I am here to torment you with a half-baked, unfinished idea :))
SO, arranged marriage with Wonwoo and Seokmin.
Not at the same time, don’t be so silly that would be scandalous.
No what I mean is your parents decide that you need to be married to start producing offspring because all of their friends have grandchildren so you need to step tf up and pop some suckers out. So they put their noses out and bring back two dashing, wonderful options for you. Jeon Wonwoo and Lee Seokmin. Both of whom seem like perfect husband material on paper.
But you know better.
Jeon Wonwoo is one of the most self-absorbed cold hearted people you’re had the displeasure of meeting. He always seems to have a snarky remark ready and a boast to one up everyone. It’s a wonder he has so many admirers, minus the fact he’s ridiculously handsome in a way that makes it hard to decide if you want to smother him with a pillow or have him push your face into a pillow.
On the other hand Lee Seokmin is one of the loudest, immature people you’ve crossed paths with. You can always tell if he’s at an event as soon as you step into the room by the sheer volume of his voice and laughter and the gaggle of people always surrounding him to watch his clownery. Like Wonwoo, Seokmin is also insanely attractive in a way that has you at odds with yourself.
Anyway, so your parents tell you your options and that if you don’t marry one of them they will disown you entirely and you’ll have no-one but yourself to face the world with. You know they’ll do it too to protect their social standing so you begrudgingly agree
You meet the men separately of course and are reminded all over again of why you can’t stand either of them.
Wonwoo has you meet him at his work, in his office in a spare half an hour in his schedule to discuss the potential marriage. He’s supposed to be wooing you and convincing you to marry him but he’s just listing benefits as if you’re buying a car; tells you his monthly earnings, about all the properties he owns, the assistant he’ll hire you to keep you company, the events he’ll take you to once married. Nothing more than a business deal and you know that is all he sees the marriage as, a way to unite your two important families. That’s a marriage you never want.
Whereas Seokmin is once again entirely opposite, he takes you to a fairground and insists on playing all the games, riding all the rides, eating all the treats. He wins you stuffed toys you don’t even have the space in your arms to carry easily and dances like a fool every time you pass by the speakers dotted around with a dopey self-satisfied look on his face. You don’t get the chance to discuss the marriage at all and at the end you leave feeling sick and overwhelmed from all the noise and people at the busy fairground. He kisses your cheek and asks to go on another date when you have time, you weren’t even aware this was a date. And if this is how all dates with Seokmin will be, you really don’t want another.
After both meetings, all you know for certain is that you truly cannot stand either man and don’t want to marry either. But you don’t have any option. You have to make a choice.
And that’s all you’re getting :))
Love you bby 😘

and this my dear friends is why they tell you - DON’T MEET YOUR IDOLS IRL..
i fangirled over chee for far too long .. unfortunately befriended her and it’s the beginning to my own downfall because why THE FUCK AM I GETTING PLAGUED BY THIS IDEA AT 3 in the morning??
idc if it’s scandalous.. i want em BOAF! you can’t make me choose
i shoulda known better when you asked me my favorite trope at ass o clock!!!
and wonwoo that brags about his real estate ? and seokmin on play dates ? girl atp make them both marry each other .. why put yn in the equation.. they fit the arranged marriage enemies to lovers trope the BEST

People: "omgg Catelyn was such an evil bitch if she was so hurt at Ned she should have taken it out on him instead of Jon who did nothing wrong!"

I still find it funny that people call eleven a "deadbeat husband" and their marriage "toxic" but twelve is the "perfect husband" and their marriage "wedded bliss" all because of the few moments we'd seen between 11 and River were them being "toxic". yes of course! let's ignore how the minisodes show how that description isn't true and even how little moments in the episodes themselves – "what? that's it?" (why haven't you kissed me goodbye? are you being sly on purpose so I'd kiss you first?) and "they wouldn't bury my wife out here" and the music room is the heart of the home and it's not a ghost story, it's a love story – show 11 cared and put in the work and yes, they're going to have disagreements like the ones in TATM because duh who doesn't but it does not mean it is the entirety of their relationship but people have taken it and made it the entirety of their relationship.

Thinking about how shitty Jean would be with kids. I feel like him and Harry both talk to kids like adults, but where Harry talks to them like people with opinions, Jean will beef with a 6 year old because they can't open a peanut butter jar. Jean will play Sorry! with a child and he will be out for blood the entire time. He stole mustard from a homeless man I just know he'd be playing basketball and get dunk after dunk on an unsuspecting teenager just to feel the thrill of victory. Cuno is his enemy and I think it'd be really funny to put him in charge of training him

Alicent being ignored as a parent during those first few years. Alicent being expected to take care of aegon, while also allowing Viserys to take him whenever he so pleased, to show off and pass around like a model toy. Alicent being denied her child whenever lords and ladies were around. Alicent only getting him back when she was at her wits end, stressed after being separated from him for so long, watching people hold him wrong, play with him wrong, touch him wrong. Alicent only getting him back when he is fussy and no longer a source of entertainment for Viserys and his guests. Alicent holding her baby close to her chest during outings or events, stiffening when people ask to see him, hesitant to release her grip on him. Alicent biting her tongue when people ask to "give her a break" when she really wants to tell them that it's her baby and she's perfectly capable. Alicent being so exhausted from guests and Aegon being so little and full of energy, and her second pregnancy, causing her to doze with Aegon in her arms, only to nearly lash out when someone tries to slip him from her arms, engulfing him in her arms as if to fend him from hungry wolves. Alicent carrying him around, even as she grows tired, her arms burning and back aching, so she knows he is safe, away from prying hands and acrid whispers, away from his father's attempts to use him for amusement purposes. Alicent feigning a smile, feigning composure and enjoyment, when really, she just wants to be home, in her chambers with her son, where no one can bother them, where they aren't props meant to smile and wave for a man who does not love them.
(inspired by this reblog of my post from earlier. cause yes, @squgs [hope you don't mind me tagging] is right, she would very much go to war for her baby)

i think we as a fandom need to talk about the fact that the targtower children’s resentment and disdain for rhaenyra is not just the work of viserys lack of parenting but due to everyone else too.
it’s from otto doing everything in his power to stop rhaenyra from getting the throne so his blood can get it, not because he thinks aegon is or would be a good king, not because he thinks his grandson deserves it, but because his blood would take the throne, not rhaenyra’s, not daemon’s. HIS.
it’s from alicent’s every conversation on screen with aegon revolving around rhaenyra. how, in ep.6, his mother stops his session to tell him he needs to be better to his brother in public so we can be a united family against her, how if rhaenyra takes the throne, she’ll have no choice but to kill them to keep her throne, how in ep.8, alicent is mad at his continuous behaviors but only this mad because rhaenyra is about to be in town.
the talk before his coronation is explicitly about how much his father wanted rhaenyra on the throne, how he had twenty years to change it and never did. it’s about alicent telling him not to not be swayed by judgements to kill rhaenyra, how above all the terrible she’s done, she still his sister. yet no one has ever acted like she is.
it’s from aemond’s eye being taken out and it ending with his mother yelling at rhaenyra about duty and sacrifices, how she can do all and never get in trouble, how she does as she pleases and is happy, yet she, the queen, is dutiful and isn’t. aemond’s eye is used to get back at rhaenyra, his mother is mad that his eye is gone but it’s more because RHAENYRA’S sons took it then it being taken at all. how he has to soothe his mother even if he’s the one bleeding.
it’s from criston cole bullying and tormenting rhaenyra’s sons because they are rhaenyra’s sons. It’s about them being lesser because they came from her indecency, them being worse because they came from her. her sons being lower than them because of them being a direct connection to rhaenyra and him feeling mad about not being the one she choose.
the targtower children entire world revolved around rhaenyra. it wasn’t just viserys who preferred her, everyone did! rhaenyra’s stepmother would rather fight her than love them! their mother’s sworn sword would rather mess with her children as an act of vengeance than genuinely be interested in them, their grandfather’s every political move was to stop her husband from being near power. love or hate, those children never had a chance to see rhaenyra on their own before or after Driftmark.
their father, her father, loved her more. their mother, her stepmother, hated her more than she cared for them. their grandfather, who has no connection to her, would rather deal with politics through them against her than for them. their mother’s sworn sword, who was rhaenyra’s sworn sword first, hates her more than he likes them.
these kids, again, never stood a damn chance!!

One of the biggest arguments I’ve seen used by the Ob*d*l*s against Anidala, is that scene in the ROTS novel where Padmé says she could trust OW with the secret of the rebellion and was hesitant to tell Anakin and I just wanna say:
Padmé wasn't an idiot. She was an extremely intelligent and competent woman, perfectly able to understand that loving Anakin and thinking that he could be trusted with a certain politic-related matter were two very different things and reducing her choice regarding who to trust with an important political matter only on the basis of her feelings of romantic love diminishes her professionalism, and this is why I say y'all could never understand her.
Padmé didn’t have to "love" OW or even like him at all to know he was the perfect Jedi to ask for help in a secret political matter.
That's the point being made in the novel, she’s hit with the realization that Anakin in this particular moment could not be told this piece of info because of his relationship with Palpatine, and Padmé specifically mentions in the Junior ROTS novel that she didn't want to make Anakin “keep a secret” if he didn’t agree with their stance because it’d be “unfair.” So this also played a part in why Padmé didn’t think it best to inform Anakin about the Rebellion. It honestly had little to do with her actually lacking trust in him, and more to do with the circumstances she was in not allowing her to be open with her husband and her not wanting to make him choose between his wife and his “father figure.”
Tumblr media
However, Padmé knows OW’s political ideas aren't tied to ONE particular person but to a philosophy, one which is closer to her own, at that point. None of this was ever meant to be hinted as “romantic” or even remotely insinuated as romantic. It’s strictly professional and even the tone of the scene makes that so abundantly clear.
All I’m saying is that, some of these proshippers are doing the most out here to try and prove their ship, like my loves? You forgot a very important thing called ✨ context ✨ and regardless of her rational thinking, Padmé still went out of her way to try and talk out all of this Rebellion secrecy stuff with Anakin when she confronted him in the scene where she asks if he ever thought they were “fighting on the wrong side.” Padmé didn’t trust OW in the same way she trusted Anakin (with her entire self and being) she had the level of trust and love for Anakin that was only meant for him.
Tumblr media
Mixing up her unwavering faith in Anakin as her husband with her trust in OW’s devotion to duty as her comrade/ally is purposely deluding yourself, because the two aren’t the same and therefore can’t be compared. An example of this is: Padmé constantly putting more value to Anakin’s words over OW’s in the end of ROTS when he came to tell her of Anakin’s “crimes”. She completely disregarded what OW had claimed about her husband and instead made her way to where Anakin was herself, to ask him directly. Despite what the truth was, this is proof of her trusting Anakin unconditionally, and I didn’t even think I had to spell that out because it’s as clear as day.
In conclusion, Padmé didn’t trust OW more than Anakin, she just knew the circumstances she was in didn’t exactly make it easy for her to openly talk with her husband about these matters and that’s part of what played into the issues they had in ROTS, it’s exactly what Sidious wanted. This scene in the novel doesn’t exist to imply some hidden romantic undertone that George was intending all along. No, far from that. George was always an “open, , clear and easy to understand” type of storyteller, so if the former was the case, this scene wouldn’t be any different if there was some hidden message or subtext the reader should be made aware of, George would make it obvious. Fact of the matter is, the one and only reason for this scene in the novel to exist is only to show to us as the “reader” that the narrative is tearing apart the Star-Crossed-lovers (Anakin and Padmé.) and visibly putting the two of them on different sides in the story because the consequences of this narrative choice is what will foreshadow and play into the inevitable and great fall of the couple and character in the future. Even the novel makes a very purposeful and clear distinction between “love and trust” in this chapter where all this occurs. Padmé loves Anakin, but knew she had to trust OW with the situation at hand. And if you want to talk “narratively” Padmé needed a reason to keep the Rebellion a secret from Anakin, thus leading to Palpatine to sense “betrayal” in Padmé later on, and using that to his advantage to manipulate Anakin even more into getting him to “suspect” her. It’s all spelt out for us and it’s not hard to miss. All it takes is a little media literacy and understanding context.
(Mind you, hypothetically, if this scene existed for literally any other reason, it would’ve been brought up again, but it wasn’t. It’s only mentioned once and exists for only one moment which was meant to serve a certain narrative and then it was done. There’s not much to make of it since the context of the scene is so clear.)
#star wars#anidala#anakin skywalker#padmé amidala#sw novels#revenge of the sith novelization#revenge of the sith junior novelization#avoiding tagging and using full character names because I don’t wanna attract those weirdos on my post#haters dni#anti ob****d*la#i’ve seen shippers claim that ow and padme would make a better couple simply because they both value duty and share some of the same ideals#even though padmé’s strong sense of duty doesn’t define her personal identity#she’s always wanted to leave behind her responsibilities to live a simple happy life with her husband#she stays out duty and care for peace and justice in the galaxy#which is actually a trait she shared with anakin not ow#anakin is loyal and dutiful because he cares about helping people and that’s padmé’s aim too#ow stays to help people because of his devotion to the jedi#that’s not the same#saying she’d be more compatible with ow is like the punchline of a bad joke#in every way padmé shares more in common with anakin when it comes to the core of her personality#and relationships aren’t built off sharing ideals mind you#it’s about connecting and sharing core values which is what anakin and padmé always had#there’s a reasons why padmé and ow argued a lot in wild space#padmé says the one thing her and ow can agree on is loving anakin otherwise their mindsets clash way too much#compatible? never in a million years.#padmé herself disagrees#and apart from the fact that canonically padmé never shows romantic interest in him#nor does the narrative include ow as one of padmé’s love interests…#holy god my tags deserve their own posts

man can I just say how adorable Wolf's interaction with Delia in the wedding scene is? When she's explaining her situation he gives her the most understanding looks and it's because they both effectively had the same cause of death. Delia turned her mourning of Charles into part of her performance art, and died from being scammed with asps who were NOT defanged. Wolf wanted to deliver the most authentic performance possible and died from presumably a negligent armorer who didn't bother to check if the grenade was live or not before shooting. both of them were quite literally killed by their art (not by their own faults to be fair but from someone else's irresponsibility). and it's kind of lovely Delia got such a sympathetic escort back to the netherworld who knows her situation firsthand probably better than anyone else
it's weirdly wholesome and empathetic even as their situations were both played for morbid laughs, and if Delia didn't have eyes only for Charles (what's left of him) and Wolf wasn't in a committed relationship with Janet I'd even say I could have seen things going somewhere between them

I'm more of a TawnyLeaf person. Leafstar and Tawnypelt old people bisexualing it out...
actually no, yeah, you are SO right, tawnypelt x leafstar would slap so hard
and honestly with squirrelstar's adventure with leafstar in squirrelflight's hope, maybe she can join them, the three of them being a throuple bisexualing it out in their old age
tawnypelt and leafstar lost their ginger husbands and now have their ginger wife and each other and squirrelstar finally leaves her garbage brown tabby husband for her brown tabby (and cream) wife and her garbage husband's much better sister
tawnypelt should have ALSO BEEN LEADER NOW, BY THE WAY, IF THE WRITERS HADN'T BEEN FUCKING COWARDS AND IF THEY DIDN'T HATE WOMEN
they should all be bisexual grandmas, leaders of their respectful clans, and in love with each other

Oh no! I just had a terrible Marry My Husband thought.
Ji-won needs someone to steal her fate. With Su-min, she has the toxic abusive husband and murder covered, but she doesn’t have the cancer covered.
But Joo-ran is in a toxic marriage with a cold boss who is silently pining for her, and is getting so stressed she is starting to have stomach pain.
Please god don’t tell me Joo-ran is going to be the one who steals the “driven to cancer by abusive husband” fate.
