I’ve had this edit saved for over a year now. I am not the original creator and I believe they got their account deleted as a disclaimer.
I love everything about this edit. It is so honorable to Bonnie and the Bennett’s. It depicts a different storyline than what we were given with them. I wish they were given a bigger forefront than some other character’s families. This is the superior witch bloodline to me, they are the creators and the blueprints! This is a matriarchal line of black and brown women how amazing is that?!
Julie could not relate to Bonnie which applies to her “struggles” (racism)writing her and her bloodline. If a fan can make an edit like this then there is no excuse why a writer couldn’t uplift Bonnie and her relatives. The Bennett’s are still the superior bloodline to me.

i hate when hope's stans say that Bonnie Is weak when Bonnie whole bloodline Is even the reason why almost everything on tvdu exist, what do you think?
The Bennetts are the backbone of this franchise but will never get real credit for it.
Hope benefits like most of the white witches from desirability and privilege. TO added into this as well by removing Ayana's importance towards the Mikaelson history. Esther did all of this work by herself and has the grand sister who comes with all this power. When that is not what we were shown in TVD. Legacies won't properly credit Bonnie for her work or skillset but can make negative jokes about her. While fueling of Bennett blood for spells because not even Hope Mikaelson can do specific requirements of a Bennett witch. They even brought in some unnamed Bennett witch to utilize once.
The Bennetts are an example of something black women and people face every day. You can have all the credentials and work--the Bennett's are involved in the world building, and magic basics but aren't even development or screentime and people will still flock to someone white who did not have to do much in order to have respect from everyone else.
Bonnie and her relatives are victims of racist writing but given their history are far from weak. Bonnie alone was 17 years old, as a self-taught witch mastering the power to bring a 1000-year-old hybrid to his knees successfully. The same Bonnie a season later saved everyone's asses even Klaus which is how he lived another day to get someone pregnant ANYWAY...Bonnie wasn't weak and never has been just not written with a real desire for her or her family. The real tea is that many fans don't see Bonnie's power as something to respect.
I'll leave you with this whenever someone makes comparisons about magic or witch abilities it is always Bonnie and or her bloodline being compared. You don't see Freya vs Davina covered as much or Hope vs Davina. Those fans see their power especially NOLA witches as respectable.
Hope has a werewolf queen mother in Hayley and she isn't even brought up in these never ending power debates lmfao.

Part 25
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality @icefrye19
Yet the voice that whispered in my ear and covered my mouth with their freehand made me relax. “Rae, Raelyn. Calm down, it’s okay. You’re okay.”
“Nik…” I muffled my voice into his palm moving my hands up so I could pull his hand away from my mouth.
He gently but quickly spun me around still holding me closer to his embrace. But I gripped his forearms and I slumped my shoulders in relief, scanning my eyes over his face not believing he was here. “Rae…Oh thank goodness Josie was right about this.”
“How are you here right now. Did you jump into Malivore or something?” I sniffed through tears trying to figure out how he was really here.
He squeezed my forearms, looping his hand in my left hand scanning the room for a way out. “I’ll explain that later but let’s just say Valerie, Bonnie and your brother are very strong witches when they work together. Bonnie and Valerie are letting Jacob siphon from them so we just have to find him in this world and get back to our version of this one pony town.”
“What do you mean find him in this world?” I questioned him tugging his hand before he could move any further.
Klaus shifted his gaze downward to mine. “He said he would be in a place we knew quite well, you and I. I can only assume he means the mansion. So we need to go before the spell breaks.”
“Klaus, wait. We can’t leave here without the Ascendant. Kai is awake in this world and he is looking for Bennett's blood. There’s always a full moon here so if he finds the blood then he can - urgh ohhh!” Grabbing my head I lowered myself down onto my knees feeling a high amount of pain shoot through my head.
Klaus reached for my hand not seeing anything or anyone who could be hurting me. “Raelyn?”
“Klaus!” I winced holding my head feeling something being pressed into my back near my heart.
The figure finally revealed themselves to the pair to be Kai who was stabbing me in the back with one of Alaric’s stakes hidden in the house. “Hey there, Nikky. Look at that Rae Rae your dear husband thinks he can save you. Well he would be wrong-“
Kai was cut off however when somebody was launched into his neck and he collapsed onto the wooden floor behind me. Uncovering my ears I gasped feeling relief to see that what had killed my cousin was a red graduation cap that he had found. “Thank goddess there good for something else. We…we have to find it so he can’t get out.”
“Easy love. We have to go before he wakes up again.” Klaus opened his arms that I embraced very quickly, wrapping my arms around him.
Sniffing into his chest I croaked through some tears squeezing his hand in mine. “Yeah, yeah. Let’s find my brother.” We vamped out of the house where I thought back to a time when we weren’t even considering Kai Parker being a problem and all we had to worry about was our babies.
Mystic High graduation was today and we had gotten an announcement about it from Caroline meaning that we were expected to come or we would never hear the end of it. Caroline had been blowing up his phone since Damon needed his blood cure for a werewolf bite. “I wonder if I should remind the Salvatore brothers what they would do if they had successfully killed me. They wouldn’t have their cure and be dead.”
“Let’s not think about the ‘ what if you weren’t here situation ‘ even though the constant ringing of your phone is driving my vampire hearing nuts.” I looped my arm through Klaus’s sending him a half smile at the sound of his phone going off again for the 20th time.
Klaus paused in his step squeezing my arm looped in his hearing Caroline groaning in the distance. “Good thing their colors are red because we might have to spill some blood today, Rae.” His gaze noticed an abandoned graduation cap on the ground that he picked up.
“Remember us Caroline.” A witch that I didn’t recognize had her hand raised while standing beside some other witches who were hurting her, Elena and Stefan.
Klaus removed his arm from mine, launching the graduation cap at the head witch and removing her head, killing her. “There are plenty more of these to go around…Who’s next. I can do this all day.” He smiled, tossing another cap from one hand to the other.
Revealing my fangs I opened my freehand creating a fireball showing the witches I meant business too. “Trust me you don’t want to fight a pregnant heretic!”
“Raelyn…Klaus…” Caroline gasped in relief looking over her shoulder at us with a smile.
Waving to the vampire blonde I smiled resting one hand on my growing stomach wearing a new red dress Klaus had bought me that I could wear since most of my other clothes didn’t fit. “Hi Care Bear. I knew better than to miss your graduation.”
“You better be here for this. I haven’t seen you since we got the cure for vampirism. I can’t believe you’re close to having your baby - uh babies according to Bonnie.” She flung her arms around me in a hug and I embraced her back with the same energy.
Breaking the hug we shared I moved back over to Klaus who put the graduation cap on top of my head sending me a cheeky smile. “You look rather beautiful in that cap, Rae.”
“You only say that because red is your favorite color, Nik.” I smirked getting an idea in my head he wouldn’t entirely enjoy.
He stepped closer to me tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. “What are you thinking with that little smirk of yours, Raelyn?”
Removing the cap from my head I quickly put it over his face catching him off guard whispering in his ear before I vamped off somewhere else. “I’m thinking this….come catch me Klaus.”
“Raelyn!" He growled, removing the graduate cap, tossing it on the floor, seeing that I was nowhere to be seen.
Caroline raised her hand seeing his eyes turn gold. "Klaus."
"She knows I love the hunt." He shook his head vamping off to find me nor caring about the rest of the graduation ceremony.
We quickly entered the mansion searching around for my brother, not finding him in the main doorway. Vamping upstairs isn’t his bedroom in the house that Klaus had given him. I kicked the door open still not finding any sign of him being here like I thought. “Jacob!”
“Rae!” He called out my name from the closet where I couldn’t see him until he revealed himself having used the invisible spell.
Rushing towards my brother we both vamped into the others arms not caring when we toppled to the carpet floor and never broke the embrace. Sniffing through tears I broke the hug remembering that we weren’t out of the woods yet. “J, I have to tell Nik and then we need to get out of here."
"Okay just hurry. I don't want to have to face Kai again if we don't have to." He responded by letting me go out into the hallway.
Peaking my head out the door I called for my husband. "Nik!" He vamped into the bedroom within a second eyeing my brother.
"Alright so all you have to do is cut your palms and hold my hands. Then I can pull you both out according to Bonnie and Valerie who I am channeling." My twin explained flipping over his hands revealing his opened palms.
Klaus raised his right hand to his mouth using his fangs to cut his palm leaving his other hand to simply intertwine with mine. "Shall we, love?"
"Let’s get the hell home." Placing my hand in his, I also bite into my palm taking my brother's hand.
Jacob closed his eyes chanting the spell they must have told him to say. "Phasmatos tribum, invocia cavea, misero mundi…Phasmatos tribum, invocia cavea, misero mundi!" Shutting my eyes I released a breath feeling Jacob's magic running through my veins and our bodies collapse onto the ground until a few seconds later I shot upright frantically looking around to see that we were laying in a circle of candles with the Ascendant hovering above us in the air briefly coming down to clank on the wooden floor.
“Mom!” Whipping my head around I recognized the voice of Hope and saw her standing outside the circle of burning candles.
Hugging my knees to my chest I scrambled to my feet vamping out of the circle staring at the auburn haired girl before me. “Hope….oh my gosh.” I heard my voice crack with thousands of memories flooding back into my mind before I vamped sped into her bear hugging her.
“I can’t believe you jumped into Malivoire to remember me.” She sniffs through tears mumbling into my shoulder hugging me back.
Squeezing her tightly I heard Klaus and Jacob wake up shortly after regaining their consciousness. “I’m sorry, honey. I just…I knew that something wasn’t right. I’m just happy that we’re both back.”
“Guys we have a problem!” Missy vamped into the room all in a panic.
Klaus came up behind me with Alina sending her the same confused look. “What’s the matter, Melissa?”
“I went to tell Lizzie and Josie that you were back mom but when I went to their room they weren’t there. Uncle Alaric isn’t anywhere to be found either.” She responded by brushing hair out of her eyes.
Henrik ran over and hugged my leg, whimpering slightly. “Mommy, what does that mean?”
“They wouldn’t just disappear without taking anything or telling anyone where they were going so it can’t be for a good reason.” Gulping thickly I heard someone coming down the hallway from Emma’s therapy office revealing that it was Alysssa Chang who was smirking proudly about something.
Klaus tilted his head to the side picking up on her composure. “What’s got you all high and mighty Ms. Chang?”
“Oh hi Mikaelson’s. I didn’t think you would actually get Raelyn back. Good for you.” She halted in her tracks briefly but moved as fast as possible to the doorway in an attempt to leave.
Hope spun around on her heels raising her hand and launching the witch up against the wall baring her teeth. “Mitten prohibere. I think we need to have a chat. What the hell did you do?”
“I don’t have to tell you anything.” Alysssa scoffed.
Klaus strides forward past Hope who still had her hand raised watching her father grab the teenage witch by her throat choking her. “You do realize that I can tear you limb from limb if you don’t tell us what we want to know correctly.”
“Dad..” Henrik made a whimper again.
Stepping up to my husband I snagged his wrist stopping him before he would try and do anything drastic in front of our youngest. “Don’t do anything to her. Hope, let her go. I can handle her, just take Henrik up to bed.”
“Okay.” She drops her hand picking up her brother and leaving the rest of us there.
Turning my attention back to Alyssa she was standing in front of the wall until I used my strength pressing her into the wall hearing some of her bones breaking. “You may think that you’re powerful but you’re not when it’s against a heretic ... .Veritas tempos!”
“Urgh!!... .I sent them to a prison world. I heard that Dr. S was going to send the Ascendent away after the twins sent the Sand Clock to a new prison world. I knew they would have to bring it back to save you but now there’s no longer a full moon or myteiorshower to bring them back.” She rambled off through grunts of pain since I was still holding her harshly against the world.
Snapping my fingers I knocked her out onto the wooden floor at our feet, turning to Bonnie and Valerie who were still here. “Ad somnum, little twit. Thank you both for bringing me back. But we can handle this from here. If you want you can go back to your lives.”
“I’ll just be a phone call away, Rae.” Valerie hugged me and I hugged her back before she vanished from our view.
Bonnie dropped her hands to her sides. “Just be careful around Kai. You and I know what he is capable of doing to the people we have left that we love.” We shared a hug before she grabbed her bag and walked out the front door leaving the Ascendent knowing we would need its magic.
Jacob tilted his head between me and my husband. “So what exactly is our plan, Rae Rae?”
“There’s only one thing we can do, J. Alyssa sent them to his prison world so..” I heavily slumped my shoulders feeling my body stiffen at the thought of having to see him again after just getting back home with my family.
Klaus took notice of my stance gently touching my forearm, fixing his baby blues down to me. “Raelyn…”
“I’ll be okay, Nik…I’ll be okay.” I wiped away some stray tears rounding my shoulders until I felt as confident and brave as I could manage. Missy, Alina, Jacob and Klaus all were staring at me waiting for our next move. “An old enemy from Klaus’s past once told me you always stay one step ahead of your enemies. So we screw Kai Parker before he screws us and bring the Saltzman’s back.”
Comments really appreciated ❤️

Alina Driscoll: Bad Reputation by Joan Jett- for the simple fact that she really doesn’t care what people think of her, what people have planned out for her, she will do what she wants.
Dulcie Ashton: Thank You by MKTO - there’s something about the lyrics that would probably resonate in some way with Dulcie, the way she’d blame adults for the things that they’re all now facing. But also, there’s an anthem like quality to it in some ways that show that she doesn’t care, they’ll rise up from that and come back stronger.
Luce Turner: Run Away With Me (yes, the Jeremy Jordan version might have influenced this slightly) -  because the lyrics speak to the adventurous side to her, and as time goes on she doesn’t run on her own as much as before.
Lilia Bennett-Hope: It’s a Kind of Magic by Queen - I feel like it’s the song that followed her throughout her life; her dad used to hum it all the time so it’d have to be her theme for more than one reason.
Viola Cole: Firestarter by The Prodigy - it’s very different to the kind of person she is, and the kind of music she’d probably listen to, but it gives a sense of her story in a way I guess… Also, I bet it’s the kind of song Kit played to her a lot when they were younger and thus that little hint of backstory would have to be part of the reason that’s her song.

Baby daughter witch reader x Katherine Pierce x Elijah Mikaelson
Warnings: None
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Dada!" You exclaim and run up to where Elijah entered the apartment. He closes the door behind him before lifting you up into his arms. "Hey, Sweetheart." Elijah tells you, placing a kiss on your forehead.
"Hello, Katerina" Elijah smiles over to Katherine. She followed your little toddle run and stood back as your father picked you up.
"Hey, Elijah" She smirks as he walks over to her with you on his hip. He places a kiss to her lips and she leans in, it's been longer than usual since his last visit.
He's been busy with his family and everything happening in town with the Salvatores and her doppelganger. And he didn't want to draw any unwanted attention by anyone by visiting you guys.
The apartment Katherine compelled is massive, to the point where it shouldn't be called just an apartment. But it's in the downtown area of town. It may be in the middle of town, but it's more hidden away than one may think.
But he's finally got the chance to come over and Katherine couldn't be happier. She's missed her husband, and she could also tell you missed him as well. Katherine gave birth to you almost two years ago now, her and Elijah still aren't sure how it happened, but they wouldn't change it for the world.
You're a first born Mikaelson witch, so there are obvious complications with your magical abilities going haywire when you don't mean to do anything. Though, when you were almost a year old, Elijah found a witch who charmed a bracelet to help control your magic and keep it at bay while you grow up and learn to control them.
So that's the reason why a dangling silver bracelet is looped three times around your wrist to stay in place. You don't mind it, the only problem is sometimes your Mama will have to pull your arm away from your mouth when you start to suck on it. Instead, replacing it with a pacifier.
"No one followed you, right?" Katherine asks, just wanting to be sure. "I made sure no one following or any spell was cast" He reassures his wife as he bounces you in his arms.
You cuddles into your Dada's chest, paying no mind to what they're talking about. You missed your Dada a lot, you haven't seen him it so long. At least that's what it feels to you.
Your Mama doesn't take you out a lot. And when she does it's already dark out and your in the forest or in a different town. Either way you have fun with her.
"Alright, that's good. I just wanted to make sure. I don't want anything to happen to her" Katherine places a hand on your small back. "Of course. And speaking so, how has our little girl been?" He asks, leading Katherine to the couch, and sits down.
She follows and sits beside you guys, leaning into Elijah's side. "She's been a perfect little girl. The only thing we've had to worry about is bathroom clean up after her baths. She likes to splash the water and bubbles everywhere. Don't you, Sweetie?" She runs her fingers up and down your side.
You let out a round of giggles caused by your Mama and nod your head the best you could while nuzzling your head into your Dada's chest.
"She's also found a liking for colouring. Our little angel has a colouring book full of them" Katherine says. "Well, that's amazing, she's our mini artist now, huh?" Elijah leans down and places a kiss on the crown of your head, making you snuggle more into his warmth.
"Has she drawn on the walls yet? I've heard kids her age tend to do stuff like that" Elijah asks, remembering hearing a conversation between the Forbes and Bennett girls as they were talking about old memories.
"Thankfully, not yet. But I doubt it's going to happen. Y/n's a very good listener" Katherine hums and rests a hand on Elijah's thigh in contempt.
"I'm sorry for not being here enough. I know it must be hard raising a child, a powerful witch baby, at that, by yourself" Elijah tells her with anxiousness laced in his voice.
"Lijah, you don't need to apologize. I know the circumstances, your siblings and the supernatural world can't know about her. Not yet. What we're doing is for the safety of our child. And this child right here knows you love her very much, and I know you love me as well. Yes, raising a child is harder than it seems, as many things are, but I learn along the way. Plus it's not like you're dumping everything on me, I know you're doing all you can for our little family in this world of ours. And I love you for it. It's why I married you" She tells him, everything coming from her heart. A heart many have said is ice cold. But it's not. Not for You or Elijah. You both are her world.
Elijah's mouth agapes, not knowing how to respond to her heart touching response besides for, "I love you too" He tells her, the adoration filling his eyes.
As you doze off in your Dada's lap, your parents lean in for another kiss. This world may not be safe for you to live in, but they will protect you at all costs.
The Vampire Diaries Universe Fic Recs
Once again putting my unhealthy amount of fanfic knowledge to good use. Here's my list (non-exhaustive) of the best vampire diaries & originals fanfics. Includes Klaroline, Bamon, Kolvina, and more.
Bamon Fics
Before I Take My Flesh Away by Orig1n - the fic where Bonnie and Damon are comically bonded, and she hops around in his timeline pre (and during) the series. Tragically unfinished, but completely incredible! Kudos for developing Stefan and Damon as brothers and making me not hate Lily Salvatore. Also love the Arthurian lore.
if you love me (don't let go) by sarcastic_fina - this is a heartbreaking deconstruction of Bonnie and her victim mentality, and shows the strength of not only her romantic relationship with Damon, but her friendships with Caroline, Matt, and Tyler. So sad, but so good!
Bloodstone by cactusfinch - Bonnie time travels to 1864 (with all the problems entailed). Her relationship with Damon is done well here, and her friendship (sort of!) with Katherine is fun as hell.
rest for the wicked (hope for the weary) by castelia - Damon and Bonnie go on a road trip together after the prison word. I am a sucker for mutual pining, and this fic does it so well!
Fifty-Five Years by turningofflights - written from Elena's perspective, after she reads Bonnie's diary entries and learns how Bonnie and Damon fell in love. A bittersweet, believable love story for Bonnie and Damon.
Other Bonnie Bennett Ship Fics
The Edge of Night by Szajnie - a crossover between season 3 of the Originals and season 7 of the Vampire Diaries, where Bonnie goes to New Orleans. She's absolutely in her element here as the most powerful New Orleans witch, takes the supernatural world by storm, and everyone has a happier ending because of it (including her!). Absolutely love her friendships with Davina, Vincent, and Freya, and shout-out for being the only fic to make me care about Cami! Truly, this is great. The NOLA gang is the family Bonnie deserves, and the Bonnie/Klaus is so believable.
Kai Parket Screwed Us (Until Bonnie Bennett Screwed Him) by hysteriaww - exactly what it sounds like. Bonnie shows up to help Josie and Lizzie deal with the prison world and her and Kai's insane relationship weirds everyone out. Deals with the Gemini Coven in a really interesting way. Hilarious, and with mild Damon and Alaric bashing. BonKai.
Season One, Epsidoes One-Three by BorgiaBabe - a rewrite of the first three episodes of TVD with Bonnie as a proper main character. Her love interest is a softer Kai, and it's great! Bonnie really deserves better.
the night light hits off, turning kisses to bites by donutworry - an insane, dark, twisted Bonnie and Kai romance, where they're the only ones in the prison world from the start. I absolutely love the Gemini Coven lore in this fic.
Klaroline Fics
Make them bow by for_darkness_shows_the_stars - Klaus appears in season 1 of the vampire diaries. it's Klaroline, but still super gen, and all the characters get their own compelling arcs in it. Especially love the way Elena and Stefan are written.
One of A Kind, Two of a Kind, or the Three Musketeers by Phandancee74 - Caroline is an ancient nymph who was erased from memory by Malivore. She still helps the Mystic Falls gang out (and her relationship with Bonnie is great)! The Klaus/Caroline is angsty and lovely.
Calling on a Friend by Phandancee74 - 5 year old Josie gets Klaus's number. Shenanigans ensue. Short and cute as hell.
Sanctuary in their Hearts by thatsanotherlovestory - Caroline leaves before the season 8 wedding, and heads to New Orleans with Klaus. A fun story, but still so sad Bonnie didn't get her happy ending in it. The twins are so cute in this.
Let's do the Time Loop again! by kcatdino - on the night of the sacrifice, both Klaus and Caroline get stuck in a time loop. It's so funny to watch them get more and more deranged.
sweet present of the present by VintageLilac - it's Caroline, not Rebekah, who raises Hope while New Orleans is at war. I absolutely love Katherine in this fic, and though Hayley gets the short end of the stick it's written quite well.
The Wolf by Yokan - a witch version of Caroline is the one pregnant with Klaus's baby in the originals. And while season 1 doesn't change a lot because of it, the later one's definitely do! I love the Klaus and Caroline relationship, and Caroline & Elijah friendship.
Elena Gilbert-Centric Fic
The stars were brightly shining by adlyb - a fic where Elena is pregnant with Klaus's baby. It's so hard to describe! A little twisted, a little sweet, and a thorough depiction of Elena's mental state.
The Forgotten by MissNMikaelson - Elena time travels and gets dropped in the middle of Klaus and Kol's war in New Orleans, circa 1914. The flashback scenes in the fic are great! Eventual Kol/Elena.
blame it on the stardust by allwritenow - the fic that looks into if Elena's doppelganger nature affected her more. And a truly beautiful Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena friendship.
Off by a Single Degree by Tarroko - when Elena's phone dies, Damon walks her home and never compels away her memories, and her parents never die. This softer, sweeter Elena is so believable, and I love the way canon immediately shifts. Amazing development of her parents, Anna, and Enzo. Delena.
Katherine Pierce Centric Fic
afflictions eclipsed by glory by passionesque - in 1864, right after the fire in Mystic Falls, Elijah finds Katherine. They team up together against Klaus. This deals with Katherine's trauma and cunning so well! A slow build to Elijah/Katherine, involving him acknowledging his faults.
General Mystic Falls Gang Fics
in another life (i would let you go) by sarcastic_fina - Elena wakes up in a world where she isn't the doppelganger and no one knows her. An interesting deconstruction of the affects she's had on her friends.. Manages to be both Elena-bashing and sympathetic at the same time. Minor Steroline and Bamon.
Originals Family Feels
It All Comes Crumbling Down by AlwaysAkin - can I do a self-rec? I'm doing a self-rec. Hope is born a century earlier, and grows up in New Orleans with the Mikaelsons. I'm particularly proud of my Hope-Marcel bond and young!Hope voice in this one.
A Twist Through Time by fandom_lover_101 - Hope is sent back in time to the Vampire Diaries season 3. She messes everything up. Absolutely love the slow Hope & Klaus relationship built here, and her friendship with Elena is cute too. Minor Klaroline, Delena, and Handon.
Always & Tomorrow by Viretta - another tragically unfinished fic. Set after Hope jumps into Malivore in Legacies, it involves the dead Mikaelsons being resurrected, and the kids from the Salvatore School travelling to New Orleans (with a newly activated tribrid Hope). This is a Mikaelson family story in the bloodiest, best way. Has Handon and Klaroline in addition to the canon originals couples.
if no one in the entire world cared about you (did you really exist at all?) by nevermore_evermore - Elijah is erased from the minds of everyone he loves. Kol is (eventually) there to help him through it. An interesting take on Elijah's place in the family.
A Million Mistakes by mon-amour-eternel - a fic where Caroline is also an original, and her and Klaus are Marcel's parents. Sadly unfinished, especially considering the rarity of Marcel-centric fic!
But Stand Brave, Life-Liver by crownjrose - A Hayley-centric fic! Her foster parents come to New Orleans and see the way her life turned out. Interesting closure for Hayley, and a sweet Klaus/Hayley relationship.
Kolvina Fic
(finally) you and me are the lucky ones by yorkes - a long one-shot where Kol and Davina are soulmates. It's cute as hell! And Kol and Davina really grow into each other in this one.
The Vixen and the Fox by BlueBooThalassophile - be warned, this read is long as hell. But it's also great. Davina time travels to the Vampire Diaries season 4, gets involved in the fight against Silas, and everything goes sideways immediately. Love Davina's friendship with Hayley and bond with Marcel in this one. Every character in both shows appears in this one.
The first thing Klaus noticed when he returned to the compound was the smell of food cooking. The second thing he noticed was the looks on the faces of his little brother and sister. Kol was carrying a passed-out Bonnie Bennett, shackles around her wrists, and Rebekah looked shaken, her eyes distant, haunted by something she could barely process.
"What happened?" Klaus demanded, brow furrowing, his gaze shifting to Bonnie’s unconscious form. "Is she alive?"
"She's fine," Kol replied, setting her down on the sofa with surprising gentleness. "She… cried herself to sleep on the drive here," he explained, looking down at the young witch, his expression uncharacteristically soft, but shadowed.
"Well, that’s reassuring," Klaus quipped, though his voice held a thread of unease. His eyes flicked over each of them. "And where’s our esteemed brother?"
"Preparing a family dinner for us," Rebekah said bitterly, her voice hollow. "He’s completely off his rocker, he killed both the Salvatore's and now he's acting like everything's fine. It's madness, Klaus, pure madness."
Klaus' eyes widened, a flicker of surprise crossing his features. He looked to Kol, who nodded.
"He did, and he is," Kol added, his brow furrowed.
"How could you let him?" Klaus snapped, his words sharp, though the accusation in his tone was softened by a flash of disbelief.
"Let him?" Kol let out a harsh laugh, his eyes blazing. "Do you honestly think we could have stopped him?"
"You weren't there," Rebekah said quietly, her gaze unfocused, her mind elsewhere. "It happened so fast... How were we supposed to know? He's lost his bloody mind."
Freya entered the room, her brow furrowed, her eyes narrowing as she surveyed the scene. "Uh, dinner is ready," she announced, looking extremely uncomfortable. "Elijah wants you all to wear your best, so... go put on something nice," she said, her gaze drifting back to Bonnie. "And he wants her at the table too," she added, nodding toward the unconscious witch.
Kol let out a humorless chuckle, a grim smirk playing on his lips. Rebekah's face was pale, her eyes haunted, her hands trembling slightly as she reached up to touch her necklace.
"I'd rather not," she murmured, her voice soft and small.
"I don't think we have a choice, sweet sister," Kol said, his expression dark. "Unless we want to end up like the Salvatores,"
Klaus sighed, a scowl forming on his face. He glanced at his siblings, noting their unease. Usually he was the cause of it, but this time was different. He didn't know exactly when it happened, but it seemed his role in the family dynamic had changed. It was now his job to be the conciliator, and he hated it.
"It will be fine," he told them, though he wasn't sure he believed his own words. "I'll talk to him."
Kol's eyebrows rose, his eyes flashing with doubt. "I doubt he'll listen to anything you have to say."
"He'll listen to reason," Klaus said, his tone firm, his jaw clenched.
Kol laughed again, but this time it was filled with genuine amusement. "And what reason is that, brother?"
"I'd say it's best not to keep Elijah waiting," Freya sighed, a note of apprehension in her tone.
"Fine," Rebekah said, her gaze flickering to her brothers, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll go get ready," she muttered, walking away.
Kol and Freya followed her and Klaus stayed behind, his eyes narrowed, his gaze darkening. He could feel the anger rising inside him, but he kept it in check. He had to remain calm. For once, he was the reasonable one, the one in control. He would have to be careful.
Elijah was standing at the head of the table, dressed in his best suit, his face clean-shaven. He was pouring wine for everyone, moving with the unshakable calm of a man who was not currently sane.
"Good evening," he said, a smile tugging at his lips as they all entered the dining room. "I trust you're all well?"
Klaus watched him carefully, his eyes never leaving him as they all sat down. Kol placed Bonnie in the chair next to him, gently propping her up and taking a seat beside her.
"What are you doing?" Rebekah asked, her voice quiet and strained.
"Having dinner," Elijah replied, his voice smooth and calm, as if he hadn't just tortured and killed two people.
"You murdered Damon and Stefan," she accused, her eyes brimming with tears.
Elijah's smile faltered for a moment, a hint of guilt flashing across his face. But then he recovered, his expression becoming neutral again.
"We're here to discuss my wife," he said, his tone clipped, his gaze flicking around the table. "That is all."
"Your dead wife," Kol muttered, his brow furrowed, his eyes narrowed.
"My soon to be living wife," Elijah corrected, his tone cool. "With the help of Miss Bennett."
"I don't think it's wise to push the girl," Freya cut in, her voice quiet and hesitant. "And this spell... It’s not a straightforward resurrection spell. It’s a hybrid of rites… a mix of necromancy and invocation. I think it might summon the spirit of the dead back to earth while binding it to life,"
"I don't care what it is," Elijah retorted, his jaw clenched, his gaze steely. "Just make it happen."
"Elijah," Klaus began, his voice low, his gaze focused. "I understand that you're hurting, and I know that this is a difficult time for us all, but torturing and murdering our friends will not bring her back,"
"I recall you tortured Stefan not too long ago," he pointed out, his eyes narrowing. "And you Rebekah? You carved up Damon like a Thanksgiving turkey… how are my actions any different?"
Rebekah flinched, her shoulders tensing, her jaw clenching. She looked down at her plate, avoiding his gaze.
"First of all, our actions weren't permanent. Second, we acted rashly. You're a better man than us, Elijah. This isn't who you are." Klaus said, his tone even.
Elijah's expression darkened, his eyes narrowing, his gaze sharpening. He leaned forward, placing his palms flat on the table, his jaw set, a muscle in his cheek twitching.
"I'm not," he said, his voice hard, his words clipped. "And I will do whatever is necessary to get my wife back."
"You know as well as I that there’s no such thing as a spell without a price, and this one… this one sounds like it’ll cost us." Klaus stated, his gaze unwavering.
"I don't care what the consequences are," Elijah hissed, his tone venomous, his eyes blazing.
"Even if it means killing more innocent people?" Kol challenged, his voice a low growl.
"I would kill anyone and everyone if it meant bringing her back," Elijah snapped, his eyes wild.
He slammed his hand down on the table, his face flushed with anger. Everyone jumped, startled by his outburst, and for a moment, no one spoke.
The silence hung heavy in the air, suffocating the room. Elijah took a deep breath, his composure returning as quickly as it had slipped.
"Time for the first course," he said, a tight smile tugging at his lips as he straightened up.
A series of waiters came out from the kitchen, each one carrying an empty glass. A young blonde stood next to Klaus. Another young woman with brown hair approaching Kol. And a handsome older gentleman stopped at Rebekah.
"I've procured your favorites, all ab negative, in honor of the occasion," Elijah explained, his voice smooth and even.
He gestured for the three humans to approach the vampires, his gaze locked on his siblings. The trio walked over, their expressions blank, their eyes glassy. They all cut their wrists, pouring their blood into the glasses, not even flinching as their flesh was sliced open.
The siblings looked at one another, usually this would be the part where they would start drinking, but there was no enthusiasm in the air. Only dread and disgust.
"Go ahead," Elijah encouraged, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
They reluctantly grabbed their glasses, taking a few sips. Each sip was like a bitter pill, burning their throats as it went down.
"I want to thank you all for coming," Elijah continued, ignoring their discomfort. "And I want to express how much it means to me to have your support."
Klaus set his glass down, his expression unreadable, his eyes betraying a hint of anger.
"This is quite the pathetic manipulation, brother. Do you think you can convince us with our favorite food? That you haven’t gone completely mad… by bringing us a few snacks?" Klaus asked, his tone icy.
Elijah's eyes grew darker, his jaw tightening, but he remained composed. He walked over to the blonde standing next to Klaus and grabbed her roughly by the hair.
"I recall you enjoying draining the life from a girl like her," Elijah growled, his eyes wild, his voice dangerous. "Perhaps you'd prefer that instead?"
He wrenched her neck to the side, exposing her jugular. The others stared at him, frozen with shock.
"Stop, Elijah," Klaus said, his voice quiet, his gaze sharp.
"Or what?" Elijah sneered, his grip tightening on the girl's throat. "It's not like you haven't done it before. In fact, you enjoy it. You always have."
"Please," the girl whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Please don't hurt me."
He leaned in closer, his mouth inches from her ear, his voice barely a whisper. "Tell my family to help me, or I'll dismember you in front of them."
The girl's eyes widened, her breathing quickening. She looked at the vampires, her gaze pleading, her lips trembling.
"Help him," she begged, her voice shaking, tears rolling down her face. "Please, help him."
Rebekah shook her head, her heart racing, a wave of nausea washing over her. Freya watched the exchange, her brow furrowed, a look of uncertainty and fear crossing her features. Kol's expression was a mix of anger and revulsion, his hands balled into fists, his body tense.
Klaus remained motionless, his gaze fixed on his brother, his eyes hard.
Elijah looked at each one of them, his eyes dark and wild, a hint of madness flickering in them.
"I’ve never asked any of you for anything," he said, his voice steady but laced with a quiet desperation. "Not until now. This is my wife. This is my life. I won’t give her up, not again."
The silence was heavy, the tension in the room palpable. None of them knew what to say, and none of them knew what to do. Their brother had lost his mind, and he wasn't going to stop until he got what he wanted.
"Help him," the girl repeated, her voice breaking.
Rebekah rose slowly to her feet, her hands reached out in a calming manner, her eyes meeting Elijah’s, filled with pain. "You know we would do anything for you, Elijah. But this… this is dangerous."
Elijah’s eyes darkened, frustration flaring. "Not any more dangerous than when Klaus became a hybrid, or when Kol was resurrected, or any of the other times we’ve been forced to do the impossible."
Rebekah hesitated, her chest tightening, a knot forming in her stomach. She glanced at Klaus, then at Freya and Kol, her eyes pleading, her throat constricting.
"This is different," Freya interjected, her voice strained. "I can feel it, Elijah. This spell… it wants something in return. It’s alive, in a way."
Elijah’s gaze sharpened, his calm veneer finally cracking. "Why will none of you help me?" he snapped, his voice rising, his temper flaring.
"Because we loved your wife," Klaus retorted, his tone low, his expression fierce. "And because we know that whatever this is, it's going to hurt her. It's going to hurt you. And she wouldn't want that."
"Don't tell me what she wants!" Elijah bellowed, pushing the blonde girl away from him, sending her stumbling towards Klaus. "I am her husband. I'm the one who is supposed to be by her side, not any of you."
"Elijah, please," Rebekah pleaded, her voice cracking, her eyes welling with tears.
"No, you will help me," he commanded, his voice cold, his expression hard.
"Or what?" Klaus challenged, sending the blonde girl scurrying away, his gaze unflinching, his tone firm. "Are you going to hurt us? Your own family?"
Elijah's gaze met Klaus', his eyes blazing, his jaw clenched, his knuckles white. The two brothers stared each other down, a silent battle of wills.
Klaus could feel the anger, the desperation, and the grief rolling off Elijah in waves, but he knew he had to be strong, for his family and for you.
"I will do what is necessary," Elijah growled, his words dripping with malice.
"Then do it," Klaus snarled, he stood up and moved swiftly around the table, grabbing his older brother by the collar, pulling him closer. "Go ahead and rip my heart out, make yourself feel better, but it won't bring her back. And you know that."
"Niklaus," Kol said, his tone warning.
"No," Klaus said, his eyes fixed on Elijah, his grip tightening. "He needs to face reality. I won't let him ruin our lives over his selfish grief."
Elijah's nostrils flared, his hands clenching into fists, he bared his teeth, his fangs elongating, his eyes turning black. "You have no right," he hissed, his voice a low growl.
Before Klaus could react, Elijah struck him, his fist connecting with his jaw. Klaus stumbled back, caught off guard by the sudden attack. He recovered quickly, lunging at Elijah, tackling him to the ground. The two brothers wrestled on the floor, fighting viciously, the sound of their grunts and curses echoing throughout the room.
"Stop it!" Rebekah shouted, her voice breaking. "Both of you! This isn't helping,"
She ran over, trying to pull Elijah off of Klaus, but he shrugged her off, sending her flying into the wall. She crashed against it, a pained groan escaping her lips. Freya moved to help her, but Kol held her back, a wary look on his face.
"Stay back," he warned, his voice low, his eyes never leaving the fight. "It's not safe."
Klaus and Elijah continued to grapple, each one gaining the upper hand only to lose it a moment later. Blood stained their faces and clothes, their bodies bruised and battered, but neither one of them was willing to give up.
Rebekah tried to separate them one again, and this time Elijah turned on her, his eyes wild, his movements frenzied. She blocked his blows as best she could, but she was no match for him, his strength overwhelming her. His eyes were completely black, his rage overtaking him, a look of pure madness on his face.
He grabbed Rebekah by the throat, lifting her off the ground. She clawed at his arms, her nails digging into his flesh, but it was no use. He was too strong, his grip too tight.
Klaus yelled, a primal scream tearing from his throat, his anger and desperation fueling him. He launched himself at Elijah, knocking him off balance and sending him crashing to the ground.
The impact was enough to break his grip on Rebekah, and she fell to the floor, gasping for breath. The three of them falling into a heap.
"Enough!" Freya shouted, her voice full of fury. She raised her hands, a blast of magic shooting out, hitting Elijah and throwing him against the far wall.
Rebekah clutched her throat, her face pale, her breathing ragged. Klaus crawled over to her, pulling her into his arms.
Freya kept her gaze locked on Elijah, her magic holding him in place. He was yelling and sobbing, thrashing against the wall, his eyes wide and unfocused.
"I can't keep him like this forever," she warned, her voice strained, her eyes full of pain and sorrow.
Elijah could hear you calling his name, his vision swimming. The room around him was fading in and out, the walls bleeding, the shadows stretching. He saw you, standing in the doorway, a look of sadness on your face.
"What have you become?" You whispered, your voice echoing in his mind.
Your words snapped him back to reality. He stopped struggling, his eyes meeting yours.
"Please," he pleaded, his voice breaking. "Don't leave me."
You looked at him, your expression unreadable, and then you were gone.
Elijah felt his heart shatter into a thousand pieces, his chest tightening, his breathing growing ragged. He saw Rebekah on the floor, her eyes wide with fear. Fear of him. His baby sister, who looked at him with nothing but love and admiration, now looked at him as if he were a monster.
The guilt and shame overwhelmed him, his eyes filling with tears, his shoulders sagging.
"I'm sorry," he choked out, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm so sorry."
Freya's magic faded, and he collapsed to the floor, his body trembling. He curled up into a ball, sobbing uncontrollably, his pain and grief consuming him.
His siblings watched him, their hearts breaking for him.
"I see her everywhere," he cried, his voice raw. "She's always there, in my head, in my dreams, in my heart. I can't stop thinking about her, and every day, it just gets worse."
Kol moved closer to him, hesitantly reaching out to comfort him, but he pushed them away.
"Don't," he gasped, his voice strained. "I don't deserve it. I'm a monster. I can't even protect the people I love."
Kol crouched down, his expression filled with sympathy. "She loved you so much Elijah, you know that. Don't let her death destroy you," he said softly, his voice full of understanding.
Elijah met his gaze, his eyes full of anguish.
"If you won't help me, will you kill me?" he asked, his voice breaking. "I can't live like this, not without her."
"Elijah..." Rebekah whispered, her own tears falling.
"Please," he begged, his voice trembling, his eyes filled with pain. "Then I could see her again, and maybe... Maybe she would forgive me."
The silence in the room was deafening, each sibling processing his words. He was a broken man, a shell of the noble, honorable brother they knew and loved. And it was killing them to see him like this.
Klaus slowly approached him, kneeling down next to him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"We'll help you, brother," he said quietly, his voice laced with sorrow. "Damn the consequences, we'll help you."
Elijah lifted his head, his eyes wide with disbelief, his breath catching in his throat.
"Really?" he asked, his voice shaking.
"Yes," Rebekah said, kneeling down on the other side of him. "Whatever it takes."
Elijah looked at his siblings, his gaze filled with hope and gratitude. He reached out, pulling them into a hug, holding onto them as if his life depended on it.
"Thank you," he whispered, his voice cracking.
The siblings clung to one another, each of them feeling the weight of their decision, the uncertainty and fear they felt. They knew that whatever they were about to do, it would change all of them forever.
13th century Europe
You woke in an unfamiliar bed, the sheets soft and warm against your skin. You sat up, blinking, disoriented. You looked around the room, taking in the dark walls and mahogany furniture, a large window letting in a sliver of pale moonlight.
The memories came flooding back. The villagers, the pain, the darkness, and then, Elijah.
Panic rose within you, and you flung the covers back, stumbling from the bed. The stone floor was cold beneath your bare feet, and you glanced down, seeing that you were wearing only a nightgown.
You wrapped your arms around yourself, shivering, and padded to the door. As soon as you pulled it open, a rush of sound met your ears.
There was a flurry of activity around you, men from the village were carrying things down the stairs, crates and chests, talking quietly among themselves.
"What's going on?" you asked, confusion clouding your thoughts.
One of the men turned, startled. "We must take everything to the carriage," there was a strange look in his eye, an emptiness, and he hurried away, carrying a crate.
You felt a pair of warm hands on your waist, and whirled around, seeing Elijah. He was dressed in a simple tunic, his sleeves rolled up, and his hair was slightly disheveled.
Your eyes met his, and a mixture of emotions flooded through you. You couldn't quite make sense of it all, the guilt and shame warring with relief and longing. He had the same expression, his gaze intense and unreadable.
He leaned in and kissed you, his lips soft and insistent, and you felt yourself melting into him.
"Elijah..." you breathed, pulling away, a million questions burning within you. "What's happening? Why are these men here?"
"We're leaving," he said simply, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"Leaving?" you echoed, your mind reeling.
He nodded, pulling you closer. "We have overstayed our welcome, and it is time to move on."
"Move on?" you repeated, the questions piling up, your thoughts still fuzzy.
He sighed, brushing a strand of hair from your face. "I have taken care of things, my dear. You need not worry."
"But...how? What did you do?"
"Come," he said, ignoring your questions. He took your hand, leading you down the stairs, the men following behind.
Everything was so loud, so chaotic, and you found yourself clinging to Elijah's hand, trying to make sense of it all.
Outside, a horse-drawn carriage was waiting, and the men were loading the last of the crates. Elijah led you over to the carriage, helping you inside.
The interior was richly appointed, with plush velvet seats and elegant carvings. There was a faint, spicy smell, and you settled back, the leather smooth beneath you.
"Stay here, I won't be long. And I'll explain everything when we arrive at our new home," Elijah said, his tone soothing, reassuring.
Before you could say anything else, the carriage door was closed, and you were left alone. Watching the men load more crates, a nagging thought tugged at the edge of your mind.
You could hear their heartbeats, clear as a song bird's call, pumping blood through their veins. Your stomach twisted, the hunger rising inside you and then your feet took over, moving almost of their own volition.
You ran, a burst of speed that took you past the men and straight into the village. You stopped, taking a deep breath, and the familiar smells overwhelmed you, the urge to feed becoming almost unbearable.
You didn't understand how you ended up here so fast, the manor house was nearly a days walk away. You didn't even realize where you were headed, until you heard it.
The beating.
A steady, rhythmic thumping, a heartbeat, and a familiar scent, sweet and tempting. You moved silently, almost instinctively, creeping through the shadows until you found her.
Sister Margaret.
Her habit was discarded, a pile of black fabric, and she was kneeling in front of an altar, a silver cross hanging from the wall, flickering candlelight surrounding her.
The sound of her heart was almost deafening, and the bloodlust consumed you, driving away all reason. You crept closer, the darkness concealing you, and before you knew what you were doing, your fangs had pierced her neck, the taste of her blood exploding in your mouth.
It was sweet and intoxicating, and you couldn't stop, even as the tears ran down her face, her body convulsing, her life ebbing away.
When the blood flow slowed, and the heartbeat stopped, you withdrew, looking at her with a detached curiosity. Her eyes were empty, the color gone from her face, and a wave of nausea washed over you.
"No," you whispered, stumbling back, your hand pressed to your mouth, a sick feeling settling in the pit of your stomach.
The realization hit, a jarring, gut-wrenching understanding. You were a monster, a demon, a creature of the night. You had taken a life, without a second thought, the need for blood consuming you.
A scream from behind tore you from your thoughts, and you turned to see Mother Mathilde standing in the doorway, her eyes wide with shock.
"No, this cannot be," she whispered, her voice shaking.
In the blink of an eye, you were standing in front of her, the hunger still burning within you. She stepped back, her face twisted in fear.
"O Lord Almighty, God of Hosts, we humbly beseech Thee to drive out this unclean spirit, this deceiver, this enemy of the faithfu-"
Anger flared within you. You could still feel the stones slamming into you, the pain, the betrayal, and a growl escaped your lips. You wanted to rip her heart out, to make her pay for what she had done, for all the pain she had caused. You lunged at her, the bloodlust driving you.
Your fangs sunk deep into her throat, and her blood filled your mouth, thick and bitter. You drained her dry, and it was the first time you felt true power. A rush of deep satisfaction flowed through you, the heady taste of vengeance.
"What a delicious sight," Elijah's voice came from behind, and you whirled around, seeing him leaning against the doorway.
He was staring at you with a mix of admiration and desire, and something about it made you blush.
You glanced down, seeing the blood dripping from your hands, and the reality of what you had done hit you. You let her lifeless body fall, her glassy eyes staring at the ceiling, her mouth open in a silent scream.
"What have I become? A demon, a monster," you whispered, the shame washing over you, threatening to drown you.
Elijah crossed the distance between you in a flash, cupping your face in his hands. His eyes met yours, his voice soft and soothing. "Don't be afraid, love. This is a gift, a new beginning, a chance to truly live."
"Live?" you echoed, the word heavy with meaning.
"Yes, to live," he said, brushing a strand of hair from your face. "To see the world, and all its wonders. To experience every sensation, and explore every possibility."
His words were intoxicating, and you couldn't deny the truth. Something was changing within you, a spark of life, a hunger for more.
"Where do we go from here?" you asked, a flutter of anticipation rising in your chest.
"Anywhere you want," he said, his voice laced with promise.
"Show me," you whispered, and a wicked smile spread across his face.
He leaned down, his lips brushing against yours. "With pleasure,"
Elijah stood at the stop of the old stone steps leading to the cellar, his face grim, his heart heavy. The only light in the room came from the torches on the wall, casting his face in shadow.
He hadn't been down there since the day you died. Your coffin still lay on the table, its lid closed, the silence in the air suffocating.
He walked over, placing his hand on the smooth surface. His throat tightened, his breath catching in his chest as he thought of you, your lifeless body, your empty eyes, gray skin. He would never see you smile, or hear your laughter again, and the grief was a raw wound that refused to heal.
He knew it was madness, he knew that the odds of this working were slim, and yet he couldn't shake the feeling that it was his only chance. He had lost so much, sacrificed everything. He couldn't lose you too.
He told himself it was all justified as he removed the lid from your coffin. You deserved the chance to come back, to be happy.
He would do anything for you.
"I'm sorry, my love," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
He laid a blanket out, then gently lifted you out of the coffin, holding you tightly against him. Your body was cold, stiff, and lifeless, but he held you close, as if willing his life into yours.
"It'll be alright," he murmured, tears stinging his eyes, his throat aching.
He had to believe that, no matter what the cost.
As the darkness surrounded him, the silence was deafening. He placed you on the blanket, his fingers lingering on your cheek, wrapping the blanket around you, his face lined with sorrow.
He lifted you, his arms wrapped protectively around your body, carrying you up the stairs. Every step felt heavier, and by the time he reached the courtyard, his entire body ached, his mind swimming with grief and guilt.
Bonnie stood in the center of the courtyard, still handcuffed and surrounded by the Original siblings, her face pale, her eyes dark and wary.
"I don't want any part of this," Bonnie said, her voice low and shaking.
Elijah gently placed your body on the ground, his hands lingering for a moment before he turned to face her, his expression unreadable.
"If you want to walk out of here alive, you'll do this," Elijah's voice was barely above a whisper, his eyes fixed on her, dark and dangerous.
Bonnie swallowed, her face twisting in disgust, her mind reeling with the memories of Damon and Stefan's deaths, the sound of their bodies hitting the ground, their lifeless faces.
She couldn't bring herself to speak, her throat constricting as she fought back the tears.
Freya looked at her, her voice gentle but urgent. "You're the only one who can do this, Bonnie. It has to be you."
"Fine," Bonnie snapped, her gaze hardening. "But I'll only do it once, and I won't have any part of whatever else happens after."
Elijah nodded. "That's all I ask."
Freya stepped forward, the spell book in her hand, and placed it in Bonnie's. She unshackled her wrists, and Bonnie rubbed them, trying to relieve the aching pressure, glaring at her captors.
Elijah nodded to his siblings, and they formed a circle around the witch and the body, a solemn hush falling over the courtyard.
Elijah got to his knees, looking up at Bonnie with a pleading, almost desperate expression. "Do it," he ordered, his voice hoarse.
She hesitated, her eyes searching his, then nodded, her eyes growing cold as she reached out her hand to Freya. "Knife," she said.
Freya hesitated, "I was going to-"
Bonnie gave her a cold stare, cutting her off.
Freya's brow furrowed, but she handed Bonnie a small, ornate dagger.
Bonnie gave a slight smirk as she took it, then looked at Elijah.
"Tenebrae animarum, viam aperite (Shadows of souls, open the way)"
Her words echoed through the courtyard, the wind picking up as the clouds parted, the moonlight spilling onto the courtyard, bathing it in an ethereal glow.
Bonnie raised the dagger, looking down at Elijah, and brought the blade down, the tip of the blade resting just above his heart.
"I'm going to make sure this hurts," she hissed, her voice dripping with malice.
She plunged the dagger into his heart, a look of pleasure spreading across her face as his body jerked and his face twisted in pain. She wasn't gentle, or precise when carving out the organ, her movements jagged and rough.
He gritted his teeth, fighting the urge to scream, his vision blurring as blood flowed from the gaping wound, soaking the ground.
Bonnie dropped the dagger, her hands stained red, and reached inside the open wound, her eyes gleaming as she pulled out his still-beating heart.
She held it in her hands, the organ pulsing, the blood flowing down her arms, the moonlight glinting off the crimson liquid. Elijah's body collapsed next to yours, his eyes staring sightlessly into the sky.
Bonnie closed her eyes, the wind swirling around her, the moon shining brighter. Her hands glowed with power as she began the spell.
Rebekah looked away, her stomach churning as Bonnie dropped the heart into the bowl, the blood pooling inside.
"Ex corde sacrificium, dilectionis vinculum. (From the heart, a sacrifice, bound by love.)"
Kol's jaw clenched, his face pale, his eyes fixed on the bloody heart in the bowl. While Klaus stood stone-faced, the muscles in his jaw tightening, a glimmer of unease in his eyes.
Freya stood next to Bonnie, her expression focused as she chanted, her hands clasped in front of her.
Even though his siblings knew he would rise again, the sight of Elijah's body was still unsettling, the gravity of what they were doing finally sinking in.
Bonnie handed the knife to Klaus, the blade stained red, and he took it, his eyes narrowing.
She held out the bowl to him, her expression blank, devoid of emotion. "We need enough blood to submerge the heart," she explained.
Klaus nodded, his jaw clenched, his gaze never leaving hers. He took the knife, slicing his wrist open, his blood dripping into the bowl.
He handed the blade to Rebekah, and she repeated the gesture, her face pale. Followed by Kol, who did the same.
Freya took the bowl once there was enough blood and dipped the heart into it, the blood soaking into the flesh.
"Sanguine renascitur, vita et mors iunguntur. (By blood reborn, life and death are joined.)"
She knelt next to you and Elijah's body, placing his heart on your chest. She glanced up at Bonnie, a look of apprehension on her face, and the witch nodded, her expression grim.
Freya closed her eyes, and placed her hands over the heart, pressing down gently, her brow furrowing in concentration.
Bonnie's face twisted with strain, sweat beading on her forehead as she chanted.
"Corpus recipiat cor, anima revocetur. (Let the body receive the heart, let the soul return.)"
Freya's voice rose, and she felt the magic building inside her, swirling like a hurricane. Her hands began to shake, her fingers trembling as she felt the spell reaching its climax.
"In nomine dilectionis, viam ingredere. (In the name of love, cross the path.)"
Bonnie's voice shook, the words almost impossible to understand, her body shaking as the magic surged through her.
Freya's eyes flew open, her hands gripping the heart tightly, her eyes wild. With all her strength she picked up the heart, as though it weighed a thousand pounds, and placed it back into Elijah's chest.
The wind whipped around them, howling like wolves, and thunder rolled across the sky, lightning illuminating the courtyard.
Freya placed her hand over the wound, pouring all her magic into it, and the air was filled with tingling, sparks dancing along their skin.
"Animam caram reducite, ad vitam resurgite. (Bring back the cherished soul, rise again to life.)"
Bonnie's words echoed through the air, the power flowing from her into the spell, her body trembling, her mind filled with the rush of magic, the smell of rain, the roar of the storm.
And then, there was silence. The wind stopped, the clouds drifted apart, and the moonlight bathed the courtyard once again.
Rebekah's eyes widened, and she rushed over, kneeling next to her brother. Freya looked up, her face drawn, her eyes filled with uncertainty.
"Did it work?" Rebekah whispered.
"I don't know," Freya replied, her voice shaky.
Rebekah touched his shoulder gently. "Elijah?"
Elijah's body was motionless, the wound on his chest beginning to heal.
"He's gone to fetch her," Kol said, his voice quiet.
Freya stood, breathless and pale, her gaze fixed on Elijah. “He’s crossed over. Now we wait.”
As the living world faded, Elijah felt the pull of an unseen force, and a swirling mist began to envelop him. He felt like he was falling through clouds, the darkness closing in around him, until finally, he came to a stop, his feet touching solid ground.
His footsteps echoing as he moved through the dense, ghostly fog. Shadows whispered, and time seemed to fold around him, twisting and bending as he descended further, guided only by an instinct that he couldn’t name.
Through the mist, a faint light glimmered, soft and warm. He made his way toward it, the shadows fading, the light growing brighter, until he reached the edge of the fog.
Before him was a garden, lush and green, filled with the scent of flowers and grass, and the sound of birdsong. The sun shone, its warmth caressing his skin, and the trees swayed in the gentle breeze.
As Elijah walked through the garden, his eyes adjusting to the light, he saw you. The real you. He knew it instantly.
There you were, sitting on a stone bench, wearing a white sundress, your hair falling in soft waves. You looked like an angel, and his heart swelled, a knot forming in his throat.
He stepped forward, his footsteps soft against the grass, and you turned, a smile spreading across your face, your eyes bright and shining. You leapt up, throwing your arms around him, and he held you close, breathing in the scent of your hair, savoring the feel of your skin.
"What are you doing here?" you asked, your voice muffled against his chest.
"I'm here to bring you home," he murmured, pulling away, taking your hands in his.
"But I am home," you said, confusion coloring your tone.
"Not yet," he replied, his expression pained, his heart aching. "But soon."
You pulled back from him, cupping his face, your brow furrowed. "Elijah, what's wrong?"
He couldn't answer, his throat tightening. There were so many things wrong, confessions that needed to be made, a pain that had no end.
"Nothing. Nothing is wrong, not anymore," he managed, his voice choked.
"Elijah," you said softly, concern flashing in your eyes.
He couldn't bear it any longer, couldn't hide the anguish that had been eating him alive, the pain of losing you. He kissed you, his lips capturing yours, the warmth of your mouth, the taste of you, filling him with a longing so powerful that it threatened to tear him apart.
"Come home," he whispered against your lips. "Come back to me."
Your eyes searched his, your brow furrowing, but he leaned in, kissing you again, his hands gripping your waist. You kissed him back, the desperation in his touch, the ache in his voice, sending a stab of worry through you.
"Oh my love. My sweet Eli. What have you done?" you asked, tears welling in your eyes.
He smiled softly, brushing the tears away, his gaze filled with an unspoken promise. "Don't worry. Everything will be alright."
"Do you feel this place?" You asked, gesturing around. "This peace, this warmth? We can stay here, forever."
Elijah's expression grew pained. "I'm not meant for peace, my love," he said softly.
Your hands slipped around his neck, fingers playing with his hair, and you rested your forehead against his, your eyes closing.
"Why do you think that? That you are undeserving," you whispered.
Elijah didn't speak, his gaze locked with yours, and you could see the pain, the anguish, the guilt.
"I've done terrible things," he whispered, his voice strained. "Things that I'm ashamed of, things that would make you think less of me,"
"No," you murmured, leaning in, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.
"Yes," he replied, his voice hoarse.
He took your hand in his, squeezing it gently, before bringing it up to his lips, brushing a kiss across your knuckles.
"I'm not a good man, and I never will be. But you… you are the best part of me," he murmured. "The only light I've ever known."
Your eyes met his, filled with sorrow, and your heart ached for him. "I love you, Elijah. All of you. Even the parts you don't want me to see," you said softly.
His face contorted with grief, his throat tightening, and his voice cracked as he spoke. "How can you?"
You leaned in, your lips grazing his, before resting your forehead against his. "Are souls are one, from the moment we met. We've always been connected, and nothing will change that."
"I failed you," he said, his voice strained, his heart heavy with the weight of his guilt. "I couldn't even avenge your death."
You brushed the tears away from his face, kissing the corner of his mouth, before pulling back to meet his eyes. "You didn't fail me, Elijah. You never could."
He held you close, his hands trembling, his body shuddering with the intensity of his grief. "Please," he whispered, his voice choked. "Don't leave me again,"
His arms tightened around you, his breath catching in his throat, and he pressed his face into the curve of your neck, his shoulders shaking.
You wrapped your arms around him, holding him close, stroking his hair. Your own eyes stung with tears, the knowledge of what was coming weighing on your heart, the sadness and regret threatening to swallow you whole.
"I love you," he whispered, his voice hoarse, muffled against your skin. "More than anything."
"I love you too," you whispered.
He kissed you, his hands cradling your face, his mouth urgent and hungry. His fingers trailed over your skin, tracing the line of your collarbone, the curve of your neck, as if committing it to memory, and your heart broke at the thought.
You smiled, a faint hint of sadness in your eyes. "You have to let me go Eli, I belong here."
He shook his head, his gaze sharp, determined. "No. No, you don't," he said. "And I won't lose you again. Not for anything."
"Elijah-"
"Don't argue," he interrupted, his voice firm.
Your smile faltered, the look in his eyes, the pain and longing, stirring a sense of unease inside you.
"You are not going to let me choose are you?" You asked softly.
He smiled, a hint of sadness in his eyes, his fingers gently brushing against your cheek. "Not this time."
"Don't worry," he whispered, his grip on your waist tightening. "It will be okay,"
"No, it won't," you insisted, your voice shaking, tears stinging your eyes. "You don't understand."
"I understand that I can't live without you," he replied, his voice firm, his eyes dark.
You could see the resolve in his face, the determination in his gaze, and your heart sank. He lifted you up, his arms wrapping around you, and you clung to him, burying your face in his chest.
You couldn't bring yourself to look at him, not as he carried you out of the garden, the warmth of the sun fading, the light dimming, the air growing colder. You didn't want to see the shadows, the darkness, the pain that you knew awaited.
"Please, don't do this," you begged, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Shh," he soothed, his voice low, his arms tightening around you.
"Don't make me go back," you pleaded, the tears sliding down your cheeks, your voice breaking.
"Don't ask me to let you go," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
"You have to," you insisted, the pain in your chest almost unbearable.
"No," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Fear, panic, and desperation rose, the memories swirling like a storm in your mind. Elijah’s hand pressed against your back, his touch steady, calming, though his own heart was pounding.
The wind howled, darkness pressed in, the cold seeped into your bones, and the air grew heavy with foreboding. Elijah’s arms tightened around you as your warmth began to fade, and his heart clenched, realizing he was losing you again.
Suddenly, from the mist, a voice echoed, slicing through the silence: "Cursed child."
The voice surrounded them, growing louder, the darkness thickening. Then a figure emerged from the fog. An indistinct, a shadowy form. Its tone was almost affectionate as it called out to him again, "there you are, my cursed child."
Elijah’s arms tightened around you as he faced the shadowy figure, his heart pounding wildly. He could feel your warmth slipping away, and he refused to let go.
“Do you think you could just steal from me?” the figure mocked, as though speaking to a child.
“She is mine,” Elijah’s voice was hoarse but unwavering, his gaze fierce as he held you protectively.
The figure tilted its head, a glimmer of amusement flickering in its hollow eyes. “Is she?” it whispered, almost tenderly.
Elijah felt a chill creep into his veins, the weight of its gaze bearing down on him like lead.
“What are you?” he demanded, his voice taut, trying to hold his resolve.
The figure stepped closer, its features emerging from the shadows. Possessing a woman’s face, ageless and haunting, with eyes that seemed to pierce into his very soul. “I am the keeper of what you seek to steal back,” she said, her voice both gentle and unyielding.
Elijah’s grip tightened around you. “I’m not giving her to you.”
The figure’s lips twisted into a faint smile. “Then perhaps you would trade, Elijah Mikaelson?”
Elijah’s brows drew together, his heart stuttering as he understood. “What do you want?” he asked, his voice barely more than a whisper, desperation lacing his words.
The figure’s eyes glimmered, savoring his question. “I want you.”
Elijah’s pulse quickened, dread pooling in his gut as he felt your heartbeat slow in his arms, your warmth fading. Time was running out.
“Why?” he whispered.
“I gave you to Time long ago, binding you to a restless eternity,” the figure murmured, almost nostalgic. “It was a good deal, for me and your family. You alone have ushered thousands of souls into my void."
Elijah stared at her, his mouth dry.
"And yet," the figure murmured, her eyes gleaming with a dark hunger, "I long for your old soul…all the suffering, the pain, the blood on your hands. So many lives claimed by your own choices." Her voice was like a song, beautiful and chilling.
Elijah swallowed hard. "What do you want me for?"
"To be my shepherd," the figure whispered. "You will guide my souls into the dark."
A chill swept through him as the meaning sank in. She was asking him to forfeit everything: his family, his redemption, his freedom. He looked down at you, feeling your heart’s weak, faltering beat and watching the faint rise and fall of your breath. Desperation surged through him. He could not. Would not. Lose you again.
"Will she live?" he asked, his voice a tremor of vulnerability.
The figure’s eyes glimmered. "Of course… a fair trade, don’t you think?”
Elijah closed his eyes for a moment, pressing his lips to your forehead. After all that he had done. The countless unforgivable sins he had committed. He didn't do it all just to have you return to the living, he did it to have you. To be with you again. He was done trying to negotiate what he wanted, done pretending his intentions were anything other than selfish. He had no regrets, except perhaps the ones that were still to come.
The thought of leaving you, of leaving his family, it wasn't an option. He thought of your laughter, the way your eyes lit up, the way your voice softened when you spoke his name.
How could he let go of that?
"No," he said, his voice steady as steel, his grip tightening. "We are both leaving. Together. You'll have to kill me before I give her up."
The figure tilted its head, studying him, her expression almost curious. Then, her lips twisted into a sinister smile.
"I cannot stop you, Mr. Mikaelson."
In an instant, her form blurred, the air thickening with an oppressive weight. The ground trembled as a bitter, mocking laugh echoed around him, and the world twisted into darkness. Elijah felt an icy grip tighten around his heart, searing pain slicing through his chest. The shadows pressed in, colder, denser, the voices of the dead shrieking in his ears.
His entire body convulsed as the pain became unbearable, a scream tearing from his throat, reverberating through the void. He clutched you closer, his voice becoming a raw cry in the darkness, his vision fading.
Then, slowly, the agony ebbed, and he found himself on solid ground. He sat up, gasping, surrounded by the anxious faces of his siblings, but his eyes were fixed on you.
Your heart was beating, color had returned to your cheeks, and your eyes were beginning to flutter open. Rebekah knelt beside him, her voice a whisper filled with awe. “You did it.”
Elijah cradled you in his arms, a smile breaking through the tear-streaked relief on his face. "We did it."
He glanced up at his family, quiet joy spreading as they shared a look of silent victory. For a fleeting moment, peace settled over them.
But then, as he gazed down, you opened your eyes and looked up at him… Alive, yet with a distant, empty gaze.
“Who are you?” you asked, your voice soft and confused. “What's happening?”
Elijah’s smile vanished, his world tipping into silence. Panic flashed across his face as he gripped your hands, clinging to the familiar warmth, willing recognition back into your gaze.
"It's me," he murmured, his voice rough, barely above a whisper. "It’s Elijah."
You searched his face, puzzled, your brow furrowing. "I’m sorry," you said, softly shaking your head, "but I don’t know who you are."
The world stilled, his heartbeat slowing as a cold ache settled into his chest, something hollow and irreparable. It was a wound that would not heal, a love now held in silence.
Tumblr media
Death is merciful. Death is simple. A quiet release into the vastness of time.
But for those who have loved across centuries, who have woven their souls through lifetimes, death becomes something else. It becomes a relentless keeper of memories, a silent warden of all they cherished and all they have sacrificed.
To let go would be a mercy, but for the ones who cannot. Who cling to love even as it decays. Time warps into something dark and unyielding. Every lost moment, every choice twisted by grief, binds them tighter to shadows of who they once were. And as they descend deeper into that darkness, the memories, both beautiful and bitter, become chains that will never release them.
The cost of refusing to let go is an eternity haunted, a soul consumed by the ghosts of everything that was, and everything that will never be again.
For death is kind. It is love that is cruel.
Bonnie, The Bennett’s, Black Witches and The Magical Negro Trope & Mammy Trope - TVD META
Tumblr media
Bonnie and the Bennett’s have very rich lore. It’s not glorified by the fandom unless it’s by Bonnie fans themselves. That’s the way it’s always been, no one paying any mind or deeper thought to Bonnie/and the Bennett’s outside of her fans. This isn't a new thing but I want to highlight this once again because I don’t think fans understand there is more than one negative trope rooted in Bonnie, the Bennett’s and black witches only.
Before we get into anything heavy let’s have some key-terms here: Let’s define a magical negro trope: where a black character appears in a plot solely to help a white character and then vanishes. Now what a mammy is: a black woman engaged to take care of white children or as a servant to a white family.
Everything in the series can be tied back to a Bennett witch. Let’s list a few things the immortality spell, immortals, the other side, the cure, supernatural hunters, creating rings to preserve life, the Gilbert device but only a Bennett witch can enchant it, prison worlds, the traveler's curse, vampires, hybrids etc…You name it without the Bennett’s creation there would be nothing. You would think because of this the Bennett’s would be respected in the narrative and by fans. Wrong. Some of these women aren’t even given actual names. Everyone can have a Bennett witch at their disposal but they won’t be respected either. Bennett blood is essential to certain spells. A loophole.
Tumblr media
Let’s talk about Ayana. The Mikaelson’s were only able to become vampires because Esther stole Ayana’s spell. It is forgotten that Esther/Mikael begged Ayana to perform the spell first. The Mikaelson’s as humans trusted Ayana. Rebekah was in shock that a necklace from Ayana burned her. While Ayana remained unnamed this time while the story was told. Rebekah was talking about Ayana. Ayana was known as a healer and given Esther’s praises they were close. The series doesn’t show us why Ayana should value the Mikaelson’s but we do understand why Esther, her husband and children valued her. That infamous necklace that Rebekah loved belonged to Ayana. We don’t know about Ayana’s life outside of being a healer. We don’t know her marital status, how many children she could’ve possibly had and anything tied to her after the plot has used her up. One would think with how close Ayana was to the Mikaelson’s, they’d have some respect or acknowledge Bonnie but that never happens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see this in how Emily was enslaved to Katherine. Julie may have labeled Emily a handmaiden but we knew what that meant. Emily only had one request from Damon that he watch and protect the Bennett line which he never did. The black witches never ask much of anyone in the plot or ever given the chance too. Yet when a request is made no one ever meets said request for them. This form of slavery repeats again through Lucy. She claimed Katherine saved her life therefore she is indebted to her for however long she needs. Sheila has her hand in aiding the Gemini Coven, Beatrice helped with the Sirens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are other witches that are black who serve a purpose to aid in many and leave such as: Gloria, The Martin’s, Bree, Aja and her coven just to name a few. Friends of the main characters or enemies but quickly there and dropped. Originally due to all witches appearing Black fans believed they were all Bennett’s. Julie has no answer for why all witches that is until they weren’t. Remember witches were servants of nature. The Mikaelson’s popularity, Gemini Coven and other witches. Fills the space that Black witches were once in. Notice a pattern here?
Tumblr media
Qetsiyah’s plot line should’ve centered on how she created immortality, the cure, and the other side. But Qetsiyah’s existence revolves around demanding and enforcing continuous revenge on Silas and Amara. Tying her into another repeated love triangle in the franchise. May I add that she and Bonnie are the only women to have been betrayed by a partner and criticized for their reactions. There’s nothing wrong when a man wants and craves power but Qetsiyah is considered the worst of them all. Here’s an amazing video that details Qetsiyah’s writing too. Please review.
Tumblr media
Lastly, The Bonnie of it all:
Bonnie’s a loyal, powerful and brave woman. She doesn’t let anything happen to her friends if she can stop it. She cares for them. That kind of loyalty can be beautiful but equally harmful when Bonnie has no regard to her own feelings. She continues to give for everyone and her friends rarely return the favor. Bonnie’s never thanked or rewarded for being there. The friendships stop being equal very early. Her traumas aren’t valuable in the plot. We don’t know what Bonnie’s home looked like. If Bonnie does grieve it isn’t shown on screen. Her family life is limited, while Liz and Alaric aren’t main characters. They have their own plotlines. It is revealed that Abby’s reasonings for abandoning her is for Elena’s benefit. Abby is killed in a coin toss and transitioned. Caroline gets to have a good friend moment while Bonnie isn’t have any feelings towards her mother for abandoning her after. Rudy isn’t seen in the plot longterm and when he appears in season 5 he’s killed in front of Bonnie. She grieves this in silence while grieving her own death that she didn’t make aware to her friends to avoid inconveniencing them. The plot makes it clear if the white counterparts aren’t happy then Bonnie will never either. Elena, Caroline got happier endings while Bonnie’s job was completed. Bonnie never once got to call out how her friends can disregard her, she feeds into them and they grow while sucking the life out of her. In the end, Bonnie went back to Africa. Never any reference to her life from there.
Another thing Bonnie isn’t shown to be feminine. Her best friends go on dates, go to dances, dress up and receive compliments. Caroline or Elena has ever given Bonnie a compliment that aided in her beauty. We don’t know Bonnie’s ambitions or fears. But you are aware when Bonnie wants to save her best friend. Thoughts on Bonnie’s relationships and ships is for the next meta though.
White witches did follow the servitude of others. They were still given the privilege of agency that black witches were never going to have. Witches like Dahlia existed, and although she had one goal she had more personality than others.
Tumblr media
When you have people like the TVD writers that continue to push harmful stereotypes there’s always going to fans who listen and continue to perpetuate those stereotypes. The writers had no value for Black women nor do the fans. They don’t care about how black women or people of color are treated in fiction or the media simply because their favorites get to reap all the benefits. That tweet is just one tip of the iceberg, there’s plenty more from Bonnie’s relationships, and storylines.
The same people who claim they can never like Bonnie due to how she was written loves:
Freya-the-family-sacrificial-witch
Davina-self-proclaimed-Mikaelson-hater but married into the family—girl who was born with blood on her hands from her coven
Lizzie Saltzman-if-Caroline-was-mixed into Bonnie
Josie Saltzman-the selfless witch
Hope the all mighty tribrid whose a martyr and lost + abandoned by her family…
The Gemini coven-
And all of these are variants of Bonnie…
WHAT RAVENSONG IS ABOUT
The Bennett family has a secret: They're not just a family, they’re a pack.
Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves. It should have been enough. And it was, until the events of Wolfsong.
Now, a year later, Gordo is again the witch of the Bennett pack, and constantly struggling to ignore Mark Bennett and the song that howls between them. But time is running out. Something is coming. This time, it crawls from within. Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken.
Love…
Love is a dangerous game.
Love is a fickle thing.
Love is unpredictable.
Love is merciless.
Love can be both feared and desired.
Love can make a woman do such awful things.
Love can drive a woman mad.
It drove me mad. It made me do awful things. It made people scared and it made people excited. It made me merciless, unpredictable and dangerous but my love was never fickle and it never will be.
Not when it came down to Niklaus Mikaelson.
______________________________________________________________
It started off way before he arrived in town.
I grew up in Mystic Falls, one of the only witches in town alongside the Bennett family. When I was little, Sheila Bennet-Grams would always offer to babysit me from my mother. When I would play there with Bonnie my emotions would always get the better of me, objects would begin to float or catch fire. Grams would always pick me up and calm me down while telling me how powerful I would become.
She never mentioned magic to Bonnie, and I promised not to either even though we were so close. However my magic was something I had always been aware of and Grams said that finding control over it would be better than pretending it didn't exist.
Once I got a little older, she began to teach me things on other supernaturals. Starting with the Lockwood heritage and the basics of werewolves and then we went deeper, to Eenadu and how/why she created the species. Then a while later it was vampires. The basics first again and then the Originals, and Esther.
That was when I first heard of him; Klaus.
Grams spoke his name with such distaste but it stirred something inside me. She only told me the bast things, put a sinister spin on everything about them. So I had to do some digging myself.
He was just so damaged.
He was so broken, but so fixable.
He was just so loveable.
I knew he needed the doppelgänger so I convinced Bonnie that we should befriend Elena.
I knew he needed a werewolf so i befriended Matt through Elena which lead to befriending Tyler.
I knew he needed a vampire too but I didn't need to worry about that. I was certain that Katerina Petrova, Katherine Pierce, would pay the town a visit and death would follow her like the plague. She would either be my vampire or make me a vampire that I could give to Klaus.
And she did, just as predicted. So when I was sure that she had done everything for me: triggered Tylers 'curse', turned Caroline and collected the moonstone, I made my move in form of a letter.
It had taken a damn long time to find him. He moves, a lot. However, I too had made contacts over the last few years with other witches across the states and was able to pinpoint him.
And reach out.
..............................................................................................................................
Dear Niklaus Mikaelson,
We have yet to meet though I am certain that when we do you will be pleased. Come to where it all began for I have an opportunity for you to seize.
..........................................................................
It was simple but still cryptic enough to grab his attention. I sent it to him with my magic and patiently waited.
And planned.
Klaus would definitely want to create more hybrids. Which meant some sort of trip as soon as the ritual was over and his wolf was free. I also knew that he and Stefan were friends in the 1920s, courtesy of Gloria who was a witch I had met and remained in contact with who was also in communication with Klaus and helped me find the man.
So I was betting that he would find a way to take Stefan with him to find his hybrids and bring the ripper out of him, which would not be difficult. I remember when he had gone a little mad for human blood earlier in the year. It wouldn't take a lot to push him back over that line.
Now was a nervous when Katherine went missing which meant klaus was in town? Yes. But I was much more excited.
I could feel myself literally buzzing when I stepped into the Salvatore manor house, I could feel the magic rolling off of Alaric! I sat between him and Damon and I could feel my skin burning. Damon kept putting his hand on my knee to stop my legs bouncing, asked if I was on drugs a couple times too but didn't suspect too much. I hadn't revealed to everyone the amount I knew. Though Elijah knew that I was much more than I let on but I kinda wanted him to know.
Of course everyone knew I was a witch but they assumed I was an amateur, Bonnie knew I was better than I made out to be but still didn't know the extents of what I was now capable of. When you've been practicing magic since you were a small child your power ages with you, I knew that I'd only grow stronger. And so far I have.
I just hoped that he couldn't feel my magic as well as I could feel his. That was a silly thought. I knew that he couldn't, I had a spell to mask it.
Time went fast, one second I was sat next to him and the next he was walking out the door and Damon was asking what was wrong with me today. I got out of it and went home to my planning board.
I wondered how long it would take for him to know that it was I who sent him the letter. I wondered how he would react. I also wondered how he would be if I sent him another.
..............................................................................................................................
Dear Niklaus Mikaelson,
I see that you have arrived though not as I may have expected, Either way I hope you appreciate the ingredients that I have collected.
..............................................................................................................................
I sent it via my magic again, I knew that it would lay waiting for him when he returned from the decade dance. It meant I was far too excited the entire time. Though I did my best to keep my mouth shut around Alaric Klaus himself.
Even when he revealed his true identity I had to bite back my smile, instead I allowed him to pin me, toss me and harm me until he though he'd won. I couldn't reveal my powers, the truth behind my innocent mask. I needed him to think I was weak but still interesting enough.
Bonnie ended up 'sacrificing' herself. To be completely honest it made me mad. Of all the people he could have hurt he had to choose her. I wouldn't have cared if it was any one else but Bonnie was the only true friend I had made, she wasn't here for me to use or bargain with. I liked her and felt my skin burn with rage.
So I made a little spell to cause Klaus an extensive amount of pain .
I got over it of course but I needed him to understand my feelings. It's the only way we could work.
I was pissed off that he hadn't used my chosen ingredients. Damon saved Tyler and Caroline and Bonnie was saving Elena.
Still, I watched his ritual anyway from a distance, my eyes lighting up as I watched his bones snap and his wolf rush to the front of his mind. Elijah's eyes locked on mine for a split second, a slight nod from us both before he took his brother to a place in the woods.
After that I had to babysit Damon while he whined and shook in pain. When his fevers got too bad I would place a cooling spell over his body and transfer some of his pain to myself. Despite not being Damons biggest fan, he was the one I got along most with out of the little group that had formed. He had a sense of humour and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Damon was no liar like most of the others and I admired that. Still, I did not trust him exactly but I didn't mind his company.
Eventually Katerina arrived, she did not look eager to see me however she delivered the cure as expected and revealed what I had assumed. Klaus had taken Stefan.
Unfortunately for Klaus, since finding him the first time, I was able to play a tracking spell on his soul. If I closed my eyes and chanted the right words I was able to find exactly where he was in the moment I did so. Which meant he received more letters.
They were always short and suggestive, never revealing quite how much I knew but just hinting at it. I knew it would annoy him, he would see it as child’s play but that's what made it all so amusing when I would whisper my spells and watch his jaw clench as he attempted to tear up the paper only for it to magically bind back together in mockery of his frustration.
It was when he arrived in Chicago that Gloria had me on the phone.
"I warn you child, he's been asking me to find out who's sending the notes. I wouldn't ever tell on you dear but you know how he becomes. Don't play with fire unless you plan to get burnt" she told me, her tone worried
"Thank you Gloria but you've always known I enjoy the burn. Even if he knows, I can contain him. I've been preparing." I murmur, as my fingers trace over the sketch of the cage I plan to create for him should it ever be necessary.
"Do be careful" she whispered, "They don't call him a beast for fun"
"I know" I hum "It's going to be wonderful" I stated, my mind picturng those golden eyes of his.
Gloria had to hang up when she heard Rebekah's voice nearing but messaged me an update later that day. Unfortunately I felt as her life was taken, by Katerina of all people though I couldn't be too surprised. Her obsession with Stefan never failed to shine through.
Not that I could judge.
Plus it worked in my favour. Klaus came back home.
I got to see him and senior prank night, he even grabbed my wrist. I asked if he just wanted to hold my hand which made him smirk and made my lower stomach implode.
He did in fact hold my hand.
Sure it was while he dragged me down a corridor but he held it all the same.
Then he started killing people and turned Tyler which made me happy. At least my werewolf was useful after all.
Eventually I got back home and went to bed, with Klaus still on my mind of course.
Things got much more interesting from then onward. Klaus was in town much more and always getting in everyones business. I both enjoyed it and loathed it.
It was lovely because it meant I got to talk to him, and because I knew so much about him already I was able to keep him entertained and talkative. Especially when it came to art. I had to research so many artists so that I could engage him in conversation for long periods of time. I convinced the others that it was to distract him while they did their stupid little plans but it was really just for me.
I still sent my letters but I was confident that he didn't know it was me. Somehow I had made him believe that I was brand knew to magic and practically hopeless which he apparently found 'cute'. Whether he meant it or not it still made me blush.
After a few months I had the cage made. It was doused in magic to ensure he couldn't ever escape and I had put in a bookshelf with books I knew he would enjoy as well as a sketch pad and an array of crayons. Pencils were a little risky as they had a point but I put in some blunt charcoal. I had vervain growing beside the cage and wolvebane on my bedroom windowsill. The cage was set up in my basement.
My mother never went down there, she still thinks it's all horiible down their. She also doesn't really practise magic anymore so she's basically a human and oblivious to my supernatural involvment.
Thanks to her unawareness I was able to go about things without even being that discreet. Even if she had picked up on it, she made no effort to intervene.
So I continued to indulge in my obsession.
It was mostly harmless, though my letters progressively became love letters. It was entertaining to watch his brows rise as he read the suggestive words, often now his fingers would trace over the lipstick print I had left in the bottom right corner. Occasionally I would wear the same shade around him, just to test my limits. Sometimes I would spray the paper with my perfume before sending it too.
Soon I began sending other things too, like a rose alongside the letter or a sugary beignet that I had made myself. Sometimes they would contain propofol or something similar. This, with a high enough dosage, would knock even the original hybrid out long enough for me to go on over. I would often sit down beside him on his bed, usually my fingers would stroke through his sweet curls and I would press a kiss to his cheek. Almost always leaving the same mark as I did on those letters and taking pride in the confusion that painted his gorgeous face when he would see it in the morning and wash off my mark.
There were a couple close calls where I had assumed him to be passed out only to find him waiting in his bed, then I would have to be more forceful with putting him to sleep. Often magic was involved and I would lay with him, stroking the area I had struck him with my power to soothe the sting away.
Since then I had noticed his glances over his shoulders as he walked and the way his fingers would nervously tap against his scotch glass. I couldn't deny the pleasant feeling that buzzed through me at the knowledge that I made him nervous, borderline afraid. He even went so far as to have one of his hybrids stand guard outside of his room when he slept. So I had to climb up through his window. It was a hassle really but it got easier each time I did so.
I found myself in his room pretty much every single night. Something about how he was when he slept was so peaceful and innocent that I couldn't help but crave it. It soothed something within me.
What was even better than watching him while he slept?
Finding a painting in his art room...of me!
It was beautifully done and looked just like a photo. If i hadn't touched it to feel the layers of paint then I wouldn't have known he created it. A true, genuine smile graced my lips when I held it and I couldn't help but go through all his sketch pads to find more.
My next love letter hinted toward the art but I think that he was beginning to over think the notes at this point. They were driving him a little mad.
I considered leaving him alone for a little while but then he started getting into trouble. Too much trouble. The kind that got him hurt and stabbed by white oak. The kind that had him ready to leave Mystic Falls.
So I had to start eliminating threats toward him.
I went as far as hospitalising Elena, making it look like natural causes so that the others would have to leave Klaus alone for a while.
I befriended Rebekah, started learning things about Klaus's childhood, the little things that meant so much to him. So I went home and hand carved him a wooden wolf and left it on top my letter.
Slowly, I think he began to have suspicions. Sometimes I catch him watching me with a very calculative look in his eye though he would break into a nervous smile and look away, often walking out the room entirely. I didn't like that.
He tried to distance himself but I wouldn't let him. I thought it was clear that he was mine by now. If he had figured it out then he should be happy and relaxed knowing that it's me, not tense and worried. What did he think I would do, really?
Didn't matter. Time went on.
Thanksgiving came and went, Christmas and then New Year. I always sent and received a present. The Mikaelsons actually threw a Christmas ball which I of course attended and I was able to bag multiiple dances with Klaus. I also danced with Elijah, he directly asked me if I was the one messing with his brothers head, we were whispering and I made a little spell so Klaus couldn't eavesdrop. I confirmed it without actually admitting it and made some little threats for if he should try to stop anything, after I left for home.
I continued with my visits, my growing friendships and my gifts. And then valentines day came around.
I had been contemplating whether I treat it any differently to every other day. I never had before however this time I had somebody to think of, somebody I loved.
So when I woke up, I decided that perhaps I'd at least go see Klaus today.
What I had not expected was a large bouquet of roses, bunched into the shape of a heart set on my dining room table with a typed note attached.
..............................................................................................................................
Dearest Y/N, I don't usually engage in human holidays however you've recently changed my perspective. I hope you don't think I've been oblivious to your advances, I'll admit they've been affective. Love Niklaus
..............................................................................................................................
The note made me smile. The rhyming scheme matched all my letters and this was all the confirmation I needed that he had accepted my feelings.
So I got dressed into a dress, the same deep red as the flowers he had gifted me with the eyeshadow and lipstick to match. I drove myself to his home and this time knocked on the door.
Klaus must have been waiting for he opened it as soon as my knuckles hit the wood and he was dressed to perfection. His blood red tie matched my dress as though he just knew and his hand held out for mine without a word being said. I nodded to him and held his hand, enjoying the way it caused my magic to ignite inside me.
I was lead inside to the area which was usually primarily empty and used for parties and events however it was down littered with rose petals. Fairy lights and candles lit the room and a little square table rest in the centre of the room covered by a white table cloth with two golden plates hidden by gold plate covers sat waiting to be revealed.
"Oh wow" I whispered quietly. This was most definitely not something I had thought of occurring. I heard Klaus clear his throat a little as he hesitantly slipped his hand round my waist causing my tummy to flutter pleasantly before he kept leading me over to the table. He proceeded to pull out my hair, waiting for me to sit and then carefully pushing me closer to the table before sitting opposite me.
"I do hope you'll enjoy the food though if you don't I can be sure to get you something else-" His voice began to speed up, I could see his nerves playing.
"That won't be necessary, I'll have what I'm given and I'll enjoy it" I state simply with a reassuring smile. He returned it and nodded quietly to himself as he lifted the cover off of his play and I did the same. Underneath was a beautifully cooked slice of beef wellington with potatoes and a few vegetables alongside and a sauce to go with.
"I was going to do starters as well but I didn't want you too be too full as I have more for us to eat later" he explained quietly.
"Later?" I question with the slight tilt of my head and he smiled.
"We have a lot to talk about" He answered and I hummed, lifting the wine glass to my lips and allowing the rich taste to please my tongue. I licked my lips clean, watching as his eyes followed my tongues movements as he sat a little straighter. "However," he began, clearing his throat again making a slither of amusement make its way to my face. "For the moment, I just want to have a valentines dinner with you, my questions will wait for after." He decided and I nod, happy with his arrangement.
"Very well" I agreed as I cut into my steak and pastry and popped a piece into my mouth, moaning at the flavour and locking my eyes onto his. His adams apple bobbed and his eyes darted to his plate making me grin.
Dinner was mostly small talk, a few flirty comments through desert before he took our empty plates out to the kitchen. I got up from my seat to follow him but he shook his head and asked that I stay while he cleaned. I agreed without resistance, if he wanted to do the dishes then I wouldn't object.
He was back in just a minute and holding his hand out for me to take again, which I did. Then I was brought upstairs which made me raise a brow, "Already huh?" I ask teasingly.
He glanced over his shoulder at me with a knowing look "Don't act like you don't spend nearly every night in my room" he replied making my eyes roll playfully.
He pulled me into his room and closed the door behind me. On the bed lay every single letter I had written him, I clicked my tongue as I looked over the generous pile and slowly glanced up at his face. His arms were folded over his chest and he had that look in his eyes that just told be to begin.
I smiled up at him and let out a little laugh "Right..." I muttered, "Well..., okay, can we sit for this?" I asked and he hummed, gesturing two chairs that we went to.
And then I started talking. A lot.
I went from the start, Grams. There was no point lying to the man, so I just laid it all out bare for him. From the first time I heard his name to the first time I was able to see his face to the first time we actually met, to now. It took hours of explaining and answering questions for silence to actually come around.
His expressions changed throughout the discussion, sometimes he looked a little confused, sometimes he even looked a little afraid but for the most part he just looked intrigued. When I was done and his questions stopped flowing, he leaned back in his chair and looked up at the ceiling.
"You're crazy" He whispered and I felt my demeanour change, just as I went to snap his eyes went back to mine and a wide smile spread across his face. "You're so insane, I love it" he murmured before my face was in his hands and his lips were on mine.
I'll admit it took me by surprise so it took me a minute to react. Of course I kissed him back, would have been really dumb not to at this point.
His hands seemed to be everywhere all at once, every single nerve I owned stood on edge for him and my magic began to flow a little too fast than I was used to. Klaus pulled away, a chuckle leaving his lips making my eyes, which I didn't remember closing, open.
"You've set the curtains on fire sweetheart" he mumbled, stroking a few strands of hair behind my ear as I took a breathe and silently mended the curtains with my mind. A kiss was placed behind my ear and I breathed in deeply. "I can't believe you let me think you couldn't even light a candle when I met you" he muttered and he smiled.
"You let everyone think you were Alaric, so..." I trailed but he tutted.
"Ah, ah. Everyone except for you as it turns out so we are in no way even. You have been tormenting me, lying to me, watching me sleep..." he smirked and I rolled my eyes, "borderline assaulting me!" he exasperated and I dropped my head back with a sigh. His lips pressed to my neck in response and I hummed with a clenched jaw. "You do not like to be teased" he stated and my eyes flicked to him "I'm not mad" he told me but I didn't think he was anyway "your methods for my...affections have been questionable-"
"Well-" I interjected but he shook his head and kissed my lips again which was a seemingly affective way to keep me quiet but I liked it.
"But" he cut in "It has been incredibly sexy to watch you pull an unbelievable amount of power moves under everyone's noses, including my own. I look forward to seeing how many more moves you have" he whispered, his voice becoming progressively lower.
My gaze fixed on him, my eyes narrowed a little. Was he saying what he wanted to say or what I wanted to hear?
His hands slid down my sides to the backs of my thighs before he lifted me onto his lap, having me straddle him in his chair and causing my dress to ride up. My hands held onto his upper arms lightly, he looked back at me with the same calculative look I'm sure I was wearing. His head tilted to the side making my lips twitch, he looked cute like a confused pet.
"I don't take well to being played with" I tell him and he frowned.
"I'm not playing" he replied, his hand caressing my thigh in a way that made an unfamiliar warmth spread through me and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. For some reason I had mapped out a plan for every scenario except for one where he actually showed the interest I wanted from him. "I wouldn't toy with you Y/n. Should I have wanted to harm you I would have just done so"
"You don't think I'm a threat?" I question and he furrowed his brows
"Do you want me to see you as a threat?" He asked confused and I hesitated, did I?
"Maybe?" I whispered, unsure and he huffed softly.
"You have been dancing around me for almost a year now, don’t you think it’s time we both give in?” He murmured and I stared at him. Slowly his hands brushed higher up my thighs and he pulled me closer on his lap making my heart pound. “Will you let yourself give in to me?” He asked as his fingertips grazed the thin material of my panties. “No more stalking or knocking me out…just be with me, you can sleep beside me…with me and I’ll give you everything you could ever want”
I hummed quietly and clenched my jaw as I felt and heard the elastic in my panties snap. His hand pulled the fabric away from my body and tucked them into his pocket as his eyes locked on mine. I shifted a little on his lap, my thigh clenching around him as I felt my pussy flutter against the erection that was pushing against his suit trousers.
“You have no idea how hard it was to figure out who you were” he muttered as he pushed my hips back and forth in a slow motion. I could feel my skin heating up as my sensitive flesh rubbed over his pants. “You drove me mad” he whispered, his lips brushing against the shell of my ear making a warm shiver slide down my spine.
A breathy moan fell from my lips as I felt his hips grind up against my bare pussy. “Do you remember that letter you wrote, you were practically begging me to fuck you” he reminded making my eyes shut, my lips parting as I moved my hips with his to receive the perfect amount of friction against my clit. “Do you know how many faceless dreams I’ve had of you? I had to guess what your pretty moans would sound like, how tight your cunt was, I need to see if my imagination was accurate” He practically purred against my neck.
I kept grinding myself on his crotch, panting softly to try catch my breath and my thoughts and his hands cupped my ass firmly. They brushed across the tops of my thighs before a finger was rubbing my clit making my hips thrust up and a moan to escape me.
My hands curled into his jacket, I always had the control in situations. I needed the power and the control yet I couldn’t even think about taking it right now. I just needed to chase that feeling.
I couldn’t help the choked sound that left me when a finger plunged its way inside of me. At this point my hips were rutting against his hand, my pussy surely dripping onto his pants but I couldn’t stop myself.
“Happy Valentine’s Day sweetheart” his voice cooed against my ear and I moaned aloud. Kisses burned into the top of my neck and base of my jaw, “I’m gonna fuck you against all of your little love letters” he mumbled and I cried out his name weakly.
Another finger stretched me open with my clit was rubbed ferociously making my hips stutter and thighs tremble with need.
His mouth captured mine as I felt my resistance snap. My body shook and my head felt light as my lips pushed against his with force. After he pulled back and let me catch my breath he lifted me up and dropped me onto his bed amongst all the notes I’d left him in the past.
His body knelt between my legs and his face hovered over mine as he brushed his nose against mine.
I think it was that moment that I knew:
Love would destroy us both.
Mystic Falls - Klaus’s pov
Walking into the main office I locked the door behind me not wanting anyone to bother me. Slumping down in the chair I ran my fingers through my blonde curls sighing heavily. "Urgh…what is wrong with my head?" I groaned, feeling some discomfort in my temple.
Closing my eyes I reached for my phone about to call Raelyn until pain shot through the middle of my head. Shutting my eyes tightly I winced seeing the girl with auburn hair flash through my mind. “You’re going to be the greatest witch this world has ever seen.”
A young auburn haired girl smiled up at me. “ You think so? Having all that power scares me.
I nodded, grabbing my daughter’s hands with mine. “You are the daughter of Klaus Mikealson and nothing will scare you."
"Mommy, can we go play in the fort?" Alina, my second daughter asked me. Missy, my youngest daughter, followed closely behind her mother.
I turned around and embraced my other girls. “ Of course, girls."
"At first I just thought that having one child would be enough. But having three was a miracle." Raelyn made her way over to me taking my hand watching them go play off in the distance.
Glancing down at my wife I nodded. "I’ve missed out so much. I intended to make up for lost time."
"And you will, Klaus. You don't have to worry." She responded to me.
Dropping my shoulders the auburn haired girl named Hope ran toward me tugging me in the direction of the other girls. "Daddy, come play with us!"
"Be nice to your father, baby girl." Raelyn laughed when she watched the hybrid get dragged by the arm of the young Mikealson.
Rubbing my temple I groaned, blinking through tears having it all come back into my memory. Wiping away tears with my sleeve I heard someone knock on the door before it got blown open revealing Alina and Missy who just walked right inside without warning. "Dad, Hope wants to know how we are getting mom back."
"Oh bloody hell. Can you girls give me a minute? I've got a splitting headache." I waved my hand, still feeling uneasy.
Missy gave me a weak smile. "Okay, dad. We can talk with the Squad and you can come when you're ready." The two girls left the room giving him the time he asked for. The hybrid put his face in his hands letting his mind wander with the pain in his head and the regret of not knowing in his heart.
Stepping into one of the compound studies I could hear Raelyn typing away on a computer where I lean against the doorway with my hands behind my back. 'What are you doing here?"
"Researching names for our little wolf." She lifted her head up away from the computer screen. "Come look, I started making a list."
Moving over to her side I rested my hands on the back of her chair. "Tucker, Maxon, Delgado. Arya, Alina, Melissa, Everly, Jenny…what a minute, Rae. There's more girl names here than boys. What are you getting at with this?"
"Yeah about that…I went to our OB doctor and she thinks it's a girl." She takes my hands in hers moving one over her growing stomach grinning ear to ear at me.
Bending down on a knee to be eye level with my wife I moved my freehand to her cheek. "A king, a queen and their little princess."
“Maybe it could be more than just one baby if we’re lucky.” Raelyn smirked at me leaning forward and kissed me gently.
Leaning forward I deepened the kiss using my vamp speed and switching our position so that I was sitting in her chair and she was on my lap. “Don’t tempt me, siphon queen. You know that if you said the word I won’t let you ever leave our bedroom.” I growled through the kiss feeling her fingers running through my blonde locks deepening the kiss.
Moving one hand up underneath her shirt she smirked against the kiss until she winced feeling some pain in her stomach. “Urgh! I guess the baby has other plans tonight. I hope we can have more than one kid though.”
“Let’s get you and our little one settled. We can think of more names tomorrow.” Staring at my beautiful wife I couldn’t get the thought of a certain name out of my mind after she had said it ‘Hope’ maybe just maybe that can be a cute name someday for our little one.
Bursting through the doors shut I entered the old Salvatore alcohol room seeing that the Super Squad were all standing around a table and then focused their attention on me. “Alright kiddos, tell me what exactly you have instored for getting my wife back because I refuse to let anything bad happen to her.”
“Hope said that you think that Raelyn literally jumped into Malivore. If that’s the case how exactly do we still remember who she is?” Kaleb asked, arms crossed over his chest.
Hope dropped her hands at her sides. "Most likely because of the spell Josie blasted everyone with earlier. And the fact that she is against nature being born a witch and then turned vampire with witch power."
"If Raelyn is in Malivore does that mean she'll be the next monster now?" MG questions nervously.
Whipping my head around to the young vampire I snarled. "Bloody hell no!"
"Dad, it could be possible though. Anything that has entered that pit becomes forced to do its bidding." Alina eyed her father with an uneasy expression.
Missy remains beside Lizzie who hadn't said anything. The siphoner witch was thinking about her sister who had been keeping herself in her room since Landon needed to think through his feelings on his former girlfriend he now remembers. "So on the off chance we have to fight mom what are we going to do?"
"That won't happen!" I raised my voice feeling my entire body stiffened at the very thought. I didn't care what it took but I refused to fight or kill my own wife just because a pit of gue says so. "Now stop thinking that is going to happen and let's think of ways to rescue my wife!"
Everyone turned their heads hearing the doors behind them open revealing someone he didn’t think he would be seeing after a while. “I’d suggest if you want an actual plan you shouldn’t be shouting at them. They are just teenagers after all, Niklaus.” Her orange blonde curls bounced until she stopped walking towards the group.
“Valerie Tull, the last time we saw each other was more pleasant but I am in no mood for your snarky comments at this moment so I suggest you leave before I make you.” I flashed my werewolf eyes at her.
She crossed her arms over her chest looking over her shoulder briefly. “I didn’t come alone, Mikaelson.”
Moving my eyes away from the heretic my gaze focused on none other than Bonnie Bennett who drew the Ascendent out from inside her jacket pocket holding it up to the group. “Raelyn gave this to Caroline just in case the monsters tried to take it. And since she is recruiting she entrusted it to me. And I have a bad feeling she’s with him.”
“Him. Who’s him?” Lizzie asked, looking confused.
Josie entered the room behind the other two powerful witches until she was by her sister’s side. “He’s our Uncle, Lizzie. His name is Kai Parker and he’s been through the Merge so he must have some answers.”
“So what brilliant plan have you and your witchy companions come up with hmm?” I dropped my arms at my sides feeling like we were wasting time instead of actually doing something.
Valerie vamped over to the nearby table snapping her fingers and creating some candles quickly lighting them. “Triplets come here. I need you to all put your blood in the middle of the circle. Since you share half of your mothers blood we should be able to find her location.”
“I think her twin brother's blood would be better.” Some of them jumped slightly seeing Jacob suddenly become invisible in the room. He shrugged his shoulders, cutting his palm with his fangs. “Hayley and Andrea are in New Orleans visiting Cami. I came as quickly as I could.”
Valerie nodded, placing her hand in Jacob’s beginning a spell to move the blood across the map. “Phesmatos quare infantatum. Phesmatos quare filios. Ado finet terraeum. Nunc temos rogamus. Combutis et sanguinem. Phesmatos quare infantatum. Finet terraeum. Nunc temos rogamus. Combutis et sanguinem. Phesmatos quare infantatum. Ado finet terraeum. Nunc temos rogamus. Combutis et sanguinem. Phesmatos quare filios.” The blood moved out of the town line and circled in Fort Valley Georgia.
Jacob spun around to his brother in law. “Now let’s go find my sister.”
Bonnie sat the Ascendent down on the table. “There’s supposed to be a full moon tonight. That’s our one shot to bring Raelyn back.” Klaus sent the witch a grin praying that she would come through for their family.
Raelyn’s pov - Prison World
Shuffling book after book I tossed them onto the wooden desk behind me. Throwing my hair around I had put it up in a messy bun that was falling apart almost by the speed I was moving. Kai hadn’t returned yet but I knew he would be back at some point so I needed to find a backup plan fast. “Reversal spells…is this the book that mom used on Jacob?” Flipping it over in my hands I scanned the cover then opened the page that was bookmarked. It reveals the spell that talked about trading someone else’s spirit for yours to take their place. Sitting the book down on the table I sighed feeling tears starting to fall remembering the night we lost my mother.
Vamping through the front door of the Boarding House I lied to Klaus saying I would grab some stuff from Stefan’s room for my brother to use until we bought him his own, but really I didn’t want to face my twin just yet after remembering what I had done. I couldn’t stop crying over what had just happened. Klaus was busy letting my brother who had just come back from the dead get reunited with our parents leaving me alone for a little bit. “I can’t believe it’s come to this. I guess it’s time to see what all the fuss is about with him and Bourbon.” Opening the glass alcohol cabinet I pulled out a bottle about to open it.
“I wouldn’t have taken you to be a Bourbon drinking girl, siphon witch.” Whipping my head around I almost dropped the bottle hearing Damon’s voice and seeing him now standing behind the long couch in the middle of the room.
Blinking my eyes at the raven haired vampire. “Uh yeah sorry…after the day I’ve had I needed this. Hope you won’t mind one bottle less.”
“Not unless you don’t mind sharing some of it.” He plopped down on the couch waiting for me. He opened the bottle, pouring us each a glass and handing me one. “So what made you need to raid my alcohol collection in the middle of the night when you live in big Mikaelson Manner?”
Slowly sipping from my glass I made a disgusting face at the bitter taste but drank the drink regardless. “I just….today I had to lose my mother to bring my brother back to life. And it’s just eating away at me.”
“The soul crushing reality of the humanity switch.” Damon mumbles, taking a long sip from his glass.
Slamming my glass down on the table his blue orbs focused on me surprised at my actions. Throwing my head around I felt more tears staining my face wishing that it would get easier at some point of my now immortal life. “How do you get through all the things you did when you couldn’t feel anything? How do you move past all the emotions screaming at you and don’t say through alcohol or I will slam you into the fireplace like I did Klaus at the bar.”
“Touchy Rae Rae.” He shakes his head at me, tapping his fingers on the glass in thought briefly. “Well I would say for you…you just have to live life and fight like hell to ensure that you don’t make your mother happy. That you just keep being the person they always thought you were…just keep being your fiery spirit Raelyn.”
“Thank you, Damon. I know she just wants me to be happy and to protect my family.” Raising my glass up from the table I clinked mine with Damon’s who sent me a smirk in return before we downed the majority of the bottle that evening.
I shut the book in a rush baring my teeth causing the candle beside me to burst into flames. Whipping my head upright I heard someone start cackling in laughter. “I never thought reading those old books would make someone cry. It’s a little pathetic seeing the fiery heretic cry.”
“Shut up, Kai!” I growled feeling the veins under my eyes begin appearing.
He put his hands behind his back eyeing the mess of books I have scattered around me. "So I'm assuming you haven't found any access to the blood we need. Man am I the only one who truly wants to get out of here?"
"You're never getting out of here, psycho!" I growled, pressing my hands on the table feeling a fire burning in me.
Kai vamped forward grabbing me by my throat shoving me against the bookshelf behind me. I gasped at the impact even though we didn’t technically need to breathe anymore. He raised his other hand up and I winced shapely. “"Phasmatos navaro pulsus sanguinox…”
“Urgh Kai!” I struggled under his grip managing to grip onto one of his arms, siphoning from him even though it wasn’t necessary. But I remembered the blood spell that he was boiling my blood with now. “Phasmatos navaro pulsus sanguinox, Reboundus!"
My cousin released me grabbing his arms allowing me the chance to vamp away from him and out into the woods. As far as I could tell I was almost to the mansion. Running my fingers through my hair I released a breath feeling my heart somewhat beating in my chest. "Argh shit - let me go Kai!" I screamed feeling someone wrap their arms around my waist.
Yet the voice that whispered in my ear and covered my mouth with their freehand made me relax. "Rae, Raelyn. Calm down, it's okay. You're okay."
