entwined with her, her body perfectly melded with his, as if it were the most natural thing in the world to lie in his arms. He thought back to the night before, to how he felt so at peace, almost blissful, as if his body was made for this purpose, to enclose Bonnie’s in his. Stefan sighed and started to gently bang his head against the tile.

5. “Klefan/Stebekah/Klebekah Ot3″ Series

I find it one of my more underappreciated series but it was so much fun to write because Klefan! Klebekah!

A Fateful Encounter

He wasn’t quite sure why he did it, if it was because he wanted to keep Stefan from touching her again or if it was because he didn’t want Rebekah touching Stefan at all. Both. It was both.At that moment, Klaus realized that he did not feel any urge to murder Stefan or to punish Rebekah but that he could only stomach their desire for each other if it was filtered through him. He would have to be what bound all three of them together, otherwise he would have to lock Rebekah away again and kill Stefan for denying him.

Invitation

But Stefan took out a pen knife. Klaus swallowed hard, his breathing becoming shallow. His muscles tightened, he felt hot around his collar. This wasn’t exhilaration, this was — Stefan cut Lila’s wrist, the blood dribbling into Rebekah’s martini and Klaus smiled, surprised at his own delight, at the pleasure seeing Stefan exact control made him feel. Rebekah grinned, satisfied and thrilled.

He could feel it — their eyes on him. Rebekah’s enjoyment emboldened Stefan, she had a taste for the depraved that frenzied him in the worst possible way, but Klaus … … he had a thirst that Stefan seemed to feel in his core, a yearning for more than simple depravity but a desire to revel in Stefan’s unique form of hedonism. And Stefan wanted him to.

Shadowhunters Short Story #44. Kiearktina babies!

CW: Miscarriage, pregnancy loss.

It is a miserable February day in 2014 when 20 year old Cristina Rosales Mendoza finds herself standing outside the LA entrance to the Silent City, with her best friend Emma trying to coax her down to the Bone City.

Lately, Cristina has been feeling off, she’s been feeling really sick all the time and vomiting a lot, her stomach and back have been bothering her, she’s been extremely emotional and just the other day she missed her period. When she missed her period she knew right away what was wrong wit her. She, Mark and Kieran weren’t exactly the best at practicing safe sex, it’s a wonder Cristina hasn’t found herself in this situation sooner.

This morning Cristina asked Emma to come with her to The Silent City where a Silent Brother could tell her for sure whether or not she’s pregnant, but now that they’re here Cristina isn’t so sure she wants to know. The thought of being pregnant is both terrifying and exhilarating, she’s only 20, Mark is only 23 and technically Kieran is only 24, though due to living in Faerie for most of his life, he has lived longer than 24 years. Still, all three of them are pretty young, especially to become parents, and Cristina has no idea how it will work what with Kieran being The Unseelie King and not being able to stay in the mortal world for long periods of time. Maybe the best option would be not to tell them at all and have an abortion.

“Cristina come on, you need to know one way or another.” Emma gently says, placing a hand on her friend’s shoulder, wishing she could do something to help ease Cristina’s nerves.

“No, no I don’t I can just ignore it and it will go away.” Cristina says in a slightly panicked tone, her heart racing and her breath hitching in her throat.

“Okay but don’t be surprised if in nine months you’re sitting on the toilet and a baby pops out.” Emma says in a witty tone.

“Emma! Now’s not that time for jokes!” Cristina exclaims.

“And it’s not the time to let your fear get the best of you either, come on!” Emma firmly says, grabbing Cristina by the wrist and dragging her toward the entrance to The Silent City. Before Cristina can protest the shadowy figure of a Silent Brothers looms up in front of her.

Do you require the assistance of The Silent Brothers? The cold voice echos in her mind. Great, now she and Emma have pissed The Silent Brothers off with their arguing, Jem will kill them.

“Yes she does she’s being a baby about it, ironically! Cristina thinks she pregnant but she’s not sure, you can tell right?” Emma asks in a confident tone.

Yes of course, all that is required is a simple blood test and abdominal exam, if you follow me it will only take half an hour at most. The Silent Brother tells them. Half an hour, just half an hour until Cristina’s world is possibly turned upside down.

“Perfect! Is it okay if I come with her?” Emma asks in a hopeful tone.

Yes that is fine, follow me. And Cristina, there is no reason to be so nervous, whatever the results this is what The Angel has planned for you, it will all work out. The Silent Brother tells them, as they make their way through the dark, damp Silent City.

“Easy for you to say.” Cristina mumbles.

“Tina why are you so scared of finding out? I thought you wanted kids.” Emma asks her friend, not understanding where all this fear has come from.

“I do but not for another few years, and how will it work out with Kieran not being able to stay in the mortal world? The baby, Mark and I can’t exactly move to Faerie and Kieran has to be apart of the baby’s life, a big part.” Cristina explains in a hopeless tone.

“You’ll work something out, I know you will.” Emma softly says. Just then they reach a large set of wooden double doors. When they are opened they reveal a small room with concrete walls, a stone slab in the middle of the room, numerous trays with medical equipment, herbs, setles, etc, on them.

If you would take a seat on the table we can begin the examination, I will need you to lie back and lift your top up. The Silent Brother explains to Cristina, indicating the stone slab in the middle of the room. Swallowing hard Cristina makes her way across the room on wobbly legs and hoists herself onto the slab. When she lies back and pulls up her shirt, she almost gasps as The Silent Brother’s hands land on her stomach. For a good few minutes he feels around her stomach, pushing down in certain spots, paying particular attention to her lower abdomen. Once he has finished the abdominal exam, The Silent Brother draws a sample of blood from Cristina and turns away from her and Emma to examine it.

10 minutes later he turns back around and folds his hands in front of him.

Your suspicions were correct Cristina, though there is something else you should know. The Silent Brother tells her, sending her heart racing. Not only is she pregnant, could she possibly have some awful disease? Could the pregnancy not be viable? Would the baby not live outside her womb? Even though she is beyond scared of the idea of having a baby, the thought of loosing her child breaks Cristina’s heart.

“W-what is it?” She weakly asks.

You’re expecting twins. The Silent Brother’s voice echos in her mind, sending her into a sate of shock. Twins, two babies! Cristina feels as though she may faint.

“T-twins? T-two babies?” Cristina asks in a tone of shock, pressing one hand to her stomach and holding up two fingers on the other hand.

Yes two babies. The Silent Brother confirms.

“By The Angel.... are they both okay?” Cristina asks in an anxious tone.

Yes everything is very healthy with all three of you, you are approximately 2 months along and are due around the 10th of November. The Silent Brother explains. Cristina doesn’t know weather to laugh or cry, she had been so scared that something was wrong with her baby, so scared that she would miscarry, but now she’s been told she’s having twins, this is going to take a lot of explaining.

When she and Emma leave The Silent City, Cristina heads straight for The Cottage where she is meant to meet Mark and Kieran soon.

When she arrives at The Cottage and steps inside, she sees that she is the last to have arrived. Mark and Kieran are sitting on the over stuffed leather sofa, Kieran sitting up right and Mark lying across the couch with his head in Kieran’s lap, both of them gazing at each other and smiling brightly. Cristina’s heart flutters at the sight of them, the two people she loves most in the world, soon they would share her heart with two others.

“Am I missing out on all the fun?” Cristina lightly asks, kicking off her shoes and walking over to the couch.

“Unless you consider Mark’s terrible jokes fun, no.” Kieran says in a playful tone, smiling brightly up at her.

“My jokes are not terrible! Tavvy will account for that!”“ Mark exclaims.

“Are you alright my love? You look as though you’ve been crying.” Kieran gently asks Cristina, reaching out to grasp her hand in his.

“I... I have to tell you two something but I don’t really know how and I’m really scared.” Cristina quietly admits. She hadn’t been planning on telling them today but it looks like her plans are out the window.

“What is it? What’s wrong?” Mark asks in a tone full of concern, sitting up and pulling Cristina down onto the sofa so that she is sitting between he and Kieran.

“Nothing’s wrong exactly it’s just... I missed my period.” Cristina whispers, looking down at her hands clasped in her lap.

“I... how... how late are you?” Mark asks in an equally quiet tone.

“About a month.”

“This means you might be.... right?” Kieran gently asks. Cristina nods.

“Yeah, in fact I... I am pregnant, with twins.” There is a silence for a moment before Kiearn stutters

“T-twins? Y-you’re pregnant with twins? Our twins?” Cristina laughs lightly and says

“No Kier they’re Diego’s babies. Of course they’re yours silly.” She knows Kieran isn’t insinuating that she has cheated on he and Mark, he’s just in shock and people tend to say stupid things when they’re in shock.

“Babies.” Mark softly says in a breathy tone, running his hand across Cristina’s stomach. “We’re going to have two babies, I hope they look like you and Kieran.” Kieran places his hand over Mark’s and lightly says

“No no no, they must look like you and Cristina, I demand it as King Of The Unseelie. You hear me you two? don’t look like me, you need to look like your beautiful mama and papa.” Cristina laughs lightly and wipes at her tears, her fears and anxieties lifting.

“How is this going to work Kier? I mean what with you being The Unseelie King and everything.” Cristina quietly asks.

“All three of us could move in here permanently, I would go to The Courts when I’m needed and can check in on The Courts everyday and only be gone a few hours, you and Mark can still see all your friends and family all the time, they can come visit and stay here, I imagine your mother is going to want to stay when the babies are born.” It seems like the perfect solution, they all spend so much time here anyway, they might as well move in, the babies need a stable and secure home, it wouldn’t be right or fair to haul them from LA to here to Faerie all the time, they can take the babies to visit everyone in LA and take them to visit The Courts, but this will be their home.

“Oh dios mios, I haven’t even thought about telling mama yet.” Cristina says, that will be an awkward conversation, though no doubt Carmen will be a dotting grandma who spoils the kids rotten.

“Do you know what we’re having?” Mark asks in a hopeful tone.

“Yes Mark, two babies.” Cristina teases. Mark grins and rolls his eyes.

“Well duh, I meant do you know if we’re having two boys, two girls or a girl and a boy?” Mark asks.

“No I don’t know and I want it to be a surprise but I want to pick their names out before they’re born so we need to get cracking on that.” Mark’s eyes widen and Kieran laughs at his boyfriend's expression and his girlfriend’s demands.

“If we have a girl I’d like to name her Olivia, after Livvy, it’s a way for her to have both her own name and her aunt’s name.” Mark quietly says, stroking Cristina’s belly with his thumb. Cristina rests her head on his shoulder and softly says

“Of course, Olivia Rosales- Blackthorn-Kingson, I love it.”

Over the course of the next few weeks Cristina, Kieran and Mark tell their friends and family about the babies. Everyone is very supportive and accepting. Mark’s brothers and sisters are beyond excited to be aunts and uncles. When they tell Carmen when she comes to visit from Mexico, Kieran and Mark are scared out of their minds, Carmen is a very protective mother and a fierce warrior. Thankfully she reacts well for the most part, at first she is very shocked but it only takes her a few minutes to come around and congratulate the three of them. That had been two weeks ago and according to Jaime and Diego, Carmen was telling everyone she could about her grandchildren. Though Cristina is glad her mother is so happy for her, she can’t help but worry that they have jinxed things by telling everyone so early on, she isn’t even three months pregnant yet and things are more likely to go wrong in the first three months.

Right now Cristina is lying in bed between Mark and Kieran, the sun streaming in through the small window. She had been unable to get back to sleep that morning due to mild cramps in her stomach and they seem to be getting worse. Cristina rolls from back to her side and pokes Mark in the back lightly.

“Mark.” She quietly says. “Let me up.” Mark groans and heaves himself from the bed. When Cristina gets out of the bed and turns to grab her phone, she freezes on the spot when she sees the red stain on the white sheets where she had just been lying.

“Tina? You alright?” Mark asks in a tone of concern.

“I’m bleeding.” Cristina quietly says in a tone of shock. They had jinxed it by telling everyone so early, blood could only mean one thing and now they will have to tell everyone that there will be no babies after all.

Kieran instantly scrambles from the bed.

“I’m going to get a healer from The Court.” He says in a panicked tone, throwing a shirt on and rushing out of the door.

Half an hour later, Cristina is lying on the bed on her back, a Faerie healer standing over her and Kieran and Mark sitting on either side of her, clutching her hands tightly.

“A-are the babies okay?” Mark asks in an anxious tone.

“Yes all is well with both babies. Lady Rosales-Mendoza, you are experiencing what is known as a threatened miscarriage, you are bleeding and experiencing abdominal cramps but all is well with both babies, both heartbeats are strong. The best thing to do is stay off your feet and rest, you must avoid sex until the symptoms have been gone completely for a week. In a week or so you can have another blood test to test the HCG level, if it is rising normally than we know the pregnancy is developing as normal.” When the healer finishes her explanation Cristina feels as though she is about to cry with relief.

“Is there anything else that can be done?” Kieran asks, his voice not once portraying his fear and anxiety.

“No M’lord, some forms of mundane pain relief can be taken to help the cramps but that is all.” The healer explains.

A few minutes later The Healer sees herself out and Cristina cannot hold back her tears of joy and neither can Mark or Kieran.

“God that was one of the scariest things I’ve been through, I thought we were going to loose them.” Mark says in a wobbly tone, placing a hand on Cristina's belly.

“So did I, I was petrified.” Cristina admits, wiping at her tears.

“Are you alright Kier?” Mark softly asks, reaching over to grasp Kieran’s hand in his. Kieran lifts his head and smiles weakly at Mark as tears run down his cheeks.

“Yes, yes I am fine, I was just so worried for Cristina and the babies. I love these two so much already, it would absolutely kill me to loose them.” Kieran quietly says, placing his hand over Mark’s. Mark squeezes Cristina and Kieran’s hands lightly and in a loving tone says

“Me too, god I love you so much, all 4 of you.”

Over the next few days Cristina hardly leaves the bed; Mark and Kieran bring her food, they bring her books to read, sit with her as much as they can to keep her company, etc. A week after the threatened miscarriage the bleeding and cramps stop and a visit from Brother Enoch confirms that all is well with both the babies and Cristina.

She, Mark and Kieran officially and fully move into The Cottage when Cristina is 5 months pregnant. They had much help from all of Mark’s brothers and sisters and Kit, Tessa and Jem helped out too. Since Cristina could not lift anything heavy or strain or exert herself in anyway, while everyone else was bringing things into The Cottage, Cristina sat outside in the grass with Tessa and Jem’s two year old daughter Cordelia. Spending time with her made Cristina all the more eager to meet her own children. Cordelia was fascinated by Cristina’s bump and loved feeling the babies kick, by the end of the day she was begging Jem and Tessa for a brother or sister. She thought it was extremely unfair that Tavvy would have two babies in his family and she would have non.

The rest of the pregnancy progresses easily and smoothly, much to everyone’s relief. At 6 months pregnant Cristina decides on having a home birth with a midwife/nurse delivering the baby and a Silent Brother witnessing the birth while also being available to assist if anything goes amiss. Jem offers to stand in place of a Silent Brother, knowing how uncomfortable most people are around them, and Tessa offers to deliver the baby, she never went to med school or anything but she has hundreds of years of experience as does Jem. Cristina accepts their offers, relived that two strangers won’t be the ones in charge of her birth.

When Cristina is 7 months pregnant they decide to give the babies two godparents between them. After a while of debating they agree that Emma will be their godmother and Jaime will be their godfather. Emma and Jaime are two of Cristina’s closest friends and the ones who visit her most throughout the pregnancy while she needs to take it easy. She had wanted to visit her mother as well as Jaime in Mexico before the babies arrived, but after the threatened miscarriage that was off the table, instead her mother would come stay in LA a few weeks before Cristina’s due date, as will Jaime.

Right now Cristina is 8 months pregnant, 36 weeks along, 4 weeks from her due date. Her mother and Jaime will be coming to stay in 3 weeks.

At this stage of her pregnancy Cristina is very tired, very uncomfortable and very emotional. Carrying two 6 pound babies around is no easy feat and all the hormones that come with pregnancy are driving Cristina mad. The other day she cried for a solid half hour because she dropped her pen. Mark and Kieran are extremely supportive and understanding though and do everything they can to make Cristina feel better. When she is suffering from aches and pains in her back, they will lie with her for hours massaging her back to try and relieve the pain, when she is exhausted and needs to nap multiple times a day they will lie with her if she wants or give her some space if she needs it. And when she becomes overwhelmed with emotions they are there to love her and support her and assure her that it’s okay to feel this way, it’s very normal in fact.

It is currently 1:00 A.M. and Cristina has just been awoken by the urge to use the bathroom. Normally she sleeps in-between Kiearn and Mark, but since she got pregnant and has started to frequently need the toilet at night, she has switched potions with Mark and now sleeps on the right side of the bed so she can get in and out without waking the boys.

Five minutes later, just as Cristina is about to leave the bathroom and crawl back into bed, she is hit with an intense pain in her lower abdomen which causes her to double over, clutching at the wall for support. The pain lasts at least a solid five minutes and leaves Cristina feeling drained of energy. It takes her fifteen minutes to gather her strength to go back to bed, but just as she reaches to turn off the light in the bathroom, another intense pain hits her, almost worse than the last one. A few minutes later she is relieved to hear soft padded footsteps and looks up to see Mark standing in the doorway to the bathroom, his pale blonde hair rumpled and concern written all over his face.

“Cristina are you alright?” He asks in a concerned tone.

“I think the babies are coming.” Just as the words leave Cristina’s mouth a gush of water comes from between her legs.

Mark helps Cristina back to their room, where she chooses to sit on the edge of the bed while Kieran holds her hand and Mark rushes off to call Tessa and Jem. Only 20 minutes after feeling her first contraction, Cristina feels an awful intense pressure between her legs. Gasping, she clutches at Kieran’s shoulder and gasps out

“The babies are coming right now, I have to push.” Kieran and Mark exchange a terrified look. Tessa and Jem assured them they would be there as soon as possible, though in the ten minutes since Mark contacted them, they haven’t made an appearance.

“W-what do we do?” Mark asks in a panicked tone.

“One of us are going to have to deliver the babies, or catch them at least.” Kiearn calmly says, doing his best to hide his fear and concern for Mark and Cristina. Hopefully Tessa and Jem will show up before one of the babies comes out.

“I-I can’t do it!” Mark exclaims in a horrified tone.

“Then I will.” Kiearn says, climbing out of the bed and kneeling at Cristina’s feet. “You just do what your body tells you to do Cristina, it will be alright, all three of us are going to do this together.” He calmly yet firmly tells her. Cristina nods and grips Mark’s hand before pushing as hard as she can, trying to breath through the pain. There had been no time for any pain relief, not even a pain killing rune.

“You’re almost there my lady of roses, I see a head.” Kieran says in a tone of awe and wonder. After another few minutes of pushing, the baby slips out into Kieran’s arms and immediately starts wailing loudly.

“Oh god are they okay?” Cristina asks in an anxious tone, leaning forward to get a glimpse of her baby.

“Yes, yes they’re perfect. They’re a boy.” Kieran says in a strained tone, tears of joy welling in his eyes. A boy, a son he has a son.

“While it seems that you are doing a splendid job without us, would you perhaps like some help?” Comes an amused, familiar voice from the doorway of the bedroom. Cristina turns to see Jem and Tessa standing in the doorway, Tessa with a compact blue bag in her hands and Jem with a bundle of towels and blankets.

“Yes, that would be very much appreciated.” Kiearn says in a breathless tone, still shocked at what just happened.

“Jem can you cut and clamp the little boy’s umbilical cord, wash him down and wrap him up while I help Cristina deliver his sibling?” Tessa calmly asks, as she strides over to the bed, sets her bag down and kneels beside Kieran.

“Of course, does he have a name?” Jem softly asks, spreading a clean towel on the floor to lay the baby on.

“Not yet, they weren’t suppose to come for 4 more weeks.” Cristina says in a breathy tone, wincing as another pain hits her.

“Twins do tend to come early, 36 weeks is good for a twin pregnancy, practically full term.” Tessa gently says, before she looks up at Cristina and says “I see your next baby’s head, you need to push okay?” Cristina nods and starts pushing again, grasping both Kieran and Mark’s hands in hers. Just a few minutes later she feels a weight lift from her and hears her baby start to cry.

“You did it Cristina! My god you’re amazing!” Mark exclaims in a tone of awe, leaning in to kiss her temple.

“Is the baby okay? Are both of them okay?” Kieran anxiously asks, looking from Tessa who is cleaning Baby B down, to Jem who has Baby A wrapped up in blankets and is cradling him in his arms. Jem adores babies, he loves helping out at births like this and getting to hold and fuss over the beautiful new babies, he is desperate for a second baby.

“This little one is right as rain.” Jem lightly says, getting up and gently passing the baby to Cristina.

“As is his sister.” Tessa joyfully says, placing the other baby beside her brother.

“Sister? We have a girl? A boy and a girl?” Cristina softly asks.

“Yes that’s right, they’re absolutely beautiful, congratulations. We’ll give you some privacy, if you need us just shout.” Tessa says, before she and Jem leave the room hand in hand.

Cristina, Mark and Kiearn gaze down at their babies in awe. They are both so tiny and so perfect. Their daughter- Olivia- looks just like Kieran, with a few wisps of dark hair and his nose and eye shape, while she has Cristina’s pallor and bone structure and a mouth shape that seems to be all her own. Their little boy is a perfect mixture of Cristina and Mark. He has a few tufts of dark blonde hair, Mark’s bone structure and mouth shape while he has Cristina’s pallor, nose and eye shape.

“What should we name our baby boy?” Cristina asks in a hoarse tone.

“How about Arthur After my uncle?” Mark suggests. He had hardly known his Uncle Arthur at all, and sometimes he found himself blaming Arthur for ruining Julian’s childhood and forcing him to run The Institute and raise his siblings, but in the end Arthur sacrificed himself to save Mark and his siblings, and he deserves to be honored and recognized for that.

“Arthur.Arthur and Olivia, I like it. What about you Kier?” Cristina softly asks.

“It’s certainly a name fit for a prince. What about middle names for them?” He asks.

“How about Olivia Grace and Arthur Edward?” Mark suggests. These were two names, his mother told him, that were on the table when she was pregnant with Ty and Livvy, but in the end she and his dad decided they sounded too plain next to names like Julian Atticus and Mark Anthony.

“Olivia Grace Rosales-Blackthorn-Kingson, George Edward Rosales-Blackthorn-Kingson, prince and princess of The Unseelie Court.” Kieran softly says, gently stroking Olivia’s cheek and smiling widely when she reaches a hand out of the blankets and grabs his finger.

“Seems like Jace and Kit aren’t the only ones with lots of last names.” Mark jokingly says, bending to press a kiss to his son’s cheek.

“Hm Olivia Grace Rosales Mendoza Blackthorn Kingson Hunter. Bit of a mouthful huh babies?” Cristina coos, gently bouncing the babies in her arms.

“We could just call them Olivia and Arthur RMBKH.” Mark jokes, feeling on top of the world now his babies are here, his sweet perfect babies.

“That would be rather cruel Mark, Cristina I do not think he should have a say in baby names anymore.” Kieran teases.

“Oh? Are you implying you want more babies?” Kieran grins and nods.

“Well of course, we are after all a Royal family and Royal families usually have many children.” Cristina smiles widely and says

“Well good, because I want lots of babies too, I say we try and beat your parents Mark, what do you say to eight kids? We got two in one go, just 6 more.” Mark laughs and leans in to kiss her lightly on the lips.

“Emma and Julian will probably beat us by a long shot though, I’m surprised it was us who had kids first and not them.” Mark jokes. Cristina can’t help but grin knowingly, last time Emma had come to visit she had told Cristina she’s pregnant and asked her not to tell anyone else as it is still early days. Cristina of course agreed to keep it a secret but is delighted for Emma and Jules, they will be amazing parents and it will be wonderful for Arthur and Olivia to have a cousin so close to them in age.

As she sits between her two amazing, wonderful, loving boyfriends, snuggling her beautiful new babies, Cristina feels like shes’ in heaven. She could not possibly ask for more, in this one small moment, everything is perfect.

1D Day, Hour Three

Almost halfway through this hour, which is almost halfway through this day, is the point where Louis Tomlinson stops having fucks left to give and starts getting real. He’s still a professional throughout hour three (not like Harry in hour two, oof), but god, how??? Everything here is a disaster, and it’s infuriating when you consider that a) this must have been somewhat planned out (the band is HUGE, allegedly 32 million people are watching), and b) it’s being produced in LA, presumably with easy access to professionals who have had some experience with live shows (since, what, the 1930s???). Anyway, I would have loved to hear the choice words Louis no doubt had for Ben Winston when he ran away during one of the Google+ Hangouts, lmao.

When I first watched this two years back, Niall’s nervous laughter nearly drove me insane, but this time around, I’m loving the subtle nuances w/r/t wtf is happening on this here day as Louis’s rage starts to climb and Niall’s Slytherin core starts to emerge. Deets under the cut.

Niall and Louis literally burst through a paper wall to launch hour three and reveal Niall’s lilac hair (also revealed: the fact that Niall’s “a diva,” according to Louis). The color’s hardly even noticeable, but Niall’s all worked up about it, and I’m betting he had to do this because he has no tattoos, so everyone wanted to freak his Virgo ass out with something “permanent.”

The first bit is so tiresome (Louis’s childhood friend, Stan, forcing the Milkshake City staff to perform the world’s sleepiest version of “Rock Me”), but I’m a huge fan of Stan’s for the Larry purple dildo video alone (ICONIC; ping me if you need a link), plus I love the tidbit about the time Harry came in for a milkshake for himself and “a friend back at home.”

After we survive this long-ass bit of fill, Louis and Stan take the piss out of each other and banter a bit with Niall, which is all pretty hilarious and also makes me sad in the key of “oh how I wish that was me.”

Because it wasn’t at all tedious in hour one, it’s time for another Guinness Book of World Records challenge (Louis: “Of course it is”), this time balancing coins on faces. Hey, speaking of faces, did you know that men are at peak hotness between the ages of 32 and 36? This guy is 22 years old, doing the stupidest task ever, help me, Jeebus:

Next up is the randomizer, which randomly pulls celebrity videos, and this is when the in-ears start acting up for Louis, who’s midway through Robbie Williams asking them for the best live performer they’ve ever seen, prompting Louis to give Ben the evil eye off camera and go off script to say Michael Buble, ha.

Some random sports man (update: Doncaster Rovers manager) demands that they do pressups up and burpees, and Louis gives us a surprisingly strong and steady nine pressups before proving why he’s most relatable:

After fits of unnecessary laughter from Niall, and a lot of exasperation about the technical problems so far from Louis (friend, you’ve seen nowt yet), we get the best VT from this entire day, the iconic bts video for “Talk Dirty to Me,” and if you watch nothing from any of this, please tell me you’ve seen it in full for Zayn the goofball! Liam’s hanky code shoutouts! Harry’s hip chub! Louis and his glorious torso! Niall in full Farmer Ted mode!

Next up, we get astronauts congratulating the D from space, and whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I mean, honestly, WHY? Are these astronauts fans? Is anyone besides Niall into space? I know there’s an intense interest in making space interesting for teens (how many times have people on the international space station beamed their way into MTV award shows at this point), but whyyyyy.

Scott tells us we’ll soon see Doctor Who (mild interest from Nouis) and Simon Cowell (Louis: “SIMON COWELL, WOO HOO, I LOVE THAT GUY!” Niall: “Simon GROWL”), but first up is Doctor Who, and this is where the wheels fall off the bus, technically speaking. First, there’s a 15-minute delay (!!), so Nouis are standing around while the Doctor handles some other interview for the BBC. Eventually, they connect, and Louis makes the understatement of the year (“This is gonna be tough”) as both the video and audio go full Inception and echo in and around each other to make us all woozy:

Louis again understates the chaos happening on screen by saying, “I think actually that this is not working,” and then begging for any VT, they don’t care, help (the VT is Niall being all humblecholy about their success and Ireland and something something, I’m not actually interested, sorry).

We come back to Louis still losing it, curious as to how they can have a link to space but can’t have a studio in LA link to the BBC, and yeah. YEAH. But enough about that, it’s Google+ Hangout (lololololol) time, and we don’t get too many answers to these vital fan questions because Ben is in Louis’s ear so much that Louis starts arguing with him about it and eventually runs off stage to yell at him in person, and god, it’s glorious. READY 2 FIGHT:

Because this is an utter trainwreck, the team decides to do another live link again, this time to the X Factor while it’s airing in the UK, and it’s…yeah, not good. Just awful, cameras out of synch, no sound, etc. Save us, random VT of Denmark!!

Hearing Louis say “tits up” is my new religion, but honestly, this chitchat with McFly is such a revelation. Apparently, they worked with Niall on something, so they gossip with Louis about what a diva Niall is (!) and how he brought a friend of his named Shawn around (!!), and there’s a lot of inside jokes I know nothing about, but I’m LIVING for Niall looking at all these boys on the screen and saying, “I feel like I’m alone in my bedroom,” and Louis’s response, “Okay, Niall!”

“Don’t Forget Where You Belong” is announced, but we don’t get to hear it (although we DO get to see some sweet Nouis dancing), and two more girls go into the call box of doom. Because this show’s producers can’t go ten minutes without a disaster, there’s increasingly urgent screaming from Louis to Ben to just roll the Zayn graffiti VT, which takes at least a full, tense minute to post.

Zayn is incredibly hot, but my heart breaks for him saying it’s their 127th show, and he’s feeling inspired and creative to make art, and I just wonder how??? How are you not banging your head against a wall instead of painting it? Anyway, it’s a lot of spraypainting/artist au Zayn come to life, with Liam working out shirtless nearby and heaping praise on just about every single thing Zayn puts on the wall (awwwww). Also some nice Flicker reference points (Niall: “Zayn, will you draw a picture of me?” Zayn: “No. I don’t like you”). Ouch.

We come back to Rebecca, an opera singer who’s here to sing some tweets, and this is a horrible idea that Ben Winston stole from Jimmy Kimmel, right? When he used to have Josh Groban sing tweets a million years ago? Anyway, this ripoff doesn’t work because nobody can really understand the words, but credit to Louis for trying to cheat and speed this whole thing up:

When Rebecca finishes, Louis says he got emotional (Niall just laughs), and this poor girl says not to worry, she’ll do more later, and lmao at Louis: “Oh, OH, there’s more in store, Niall” (Niall: “Can’t wait”), sighhhhh, it’s torture for us all, tbh. Anyway, time for some Belgian VT and reinforcement that Louis’s part Belgian, which is why it’s super relevant, I guess.

The last bit is back to Dynamo, to redo the magic bit that failed with Harry in hour two. I’m still curious about this trick because there’s a piece of paper locked in this box (Harry’s dick holds the key to it), and tl/dr, Harry says April for the month an hour ago, but Louis says November, and sure enough, November plus all the other details are in this locked box. HMMMMM. Me as Harry’s finger delivering the key immediately in this segment, meaning he’s literally right there watching all of it. Pick someone supportive, etc.

Anyway, back to the trick, there’s a bit where Louis says he told Dynamo all this information earlier (Niall starts chewing his nails a bit ferociously at that), but then he backpedals brilliantly later about what an amazing, stunning trick, etc., and this group of sneaky liars, god, I love ‘em!

We get more terrible highlights, which sucks, because I kind of liked the way Louis was asking Niall what HIS highlights were, but never mind, let’s get Ben’s. I’ll leave you with this picture that makes me think of Louis hosting Family Feud, you know, the final round, when you have to see how your answers stacked up with a family member’s and if, together, you cleared 200 (“Name someone a person may confess a crime to”):

So, I’m sorry this’ll be long, but I’m v interested in your perspective on this: how do u think this series of events: the werewolf prank, coupled w Sirius leaving home the very summer after that prank - played out from Remus’s perspective? Bc the prank might’ve confirmed to Remus all fears that Sirius dehumanised him & was way more like his family than they all thought, & maybe he was partly right on both counts. [1]

But I’ve never been able to disconnect Sirius’s leaving home from this incident (we know it happened the summer after the Prank bc that’s the only summer he could’ve been @ GP when he was 16, which is when he tells Harry that he left). & I have to wonder if Sirius so definitively siding against his upbringing (which ofc meant siding against a lot of toxic ideas, but their idea of werewolves being subhuman - given how Bellatrix talks about Remus & Tonks - is included in that) [2]

played a role in Remus forgiving Sirius to whatever extent for that prank. Bc it showed that if he was more like them than he could admit, he at least did NOT want to be, he wanted to be with James, Remus and Peter instead. It’s a different mindset from having an idea about werewolves and constant conviction that your idea is right; so given that, I’m wondering how Remus would’ve responded to it.[3]

I know it’s canon Remus forgave him, but tbh I’ve always had trouble working out the exact logistics of WHY - at least w/out bringing Wolfstar into it. [4]

Right, so firstly let me apologize to you and all the askers still waiting for me and my serious lack of response. It’s not personal, and it has everything to do with me and how I’m a complete mess of a human being. I take hours writing and formulating responses to asks and because it takes so long I end up setting aside a few hours just to answer one ask, and that feels like a big stress (and what if I can’t focus blah blah) so I end up getting stressed, and then avoid it for what feels like a month and surprise, it’s been six. .. Or more. So. Uh. … Sorry.

So anyway, digging in to the core of the post:

I think we have to begin by examining firstly Sirius’ callousness and how it relates to his background with Remus. I do think that Remus was aware that Sirius could be downright abusive if he was left alone, and I would cite the way that JKR says Sirius’ features become like a dog with a scent at the sight of Snape: Sirius is an excitable person in that it was easy for him to lose track of what he was doing. When he zeroes in on something, there is a massive capacity for escalation. If ever there was a heat-of-the-moment excuse, Sirius’ face would be pictured with it. And while I think Remus and the others were aware of this (and of course it was something that Remus dealt with as a Prefect) I think it was something that they begrudgingly accepted as a part of Sirius that they, as a group, could try and help to subvert. Of course, with James “Arrogant Toe-Rag” Potter at his side, it wasn’t always easy to do the right thing. This is why someone like Peter helped to balance the group: a second voice of reason (though one not well-respected and one which was often overlooked, to be fair, but nonetheless). That isn’t to say that Sirius is a violent sociopath or that he’s unstable, but he was clearly a reckless, head-first, and very proud sort of teenager who would certainly shoot first and ask questions later.

It’s easy to surmise that based on Sirius’ overall character and where he comes from, he didn’t grow up to be someone with a lot of emotional maturity. I think to a teenage Sirius especially, other people’s experiences weren’t as valid as his own. Other people mattered to him, clearly, but I think it was more that only the people he loved mattered above all else. And even with those he did care about, there was somewhat of a hierarchy: James, to Sirius, was like a brother. Like blood. James was family, and if anyone ever hurt James Sirius would destroy them. I think Remus was very important to Sirius, and Peter, too. But I think outside of James there was this sort of dispensability: to Sirius, he was always waiting to be abandoned by the people he loved. He loves Remus and Peter just as he loves James, but there’s something he can’t let go of and for whatever reason he doesn’t let them as near to him as James. And as far as other people? I think Sirius was wary. Un-trusting at best, and a bit of a “get them before they get me” kind of man, which on top of his emotional immaturity allowed him to be able to hurt people like Snape and not think much of it. It didn’t matter because the people Sirius cared about were having fun, and so was he. Snape (etc) didn’t matter, not in the long run. It’s also important to remember that Sirius was raised from birth to be someone for whom other (read: lesser) people dealt with the consequences of his actions. I think this would have been tempered somewhat by living among his friends at Hogwarts for so long, but it brings us back to the thing with Snape and such and how Sirius seemed not to have a line drawn in the sand–that is, no line that was too far to cross, no act that was too reprehensible. A detention served for bullying Snape was to Sirius an annoyance to be escaped from, not a punishment. His rejection by people like Lily was their problem to deal with, not his. I would argue that there is a sense of nobility in there as well, and that Sirius didn’t come down on those he didn’t feel deserved it. But that means that regardless of his intentions Sirius could justify whatever it was he was doing, because it was for him, or more importantly, for those he loved.

Going back to Remus, I don’t think Sirius ever did consider Remus subhuman or anything like that. I do think there was a time around their initial discovery where Sirius had to confront the ideas he’d been taught about werewolves and that he decided (likely alongside and with the help of James and Peter) that Remus was none of those things and was a normal human, and their friend. I think it was more that Sirius just didn’t think of the consequences, or what it would mean for Remus that the Prank happened at all, because Sirius wasn’t the type of person for whom consequences truly mattered and that he just never got far enough in his train of thought to really consider Remus in all of it. Remus is someone Sirius is used to seeing constantly coping–whether it’s coping with his Furry Little Problem, or coping with the things that Sirius and James do for “fun”. Sirius may have just assumed that Remus would simply cope with this, too. He’s got enough practice with people being angry at him that he’s not scared of whatever Remus will say.

In the aftermath, I don’t think Sirius actually felt bad about what he had done. I think he knew full well that he had done something wrong, but that it was easier for him to understand and deal with the fact that Remus was in a great deal of pain rather than for him to understand the why’s about wrongness. For all his emotional immaturity I think Sirius understands pain, and I think it was really the scale of that pain which drove him to be apologetic and explain his intentions–which, I would bet, sent Remus up the wall, because Sirius didn’t actually have bad intentions towards him and yet through sheer carelessness had done something horrific.

Rather than resulting in any great insight into why Sirius is the way he is, I have a feeling it was more that what saved their relationship was that brotherly bond that they both held for one another. I do think there was this shock initially about the whole thing, where Remus would have been distraught enough to think that maybe Sirius was just like his whole family, etc. etc. But, I think Remus would have eventually come down enough to really think about who Sirius is and what he represents by rebelling against his family in the past (as he had by accepting Remus as a friend and confidant, for example). I think Remus would have (with James’ help) really reflected on Sirius as a whole person, because the significance of the incident really merited a sit-down tbh. I think Remus decided that Sirius was his friend, his brother, and that while what he had done was horrific that he could take precautions not to let it happen again and that what mattered was that Sirius’ intentions were never to hurt him. Sirius realizing that he had caused Remus a significant amount of pain (again with James’ help to deal with it) would have more than likely seen him try to restore his good graces with Remus, though attempts to justify what he had done would have made it worse. I think for SIrius, saying “I fucked up and I admit that I fucked up” were enough for Remus at a certain point, because he knew that it was the closest Sirius could come to “I did something wrong and I apologize.”Remus, ever the self-sacrificing and deeply loving soul, probably forgave Sirius out of compassion. He saw that Sirius was not deliberately trying to ruin him, but that he was also a complete idiot. I think he made the decision to forgive knowing that the hurt would never truly go away, and knowing down the road that he needed to go about things differently after what happened. I think James was also a big buffer between their animosity as well, and that he really helped them move on.

(However. I think it’s worth mentioning that rather than after his escape from Grimmauld place, I think this might be something that Sirius reflected on in Azkaban, actually. I think this is part of why he’s a little less guns blazing in the rest of the series–that, and certainly his need to protect Harry, whom he loved like a son.)

Just a quick one to refute a few points against the necessity of a Jon/Sansa union:

Expansion post HERE.

So, the common belief among the stans of that pairing is that Jon and Sansa must marry because supposedly, when Jon is found to be the son of Rhaegar, not Ned Stark, the Northern Lords will cast him aside, exile him...or something...? And Sansa will need to marry him to shelter him, protect him, or...something? (Side note, why not Arya...? Seems either could be sufficient for this).

Then, one of the other common beliefs against my girl Dany, is that Dany will not be on the Iron Throne at the end of GOT/ASOIAF because she will die, be executed by Jon, something equally idiotic, blah blah blah, and, though some people may not believe Jon is the actual heir, they will choose him as their king and he will be King of the Seven Kingdoms.

However...

THESE TWO IDEAS ARE CONFLICTING.

The first common belief relies on two different assumptions that must come to pass EARLY next season. 1) that Jon’s heritage will become general knowledge for all the lords of the North and 2) that once the Norther lords find out Jon’s heritage (if they do), they will be displeased to the point that Jon is in some kind of danger that necessitates him marrying Sansa (or Arya, just saying).

However, with assumption 1 - that Jon’s heritage will become common knowledge - we don’t know IF Jon will let Bran and co tell everyone his heritage or if the few who know will tell everyone on their own - and if Sansa tells people behind his back, then that’s her plotting against him which is definitely not a recipe for romance or trust. Jon could go the whole season with only a select few knowing who he really is. There’s really no reason for the Northern lords to find this info out unless either Jon, Sansa or Dany tells them. Bran likely wouldn’t, he’s a zombie. Sam likely wouldn’t, he’s Jon’s best friend. And Arya likely wouldn’t, he’s her favorite sibling. So that leaves the above three. Jon might tell them because he’s honorable and doesn’t like to keep secrets. Dany might tell them because she’d be marrying him, making him still their rightful king (which could appease them enough to where they don’t want to rebel against her - if she really hated the idea of him having any kind of claim to the throne and saw him as a threat, she wouldn’t want this known). And Sansa might tell them against Jon’s wishes to undermine him and further get the Northern Lords on her side. And don’t message me about her not undermining Jon. I already covered that in my RESPECT post so read that if you don’t believe me. Just had another thought on Sansa. She might tell the Northern Lords to get them to see Jon as rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms to undermine Daenerys but that still wouldn’t necessitate her marrying him because if she tries to do this, it’ll be to gain their support for him over Dany, not so they oppose him, so point still moot.

Assumption 2 that the Northern Lords will be displeased IF they find out Jon’s heritage is also a bit of a gamble. The Wall is down. A hundred thousand dead men and a wight dragon are coming for them all as I type this. Shit is about to go down. They really don’t have time to worry about the heritage of a former king who already bent the knee to someone else. The Northern Lords could complain, could accuse Jon of knowing his heritage the whole time and manipulating them, but it’s highly unlikely. And if they did find out about his real parents, well, they already chose him and named him their king so joke’s on them...? They already chose a Targaryen to lead them. And he did a fucking great job. He got them weapons. Fire breathing dragons. And an army large enough to match their enemies (plural, Night King AND Cersei) and stand a chance of winning. So what the fuck do they have to complain about? If anything, the Norther Lords should be just as mad at Ned Stark as Jon will likely be. They have no reason to hate Jon for being a Targaryen. They may be miffed at him for bending the knee, but again, Jon did that because he didn’t have the resources to help them and the queen he bent the knee to did. Like Jon tells Dany, she deserves to be their queen. She saved him. She’s coming to save the rest of the North. She’s earned it. So their displeasure, if any, will be on that - the bending the knee - not Jon’s parentage.

And if the Northern Lords do act out, want to name Sansa their queen, cast Jon aside, rebel against Dany when she’s coming to help them and save them, it’s unlikely Jon will want to appease them by marrying Sansa. He’d be pissed at them for continuing to be stubborn asses. He didn’t placate them when he was their king, and he certainly won’t do so now that he’s just their Warden, or if they cast him aside completely. What motive would he have? Marry his sister to gain the favor of a few lords who don’t like him and have disrespected him since day one? NO. He’d side with the chick who’s got a fucking huge army, dragons, would accept him, he’s fallen in love with, has been letting him into her bed every night for the last month and a half, and is going to be found carrying his child. THAT’S who Jon would side with if the Northern Lords forced him to choose. Duh.

Jon’s not a fucking pushover. “That is my decision and my decision is final.” “With respect your grace I don’t need your permission. I am a king.” What makes people think that the man who said these things would choose to marry his sister so that the disrespectful Northern Lords will accept him again? Like, really?

Also, when would this fabled Jon/Sansa wedding take place? Episode One? Because if, as theory two speculates, the people will choose Jon because he will save them all in the War for the Dawn and prove himself an amazing leader and king, etc. etc....then why would Jon marry Sansa again? This belief argues people will choose him. So he wouldn’t need to marry anyone as he’d already be picked as king. So then if he’s chosen as king, he could marry for love. And as I stated in my RESPECT post, Jon and Sansa do not romantically love each other. So if they’re not marrying at the end of the season when the War for the Dawn likely ends, they’re marrying at the beginning of the season when things are still chaotic. And who the fuck really believes we’ll get at Jon/Sansa wedding in episode 1/2?? The general audience would be sooooooo confused. After all, why would GOT set up Jon and Dany last season and have their season arcs end with them making love to each other if Jon is only going to marry his sister at the beginning of next season? It would make ZERO sense.

And again, they’ve got too much to do in the first few episodes. They’ve got to reveal Jon’s parentage, show Jon and Dany arriving at Winterfell, show how they’re going to deal with The Wall being down, somehow it would have to get out that Jon is a Targaryen to the Northern Lords so a little time would have to pass for them to both get the info (after Jon arrives and gets the info) and then to decide they don’t like it, and then to decide they want Jon and Sansa to marry to make them happy and then for Jon and Daenerys to be like, okay, that’s a good plan...? NO. It just...I just...RDJ face when Mantis says “kick names and take ass.” NO. No sense to be had here.

It’s all talking in circles, arguing in circles, no logic, no sense. NO.

(2) re: ‘traitor’ discourse, i was glad that anon put it into words. i guess my subconscious too 'blames’ jy (baro less so, despite him being the one who is apparently more eager to move on. bc my gut said he checked out (of the whole idol thing) long before they split. so him leaving, dropping his stage name feels like a logical conclusion, good for him tbh). while jy used to insist b1a4 were forever and jinx schminx etc (as recently as their anni?), but is now happy to be doing his own thing?(3) i immediately hate myself for saying that bc i really do love him and think link8 is adorable and trying very hard where wm failed. i know bayoung left wm, not b1a4, and they might not be pandering and we will actually get ot5 somewhere down the line. or j ground producing for ot3 (wow). I wonder what all their relationships are right now too. Probably is safe to say there is a ‘divide’ of some sorts between A3 and Bayoung, though it’s also likely safe to say this divide isn’t necessarily equal between all the members; i.e., CNU being the more introspective and sensitive person he is, probably feels more of a wall between Bayoung then say, Sandeul. Gongchan is probably somewhere in the middle, albeit closer to CNU’s feelings. The fact we’ve heard next to nothing from him isn’t particularly reassuring, either. Whether they all feel like ‘bros’ still or not, I guess remains to be seen. But I’m still partial to thinking that their bond is too deep for it to be cut off, and I believe in due time they all will be close (enough) again. Interesting dream though! Yeah, Jinyoung def got the spotlight in that MV 😅

Interesting how so many of you seem to share those same thoughts about Jinyoung and Baro (though it seems to different extents and towards either one or the other more)… idk, I still can’t quite get on that train. This isn’t to say that I agree with all of their choices, but I think because I just wasn’t surprised with them leaving (more so that I was surprised that the rest stayed with WM tbh) hearing that news didn’t cause such a sharp pain that is seeming to stick with the rest of you. Jinyoung to me was always the biggest go-getter of the group, so of course he’d jump at the opportunity to put his skills and talents to the test and create his own thing (company? studio? remains to be seen– hope we find out more soon). And Baro, like you said, definitely seemed over it. I wrote about it months ago at this point, of him being just done with idol life so again, him leaving was something that was super shocking. Also in the post I just linked, is where Jinyoung talks about them still having ‘lots to work on’ and yada yada about the 7 year jinx, and how it’s CNU who confesses he is worried about members leaving. Very interesting to look back on that now, from their DINGO drunk Rollin’ rendition, almost a year(!) ago. Idk if CNU was already getting hints of things shifting and changing, but he clearly felt it, whereas Jinyoung was hesitant to say anything but the normal, expected answer. I get it, it seems a bit shady tbh, to hear how Jinyoung was still spewing out ot5 forever answers and then is the one the winds up leaving, going on overdrive promoting, and even using B1A4′s tagline as his own (which obviously, I was a bit meh about that whole thing). But again, I think we really just need to give him a chance and hear him out. I really do hope that at his fanmeet, we will be given more answers from him.

Don’t feel to guilty about your feelings~! It’s understandable you are feeling this way. It’s important to try and stay realistically optimistic about it. Bayoung still consider themselves B1A4, and while we likely won’t get an ot5 soon, there are still plenty of other options that can happen down the line. I’m looking forward to it.

Agree with both of your thoughts of Baro vs Jinyoung leaving. Baro was likely wanting to just get out of the idol lifestyle, whereas Jinyoung still seems very much connected with the fans and the industry, instead just wanting his own creative freedoms. It isn’t something you can really blame them for one way or the other; at the end of the day, they’re both free to do as they please now that their contracts are up. My biggest question would be when did each come to this conclusion– for example, I feel that Baro has been pretty over it all for some time, and the last straw may have just been the rumors of his girlfriend and lovestagram & attitude controversies. Whereas with Jinyoung.. that’s an interesting case. I could see that being a much more recent development, which was why A3 seemed particularly shocked in their statements when the news initially broke out June 30th. I’d love to know– but we probably never will.

Where did I go wrong? A few months back, I backed out of a parking place and stopped, waiting for traffic behind me to resolve itself. While stopped, a large vehicle backed into my driver side door. We both re-parked. The other driver first tried to convince me there was no damage and we should both forget it but after I showed him the damage to my door (his car had almost no damage), we exchanged insurance and personal contact information in a friendly conversation. I reported the damage to my insurance carrier, a large national firm, obtained the required 2 estimates for repair and submitted it, as directed by my carrier and his, to his carrier, a large regional carrier. They informed me he had decided my car was not stopped and so I bore responsibility for his backing his car into me (!), and they therefore were refusing to pay me. My insurance carrier said it was up to me to provide proof my car wasn't moving, regardless of the fact his car backed into mine! I approached the repair firm, and they provided me with photos and offered testimony to state that my car was obviously stopped, based on the damage to the door. I called the individual and said with this information unless he paid the bill in full, I would take him to small claims court. He argued but produced a check for the full amount. A month later, my insurance carrier raised my rate based on this incident and a highway speeding ticket over a year ago. I ended up paying more for my insurance and lost a great deal of time despite both of us being insured. Where did I go wrong?""

History/Life: Ahkira had a fairly good childhood, until she lost her mom. When she was 5 her mother became very ill, after a few months her mother passed away and both her and her father were crushed. Why... would Levi care?

She ran into erwin who was on a search looking for her, with out any resistance she willingly went with them to the survey corps, 2-3 years later she went up in ranks to lieutenant. Her whole personality changed back to the way it used to be when she was little and her right eye turned back to the original color.

This... Do your research for the AoT fandom. Do you even watch the anime? Read the Manga? Titans don’t have long hair, Heterochromia isn’t a thing in AoT. Just... No. I have nothing left to say.

anonymous: i think it's abuse, but i'm not quite sure.

so, years ago, middle school-early high school, my mom got more physical. Used to grab me by the arms or shoulders, if she grabbed by arms + dug her nails in i would too. one time she slammed me against a wall and started hitting/punching? me (cant remember entirely). didnt leave marks like bruises or anything, just red fr little while. eventually she got less and less physical, and then hasn’t hit me in… idk, awhile. at least a year probably. But was this physical abuse?

aside from that, ever since i can remember, she has a horrible temper. Calls us all names. When I was younger, elementary school-ish, I remember calling my cousin a bastard. I didn’t know it was a bad word because my mom called me + my brothers that sometimes. I figured it wasn’t as bad as “bitch” because she said it less, or something. She has called me names like that, and worse things like “cunt” countless times. Same w my brothers. But a lot of times we get into a screaming match and I say mean things too. but I think that’s a newer development. Eventually I got fed up of taking it and started yelling back instead of crying and just letting her make me feel like shit. I remember a time in elementary school she told me to go drown in the shower. I remember because I was in some fandom chat room thing and I was sad, and I told them what she’d said and they (mostly older kids, teenagers) were all horrified and comforted me and stuff.

Also I’m a lesbian, and this was a five-ish year long ordeal that began with her first stealing my phone in 8th grade-ish and reading my text to a friend saying I thought I was bisexual. It was turned into me “hurting her” because she couldn’t handle it being in “her family”. She wanted me to just try being with a boy. I never have and never will. After getting a girlfriend in senior year of highschool, and after she talked to some close friends of hers, she became more accepting. But before then, and even after that point sometimes, she’d still call me a dyke when she was mad, usually over my appearance.

Which always has been and apparently always will be a huge thing for her, too. I don’t like makeup much. I’m pretty feminine but I don’t really do my hair or makeup ever. I just brush my hair, that’s about it. This always upsets my mom. My grandpa who recently died was in the hospital a year or two ago, and she yelled and screamed at me before we went to visit him the first time because after she asked me, I told her I wasn’t intending to put on makeup. She was telling me she never wanted to be seen in public with me if I didn’t have makeup on, telling me I “look like a piece of shit without it,” etc. In high school she’d often have to pick me up because of doctor’s appointments (I have many physical disabilities/ am chronically ill / have mental illnesses) and so often she wouldn’t even say “hi,” or “how are you,” but rather her first thing would be “Wow, all these other girls come out of school looking so wonderful, I want to cry when I see that disheveled mess is my daughter.” I remember so many times doing my best not to cry in the car, looking out the window at the clouds or the sun thinking it would help me not to cry because that was letting her win or whatever, or at least I thought so. I would just say “I don’t care” over and over again because arguing with her obviously did no good and just made her yell more. But even though I really have no desire to do my hair and makeup every day and look super pretty, her comments did get to me. I’m a freshman in college right now and sometimes I’ll apologize to my best friend / roommate for looking like shit and she’ll have to really convince me that I don’t. My mom’s disparaging comments really stick with me even now. I’ll walk out the door and feel super self conscious and have my mom’s words echoing in my head but still not actually do anything about it (do my hair, or makeup, that kind of thing).

But I’m not perfect. I forget things a lot. Like if she tells me to do something I might just forget to do it. Or if she wants me to clean and I just can’t find the motivation to do it. Or if I do it but I don’t do it well enough. It gets into this awful cycle where I don’t do something and she gets mad, and then I get depressed so I just lay on my bed and do nothing, therefore making her more mad, etc etc. It’s hard because she has chronic pain too from a surgery that went wrong like 16 years ago that messed up her leg.

And when she’s nice to me, I really do love her. She’ll help me calm down from panic attacks and she brings me to doctors and gets me the medicines that I need. I was in the hospital a month or so ago and she drove down to my college (4 hours away) at midnight just to be there with me since I had to stay overnight.

It’s like, I know she loves me. And the first few weeks of winter break back in December were good. But if I stay home long enough she goes back into how things were before I left for college. Eventually the honeymoon sort of phase wears away, and she’s back to treating me like shit, and I’m back to wanting to go away to college again. Right before I went back to college I remember she said something about how I do nothing for her no matter how she talks to me, “whether she’s nasty or sweet as pie to me”, and I responded in frustration that she was always nasty to me. And at that moment I was doing dishes as she told me to do, and she came up next to me and started slamming dishes down and told me to get out of her sight, to not do the dishes and to do them later when she was gone so she didn’t have to see me. But at that time, she was trying to get off of cymbalta, which apparently has horrible withdrawal symptoms. So I guess it made her temper even worse. When she was slamming stuff I flinched, I really thought she was going to hit me (she hadn’t in a while). But she didn’t. But I still flinch at sudden movements in daily life–yesterday in the dorm bathroom as I walked out, someone walked in, and I flinched really violently just because I hadn’t seen them coming (pretty embarrassing lol).

Also not sure how common this is, but when other people around me get into arguments I get really anxious? My best friend’s family treats me like their own, and her cousin+cousin’s husband took us out for dinner, and on the way home they got into a disagreement and I got unbearably anxious, I actually had to do deep breathing exercises to try and keep myself calm. I get kinda anxious just thinking about it. The people involved have never yelled, they’re always super nice to me and each other–it was a perfectly civil disagreement that they were in, just very passive-aggressive tbh. But it never escalated. They just kinda bickered and then we got to our destination and they solved the problem, and that was that.

I don’t know where I’m going with this. That first thing I mentioned, about her shoving me against the wall, happened like 5 years ago. I thought I was over it until I tried explaining it to my best friend and ended up a sobbing mess in the process–I couldn’t even talk. I angrily mentioned it to my mom at some point more recently and she laughed at me, saying she “barely touched me” and making fun of me in front of my brother, who joined in saying how ridiculous I was being and laughing at me. That experience has made me really question everything, to be honest. My mom has a lot of shit to deal with, and I’m not the best daughter in the world, far from it. I get good grades but that’s about all I’m good at, all I can be counted on for. Or at least that’s how it seems to me. I can’t tell if how she treats me is normal, and I’m overreacting, or if it’s abusive, or if she’s just angry at me and I deserve it. Any advice on that front? I’m sorry this got so long.

yes, what you're describing is abuse! grabbing you, and punching strikes as a really hateful and cruel physical abuse, only a person who really wanted to hurt you would do such a thing. Being called names also comes from a hateful place, and it can hurt so much when it comes from a parent, because they're not supposed to hate you, they're supposed to care, calling you names shows that they didn't care at all, they saw you as something that is there for them to hurt. Presenting your sexual orientation as something hurtful to them is so cruel and vicious, they wanted you to feel horrible about who you are! As if something is wrong with that! I'm really glad you never want to be with a boy. Calling you names for merely being who you are is really hurtful, again, something she does only to harm you. Hatred over your appearance is also something really abusive and crushing, it can affect you really deeply that people can hate you merely because they don't approve of the way you look, and that's terrifying, even more when it comes from a family member. She made you feel like she'd rather have someone else for a daughter, merely because of your looks, that is just too cruel. It doesn't matter if you're perfect or not, you haven't deserved this kind of abuse, someone who cares about you would never do any of those things, because they shouldn't think that you deserve to be hurt. Helping you calm down and bringing you medicine are such basic things, it's really not much, even if it means much to you because you don't really get much affection so even the smallest gesture can feel like love. You deserve more than that. Your mom is abusive and a few basic things she does can't change that. I don't believe a person who hurts you that badly can truly love you and care about your well being. You can't just love a child when you feel like it, and then hate it when you feel like hating it. That's sick. It seems you recognized the cycle of abuse and you know what's going on. I'm glad you're so bright and know a lot of things are wrong. You are scared of her. You're anxious in arguments. She's obviously capable of hurting you a lot, and you know it's not safe for you around her. It's really painful to live around a person like that, and you shouldn't be subjected to that.Probably the most scary thing is how she pretends nothing happens, minimizes the pain she caused to you and tries to excuse her actions and gaslight what you know happened. That kind of psychological abuse can drive a person crazy, and you shouldn't be put thru that, just for the sake of her getting away with it.
