(random s5 finale musings) tbh I don't think Marinette chose to keep The Secrets™ from Adrien because Gabriel asked her to. I feel like Marinette keeping secrets like that is so consistent with her character; she hates giving people bad news, she hates rocking the boat, she hates upsetting people, she always chooses to keep any 'controversial' information to herself for as long as she can get away with (examples: bubbler scarf, telling Queen Bee she was benched, confessing to Adrien, warning Chat Noir about Scarabella or Rena Furtive, never told Chat Noir about Chat Blanc, etc) that I just totally believe she would've done it either way. She was even already having nightmares about Adrien hating her for finding out she defeated his father, so I feel like Gabriel's request was moreso giving her a go-ahead than it was a primary deciding factor, yknow?

Worn in the 19th and 20th century for weddings and other occasions by women across the Balkans and Anatolia, bindallı dresses were typically made of velvet in deep jewel tones. They were decorated with extensive gold embroidery of floral designs, which give this group of dresses their name, meaning thousand branches. This Ottoman-derived yet European-influenced style marked a transitional period between uses of traditional and modern western fashions.

The dresses - adopted from the surrounding culture as a fashionable item without any Jewish specificity - took on unique Jewish meaning through their use in the synagogue, where they became ark curtains, Torah mantles and binders, bimah covers, and the like, frequently with added dedicatory inscription. The donation of dresses and trousseau items by women to the synagogues created a personal bond between the women and the synagogue. The habit of donating these textiles to the synagogue endured long after the original embroidered bedclothes and dresses had gone out of fashion, and the transitional bindallı fashion thus remained alive in Sephardi synagogues long after the passing of the brides who wore the dresses.

Alright time for the "I am not ready for the circumstances that will lead to Apollo and Trucy finding out they're related" explanation (a day late but it's fine)

I am fully convinced that Thalassa's going to be murdered and the Wright Anything Agency is going to take the case. This would inevitably lead to Phoenix panicking, because "oh shit they never even met her after she got her memories of them back and HOW DO I EVEN EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT THEIR MOTHER WAS MURDERED" (assuming Trucy doesn't know Thalassa was alive in the first place) and when he does tell Trucy and Apollo they're siblings Apollo's freaking out because what the fuck and "what do you mean Trucy's my sister????" and Trucy's freaking out because "what do you mean she was alive and Apollo's related to me by blood???" which inevitably sends the WAA into chaos because Phoenix and Athena (presumably, because I am quite sure after finding out Thalassa's his mom Apollo would refuse to touch the case) are defending the person accused of killing Apollo and Trucy's mom (maybe if this does happen the investigation segments on this case switch between Trucy and Apollo's investigation and Phoenix and Athena's investigation because you can't convince me Apollo wouldn't pull a Dual Destinies with Trucy if this happened).

Alternatively, Phoenix is spending the entire case trying to keep Thalassa's identity a secret from both Trucy and Apollo by never mentioning the case's victim by name and ends up giving them both trust issues because that's not something he usually hides and THAT'S THEIR MOTHER (maybe we still get separate segments for a Trucy and Apollo investigation and a Phoenix and Athena investigation).

Why am I convinced this is what's going to happen when Trucy and Apollo find out they're siblings? Ace Attorney has a habit of orphaning characters by killing off parents and it's Ace Attorney, this feels like something that would actually happen in an Ace Attorney game. You can't tell me this doesn't feel like an official Ace Attorney plot line and I'd be genuinely surprised if Capcom doesn't at least go a similar route for Trucy and Apollo finding out they're siblings because Ace Attorney is just Like That. Also they already basically did this with Dhurke. I wouldn't be surprised if they do it again. I think I'd be more surprised if they don't actually

I still find it funny that people call eleven a "deadbeat husband" and their marriage "toxic" but twelve is the "perfect husband" and their marriage "wedded bliss" all because of the few moments we'd seen between 11 and River were them being "toxic". yes of course! let's ignore how the minisodes show how that description isn't true and even how little moments in the episodes themselves – "what? that's it?" (why haven't you kissed me goodbye? are you being sly on purpose so I'd kiss you first?) and "they wouldn't bury my wife out here" and the music room is the heart of the home and it's not a ghost story, it's a love story – show 11 cared and put in the work and yes, they're going to have disagreements like the ones in TATM because duh who doesn't but it does not mean it is the entirety of their relationship but people have taken it and made it the entirety of their relationship.

I can't stop thinking about the post from a few days ago about how Critical Role has been great at doing personal faith but didn't put the necessary work in to discuss the religious/god angle of c3 in-depth. Like the fact that Cardinal Respa was linked to both the Dawnfather and the Chained Oblivion is, on a personal level, very interesting (fallen/corrupted priest goes hard) but like does that mean that there's a Papacy somewhere in Exandria dedicated to the Dawnfather? If so, are there more cardinals who ordain the bishops of the Dawnfather? Are there Conclave-level intrigues going on in the Dawnfather's Sistine Chapel? Why is the Dawnfather so Christianity-coded in vibes alone if there's no actual outline of his religious organisations? With Downfall the Dawnchild/Dawnfather thing makes the allusions to Christ as Son of God co-existing with the Father textual - was there a Dawnfather Schism around whether the Dawnchild was a separate mortal? Was there a Reformation about how the Dawnfather's Pope kept selling indulgences? Is that why the priest of the Dawnfather Grog & Pike offer a drink to doesn't partake because of a cultural shift between Protestant-Temperance-League-coded and Catholic-coded Dawnfather congregations? Why do I have so many questions about the religious organisation of one of the most important Prime Deities in Exandria and to Critical Role's 3 campaigns? How on earth were the cast (and us as the viewers!) meant to care about the gods if all they had were "really tall kings" instead of interrogating how religious organisations provide both a place of healing and community to a wide range of people and also a place of horrific harm and abuse for a wide range of people?

You're at one of Barou's games, watching intently and cheering on for your hard-working and intensely focused man strutting fiercely throughout the vast field in between of his opponents. So lost in your supporting chants and cheers, you almost forget there were a group of girls standing right next to you doing the same...for him as well.

"Woo! you got this Barou!!"

"He's so hot! even the way he runs is so attractive!"

"Have you seen that back when he took off his shirt?!"

"He's sooo yummy! god I want to eat him up!"

Though, you consistently kept reminding yourself their little thirst spurts meant absolutely nothing to you, you couldn't help feel that bubbling fuel of infuriation and jealousy seep through your skin. Furrowed brows skimming over to the group of shameless, thirst quenching women gawking at your man.

So when the game finally came to it's end and you scour through the ocean of people through the parking lot in search for your winning, hunk of a boyfriend — you had spotted the same group of women that had drooled all over Barou from the midst of the crowd.

You run up to him, making sure you knew that they were watching and hungrily captured his salty plush lips with your own. Both hands cupping his heated face with a vice and your greedy tongue lunging down the back of his throat in a swift of a motion. Normally he would get too crudish and off-putted with your excessive PDA, but with how needy and insistent you were with your encouraged tongue, who was he to deny his bold queen of her assertive direct affections.

You turn slightly to grin victoriously, as you watch the group of girls faces drop into a mount of despair and defeat. Obvious linger of searing jealousy and disgust shrouding over their petty faces.

And after moments of a torrid, messy make out session in the sea of crowding bodies, you both part lips and inhale for a waft of needed air. Your fingers somehow finding themselves deep in the spiky dark tresses that laid upon his crown, tugging and weaving ever so intricately yet gently.

He glances down at you with perched brows, sweat still sticking along his golden skin. Both hands propped onto your hips, his personal bag lunged over his right broad shoulder.

"What was this all about woman? a congratulatory kiss or somethin'?" he retorts playfully, a matching smirk curling to his daunting tone.

You simply hum, utterly satisfied with the way the group of women had carried themselves defeatedly through the swarm of loitering and chattering people. His fingers sloping along your curves, noting your piercing, winning gaze leering ever so intently at the moping group of women. He rolls his eyes and elicits a deadpan chuckle, bringing your face back to meet his.

"So that kiss wasn't for me huh?" he confronts with a hint of lilt in his almost jealous tone, you gradually, smugly smile up at him. Draping your arms around his neck as you lean up onto your tip toes, fingers still lacing in between each damped raven strand.

"Of course it was 'Rou! I just needed to...prove a point" you toy witfully, he snorts to your remark, gazing back over to the muttering group of women still sharply peering over to you (at your back). Their demeanor changing immediately when they notice his gaze turn onto them, momentarily.

"Tch"

"How many times do I need to prove to you that you're literally the only person that I want?" he flattens his wide palm amongst the small of your back, pushing you up against his burly stature, lips fiercely pressing against yours in a heated frenzy. Lidded irises of sheer possessiveness and warning looming over to the same gasping group of women.

That should get the point across.

What did/do you like about Pharah?

Uh, gameplay-wise, I really love characters in shooters who rely on three-dimensional movement techs. Chaining together hover and jump to stay in the air for as long as possible and keep momentum is so satisfying, and picking enemies off from the sky made me feel like a bird of prey. I was a good Pharah main.

Story-wise, there unfortunately isn't much to canonically go off because Pharah is so underutilized and neglected. Her personality's pretty boilerplate "heroic hero" (she's literally inspired by Captain America).

But it's the crumbs/bits and pieces that I really latched onto. Pharah's a confirmed lesbian; her short story with Baptiste implies she harbors a crush on Mercy (fucking thank you.). She's biracial Egyptian/First Nations. She has major mommy issues, having grown up both admiring and resenting Ana. She's the bridge between Old Overwatch, inspired by the idealized heroes who surrounded her childhood, and New Overwatch. She's one of the only inter-generational characters in the cast; someone whose experiences span the gap, which is why I seriously believe Pharah would make a great main character.

There isn't much to go off of, though; she's a very uncomplicated character (she's a soldier for a private military corporation, lol.). But that just means she's a blank slate character, so I've seen fanfic writers run wild and create some really interesting takes on her. My favorite interpretation of her's a dense, herbo gym-bro type (a lot of her liens are about work outs, exercising, and playing sports) who's easily excitable under her seemingly self-serious, armored visage. We see how she tends to gloat and hype herself up when she's on a streak too, so Pharah definitely has a competitive and boastful side under her more professional and militant performance.

Now Mercy? Mercy is a real complex character.
