Nicky Parlouzer on the brain again. That means it's time to talk about Alter-Egos!

Let's go through some basics:

Summary: It's five years after a rough approximation of the events of the original Shogakukan manga. Nicky has moved back to Station Square as his parents (Jules and Bernie) have finally returned from an important under cover mission. Nicky soon meets Dexter Robotnik and the two become fast friends. However, not everything is as it seems. The mysterious hero, Sonic the Hedgehog, has apparently come to Station Square as well. And there's a new hero as well: Shadow the Hedgehog. Something strange is going on. What are Sonic and Shadow’s true origins? And what is Jules hiding . . . ?

Status: I currently have 18 chapters fully written and I'm nearing the climax. I want to wait until the whole thing is done before I post it because I want to be able to go through the whole thing and fix any story weirdness. This is one of my oldest Sonic AUs, so there's probably a lot of wonky writing. Currently, I'm stuck on how to proceed with a major plot point, but I'm hoping to figure it out soon and get a move on with finishing this thing!!

I have a serious problem, I like many elements and chronologies that try to organize the entire Sonic universe but I'm really undecided; on one hand I like that Sonic is a prince and son of Queen Aleena but now I also like the idea that the Parlouzer are his parents and have a humble origin story, that he was once that cowardly child who became the great hero of Mobius. And if you are looking at the second family tree (Because I am so indecisive that I made two timelines where Sonic is a prince and the other is not… And if his civil name would be Nicolas for Nicky) I put ''Terios Robotnik'' which is Shadow's civil identity, why not? Terios is his prototypical name and Robotnik is for Gerald and Maria… Unfortunately he shares his last name with Eggman, and who is Arian? Well, it's Silver's civilian name, I literally looked for names that mean ''Silver'' and Arian is of Welsh origin. Before you kill me for putting Sonamy let me try to explain before the mob gets closer, Sonamy was my first ship and the first thing I saw when I entered the fandom when I was a little girl, although I don't ship them as strongly anymore, has a special place in my heart; so I put Amy as his first wife with whom they had a daughter (A Sonamy fanchild that I made back in the day) but when it was discovered that Sonic no longer aged like before due to the constant absorption of Chaos, let's say he wanted to enjoy the last days with her before expelling his last breath… With the passing of the years after his death she would marry Shadow and there they would have Silver. (Now they can stone me)

This might be the Hispanic in me showing, but one of my headcanons about Sonic’s bio family is essentially, “all of your possible parents are now a huge extended family, and no one knows which one of them you spawned from”

Hear me out.

This works best if Jules, Aleena, and Paulie are siblings. Chuck’s their eldest brother, while Brenda and Bernadette married in—but they’re all very close. Brenda and Aleena had their kids at about the same time (I’m talking days, if not hours, apart), and while Brenda only had one, Aleena shocked the family with three.

(Alternatively, Aleena only had two, and one of them was born to Bernadette—again, around the same time. That’s largely irrelevant, though.)

So naturally, you’ve got a very confused mom getting wheeled to the nursery to see her babies, like:

“I thought you said there were only three.”

A hapless nurse, or possibly Jules: “…Yes?”

Aleena, shaking: “Then why are there four of them???”

Whoever their parents are, Tania grows up very, very close with Sonic, Manic, and Sonia. They’re effectively siblings despite being born cousins. Naturally, everyone in the family leads very busy lives—and whether you imagine them in a royal household, in the midst of a rebellion, or as commoners in peacetime, that doesn’t matter much either. They’re family, they have each other—which means that if one of them has to to work a particular night, someone else is babysitting their kids that night. And they all do it to each other, so it evens out.

(Except for Chuck. Chuck has no kids of his own. He insists he get to help because he loves his nieces, nephews, and siblings, but Chuck will get paid for babysitting.)

They’re not alone, either. Longclaw is functionally the matriarch/cryptid of the family—no one knows for sure how old she is or how she’s related to them, but they do know she’s lived through two wars, two virus outbreaks, and despite her kind demeanor, has epic tales of the time she fought Black Doom with a spear. Maddie was once friends with somebody’s cousin, and while that cousin is long gone, she and Tom are now too close to the family to leave, and always organize the family potlucks because no one else wants to. And Sonic and Sonia’s adoptive parents from Underground—haven’t thought about them long enough to have names for them yet—are here too. They’re aunts and uncles who are slightly more well off than the rest of the family, so if there’s ever financial trouble, and they catch wind of it, they’ll always race to the struggling one’s doorstep with a warm meal and a modest gift of money, hidden in a couch cushion.

The point is, they’re close. They rely on each other a lot. Somebody would always be available to take the kids. The kids would need not look very far to find loving arms to hold them, or teach them about the world, or patch up a scraped knee or two. Or eight.

And the moment Sonic brings home Tails?

Well, they’re already shuffling four kids between them. What’s a fifth, in the midst of all this chaos?

They died in the same accident that caused Little John to be paralyzed.)

Regarding Sonic's family from the Manga, the Comics, and the Cartoon 'Sonic Underground'.

*If they were siblings then they would all stay with their parents until 5 years old. Then their memories of the parents and each other would be locked away from them. And after the siblings reunite, memories come back little by little.

OR

If they were cousins, then we'd have a way for their parents to connect somehow. Like per-say, if Jules and Paulie were Aleena's brothers. Then one cousin can go with one sibling. In a way that would work out. (Like Sonic with Paulie, Sonia with Aleena, and Manic with Jules.)

Sonic’s Mothers as the Queens from Six: The Musical

Catherine of Aragon: Queen Aleena.  Mother from Sonic Underground.  The rightful Queen of Mobius who fights for her title.  Can be quite fierce.  Tries not to give up, no matter what life throws at her.  

Anne Boleyn: Brenda Parlouzer.  Mother from the Shogakukan manga.  A romantic.  Might be a bit more ditzy than the other mothers.  

Jane Seymour: Longclaw.  Guardian from the movie.  Most famous for (apparently) dying.  Generally calm.  Associated with stones because of the owl motifs in the Master Emerald’s temple (and also via the Chaos Emerald Theory).  

Anne of Cleves: Estelle.  Adoptive mother from Sonic Underground.  Rejected by the fanbase, possibly for her looks.  

Katherine Howard: Bernadette Hedgehog.  Mother from pre-reboot Archie Comics.  Has been used and abused by those in power (namely, roboticised by Robotnik).  

Catherine Parr: Maddie Wachowski.  Adoptive mother Pretzel Lady from the movie.  A survivor.  Survived a fall from the top of the Transamerica Building, so can probably survive anything.
