Did my (at least) 5th replay of The Beginner's Guide. This game always punches me in the heart, and always finds new ways to do it every time! Somehow it never loses it's potency in it's story or characters, and it's so impressive how much of an impact it can leave in less than 90 minutes. If you know me, you know how much I love this game. Go buy it and play it, it's worth every penny and more!

Life is inordinately precious, unlikely and beautiful. You are exquisite. When you say – as you do, 20 times a day – “I’m fine”, realise that you don’t just mean “I’m adequate”. You are FINE. Refined. Unique. Finely crafted; fine dining; fine china! You really are fine in that sense too. We say it all the time, but unknowingly we speak the truth.

Reasons why I think every witch/pagan should have a familiar spirit
There’s so many animal spirits out there that would love a human companion 🐺(coming from an animal spirit worker)!!! They are eager to help out practitioners in exchange for knowledge about their species.
You learn so much about an animal and its importance in the real ecological world 🌎 when you have a familiar spirit. You’re spreading your love and raising awareness for our ecosystems.
They’re multi-belief friendly! ☮️ You don’t need to be religious to believe in spirits or energy. They don’t belong to one particular religion. Spirits are an open practice, especially spirit guides!
Familiars can help you with so many things across a broad range of practices 🔮 - protection, aide in spells, a teacher, etc. They truly have so much to offer in the realm of witchcraft.
They’re completely unique to you as the practitioner 🐈‍⬛ - you are the only person/human the animal spirit is working with. They’re on-call and always there when you need them. Their loyalty is outstanding, they won’t leave your side as long as you don’t leave theirs.
They can help to protect your pets and creatures already in your life! 🦮 For instance, my familiars protect my service dog.
They’re beginner friendly 🌸, and can teach you a lot about spirit work in a safe way!
For those doing deity work, they can help to deliver messages from your deities 🏛️ in a clear way!
Having a trustworthy spirit companion is one of the most helpful tools you can gain 🧙‍♀️when exploring the realm of the astral as well as in any practice that requires clair-anything.
Seriously, who doesn’t want a friendly animal spirit companion? 🦝I can’t imagine any downside, and they really help you to learn about the natural world from a different perspective 🫶🏻

Top Recommendations for Norse Pagans that aren’t Problematic.
There is a lot of books by people who are racist and part of far right side of Heathenry and I’m going to try my best and list the books I have that helped me on my path that isn’t problematic and have questionable intentions. Books and YouTube channels.
Anglo Saxon Socerery and Magic by Alaric Albertson. He is very knowledgeable in his work and path especially on runes which includes the rune poem to make your own interpretation and witchcraft side of things. He even talks about the Elves which I appreciate because not a lot of Norse authors talk about them. It’s more Germanic than Norse but I can’t see any problem adopting certain aspects since they are very similar. I will say he does take himself a bit serious at times but his information is so good and worthwhile. I have not read his first book on Travels through middle earth but it focus on more the pagan side.
Poetic Edda and Prose Edda: it’s what every Norse pagan needs. It’s the foundation of Norse paganism not bibles but myths and tales that can help along our journey. There is tons of translations, but my favorites are Dr. Jackson Crawford Poetic Edda and Anthony Fawkes Prose Edda. But look into other sagas as well like Volsung which Dr Jackson Crawford also wrote about.
Beowulf. More of a Germanic tale but again includes it has roots of Germanic sorcery, traditions, religion like the concept of Wyrd (Fate), the runes, and values within his society like loyalty and mythical creatures. Again there is many translations even Jrr Tolkien did a incompleted version of Beowulf but I think Tom Shippey finished that version I could be wrong. Nonetheless explore more than one, the oneI have is by Seamus Heaney.
Grimm Fairy Tales this mostly German Folklore but it’s still quite important to learn about in German folk magic, creatures and entities in German folklore tends to be very real to the practitioner in their spellwork.
The Way of Fire and Ice by Ryan Smith a very progressive outlook in Norse paganism, he talks about creating communities in Norse paganism and calling out and denouncing Nazis in the community how Norse Paganism is inclusive and how to be open to all types of people. But he has a beginner approach to the deities, beliefs, values within Norse paganism.
Look into a lot of academic sources that’s where you will find a lot of information on Norse paganism and religions.
Tacitus Germania - A Roman historian talking about the Germanic tribes their culture and customs.
Saxo Grammaticus history of the Danes
The Viking Way by Neil Price it goes good in depths about magic in Scandinavia like Seidh
Dictionary of Norse Mythology a quick guide to northern myths, if you are trying to find a specific god and you don’t have time to look up in a book it’s in there with great information to each one.
Children of Ask and Elm: History of Vikings by Neil Price on Scandinavian culture during the Viking age
Some YouTube Channels
The Norse Witch: Bente lives in Germany and their channel encompasses all of Norse paganism more around magic. They do interviews with other Norse witches of folk magic like Icelandic and Danish. Even gives good book recommendations and advice on general spellwork as well!
Freyja Norling: Freyja actually lives in Norway and is a Volva, she focus on so many things within Norse paganism like Trolls, the runes, the gods, knot magic, etc. I love her channel because she actually lives in Norway and very experienced in her work.
Dr Jackson Crawford he is an author but he also has a YouTube channel. He was a professor in Colorado on Norse culture, mythology, and language and now is a full time YouTuber. He did a series of videos on the runes which are more historically accurate. Discusses the myths and the language and what do they mean. Jackson Crawford isn’t a Norse pagan nor he doesn’t care if you are one but just letting you know he isn’t coming from a pagan perspective.
The Welsh Viking also like Jackson Crawford but still has really great knowledge on Viking culture.
De Spökenkyker who is a channel that focus on German Folk magic living in Germany who is a practicing German Folk Witch.
Please feel free to add on any recommendations that are helpful and useful to the Norse pagan Community!

Everyday Sissyfication
So you want to be a sissy, but you have no money and are not sure where to start? Well, we all have to start somewhere, and this is exactly where I started. I looked online for a how to guide, and every guide I found only talked about buying stuff. The truth is, if you want to be the best sissy you can be, you should be a sissy in every aspect of your life. I have come to the conclusion that maybe, the best place to start, is to look at yourself and ask how can you become more girly?
Everyday things can be made more girly if you know where you look. From sitting to use the bathroom, how you get in and out of the car, to your handwriting.
I am still a beginner, but I have found many of the ways I have changed to be more girly to have improved my life. For example, a good sissy should have girly hygiene habits, such as caring for your skin, hair, and nails. From a sissy perspective, this makes you more girly, as the routine I have built for myself is a girly routine. From an everyday perspective, this improves your life because you feel better when your body is cared for.
Another example is sleep. A good girl needs her beauty sleep. Before I started my journey, I was getting on average 2-4 hours of sleep a night. This is bad for your health, and not girly. As part of trying to change my life to be more girly, I have strived to get 8 hours of sleep on a regular schedule. This improves my mental awareness, my health, my skin, and i feel overall just better.
In the end, I strive to be the girliest, best sissy I can be. And I know it will change my life for the better. So I say take a look at yourself and ask, where can I improve today. How can I get closer to my goal? My goal is sissyfication, but this can be done with any goal in your life. Just set your mind to it, and work to accomplish that goal.
I am Evelyn, and I am a sissy.

hi! sorry to bother you, but i would like to get into pop culture paganism and am intimidated by all the.. everything people are talking about that i dont understand. do you have the most basic, "explain it like im four" crash course for learning PCP? [i feel the need to specify, i dont think im interested in being a witch at this time, i just have a pop culture deity id like to venerate] [i think thats the right word? worship? work with? idk]
thank you very much!
I'll happily help, anon.
WARNING! This post is a very, very basic introduction to Pop Culture Paganism, and I'm writing from my own perspective. There's no way I can cover everything. Please let me rest.
Let's start with some abbreviations:
PCM = Pop Culture Magic, the usage of elements of pop culture in one's magical or spiritual practice
PCP = Pop Culture Paganism, the usage of elements of pop culture (including but not limited to pop culture deities or characters-as-deities) in or as one's religious practice
PCD = Pop Culture Deity, an entity who is worshiped as or is a deity in their source material
PCE = Pop Culture Entity, any entity from a pop culture source (any PCD is a PCE, but not all PCEs are PCDs)
And some of my own definitions (yours may not be the same!):
Veneration/worship = including a figure in your religious practice
Work = creating an agreement with a figure in a magical or spiritual practice, which may or may not be religious in nature
Devotion = worshiping one deity above all others, that deity becoming your patron
All of these have been greatly simplified for ease of use in this guide.
PCP can be done in addition to or in place of other religions. Due to the nature of the phrase "paganism", a polytheist approach is implied but ultimately isn't necessary - there are plenty of pop culture pagans who only worship one PCD/PCE. I practice both PCP and """mainstream""" polytheism.
PCP can be done in addition to PCM, but the two can also be mutually exclusive. I, personally, practice both PCP and PCM.
The primary appeal of PCP is that it is deeply personal. Many people who engage in PCP find that starting their religious practice from the ground up, or in using familiar religious practices from their culture that they're used to, is a lot of fun. Others love the source material(s) that they're drawing from so much that practicing PCP is just a natural way to continue expressing their love for it. There are a thousand reasons to practice PCP.
Some of the """mainstream""" polytheism issues appear in PCP, too. Gatekeeping, cliques, the insistence that deities have to "choose" you...a lot of toxic ideas tend to show up, just because of how online spaces work nowadays.
"That's great, Jasper, but how do we actually do this?" I'm getting there, dear readers, I promise.
Decide your approach. What pop culture source are you drawing from? A video game? Music? A book series, or even a standalone book?
Outreach. Do you build an altar or shrine? Make an offering? Write a poem or invitation? Pray? Wait for the PCD/PCE to reach out first? Do you create them yourself?
Set expectations. What are you going to do? What do you expect? Do you want to communicate back and forth, or just pray and not expect a direct answer? Figure out what you want.
Continue developing. Your PCP practice will likely not remain the same as time goes on. Let it grow, and let yourself grow with it.
Hopefully this is a very beginner-friendly 101 style post! For further resources, please check out my Pop Culture Magic/Paganism Resources Masterpost.

ULTIMATE REALISTIC Sims 3 Roleplay Guide | Transform Your Slice of Life Gameplay! | Part 1
youtube
What is up my little MooMoo's, welcome back to my channel! If you are new, thanks for dropping by.
So I promised you all a slice-of-life roleplay guide, and here it is! This might be the single most important guide for my ultra-realism roleplaying series in The Sims 3. Traditional roleplaying in this game is a bit tricky, so you’ve got to get creative. With mods, you can maximize your roleplaying efforts with little to no labor.
And whenever you look up how to roleplay in the sims 3, you'll find yourself quickly being redirected to challenges, except when you come across my input.
I have so much planned to show and teach you all in this guide. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover, but I promise to make it simple and effortless. This guide is easy enough for beginners who’ve never roleplayed before, yet packed with fresh ideas and twists for veteran roleplayers.
I want you to think of roleplaying as a Sims 3 challenge, but not as strict or difficult. Everything I show you in this video are just suggestions, meant to inspire you and ignite your creativity. I want to excite you into playing this game differently and unlock the true potential of The Sims 3.
Unfortunately because there is so much ground to cover I am going to have to break this guide up into several parts.
There are in total 10 sections of this guide I want to be able to teach you, in today's guide we are going to be focusing on section 1: Basic Roleplaying: and things you need to understand about the game.
So, let's break down exactly what we're going to cover today:
Basic Roleplaying - Things you need to understand about the game.
Curating Your Sim's World - Setting the stage before you play them.
Personality Templates - Creating Sims you care about.
Style and Taste Bud Palettes - Refining your character's personality.
Hobbies and Routines - Enhancing your Sim's day-to-day lifestyle.
Vacations and Traveling - Adding excitement and variety.
Socializing Roleplay - Making your Sims’ interactions meaningful.
Mods for Day-to-Day Gameplay - Essential mods for realism.
Challenges and How to Transform Them - Keeping things interesting.
Storylines and Easy Ways to Put Them Together - Creating compelling narratives.
I care about your time, so we’re going to steamroll through all of these sections and videos together! Let’s dive right in and get started!
Basic Roleplaying
Remember when I said earlier that you need to have the right perspective to roleplay in this game? Most of you have been roleplaying to some extent even if you think you haven't.
Challenges are basically stricter roleplaying incentives. They give you a set of rules to follow in-game, where doing the opposite wouldn't make sense.
And this is the crux of roleplaying, essentially. It's about understanding the person you are playing as and what they would realistically do. It’s not just about completing goals, but about making choices that reflect your Sim’s personality, desires, and circumstances.
So, what exactly is roleplaying? At its core, roleplaying is acting out the life of a character you create. You’re not just controlling them like a puppet; you’re thinking and making decisions as if you are that character. It’s about stepping into their shoes and seeing the world through their eyes.
For example, if your Sim is an artist, you might decide that they spend their mornings painting in the park, meeting other creative Sims, and visiting art galleries for inspiration. On the other hand, if your Sim is a fitness enthusiast, they might start their day with a jog, followed by a healthy meal, and then head to the gym.
Roleplaying is about adding layers to your Sim's story. It's not just about what they do, but why they do it. Every decision should reflect their personality and circumstances. If your Sim is shy, they might struggle with social interactions, but if they’re outgoing, they’ll thrive at parties and gatherings.
This perspective transforms the game from a series of tasks into a rich, immersive experience. You're not just playing The Sims; you're living a story. And the best part? It’s your story, crafted by your imagination and choices.
What actions do you find yourself doing more than anything else in the game? What action is it that you focus on the most?
Skills. Jobs. School. And motive maintenance. These are the actions you find yourself doing the most in your gameplay instead of creating memories and developing your story.
What if I told you that skills, jobs, high school, and elementary school are actually not as important in the game as you think? There is nothing in the game that requires you to master a skill. So why are you maxing out their skills?
You don't always have to become the leader of the free world, especially if it's not even a lifetime wish for your Sim. The only thing you need to pass school is to not have a consistent F. Your children and teens were going to graduate regardless.
There are hundreds of mods dedicated to rebalancing The Sims 3 motive decay that would allow you more time in your day playing as your Sim instead of just feeding them.
When you change the way you think The Sims 3 was meant to be played, you begin to see just how much fun you could really be having in this game. I'm only saying this as the kid who stressed out about getting a B in-game, not getting that promotion by the end of the day, and freaking out every time my Sim's hunger bar got halfway full.
We should be having fun, relaxed, and enjoying our Sims' actual lives. Once you remove this stress from the equation, you're left with a bunch of freed-up open time in your Sims' day. And now, you have to fill it with creative roleplaying scenarios.
But don't worry, I've already got you covered on that in sections 5-10.

If you already watched my lifespan and relativity guide, then you already saw me extensively go over this entire system. I realized very quickly how important a Sim's lifespan was to my roleplay. If the lifespan is too short, I don't have enough time in-game to care about my Sims, develop their stories, and complete pivotal moments in their character development. I used to turn their aging off, but in doing so, I missed out on the natural progressions of not just my active household but also everyone else.
A well-balanced lifespan is crucial for meaningful roleplay because it allows you to:
Build Deep Connections: With a longer lifespan, you have the time to truly get to know your Sims, form deep bonds, and invest in their personal stories. You'll witness them grow, change, and evolve over time, making their journeys feel more significant.
Develop Complex Storylines: Longer lifespans give you the freedom to create intricate story arcs. You can explore your Sims' lives in great detail, from their childhood dreams to their golden years, ensuring that no pivotal moment is rushed.
Experience Generational Play: Watching multiple generations of Sims grow up, interact, and leave their marks on the family legacy is one of the most rewarding aspects of the game. It brings a sense of continuity and history to your Sims' world.
Allow for Realistic Progression: A longer lifespan lets your Sims achieve their goals at a more natural pace. So that if the roleplay allows it, they can climb the career ladder, master skills, and pursue hobbies without the pressure of an imminent aging up.
Thank goodness I learned how to curate a mods list and create my own mods that addressed all of these issues. And thank goodness I shared it with all of you, so you don't have to do anything but install them and jump into the game.
Remember, a well-thought-out lifespan not only enhances your roleplaying experience but also enriches the entire game world, making every Sim's life story more impactful and memorable.
Questionnaires
Questionnaires are a great way to delve into the mind of your character, understand them inside and out, and effectively roleplay them in-game.
Think of this section as breathing life into your Sims' lungs. I personally find this portion to be fun while also gaining incredible insight into how my Sims think, act, and feel in-game.
This practice gives me so much confidence when roleplaying them. Without it, I find myself improvising without as much confidence, making certain interactions more awkward for me. I have to rewrite the interaction in my head, out of the game, to rectify it, when I could've just used this practice and character breakdown beforehand.
Why Use Questionnaires?
Character Depth: Questionnaires help you create multifaceted characters with rich backstories, motivations, and unique personalities. This depth makes your Sims feel more real and relatable.
Consistency in Roleplay: By understanding your Sims' traits, goals, and quirks, you can ensure consistent behavior and decision-making throughout their lives. This consistency enhances the realism and immersion of your gameplay.
Enhanced Storytelling: Detailed character profiles allow you to craft more compelling and believable stories. You'll have a clear sense of your Sims' desires and conflicts, making their journeys more engaging.
Improved Interaction: With a solid understanding of your Sims, you'll navigate social interactions more naturally. Knowing their preferences and relationships helps you respond authentically in various scenarios.
Reduced Improvisation Stress: Having a well-thought-out character profile minimizes the need for on-the-spot improvisation. You'll feel more prepared and confident, leading to smoother and more enjoyable gameplay.
How to Use the Questionnaires
Now, you don't always have to answer every question. You should aim to answer just enough questions in just enough categories to confidently roleplay your character in improv gameplay scenarios. Use the link below to the character question generator and begin breaking down your character. This practice not only enhances your roleplaying experience but also brings your Sims to life in ways you never imagined.
Remember, only answer enough questions where you get to know your sim inside and out. To enhance this further, consider their fashion style, and mini backstories behind their favorite food and color. Write this down somewhere where you keep a back up of your save file, so you can always reference it in the future if you get stuck on what they would do in a roleplay scenarios.
Link to Character Question Generator!
Conclusion
So here is where I feel is a good time to end the video, since I've given all of you a lot to think about. Let's quickly recap what we've covered so far:
Basic Roleplaying: We explored how to shift your perspective on gameplay, understanding that roleplaying involves making choices that align with your Sims' personalities and realistic behaviors.
LifeSpans: We discussed the importance of adjusting your Sims' lifespans to allow for more meaningful story development and character progression. I shared my mods and settings to make this process seamless.
Questionnaires: We delved into the practice of using questionnaires to breathe life into your Sims. This helps you understand your characters deeply, ensuring consistent and engaging roleplay.
Make sure to subscribe and hit that notification bell to become a part of the Milky Way Squad on your way out, so that you can be notified and come back for Part 2!
Thank you for watching and see you in the next video!

Beginner's Guide to Batman (and Batman-related) Media
(based on my knowledge and the things I enjoy)
Live action Batman movies are very hit or miss. Most of them are fairly middling, but the Dark Knight Trilogy is generally pretty bad. Poor Bruce characterization, white-washing, inaccurate representations of Gotham, etc. I have several thousand words written on that trilogy, and many more on live action movies in general (all of which are accessible thru my pinned post). The Batman (2022) is pretty widely regarded as being good and accurate. It has a much more emo depiction of Bruce. A major pet peeve of mine is that I, personally, don't think it's a very good Riddler, but everything else is good.
As for shows, those are generally less accurate but more enjoyable. Gotham is not technically canon I don't think but it has better aesthetics, canon accuracy, and character design than every live action movie imo. It starts with Bruce seeing his parents' murder and goes up until he first decides to become Batman. Gotham Knights is a much more AU-style show, detailing the death of Bruce and how his adopted son (invented for the show) handles it. It also has Stephanie, Harper and Cullen Row, and Duela Dent, plus great queer rep. Heavily recommended for people who want to know more about general character personalities or who enjoy AUs. Titans has Dick, Jason, and Tim, and while I personally don't think that they did well with the characterization of the other Titans, the Robins are well-done. If you want a good idea of Dick right after he became Nightwing, you want to see Jason as Robin, or you like Tim pre-Robin, this is the show for you.
As for animated shows, the usually widely loved ones are Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman: The Animated Series. B:TAS is largely accurate to the comics at that time, though it plays a little fast and loose with the Robins (goes straight from Dick to Tim). Plus, it's the first appearance of Harley Quinn! Additionally, I enjoy The Batman (2005), though it plays with the timeline a little and targets a younger audience. Batman Beyond is amazing if you want to get into the future of Batman/Terry McGinnis universe. The accompanying movie, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker covers Tim becoming Joker Jr.
Speaking of animated movies, there are a Lot. Standouts include the Batman Unlimited movies, which are some of the only ones to include Tim. They're very futuristic, so if you enjoy AUs or the science side of Batman, these are the ones. There are a lot of AU style ones, like Gotham by Gaslight (which I personally really love but don't think is anything particularly special outside of being interesting for characters), The Doom That Came to Gotham, and Batman Ninja. Batman Ninja isn't one of my favorites, but it is very good and has general good characterization. If you want to know more about how Barbara became Oracle but you don't want to read one of the most sexist comics ever, watching the Batman: The Killing Joke movie is a good way to do it. It frames the movie from Barbara's perspective and focuses on her story. If you want to know more about Damian, Son of Batman and Batman vs Robin are good. They detail him becoming Robin and his brush with the Court of Owls. Batman: Under the Red Hood is absolutely necessary viewing for anyone who likes Jason, as it details him coming back to life and becoming the Red Hood (along with having one of the all-time most depressing lines in-context ever).
When it comes to media that doesn't have Batman in it but is Batman-affiliated, Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn is a really good post-Joker pre-Ivy look at Harley, and it has Helena Bertinelli (Huntress), Dinah Lance (Black Canary), Detective Renee Montoya, and an AU-ized Cassandra Cain. The show Young Justice, particularly the first season, is a really good look at Robin!Dick in non-Bat teams, as is the animated Teen Titans. Both take slightly different routes when it comes to his personality, but both are equally good (especially if most of what you know about Robin!Dick is "holy dental hygiene, Batman!" or his vague backstory). They also both provide introductions into other team families, particularly Young Justice, so if you've just gotten into DC via Batman and want to know more about other characters, YJ is the way to go.
My personal idea of best piece of media for any character:
Bruce Wayne
Pre-Batman - Gotham
Batman: The Animated Series
Alfred Pennyworth
Batman: The Animated Series
Barbara Gordon
Batman: The Animated Series and The Killing Joke
Kate Kane
Batman: Bad Blood
Dick Grayson
As Robin - Young Justice
As Nightwing - the Son of Batman/Batman vs Robin/Batman: Bad Blood trilogy
Jason Todd
As Robin - Titans
As the Red Hood - Batman: Under the Red Hood
Tim Drake
As Robin - Batman: The Animated Series
As Red Robin - Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem/Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts
Stephanie Brown
Gotham Knights
Damian Wayne
Son of Batman/Batman vs Robin
Feel free to send an ask about a specific movie or show (or if you want a detailed list of everything a specific character has ever appeared in!) - I'm currently watching every Batman movie in existence and writing reviews literally so I can provide better recommendations to people (on part 41 rn). I will gladly provide more details about any movie or show. Also if you want to know more about specific media or what media a specific character has appeared in that is Bat-affiliated but is not a Bat, I probably have info! Anyone who's ever been a Titan, most Supers, most of the JLA, etc.
I can do another of these for comic recommendations if anyone wants bc I Do have opinions, I've just had some folks ask questions about specifically non-comic media recently!

Tutorial: How to Make a CAS Background With Functional Mirror
Overview
This is something that has been highly requested so I hope this tutorial will be helpful for the sims 4 cc community!
This tutorial will have 2 parts for creating 2 different types of CAS "room" backgrounds. Part 1 (The Easy Way) uses a template I created for you to use your own 2D images/screenshots with a simple rectangular mirror. Part 2 (The 3D Room) will result in a better quality background, but it’s not a beginner friendly project so I don’t recommend trying it if you’ve never made any cc before. I will not cover the basics of cc making here, only what’s relevant to making a CAS bg using my template specifically. The Sims 4 Studio forum has a ton of great tutorials for everything else.
In my own research & experimentation, I noticed that (as far as I can tell) EVERY other CAS room with a functional mirror seems to be derived originally from LittleDica's CAS room [link] I want to acknowledge credit to LittleDica for their CAS background which I studied as a reference. But to be clear this tutorial and my templates are NOT derived from another creators' work; I created mine from scratch and it took a lot of time and effort. My version is much more simple and more compatible with Sims 4 Studio because there are no extra mesh groups or diffuse maps. I also made a great effort to make the reflection in the mirror more realistic for the size of the room. I hope you will be able to use this resource to create your own beautiful CAS backgrounds! ♥
Also in case you missed it, you can download my CAS background used in the preview [here] (it is slightly different from the template package.)
Requirements:
Sims 4 studio
Image editor (Ideally photoshop)
my templates (attached below)
—————
Part 01: The Easy Way
The easiest way to create a CAS background with mirror is to use my attached templates.
Tumblr media
The PSD template is the best option, but for those of you that don’t have Photoshop, there is a PNG version as well.
You will need 2 images; one for the main background, and one that will be reflected in the mirror. The large top area is the main background, and the smaller rectangle at the bottom is what will be reflected in the mirror behind your sim.
In the image editor, paste your images and resize them to fit into the outlined areas.
For framing your screenshots, it’s important to understand that the mirror is actually just floating in space in front of a flat background. That means you’ll have to fake the perspective a bit and that may require some trial and error to get right. I recommend taking multiple screenshots at a variety of angles so you have options to work with. Use the model sim as a guide to help you with placing your background image. (Don’t forget to hide the model sim and UV layout when you’re done!)
Save as .PNG or .DDS and import it into the template package in Sims 4 Studio.
Tumblr media
That’s it! My goal was to make it super easy for you. Remember to only use one CAS background in your mods folder at a time since it's an override. Also note that it is not compatible with 'cas blob remover' since the instance for the dropshadow is now used as the mirror.
TOU — PLEASE READ:
I give permission to the Sims community to use my template files and modify them as needed to create your own CAS backgrounds. This took months of work, researching and experimenting, so please respect the effort I put into creating this resource by agreeing to these simple terms:
Don’t re-upload my files. Don’t claim my work as your own. If you use my templates for your cc, please share credit with my username (Lijoue) and link to my Patreon page. If you make any money from cc created with my templates, please consider making a donation via my Patreon. It is greatly appreciated.
download template files here
Part 02: The 3D Room
to be continued…
This part will take more time to finish because there’s a lot more steps involved in creating a 3D CAS room. In the meantime, the template should be enough of a starting point for those of you that already know how to make cc objects, since I already handled the hardest parts. Just understand that the mirror reflection is not automatically calculated, meaning that if you move the mirror in the mesh, you will need to change the Mirror Plane Normal and Mirror Plane Offset in S4Studio Warehouse to match the new angle or position. Otherwise it may look unrealistic or worse, it could reflect the eerie wasteland world that the CAS room is set in. (pictured below)

Since people ask me a lot how to research this or that type of mythology or religion I'll just tell you how I go about researching mythology and religion I'm not familiar with in general.
Keep in mind I'm not an expert. I'm just a guy who reads a lot about mythology.
So first, know what you're looking for. What culture's belief system are we looking at? Because you can't just look at a broad region. If you wanna know about "African" or "Asian" mythology generally that will not help you. You need to be looking at something specific. A specific group or religion.
So let's say, as an example, you want to research the stories and beliefs and history of Tibetan Buddhism. Because that's something I'm looking into researching right now, so I'll take you through my process of getting started on it.
So the first thing I do is... google Tibetan Buddhism. Now this is a still-living religion that has continuously been practiced since it's founding, so I scroll past the Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica entries until I find something by the people currently practicing it. In this case, I found an article by the Sakya Monastery in Seattle that gives a basic overview of their beliefs and different types of the religion that is currently practiced. This is what I'm looking for. I want to give myself a fairly good foundation of understanding of what's going on here before I start digging past the surface.
After this, I look for more articles and videos by monasteries explaining the basics. If this were from a religion that is either dead or has not been practiced continually since its founding I would skip all this and just go to the next step. Watching YouTube videos made by outsiders.
So after I give myself an idea of how people who practice the religion present themselves, I go searching on YouTube for overviews. I'm specifically interested in videos made by people that regularly make videos about this kind of thing and take it seriously. Sometimes this can take some digging. Something to look for is people who cite their sources, people who present the facts without outward judgement, and people who acknowledge their own biases while they explain these things.
A lot of these videos often give me ideas for books and primary sources to start referencing. With Tibetan Buddhism there's a lot of the regular Buddhism texts, along with a few others. I'm not looking to become an expert in this religion or convert to it, so I'll settle for reading about these books. I'm fairly familiar with Zen Buddhism specifically and the history of Buddhism more generally so this helps me a teeny bit here but Tibetan Buddhism is very specifically its own thing so I start googling specific stories and types of practices mentioned in the videos and articles I've been using.
Once I have been reading things from various different perspectives and feel comfortable enough to the point where I feel like I could explain the basics to someone who knows nothing about the mythology or belief system, this is the point where I start looking into books. This is also the part where I actually start combing through various Wikipedia articles, following chains and looking through reference sections to see if there's any good sources I should be digging into.
When I look to buy or borrow books, it depends on how in-depth I want to go. As is, I'm probably gonna buy a couple of different books on a beginners guide to Tibetan Buddhism and perhaps something on the history of it. With each book I consider I look up the author. Are they an expert in this subject? Do they practice this religion? Would I rather buy a book by someone that follows the religion or someone that's a scholar of it? Because you will get very different results depending on who is writing it. Things written for spiritual purposes are very different from purely educational books, so what do you want to get out of this research? Are you just looking for entertainment? Do you just want to be more knowledgeable about the world in general? Does someone you love find importance in this subject? Are you doing research for a project? Are you looking to incorporate aspects of this religion into your own life? The types of books you buy or borrow will heavily depend on your intentions and you should be careful about actually reading the book descriptions and reading the backgrounds of the authors to make sure you're buying the correct one for what you're hoping to get out of this.
My purpose in this case is simply feeding my own curiosity, so I'm leaning towards buying Essential Tibetan Buddhism by Robert A. F. Thurman. It's a bit old but it's written by someone that's a professor of Tibetan studies and has translations of some essential texts in it, so it seems like a good starting point for me, and possibly also an ending point. Because like I said, this is mostly about my own curiosity.
If I wanted to dig further I'd probably start looking into the reference sections of various books for other things to read, start digging into lists of primary sources, possibly find free to watch lectures online by people with doctorates in this sort of thing, and read into primary sources I find referenced in the various secondary sources I've been consulting up to this point.
Basically, start on the surface and follow the rabbithole down. And always remember that the perspectives of people who study something in a secular way for a living and people who actively practice a religion will be different from each other. Pick and choose what sources you use depending on what your intentions are. Reading something about Orphic hymns for scholarly reasons or for other research purposes and reading Orphic hymns because you're a Hellenistic pagan who wants to incorporate them into your personal practice are two extremely different things. Both are valid reasons to buy a book on Orphic hymns but the two books that the two hypothetical people here would buy are very very different from each other.
Good luck out there and always be respectful while you're poking around.

Pick a pile ‹𝟹
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
from left to right — Instinctively select the picture that feels right to you, whether based on your thoughts or the desires of your inner self. Choose the one that resonates with you, keeping in mind that this reading is meant to be general in nature and may not resonate with everyone.
Disclaimer — The images I used to select a pile were sourced from Pinterest, I hope the reading will resonate with you. I'm not responsible for any decisions you make in your life from my readings. I'm just a beginner and these readings are just for fun.
.♡ 🦋 MASTERLIST 𓂃⊹ ִֶָ
Tumblr media
Pile 1
8 of Pentacles, 4 of Cups, Emperor, Temperance, 4 of Swords, the high priestess.
You are a hardworking person. You focus on your tasks and don't let the distractions distract you. You are engrossed in yourself as a result of dissatisfaction.
When the Four of Cups turns up in a Tarot reading, new invitations and opportunities are flowing to you, but for now, you’re saying “no” and turning them away. Perhaps the prospects do not interest you, or your cup is full, or you already have too much on your plate.
You might be a water sign. You have a desire to get control of things in your life. You should not do that in order to create a balance between hardwork and luck in life. Take a step back and look at things from a different perspective.
You need to step back and introspect for a while. Let go of control and allow things to unfold on its own.
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of life and embrace solitude. You need time to reflect on your inner wisdom and connect with the intuition. The High Priestess signifies that the your intuition will be heightened during this time, and you will have a deep understanding of yourself and your inner workings.
Pile 2
The chariot, 5 of cups, 2 of swords, death, the moon, queen of pentacles.
Hello beautiful souls! I know it's hard to let go of the hurtful past events you went through. Don't cry about what you lost, be happy for what has remained. Your emotional self is taking a toll on you, sweetheart.
Take your time and try to move on from whatever has happened. Soon, you'll go through a big transformation in life. You have two options right now — one is to keep grieving over the spilled milk while the other is to move forward with upmost confidence and clarity about what you want in life.
Move forward, dear, as what awaits for you is the life you dream for. A life full of prosperity and abundance. Be the independent man/woman you want to be. You'll be rewarded for your efforts my darling.
Pile 3
The moon, 9 of swords, the devil, 10 of wands, 5 of wands, the hierophant.
You are anxious and you fear what is unkown to you right now. It's okay to not know a lot of things, it's yet to happen. Please acknowledge that these feelings are not based on reality. It is important to remember that the darkness will pass, and the light will return.
You are feeling trapped or powerless in a certain situation, and that you are giving into temptation or negative influences. The Devil card is a warning that you may be sacrificing your own values or freedom in order to gain something in return.
You are carrying a heavy emotional burden from a past disappointment or loss. This emotional baggage could be preventing you from moving forward in life, causing you to feel stuck or overwhelmed. Hold on, you are giving power to your inner demons instead of fighting them.
Please know that the things you're assuming are not going to happen in real life, if that's what stopping you. Your heart aches, i know that. But please hold on a little bit more. Know that you're a great warrior and you will fight everything what comes in your way.
A mentor of guide will soon enter your life, or that could be you yourself, your own guide. You'll be provided wisdom and strength. Don't worry, beautiful soul! Things will be in your favour.
Pile 4
2 of wands, two of cups, page of swords, 6 of cups, the emperor, the hermit, the chariot.
Are you waiting for someone? Your romantic partner?
You might be looking back at an old or past love and getting nostalgic about it.
Well, I see they too want to offer you love. There is a potential of romance.
I suggest, there is a need for structure and organization, and the establishment of clear boundaries and rules. At the same time, I also ask you to call for a period of reflection and introspection, allowing you to find your own inner wisdom and guide.
You'll be led to your divine purpose or your romantic partner then.
Pile 5
3 of swords, knight of pentacles, 5 of swords, 8 of pentacles, wheel of fortune, the sun, the empress.
Face your pain head on. By examining it closely, you may learn from it, and more importantly, heal it. Sometimes pain can be a great teacher. Don’t shy away from the lesson that you may be learning at this time.
You need to express your disappointment, sadness, or anger. Let it out! Find a healthy outlet for release. Clear the air. If you are thinking of confronting someone who has hurt you, by all means do, but try to ground yourself first.
This person may be taking advantage of you and making you uncomfortable, but you may be too afraid or unable to change the situation due to a lack of patience and hard work. It can be difficult to stand up for yourself in times like this and it is important to remember that you deserve to be in a healthy and safe place.
A turning point is approaching in your life, but you must be willing to put in the hard work to make the most of it.
If you work hard and put necessary efforts you might be the happiest person out there. Don't forget to love and nurture yourself. You deserve it!
Pile 6
8 of cups, page of pentacles, strength, 6 of cups, 3 of swords, 3 of wands.
Are you heart broken right now and reminiscing about the past?
You sense that something is missing, particularly on an emotional or spiritual level, and instead of waiting around for things to get better, you know you need to leave that unfulfilling situation. It may not make sense to others because on the face, it looks as if you have everything you had wished for – but, deep down, you know it’s not serving your Highest Good, and it’s time for you to let it go and move on.
You need to develop a sense of courage and resilience to overcome challenges and obstacles that may arise.
You should be patient and trust that good things are on the horizon. Look forward with optimism and faith. Everything will work out for you.
