Things I adore about the character of Ben Linus

He gets two ‘man behind the curtain’ reveals: 1. that he not only isn’t an innocent balloon pilot but actually the evil leader of the Others. And 2. that him as evil leader of the Others is only a persona and he really is a traumatised peon to an indifferent Demi-god and he really just wants to be useful and a good dad.

He is redeemed through the power of friendship like a Saturday morning cartoon villain, but it actually works with the narrative.

He’s so goddamn loyal (see: dad issues) but Jacob and MIB!Locke only see him as a weapon, while people like Hurley and Sun who actually care about people try and reach out to him and it’s what ultimately heals him.

He’s not really socially awkward as when he lets his walls down he is very emotionally aware and happy to chat (if introverted). But when he’s around new people he’s suddenly that shy 12 year old again unsure of who to trust because of the ✨ trauma ✨

(a meta fact) Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn are still close friends and meet up on a regular basis to hang out. Must be surreal to see John Locke and Ben Linus in the wild having lunch in a random cafe, chatting.

This took foreverrrrr (I finished the show months ago LOL) BUT I'm happy with how it turned out! It was partly to practice likenesses, partly to show my love for Lost. It's a controversial show to say the least, but I enjoyed it - it was a hell of a ride!

i like them making ben and hurley besties in the end. because thats why we know that ben's continued existence won't be a problem. like, it's safe now, he's with hurley. and hurley emits goodness radiation that makes everybody around him a better person
