All you need to know is:  Lucky and his sister grew up in Miami, Florida. Though they are technically half siblings, they share the same mother and have been raised together their entire lives. Growing up, things weren’t always easy or safe, so the two siblings always kept an eye out for each other. When Lucky was sixteen, he and their stepfather got into one of their frequent physical altercations. However, when things went too far, and his sister began to fear for Lucky’s life. In the heat of the moment, she grabbed the gun they kept in the home and shot their stepfather dead. After the shooting, the two siblings went on the run. Fancasting for a Trigun live-action tv series/movie!! I know we got just Trigun Stampede, but we can’t let Cowboy Bebop get a live action and not Trigun right??

For all my selections I would say about 75-80% are actors I have seen in one or more of their most well known roles. For anyone else I narrowed down to 2-4 options and I did extra research into their filmography, interviews to hear their voices and general vibe, etc. And I also looked at what kind of roles they trended towards—sci-fi/fantasy and superhero media giving them bonus points.

See below for info about the actors and my runner up choices for each character. I included tidbits like their age, height, and notable roles.

For Vash and Knives I wanted to first look for real life identical twins. After some research, I believe I found a fitting pair. Cole and Dylan Sprouse, best know for their childhood roles in the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Although I don’t think I knew their adult roles as well as their Zack and Cody days, that real twin dynamic just adds that extra layer.

Of the two, I found Cole having a softer look, and lately it appears he’s been going with black hair which seemed fitting if we think about black-haired Vash at the end of TriMax. Dylan’s look has just that different sharpness and edginess that I slotted him to Knives.

Ruby Cruz (Kit Tanthalos, Disney+’s Willow) is a very talented young woman and recently made a feature length movie debut as Hazel Callahan in Bottoms (2023) and will be starring in an upcoming rom-com The Threesome. (See notes about edit below.)

Milly was a tricky one for me. I have a couple of runners up below. My current pick is Mina Sundwall, especially for her role as Penny Robinson in Netflix’s space family drama Lost in Space.

Although I’m on board with the HC that Wolfwood is Latinx, I had to go with famous werewolf Jacob Black from Twilight, Taylor Lautner. I got a couple other choices below too.

Liam Hemsworth (or Chris idkkkk). Nuff said?

Rem was a bit hard to choose. I had to go with Candice Patton as a personal big fan of her role as Iris West in The Flash as a DC fan. She has just the right oh-crap-I-have-kids-I-am-not-prepared-at-all motherly acting vibe down pat that is essential for Rem.

Despite the fact that Christopher Daniel Barnes is always smiling in photos, his breath of filmography makes him such a good fit for wise Drunkle Roberto.

Being so effing hyped about Nicholas playing Lex Luthor in Superman Legacies (2025) he has the perfect mix of heroic and villain roles for Legato’s psychotic righteousness. And he’s already had blue hair (and fur all over his whole body) as Hank “Beast” McCoy, c’mon too easy.

Zazie Beetz… that couldn’t have been a coincidence? Like Studio Orange must have know about this actress when they worked on the Beast’s revamped design. For a second option I’d probably pick a child/adolescent actor but Zazie can pretty much take whatever form they want, so why not both? Edit: I’m going with Scarlett (Trixie from Lucifer). Very very talent young woman. She’s funny, smart, sassy.

Galeazzo Ciano & Frau Beetz: Love or Legend?

This love affair is clouded by mystery and a little bit of legend. We actually don't have many proofs to admit that there was actually something romantic going on between the two protagonists of this post. According to the Italian Historian Giordano Bruno Guerri, it's unlikely that there was love brewing between them, but it is certain that Frau Beetz had grown affectionate towards the Fascist Hierarch, causing her to change her initial plans. Even Edda Mussolini, when asked about what she knew and if she believed that they had had an affair, commented: "I don't know if it's true as I have never seen Frau Beetz again after I ran away, but I really hope it happened."

Who was Frau Beetz? How did she and Galeazzo Ciano meet?

Hildegard Burkhardt was a former German spy assigned by the Nazi regime to get hold of Count Galeazzo Ciano's diaries while he was in prison. According to legend, she turned from a spy into the lover of Mussolini's son-in-law, eventually helping Edda Ciano escape to Switzerland, where she managed to secure her husband's diaries. Going down in history as Frau Felizitas (or Felicitas) Beetz, she was secretary to Lieutenant Colonel Wilhelm Hottl, head of the German secret service in Italy. A controversial and mysterious character, endowed with excellent culture and a remarkable command of the Italian language (she had graduated from Leipzig University with a degree in Italian literature), she received, at the age of 22, the task of attempting to get Galeazzo Ciano to hand over her diaries, which were considered compromising to senior Nazi hierarchs (particularly Joachim von Ribbentrop and Heinrich Himmler) as well as Adolf Hitler.In order to achieve her goal, Frau Beetz assiduously frequented cell number 27 of the prison where Ciano, who was arrested because he was among the members of the Grand Council of Fascism that brought about the fall of the Fascist regime on July 25, 1943, was imprisoned. Instead of undertaking to find Ciano's diaries, Beetz eventually tried to save Count Galeazzo, husband of Edda, daughter of Benito Mussolini. Felicitas Beetz attended all the hearings of the Verona trial, returning every evening to the Scalzi prison to hearten Galeazzo. She assisted Ciano until the last moment, until the latter was transferred to the Porta Catena range for execution. After Ciano's execution (January 11, 1944), it was Frau Beetz who delivered Ciano's last belongings to his mother - Carolina - who was hospitalized, because she was heart ill, in the "La Quiete" health home in Varese. On the occasion of that meeting, Frau Beetz confided to Carolina Ciano: "I loved Galeazzo, Countess. And I still love him. He was the great love of my life." It seems that Edda Mussolini had seen in the German spy, more than a rival, an ally. This circumstance also appears to be confirmed in her memoirs, as Felicitas, together with Count Emilio Pucci, helped Edda escape with the children to Switzerland. The escape to Switzerland of Edda and her family allowed the explosive diaries of Galeazzo Ciano to be saved and consigned to history. After World War II, Hildegard Burkhardt left Utaly and returned to Germany.

If the WWE ever does another movie under their WWE Studios branch, here’s an idea:

Genre is horror. The basic premise is that in the state of Georgia, a couple of inmates successfully manage to escape prison. They end up fleeing to this farm deep in rural Georgia and take a family hostage. The goal was to just ransack the place and then move forward with the plan to flee the country. But that’s when they learn that there’s something really off about this particular farm…and they may not make it to dawn.

The twist is that the family are vampires who’ve been around since the Antebellum South. So, yeah, the villains are literally Confederate vampires.

The potential cast -

Glen Powell as the main male protagonist/leader of the fugitives (we gotta have that one non-wrestler in the lead role)

Zazie Beetz as the main female protagonist / a career criminal who helped the fugitives escape and joins them on the road

Kofi Kingston as the 2nd-in-command of the fugitives / the heart of the group

CM Punk as the asshole fugitive who is constantly questioning Glen Powell’s authority

Dominik Mysterio as the young fugitive who is treated like the kid of the group

Jey Uso as the loud-mouthed fugitive who makes everyone laugh

The Miz as the fugitive who you think is gonna be important, but ends up dying first (no hate, I just thought it’d be funny)

Cody Rhodes, AJ Styles, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, and Erick Rowan are the main villains / members of the Confederate vampire family

R-Truth as also a vampire, but one who sides with the fugitives since he wants to end the family and their curse (backstory is that he was a Union soldier who was accidentally turned into a vampire by Cody’s character)

There’s also the prison staff characters and other people on the farm, but those characters can be played by other non-wrestlers

Day 41: Trouble in Kakariko Village

At dawn, I head out again from Dueling Peaks Stable. It's a gorgeous morning.

As I ride up the hill I see Naydra flying almost out of the sunrise over the hills towards the peaks. Stunning. 

I check the secluded area past the rocks up the hill for old times' sake - there used to be a monster camp there. But now it looks like this is where the Stable Trotters' Beetz is camped.

It's a beautiful outlook here, to be fair.

He's trying to summon bees. He wants honey to make Mastro some honey crepes to cheer him up. He needs three combs of courser bee honey - apparently there's a chasm near Kakariko Village and bees nearby - so why's he camped here, so far from the village? Oh. It's scary. Fair enough. I give him some of my honey and let him know the Stable Trotters are actually just down the hill. 

In the pass between the hills, Addison again! How many signs can one guy build? 

There are ruins right by the village entrance. Letty and Totsuna are investigating. They point to one down the hill, which apparently the Princess has forbidden entrance to. I sense shenanigans. Letty and Totsuna want to be part of the Zonai Survey Team, and they think pinching parts of the ruins for personal study is the way to go about it. 

Garshon is riding out of town, and says we met at New Serenne Stable. He got sick of his brother's arguing about swords and beasts - ah, I remember! - and went off to explore caves and ruins himself. He's got a good memory for faces - it must be nearly a month since I saw him.  

At the top of the village, Lasli is worried about her grandmother - and Claree, who runs the clothing shop. I remember her - I hope I have enough gems to trade for some sneaking clothes. Lasli's grandmother got too close to the Gloom and is sick.

The only thing she can eat is porridge made of hylian rice, fresh milk and wild greens - and Lasli needs a porridge that will cure gloom sickness. I have the sundelion I think will do the trick, but no rice and milk.

I'll come back. There used to be a grocery shop at the bottom of the hill.

Ruins have fallen on the house opposite the clothing shop. Wasn't that Dorian and his daughters' house? I hope they're alright!

Part of the ruin is being used as some kind of workshop - Wortsworth is here, from Lookout Landing. He's translated the tablet that landed at Lookout Landing - it reads:

"Once held in honor as 'hochmayde' (handmaid?) to King Rauru and Queen Sonia, thereafter to his sister and to Princess Zelda. Here on this great stone and twelve more 'withalle make y endite min time' with the royal family. So might 'heore' remembrance preserve for the sake of him on whom our hope rests."

The author says she wrote 13 stone tablets in total about the Royal family. I wonder if more of them will mention Zelda? Wortsworth reckons she's a chambermaid of some kind. 

Wortsworth thinks Zelda's mention proves the name is as old as Hyrule - which is, I suppose, technically true. He'll reward me for pictures of any other stone tablets - though the translation will be reward enough for me. 

I visit the clothing shop. 5000 rupees for the stealth chest guard?? I may not have enough gems after all. How can they be so much more expensive? 

Claree is Lasli's older sister - ah. They want the money for their grandmother's treatment. That's fair enough, but I can't afford it. I might be able to gather the ingredients they need, though.

I just need to register the shrine here, and then I can nip back to Lookout Landing for the supplies I need. 

I visit the Goddess statue for stamina first. Koko is selling ring garlands in the square - very sweet. She's grown since I saw her last.

Then I head to the Chief's House. Impa's away looking for geoglyphs, so who's running things here? 

Dorian's guarding the Chief's House. He says Paya is in charge? Well, it's Lady Paya now. But the last time I saw her she could barely speak to anyone.

Dorian has been assisting her, for which I'm glad. But he says all she thinks about is the ring ruins. He asks me to speak to her, to try to remind her of her other duties. 

I squelch through the rain to meet her - she's talking with Tauro. She doesn't seem confident in being chief… I suppose she had no choice when Impa left. 

I have to tell her that the Princess is still missing. But Paya says she's seen her? Immediately after the Upheaval? She confirms what Letty and Totsuna said - the Princess has forbidden anyone to investigate one of the five ring ruins.

I can't imagine Zelda forbidding research. And it just doesn't make sense. Surely this is the imposter's work? She left suddenly once she'd delivered the instruction, which is a pattern I'm beginning to recognise from the imposter. 

Paya and Tauro agree it doesn't make sense, but they say that the Princess must have had a reason, so we still can't go up there - annoying. 

Calip of the Survey Team is guarding the ruins and won't let me even walk beneath them - does that mean people can't even visit the graves that lie beyond? That's unreasonable.

I think of Koko and her sister, and their mother's grave. Paya has to see sense. 

In the Chief's House, I find a journal of anonymous worries. Someone only finds comfort sleeping on the stone slabs in the ring ruins - weird. Lasli wants to know how to cure Gloom sickness - I know why. Monsters have appeared at one of the ring ruins out west - Drenja from the Zonai Survey Team needs help. Trissa can't find where the cuccos are laying, so the stores and the village are running low. Cottla - sorry, Not Cottla - has found a secret base for her and her mother - presumably because she's not allowed to visit her mother's grave. 

A litany of concerns and worries. All ignored. How could Impa abandon these people? How could Paya not see that they need her?

I find Purah's diary under Paya's bed - what's it doing there? She says she's hiding volumes of her diary around - she must have begun this before the Upheaval, I can't imagine she'd bother now. She writes that there's one in her own room. One at the Hateno Lab. One here. Where's the fourth? 

Paya's Diary of a Chief is on the desk, so I read that too. She writes of the swiftness with which Impa made her chief and left her to it. Dorian was concerned but said nothing to stop it. She documents the Upheaval, the fall of the ring ruins and the opening of the chasm. It was after that that Impa left. She had been reading a book with eleven symbols - are there that many geoglyphs? Or is this something else?

She says the Zelda who visited was "like a doll of herself… the same outside, but no spirit within." The description chills me. Others have said that they've seen a cold, emotionless Zelda. Surely this is the imposter. The Princess I know has always been warmth personified.

Paya believes the village has been reinvigorated by the ring ruins, research and tourism. How can I make her see the truth? Her people need her.

I head back outside. Letty and Totsuna are sheltering from the rain in the inn. The guy behind the counter, Dai, briefly tries to charge me 10,000 rupees for a bed - but quickly reveals he doesn’t work here. The owner left to make up the Survey Team’s beds and hasn't come back. There’s four camp tents around the village, so he could be anywhere. If I see a sleepy guy, Dai asks me to send him back to the inn to take over. Fine.

Outside, I meet Bugut. He’s come to see the ring ruins, and specifically the stone slabs with writing on, but he’s deathly afraid of heights. I’ll get him some photos. 

The weather clears at dusk. Trissa, in the produce store, says the old guys who stock it are busy driving off monsters - is this related to the call for help from the Zonai Survey Team I read in the Chief’s House? Probably - she says to head west to find them. 

I climb the hill to start heading to the shrine, finally, and find the Southern Ring Ruin Research Camp - complete with journal by Cori. They’ve found sundelions here and are cultivating them in the plum orchard. They’ve also found a Device Dispenser, which baffles them but is very useful for me. 

I take the scaffolding up the hill for a better gliding point to the shrine - and of course, by that point I might as well go and check out the ring ruins. Tauro’s left some translation notes from this ring: 

“There were (those) known as sages...who protect(ed the kingdom) of Hyrule from the Demon King together (with) King (Rauru).”

Nothing new there. But I do wonder if the others contain any new information. 

I glide down to the shrine, and spend the rest of the night solving it.

Because Ryan Johnson hasn’t confirmed a storyline for knives out 3 it obviously means that he hasn’t got any ideas so here are the best ideas I’ve seen or heard of:

Curtain Call : Ballerina case. Phillips estranged step nice dies and Benoit is called in to the theatre (his godmother owns it) and solves the case with Gemma Chan as his new Blanc Girl

Unnamed ski trip case : Benoit amd Phillip are skiing on their honeymoon, when the chalet they’re staying in gets snowed in, and one by one, people start dying. Very stereotypical whodunnit. Philip is not the Blanc girl in this he’s just about. Zazie Beetz is the Blanc girl

Unnamed wedding case: Benoit’s been invited to his godmothers nieces wedding (needs to be a weird relation) whenever the groom dies. There’s a big love triangle between the bride, her maid of honour and the best man. The family’s hate each other, Phillip is like the family’s lawyer or summat. Goldie Hawn is the Blanc girl (I want an old Blanc girl badly and goldie is so love rn)

Television case: there’s a murder on set of a popular tv programme (idk if it’s like a graham Norton type or a soap) but all of the suspects are famous and it was one of the camera men the whole time

HISTORY —

Blake had been an only child for the first six years of her childhood. It had been her and her mother. She had been quite happy in that one bedroom apartment at Ocean Crest with her, so when she’d met a man Blake hadn’t been thrilled. 

The dating turned into a serious relationship, and the man welcomed her and her mother into his larger home in Fisher’s Cove. Blake’s family of two doubled in size as she also gained a sibling four years her senior.

Early on Blake recognized that doing as she pleased for her own wants did nothing to earn the attention and praise of her new father. She was never a kid to enjoy the spotlight, but when her older sibling’s academic achievements overshadowed her own, she oftentimes found herself wishing that sometimes it was her that her parents were showing off during family holiday get togethers.

So, Blake tried harder.

Honor roll was an easy achievement, and so was earning a captain position on the girl’s lacrosse them with an MVP trophy handed over at end of season. She made scholarships with her academics and athletic achievements combined, but in all that time she felt her teen years slipping away.

You see, all her time had been spent trying to earn the same approval her sibling got (and by God, she did), but somewhere along the way she realized almost too late the cost to it. A childhood lost to books, an adolescence that raced by with few friends and fewer experiences beyond her accomplishments. Blake wasn’t unhappy, per se, but she did feel lost.

Lost on which path she wanted to take, and figuring out who she truly was. Her pursuit of a B.A. was another thing that wasn’t for her. She did complete school with a degree in tourism and hospitality management without a goal in mind.

Post graduation, Blake left for San Francisco in search of a job. There she’d met a man, and in the worst cliche sort of way, she fell for him. They were happy together, engaged even, until news came out that she had endometriosis. This also affected her fertility, and the chance of not being able to build a family was a deal breaker in the end.

The fertility issue was not something her ex-fiancé decided was a reason to end things, it was Blake’s decision. It took enough time of mulling it over to decide that what was best was to end things so that he could find someone to fulfill that dream with. For him, a family with kids was everything, and for her? She hadn’t really thought about it, but the chance of it being impossible beyond adoption wasn’t all that heartbreaking. To her it was an easy decision to call things off for his sake more than her own.

Post-break up, Blake returned to Aurora Bay, head held high, the reason for the broken engagement a secret she holds close to her chest to this day. Not for any shame or regrets, but because it is a sensitive subject. She doesn’t want sympathy for something she could not predict that is beyond her control. She used the money she saved up for the deposit on her apartment.

She took up a job at the Sea Shanty Shack, settling into something that pays the bills for the time being. She doesn’t dislike her job. If anything, Blake feels freer than ever having made this decision on her own and to live for herself.

With her return, she feels renewed in a sense. This is a chance for her to pave her own way. Though she is terrified of taking the first step down that path, the idea is there.

⊹ Recently, Blake has started dabbling in watercolor painting. A pastime of hers, she never got to train or put time into it as her academics took precedence. Watercolor paintings don’t bring home the paychecks, after all. ⊹ The topic of kids isn’t a difficult one, but Blake is on the fence about what she wants in that category. Sometimes she finds she enjoys her life now as she is relearning how to make it her own, and other times she wishes she could raise a tiny human. One day it might be in the cards, but despite her uncertainty she does know that this moment is not the time for it. ⊹ Her job in San Francisco was that of a Travel Consultant. It was a high stress, fast-paced job, and though it brought in decent money she ultimately decided that her happiness was more important. Working as a waitress at the Sea Shanty Shack gives her more room to breathe and focus on her hobbies. ⊹ Blake enjoys running themed 5ks - bubble runs, color runs, mud runs, etc. Nothing more than that, though. She isn’t competitive by any means. If you so much as breathe the words ‘half marathon’ around her, she might just keel over. ⊹ Blake has a tattoo on her right thigh of sunflowers.

Pitch for the third installment in the Until Dawn/The Quarry trilogy:

1) The title: META

(reason: double entendre since the game is a meta-take on horror gaming and a reference to the Metaverse)

2) The plot

In 1984, a mysterious serial killer known as The Gravedigger murders a sibling pair who were on their way to visit family.

In the present day, a group of people vacationing in the same spot as the Gravedigger murders realize they’re being stalked. But as the night goes on, the vacationers realize there’s something else to fear aside from the killer. Something…supernatural-

Wait…why does this feel familiar? Isn’t this the same plot as Until Dawn? Also, this doesn’t feel too different from The Quarry. Something feels wrong with this set-up…

As the game goes on, the main characters start to feel that there’s something off about their world. They feel like they’re just following a script and that they have no control over their actions. That’s when we get the big reveal; they’re trapped inside a virtual world that was developed by Supermassive Games. In reality, the main characters are gamers who were brought in by Supermassive to test a new virtual reality game. However, a rogue programmer hacked the game, resulting in the gamers losing their memories, being stripped of their free will, and becoming trapped inside.

You, the player(s), are an actual character in the story. You’re a Supermassive employee trying to save the gamers by playing the rogue programmer’s script and making choices for the helpless gamers. It’s up to you to stop the rogue programmer, who is making the virtual world more and more nightmarish as the story goes on.

So, while chapters 1-6 play out like a typical Supermassive game, chapters 7-10 become more of a surreal nightmare due to the rogue programmer fighting back against the player.

Squid Game, sorta kinda. It’s mainly the concept of this evil overseer watching over these people who are being forced to take part in the overseer’s game.

* Sameer Patel (INSECURE, RELAXED, DEFENSIVE): A gaming journalist from the United Kingdom. He is played by Dev Patel.

* Luis Santos (FOOLHARDY, CHARMING, BRASH): A gamer from Los Angeles and Melissa’s love interest. He is played by Anthony Ramos.

* Melissa Ramirez (AMBITIOUS, ADVENTUROUS, SELFISH): A gamer from Texas and Luis’ love interest. She is played by Leslie Grace.

* Donna Smith (COMMANDING, KIND, ADAPTABLE): A gamer who becomes the de facto leader of the group. She is played by Zazie Beetz.

* June Greene (REBELLIOUS, DETERMINED, WITTY): An e-girl streamer who is the first to realize something is off about the world. She is played by Erin Kellyman.

* Katrina Mason (NAIVE, ANTI-SOCIAL, FEARFUL): A NEET-type gamer who reluctantly joins the group. She is played by Kaitlyn Dever.

(Romance paths: Luis x Melissa, June x Katrina, Donna can choose between Myung-seok and Sameer. Sean is the only one without a romance path, for obvious reasons.)

* The Player, a gender-neutral Supermassive employee who, from the real world, is guiding the characters to safety (or getting them killed).

* Dante Connors: The rogue programmer responsible for trapping the gamers. He is the main villain of the game. Dante is played by David Tennant.

* The CEO of Supermassive, who fulfills the same role as the Curator, the Therapist, and Eliza Vorez. To make this as meta as possible, he is played by the actual CEO of the company.

Who would you say are your "main" gods? not necessarily major or minor, just who you focus on the most

I'd say the Netjer I focus on the most are; Anubis, Nephthys, Isis, Horus, Osiris, Set, Thoth, Ra, Bast, Khonsu, Hathor/Sekhmet, Meretseger, and Pakhet. That may change as more behind the scenes things go, but that's my present answer at least.

And as a bonus, have a set of wee character synopses for the gang under the cut 👀

Anubis (cis, he/him, pansexual, faceclaim is Keiynan Lonsdale): While he may only be prince of the Duat, he's every bit a goth short king. He inherited Nephthys' quiet and pragmatic character, as well as Osiris' charm and love for nature- animals in particular, dogs AND cats. (And everything else. Ammit was his idea.) Anubis is a soft spoken and fairly solitary individual, preferring to spend his leisurely moments on his own or with very limited company. He's deceptively shy and timid despite his royal standing, not to mention considerably more mellow than most of his family tree. He takes his duties in the Hall of Two Truths very seriously, making sure the scales are well tended and helping the souls of the dead through the hall.

Bast (cis, she/her, bisexual, faceclaim is Zazie Beetz): It comes as no surprise that the domestic cat was specifically crafted for Bast by her uncles Ptah and Khnum, the beasts’ temperament being closely derived from the goddess’ own personality. Companionable but independent, fierce but leisurely, self confident and feisty- though both are closely associated with the safety and warmth of home, they are by no means tame. The goddess herself would be the first to point out that she may be Ra’s current Eye and (in her mind) favorite, her father does not own her, however much they may try to inforce otherwise. That isn’t to say the first Pharaoh can’t be stifling at times- there was a reason she once left to wander the surrounding kingdoms- but she does her best to keep her father’s expectations and demands from dictating who she is.

Hathor/Sekhmet (cis, she/her/[Sekhmet]he, bisexual, faceclaim is Tessa Thompson): Once the Eye of Ra, now the current Queen of the Gods. Both goddesses are their own individuals yet part of the same being, similar yet different; Hathor is vain but Sekhmet is arrogant, Hathor enjoys leisure while Sekhmet would rather spar or run or lift, Hathor is very regimented in her schedule yet Sekhmet hates extensively planning ahead. One thing the two “sisters” can always agree on, however, is beer. Both are equally formidable combatants and have strong, radiant personalities, steadfastly loyal to their father and husband- though which they’d pick if forced to is yet another point of contention between the two.

Horus (cis, he/him, bisexual, faceclaim is John Boyega): Having something like the fate of a kingdom and avenging their father’s murder thrust upon someone at a young age is bound to have some long term effects. While Horus (the Younger) is a magnificent warrior with a good heart and intentions, he’s still quite lost in the role of Pharaoh, relying heavily on his advisors and queen for assistance. Some may (and do) argue that this makes the young king unfit to rule, too unsure and thus a liability, and Horus himself considers this every now and again. And yet he hasn’t destroyed the royal palace, or dried up the Nile, or allowed Heliopolis to be overtaken, or any number of other horrible possibilities. That has to count for something, right? And being able to admit that he’s gifted in leadership but by no means a genius, that it’s beneficial to have the advice of Isis and Thoth, that he himself is not the sole reason the kingdom still stands is a fair quality to have. Even if he’s otherwise overly self confident at times.

Isis (cis, she/her, pansexual, faceclaim is Danai Gurira): With no prior familiarity to the royal family, one couldn’t be faulted for assuming Horus got his egotism and verve from Osiris. But most any of the Netjer would be quick to tell you that while he certainly inherited his father’s graciousness (in some amount), the current king’s drive and intensity came from his mother Isis. Her cleverness and sagacity are well known throughout the pantheon, skillful enough with magic to compete with even Thoth- the very creator of it. And while she is by no means overly boastful, Lady Isis is very aware of her talents and carries herself with a suitable confidence.

Khonsu (nonbinary, he/they, bisexual, faceclaim is Donald Glover): Think Prince Naveen if nothing happened post his parents cutting him off- no Lawrence, no Facilier, no Tiana, no frog adventure- and he had to figure shit out himself. The only difference is Khonsu cut himself off from them- or, more specifically, his father Amun. Mut was every ounce the incredible mother she's known as, but Amun was on the polar opposite, "neglectful, patronizing, self-confidence-destroying dad" side. Along with some other factors, this culminated in a sleazy jackass of a man-child with a gambling problem, trouble making connections with others, and a massive ego to compensate for his utterly dismal self image.

Nephthys (cis, she/her, homosexual, faceclaim is Ruth Negga): By far the most subdued personality amongst her siblings, the goddess of mourning has an appropriately somber, melancholic personality. Beneath this cool outer layer, however, is a shrewd brilliance and natural talent for negotiation, a skill Nephthys employs to at least try and keep the peace. She’s perfectly happy being overlooked and underestimated (most of the time), having learned how to use this for her own gain. She is by no means a malicious, manipulative goddess, caring and compassionate by nature- but she is also not above using various types of persuasion to accomplish her goals.

Osiris (cis, he/him, bisexual, faceclaim is Idris Elba): A king in life as well as afterlife, the eldest of Nut’s children is the very definition of “benevolent ruler”; kind, gentle, compassionate, but firm and harsh when necessary. He has always been one to put the needs of others before his own, continuing his habit of overworking himself even after death. Despite his serious, stoic demeanor, the King of the Dead is still a very warm and bright individual, good-humored and amicable, doing his best to balance between professionalism and being personable with those serving him in the Hall of Two Truths- another habit carried over from his time on the throne of Heliopolis.

Pakhet (cis, she/her, homosexual, faceclaim is Sheila Atim): While not foreign in origin, Pakhet is a goddess that was alienated amongst the pantheon, driving her to a nomadic life of fierce independence. She resents much of the Netjer, with few exceptions held in a more vaguely disdainful opinion. Spitefully embracing the solitude forced upon her, Pakhet wanders the deserts of the world, her only sympathy being reserved for fellow travelers- whom she protects from the venomous stings and bites of the wildlife they face. The only deity with an actually positive relationship with the standoffish goddess is the similarly outcast Set, each other the closest thing to friends as they’ve ever had. Not that Pakhet would ever admit as such.

Ra (genderfluid, he/she/they, asexual/aromantic, faceclaims are Peter Mensah and Marianne Jean-Baptiste): While his reign as King of the Gods has long since ended, the solar god is still very much a ruler- his court is just considerably smaller these days. And despite the time, she is still resentful of her usurpation, as well as every other betrayal she’s perceived. Neither forgetting nor forgiving, Ra holds onto every grudge they’ve developed, keeping the few deities they still trust as close as they’ll let them. That being said, while Ra has abandoned Heliopolis and severed himself from the rest of the pantheon, he has by no means shirked his duties; she still sails Mandjet from horizon to horizon during the day, warding off her twin with the help of her crew during the night. Though their reasons for continuing this aren’t necessarily born of any care for those outside of their circle.

Set (demiboy, he/him, homosexual, faceclaim is Giancarlo Esposito): Whoever said envy was green clearly didn’t take the Red Lord into consideration. Before his banishment, he had always been in someone else’s shadow- Osiris was beloved even before he became king, Isis was celebrated for her cunning wit, Nephthys was never on anyone’s shitlist, even Horus-Ur was better liked by Ra. Until the feather-headed idiot got himself killed by a scorpion of all things. (How Set wishes he could’ve been more directly responsible for his death as well as Osiris’, extinguishing the solar god himself instead of neglecting to mention the venomous beast in his path.) It’s just as well that he was swindled out of his entirely legitimate victory; everyone hated him to begin with, and the feeling was mutual. This way he doesn’t have to deal with any of them, and they don’t have him to talk about behind his back anymore.

Thoth (genderfluid, he/they/she, bisexual, faceclaim is Paul Van Haver): Brilliant. Sophisticated. Exalted. All three are apt descriptions of the long standing royal advisor- though some might add eccentric, condescending, stuck up, and just plain weird. Thoth is acutely aware of the abnormality of his self-creation making him inherently different from the rest of the pantheon- not to mention his appearance being far from godly- yet he’s become a vital part of the royal court despite this otherness. He has served Ra and Osiris, and now Horus as their advisor, scribe, magician, doctor, and arbiter; he has quelled many potentially disastrous tempers, resolved countless troubles, negotiated innumerable confrontations. Even in the Hall of Two Truths, he's responsible for recording every soul that passes through, the goddess Ma'at entrusting him alone to handle her Feather of Truth. With all that in mind, as well as the god's genuine care for Osiris and his family, it's quite easy to forget the fact that Thoth is the God of Balance, and balance is not the same as order.

Appearance

Backstory

Blake's conception had been a surprise following her older brother's birth. Maybe not so much as the twins following. With enough of a gap between them it's not shock, but rather that they had been a more startling discovery in the form of the biggest bluest plus sign, but Blake wasn't expected all the same.

Most of the Carter parents' energy had already gone into the eldest son, but that didn't mean Blake got overlooked. Similar expectations fell on her tiny shoulders, and they had been there for as long as she could remember. Longer than she thinks she's come to learn the love for her youngest siblings. Work hard, strive for greatness, and settle for nothing less.

Early on Blake recognized that doing as she pleased for her own wants did nothing to earn the attention and praise of her parents. She was never a kid to enjoy the spotlight, but when her brother's academic achievements overshadowed her own, she oftentimes found herself wishing that sometimes it was her that her parents were showing off during family holiday get togethers.

So, Blake tried harder.

Honor roll was an easy achievement, and so was earning a captain position on the girl's lacrosse them with an MVP trophy handed over at end of season. She made scholarships with her academics and athletic achievements combined, but in all that time she felt her teen years slipping away.

You see, all her time had been spent trying to earn the same approval her brother got (and by God, she did), but somewhere along the way she realized almost too late the cost to it. A childhood lost to books, an adolescence that raced by with few friends and fewer experiences beyond her accomplishments. Blake wasn't unhappy, per se, but she did feel lost.

Lost on which path she wanted to take, and figuring out who she truly was. Her pursuit of a B.A. was another thing that wasn't for her. She did complete school with a degree in tourism and hospitality management without a goal in mind.

Post graduation, Blake left for Seattle in search of a job. There she'd met a man, and in the worst cliche sort of way, she fell for him. They were happy together, engaged even, until news came out that she had PCOS. This also affected her fertility, and the chance of not being able to build a family was a deal breaker in the end.

The fertility issue was not something her ex-fiancé decided was a reason to end things, it was Blake’s decision. It took enough time of mulling it over to decide that what was best was to end things so that he could find someone to fulfill that dream with. For him, a family with kids was everything, and for her? She hadn’t really thought about it, but the chance of it being impossible beyond adoption wasn’t all that heartbreaking. To her it was an easy decision to call things off for his sake more than her own.

Post-break up, Blake returned to Fairford, head held high, the reason for the broken engagement a secret she holds close to her chest to his day. Not for any shame or regrets, but because it is a sensitive subject still. She doesn’t want sympathy for something she could not predict that is beyond her control. She used the money she saved up to purchase a two-bedroom ranch in the suburbs.

She took up a job in hotel management at the Mountainside Inn, settling into something that pays the bills for the time being. She doesn’t dislike her job. If anything, Blake feels freer than ever having made this decision on her own, and she’s taking time learning how to pursue what she enjoys without the overbearing eyes of her parents over her shoulder.

With her return, she feels renewed in a sense. This is a chance for her to pave her own way. Though she is terrified of taking the first step down that path, the idea is there. For the time being, she manages the hotel and comes home to her Aussie pup, Koda.

Headcanons

1. Her Australian Shepherd Koda is her best friend. She brought him home shortly after moving to the suburbs, and now they're inseparable.

2. Recently, Blake has started dabbling in watercolor painting. A pastime of hers, she never got to train or put time into it as her academics took precedence. Watercolor paintings don't bring home the paychecks, after all.

3. The topic of kids isn’t a difficult one, but Blake is on the fence about what she wants in that category. Sometimes she finds she enjoys her life now as she is relearning how to make it her own, and other times she wishes she could raise a tiny human. One day it might be in the cards, but despite her uncertainty she does know that this moment is not the time for it.

4. Her job in Seattle was that of a Travel Consultant. It was a high stress, fast-paced job, and though it brought in decent money she ultimately decided that her happiness was more important. Hotel management gives her more room to breathe and focus on her hobbies.

5. Blake enjoys running themed 5ks - bubble runs, color runs, mud runs, etc. Nothing more than that, though. She isn’t competitive by any means. If you so much as breathe the words 'half marathon' around her, she might just keel over.

They were encouraged and later seduced by Pestilence, who saw potential in their thoughts, but he was dying of an unknown disease, watching their life slip away. Pestilence came to him with an offer, a way to continue on without dying. Turned into a vampire at 46s years old, he had no idea what he was in for. With a thirst for blood, he took to the world with a new zeal. Deeply intellectual, they have spent centuries at the cutting edge of education. Have developed an addiction to Pestilence’s blood, which gives him cryptic visions. He is currently trying to figure out what the Franchise is and how to transcend his current predicament of vampirism.

Unlike most vampires, Eho doesn’t hold reverence for the time she’s walked this Earth. She prefers to live in the current age and for that hasn’t fallen prey to morose pining for a past she hated. Only her sire and her lover know the path that she’s walked, turning at the age of 29, and why she doesn’t like to talk about it. She’s a big believer in vampire superiority, believing by focusing on the future and anything beyond cooperation that the world will ultimately be a better place. Determined, focused and reverent to her sire, she's the one that keeps the Family together, unafraid of being disciplinary, but she usually leaves that for the other second. Her relationship with Sofia is being kept a secret because of Sinan Kizil, if he knew that they were involved there would be hell to pay.

Opposite to Eho, Sakina is proud of where she’s come from, and is willing and able to brag about what she’s survived to any willing to listen. Instead of finding her fate at the end of the hangman’s noose, she found eternal life and she’s been capitalizing on it since. She feels that she is better fit to be the primary to Dimos, and is actively looking to usurp Eho, citing the disrespectful behavior that the older vampire shows.

Once hailed as one of the best painters of her time, Adalgisa wasn’t always known by that name. In fact it wasn’t until 200 years after her transformation at the age of 33 that she came to be true to her inner self. An unfortunate favorite of Dimos’ to sit and talk about philosophy, Adalgisa’s heart is in her art. She owns and operates an art house just outside of Baltimore and often partners with the Franchise Owner there to put on high art shows that attract a wide range of clientele. She detests the schemes of the rest of her family and would prefer to be left to her art in peace.

The youngest member of familia aut mors and turned at the age of 23, and the one with the political dreams, Lucas has always lived a life of privilege. From a long line of politically minded farmers (and further back plantation owners), Lucas hails from Savannah and is proud of the men in his history. He fell in with Dimos at a function shortly after the Revelation, and it was the young man’s spirit that led the old philosopher to give him a chance to chase his dream eternally. Lucas is currently spearheading the vampires in senate movement, campaigning that age limits do not apply if you are undead, and stands on the platforms of his family. There’s no secret that it’s Dimos that writes the scripts to Lucas’ speeches.

Lorelei’s beginnings -

Lorelei was born in Cardinal Hill in 1957. She was a single child in a family of witches. Her upbringing was plagued with financial troubles, and worrying about where the next meal would come from. She is not a stranger to sleeping under 4-5 blankets to keep warm, or spending the day at her parents' workplace instead of a daycare.

Her magical ability was not nurtured in her youth, and while she was not kept from learning about her history and powers, she did not have access to the time or resources that it would have required to formulate her powers more. She did come to rely on illusion magic however, as it became a reliable method for shoplifting. She did not tell her parents about this, due to them being sternly against thievery of any type.

She was able to gain regular employment at 16 and improve her finances somewhat. When she was 18 her parents moved away from Cardinal Hill, but Lorelei stayed behind to finish high school, as she felt comfortable supporting herself. She also didn’t want to leave, because she feared she would fall back into desperation. 

Lorelei never fully explored the possibility of her being anything but straight, and when she started living alone she properly started dating, all men. Through countless failed relationships and constant questioning on why it's not like in the movies, she was able to discover her sexuality, and the first person she came out to was her partner at the time. While he was disappointed continuing the relationship wasn't possible, he was supportive of Lorelei during this time. 

Lorelei started working at Whimsy Bouquets 6 years ago, and while not super passionate in the growing and maintenance of plants, she enjoys the arranging and design that comes with the job. She has also found that her experience with illusion magic has come in handy, as she likes to make all the flowers in the store have that pop of colour when a customer comes in.

An insight into Lorelei -

Lorelei is not very outgoing, she is not very courageous, and she is not very forthcoming when talking about herself. However she is caring.

Lorelei always makes sure that whenever she is eating with people, everyone will have a plate of food in front of them, a glass of water to their side, and if she can help it, a smile on their face.

She is not a very exciting person when it comes to going out or partying, she would much prefer sitting at home with a good book, but she tries her hardest to hang out with everyone around her, as long as they reach out to her first. 

Lorelei is not the main character in her own story, and honestly she is fine with that. She likes the idea of improving other people's lives, and her philosophy is that if you've improved the day of another person, then it is a day worth living.
