As a working class American living below the poverty line: fuck Bernie and Pelosi both! There is absolutely no excuse to vote for an ultra-nationalist like Trump: if you voted for him, you are trash. Plain and simple. Trump let Americans die in the streets during covid, and it was absolutely not cheaper before then. I was lucky. I was an essential worker during 2020, and I managed to stay employed throughout Trump's first term. I struggled to pay a $500 rent despite that. Biden raised my wages because Indiana follows federal wage law. When Bernie says that didn't happen: he is a fucking liar.

Another lie Sanders pushes is to say Biden is anti-union. That is complete and utter bullshit. Biden signed executive orders strengthening unions in his first ninety days and is the first president to have ever marched in a Labor strike. To say otherwise is to deny facts that you can just Google. Sanders is a fucking liar who is afraid of losing the white Vermont vote and he can eat shit.

Pelosi is no better if she wants to deny that corruption exists within the party. Hiding from internal problems is a guarantee path to failure every time. The way I see it: they are both looking for ways to make nice with the incoming regime. Fuck them. The Democrats are not going to save us and real leftists have known that for decades.

Why did Harris lose? She didn't get the same votes Biden did in 2020. Plain and simple. Trump's margins did not increase- every body who voted him did it again. Why didn't Biden voters vote for Harris: four reasons:

1. Gaza. Obviously. You can't win the Palestinian vote when you're giving money to the people murdering their friends and family.

2. The Border. Obviously. You can't win the Latino vote when everyone remembers the day you went to the border and cheered on the mounted cavalry you sicced on their friends and family.

3. Sexism/racism. Liberal men suck just as hard as conservative men. Cis straight men are trash: any idiot could've told you that.

4. Appealing to centrists. Obviously. There is no middle ground between us and the people threatening to kill us. Attempting to find that middle ground makes you look weak. Obviously.

Trying to pretend anything else happened is ignorant at best and pandering to Fascists at worst, and wasting time arguing about who really screwed the pooch here does nothing to protect the people that Trump will kill. The Democrats as a whole fucked up for very glaringly obvious reasons. Sanders and Pelosi are equally guilty.

For the real average American and everyone else fucking terrified right now: don't cry, organize. That’s right. Ignore them. Shun them. Turn them off. Don’t follow them online, don’t donate to them, and don’t promote their ventures.

There are differing degrees of self-hate and with these clowns, there are also differing degrees of anti-Blackness.

Each of the aforementioned personalities hate Black people and actively work to harm Black Americans.

Some may not know how anti-Blackness works, and still others may not understand how Black people can be anti-Black, and so let me help those folk understand.

It is easy to understand if politics are used because there are defining lines and definitive actions that clearly represent anti-Blackness.

That is not to say that only republicans can be racist because that idea is absurd in all the ways.

Republican policies are surgically designed to harm Black people as a whole and they target Black individuals such as trans, gay, children, women and girls.

Working at the Black community level we see republicans all over the nation pass laws eliminating teaching Black history, making it harder for Black folk to vote, suspending Black elected officials to utilize their First Amendment rights, enact harsher sentences for crime for us, refuse to expand Obamacare/medicare, and they refuse to dispense funds designated for our communities and instead redirect them to pet republican projects.

Those policies and many others are specifically designed to harm Black people — and those actions are supported by Candace Owens, Charlemagne, Nina Turner and others, and used as comedy fodder by The Shade Room and The Breakfast Club.

They present themselves as the either progressive, Turner, or staunch republican, Owens, but both use their platforms to harm Black people. Oh, they each loudly proclaim they are working to improve Black lives but they aren’t doing any such thing and they know it.

Turner habitually runs for office despite being resoundingly rejected time after time by voters -all voters but especially Black voters who want nothing to do with her foolishness. Seeing her buck-dancing during one of her campaign events and hearing her say that “Voting for Biden is like eating a bowl of shit” are defining moments in a career short on accomplishments and long on grievances. Given that she has long hitched her success to two-time losing presidential candidate Bernie Sanders just further proves she works hard to alienate Black voters and Black people with her contrarian positions.

Candace Owens is an online figure who decided that the best way for her to make money was to establish a foothold in republican media and use her time to bash anything and everything having to do with Black people and blackness. This is after she used the NAACP to help with a discrimination lawsuit years ago. Funny how that works.

The Shade Room is an online gossip website that traffics in salacious half-truths, innuendo, and clickbait tabloid headlines. The site is a cesspool that seek to provide an entertaining and street-level approach to delivering dirty and salacious news about celebrities, athletes, and politicians. Most of their targets are Black and POC who dred seeing their name and photos are the latest target of the gossip website and trending across social media.

The garbage they push, like The Breakfast Club, is slanted to harm the targets but disguise it with “humor” and “shit-talking”, so that the ugliness is an aftertaste that sticks with the reader/listener long after the ingest the their crap. They are the mean comedians who proclaim they are “Just joking” and who when faced with criticism like to blame the audience for either not getting the joke or being too sensitive.

Their act was tired five years ago and it is long past it’s end date now. The site has been called out by Black celebrities for years.

Tim Scott is the elected version of Herschel Walker. A tiny man with little to offer other than his votes for republican legislation and a soft head for republicans to pat when he does their bidding. Scott is mostly a nobody to the country at-large but inexplicably he tossed his hat into the 2024 presidential election by announcing he plans to run for president against Joe Biden. Tim is another puppet of the party who will do anything except support policies that appeal to Black voters.

Tim is the elected version of folk like Herschel Walker, Larry Elder, Luther Campbell, Killer Mike, Kanye, Stephen A. Smith, those Black clergy who prostrated themselves to Trump, and any Black person who works for Fox News or the New York Post.

They have little to no real power but that doesn’t stop them from pushing anti-Blackness for a little coin, views, and advertisers, because in America there is always a market for anti-Blackness.

The grifters have found their personal sweet spot that sees them disparage Black people and politicians with regularity and with the language and words that is AAVE — African American Vernacular English — that catches the attention of Black people. They weaponize our language to use it against us as they push republican and russian negative talk points about Black politicians, democrats, and Black celebrities and athletes.

And foreign players use their template to attack us and suppress our votes, as we saw in 2016 and 2020 on Facebook where the vast majority of political attack, voter suppression, and disinformation ads were directed to Black people.

It is vile and disgusting but it is paying their bills and helping their owners I guess. But what is worse is that the grifters words and videos are used by republicans as digital “Gotcha” attacks on Black people in walks of life.

We’ve all gotten Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram messages from republican friends, coworkers, or family sharing something anti-Black and/or Anti-Democratic from one of the buffoons mentioned in this article. It is infuriating, offensive, and something we all wish would not happen because we are tired of answering for such clownery.

It is especially egregious when our white friends and family ask us to comment on such tripe because we want them to instantly recognize that stuff for what it is and not depend on us to translate, explain, or be a sounding board for them to express how those folk are harming Black folk.

We know. We been knew. And we don’t want to explain it over and over again to our white friends. We’d rather you use that energy toward your white friends and family who statistically fall into ~80% of white men and 53% of white women who have consistently voted republican since 1965 and are the actual cause of every problem in the nation.

They have real power, while those mentioned in this article have limited influence and almost no power, no matter how loud they are and no matter how often right-wing media and personalities promote them as the “Real voices of the Black community.”

What they can do though is aid voter suppression and gerrymandering enough to peel away just enough Black voters which helps republicans maintain control in a mayoral, school board, or district election. And when that happens each of the provocateurs will then say that the democrats lost because they didn’t woo them, didn’t work for their vote, and aren’t interested in policies that helps Black people.

Rinse, repeat.

None of them are serious about politics beyond establishing a foothold in rightwing circles where the money flows to anyone and anybody who will consistently deliver anti-Black content.

The Black community have been identifying and naming folk like them since the 1600’s. There are terms we use in our community and any Black person reading this will know what I am talking about so there’s no need for me to list them here.

With the 2024 elections right around the corner we will begin to see and hear from this group of loud mouths with increasing frequency. They’ll call out President Joe Biden for being old, for advocating for the 1994 crime bill that our parents and grandparents also advocated for, and for supporting the Ukrainian government while supposedly not supporting the Black community.

They will push the false narrative about Vice President Kamala Harris of “Being invisible” while they pretend they don’t know what she does or how she contributes to the administration as they work for the betterment of the Black community and Black girls and women.

They will use any current crime in the Black community and blame the administration for lack of care and concern for Black folks. And they’ll dig up every bad statistic for housing, gun violence, healthcare, schools, homeownership, student loans, and any negative news involving a Black athlete or celebrity they way they did with Brittney Griner or Will Smith, or the current WorldStar video making social media rounds.

They will use any awful republican act, law, speech, or action and blame democrats for allowing republicans to be so racist and vile.

They will downplay or ignore any accomplishment by democrats by saying it is not enough, is too little or too late, or accuse democrats of pandering.

There are far too many Black people left out of an improving America. Our histories are being erased in Florida, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas, and <insert every republican-led state>, we are being targeted by white supremacists and their cousins the police. Our votes are still being suppressed and gerrymandered, and our kids school’s still receive less funding, more policing, and more underpaid teachers.

What they won’t tell you is that each of the aforementioned issues are priorities democratic party and Biden/Harris administration and actions have been taken and more will be taken if they are elected to another term.

Unlike republicans who only work on three issues — guns, abortions, tax breaks for the wealthy — the democratic party is a multifaceted party that works to improve the lives off all Americans and as a result the party has many issues and priorities.

When the entire nation depends on one party for progress, the work is never ending, daunting, and necessarily prioritized and organized. And democrats can only do what they can when they have enough votes in the house and senate, and if they have a president who will sign their legislation into law. And if they have enough judges who will not strike down the new laws, and if they have a majority on the supreme court who will allow the law to stand.

By Voting.

That’s it. It’s not sexy or exciting, but it remains the only effective legal way to effect positive change in this country.

And it takes work, not rabble-rousing online for clicks and views. But therein lies the issue. It is easy to criticise and do nothing.

So when the talking heads and clickbait writers spout the same anti-Black talking points as republicans, fox news, and russian media, then they should also be scorned and ignored, ridiculed and pushed back, and called out and shouted down because they are actively harming real life Black babies, children, women, and men.

They side with the party and foreign operatives who want us forever subservient, unemployed, unable to get healthcare or fair loans, and who believe it is fine for us to be shot down by police and gun-toting freaks and fascists.

They are not our little friends no matter how much their clickbait headlines make you laugh, or how much Lenard on the Breakfast Club says something so obviously false and offensive while chuckling before later wimping out and saying he was just joking. Or Nina Turner spending her time trolling on Twitter because she has nothing better to do than criticize people elected where she couldn’t get elected because her policy choices and opinions aren’t wanted where she lives.

Or queen troll Candace Owens spewing vile hatred while trolling any topic that gives her a reason to share her hatred for all things Black American, all things democratic party, and all things decent because she knows she can continue to be the “pick me” Black women for racists.

Our lives, our ability to live in peace, to work and be paid fairly, to receive good healthcare, to be taught our history in school, and to have access to Black author’s books, are priorities of only one political party.

The naysayers and trolls at The Shade Room, The Breakfast Club, and loudmouths like Candace Owens and Stephen A. Smith will always have a platform on contrarianism of nothingness.

It is up to voters to ignore their messages of defeat and soft-pedaling ineffective GOP policies while downplaying real democratic accomplishments.

So when you talk about 'lol you don't even have big restaurant portions', fuck you. We can't even go to the fucking restaurant except on special occasions. People can't even pay to heat their homes in winter anymore. for those that don't get it: the use of "increased productivity" as a defining measure for the worthiness of something meant to make people's lives easier is and always will be dehumanizing and ripe for abuse on multiple levels.

The very concept of "increased productivity" is dehumanizing when it's used to rank the worthiness of an act of kindness like making people have to work less and worry about things like starvation less. And I know there's an argument for trying to work around the capitalistic infrastructure with your rhetoric, but let's face it: how much has that actually helped us make our lives better? How much has it instead given excuse after excuse for corporations to do what they please in the name of "productivity"?

People can work towards a goal and create something for themselves. But the word "productivity" is not a word to be used on a human being. It's a word to use for livestock, grain and machinery.

The word should be considered an insult and an unfair and inhuman demand. Not a value to strive for.

i have definitely said that a lot but i’m not sure if there’s a specific post about it; i think i most recently mentioned it in the tags here.  but either way it’s a good point worth saying again, aka the fact that no matter who you like or ideologically align yourself with or WHATEVER, come november there’s exactly one person to vote for and that’s whoever the democratic nominee for president against trump is.  like.  that’s it.  if i met bernie sanders in the street the only thing i’d want to say to him is to fuck off into oblivion forever, but if he’s the nominee?  you can bet i’ll be hauling my ass out of bed at five am to get in line to vote for him early on november 3rd.

My additional commentary: (as a former evangelical myself) this is spot on, and something you have to continue unpacking. A lot of former evangelicals/fundamentalists keep the same framework but substitute what goes in it.

I call these folks Progressive Puritans, and believe me, I’m constantly having to kill the Progressive Puritan within myself and check that I’m not just perpetuating the toxic patterns and picking new “bad guys”, new “impure thoughts”, or a new moral code that is just as unyieldingly black and white as what I was indoctrinated with.

Progressive Puritans take the modern parable of the dogshit brownies as a fundamental truth and apply it to fucking everything, from media consumption to their political candidates, to people they will and won’t associate with.

The parable goes that a boy goes to his dad and asks to be allowed to go with his friend to see this new action movie, it just has a little swearing in it. So you know, it’s mostly good.

The dad considers this and then offers a deal to his son. He’ll be allowed to go to the movies as long as he eats some brownies the dad will make. But the brownies have just a little dogshit in them.

Wild applause. Unflappable metaphor.

Except then they spend all their energy finding fault in the media they or OTHERS consume. They break off relationships with anyone who has ever had a problematic belief or behavior, they dig up uneducated shit that people and celebrities tweeted fuckin 20 years ago, and most damaging of all, they refuse to vote for political candidates unless they’re above reproach (and always have been from the beginning of their 50 year career) on every single topic they support.

The problem is, this idealism and black and white thinking is attractive to others. It offers certainty and sense of smug superiority that is quite delicious. People go looking for things to be outraged about and when you can be outraged together you find yourself in a little community (a toxic one but beggars can’t be choosers). So they pull non-ex-fundies into their little cynical web. So while they withhold their votes, or write in Bernie Sanders on their ballots, Republicans goosestep right into fucking line behind who ever is anti-gay, anti-choice, pro-business, pro-Israel, pro-military empire, anti-bipoc, anti-feminist, and transphobic. They select and appoint inept, bigoted judges who align with their bigoted ideals, they make bigoted policy a state’s rights issue, and overturn federal protections for everyone else.

Y’all, us former fundies have GOT to start seeing in shades of grey and learn to listen to marginalized and vulnerable groups. We have to vote strategically and pragmatically. There are absolute wrongs in the world (like fucking genocide, for example. Free Palestine, ceasefire now) but we have to be better salespeople for progressive ideas. Outrage is exhausting and will never be as attractive as loving support, community building, resource sharing, breaking bread together, and especially… forgiveness. We have to give each other leeway to grow, and that means making mistakes, and understanding that people can change for the better if we give them the grace to do so.

This probably isn't a new take, but I think there's a subset of formerly-Christian (and likely evangelical) leftists who never like truly deconstructed their upbringing (watch this excellent series on this topic) and now have essentially replaced "rapture" with "revolution"

Callout post for Timaeus @timaephite /j

As an ex dear friend of Timaeus, it comes with a heavy heart that I have to write this (joking) callout today. As of recent and unfortunate news, Tim is problematic. In this post I will be detailing his problematic actions against me and many others, namely his nickelodeon co-stars and friends in the CDPL discord server.  Starting with his heinous actions as a nickelodeon star, he is reported to have said the f word (f*ck) MANY times on set (Very rude, you should distrust him just because of this.)  In addition to the f word, Timaeus allegedly said that the slime they dunk on the other stars looks like, direct quote, “Some fuckin hulk cum [wheeze].” This is derogatory towards The Hulk (Known real man/j) and VERY problematic for a number of other reasons that should be plainly obvious to anyone who reads it. Moving on to his actions against his (now ex) friends in CDPL, I am going to start with his actions against Aurelio. He, according to an eye witness, declared “Hey is hair flammable?”, and proceeded to attempt to light Aurelio’s hair on fire. This is hilarious, however incredibly problematic in and of itself. Moving on to things he has said on record, he has made incredibly wrong and problematic claims against former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, and this leads me to believe he is a Russian psyop attempting to dissolve Bernies good name. (I am on a first name basis with Bernie because my cock is huge and I am a communist.) I have photographic proof of the above claim, displayed here.

Accepting Authority as an Anarchist

I had a pretty interesting conversation with my roommate recently in which we talked, in one way or another, about authority. He seemed very confused by my praise of the times I’ve been in this team sport or another. “If I feel the obligation towards my coach and teammates, then I’m much more likely to stick to the workout program or whatever.” This seemed to really surprise him. “But, you always talk about how you dislike authority. The government, the police, hell, professors sometimes.”  And I took a pause. At times, I can struggle with the wording of what I want to say, but after a moment or two, I managed to come up with a rebuttal.  “I think the difference is simply on whether or not I view the transaction, for lack of a better term, as being beneficial to me, or at least, beneficial enough to keep going on with it.”  And while that may seem kind of selfish, I think that it was a good stepping stone in my self-analysis. It isn’t just that the thing has to be beneficial to me. Because there are plenty of things that would probably be very beneficial to me, but which I cannot or will not presently do, such as say, deleting all social media. Sure, I would probably have more peace of mind, but I can’t, in good conscience, abandon the world to its own devices. I feel the need to stay up to date with events in the off chance that I may be able to help here or there. But anyway.  I am currently working on losing a bit of weight. It isn’t that I think health and slimness are the same thing. They aren’t. But it’s getting to a point that my obesity is becoming a hindrance to the things I want to do in my every day life. I’ve been healthy and obese at the same time before. I’ve been unhealthy and skinny before. But I’m looking to try out the one combo I haven’t yet: skinny and healthy. So lose weight I shall.  So, we were talking about my desire to lose weight, and I told him: “tell me what to do. Tell me what to eat. Remind me to exercise. If I have you breathing down my neck, I won’t be willing to break the rules.” This is what sparked the previous exchange about my dislike for authority.  But I really think that the key idea here is that, as an anarchist, it is not that I hate authority. Rather, I have a passionate dislike for being roped into things I didn’t agree to. I loved being in wrestling, because I was losing weight, managing to be healthy (I wasn’t going to starve myself to make weight or anything like that, fuck that), and I felt the support of a team. When I worked for the Bernie Sanders campaign, the gentle pressure I felt from my superiors was coercive, but in the best way: It helped me meet my goals and get shit done, without being and anxiety overload.  Hell, when I’m in the bedroom, sometimes I get subby as absolute fuck, and bow to the authority of my partner(s). And it makes me melt.  But if ever there is a time in which I am approached by the police, citing some bullshit law they made up because they want to detain me for my BLM mask or any of my communist/anarchist/antifa/leftist apparel, they’re going to meet every facet of resistance that I can muster.  We have every right, and every obligation to question and challenge authority, as We are the ones who grant them authority. The police have power because, collectively, we have agreed that they should. The same goes for politicians. For the administrators of our schools and so forth.  We have an amazingly strong sense of societal imagination, to come up with all these far flung ideas like paper money and corporations which don’t really exist but also are some of the most powerful entities in our collective conscience.  We must question all things about our society moving forward, but especially authority. Authority such as the state, the military, etc. must prove to us that they deserve to have such privilege and power over us. And if they cannot, in good faith prove that to us, then we must strip them of their powers. It is the only possible course of action.

Thess vs Reality

So today’s the day that the transition period ends and this weak-ass deal comes into effect - this weak-ass deal that was passed into law literally the day before the transition period end. Which means that all those signs and adverts all over the place going, “BUSINESSES PREPARE FOR BREXIT” were a waste of marketing money because no fucker had the slightest clue what they were preparing for, and we’re likely to have a month minimum of chaos (though at least less chaos than if we hadn’t had a deal at all) while people figure out what the fuck they’re supposed to do as regards paperwork.

And we’ve got some jackass in the Guardian going, “The Left must stop mourning Brexit and start seeing it as an opportunity to affect real change! Your lamentations about slash-and-burn economics assume that we’re going to have a Conservative government forever!” And there’s no option to comment on this particular editorial, which is a pity, because if there were, I would have Things To Say to this jackass.

First of all - maybe we won’t have a Conservative government forever, but we’re going to have one for at least four years. I wonder if this jackass has any clue how much damage someone can do in four years with no checkreins. I mean, he should; he’s seen what ten years of Tory government has done even with checkreins, and everyone’s seen what happened in the US for the four years Trump was in office. Maybe we’ll get another Labour government and they’ll do right by the country in four years’ time when we are obliged to have an election. Maybe. But given the alt-right sentiment blooming in this fucking country, I have my doubts.

Especially when you consider that Johnson has been taking significant lessons from Trump in terms of keeping power without actually accepting the responsibility that goes with it. He packed his cabinet with yes-men, played fast and loose with the constitution on multiple occasions, and talks about “breaking international law in a limited and specific way” like it’s nothing. He prorogued Parliament illegally awhile back and still says all eleven Supreme Court justices who unanimously told him that what he was doing was wrong and to cut that shit out were mistaken. Then there’s his approach to elections and voting - some of the shit that went down when he got his 80-seat majority last year violated election rules in a significant way, and no one said a fucking word. In the face of that bullshit, and considering the fact that the Conservatives are playing with Trump’s playbook but in a sneakier, less blunt-force way ... the odds are against Labour, who generally speaking play fair.

Then we have to consider the fact that Labour is constantly eating itself. The issue is that ... honestly, Tories aren’t picky, it sometimes seems. The politics of being against things seems to win over more votes, particularly when phrased right, and the Conservatives seem to be against more than they’re for. Hell, they don’t talk about what they’re for (probably because then they’d have to admit that all they’re really for is themselves and their rich friends). Meanwhile, Labour still has issues in a similar vein to the Democrats over in the US; just instead of Bernie Sanders, we have Jeremy Corbyn. Thing is, it’s not enough that Corbyn’s proposed policies are reactionary, overzealous and untenable on the short to moderate timeline he proposes in the same way that Sanders’ are - he got politically assassinated and honestly, he twisted the knife himself a few times there. Antisemitism is not a pretty thing. (Then again, neither is the bigotry that the Tories wear like badges of honour while they illegally slandered Corbyn with posters branding him an antisemite on election day when the independent investigation hadn’t even properly condemned him yet, but there you go.)

Now we have Kier Starmer, and he’s ... okay, look, he’s been in a bad situation since he took over as Leader of the Opposition. His party’d just lost an election and left him having to deal with a 80-seat Tory majority in Parliament, the transition period was coming to an end and he had no leverage, and then COVID happened. This leaves him in the unenviable position of having little to do other than flag up Johnson’s lies and mistakes at every turn without actually providing any alternative courses of action. The thing is, every course of action Starmer might provide is going to get shat on by someone, because neither Brexit nor COVID allow for a perfect solution. So he’s trying to avoid getting shat on, and doing moderately well ... except where he’s being shat on for not doing anything but shitting on Johnson. So the man can’t win.

...Particularly not when he voted for the Brexit deal. He was between a rock and a hard place there, it has to be said, and he tried really hard to flag up in no uncertain terms that he thought the deal was shit but that we were out of time and that a vote against that deal was effectively a vote for no deal, which he couldn’t in good conscience do because it wasn’t in the best interests of the people. The thing is, a couple of MPs (hell, my MP is one of them) actually went against the whip, abstained from the vote entirely, and resigned over this. They said that to vote for the deal was to be complicit in it; that it would have won no matter what and Labour could have just abstained and kept his hands clean. Starmer chose not to take that risk and he’s paying for it by being mauled by just about everyone.

Honestly, I don’t see how Labour’s going to win an election in four years’ time. So yes, between the Tory’s bending the laws to suit their whims and Labour eating itself from the inside out, I kind of do think at this point that we’re going to end up with a Tory government forever. Or at least long enough to do permanent damage. And let’s face it - even Labour governments (at least Labour governments who can win votes away from the Conservative party) have enough self-interest to keep some of the more egregious laws that Tories might pass between now and the next election. After all, we’ve already been boiled like frogs; why not keep the status quo and line their pockets? Human greed transcends party lines.

I already hear fireworks going off. While Christmas was seen as the worst culprit for possible holiday superspreader events, I think this particular New Year is going to be the really big one. People might skip the average New Year’s party, but all the people who are going to celebrate when Big Ben ‘bong’s at 11pm signalling the end of the transition period and our final break from the EU ... well, a large majority of them are the anti-maskers, the ones who won’t follow guidance to socially distance etc. Our hospitals are already having to send people to intensive care units hundreds of miles away because our beds are full (I mean that literally; the hospital I work at is one of them). The Brexit parties this year are going to break us as much as Brexit itself is.

So fuck you, Mr Economics Editor: I’ll mourn if I damn well please. This government doesn’t do well without supervision and solid checkreins, and now it has none. You’re in a cushy position and have little to lose; most of us aren’t so fucking lucky.

Perhaps you’ve noticed that it’s been quiet around here despite all the political excitement. If you’ve guessed “He’s in facebook jail again”, you’d be right. Being put in a childish “time out” because I pissed off someone who came to MY page uninvited is the name of today’s game, and I’m done with it. I already lost the original Quaker Joe page with well over 10,000 followers without an opportunity to say good-bye, so I’m doing so here and now to you all and to share some final thoughts about what I’ve learned about America, its people, and the political process in a collection of simple, straightforward observations. Here it goes.

First, it has become abundantly clear that America simply does NOT want to make this “a more perfect union” as prescribed in the Constitution that everyone claims to hold so dear. My whole life I’ve watched the GOP sink the economy and destroy civil rights and worker & environmental protections while making massive money grabs. While doing so, they’ve enacted shit laws to benefit the rich while screwing “the help”, meaning YOU in general.

This brings me to “Democrats are feckless” and suck-ass at delivering a clear message or any sort of show of strength. While they’re busy trying to clean up the mess left by the GOP every turn of the tide, the GOP points at them and they shout “Look at the mess the Dems are responsible for!” and Dems say nothing. Civility, I guess. It only goes so far before you get the reputation for being wimps. You know, like today.

Democrats are yesterday’s Republicans. They’re scared, angry and afraid of taking chances. Bold leaders like Bernie Sanders want to bring us ALL to a new, all-time high. Democrats are now his #1 enemy, trying to tear an honest man down. “He hasn’t accomplished anything” the same way Jesus didn’t in the N.T. No, I’m not comparing the two, but it’s funny how a “Christian Nation” isn’t rallying behind a Jew who is a former carpenter and is trying to lead a movement to tend to the poor and heal the sick. Fuck, Bernie could walk on water and turn water into wine all while bringing a dead man back to life and the Dems AND GOPers would still shit on him.

Liz Warren. She’s a brand. Granted, her brand is taking a royal shit on the rich and powerful by calling them out on their bullshit, and she used to be a hero to me, but we’ve got to face it- she ignored the call in 2016 when Bernie urged her to run for POTUS. She was either afraid of Clinton or she was playing the “But I’m A Woman” card and secretly wanted to back HRC. Either way, Warren was out for Warren, not a Progressive agenda and clearly wasn’t behind the cause. When Sanders picked up the torch for the Progressive Cause, she fucked him over and backed HRC, all while calling herself a Progressive. Again, she saw HRC as the inevitable victor and ponied up with her, probably hoping for a cabinet position. She’s doing it now, only more cautiously. This round, however, she thought it smart to shit all over Sanders EARLY in the game and when she did it cost her and her campaign tanked. She’s dropped out. So why hasn’t she openly endorsed Sanders, a fellow Progressive? She won’t. She’s waiting to throw in with Biden after the Primaries and we ALL know it. She’s no champion of the Progressive cause. She’s a brand and she’s looking out for her own ass and nothing more. She’s fallen from grace, if she ever truly had some. She WAS GOP before and clearly nothing’s changed much.

Biden. Fuck me, are we seriously considering fronting this next generation “W”? Why not just hand the election to trump now and get it over with. 2016 all over again. He’s already lining up his potential cabinet with Wall St. tycoons, and has OPENLY admitted that he’s going to slash Social Security (even though the Fed. OWES it a fuck-tonne of payback from all the times it has dipped into YOUR paid-in benefits) and Medicaid/Medicare, but do Americans find this a threat? With typical GOP mentality on BOTH sides of the aisle, it’s only a threat when a Dem. wants to do it, but if the GOP tries, well then it’s all good and fine. Biden is a fucking REPUBLICAN. Just because he CLAIMS to be a Dem, it doesn’t make him so. He’s racist, and twats like Kamala backing him already after the whole “I was that little girl” jab in the debates only shows that she’s not for “We the People” but her own ass. Shocker.

I could go through the list of formerly anti-Biden hypocrites who’ve jumped on board to support Biden and shit on Sanders. All the moneylenders are organizing and ganging up on the ONE true delegate trying to save YOU and not the RICH. Again, this is a CLEAR example of how America doesn’t WANT to be saved.

This has taught me that Americans are not only deluded and hypocritical, as a people in general, but that they seem to LOVE being put into position of strife and misery. It’s where they’re the happiest; embracing the stupidity and ignorance instead of trying to find a way to make us ALL safer, healthier, and happier. Americans HATE being happy with the “others” are happy too. Instead of reaching down to help a fellow American up, it’s the “American Way” to punch down and blame the poor and powerless for their own failings while the rich at the top keep pissing and shitting down on them all while making money grabs.

Next, there’s all this infantile bullshit about “Bernie Bros”. Seriously, shut the fuck up. Hypocrisy in action, yet again is what this is. I’ve found in my personal experience that if I call out another Dem on their bullshit, I’m labeled a “BB”. No matter how you try to point out how Pelosi’s asleep at the wheel or Schumer’s a babbling idiot or how Biden’s a declining fuckwit who can’t string words together and that trump will eat him alive on the debates if he’s the nominee, because I back Sanders, I AM THE ONE getting labeled. The media and the fuckwits out there who are tender little snowflakes who can’t handle criticism or having dirt on their picks dug up and called out cry and cry and cry until someone puts an admin in FB jail for days or even weeks or months.

So to them I say- “Fuck ALL y’all!” I’m done here. Cry me a river because I’m sailing off of Facebook and leaving you all with this cesspool of social mania run by a cunt who backs trump. It’s bad enough knowing that the game is rigged when electing who’ll be our nominee in the Dem. party, but it’s fucking stupid trying to fight the battle here on social media when there are thousands of people following who don’t have a problem with my postings, the description WARNS that I cuss here, yet it only takes one or two fucktards to shut down your page. Fuck this bullshit. I’ve got better shit to do, and my posts on other platforms like Tumblr and even Twitter never get me blocked or locked out. Childish as this whole notion of social media is, at least virtually every other platform is infinitely less riddled with whingers, bitchers and cry-babies who can’t take the heat and instead of clicking to go elsewhere they feel the need to fuck up a page. Enough is enough.

there’s, like, so much to delve into there, but to avoid relitigating the 2016 election and primaries, let’s just say that honestly he’s like if the guyinyourmfa twitter ran for president: with no functional qualifications aside from being a white guy, he’s decided he’s the savior of the american people.

mostly i think his flimsy excuses for policies are shit.  his foreign policy is about as well-constructed as a sixth grade essay and he has Big Ideas about the economy…none of which are structured to take into account the ripple effects of their implementation.  one of his big hallmark yelling points– healthcare reform– is a shoddily constructed excuse for a policy that fundamentally misunderstands the healthcare industry.  i work in the healthcare industry– my literal job for the better part of a decade has been, effectively, the functional implementation of healthcare reform to facilitate the move towards a value-based care system– and like…sanders’ plans are shit.  they’re castles in the sky kinda situations, with lots of lofty ideas and no conception of how to implement them, or how they would work.  it’s notable that he started backpedaling from his medicare for all spiel post-2016 and advocating for a incrementalist change (required medicaid expansion in all states and lowering the medicare age to 55 which, coincidentally, was hillary clinton’s proposal during the election) right up until he announced his 2020 bid, and now he’s back screeching about how he’s going to save the world with medicare for all*.  so like.  personality and his behavior aside, i think he’s just a shitty candidate.

also, like, and this is probably more about his supporters than him but still: one of his leftist-purity-test things he kept throwing at clinton during the 2016 primaries was about how he supported gay marriage before her, and how DOMA proved he was The Better Person about such things.  except he didn’t come out in support of gay marriage until 2009.  his opposition to DOMA in 1996 was, per his own campaign, about states’ rights and constitutional authority, not about “values”– you know, the supposed point of the law.  sanders has always been a shrewd politician, but he’s positioned himself as a heavy-left moral purist who votes his conscience and has intentionally situated himself such that he has a horde of supporters who believe that he’s, say, been trying to legalize gay marriage since the 1980s and that the windsor and obergefell decisions were because of his work, not the decades of tireless and thankless work of a huge collection of queer activists.

there’s that whole thing where he runs as a democrat in the senate primary in vermont to drive out any competition and then refuses the nomination and flips to run as an independent so he doesn’t have to work with the democratic party is just like…the most conniving bit of politics i’ve ever seen from anyone

his “recruiting” tool that “allows everyday supporters to contribute to the campaign’s voter database by logging names and background information of anyone from a family member to a stranger met at a bus stop. It matches each name to a voter record before noting their level of support, priority issue and even union membership.”  that’s horrifying.  people should unequivocally not have the option to shove their friends or family members into the voter database of a candidate without their knowledge.

there’s more, but that’s what i have links to at this exact moment.  i just.  want bernie sanders to go fucking play parcheesi or whatever the hell it is old white men do when they’re retired.  he has conceptual ideas that i don’t always necessarily disagree with, but absolutely no idea how to institute them and he would utterly fail as a president.

*i support universal coverage but this country is too large to have a functional true single payer system; a hybrid system with a public option safety net and the option to buy price-regulated private insurance is the closest we’re ever likely to get to a single payer system.  but that’s neither here nor there at this point.
