uhh oh!!! unexpected hospital stay 🤪

last night i fell flat on my stomach tripping over absolutely nothing, so i went in to get checked. everything looks fine aside from a scraped hand and knee but they kept me for overnight monitoring just in case. this, of course, happened while jose is out of town, so ngl chat it was a rough time!!! baby spent the entire night gettin funky, blissfully unaware of her mom's moment of lonely mortal terror.

I've never had the nuts to ask but idk how much this stay will cost and I'll be officially without an income in two weeks. anything you could throw my way would be so appreciated. 💛

Oh bless you, anon! Regrettably, neither of those things, no. My appetite has been very poor since my surgery, and I'm more than a little sleep deprived with all the jobs I'm juggling at the moment - buuut... I'm alive. My head is good. My work is good. Always manage to make everyone happy, oh, yes sir, but can't wait to pass out for a whole day and then hang out with some friends. It'll heal me.

OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

"You... wish to seek shelter from me?"

Lightning flashed, revealing the way the vampire's, Satoru as you had recently learned his name, eyes glinted in the light as they peaked out from the strands of his white hair, a shade too bright blue that it almost blinded you, in a sense. You flinched, looking away from the vampire lord, your hands wringing into the fabric of your long jacket.

"I... I am terribly sorry, my Lord." You stammered, taking a step back. "I just... I just need a place to stay for the night and then I'll be out of your hair-"

"You're not even afraid of me?" He asked, his voice sounding quite coy. "Are you new here? Don't you know what I am?"

You nodded, trying to will your hands to stop shaking but your nerves were too high wracking your body in a way that was hard to subdue.

"I-I do." You managed to say, still not looking at him. "But, I'd prefer to find shelter in the rain with you than with my... previous companions."

Satoru cocked his head to one side, leaning forward until he was but a hairsbreadth away from your face. His eyes darted to your neck, wondering what it would it be like to pierce the supple flesh.

"Oh really...?" He asked quietly, sounding rather amused. "And why would you want to stay with me? I'm sure you know what I do with my guests."

"I can... be of use to you." You said, looking back at him and flinching when you felt his nose brush against yours.

You took several steps back, feeling quite flustered as you stared at the handsome and infamous man that was the Vampire Lord, Satoru Gojo. You were a bit taken aback when his eyes darkened slightly.

"You can be of use to me?" He asked, his voice dropping an octave in a way that nearly had you swooning, despite the danger.

It was no wonder that vampires were like the temptuous snakes that snuck into the Garden of Eden.

You nodded slowly. "I... have information that I believe you'd find relevant."

"How interesting." Satoru opened the door wider, a smirk on his lips, which revealed his sharp fangs. "Please, come in. Let us discuss this over some cool wine and hot broth, hm? I'm sure we can make an excellent partnership."

The way he said that last word with several different implications sent a shiver up your spine.

"Thank you, my Lord." You said, bowing your head.

"I am glad to be of service to those on my land. In whatever means necessary."

You understand that sub Eddie is a term used and tagged widely by the entire Eddie fandom and all Eddie ships right? Totally fair to only want your event to be Steddie but you could have picked a more specific name instead of just borrowing one that already exists for everyone. It’s not fair to bring hate to people that are just minding their business with no idea this event is even happening but now they have people commenting on their shit that other ships aren’t allowed. Being rude because you didn’t know an event had commandeered the term sub Eddie for the week. There’s enough hate in this space already.

We picked the name because it was available! Any other event group could have done the same if we hadn't, but out of all the other media and ships that involve someone named Eddie, no one did. Any other event can pick their own, more specific name, too, if they want.

Trust us, we understand being hated in our fan communities, but this ask is a waste of our time and yours. We just finished up our second year with this being a Steddie-only event, so this isn't a new thing we suddenly "commandeered," and we didn't consider anyone would see it that way when we picked our name. Assuming we had malicious intent over something so small like this is unfair.

The standalone Sub Eddie Munson tag can be used by anyone at ANY time and we've never said anything to the contrary. This is part of why we specified this year to tag our specific blog (which has all our rules pinned and easy to find so there should be minimum confusion as to what/who this event is for) because other people use the same tags we use.

All we have asked is that people don't use our event collection on AO3 for unrelated works which is really reasonable seeing as we personally made the collection and moderate it ourselves. If there are other events going on, event moderators should be making their own collections. If there isn't another event going on, people shouldn't be using a random moderated event collection anyway.

No one speaks for our event except for the official social media pages and we are unaware of any conflict happening in other places. Sorry this is happening, but we didn't ask for that and that's the fault of people who think they can backseat-moderate an event they aren't actually involved with.

And to anyone who feels the need to comment on works they feel don't "fit," the only official fics for our event are in our official collection on AO3 that we have linked numerous times, or they are reblogged on our official social medias. If it's not here or in the collection, it's entirely separate and you shouldn't be speaking for the event. We have given you a way to read only fics for this event by moderating the collection ourselves, so looking elsewhere is the fault of your own, not the writers simply using the sub Eddie tag.

tl;dr - you can use the sub Eddie Munson tag, literally nobody cares. Other events can pick their own names, we took it because it was available. Just don't use collection we personally made or randomly tag our URL/@ and we don't have an issue because we moderate our event and show everyone what's actually part of it. No one speaks for our event except for us, so stop doing that if you are.

Been thinking about idw1's outliers lately, and how sort of wild the whole concept is from a worldbuilding standpoint, and it struck me that most confirmed outlier abilities tend to be really useful, or flashy, or powerfully dangerous, and few to none tend to be like, really boring, or totally impractical, or even entirely useless? Which, doesn't really make sense when considering the fact that outlier abilities are seemingly random.

Surely not everyone who's born an outlier gets something useful?

And I don't mean like, "good" useful, but any sort of useful, even if that means you can kill people with your voice, or give a power boost by exploding yourself, those are still "useful".

But surely there had to be some with abilities that were totally impractical, or nonbeneficial, or at the very least just insignificant or purely aesthetic and pointless?
