Charles’s Angel(s)
Ch.12
Charles Leclerc x Reader
Author’s Note: FYI, if you haven’t been following along closely since chapter 2, I had the OC be Indian/a brown girl— Just because I felt like we don’t get enough representation. So if you don’t like that, I guess just either live with it, or blur that piece of information out as you go. Also: did I use some random ass generator wheel for some of the super specific information? Yes. Will I change it? Probably not. Did I check if that kinda stuff was even possible? …Mayhaps.
When you finally make it into the restaurant and sit down to order, you immediately spot multiple people, mostly young women, pulling out their phones, trying to (not so) discreetly take photos and videos of the two of you. You could just imagine the headlines and hashtags trending the next day.
Charles is immune to this by now and smiles and waves at some of the phones, and ignores the majority of the others.Â
Biting your lip, you scan through the menu. “Charles?”
“Hmm?”
“Would you mind recommending me something? I’ve never been here before”.
“Sure Chéri. Is there anything you don’t or can’t consume? I hate to assume, but I know that lots of Indians are vegetarian”.
“Ah, no. My family and I eat everything, so no worries”.
He orders a Tourte de Blettes for you and a Pissaladiere for himself.
“So. Tell me more about yourself.”
Not knowing how to go about this, you think for a while. “Well, I’m Indian, but I was born in Singapore, and brought up in America”. You count off a finger. “I was certified to be a music producer at a very young age, sometime in secondary school and I have a degree in forensic science. I really love singing, but usually only in my free time. I've actually been working at a producing studio here”. You scrunch your brows trying to recall any interesting details about yourself. “Um, I’m also a dance choreographer for a lot of Korean idol groups and produce music for them too, so I go over there from time to time… I don’t know. What exactly do you want to know?”
When you meet Charles’s eyes again, he’s looking at you with an adoring expression on his face. “You’re so cute, like a little angel. Mon ange” (My angel).
You blush in embarrassment. He asks you more about why you chose your major and what it’s like working with idols while you wait for your meals. “I’d love to hear you sing sometime”.
Just then, the waiter comes with your dishes. Whew, saved by the food! The aromas wafting off the delicious looking dishes are absolutely mouth watering, as if the sights weren’t enough. You begin to split your food in half, and he asks what you’re doing. “Oh- well, my family and I always split our meals equally to try everything, Sorry, I did that out of habit– I can take the piece back–”
“I think I quite like that idea. Here”, He splits his meal and gives it to you as well.Â
…
After dinner, the two of you decide to split the bill, because you were unwilling to let Charles pay in full, regardless of whether or not he earned more than you.Â
As you walk back home, hand-in-hand and discussing common interests, you find yourself leaning your head on his arm, and later, with his arm around your shoulder.Â
When you reach the door to your apartment, he turns to you and moves a strand of hair out of your face. “I liked getting to know you tonight, and I hope you will give me the chance to take you out again”. You make a sound of agreement. Knowing that you aren’t quite ready to have your first kiss yet, you pull him down slightly and get on your tiptoes, kissing his cheek. He smiles and kisses the crown of your head in return, and then ushers you into your home.Â
When he leaves, you send him a text. Thank you for the best first date ever.

Richard Madden x Indian!Fem!Reader
GIF by lulu-tan79
Richard Madden, a successful Scottish businessman, attended his friend's Indian wedding in Singapore. Little did he know that he was about to meet the love of his life. He saw Y/N, a beautiful Indian woman in a green lehenga, and he was smitten. Richard and Y/N started talking and found they had an instant connection. They talked about their interests, their cultures, and their families.
Y/N was raised in Singapore, but her family was originally from India. She was intrigued by Richard's Scottish culture, and he was fascinated by her Indian background. They exchanged numbers and started dating. Richard took Y/N to his homeland, Scotland, and showed her the beauty of his culture. Y/N, in turn, took Richard to India and introduced him to her family's customs and traditions.
However, Y/N's family didn't approve of their relationship. Y/N's father was worried that if their relationship failed, he would lose his job since Richard was his boss. He scolded Y/N and told her to end the relationship. Sara, Y/N's father's friend, constantly talked negatively about Richard and their romance, further adding fuel to the fire.
Despite the family drama, Richard and Y/N's relationship continued to flourish. They shared many comical moments as Y/N struggled to understand Richard's strong Scottish accent. Richard would often tease her, and they would end up laughing for hours.
One day, Y/N's father got angry and created a scene, insulting Richard and asking him to stay away from his daughter. Richard lost his temper and got into a heated argument with Y/N's father. Y/N, caught in the middle, tried to intervene, but her father raised his hand to hit her. Richard, seeing this, went berserk and got into a physical fight with Y/N's father. The scene attracted many onlookers, but Richard didn't care. He would never let anyone harm Y/N, no matter what.
After the fight, Y/N's father realized his mistake and apologized. He saw how much Richard loved his daughter and how much she loved him. Richard and Y/N's relationship was accepted by the family, and they got married in a beautiful ceremony that blended both Scottish and Indian cultures.
As they exchanged their vows, Y/N struggled to hold back her tears, overwhelmed with happiness. She knew that Richard was the one for her, and she was grateful for their comical moments, their love, and the fact that they had overcome so many obstacles to be together.
Richard took Y/N to Scotland, where she experienced his traditional Scottish food, haggis, and tried her best to understand his accent. She found his accent very attractive but often misunderstood what he said, leading to comical moments.
On the other hand, when Richard went to India, he struggled with the spicy food and the heat. He often wore traditional Indian attire, which Y/N found amusing but endearing. She loved seeing him embrace her culture.
Y/N's family eventually warmed up to Richard after seeing how much he loved and cared for her. They also appreciated his efforts to understand their customs and traditions. Clara, Y/N's father's friend, even apologized for her negative behavior towards Richard and Y/N's relationship.
During their wedding ceremony, Richard surprised Y/N by wearing a traditional Indian sherwani. Y/N was speechless, and tears flowed down her cheeks as she realized how much Richard had embraced her culture. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of Scottish and Indian traditions, and they exchanged vows promising to love and cherish each other, in sickness and in health, till death do them part".
As the night went on, the couple danced to a mixture of Indian and Scottish music. Richard tried his best to keep up with the traditional Indian dance moves, but Y/N found it endearing how he would often mess up and make her laugh.
Later that night, as they retreated to their honeymoon suite, Y/N felt a rush of emotions. She was happy to have found the love of her life in Richard, and grateful for the many comical moments they had shared throughout their relationship. As she looked into his eyes, she knew that she had made the right decision in choosing him as her partner.
Richard took her in his arms, and they kissed passionately. The heat between them was undeniable, and they explored each other's bodies with a hunger that only true love could bring.
As they lay in bed, spent and satisfied, Y/N whispered to Richard, "I love you". He smiled at her and said, "I love you too, my beautiful Indian bride".
From that day on, Richard and Y/N lived happily ever after, embracing each other's cultures and creating a beautiful blend of Scottish and Indian traditions. They were grateful for the obstacles they had overcome and the love they had found in each other.

Swinging by Singapore (Week 4)
Hello from Singapore! Having always wanted to travel to Southeast Asia, I was ecstatic to learn that one of my roommates had a similar dream. I couldn’t believe it when we started discussing the trip just two weeks in advance, but I seized the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture. My schooling at UNSW is split between the Summer semester which runs from Jan 2 - Feb 5 and term 1 which runs from Feb 11 - May 9. During the summer semester, I have been taking a single Ecotourism class which is entirely asynchronous until the end of January when the class takes a trip to the Great Barrier Reef! This meant that I could travel with no fear of missing class. After a 9hr flight, Lauren, Charlotte, Shaunak, Evan and I landed in Singapore and got right to exploring. The Jewel is a mall containing the world’s largest indoor waterfall located just outside the Changi Airport. As soon as we got off the plane and laid eyes on the beauty we were speechless. Luscious trees and shrubbery surrounded the waterfall and staggered up all around it. The light shone through the windowed ceiling and made me forget about any stress I ever had. We might as well have been standing in a jungle. The surrounding mall was just as exciting. Several minutes were spent wandering around the Pokemon store where I got a pack of cards in honor of my ever growing childhood collection. The chocolate croll I got at a little bakery stand was one of the best things I had ever eaten in an airport. After 2 hours of exploring, it was clear to me that airports in the US need to step up their game.Â
Utilizing the very reliable train system known as the MRT, we made our way to our AirBnB located in Little India. For reference, Singapore is a melting pot of cultures with a 74% Chinese, 14% Malaysian, and 9% Indian population. This means that when you look around, all signage is in Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, and English. The fact that English is widely spoken across the country made transport and communication extremely easy and not something we had to worry about. After settling into our single room with just enough space for our beds and bags, we made our way towards Kampong Gelam which is Singapore’s Muslim Quarter and the site of the remarkable Sultan Mosque. Starving, we found a restaurant for dinner which was full of new foods and a particular favorite of mine – Kothu Paratha which I’d only ever had at my favorite Indian restaurant in Ann Arbor. We called it a night soon after that, but I was excited to be on a new continent and get right to exploring.Â
The next day we hit all the major stops including Gardens by the Bay, the Cloud Forest, and Marino Bay Sands. The first two attractions, like the Jewel, emphasized the appreciation for nature that Singapore has as many of its major attractions are centered around greenery.Â
Pictured first is Gardens by the Bay. Second is me in the Cloud Forest!
Nearby was a Hawker Center called Satay by the Bay where we got lunch. Hawker Centers in Singapore are essentially large food courts with countless stalls of diverse Indian, Chinese, and Malaysian foods and drinks for incredible prices. On average, you could get a whole meal for about $5 and a side drink for another $1 so needless to say I seized the opportunity to try as many foods as possible. That lunch I had chicken satay, my first ever stingray, carrot cake (a dish local to Singapore containing absolutely no carrot nor cake), and pineapple juice. I can’t even begin to describe how delicious everything tasted so I’m afraid you’ll just have to imagine through the picture below.Â
Hawker Centers like that one are scattered all throughout the city, so we made it a rule to seek them out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At Marino Bay Sands, one of the most unique buildings I have ever stepped foot in, we made our way to a restaurant called Lavo at the highest floor where we got drinks, incredible views, and a 20-layered chocolate peanut butter cake. We may have been exhausted from walking around all day, but we did not leave until that cake plate was clean, even if it meant spending the next hour there.Â
Marino Bay Sands is the building pictured above followed by the equally-as-intimidating chocolate cake.
The next day we ventured to Sentosa Island where you could take cable cars across the island and see the beautiful beaches and various amusement parks. Though the weather wasn’t in our favor, it was nice to see what beaches look like outside of Australia since they reminded me of just how lucky I am to be living on Coogee. Sentosa was followed by Chinatown and Clarke Quay in the evening, both of which are full of rich culture and were a pleasure to roam in. Before our flight to Bali, we concluded our trip with the MacRitchie Treetop Walk where we were greeted by monkeys and even more beautiful greenery.Â
Though we were only able to spend a few days there, I fully intend on returning to Singapore one day and making my way to those Hawker Centers. Until then, back to exploring Australia!
