Hi!! Can you please do one where y/n has been feeling really sick but doesn’t tell lando about it bc he’s been stressed at work and stuff. She ends up kind of being antisocial and rotting in bed bc of her sickness and lando ends up suggesting a break since she doesn’t seem to suit his lifestyle anymore. Y/n ends up running into landos mom at the dr office for a checkup where she finds out she’s pregnant. She asks Cisca to keep it a secret but she ofc tells lando she saw y/n at the dr office. Ending however you want! Thank youuuu
changed slightly buuuuut i like it
Warnings: hospitals, vivi knowing nothing about hospitals

She was sick of everything. Not because she was literally sick of everything, but she was feeling hot and bothered, generally shitty, and her head fucking killed.
Everybody was pissing her off. Her co-workers, her boss. That random guy on the bus that was breathing just a little bit too loud. He noticed her glaring, but went right back to breathing just as loudly.
The minute she got into the apartment, she sagged. She checked the keys on the hook, except no keys were there. It was a little bit of a relief that her boyfriend wasn't home at that minute; there was no telling her close she would have been to snapping at him.
She crawled under the bedsheets, never to emerge again...
Except no because Lando wasn't going to let her rot in bed. When he got home that night, she explained it to him, explained that he was feeling so shitty. Immediately he'd gotten her pain killers, water, and toast.
After four days of her just rotting in their bed, Lando was sick of it. Well, not sick of it, but he was worried. Incredibly worried.
He sat by her bedside and brushed her hair away from her forehead. "I'm begging you to go to the hospital baby," he said and squeezed her hand. "Please."
She stared at him, looking positively grumpy. "I'm fine, Lan," she assured him as she sat up. "I'm gonna go into work tomorrow, I promise."
He released a sigh, but he trusted her. If she said she was fine, then she's fine.
"Keep me updated when I'm racing, please," he said and she agreed.
And she did go into work the next day, but she felt so fucking shitty. She had no choice but to go to the hospital.
Fucking hospitals, she hated them. Sitting there anxiously as she waited to be called into the doctors office. Her knee bounced and she kept her arms wrapped around her midsection, staring down at the floor.
But then she was called into the doctors office. Her steps were quicks as she rushed forward.
"Well, miss L/N," he said as he looked at the results from her bloodwork. "Congratulations, mom!" He pushed the results towards her.
With shaking hands, she picked up the paper and looked at it. Her information, stuff that was too much for her brain to read, and then the results. Yep, she was pregnant. "No," she whispered, shaking her head. "No. No, no, no."
Tears sprung to her eyes as she put the paper back onto the doctors desk. "I-I need to call my mother in law."
No, she couldn't call Lando. Not while he was racing, not while he was on the other side of the world. It would just worry him while he couldn't get to her. So, instead, she called her future mother in law.
Cisca Norris arrived at the hospital as soon as she could. She found her in the waiting room, where she had been stopping herself from freaking out. But her nails were digging into her palms, leaving little crescent shapes in her skin. "Oh, darling," Cisca said as she pulled her to her feet.
As soon as they got outside, she was in tears, barely able to keep herself standing. But Cisca got her into the car and calmed her down. She talked her through it, got her to the point where she was no longer crying.
"I think you should tell Lando," Cisca said, and she immediately shook her head.
"No, Cisca, I can't! I can't, I can't, I can't." It took everything in her to not break down into tears.
But Cisca just squeezed her hands. "You can do this." She waited for a confirming nod before she called Lando.
His voice came loud and clear through the car. "Hey mum," he said, seemingly without a care in the world.
She sucked in a breath. "Lan?" She squeezed.
"Baby?" He couldn't hide the concern in his voice.
Her entire body shook as she squeezed her eye shut. "Lando, you're gonna be a dad."
She was so quiet, it wasn't clear whether Lando had heard it or not. The slight pause he took didn't help. But then, "Holy shit! I'm gonna be a fucking dad! Let's go!"

Logan Howlett x reader with injury related memory loss
Word count: 4.7k
A/N: Inspired by @pandapetals’ memory loss fic (it's taken over all by thoughts since I read it) as well as the song We’ll Never Have Sex by Leith Ross. Sorry in advance, this is probably going to be a series, I was going to make it all one story but it’s already this long and I haven’t gotten to what I wanted to get to.
Warnings: a combination of angst and fluff, suggested feminine reader (called Logan’s wife, she/her used once) but no true descriptions, if you’re an English teacher you’ll hate this because I mix past and present tense verbs. Sorry if it bothers you, it’s my primary grammatical weakness.
The doctor’s words felt monotonous and cold. Logan looked to you. Your eyes trained on the doctor, your blanketed knees pulled up to your chest, your arms loosely held around them. You had been conscious for around 24 hours and he’d hardly seen you. Admittedly at your specific request, ‘your hovering around is making me kinda anxious’ were the exact words. The sting of the words stuck in his mind. The doctor told the two of you the state of your condition, monitoring and treatment outline, and the information needed to fill out the discharge papers. You would walk away mostly fine. You survived the accident, lucky you!
But you didn’t feel lucky. You felt frustrated and unsettled. Maybe even a little scared. You had woken up to a man you’d never seen whispering to you in your sleep, seemingly close to tears. When he noticed you awake he asked you questions you didn’t know the answers to and claimed to be your husband. You had never been married and given the fact that he looked as though he hadn’t showered or slept in days, this was obviously a psych patient who had wandered into your room. But it wasn’t. The doctors could confirm, according to the paperwork and pictures, you were this man’s wife. He’d continued to be around you, he clearly wanted to help in any way he could but you couldn’t handle the way he wouldn’t take his eyes off you.
You had few memories, almost none of them were recent. Not even memories of your own identity were intact. Dissociative amnesia they called it. The staff stressed, to both you and this Logan guy, that your memories needed to come back on their own, he shouldn’t just tell you memories. He was allowed to help fill in details or answer small questions but that’s it. They said the best thing you could do right now would be to go back to your routine. They told him to act normal towards you as much as possible. You didn’t even know what that would look like. It was weird being addressed as a unit. Talked to like he was ‘your other half’ or whatever people say.
“Here is the form. Either of you can fill it out, I’ll just need both of your signatures at the bottom.” The nurse’s words snap you back to reality. You nod and take the form. She checks your levels one last time before leaving you and the man alone in the room. You concentrate on the papers in front of you. You first take the pen off the clip board with your left hand then look at it confused. You stare a moment before shifting it to your right hand, then back to your left before just setting it down again and leaning over the small table as you breathe out slowly.
“You’re right handed.” The man said quietly.
You look over at him. He sits on your left side. His knees are wide apart as he leans his body forward resting his forearms on his thighs with his fingers interlaced. He was watching you struggle with the pen. You nod slowly and pick up the pen with your right hand this time. You adjust your hand to hold it properly. It feels no more comfortable than in your left but you had to start somewhere. Okay first blank, patient name. Easy enough. You write your first name, middle initial, and-
You stop in your tracks. If you’re married, you wouldn’t necessarily have the same last name that you remember. You sit and think for a moment, determined to figure it out but you keep drawing a blank. An owl was the only thing that came to your mind when you thought of your last name. You bit the inside of your cheek before you sighed frustratedly. You put the pen back on the clipboard and slid the small table towards the man.
“Can you do this?” He perked up at your words.
“Yes- of course”
A small smile showed on his face as he took the clipboard, apparently happy to help. He filled in the blanks quickly as if he didn’t even have to think about the answers. Jealousy and shame flowed into your chest. Jealous that this random man knows you better than you know yourself. Shameful because of the pressure you’re already putting on yourself. You’ve always been independent. You like it that way. You like being known as the girl who has a man because she wants one not because she needs something from one. But now, you have no choice but to put your entire trust in someone you don’t know. Trust that he was going to tell you the truth about yourself. Trust he was going to remember what meds you needed and when to take them. Trust he was going to keep you safe both from yourself and someone who might want to take advantage of your current situation. The vulnerability it took to ask for help was already wearing away at your self esteem.
“Think that’s it. I’ll go bring this to the-”
“Wait, can I look at it first” Your hesitation was evident by the little shake in your voice.
“Sure but I promise, I know most of this by heart. And the stuff I didn’t know I got a refresher for when I filled out your admission forms.” He said it, clearly trying to make conversation but it only made you feel worse. You scanned over the form. Your birthday was the only thing you remembered, aside from your name but you didn’t even remember all of that so it didn’t quite feel the same.
“Howlett” You read the name off the sheet. It felt strange to say, even more so to think it now belonged to you.
“Yeah, that’s our last name.” You nodded and handed the form back and buried your head in your knees.
“What’s wrong? Are you starting to feel worse again?” You took a pause before answering him. When you raised your head, his eyes met yours and he could see tears welling up in them.
“I don’t even know my own stupid name- or my dominant hand. I feel so useless.” Logan set the form back on the table and knelt at your bedside.
“Hey, you are not useless. You’re sick right now, don’t be too hard on yourself. I’m here and I’ll help you with anything you need. I promise. I can help fill in what you don’t know”
“Thanks.. I know you’re trying to make me feel better but knowing that you know all this and I don’t, really only makes me feel worse. This guy I don’t even know knows more about me than I do.” You could immediately see the pain on his face from your statement. Another reminder that he was included in the gaps that still needed to be filled in.
“It- It’ll come back to you. You’ll be back to yourself in no time.” He said as he stood up. It sounded like the statement was just as much to comfort him as it was to comfort you.
“I’ll be right back.” You nodded and he left the room with the clipboard.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
You changed into the clothes Logan brought you. When you were all set to leave, you were told about your follow up appointment and picked up your meds. The two of you left the hospital and walked to Logan’s truck in the parking lot. He opened the door for you and held out his arm behind you as you climbed in to ensure you wouldn’t fall. You took note of the sweet gesture. Once he got into the drivers side, he slung the backpack that had held your clothes and now held your collection of meds onto the backseat. The drive was silent for a while before you broke the ice.
“I can not believe I married a man who drives a truck.” You half-joked as your fingers played with the wedding ring you still wore.
He smiled a little sadly, both amused at your distaste for truck owners and saddened at the reminder that you didn’t remember the man you married. He swallowed down his sadness to joke with you.
“Yeah? And what kind of man would you marry?” His unexpected response made you blush.
“Well, I don’t know.. Honestly I haven’t given it much thought. I guess I’m just not the marriage type.” Logan laughed quietly.
“Yeah- I guess you’d know that already.”
“No, no. It’s not that. It’s just funny that you think you’re the one who wasn’t marriage material. Normally people think that about me, not you.”
“Don’t be close minded- maybe neither of us are marriage material! Maybe those are the kinds that marry each other. I doubt most of those relationships last long though..” You regretted the words as soon as you realized what you had said.
“I didn’t mean it like that, I’m sure we’re very happy.” You bit your lip and kept your eyes glued to your hands twiddling in your lap.
Logan didn’t know what to say so he opted to say nothing. The sound of the running engine and the wind outside the vehicle were the only sounds between you. Your thoughts were swarming in your mind. You turned your eyes to the window, trying to turn off your brain and just observe the unfamiliar scenery. Trees consumed the road on either side. You saw on the form that you lived in New York in some town you hadn’t heard of.
“So how far into the woods do we live?” You turn back towards him as you said it.
“Close enough to walk into town but far enough that we don’t see our neighbors unless we’re trying to.”
You nodded and made a sound of acknowledgement.
“That’s why you smell like pine?”
“Uh, I guess. Didn’t realize I did. I guess I’m just used to it.”
“That would make sense.” You lost interest in the conversation when you realized you had turned onto a side road. From the side road you went up a driveway.
He wasn’t kidding, if you didn’t know any better, you wouldn’t know there was anyone even remotely close. Trees seemed to swallow you whole as you approached the house.
“Look familiar?” He asked tentatively. You studied the outside of the house then the inside as you pulled into the garage. You wanted to say yes but in reality it looked entirely foreign.
“No, sorry.” You answered softly.
“That’s alright, I was just curious.” He tried to keep the longing sadness from his voice. He was not successful. He grabbed the backpack and left the truck. You followed him but your eyes couldn’t help traveling over the room. You stepped inside the house and mirrored Logan as he took off his boots and placed them behind the door.
He watched your movements as you hesitantly followed him. He smiled at the realization that you were almost acting like a puppy dog, eager to take in information and follow instructions but still tentative about both him and the surroundings.
“I should probably show you around,”
“Yes, please.”
It was a split level house. He showed you the basement first. The guest room, storage room, furnace room, a mostly unused living room. He explained small things about each room when necessary. As you headed back up the stairs you felt brave enough to ask more questions.
“So we live alone? Just the two of us?”
“Yeah, why?”
“No pets? No family? No transient friends that feel comfortable enough to invite themselves over when they need a place to stay? Nothing?” Your question made Logan visibly nervous. He now stood across from you as you stood at the top of the steps.
“Uh, no. Not really. Why?” His confusion was mixing with anxiety.
“No reason.”
“..Are you uncomfortable staying alone with me?” His expression looked sad but understanding.
“Oh no, not that. Well a little. But no, that’s not why I asked.” He was silent waiting for you to explain, which you did when the silence became too uncomfortable. You forced your eyes to stay on his when you finally spoke.
“I’m just worried about you. You’re dealing with a lot, you should be with other people. People who care about you and know how to take your mind off everything. I just don’t want you to burn yourself out trying to do all this alone.” Your words hit him like a train. You were the one who was sick and you still worried about him, even when he was a complete stranger to you. He looked like he could cry. He took a half step towards you before stopping himself,
“Can I hug you?”
You nodded as you took a step closer to him, embracing him. His large arms engulfed your shoulders. He held you close like you might spontaneously vanish if he didn’t anchor you to himself. Your arms came around to his upper back where you rubbed his back lightly, trying to comfort him. When your nails softly scratched against his shirt, his face nuzzled deeper into your neck. You couldn’t tell if he was crying or not. Not that you cared either way, you understood. You couldn’t even imagine what he was feeling. This large, strange, kind man had completely bent himself over backwards just to take care of you. The least you could do is try and comfort him. The two of you stood there for longer than either of you thought you would. He gave you one final squeeze before parting. He kept his hands on your shoulders for a second as he looked at you. He sniffed as he looked away and took a few steps back.
“Sorry.” His breathing was unsteady.
“Don’t be.” You shrugged. “You’re allowed to be sad. You’re kind of grieving, in a way.” Your words were meant to be comforting as much as forcing him to face the reality of the situation.
“Don’t say that, you’re going to remember. It just takes time.” There was a desperation in his voice. Like he was trying to convince you both.
“I know. I’m not saying I won’t. But right now, you’re living with someone who doesn’t know you.. The woman you know, the woman you love, is as good as dead. As of right now anyways.” He studied your face as you said it and nodded after you’d finished speaking. He bridged the gap between the two of you once more to press a kiss onto your forehead. He sighed but didn’t pull away from you when he spoke.
“Let me finish showing you around.” He whispered the words warmly against your skin.
“Okay.” You whispered in return.
As promised, he showed you the living room, kitchen, and dining area; all close together at the top of the steps. Down the hall there was a bathroom, an office, and finally your shared bedroom. He lets you walk into the room, he crosses his arms and leans against the doorframe. You cautiously walked around the room, taking everything in. The walls were a calm green that paired well with the browns and yellows of most other things in the room. On the nightstand closest to the door there was an assortment of crystals, papers, wire wrapped shells, chapstick, handwritten notes, bracelets sitting inside a teacup, a clock, and a pair of glasses. You turned back to Logan.
“This is my side of the bed?” He nodded. You opened the drawers of your nightstand. Books, sleeping meds, pen and paper, nothing of interest upon first glance. You walked over to the other side, glancing back at Logan, searching his face for permission to poke around. You couldn’t read his expression.
“Mind if I snoop?”
“Go ahead. It’s all stuff you’ve seen before.”
You tried to turn your full attention to his nightstand but you could see him move out of the corner of your eye. He entered what you assumed was the closet, which was currently behind you. Back to trying to learn about Logan through how he kept his things. His nightstand was less cluttered than yours. There was a notepad and pen, reading glasses, a clock matching yours, and three pictures of you. One was in a frame, one was a polaroid, and the last one was printed out, you’d guess from a digital camera. All pictures were in places you didn’t remember with people you didn’t recognize. You looked happy. The picture in a frame was from your wedding. Logan and you were all dressed up, looking at each other. Although it was clear the two of you were posing, your smiles seemed genuine. The other two were candids, laughing with friends in one while in the other your face held a look of recognition like someone took the photo right as you saw the camera. You were happy or relieved to see whoever was holding the camera. You guessed Logan himself based on your relationship and where you found the photo.
“Sorry,” He moved past you and set his phone on his nightstand.
“I’m going to go shower. You’re welcome to as well, I’ll shower downstairs so if you want to, the option is there. Or wait until later, I just don’t want to smell like the hospital anymore”
“Yeah I will probably take you up on that, where do I keep my clothes?”
He directed you to where you keep your pajamas as well as showing you to your half of the closet, pointing out where you keep underwear and socks.
“Let me know if you need anything.” You nodded and thanked him. He went downstairs. You felt like looking around some more. A bin of stuffed animals under your side of the bed. Saw the books on the shelves in the office. Check out the cupboards, familiarize yourself with where things belong. Out the kitchen window, the woods catch your eye. You feel a sudden urge to go walking in the wet grass. You look towards the lower level then back at the back door. You’d surely be back before he was out of the shower. You just needed to indulge this feeling. Then you’d come right back. It’s midday, it’s not like it is dangerous at this hour.
You step out onto the patio. You walked in the directions you felt pulled in. Following some imaginary trail, bare feet sinking into the puddles in the grass. It had been an especially wet April and the heavy clouds overhead suggested tonight would follow the trend. You found a hammock in a small clearing not far from the house. You sat upright on it, like a swing. You crossed your ankles and leaned forward, palms placed beside your knees, pressing onto the fabric beneath you. The silence felt comfortable. You relaxed more than you had been in recent days. The silence allowed your mind to wander through your thoughts just as you had through the trees. The calm around you soon contrasted with the spiraling thoughts that took over your mind. It didn't feel like you had forgotten anything but logically, you knew years had passed since the last things you remember. Logically you knew Logan had to know you intimately and clearly cared deeply for you but, you didn't know how to make yourself return his feelings. There was guilt in not being who you were apparently supposed to be. You hated the pained look in his eyes he when stared at you. The hot tears that rolled down your face contrasted with the cool air around you. Your face hung down and your eyes traced the ground through blurred vision. You felt like you had been sitting here for hours. Your thoughts drowned out the once comfortable silence and along with it, Logan's panicked voice in the distance. He stumbled into the clearing.
"Jesus-” He huffed, catching his breath. “Don't run off like that. What the hell are you doing out here? How did you know where this was? Did you remember something?"
His rapid fire questions and loud voice were overwhelming.
"N-no, I don't know. I just felt like this is where I should go. I didn't mean to worry you- please don't yell at me" your plea took him by surprise as he realized his worry made him louder than he intended. He took a quick step towards you and you unconsciously flinched. He took care to make the last steps toward you slower before he crouched down so he was looking up at you. There was a gentleness that now replaced the panic in his voice.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.. I didn't know where you were or what happened. I just- you're not yourself right now, even if you had your memories, you still have a brain injury. I just don't want you to get lost. At least if you're going to go exploring, leave a note?"
You nodded and wiped away tears from your face.
"Do you want me to leave you alone out here for a while?"
"No, I'll come in with you.. I really don't know why I came out here, it just felt like I should. I don't know why." You still tried to explain yourself as you got up from your spot. Logan stood up and started leading towards the house.
"Maybe subconsciously you remember coming out here."
"Maybe.. I don't know why I would. It's not exactly nice out."
"You didn't just go when it was nice, you like being out there when you feel upset. Sometimes if we have a fight you'll go sit out there for a while. Sometimes you're upset with someone else and you drag me out there with you and tell me about it. You just don't like bringing that stuff home."
"Oh. Am I out there a lot?"
"No, not really. Sometimes you have a bad week and you'll be out a few days in a row but that's not very common. Just once in a blue moon, as you'd say." He smiles at the memory as he opens the door for you. You step in and dry your feet on the mat. He takes off his shoes and carries them to the front door. As he walked off you noticed his hair was wet and a t-shirt and plaid pajama pants had replaced his flannel and jeans from the hospital. You could really see how muscular he was through his shirt that hugged him tighter than the flannel did.
“You look better than you did at the hospital.”
“Hm? Oh, thanks.”
“Don't get me wrong you pull off the disheveled look but now you look better, like people wouldn't worry about you if they saw you like this.”
“Not sure that's the compliment you think it is.” He smiled as he said it.
“I'm aware. Still felt like you should hear it.”
“Whatever you say. Do you still want to shower now or do you want to wait until later tonight?”
“No, I'll just get in now.”
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
You leaned your face towards the bottle of the more feminine looking soap, assuming it was yours, trying to use it as an olfactory trigger. It didn’t work. You got out of the shower and dried your hair in front of the mirror and something caught your eye. Your skin carried stories in the form of deep scars that decorated your body. Old bullet wounds and healed cuts lied among the new gashes and scratches from your accident. You ran your hands over some of the small lines of scar tissue, unsure if you wanted to know the stories they had to tell. You rewrapped your bandages. The bandages and cuts from your accident made you glad to have such baggy pajamas.
You left the bathroom after getting dressed and found Logan laying on your side of the bed, staring at the ceiling. He sat up when you came into the room, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed.
“Oh, hey- Sorry I know this is your side, I just-” He stumbled over his words while trying to justify his actions but you cut him off.
“You don’t need to explain, it’s alright.” You gave him a small, tight-lipped smile. The kind you’d give a stranger who held a door for you.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
You spend the rest of the evening on the couch, doodling next to Logan as he reads some papers. Neither of you spoke. Eventually it came time for you to go to bed, forcing the two of you into conversation.
“I can sleep in the guest room, if you’d be more comfortable that way.” He offered as he walked you to the bedroom.
“That’s all the way downstairs, right?” You looked up at him as you sat on the bed.
“Yes.”
“Then no..” You paused after saying it.
“I can stay up here on the couch if you want me to be closer. Whatever you want.”
You shook your head adamantly. “Not whatever I want, I’m not going to kick you out of your own bed.”
“Baby, I would be happy as a clam at high tide just sleeping on the floor at the foot of our bed.” The way the pet name so easily left his lips made you blush.
“W-well- you can be just as happy sleeping in your own bed.” He sighed in defeat before nodding.
“Alright. I can do that.” He shut the door behind him as he walked into the room.
“Given your apprehension to stay in the same bed, I assume it goes without saying but, I still don’t know you.. For you, you’re sleeping next to your wife but for me, I’m sleeping next to this man I met yesterday.. I just..” You trailed off.
“I’ll stay on my side of the bed, no problem.” He finished your thought casually.
“Thanks..”
“Of course, I just want you to feel comfortable and safe in your own home.”
“That.. means a lot. Thank you Logan.” He nodded before shutting off the lamp on his side of the bed.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
It wasn’t a particularly cold night but you still felt a chill creep over your skin under the blankets. To your memory, you had slept alone most nights so this was what you were used to. So why did you feel more alone than ever with Logan less than a foot away? You could feel the heat ghosting off his skin even from where you laid. The loneliness sank into your chest making you feel colder than you actually were. You mentally fought yourself, it was only a few hours ago that you were telling him not to touch you and now you were considering asking him to put his arm around you? Talk about mixed messages. What if he was the type of guy to take approval to cross one boundary as approval to do whatever he wanted? What if he thought this meant you had your memories again? What if-
Your thoughts were cut off by the sound of Logan sighing quietly as he rolled over and shifted to get comfortable. He was awake. If you were going to ask, now would be the best time, right? You gathered your courage before you spoke.
“Logan?” You asked barely at a whisper.
“Hm?” His sleepy reply made you feel guilty for bothering him.
“Could you- .. I mean if you wanted to you could- you don’t have to but.. Um. Would you put your arm around me?”
“You want me to hold you?”
“I mean.. Only if you want to. I just- It’s cold over here and I can feel the heat coming off of you and I- .. I just feel so lonely for some reason.” Your voice dropped even quieter as you ended your statement.
“Yes, of course I will. Tell me if I do anything you don’t like; you’re allowed to push me back over to my side, alright?” You nodded as he pulled you into his broad chest. He felt warm and comforting. He kept his hand innocently at your abdomen. The two of you both slept the best you had all week. Tangled together like lovers.

Knock knock…
“Hello, I’m sorry if I’m intruding but I wanted to introduce myself, me and my family just moved in next door and I wanted to introduce ourselves.” Your mother said as she stood at her neighbors door, you hid timidly behind her leg as she spoke to a Hispanic woman with curly dark hair. Your eyes wandered around her living room, or at least as much as you could catch from your spot. Not paying any mind to the conversation they were having when your eyes spotted a young boy around your age, about five or so walking past with a few legos in hand.
Your shyness was quickly overtaken with curiosity as you went to pull on your mother’s hand, she must have been watching you stare at the brunette, because before you could even turn up to ask her if you could go play, she was already shooing you in the direction of him as her and the other lady went to go talk over coffee in the kitchen.
He didn’t glance up at you as you sat down in front of his spot on the living room floor, being too preoccupied on the Star Wars set he was working on.
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
“My name’s (Y/N).”
“Cool.”
“What’s your name?”
“Miguel.”
You paused, shifting to sit down better before speaking again.
“Can I help? I love legos.”
He stayed quiet, and for a second you think he’ll say no, until he shrugged and moved the instruction book so you both could read it, making your lips come up in a smile.
“Sure.”
“You can teach me to play street fighter a million times and I will never understand it.” You huffed as you dropped the controller on your lap and leaned back on the couch, the tv in his living room sounded out a “finish her” as Miguel’s character killed yours, you couldn’t even be bothered to remember the names, peeved off that’d he beat you for the upteenth time, him not even having the courtesy to let you win one round.
“I’m not gonna be sorry for you being bad.” He retorted in a teasing tone, sticking out his tongue at you, and blew a raspberry. Your arms quickly crossover your chest as you puff your cheeks out with a pout.
“You’re so mean to me Miguel, I hate you.” You mumbled the half-lie to the other ten year old, looking away as you felt your cheeks heat with embarrassment, you didn’t even notice his movements until you felt him grab for your hand, turning your head to realize he was now standing in front of your spot on the couch.
“You don’t hate me, I’m your best friend.” He states, making you nod your head in confirmation after a beat, “Good. Because you’re my best friend too.” You smiled.
“Can we play something else then?”
“Nope.”
“Ughhh.”
“(Y/N), it’s your turn to spin the bottle.” Mj’s voice snapped you out of your head, suddenly aware of all the other fourteen years olds turning to stare at you. Was it a bit embarrassing you were about to lose your first kiss in a game of spin the bottle?
Half-dried nail-polished fingers gently grabbed the base of the empty Coke bottle, praying to god no one saw the way your hand trembled slightly, as you gave it a good twist. As your eyes tracked the blur of clear glass, you got your lower lip, silently hoping it was someone who you wouldn’t fluster up in embarrassment when you had to tell them who was your first kiss in the four walls of the lunch room. Like Kyle, or Ben or-
“Oooo- you got Miguel!” One of the other girls giggled as your eyes shot up to where the tip was pointing and surely, there he sat in front of you. Miguel was good…yeah, great even! You trusted him, he was your best friend since you were practically in dippers…So with a fine silent look of confirmation, you crossed the circle, closing your eyes as your lips connected for the first time.
Is it normal for your heart to skip a beat during a kiss? God how red is my face right now? Have I been holding it for too long? I wonder if he’s enjoying it, he hasn’t pulled away so that’s a good sign right? I should probably stop now. It's been like four seconds.
You finally pull away, sitting down on your knees as you bring a hand up to wipe some excess saliva away from the cover of your mouth. The sound of the next person going to spin the bottle muffles out around you as you focus on the weird flutter in your stomach.
“SLOW DOWN MIG-YOU’RE DRIVING LIKE A MANIAC!” You yelled as your left hand flew to grab at your seat belt, right hand gripping the overhead handle so hard your knuckles were turning white, pushing yourself as much as you could into the passenger seat at you could while he just let out an eye roll and chuckle as you were being dramatic (you weren’t).
“I’m not taking driving advice from someone who doesn’t have their license yet.”
“You got your license yesterday! I don’t turn sixteen for another four months!”
“Don’t care, you could ever shut up or take the bus.”
You couldn’t respond right away because another scream came from your throat as he turned a corner.
“If I die in this stupid car, I’m going to haunt the shit out of you O’Hara!”
“I’m not gonna let you die, stop being dramatic.” He scoffed, finally pulling up to the school parking lot, finally slowing down as he looked for a place to park. His arm comes around the back of your car seat as he goes to backwards park in an empty spot. “See I didn’t let you die.”
“I’m actually traumatized…” You muttered, eyes still wide as you kept still in your seat. Miguel let out a huff and he goes to take your seatbelt off once the car was shut off.
“If I buy you some subway during lunch will you stop complaining?”
“…yes.”
“Maybe I could just take a gap year-or-or go to the community college nearby, just until I can transfer, then I can try for Columbia again?” You kept fumbling your words, looking at the rejection letter in your hands. If you tried to focus on it enough, you’d be able to hear the paper shaking lightly in your hands. Glossy eyes trying to rapidly blink away tears before they fell on the paper. Miguel quickly shook his head as he placed his coffee cup down on the table of the cafe you two would frequent.
“No. Not happening, I’ll just reject my application and we can go to Stanford together in California.” He told you, making you copy his actions as you placed the paper down next to your other University letters.
“Are you crazy? That’s your dream school! I am not letting you do that for me. I’d never forgive myself for that.” You admitted, looking at him in those familiar brown eyes, praying to god yours weren’t growing bloodshot from the emotional moment between you both. Miguel letting out a heavy sigh, his hand going to run through his pushed back brown locks as he looked down at his letters again. The silence that grew over you two was almost suffocating, a thing it never felt like around him. It made your heart ache, trying to keep back a whine and some tears as you closed your eyes and took in a shaky breath before opening them again and finally breaking the silence between you both. “I mean…FaceTime is a thing right?” Miguel raised a brow at your sentence, before it clicked in his mind what you were implying. Quickly shaking his head, his hand coming up to stop you.
“No. No. I can’t even go a week without seeing you, I’ve lived next door to you for thirteen years and you expect me to be okay with us being two thousand miles away from each other!?” You glanced around you when Miguel raised his voice slightly, luckily other than you and the owner the place was practically barren.
“Mig, we’ll figure it out! We’ll call and text, FaceTime, and I’ll come back for breaks! And besides, you don’t strike me as a type to enjoy California.” You attempted to lighten the mood, thankfully being met with an amused grunt and his lip twitching up slightly.
“Fine… just, promise we aren’t going to end up like all those friends who stop talking because we’re going to separate college’s alright?”
Your smile grew. “I promise.”
Ring…
Ring…
Rin- “Hey it’s Miguel,” your ears perked up, quickly scrambling up from your position on your bunk bed, where you were laying on your stomach, “I can’t come to the phone right now, leave me a message.” Beep.
“Hey Miguel… just wanted to see how you were, I finished my exams for the semester, and I’m going back to Neuva York tomorrow. I wanted to see if you’d want to hang out during the break, let me know… bye…” You mumbled before you hung up the call, tossing your phone on the other side of your bed. Running your hands through your head, letting out a heavy sigh. Closing your eyes to keep any forming tears of frustration from spilling out.
You and Miguel weren’t as close as you’d like to be anymore. How did a few months apart completely unwind the tight knit threat that had kept you both close for years? It had started out well, you did good at keeping your side of the promise and he did as well. Texting every hour, FaceTiming him every weekend, calling every night while you both studied, it almost felt like nothing had changed.
Then, classes became harder, you’d both start to develop new friends, new routines. The text became less frequent, now lagging to every few days, FaceTime sessions were now non-existent and your daily calls now became monthly, never lasting more than half an hour. You hated how you two were growing apart, and it hurt to see that Miguel didn’t seem to care. You didn’t have to see him in person to notice his new friend group was starting to change his personality. He was starting to seem more stoic, dry, it almost seemed like he was constantly agitated or something of the sort when you finally would get a hold of him. Still… despite the gradual change he seemed to be going through you still had hope that deep down he was still the same old Miguel you had grown to love and cherish. And that spark of hope only grew when you heard the faint buzz of your phone from the foot of your bed, quickly grabbing it to read a new message.
Text me when you get in tomorrow.
This was not what you had in mind.
Somehow Miguel had convinced you to go to some random bar that didn’t ID with him and his college buddies. “I’ll be fun” he said, “you’ll love them” he said. Now here you were forced to listen to some snobby trust fund kid bitch and moan about how he had to inherit his father’s company and blah blah blah. You weren’t even paying attention anyways, his words were going into one ear and flying out the other, opting to sip on your mixed drink to help keep you from banging your head into the bar counter. Tonight had simply e been the worst. Not to mention Miguel had been acting… different.
Maybe he just wasn’t good with distance, but it still struck you as odd how the second you were both finally in close proximity it was almost as if nothing had happened, like your friendship with each other wasnt badly strained for weeks on end. It didn’t stop there though, no no no. Because now that you were with him in front of his new friends and all dolled up he had been more… touchy, and not in a way he had been before.
A hand on your thigh, an arm around your waist, a finger idly twisting and twirling your hair. It was so… intimate… like he wanted them to think there was something there that was more than just a childhood friend. You couldn’t say that you hated it, it was just unexpected.
“Hey… let’s get out of here?” Miguel’s whisper snapped you out from your thoughts. The way his voice murmured lowly against your shoulder as he all but rubbed against it like a cat making your cheeks flare up and a shiver ran down your back. Quickly ignoring the feeling of the spike in your heart rate and the wetness growing in your panties, nodding as you go to stand up, not wanting to be in the over cramped bar any longer and just waiting to head back to Miguel’s place since you were staying there for a week. Feeling like your knees were going to give out from underneath you when he slid his large hand from between your shoulder blades and upwards to squeeze your right shoulder.
Not sure if your hazy mind was from the alcohol or from his actions anymore. Not sure if things would go back to how they were before you’d left when he went to leave sloppy wet kisses on your neck as soon as his apartment door was closed and locked. Not sure if you could look at him the same way after he made you see stars from the comfort of his sheets. Still you couldn’t stop. It felt too good, he felt too good.
“Fuck- felt so fucking good…” He hissed as he pulled out from between your legs, taking a moment to let himself to catch his breath before rolling the condom off and tossing it in the trash can. You didn’t respond, still out of it from the aftermath of experiencing nirvana in the form of drunk sex. Letting out a sigh as you turned to your side and closed your eyes as drowsiness starts to seep into your bones. Feeling the other side of the bed dip before a strong arm came around to hug your waist.
“…Miguel?”
“Yeah?”
“This… was a one time thing right?”
A pause, a heavy sigh before you felt his soft lips kiss the nape of your neck.
“… of course.”
A flash of light shined through the darkness of your studio apartment. You didn’t even need to check the notification screen in order to know who it was. Only one person would text you at two in the morning.
Come over?
If you told your high school self that the only time you ever saw Miguel was in the deeps of night while you were tangled in his sheets, she would have thought you were lying. The most fucked up part was that it was starting to affect you mentally, how your best friend had turned into a booty call because of one night from a drunk fuck seven years ago, it was painfully obvious you’d never get to the point where you’d be able to go back to the way you both once were. You couldn’t help but cling to the last broken bits he was willing to give you though. So every time he calls or texts you at random hours of the night since you’ve moved back to Nueva York, you’d show up at his doorstep like you are now.
“I know it’s late, I'm sorry, these Master exams are kicking my ass.” He apologized while letting you in after a few seconds. Closing and locking the front door before gently pushing you against it, his lips already finding their usual spot against the crook of your neck. Calloused hands began to slip underneath the baggy material of your hoodie, his large fingers gently grazing the exposed skin, you’ve learned to stop wearing shirts to these sessions a long time ago. “Need to blow off some steam…”
“Miguel…”The way you’d breathe out his name always made him feel like he had died and gone to heaven, your hands wandering upwards against the black fabric of his tank top. His lips separated from the blossoming red and purple mark they left in their wake so he can pull your jacket off before stripping off his own shirt. Your arms quickly wrap around his neck, any guilt that had been lingering in your mind quickly melted away when his hands ran down to your hips underneath your waistband, thumb fidgeting with the thin fabric of your panties. “Need you-“
“Need you too Cariño.” He muttered before going to place a gentle peck against the edge of your lips, you couldn’t help but let out a small whimper at the movement. You’ve noticed he never kisses you directly on your lips, always on the edge, on your neck or cheek. You would have felt your heart ache if the feeling of your core throbbing when his hand dragged your bottoms down to squeeze your ass wasn’t more overwhelming, lifting you up to wrap your legs around his waist.
Half of the time you two didn’t even make it to the bedroom, finding a spot on the hallway wall or against the kitchen counter. This was one of those times, he stumbled over to the couch, too distracted on leaving hickies all over your chest and dipping his fingers into your wet cunt. You let out a gasp when you landed on the brown leather rather harshly, making the couch move a few inches from its original spot due to the weight of both of your bodies hastily climbing on top of it. He made quick work to strip the rest of your clothes from both of your bodies once he made sure you hadn’t accidentally hit your head. Quickly slipping a condom before lining himself up.
“Fuuuuck-fuck…” He groaned, as he pushed the tip of his cock between your folds. Your mouth falls open in a silent scream from the deliciously painful stretch that he always provides. Giving you a second to adjust to his length and girth before pulling out and slamming his hips against yours, each thrust making your silent whimpers and whines turn into pornographic moans and incoherent babblings. “Love filling you up. You love this cock don’t you?” He taunts, it was so cruel the way the words fell from his mouth but you loved it nonetheless. Nodding rapidly as you gushed around him for the first time tonight.
“Nah uh… need to heard you say it. Use your words.” He smirks, enjoying the plop plop sound that started to quietly reverberate off the walls of his living room. Glancing down momentarily to watch a thin layer of cum that was forming a ring around the base of his cock. “Tell me how much you love it.” He urged.
“Fuck-fuck… love it so much.” You moaned, overstimulated from your orgasm, squirming underneath him just the way he liked. He couldn’t help the way his ego swells at the way you feel apart for him.
“Don’t know what I’d do without you.” He cooed as he propped your leg over his shoulder to get a better angle, his sweet words always messed with your foggy mind. “Such a sweet little thing, all for me.”
“Don’t-don’t say that Mig.” You whined, head turning to the side, as your hand dropped from his chest to drop off the couch. His right hand quickly leaves your hip and runs up to your neck, keeping his grip light as he props your head back to face him with his index finger.
“Aww poor baby, can’t handle when I talk all sweet to her, huh?” He let out an airy half chuckle. Despite the honey-like toned he’d use, the underlying taunt was always present. “Let me make it up to you baby.”
Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as he thrust deeper into your core, making your hips subconsciously jump up to meet his.
“Mig-Miguel, I’m so-so close.” You whimpered and whined, clenching around his length, his hips stuttering slightly as you felt the heat building in your lower belly start to grow with each thrust.
“Cum with me baby… Cum all over this cock.” He groaned.
“Fuck-Fuck.” With one final thrust, you finally came undone around him, his name falling from your lips over and over like a mantra. Miguel followed suit, stopping his thrust while fully inside your cunt, letting out a deep groan as he came.
“Shit… You okay?” He asked once he was able to collect himself enough, climbing off top of you before rolling the used condom off his softing member, picking up his forgotten boxers and placing them back on.
“Mhm…” You nodded, trying to stabilize yourself on shaky arms and legs. Miguel seemed to have noticed, picking up your clothes from the floor and making his way over to hand them to you.
“Let me get you some water.” He said before retreating to his kitchen. The only sound in the air now was the faint noises of him rustling around his cabinets, and the quiet shuffling of clothes. Hating the feeling of putting your legging and hoodie back on due to the thin layer of sweat still on your skin. Once you were decent enough Miguel came back with a glass of water and handed it to you. Mumbling a “thank you” before taking a sip. Miguel cleared his throat as he sat down on the other edge of the couch, eyes cast down, hands rubbing anxiously together, finally deciding to break the steadily growing awkward silence. “Look, (Y/N), I wanted to talk to you about something… something kinda important.”
You raised a brow, noticing the sudden change in his behavior, taking another quick sip before placing the half empty glass on his coffee table. “What’s up?”
He released a heavy sigh as he brought a hand up to scratch the back of his neck, still not making eye contact as he continued. “I’m not sure how to say this, so I’ll just put it out there…” He finally brought his gaze up to meet yours, “We need to stop seeing each other.”
Huh?
“I’m sorry what?” The words came out of your mouth before you could stop, your face quickly filling up with confusion and a bit of disbelief as you stood up. Miguel follows your actions as he puts his hands up in defense, but you continue before he could try explaining. “You can’t just fuck me on your couch then tell me afterwards we need to stop. You know how much of an asshole you sound?”
“I know, I know it makes me sound like an asshole.” He tried to reason with you, going to finally put on his shorts and tank top that were still on the floor. Not feeling like being half-naked during this conversation. “Look, there’s this girl I’ve been seeing and it’s getting pretty serious-“
“A girl you’ve been seeing?” You repeated in disbelief. “You can’t be for real.”
“Well, we never agreed to be exclusive. It’s not like we were going to start dating or anything.”
Ouch.
You had to turn away so they didn’t see the tears building in the corner of your eyes, but even with your face hidden your body language gave you away.
“I know we weren’t exclusive but fuck Miguel.” You shake your head, going to make your way to the door. “I’ve known you since we were five and you’re just gonna throw me away like some old toy?!”
“Hey-no. That’s not-that’s not what I mean, you know that.” He takes a step forward, grabbing your arm before you could get too far. “We can’t sleep together anymore, but we can still be friends.” You couldn’t help the scoff that left your lips, finally gathering yourself enough to pull your arm away and face him again, not caring if he saw the tears cascading down your cheeks. He’s made you cry one too many times, it’s about time he saw what he did to you. “We can still be friends! You’re still my best friend (Y/N)!” He couldn’t help but let his voice come out in more of a panic, a bit more rushed. You quickly shook your head.
“No. No, we aren’t best friends anymore Miguel, we haven’t been in a long, long time. I know that, you know that. So don’t pretend like we are just because your afraid of losing your emotional support fuck buddy.” You finally head toward the door and towards your car in the driveway, not turning to face him as you hear him call your name. “Don’t call me, don’t text me. If you're as serious about this girl as you say you are, you’d do the right thing and block me. Because I’m so tired of waiting around and pretending like one day you’ll wake up and realize I’m in love with you.”
You froze once the words came out, hand still on the car door handle as you came to the realization you finally admitted the secret you’ve been holding for the past ten years. Your free hand going to cover your mouth as you finally turn to look at Miguel, the look of shock from the confession was evident. You shook your head as you attempted to back track.
“Wait, Miguel I didn’t mean to tell you that-it just happened-“
“… You should leave.” His voice suddenly became stoic, his face hardening so it was hard to read his emotions. “This is just helping my case. Leave.” The tears flowed harder down your face as he slammed the front door shut. Leaving you to sob into the emptiness of the night as you finally let all the pain from the last seven years catch up to you.
You weren’t surprised to see your text bubbles turn green the next morning.
“I really think this one is it.”
“Me too!”
“He’ll love you in that dress.”
“Aww I can already see the waterworks.”
All you could do was smile, your hands repeatedly smooth non-existent wrinkles as you looked at yourself in the mirror, you looked like a real life princess. After what felt like hours you finally found the wedding dress. You couldn’t be happier.
“Alright Miss future Osborn.” Your maid of honor squealed, finally getting your attention, “You need to get out of that dress, you need to meet up Harry to look over the venue.”
You sighed, as you turned back to admire the white wedding dress one more time. “You’re right, I don’t wanna keep him waiting just cause I can’t stop staring at myself.” You giggled, before heaving to the back.
You and Harry have been dating for four years now, and he had proposed last month during your anniversary. You couldn’t be happier, he treats you like a queen, better than any other Man you’ve ever been in romantic contact with.
Once you had finally finished changing out of your regular clothes, you grabbed your phone out of your purse. Sending a quick text telling him that you found a dress, before doing a quick check on insta, wanting to look at the engagement pictures you posted on your page last week. But the soft smile on your face quickly dropped, like your heart did to your stomach when you checked your activity page.

Miguel can feel your heart-eyes on him. You're sitting behind him on the floor in his office, or, as you've fondly nick-named it this week, The Control Room, humming and making little origami flowers.
So far you've made five, promising him without prompting a multi-coloured bouquet. He doesn't know why you've stopped (or why you started), but he doesn't have to turn around to confirm it. He can tell. You're shameless either way, proven when you say, "Hey, handsome?"
He sighs with more annoyance than he feels. "What?"
"How'd you know I was talking to you?" you ask, with a laugh he loves and hates at once. Loves, because it's a really nice sound, and hates, because he knows how this goes. "I could've been talking to Margo."
"She is handsome," Lyla chimes in.
"Very much," you agree.
Margo, alias Spider-Byte, looks up from her tablet screen to flash a smile. "Thanks, guys."
"What did you want, then?" Miguel asks.
He's surrounded by girls who live to annoy him —they all laugh as though they know something he doesn't, and when he turns to glare at them they laugh more. Lyla zips out of his eyeline, disappearing from view with a sympathetic, "He's dumber than he looks."
"Hurtful," Miguel says, turning back to his screen. "Why do I bother?"
You stand up with your bundle of paper flowers crinkling in your hands and approach him. You're of normal height, while Miguel is of 'ridiculous' height (your word choice), and so you have trouble looking him in the eye when you stand close. You have more trouble keeping your distance, craning your neck all the way up with your rubber capped shoes to his spidersuit ones.
"Can you lean down a bit, please?" you ask.
Margo laughs, “Oh, here we go.”
Miguel has trouble saying no to you. And by trouble, he means he finds it impossible, and he hasn't done it in a while. He leans down very slightly, worried you're going to try and kiss him in front of the others. He's kissed you already (which he hates himself for, what a stupid thing to do) (but was a good kiss, as things go, your lips soft under his, his ardency undulating in the face of your little gasping sound when he'd bitten your lip, when he'd grasped at your side like you were slipping through his fingers), and you've kissed him. But never in front of other people.
Which isn't to say they don't know. Everyone definitely knows. They're just too scared or too kind to say. Or, like Lyla or Margo, they find it funny.
Now in reach, you lift an origami flower to his ear and attempt to prop it there. He has a flash of a memory, a small hand by his face, the summer sun on his neck, and he can't deal with it. He grabs your wrist and pushes it away from him.
Your eyes widen. You're not unused to his bad moods, but Miguel doesn't grab.
You look back, and he thinks it's because you're scared, and he wishes he could take it back straight away, but you're looking for Margo and Lyla. When you see they aren't there, you take his face into your empty hand and ask, "What's wrong?"
Miguel doesn't answer. He doesn't know what to say. Sorry would be a good start, but his mouth is dry. He frowns down at you.
"I didn't mean to overstep," you say, uncharacteristically serious.
"I didn't mean to grab you," he says.
"I know. It wasn't so aggressive, anyways. I'm genetically enhanced, you know?" Your smile creases the delicate skin at the corners of your eyes. "I'll make you something else. A fan, for the heat, or a jumping frog."
You turn and take a step away. Again, Miguel reaches for you, but when he takes your wrist this time it's with the kindness you deserve.
"I'm sorry, cariño," he says.
He’s embarrassed for having pushed you away, even if he couldn’t control himself. All you were trying to do no doubt was make him happy. It's usually your main prerogative besides winding him up, and he can't find any ill will in a paper flower.
"Cariño," you quote in a murmur. It doesn't take a second for you to return to your smiley, loving self. "That's definitely something nice."
"It's affectionate." He doesn't explain more than that.
You force your hand into his, twirling inward like a half-hearted dance. "I can tell," you say giddily, dropping your cheek into his chest.
He rubs the back of your hand. Sorry, sorry, it says, each pass of his thumb against your skin.
"Miguel," you say, in the lilting cadence of a girl with a favour to ask, "now you've ragged me around–"
"Not what happened–"
"–I was thinking maybe I could do something to you." You smile cheekily around your words.
He sweeps his gaze across the office to make sure there's no one here with you both, or about to be. Complicated you may be, but Miguel knows you well. Better than he should. He spent a long time denying his feelings for you, aggrieved and guilty, and a longer amount of time resenting you for being so damned enchanting. Which wasn't your fault in reality —you're a weird creature, and you can be a little off-putting; it's Miguel's problem alone that he wants you as badly as he does. To feel your neat, teasing smirk under his lips. To have the line of your jaw against his hand as you whisper flirtation or laugh at your own awful jokes.
To take your hip into his grasp and squeeze.
There have been times where Miguel wanted to press you up against a wall and kiss you into silence, quieten your taunting teasing with a bite to match his bark. And there have been times where he wanted to rub the tense line between your shoulders, having caught you in a vulnerable moment, and promise that things will be better.
He isn't making any more promises, not in this life, but he thinks that someone like you, who tries too hard to make people happy and sometimes wears two masks at once deserves to do whatever it is they want to do to people like him.
"Okay," he says quietly. His voice is rough as hewn stone.
You have a pocket full of paper stars that crunch as you lean in. "I'm gonna kiss you, if you promise not not to freak out. Is that cool?"
Okay, you deserve some softness, but Miguel would rather lead. Your hand falls to his chest, and his hands find your face. His fingers behind your ears, his thumbs aligned with your smile, he squeezes your cheeks in his hold gently, tilting your chin up, and up. The column of your throat is bared and begging to be scandalised. He can imagine it, the bruising his lips would leave behind like crescent moons and the pinprick crimson stars from his needling fangs if he were to only press down.
"We'll compromise. I'll kiss you, and you'll let me apologise again."
"I don't need you to say sorry again," you say softly.
"Then I won't say it."
The implication has heat rising to your cheeks. Your hand grabs uselessly at his suit as you close your eyes, and Miguel knows his cue. He leans down and kisses you, tender but a little rough, your lips soft and warm and eager as he encourages your head to one side. It feels like you try to say something but you don't move back, and so he doesn't either, kissing and kissing and kissing until he's sure he'll remember how it feel tonight, hours from now, when he's staring at a screen wishing you were haunting his office rather than in a doze in the girl's dormitory.
"Miguel," you say, practically into his mouth. This time he pulls away, and you take a small step back so you don't have to crane your neck. "I, uh…"
Miguel wipes the sheen from your bottom lip, not not listening but certainly not giving his full attention. He's hoping you'll let him kiss you again.
"I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable with the flower," you say.
His eyes lifted to yours. "It's not that. It's not you. Don't waste any time thinking about it, okay?"
He pinches your chin between his forefinger and his thumb. You hold his eyes for a moment.
"I don't really think," you say bashfully, wrapping your arms around his waist and giving him a hug he doesn't have time to reciprocate.
"You think," he says, blinking as you retreat from him completely, waltzing back to your origami station on the floor. Your hips don't sway, but there's a movement to them he tracks.
"About you, handsome? All the time."
Miguel groans and turns back to his screens. Lyla appears silently, and sticks a finger into her mouth in a mock gag.
"That's in poor taste," he says.
"I would like to hand in my resignation."
"You can't resign, Lyla. You're a hologram."
She pushes her heart-shaped sunglasses up her nose and blinks out of view, refusing to speak to Miguel for the rest of the day outside of official Society business, and even then she's cranky. You fill the void of conversation with a mixture of nonsensical and merited suggestions, and by the time you leave for the night, his desk is decorated by a rainbow menagerie of paper animals, each one made with care.

City Pigeons Bleed Green - Part 9
WC: 1088, Masterpost
Cass hummed happily. Moving their new brother to the better safe house had gone so well that Cass was finally getting to meet him— to meet Danny! His name was Danny. Cass rolled the name around on her tongue, silently trying out out.
It was a good word day, a good day in so many ways, but Cass knew that the excitement of it all could make her tongue trip up. She wanted to get Danny’s name right this first time. Cass knew how much names mattered and she wanted to do the best by her new brother. Danny deserved the best, after everything he had been through.
Her arms were full of things that would hopefully help Danny continue to improve: soft clothing, a weighted blanket, a heat pack stuffed animal, and fresh groceries. Jason met her outside the elevator to help carry it all.
“Hey, Cass,” he said. His exhaustion pulled at his words.
He never tried to hide how tired he was from her, not like he did around the others. Cass knew it was because he knew that she would see past it, but it still felt nice to be the sibling that Jason didn’t mask around. (Dick still thought that he could get away with it.)
“Hello, Jason,” she said and took the opportunity to brush a kiss against his cheek when he leaned in to take the groceries from her.
It made his smile a little softer. “Thanks for bringing this stuff.”
“Of course,” Cass chirped. “Rules?”
“More guidelines,” Jason said. “No sudden or big movements, no loud noises. Metal sounds seem to set him off sometimes, so be careful in the kitchen. Oh, and stay where he can see you, at least at first. We figure we’ll have you over maybe one more time and then put you on rotation with us watching over him.”
“Yes, happy to help,” Cass agreed. She could follow those rules easily, even if they were more guidelines. “You need more rest.”
Jason chuckled dryly. “Yeah I do. That’s part of getting you and then Babs introduced. We’re still keeping someone awake in case he has a night terror or something.”
Cass hummed. Those were never any fun. “Hot chocolate?”
“We’ve got some on the cabinet. I’ll be sure to show you where everything is,” Jason assured her.
“Good. New brother now, please,” Cass said. She rolled her eyes when Jason gave her a look. “Yes, yes. Danny once in the door, not new brother. I know the ‘guidelines’.”
“Brat,” Jason grumbled but in that way that meant ‘I love you’.
It made Cass smile happily as they entered the apartment. She slipped her shoes off inside the door. Like the others, she had dressed in athleisure wear and a domino. She hoped it put their new brother more at ease than her mask would have with the stitched mouth. With the wide eyed way that Danny was watching her with, anything that would help him feel more settled was good.
She gave a little wave and smile. “Hello, Danny. I am Black Bat.”
Danny’s eyes flickered between her and Jason before he pulled one hand away from the tangle of himself him and Dick made to wave at her. “Um, hi Black Bat.”
“I brought things,” she said as she slowly lowered the bags onto the kitchen bar.
Dick perked up. “Ooh, candy?”
“Of course candy.” Cass didn’t bother to hide how she rolled her eyes at that. “But also…”
She tried to keep the noise down as she searched for the right bag. Pulling out the stuffed animal, she spun back around to face Danny and Dick. “For Danny,” she said, the soft, blue, teddy bear held in front of her face.
“Me?”
Cass hummed in confirmation and crept closer to the couch. She crouched down before she was too close, and held out the teddy bear towards Danny. He clearly wanted to reach out, but he held back. He was worried; she understood.
She hate that she did, but she did. She new too well what it was like to have something nice turned into a punishment.
“No tricks,” she assured him. “No payment. No catch. Just because, for you.”
Danny studied her for a long moment before he finally, slowly reached out to touch the teddy bear. When she didn’t pull it back, he took it and buried his face into the fabric.
“It’s soft.”
Cass nodded. “Yes. And yours.”
“Thank you.”
“You are welcome,” Cass assured him with a beaming smile. She backed up a little and sat on the floor.
“B.B. here might be looking after you with Hood and I,” Dick said as he let Danny settle back in against him. “But only if you’re alright with it. She’s the best though.”
“Favorite,” Cass said with a laugh.
“Yeah, yeah,” Jason said from the open kitchen where he had finished putting away the food. He came up to stand behind her and she leaned back against her legs. “We all love you.”
“Yes.”
Jason snorted at her easily agreement. “Now Danny, do you want your big meal now or a snack now.”
“Do I have to?” Danny asked, softly, before snapping his mouth closed ducking back against Dick.
“Sorry Danny, but yeah,” Dick said. He brushed his fingers through Danny’s hair, but didn’t try to make him move. “Remember what you and Hood talked about this morning?”
The reply was whispered into the new blue bear. “That I have to try at last a few bites each time, even if I’m not hungry.”
“Exactly. But that sounds like to me like a snack might be best right now?” Dick waited for a nod. “Okay. And then a big meal later. Hey, maybe we can play a game to pass the time! It can be you and me against Hood and B.B.”
“Oh you’re going down,” Jason crowed, playing it up just enough to get Danny to peer out from behind the bear at them.
Dick gasped dramatically. “You would beat our dear,” a fraction of a pause where Cass knew Dick wanted to say brother, “esteemed guest? How could you?”
“Hey, alls fair in love and board games, you know that. But we’ll let you and Danny pick the game you want to lose at, won’t we B.B?”
“Only fair,” she agreed with an innocent smile. When Danny eyed her dubiously she couldn’t help but laugh. This new brother would be very fun to have around.
---
AN: This part has needed the very ending for a good bit now and it finally got there! Cass is always so much fun to write, even if she takes me a little to get into the swing with. Danny seems a fan so far too! Now who might he meet next... ^_~

Note
can you do a harvey x reader where he asks her for help with a client and in doing so she gets hurt. she tries to keep it from him but she never shows up to talk to him. idek if this makes sense but thank you ❤️❤️
WARNING: BRUISING, BLOOD, DISCUSSION OF MAN HURTING WOMAN
A/N: I have them just flirty and not yet dating in this fic! Also, there will be a part two because we all deserve to see y/n and Harvey more
Tumblr media
“What can I do for you, Harvey?” You asked, heels clicking perfectly with the floor as you strut into his office.
“Joshua Hendricks, you know him?” He asked, leaning back in his chair.
“You mean the most powerful man in the health technology industry, and one of our biggest clients?” You questioned, though you were only stating facts.
“I need you to persuade him to do something,” Harvey said, eyeing you up and down in your tight, yet professional, dress.
“Persuade how?”
————-
Harvey glanced down at his watch, a frown taking over. It was fifteen past eight, and while you were known to occasionally be five minutes late, this simply wasn't you, and Harvey knew it.
Pulling out his phone, he quickly clicked your name and waited for your familiar voice. It never came. His jaw tightened while he switched gears.
"Donna, do you know if Y/N ever left from the office to come to dinner?"
"She never came back after that client meeting."
He tried to ignore the pit in his stomach. He'd asked you to see this client because you were beautiful, a senior partner, and had the willingness to sway a client with flirtation- something he hated as much as he loved. And he was beyond worried that you'd had a little...too much fun with the client.
Shaking his head, he stood and left the restaurant, heading back to the office. He needed something else to occupy his head.
Getting off of the elevator and heading down the darkened hallway, he sighed. Harvey always felt better working after hours with less people to bother him. His office always seemed more welcoming, more serene in the night. Walking in, he turned towards his records on the shelf, heart dropping at the sight.
"Oh my god," he blurted, seeing you sitting on his couch, holding your bruised wrist, a bit of blood on your arms. "What happened?"
"Harvey-"
"Who did this to you?"
"Harvey-"
"I swear, when I find him-"
"Harvey!" you shouted, effectively quieting him. As soon as he met your gaze, you burst into tears.
"Hey, Y/N," he murmured, moving quickly to sit on the table in front of you, taking a deep breath in and out before continuing, "Let me see."
Trying to calm your breathing, you held out your hands to him, letting him get a close look at the bruises encircling your wrist and the scrapes on your other. His jaw was set in a firm line and you could tell he was getting angrier by the second.
"What else hurts?"
You took a shaky breath before pulling the top of your dress slightly to the side, showing a few darkening bruises forming near your collarbone.
"Who? It was Joshua, wasn't it." It wasn't a question, it was an accusation, one you confirmed with fresh tears.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," Harvey whispered, his eyes filling with unshed tears. You shook your head.
"It wasn't your fault."
"I asked you to go, he never would have- I'm so sorry, Y/N." He gently brushed your hair out of your face, tucking it behind your ear. You couldn't stop the tears, no matter how hard you tried, and Harvey just leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
How long you stayed like that, you didn’t know. But you finally sat up, wiping at your tears before accepting the tissue Harvey offered.
“Can I help clean you up?”
“I’m fine.”
“You’re bleeding.”
“It’s dried, it’ll wash off in the shower.”
He didn’t quite know what to say, so he stood and went over to grab you a glass of water.
“I’m sorry, I’m a bit on the defensive and I don’t know why,” you admitted.
“I would be surprised if you weren’t on the defensive.”
It was quiet for a moment, before he spoke again. “What do you want to do?”
“If we lose this client, the firm loses a lot.”
“I don’t give a damn about the firm.”
“Harvey, you and I both know that’s not true. You’re angry, so am I, but-“
“He can’t get away with it.”
“Get away with what?”
You both turned towards the door to see Jessica in the doorway, her bags and coat in hand. As soon as she got a good look at you, her face softened, she set her things down, and moved to sit on the couch next to you.
“Tell me what happened.”
Your eyes flickered to Harvey before settling back to meet her gaze. “The client, Joshua Hendricks, he thought he could get the case settled. I went to speak to him about making a statement and he didn’t like the idea very much.”
“He is no longer our client,” Jessica said simply.
“He brings in nearly a million dollars per week for us,” you responded.
“I don’t care. I will give him a call in the morning.”
“No,” Harvey interrupted. “Let me.”
Jessica looked at him, not even a hint of hesitation on her face while she nodded. “Take care of him.”
You both watched her go.
“What are you going to do to him?” You asked quietly.
“I don’t know,” Harvey answered honestly.
“I should go.”
“Let me take you. Please, Y/N.”
You were much too tired and hurt to argue. “Okay.”
———
You’d only been in Harvey’s apartment once before, when you had previously dropped off files while he was working from home after breaking his leg.
He gestured toward one of the counterstools. You took a seat, nodding to his quick ‘Be right back.’
When he came back a moment later with a first aid kit, you tilted your head. “I told you-“
“Please. Just let me take care of you.”
You nodded, feeling more vulnerable than you had in a while. Flirting with Harvey, teasing him- that was one thing. But sitting in front of him, in his apartment, while he cleaned the blood off of you and held ice packs to your wrist- that felt intimate.
He must have felt the same, because you could practically feel the emotions rolling off of him. He wouldn’t say anything, you both knew that, but you could tell he cared. You hadn’t missed the fear in his expression when he saw you sitting hurt on his office couch.
The two of you didn’t exchange a word while he took care of your bruises and blood.
“Keep the ice on,” he murmured, packing up the first aid kid and setting it back on the counter. “Drink?”
“Please. Something strong.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he replied, a hint of a smile playing at his lips. After he poured you a generous cup of scotch, he handed the glass to you, eyes focused once more on your bruises.
"I'm fine."
He just continued to stare, his jaw set once again.
"Thank you."
That caused him to soften.
"No one's ever-" you paused, gesturing towards the first aid kit- "done this for me before."
"I'm glad I could," he responded, before his brow furrowed. "Why didn't you call me?"
"I knew you'd be back at the office after I missed our dinner."
"How could you have possibly known that?"
"Because I know you, Harvey," you said gently. It was easier saying that, than saying you knew skipping dinner with him would hurt him.
"You know I know you too."
You tilted your head, eyebrows raised.
"The baths filling right now with warm water, with eucalyptus salts and bubbles."
"How did you-"
"Because I know you, Y/N." He'd moved closer, his knee touching yours where you still sat. You seemed to lose yourself in his eyes, feeling your heart pounding in your chest. You hadn't even realized he was closer until his lips were mere centimeters from yours.
"You can stop me, if you want," he whispered. He was being a gentleman, giving you an out. He wouldn't do it unless you specifically gave permission.
You didn't say anything, instead leaning forward to close the gap.

you get jealous (TF Prime)
featuring - Optimus Prime x F!Reader, Bumblebee x F!Reader, Knock Out x F!Reader, Smokescreen x F!Reader, Wheeljack x F!Reader, Soundwave x F!Reader, Shockwave x F!Reader
summary - a new female recruit makes you feel inferior and insignificant, though your Cybertronian lover is quick to reassure you
warnings - slight angst
*(R/F/N) - random female name
a/n - i tried to make Knock Out's angsty like the others, i really did. but we all know that bot is too interested in himself to be interested in another 😭 also, i had no inspiration for Soundwave's or Shockwave's so theirs might be bad this time...sorry!
OPTIMUS PRIME
Tumblr media
For a while there was nothing for you to be worried about. The only femme in the group was Arcee and she didn't even entertain the idea of romance, especially with any of the mechs currently in the team. So as far as you were the concerned, jealousy was never an issue in your relationship with the Prime.
Until a certain arrival changed that.
"Ratchet," your boyfriend's voice came through the comm-link, "Set a groundbridge for our coordinates. We will be arriving with a new recruit."
"Another one?" You asked, surprised. "They're coming in fast now."
You and the other human allies of the Autobots lined up at the railing to get a look at the new Autobot as the groundbridge opened. The usual suspects came through, before someone you had never seen before followed Optimus through.
A female Autobot. A very pretty one.
"This is (R/F/N)," Optimus introduced you all, then told her your names one by one, finishing with you. "And this is (Name)."
"Pleasure to meet you," you smiled up at her.
"The pleasure's all mine," she replied, though she didn't seem to be very interested in you or Jack, Raf and Miko. She turned to Optimus, smiling at him sweetly, "So this is your base? Would you like to show me around?"
You felt sick to your stomach. It was very obvious that this femme was interested in Optimus, whether or not her intentions were true or she just liked the idea of dating a Prime. You turned away from them, Optimus starting to agree to show her around when he noticed how upset you were.
"Actually, I believe Smokescreen would be better suited for that task," the Prime told her, before his footsteps drew closer to you. As she left with the younger bot, you felt him tap your shoulder. "Are you alright, (Name)?"
"Yes," you replied in a small voice. "I'm fine."
Optimus looked at Jack and Miko, who shook their heads to tell him you were not fine. You didn't turn to look at the Prime, which also indicated you were bothered by something.
"May I speak with you in private?" He asked hopefully, wanting to sort this out as soon as possible.
"...Fine."
You didn't mean to give him attitude, you hated snapping at Optimus. But you were jealous, no doubt about it, because he finally had a shot at a partner of his species.
"What bothers you?" He asked when you were in his berthroom.
Now that you were alone with him, you couldn't stop the flood of emotions that overwhelmed you, and your eyes became glassy.
"Do you like her?"
"Who?" He frowned. "(R/F/N)?"
"Yes."
"She is skilled in combat," he responded, "But I sense that is not what you mean."
"No, it's not," you confirmed, sighing and sitting on his berth dejectedly. "We both know you've never really had a chance to find a partner that's your species. Now that there is one, who seems interested in you, where does that leave me?"
"I have no need for a partner of my species," the large bot declared, coming to face-level with you. "I do, however, need my human partner. Who underestimates just how much I feel for her."
You looked up at him, surprised, "Really? You don't want someone like you? Someone you don't have to be gentle with?"
"(Name)," the Prime picked you up and placed you on his chassis, "You are what I want. That will not change, regardless of how many of my kind arrive here. You have nothing to worry about, for you will remain my partner regardless."
Your tears stopped brimming in your eyes at his words, and a shaky smile formed on your lips, "Thank you, Optimus. That's exactly what I needed to hear."
He smiled and held you close, aiming to prove to you that he will only ever want his sweet little human girlfriend.
BUMBLEBEE
Tumblr media
It was no secret that the Autobots needed more bots. It was undeniable that the team has long since required new members to assist in the fight against the Decepticons and the battle to protect earth. So when another beacon alerted the base to its presence, you were excited to meet whoever else had arrived on your planet. Especially since Smokescreen had turned out to be so cool.
That excitement dwindled when you got your first look at the new arrival, who was a femme. A really pretty one, too. She was also young, much like Bumblebee, and it looked like the two knew each other.
That was confirmed when Bumblebee came over to you excitedly and beeped and whirred so fast you only caught 'old friend' and 'glad she's here'. You started feeling queasy, but you forced it down because he was just so cute when he was excited and you didn't want to ruin the mood.
"That's great, Bee. I'm glad she's okay." And you meant it. You would welcome any friend of Bee's with open arms, and she was just so nice you understood why Bee had made friends with her.
"Is this your human?" She smiled at you. "She's so pretty1"
"Thank you," you smiled back, forcefully. "I was just about to say the same to you."
Only Jack and Miko were aware of how you really felt, and to get you away from the awkward and uncomfortable situation they called out to you to join their game.
"What are we playing?" You asked them, trying not to look at where Bee and the new recruit, (R/F/N), were standing and talking.
You didn't have the heart to tell them you didn't really want to play. Though they could already tell, from how distracted you were by your thoughts.
"Earth to (Name)!" Miko waved a hand in front of your face.
You snapped out of it, "Oh, sorry...I think I'm just going to take a walk." Before any of them could reply, you got up and walked away.
Bee noticed you leave, his optics following your figure as you retreated down one of the long hallways of the base. He wasn't worried about you getting lost, you knew your way around, he was worried about the forlorn expression you had on your face.
He found you sitting against the concrete wall, your knees pulled up to your chest and chin resting on top. Your eyes had a faraway look in them, but what really struck him was the slight frown on your lips. He beeped in concern, earning your attention.
"Oh, hey Bee. I'm fine, don't worry. Where's (R/F/N)?"
More beeps led you to find out she was with Smokescreen, as Bee had followed you out of concern when he noticed you looked down. Another beep asked you what was wrong.
"You've got a great friend," you told him, looking down. "But wouldn't she also make a great partner?"
The scout looked confused, then asked you what made you think that.
"It's just...you guys have a good friendship and I can see you've known each other a while...a lot longer than I've known you. And she's Cybertronian, a relationship with her would be so easy..."
Bumblebee disagreed, telling you that even though he's known you for a shorter time, his relationship with you is as easy and natural as transforming because you fit with him in a way she doesn't. He went on to say that he likes his relationship with you, and he loves you, so nothing and no one will change that and you don't have to be jealous because she can't compare to you in beauty, and she doesn't have your personality which he absolutely adores. In essence, she's not you.
"Bee..." You smiled up at him, his words warming your chest and maoing your heart swell. "That's really sweet...I didn't know you felt that strongly." You slowly stood up and beckoned him down so that you could kiss him. "I love you too, my cute scout."
He whirred happily and lifted you up onto his shoulder, relaxed now that he's made you feel better. He walks back to the others with you, but instead of going to talk to (R/F/N) again, he went with you to watch you beat Miko and Jack in their video game.
You soon forgot why you were even jealous in the first place, and when (R/F/N) told you that you and Bee made the cutest couple, all your worries were put to rest. He was yours, and would always be yours.
KNOCK OUT
Tumblr media
You'd never had to worry about sharing Knock Out's attention before, because he was only worried about two things. His paintjob and you. Everything else was sidelined and not as important as you or his finish, especially if it had anything to do with the other Decepticons. And there had never been any female cons apart from Airachnid, so that wasn't ever an issue either.
Until now.
Starscream had been sent out with a few Seekers to investigate a signal that was coming from what seemed like a Decepticon stasis pod. He came back with the prettiest Cybertronian you'd ever seen, or maybe the second prettiest. Knock Out would always top the list. Nevertheless, you were a little intimidated, to say the least.
Especially when she started flirting with your mech. Insecurity welled up inside you, it would be so easy for him to just leave you for someone who's the same species.
"What a stunning finish," you could hear the femme saying, "I can't help but keep staring at it. Share your secret, Knock Out."
The mech was flattered by the praise, but he was too busy being pleased with himself to notice that she was flirting, "Why, thank you. That's the nicest thing any con has said to me."
"Well, there's more where that came from," she smirked at him, leaning in a little too close for your liking. "Would you buff mine?"
Her words ignited an ugly feeling in you, and you scoffed and rolled your eyes as you crossed your arms. She apparently didn't like this, turning to glare at you.
"Does your little pet have a problem with me?"
Knock Out was between the two of you in a second, shielding you protectively, "Has anyone ever told you that insulting someone won't earn you any favours?"
"I insulted the human-"
"And that's an insult to me," he cut her off. "She is my little girlfriend, and if you wish to speak ill of her, I'd be more than happy to schedule a dissection for you." For added effect, he morphed his servo into a scalpel.
You smiled when he did this for you, jealousy now replaced with admiration for the mech. You stared at him, a little in disbelief and a little in awe.
"You would pick the lowly human over one of your own?" She was stunned by the idea.
"I would pick her over anyone."
You felt your cheeks burn at those words, your heart thumping so wildly you feared it would break out of your chest. You felt giddy, the idea that you were his first choice always sending your heart soaring.
"Suit yourself then," she huffed and left the lab.
Knock Out turned to you, smirking, "Was my little human jealous?"
"Jealous?!" You protested. "Me? No way."
"Uh huh, and I'm blue," he replied sarcastically, chuckling. "I think it's rather cute that you were jealous of a femme that isn't even half the woman you are."
Your cheeks burned again, "Stop! You can't do that!"
"I'm not doing anything," he replied innocently, though his smirk told you that he knew very well what he was doing.
"Did you mean what you said earlier?" You asked him, serious now.
"Every word," he didn't hesitate to answer. "There was never a reason for you to be jealous of a femme, I can't date someone with a nicer finish than me."
You knew he meant well, but you face-palmed. Of course he had to say that, of course that had to be a factor. Nevertheless, you were comforted by the fact that he preferred you over femmes, for any reason at all.
"Now do I get a reward for being so sweet?" He asked you, tapping his faceplate with his long, sharp digit.
"As many as you want," you smiled and leaned up to kiss his faceplates multiple times.
SMOKESCREEN
Tumblr media
When Smokescreen falls for you, he falls hard. He devotes himself to you, in a similar fashion to how he devotes himself to being the best he can be. When he does something, or when he loves, he puts every fibre of his being into it. There's no room for doubt with this bot, because he's so affectionate that sometimes it's hard to get away from him to do other things. He has once locked you in his vehicle form and pretended to be in power down to keep you from going home because he'd miss you too much.
So when an Autobot life signal pops up, you don't think much of it at first. And when the team brings back a new femme, you're not alarmed or anything. You're eager to make another friend, and that's all that's on your mind.
You think nothing of it when the femme comes in through the groundbridge a little too close to your Cybertronian boyfriend. She's smiling and chatting animatedly to him, but as soon as his optics found you in the base he's rushing over to introduce her to you, the most important thing he's ever had.
"(Name)! Look who we found!"
You found out that she used to be friends with Smokescreen before they got separated, although she seemed to have a different version of the story.
"Smoke, dear, you forget that we almost became sparkmates."
She said it so casually that one would think it's a meaningless comment, but her optics told you she'd mentioned it with malicious intent. That being to upset you, a human she didn't know but decided she didn't like just for being Smokescreen's girlfriend. You assumed he must have either rejected her or they'd been separated before they could begin to date.
You narrowed your eyes, but you couldn't deny that a part of you did feel jealous at the idea. Truth or not, you despised the idea of your loveable bot with anyone else. It hurt to even think about, so you did your best to not imagine Smokescreen with a Cybertronian lover, even though it would make more sense.
"Oh yeah, I remember that..." He mused, then launched into the story of how he'd met you, "And no one understands me better than she does!"
You smiled at the young mech, chest filled with warmth, until (R/F/N) decided to chime in with another dubious story.
"I miss our spot on Cybertron," she pressed, "It was such a nice view of Iacon." She sighed nostalgically, and then went on to describe how she missed meeting him there to just relax from the stress of the constant fighting, when they'd had breaks.
You realised then that you didn't have a special spot with Smokescreen here on Earth. That did dampen your mood a little, and a small frown formed on your lips. You had been together a while now, but the only places you ever went to with him were your house and this base. Maybe some recon missions, but nothing romantic.
"(Name), what's wrong?" Smokescreen asked you, ever the observant lover.
"Was it something I said?" (R/F/N) asked innocently.
"I'm just going to get some air," you got up and headed for the elevator that would take you the top of this rock.
"Wait, don't go!" Smokescreen went after you. "You have to tell her about-"
"Maybe later," you waved him off. "Enjoy reminiscing."
You had never gotten mad at him before, so this confused him. Of course, being the worried bot he was, he abandoned his conversation with (R/F/N) to join you up top.
"Seriously, did I do something?" His tone implied he was afraid it might be his fault.
You sighed, "No, Smoke. You didn't do anything." You pressed your thighs to your chest and wrapped your arms around your legs. "Your friend is the problem, actually."
"(R/F/N)?" He asked, sitting beside you, "What did she do?" He easily picked you up and set you down on his leg.
"She kept going on and on about how you almost dated and how you guys had a special spot and everything," you admitted, "And it just occurred to me that we ARE dating and don't have a spot..." You looked up at him, eyes glassy. "And I can't help but think it would be more natural for you to be with one of your own kind."
He blinked once, twice, confused. Then he started to speak, and everything he said was exactly what you needed to hear, surprisingly.
"(R/F/N) and I never 'almost dated'. I don't know why she said that. She and I were always just friends, and the spot she was talking about was where we met so she could update me on the war, considering I was stuck on guard duty. I never looked at her in any other way, I promise. But when I met you...I don't think I've ever loved or will ever love anyone as much as you. You take up a lot of my thoughts, and I'm pretty sure it's obvious but I love your company. She may be my own species, but she's not the one that makes me feel special, she's not the one that makes me smile and she's not the one that I want to be around all day. You are. And I absolutely adore my little human girl, I wouldn't have it any other way."
"Thanks, Smokey," you smiled, climbing up to give his faceplates a loving kiss. "That means a lot to me. I love you too."
And the two of you sat there and watched the sunset, the view better than anything Smokescreen had ever seen on Cybertron. He decided then and there that this would be yours and his special spot, and he held you even closer.
WHEELJACK
Tumblr media
When Wheeljack left to explore your planet to see if he'd stay, you both kind of left things up in the air. You'd shared one spur-of-the-moment kiss, and nothing more. So you weren't really sure where that left the two of you, especially since he was Cybertronian and you were human. That and he was unpredictable and you didn't know when he'd come back.
When he did come back, though, you hadn't expected it to be with a very pretty femme that only Bulkhead recognised, so you assumed she had been a Wrecker too.
"Hey, (R/F/N)!" The big green bot yelled excitedly, rushing over to greet her. "You found another one, Jackie!"
"Yeah, turns out she's been exploring this rock for a while, doing the same as me. Trying to see if it's worth staying to join Team Prime," Wheeljack explained, grinning at them both.
"And?" Bulkhead prompted.
"I think it's worth it," (R/F/N) grinned. "The native life forms are cute too."
Miko, who had been rooting for you and Wheeljack to get together ever since you had met him, looked at you in concern. You just took a deep breath and walked away, failing to hide the jealousy bubbling to the surface.
"I'm fine."
Wheeljack looked over when he noticed Miko chasing after you, and for a moment he was confused. You were usually happy to see him, and after that kiss he thought he'd earned more than a greeting. Then he dismissed the thought, but your sudden departure nagged at him until he decided to follow you too. He stopped when he overheard you and Miko talking.
"But he likes YOU, (Name)! I'm sure of it!"
"Doesn't seem like it," you replied, and your voice sounded... sad. "Look, if he wants someone that's the same species as him, I'm not going to stand in the way. Plus, she's a Wrecker too. He probably spent lots of time with her so she knows him better than I do. She'd be a perfect fit...everything I'm not." You looked down, sighing heavily.
Wheeljack had no idea what to do with this information. He couldn't approach you now, he wouldn't know what to say. So he decided to go to Bulkhead, who knew more about humans than he did.
When you returned to the main area of the base, where everyone was still gathered, you walked right past Wheeljack. Again, no greeting. You headed towards the other humans, but Wheeljack scooped you up before you could get there.
"Hey! Let me go!" You protested, struggling against his grip.
"No," he denied, transforming and locking you in his vehicle form, "You and I need to talk, and you need to stop avoiding me." Then he took off, out of the base.
"There's nothing to talk about," You insisted, crossing your arms. "But your Wrecker friend, she's nice. Good choice."
He sighed, "I'm sure she'd approve that the human I want has such an attitude. I've always known you were feisty sweetheart, but this is something else. You angry about something? Or maybe jealous?"
You scoffed, "Jealous? Why would I be?"
"Because we both know that neither of us has forgotten that kiss," he suddenly came to a stop. "Now come on, admit it. And then I'll tell you who I really want."
"Annoying as ever," you grumbled, "But fine, yes I'm jealous. Can you blame me? She's not only a Cybertronian, but a Wrecker too! She's the obvious choice for you, it just makes sense. You and I...we don't make sense."
"When has that ever stopped me?" He questioned. "Look, I brought (R/F/N) back because I thought Bulk would be happy to see her. And maybe I was looking for an excuse to see you."
"Why?"
"Because my choice is you, (Name). I want you."
Your eyes widened at his confession, your heartbeat picking up pace. You found yourself getting flustered, cheeks burning.
"Yeah, well, unfortunately I want you too."
SOUNDWAVE
Tumblr media
Soundwave keeps to himself, with only you and Laserbeak as his companions. He only needs your company, so you never have to worry about his attention being divided or shared. When he wasn't busy doing tasks for Megatron, he spent his time with you, teaching you about Cybertron and its culture while you did the same for him about Earth and humans.
That changed when Starscream found another femme for the group, one that instantly recognised your lover. He didn't know her, but she seemed to know everything about him. While it was kind of creepy, you were also a little jealous.
Soundwave never got irritated, he was a very patient bot. So her hanging around him and constantly chatting to him never got to him, but it was getting to you. It was harder to spend time with him alone now that he had a fangirl around the ship.
"Can I help you with anything?"
"Oh, I know about that!"
"I can accompany you to retrieve the relic, if you'd like."
At each remark or suggestion, you became increasingly annoyed. And maybe a little jealous, because she could join Soundwave on missions without the risk of getting hurt too badly. You were always stuck on the ship, never allowed to go anywhere.
"Fine. Go with Soundwave."
You heard her start rambling excitedly after Megatron gave her permission, and you sighed from where you stood and made your way back to Soundwave's berthroom.
Now you trusted Soundwave more than anything, and you never doubted him. But you didn't like the way this femme felt as if she could invade his personal space, just because he couldn't verbally tell her he didn't want her to. And you didn't like the fact that they would be alone for majority of the day while you sulked in the berthroom without a clue what was going on, or what she was doing.
They came back a few hours later, as you had gotten comfortable on his berth with a book. You didn't look up as he came in, and didn't even speak even though he knew you were aware he had arrived. He sat down next to you, using a slender digit to push your book down to reveal your face, and his screen lit up with a question mark.
"Nothing," you told him, putting your book back up.
He wouldn't give up, and pulled the book out of your hands instead. Placing it down gently next to you, he brought his large visor close to your face and again displayed a question mark. That was then followed by a heart, meaning he's worried because he cares.
You sighed and curled up with your legs against your chest, "It's really nothing, Soundwave. Nothing important anyway."
His screen suddenly showed a picture of (R/F/N), and then an angry emoji. You struggled to hide your growing smile, his method of communication never failing to make you giggle.
"Okay, yes, I don't like her. She's too...excited, especially around you. Not to mention, she can go on missions with you and I can't..."
He started to type on his visor now, showing you when he was done: She is too eager, but I do not pay any attention to her. ANd when we are out on missions, I only think about you.
As you read this you smiled, feeling a little better. He always knew just how to comfort you, and what to tell you when you were feeling down. He continued to reassure you that you didn't need to be jealous because he would much rather prefer your company on missions than her, but he also loves you just the way you are. He told you he adores his little human, and that he finds you cute. He also reminded you that you were special, because he usually leaves humans alone, and assured you that no femme was going to change that.
You beamed up at him in response, "I already knew that, I guess I just get worried sometimes that we can't do everything together because we're not the same."
He typed out that you never had to worry about that because he's actually glad he can keep you out of harm's way, and this way he can never lose you. He also typed out that he doesn't care that you're not like him because his affection for you was not based on your species or form, but rather who you were and how you treated him.
"Okay," you finally relaxed, smiling fully now. "Thank you, Soundwave. You always know just what to say." You kissed his visor, and a heart popped up, making you smile even more.
SHOCKWAVE
Tumblr media
Shockwave was a unique Cybertronian. Not only did he absolutely terrify both Autobots and Decepticons alike, not only was he physically imposing, but his intelligence far outshone that of any of the bots you knew. He was also emotionally detached, from everything and everyone except you. He only showed emotion to you, and others got the steely glare of his one red optic. He was content with just you in his lab, keeping him company, and he liked to show you his experiments and explain what he was doing. He never minded sharing his knowledge with you, and he never cared that you weren't as scientifically inclined as he was.
It also never truly bothered you until Megatron found a femme partner for him in the lab, after Knock Out's and Starscream's blatant failure with the zombie Breakdown. He wanted someone to keep a close eye on Knock Out while helping speed up Project Predacon, but instead got a femme much more interested in your boyfriend.
"Can I suggest a more prudent path?" You woke up from a nap to hear her asking Shockwave. She then went on to say a bunch of scientific words and terms that you didn't understand.
"I see. That would be most logical."
You looked at him in disbelief, unable to comprehend the fact that he was outsmarted by this femme. If he was so intelligent, how intelligent did she have to be to come up with a different solution? And why did you feel so jealous that she was that smart? Why was it making you feel so inferior?
Shockwave seemed to notice your silence. He would usually enjoy your chatter while working, secretly listening to everything you said while maintaining his focus. But right now you were just sitting there staring at him, or maybe staring at his new lab partner. And he did not like the expression on your face. It was a mixture of hurt, embarrassment and sadness, none of which he ever wanted to inflict on you.
"(R/F/N), could you please show this to Lord Megatron?" Shockwave asked her, handing her a tablet.
"But-" She tried to protest.
"It is our status report," he cut her off, "He will require it."
When she was gone, the scientist came over to where you were sitting and lowered himself so that he could be eye-level with you. His face was just his optic, but his voice showed concern.
"Little one, why do you look so upset? Have I done something?"
"No," you shook your head, "It's not you."
He paused, waiting for you to continue, but you didn't so he spoke again, "Would you like to inform me of the reason?"
You sighed and finally met his gaze, transfixed almost instantly by his glowing red optic, "I've just never felt more inferior or more dumb than I do now. She's so smart and she knows everything you do and seems like such a perfect match for you. I'm a human who knows very little about Cybertronian science and can't physically help you in the lab..."
He listened intently, not moving an inch as you told him about your insecurities and how you were jealous of how easy it was for them to work together.
"I do not require any assistance from her," Shockwave told you, "But I sometimes require assistance from you. Your company helps to remind me that I am not alone anymore, and even though you cannot physically help me with my projects, you make them easier for me to bear. When it becomes overwhelming, you are there to calm me down and ease my tension. You console me in ways that no one else can, and I hold an affection for you that I will never hold for anyone else. Including (R/F/N). You do not have to worry, I do not consider you to be less intelligent than her, you just have a different kind. However, intelligence alone does not matter to me. You are attentive to my needs just as I am to yours, and I can ask for no better romantic partner."
His words may sound monotonous and meaningless the way he said them, but you knew better. To you, it was basically a love confession, and he was basically pouring out his spark to you. You appreciated every single word, and it worked to make you feel better.
"Thank you, Shockwave," you smiled and climbed onto his servo when he held it out for you. "That's all I needed to hear. I'm glad I can be helpful to you in any way."
"Now that your illogical thoughts have been dealt with, I shall take a break from my work to indulge in that cuddling you like so much," he told you, going to his bethroom and laying on his berth. He placed you on his chassis, and placed his single hand over your smaller body. "Are you comfortable?"
"Very," you smiled and curled up on his warm chassis. "With you, always."
And as you relaxed, you heard him say quietly, "As am I with you."

Can I request an angsty one where the reader and Marshall/Em/Slim (whichever you prefer) they have an argument and at one point he tells her he doesn't need her, he can have whoever he wants and they won't complain about anything like she does. And obviously she feels hurt bc it's always been an insecurity of hers that he could have anyone. And he just confirmed her fear. Hopefully with a happy ending tho🙏🏻❤️ please and thank you! Sorry it's so long lol.
needed - eminem
fem!y/n x Marshall Mathers
masterlist
synopsis: Marshall says he doesn't need her, but what does he do when he doesn't have her?
warnings: cursing, drinking
A/N: loved this request! very fun to write. if you guys want anything written, my asks are open. hope you enjoy!
-Fuck you!
-Oh, piss off!
Shouts could be heard from the Mathers residence that night. Y/N and Marshall were arguing over something stupid, again. They seemed to be having these arguments more and more often these days. This time, however, they were arguing over Marshall’s lack of communication. He’d have a bad day, be rude to Y/N, and when she’d ask what was wrong he’d blow up at her without telling her what bothered him. Today it seemed like he’d had an extra bad day.
He got home from the studio later than usual. Y/N was reasonably worried, and when she called, he wouldn’t answer. So, once he got home, she asked him a ton of questions; questions like “where were you?” “what happened?” “are you alright?”. This angered him to no end since he hates explaining himself to people.
He refused to answer questions. Y/N knew he’d probably just had a rough day so she decided to make him his favorite home-cooked meal and some hot cocoa and treat him to a lovely night at home. But, when she brought him his food and drink, he just told her he wasn’t hungry, even after seeing all the effort she was putting in for him.
That’s when something inside of her just snapped. She set the plate and mug on the table fecklessly, spilling some cocoa in the process. Marshall seemed a bit startled, knowing Y/N doesn’t usually throw fits like this and she usually keeps her temper in check.
-God, Marsh! Would it kill you to at least give me a thank you? I’ve tried so hard to find out what’s wrong, and you won’t tell me! What happened to me being your #1 and your best friend? And come on! Look at this meal I made for you! Can’t you see how badly I want you to let me help you?
-Fuck! I’m sorry I’m not living up to your boyfriend standards, Y/N! But, clearly, I had a rough day so just drop it!
-You know what Marshall? I have bad days too! But you don’t see me bitching about it and acting like a little kid every time something doesn’t go my way! And even when I do feel upset, I tell you what’s wrong! Because I actually care about your feelings and I wouldn’t want you to worry!
- Oh, so, now I don’t care?! All I ever do is care about you Y/N! I write songs about you, I buy you everything you look at to make you happy, not to mention I make you feel pretty damn good!
- It’s not about that Marsh! God, are you even listening to me?! I don’t care that you’re upset, or that you’re in a bad mood or feeling mean; I just want you to tell me! I want you to communicate with me! I want us to work through our problems calmly, without me having to shout to get your attention!
-You always say that, but you never actually do it! Whenever you’re upset you just stay quiet! So don’t go telling me how to deal with my problems because you sure as hell don’t know how to deal with yours!
-Fuck you!
-Oh, piss off!
-Fuck, Marsh! This isn’t about me! We can work through what I do, but you seriously need to stop!
-Stop it, Y/N! Stop already! If everything I do is so terrible and wrong, then why not just break up with me already?
-Because I love you! I care so much about you and I just wish you could see it.
-You’re just saying that because you know I don’t need your ass. You know I can get with whoever the hell I want and they won't criticize me or complain about everything I do half as much as you do!
Y/N stayed silent for a bit. Her heart dropped and she could feel the lump develop in her throat. All this time she was with Marshall, she’d had her insecurities. But, he helped her work through them slowly. He helped her make sure she knew he’d never hurt her like that.
But, now, all that hard work was out the window. With those simple words. The tears began to prick her eyes and she looked down at the floor to try and conceal it. She felt like a little girl being yelled at. She felt helpless, and small. The man who was supposed to love her the most, to protect her, had failed her. He made her feel alone.
Marshall instantly felt a wave of regret wash over him. He felt it surge from his mind up to the tips of his ears down to the points of his toes. He looked at the girl he loves, knowing how badly he just hurt her. He opened his mouth to apologize, knowing he’d gone too far and he didn’t mean it; but, before he could, she had walked past him and into their bedroom. He quickly turned on his heels to follow her.
Y/N was grabbing a few of her things: a hoodie, her phone charger, some gum, her earbuds, and some shoes. He once again tried to apologize but she wouldn’t hear it. He followed her all the way down to the garage and watched as she hopped in her car and sped off. He wasn’t sure where she was going, and, to be honest, neither was she.
She hated herself for complaining and she hated him for being so mean to her. But, deep down, she knew she loved him more than anything and everything. She gripped her steering wheel harder, and turned up the volume of the song she was listening to.
She pulled into the parking lot for some random bar she heard of from one of her friends. Her friend said it was the best place to go if you’re feeling sad or having a rough night.
When she walked in, the bar looked exactly how she felt. It was dimly lit, the room reeking of alcohol and cigarette smoke. There were barely enough people to call a crowd in there, all sitting far apart with a drink in hand. Everyone looked glum in there, so she’d blend right in. She sat at the bar and ordered herself a few shots of rum. She downed them quickly, not feeling much different. She then ordered herself a vodka, which she kept refilling until the bartender just gave her the bottle.
She kept feeling her phone buzz in her pocket. She assumed it was Marshall. She didn’t really want to respond, but she still looked, just in case. It was actually a text from her best friend asking what happened. Of course. Marshall texted her friend to see if Y/N was okay (since she usually goes to her best friend in times of need). Y/N decided not to answer, she was in more of a “fuck the world” kind of mood.
She set her phone down on the counter, finally feeling the effects of the alcohol. She wasn’t sure how she was going to get home or if she was going to get home at all. Before she could continue that thought, she saw a series of texts, making her phone buzz repeatedly.
The contact name read “marsh :)”. She truly didn’t want to speak to him at the moment. She wasn’t sure why what he said affected her this way, but it did, and he knew that. She knew she was probably just being sensitive, but she couldn’t help but feel attacked.
She looked at her phone again and saw Marshall’s concerned text chain.
“hello?”
“babyyy??”
“look baby i’m so sorry i know i messed up big time. please call me back so i can fix this.”
She didn’t bother reading the rest. She got more texts from him and her best friend. They seemed really concerned now. It was unlike Y/N, not answering the phone. It was cold, far too cold for someone of her character. However, Y/N wasn’t in the mood or the headspace to care about her character. She was too busy trying to keep her head upright as her vision blurred a bit from the effects of the white russian she was creating in her stomach at the moment. From that point forward, she couldn’t really recollect anything that had happened. The next thing she knew, she felt a pair of strong arms lifting her up by the waist and into their arms bridal-style.
The next day, Y/N woke up in her bed alongside a snoring Marshall that had his arms wrapped around her tightly. She slowly shimmied out of his embrace, head beginning to pound when she stood up. She went downstairs and sat at the kitchen table with a small tonic for hangovers in hand.
As she was washing the cup she was just using, Y/N heard a set of booming footsteps as they pounded against the wooden staircase. She turned around to look at Marshall. He looked incredible. His hair was a bit tousled and his eyes and lips were puffy. He came down and approached her without a second thought. The first thing he did was put his lips against hers. The kiss was warm, brilliant.
Y/N crumpled under his touch. He pulled back and smiled slightly at her. His heart grew seeing her in front of him. He smiled even wider when he saw her smile back; however, he knew he wasn’t forgiven just yet.
-Wait, look, I gotcha something.
He quickly walked into the living room and grabbed a small box and turned to the kitchen.
-I bought this a while ago. I wanted to give it to you somewhere better but this seemed like the right time.
Y/N opened the little box gingerly, a little nervous to see its contents. Her jaw dropped a tad when she saw it.
A small ring, diamond encrusted and the exact type of metal she wears. It was perfectly tailored to her tastes. She looked up at him, eyebrow slightly raised.
-It’s a promise ring. I know what I said last night was fucked up but I didn’t mean it at all. I love you more than anything and you know that. I could never be with anyone else knowing that you’re out there in the world.
He took the ring out of the box and secured it onto her finger. He then kissed her hand softly. She smiled taking in the view.
Then, she knew, more than anything, that she was truly loved.

talks of the past - zhongli
Tumblr media
ship: zhongli x reader
synopsis: in which the wangsheng funeral parlor’s consultant tries to restore your faith in rex lapis
notes: 1.7k words, chapter 7 of bookkeeping!verse; with ties to various chapters in the series
Tumblr media
It was yet another day you found yourself traveling with Zhongli to Qingce Village. Objectively speaking, it was a beautiful morning. The sun was high in the sky without a cloud in sight, the birds were chirping, and the temperature was nice. Really, there shouldn’t have been anything there to get you down. And yet…
There you were walking with your head down and a faraway look in your eyes. Had you been more aware, you would’ve noticed your companion speaking a few times. You would’ve seen the concerned look in his eyes as he peered down at you. But you were lost in your thoughts, uncharacteristically troubled and insecure.
If you had noticed, you would’ve felt a bit of pity for your companion. It was not often that you were seen in such a depressed state. Really, despite your temperament, you were generally alert and sociable. He often enjoyed the banter that would come about between you two. Truly, you were a dear friend to him. That being said, it wasn’t often you shared your concerns with him. He wasn’t sure if you even would if asked.
He cleared his throat.
“First, is… there anything that’s bothering you?”
It took a few moments for you to respond, almost prompting him to ask again before you let out a long sigh.
“Zhongli,” you began, looking up to him imploringly, “Can I talk to you about something?”
He couldn’t deny the slight start of his heart that came with your question. You’ve brought up your concerns to him before, but those were often accompanied with glares and opinions regarding his financial decisions. This time, however, exhaustion was evident in your voice with dark bags under your eyes. He could not recall doing anything that’d result in your loss of sleep.
“Sure,” he began, careful to keep his wariness absent.
“It’s not a big deal,” you began in a way that implied the opposite. “I’m sure you know how much I revere Rex Lapis. Even though he passed, I still greatly respect the legacy he left behind.”
“Yes,” he replied with a nod. “You’ve mentioned this to me a few times in the past.”
A bit too many, he would add. And with your way with words, it never exactly was… pleasant. At the very least, he was relieved your lack of sleep wasn’t with anything he did as Zhongli.
“It’s just… Lately, I’ve been talking to Madam Ping in my free time, and… I feel like my faith is beginning to be shaken…”
He frowned.
“‘Shaken?’ In what way?”
“I…” You bit your lip as tears welled in your eyes. “Don’t hate me for saying this, but I…”
You hesitated.
“I’m beginning to think he was actually a complete weirdo.”
A… A weirdo?
He cleared his throat, feeling if not just a little attacked.
“In what way?”
You sighed, glancing away with your guilt-ridden eyes.
“In… in every way.”
‘Every way?’
“For instance, take into account Mora…”
Of course, it had to do with Mora.
“Well, I once heard a story that Rex Lapis created the first home out of Mora. I always thought it was metaphorical or just a silly children’s tale, but… Madame Ping confirmed it to be true. When I asked her why he chose Mora, she said it simply was because it was available. He didn’t have any deeper meaning to it.”
He frowned. Ignoring the sense of déjà vu he felt regarding this specific topic, he didn’t see any problem with his actions.
“Yes, it only makes sense. To the God of Wealth and Commerce, what material is easier to get than Mora?”
“Exactly!” You exclaimed suddenly, nearly causing him to flinch. “Only a simple-minded man would come up with such a simple-minded conclusion.”
“S-Simple-minded…”
You nodded.
“Just because he had all the access in the world to Mora didn’t mean the common folk did. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to make the first model home out of materials available to everyone?”
He coughed.
“Perhaps.”
You sniffled.
“It’d be fine if that was the only thing, but Shitou from the Jade Mystery told me that once Rex Lapis stopped by his family’s shop in the past and purchased a spoon made of fine Noctilucus Jade to sample the culinary delights of Liyue Harbor.” You buried your face in your hands. “Why would he spend that much Mora just for a simple spoon?”
“W-Well…”
“I know, I know. As the God of Wealth and Commerce, he had easy access to Mora. And I’m sure it made him happy to contribute to the wealth of Liyue Harbor’s commonfolk, but for someone who spent so much time around his people, it’s like he had no concept of his own creation’s worth! It’s shamelessly extravagant! I didn’t think he was such a wasteful person…”
In the back of his mind, Zhongli had the urge to disagree, to stand up for the good name of Rex Lapis. Really, he wasn’t so shameless as you made him out to be, at least he didn’t think he was. But before he could respond, you continued.
“That’s not all though…” you started again.
Oh no.
“A while ago, I told Meng and the Ferrylady that Rex Lapis wasn’t a self-absorbed narcissist, but…”
Oh no…
“I was talking to Sir Yun the other day of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe? I always knew that Rex Lapis enjoyed the troupe’s shows, but did you know he starred in a few of them? As a warrior, she said. And as you know, Rex Lapis is known as the Warrior God. So that means he basically played himself in operas singing songs about… himself. Can you imagine doing that? How…”
Tears came to your eyes.
“Cringe.”
He resisted the urge to clear his throat.
“Though records say he may have taken part in those operas, I can’t recall Miss Yun stating he starred as himself,” he began. “The assumption he did so is mere conjecture at best.”
That last part slipped from his tongue before he could rein it back in. You never took kindly when his opinions differed from yours, and yet… Well, perhaps he was feeling if not a little attacked. The Yun-Han Opera Troupe had a long history, after all. They certainly would not be more the wiser if some tales became embellished over the years. He thought out of all people you would be more aware of that than most.
Thankfully, much to his relief, you were. Instead of taking to anger like you usually did, you nodded obediently.
“That’s true. I hope you’re right,” you replied with a hopeful smile. “Madame Ping said that not even the great Cloud Retainer watches operas about herself. It’s too embarrassing.”
He did clear his throat that time.
“I suppose not everyone enjoys hearing tales of their past,” he finally let out.
You nodded.
“I’m glad at least she agrees with me that only weird and abnormal people do things like that,” you let out with a bit of relief. “I was getting worried I’m the only person that feels that way…”
He only smiled in response, ignoring the fact that Cloud Retainer only said that it was “embarrassing,” not “weird” or “abnormal.” You really did not hesitate to deal your blows, did you?
“You know what the worst thing is, though?” You asked, looking up at him imploringly. “Legend has it that the gods are able to change their physical forms. There are even tales of Rex Lapis taking a female form. But… out of all the records, there are no depictions of his female form, only that she had amber eyes.”
Zhongli frowned in thought. Though he heard and understood your words well, he didn’t know what was the wrong in what you said. The tales of Rex Lapis were often embellished, especially in the way they painted him as the type to change his form often. The truth of the matter was far from that. Not that he could tell you that, of course. But before he could respond in any way, your eyes became filled with tears.
“I mean, he obviously didn’t mind leaving evidence of his male visage. And as I told you before, he made sure he looked good in every one of them. So if he was narcissistic enough to do that, why not leave anything behind of his female form? You… You don’t think… she was UGLY, do you?” You cried in pain.
If his brain didn’t shut down before, it definitely did then. But not noticing, you continued on.
“That’s the only reason I can come up with. Rex Lapis shares his beauty with everyone, after all, so she must have been so ugly that a narcissist like him couldn’t bear for others to see!” You sobbed.
Every word that left your mouth felt like a blow to his ego. Was this truly what you thought about him?
“So do you see why my faith has been shaken? If we try to view him as a person, Rex Lapis was a simple-minded conceited weirdo that was so ashamed of his female form he wiped any and all traces of her depiction out of existence.”
He couldn’t do this anymore.
“While the tales of the past may be rooted in truth, it’s important to realize they are only that. Tales. Nothing more. As it is, we simply do not know how much we can take as fact. So I would not let it bother you too much, First,” he stated in a matter-of-fact manner.
Though you looked as if you had more to say, you slowly nodded once, then once again with more surety.
“You’re right. I guess I’m looking far too into this. Surely if the great Rex Lapis was revered by so many, even the adepti, he must have been worthy of the respect. I just need to remember that,” you replied bashfully. “I’m sorry to have piled this all on you, Zhongli.”
He shook his head with a chuckle.
“It is alright. I am glad to be your voice of reason.”
Laughing in return, you nodded.
“Yes, thank you. And well, I guess it could be worse, I suppose. Madame Ping was always respectful to Rex Lapis in her stories. She could’ve said that he was the kind of person with… I don’t know. No common sense or something. Like could you imagine if he was the type of person that thought it was a smart idea to bring square cups instead of circle to a party?” You asked with a laugh. “Now that would be horrifying.”
……
Yes, you certainly had a way with words.

can I request rindou with a reader who doesn't show her jealousy so rindou tries to get her jealous and then she gets insecure? and Rindou trying to comfort her? Thank you!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REQUESTING!!

You were never the type to be jealous since you believed that jealousy only cracked the trust between two people, especially in relationship.
But the way your friend was talking to Rindou, trying to touch him somehow, made you feel the feeling you were trying to ignore the whole time of you being in the club with your boyfriend.
You ignored her tries and rather focused on how Rindou would react. You weren't jealous, not really because you trusted Rindou.
"Rindou! Could we dance together?" Your friend asked him, clinging onto his arm. "You know it's my birthday today~could you be my gift for tonight?"
The entire time, she just was not stopping trying to get Rindou's attention but it didn't get you feeling irritated, rather than tired. You were confident that Rindou would turn her down. That is, until you heard his answer.
"Sure, why not?"
What?
You thought you heard him wrong but when you looked at him, he was already willingly being dragged to the dance floor and the sound of Ran choking on his drink confirmed it even more.
He really agreed.
But why??
He even refused to dance with you just 3 minutes ago, saying that he was too tired to dance. But he wasn't tired for her?
They got on the dance floor as the DJ started playing different song and all the couples started dancing. Yet you were just sitting with a drink in your hand, still shocked by the situation.
"You can dance with me, dear." Ran smiled at you, clearly trying to cheer you up somehow. You politely turned him down and just continue drinking the alcohol.
Maybe you couldn't but Ran could see Rindou glancing at your way while dancing with your friend. So he was trying to make you jealous, after all.
Was it working?
Definitely not.
Rather you felt insecure and judged. Everyone in this bar knew you were Rindou's girlfriend, so of course they gave you confused stares when Rindou danced with another girl.
You glanced at him and he genuinely looked like he was having fun, like he actually preferred dancing with your friend rather than with you, his own girlfriend.
Not caring how others would take your behaviour, you just left the club. He clearly didn't need you to have fun, so why bother staying? He obviously preferred her.
You get in your car and was about to drive but somebody knocked on your window. It was Rindou.
You bit your cheek from inside. Were you really ready to talk to him now? But you didn't have much time to consider answering that question, because he already got in your car.
"Why are you leaving? The party isn't over yet." He asked, obviously pretending to be dumb.
"What is the point of me being there?" You returned the question, not daring to look at him yet. For some reason, you were on the verge of tears and you hated that. You didn't want to cry in front of him.
"Maybe because it's your friend's birthday?" He said that as if it was the most obvious that you should have known. He looked completely unbothered, like he did nothing wrong and you were just being upset over nothing.
"Well, I'm not having fun." You shrugged. You just wanted to leave him there and go to home already, not the apartment that you two shared, but your own house. You just wanted to get out of this situation already. Wanting to escape the heavy feeling of insecurity, that you just weren't good enough for him.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"what's wrong?!" You snapped, finally facing him and Rindou just got to see your teary eyes, the guilt of his actions crashing his heart immediately. "You just completely ignored me the entire time, declined my dance BUT accepted to dance with the other woman. And now you're asking what's wrong?!"
"I..." Rindou was at loss of words. He might have want to make you jealous but he should have considered the possibility that he would make you upset instead. "I'm sorry."
The silence fell between you two, the urge to cry was getting so strong. "Was I just...Not good enough-"
"No!" He cut you off. "I'm sorry I was just trying to make you jealous." He confessed, not daring to look at you in the eye as he lowered his head in shame. "I haven't considered the fact that I'd make you upset instead. I'm so sorry, [name]."
You just listened to him without saying anything.
"I know this was very selfish of me. I should have taken your feelings into the consideration. And, of course, I understand that you're angry at me--rightfully so. Just know that you're more than good enough, okey? The issue isn't with you." He finally meet your gaze, still feeling hesitant to do so.
You shook your head in disbelief. "you're an idiot."
"I know."
"A dumbass."
"True."
"You'll wash the dishes." You said, starting your car.
"Okey." He said with a smile.
"And not wash yourself in the process." You added, looking at him with expected expression while he got hesitant, as if he was caught.
"I...Will try..?"
You chuckled and started driving. He then spoke again. "And yeah, I won't do that again."
"Okey." You said. Yes he might have upset you but it was almost impossible to stay mad at him.
That night, he showered you with kisses, whispering sweet things in your ear.

I HOPE YOU LIKED THIS!
Again, thank you for a request!!

On the Sharp Edge of a Blade Lucien & Eris Drabble (ft. Elucien Angst) - 1k words
He found Lucien alone in the manor, a half-finished glass of whiskey in hand.  “Allow me to guess,” Eris carefully seated himself in the armchair next to him, facing the fire. “Another unsuccessful evening in the Night Court?”
Read on Ao3 or Below Divider by @tsunami-of-tears
He found Lucien alone in the manor, a half-finished glass of whiskey in hand.
Typically when Eris stopped by the mortal lands to meet with his youngest brother, their conversations were pointed, an efficient exchange of only necessary information. There were no pleasantries by nature of their shared blood and history, perhaps there might never have been between the brothers. Which is why the words were both stiff and strange on his tongue as Eris faced Lucien.
“Is everything alright?”
His brother sat upon a large armchair, staring into the dancing flames inside the fireplace, not even bothering to glance at his arrival. There was no Jurian or Vassa to be found in the human manor. It was bleak on this side of the wall, even with the fire burning in the room. Warmth only met the emptiness of the room, vanishing without a trace. It wasn’t the kind of place he imagined for his youngest brother.
“I’m not in the mood tonight,” Lucien said, followed by another sip of his amber colored drink.
There was only one kind of sorrow that could affect Lucien in such a matter, to the point of bitter, cracked numbness—afflictions of the heart. For when it came to Lucien, it was always the condition of love that plagued the male. In this case, it was undoubtedly his mate.
“Allow me to guess,” Eris carefully seated himself in the armchair next to him, facing the fire. “Another unsuccessful evening in the Night Court?”
Lucien answered with a low, sardonic laugh. The ice clinked in his drink as he brought it to his lips for another swallow. Eris remained entirely still, waiting for him to confirm his most obvious observations.
“I think I’d prefer if she would just reject the bond. Get it over with and relieve me of the misery.”
Eris cocked his head slightly, his lips pressing into a thin frown. For most of Lucien’s life, his reputation across Pyrthian had been painted with broad, flattering strokes of his rakish charm, his troublesome tongue, and his beauty. It had been no secret and had begun early in the Autumn Court, and they had even followed him to Spring for some time, even after his exile. Even after Amarantha and her punishment. But these days even Eris was well aware of his brother’s current reputation—of a sad, miserable mate pining after his female.
“Then why do you keep castigating yourself and trying?” Eris asked quietly, though sharply, like the fine edge of a blade piercing into flesh. “Why do you keep returning to their horrid court if she does not want you?”
Lucien looked at him. His russet eye smoldered and his mechanical orb whirred, as if it were looking for something deep inside Eris. No, as if it were pleading with him. Pleading to avoid admitting the truth and hoped to find a semblance of mercy. But Eris did not waver in his gaze, as if that action alone could forcibly push the blade deeper into his brother’s wound until he talked.
He sighed, his stare slowly dragging to the crackling fire.
“Even when she will not speak to me, will not so much as look in my direction, I feel as though I cannot stop—will never be able to stop—showing up on her doorstep with a present and my terrified heart filled with mangled hope. Because—”
The pain etched across his features exacerbated the scar spliced down his face. Eris hated this moment. He hated everything about it.
“I fear if I stop going she will forget me entirely,” Lucien finally said, and he couldn’t hide the quiver in his words.
Eris steeled himself. To prevent himself from casting Lucien a look of pity.
Lucien cleared his throat, staring into the bottom of his drink before finishing it all in one gulp. “On the other hand, I also fear what would become of me—of the madness they say befalls the male.”
The fire flared at that, a small tell that Eris was displeased. He crossed one leg over his knee and curled his lip. “You would be fine, Lucien. You would survive.”
“I’m not quite sure how I would ever be happy again—”
“Being happy is for children,” Eris snapped at him. “When you have a blade buried in your gut, happiness is the least of your concerns. You either pull the blade out and bleed out or you keep it in—to survive. You learn to live with the pain. Life finds a way around.”
Lucien set his glass on the table. A few empty bottles clinked at the movement.
“How can you be so sure?”
He narrowed his eyes at his brother, unused to being questioned. But there had been more than just time and distance between the two brothers in the last few centuries.
“Because you are a Vanserra,” Eris stated matter-of-factly. He picked up one of the whiskey bottles and pretended to inspect the label with lazy interest to avoid witnessing Lucien’s reaction. “Whether you like it or not.”
He settled the glass bottle back on the table, forcing himself to meet Lucien’s penetrating stare. It was full of longing and crestfallen hope on the precipice of devastation. The Vanserra name brought his little brother no comfort—it never had.
“And if mother can survive it, then so can you,” Eris said softly.
There it was. The unspoken truth they had never so much dared to broach their entire existence. A secret so dangerous it would ruin their mother if ever discovered by Beron. The Lady of Autumn and her broken, unsettled mating bond to another High Lord. Eris was decidedly not a fool and he never had been one before in his life. Yet in that moment, he couldn’t be anything else to even whisper a mere mention of it simply to alleviate the pain on Lucien’s face.
His brother nodded, understanding washing over him.
Eris stood to his feet, as if Autumn were warning him to return before he did anything else moronic. Something gnawed at him to not leave Lucien behind, but he was already heading to the door, the magic of his winnowing abilities singing through his body with every step, readying to escape.
Before he could leave, he stilled and looked over his shoulder.
“She would have done it by now. For what it’s worth,” Eris called out. Lucien looked up, his brows furrowed in confusion. “If that’s what she wanted—a rejection. I don’t think she would have waited all this time.”
Several heartbeats passed before Lucien made a motion as if he were pulling out an invisible dagger from his chest. It was exactly the confirmation he needed to know that he would be alright getting drunk alone for the rest of the evening.
“You should go,” Lucien said, leaning back into his chair. “Before your reputation as a cold-hearted bastard is effectively ruined.”
Eris laughed, even as he vanished into darkness.

prologue: face: songs: 1  2  3  4
You kissed your child’s head, ruffling the short chestnut locks. Your kid’s hair was slightly different than yours—Texture wise—also lightening or darkening further in various settings. However, you only realized that because you were his mother, and it was basically your job to know everything about your son.
There was laughter and quieted screams meeting your ears; other children and childcare workers who were playing in the background as you were just finishing dropping him off.
“I’ll see you after work, Jae. I'll bring you the cupcake you like, okay?”
Jae grabbed your face with soft hands, pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek and then bringing you into a hug. You stood up and watched as he skipped off, joining a group who he’s expressed (with the confirmation of the childcare workers) are his best friends.
You were always beyond proud of your son for being able to spread so much love to the world, despite not having the smoothest upbringing—or frankly, an example of unconditional love (despite yours for him). You wanted to feel proud of yourself, but knew that it was all Jae’s interpretation of the world around him. He loved everyone and everything; in the purest form, he found beauty. He was the best kid you’ve ever met, but maybe you were just biased.
“He’s truly a beautiful kid, looks just like you.” You met eyes with the woman who worked the sign-in and out desk. “Laughs and smiles all the time; Gets along with everyone… Even the kids that people don’t seem to gravitate towards. He hates to see them left out. Good job with him, miss y/n.”
“Thank you.” You replied, forcing a smile to surface. You couldn’t help the bittersweet feeling that left a lump in your throat. You knew exactly why it always bothered you though; he looks just like you. But nobody knew he looked almost uncanny to his father at this age. He didn’t have your eyes, nor mouth, nor cheekbones. All Jae had, in your eyes, was part of your personality and nose.
You tried time and time again, staring at your son as he’d nap, to find what people would point-out. But you never did, and that seemed to bother you more than you’d like to admit. So, what should’ve been a compliment was always hard for you to swallow.
“I’ll see you at five-thirty!”
She nodded behind the desk. “He’ll be all ready for you.”
You let the door swing behind you, a slight shake to your hands as you found your keys. It was beginning to look and feel like spring, and soon the cherry blossoms would bloom, meaning you’d have your annual outing with Jae to see them before they fell. You’d take a day off work and keep him home from preschool, taking him out for lunch and ice cream, letting him play at the nearby park after until his little heart's contempt.
You loved that day, and you looked forward to it all year round. It was peace of mind, and there seemed like little responsibility when it was just you two enjoying life.
The days seemed to pass slowly nowadays, and maybe that was because now that you were getting older, you were repeating the same routine like clockwork. It was a never-ending Groundhog’s Day, where you could only hope to find the escape to the time-loop.
The car came to a stop, and you put it in park quickly after. Your head fell atop your chilled hands that gripped the steering wheel still. You let out a sigh, a breath that forever seemed to be stuck in your lungs. As you collected yourself, you also collected your purse from the passenger seat, taking your keys and clenching them tightly.
The beep of a car locking was familiar to you as it met your ears, causing you to turn and look. Meeting your sights was the black vehicle that belonged to your coworker, as well as said person, who hadn’t noticed you yet.
“Wonwoo?” You asked, slightly confused as to why he was scheduled at the same time as you on a Monday, rather than a Friday or Wednesday; like usual, however, your shifts overlapped quite often.
His sharp, cat-like features were on full display, glasses within his forefinger and thumb as he cleaned the lenses. He was wearing dark-washed, wide leg jeans, and a white T-shirt—One that looked as if he had bought it recently—His hair was falling effortlessly, only moving slightly with the gentle gusts of wind.
You always thought he looked like the lead of a drama, a sought after actor that attended fashion shows and got awards, not someone who worked at a bakery, like you.
You had started working before him, right after you had dropped out of Seoul University, 7 weeks into your pregnancy with Jae. You were a confused, hormonal, soon-to-be mother who had no one to rely on. But you always thought that Wonwoo deserved more than what he was left with, and sometimes you regretted not being that comfort for him, as he always was for you.
He’d run to the convenience store, mid-shift, just because you kept talking about triangle kimbap or a watermelon bar. He’d cover for you when you’d get ill and run to the bathroom with a hand slapped over your face. And when your due date got closer, he’d walk you to your car just to help you get in comfortably.
You two weren’t even far off in age, and maybe that’s why you knew deep down it was because he pitied your circumstance: Single, pregnant, and borderline suicidal. All your plans had been thrown out like trash the moment you took the test, the moment you fought with your ex, breaking up after 4 years together.
Every single promise for a better life—A happy life—Was washed away with the rain. And even if you weren’t technically alone, you felt as if the world had shut you out. Now it’s been 4 years, and you’ve gotten used to the feeling of uncertainty. You lived for Jae, and that always should’ve been enough. However, you felt guilty for thinking of a time when he didn’t exist, when he wasn’t even a thought in the back of your mind. If you could go back in time, you were sure you wouldn’t change anything, because Jae was your lifeline, the one thing in this world that kept you going. But, the tears that streamed down your face on particularly painful nights told a different side to you, one that mirrored the 22 year old who got shattered and left to become nothing but dust.
You couldn’t help but think that life would’ve been easier if you were prepared for it. If you had Jae when you were 26 or 27 like you had planned on. If you had finished your business degree and opened your own company with your boyfriend. Life would’ve been smooth sailing. But instead, you were left with barely enough money to keep the lights on, and many cupcakes to keep a smile on your son’s face after long shifts.
“Are you okay?” The voice broke you from the painful thoughts that plagued your subconscious. “Y/n? Is it Jae, is he okay?”
You nodded in an unconstant pattern, slowly moving your head up to level your eyes. Your eyebrows creased slightly, but that was only because you were having a hard time pushing your mind in the right direction.
“Yeah, he’s fine.”
“Are you?” He approached you as you leaned against the driver’s door. “Did something happen?”
His concern would’ve seemed out of character if you didn’t know him, but turned down lips and straight faces were only surface level. He might’ve looked cold, but you’ve never met anyone warmer.
“Just tired, that’s all.” You replied, crossing your arms. Your bag hung against your front and you wondered the time. You weren’t running late after dropping Jae off, but even if you were, your manager for the night was standing in front of you—And, Wonwoo would never write you up. “Been thinking a lot recently… Well, we should go in and help Minjoon before she scolds us.”
He laughed. “She is a terrifying highschooler.”
“Scariest I've ever met.” You mimicked a shiver, pushing off the metal and awaiting Wonwoo to join you. “I can already see her glare.”
He did promptly, holding the glass door open for you. You brushed past him, viewing the many people lined up and a seething highschool girl at the register; Whether it was because you were technically 3 minutes late or because of a customer was up for interpretation.
You apologized silently as you made eye-contact with the girl, walking around the open corner of the front desk and to the back to put your stuff away. There were various lockers, each having a name for the employees of the bakery—Not that there were that many to begin with.
You opened the one with your whiteboard-markered name, and put your purse on the shelf. Inside there was a picture of you and Jae as well as an old note from Minjoon that read I hope all is well, but I'm going to kill you, because you were late, much like today. However that day it was because Jae was sick and whining about everything; His babysitter had given him the flu earlier that week.
Of course though, Wonwoo covered for you when you called in tears. And after he even brought some food to your apartment, which was across town from his own, and let you vent in your dimly-lit kitchen until way too late. He even took your shift when you caught the virus from your son sneezing in your face.
You sighed again, shutting the door closed with the quiet bang of metal on metal. Your hand clutched where your heart would be if it wasn’t scared out of your chest.
On the other side was Minjoon, who was leisurely propped against her own locker. “You two came in together. You’re both late… Together?”
She eyed you as you tried to explain, “We met in the parking lot.” And even though it was the truth, she made you feel as if it wasn’t. Her arms were crossed, looking awfully like your mother would have if she was still around. “We just walked in together, don’t get the wrong idea.”
“Oh, why would I?” She voiced, nose turned to the ceiling. “It definitely wouldn’t be because you two are always together, and Wonwoo would do literally anything for you. No, that would be ridiculous to think.” You deadpanned, knowing it was true, but a misunderstanding. You didn’t like Wonwoo, you don’t see how you could, considering your situation. “If I didn’t know you two I would think Jae was his.”
Your heart sank, and maybe it was the insinuation of people making assumptions that hurt you. Did Jae need a father to be valid in other people’s eyes? That’s probably not what she meant, but nonetheless it’s where your head went.
“It’s not a bad thing, but if you two start dating, please don’t let me catch you guys making out in here. I’d have to bill you for therapy, and then quit.”
You mimicked her lean. “God forbid you don’t have any money to buy albums. What would you do without your Jungkook photocards?”
“Die.” She replied simply. “I’d die.”
Before you had a chance to call her dramatic, Wonwoo popped through the door.
“Could you guys help me? It’s about to be time for our morning rush.”
You jumped off the locker, hustling out the door to assist your manager with the heaps of business men and women on their commute to work, or influencers looking for a pretty picture. You rarely had the in between, but sometimes on a blue moon, you’d get the random straggler who just wanted a sweet treat.
“I rest my case!” You heard being shouted as you let the door close behind you. “It would just be a crazy thought, wouldn’t it!”
You met his side, taking the filled cup from his hand and putting a lid on it. “Sorry.” You took over the last of the three drinks, thankful it was simply just a black coffee.
“Gonna have to start writing you up for being so distracting, y/n.” He joked, grabbing a croissant and placing it within a brown wax bag. You smiled apologetically. “I’ll go do the register.”
“Are you sure? I could get Minjoon to do it again.”
You nodded, placing a comforting hand against his arm. “No, it’s okay. I’ll do it, it’ll distract me from my thoughts.”
Wonwoo reluctantly agreed, because he may technically be your boss but you rarely listened to him, and he knew it was no use arguing if it was only going to lead to you doing it anyway. You appreciated his sentiment, and his eagerness to make sure you were comfortable, however it was almost always at his or someone else’s expense.
You were an adult—A big girl—Who should be able to handle a little bit of stress. But maybe Wonwoo knew you were just a ticking time-bomb, awaiting that last second before you exploded. He seemingly knew you well enough after four years.  Everything might’ve been getting a little too much recently, and yes, maybe you felt lost sometimes, but you, in reality, had no will to give up. Not when it was Jae at risk—He already didn’t have a father, why would you leave him motherless as well? He was just as big a priority to you a little over 4 years ago, as he is today. You’d sacrifice everything for your child. And, truthfully, you didn’t know if that was a good or bad thing.

‘Me and My Husband’
Wc: 3.9k
Cw: nonconsensual drug use, brief message of SA
An: if you’ve seen this fic before… yeah that was me i accidentally deleted my tumblr acc cuz i didn’t know deleting ONE blog deletes all of them… oops… i also wrote that spider-man gojo fic WHICH I WILL REWRITE AND REUPLOAD
Tumblr media
Being engaged to Satoru Gojo was nothing short of perfect. You both completely trusted each other, you were completely in love, you rarely ever argued, and if you did, it was over the simplest of things and you’d both end up laughing at the end of it.
The only problem was his family. They didn’t approve of your ranking as a grade 3 sorcerer and they didn’t like how you chose to spend your time as a sweets maker, instead of trying to become at minimum, a grade 1. You had the potential, they were aware of that, but you just chose not to try and promote your rank. They saw your actions as rebellious and an embarrassment to sorcerers.
When you first started dating Satoru, they all laughed in your face, saying your relationship was nothing more than a fling, but once Satoru announced he had proposed to you, hell broke loose.
They condemned it, they hated it, they even sent you threats, stating if you didn’t break off the engagement, they’d ruin your life.
Satoru always told you to never worry about them. He’d always choose you over his family, and of course, you trusted him.
“Ugh, do you have to go?” Satoru had gotten a call, another mission he had to oversee, since no one else could be trusted enough to take care of it.
He laughed at your grumbling. “I wish I didn’t, but you know how it is.”
You threw your head back on the couch and let out a deep sigh. “Yeah, I know… I just wish we could spend every day together.”
“Become a grade 1 and then we can go on missions everyday together.” He sat down next to you and placed his hand on your thigh.
You placed your hand on top of his. “Very funny, Satoru.”
You felt your phone buzzing and you quickly glanced at it, but the messages weren’t from anyone in your contacts.
2 New Messages From An Unsaved Number
hey it’s mei-mei
let’s go out tonight. just the two of us.
“It’s… Mei-Mei. Why would she be asking me to hang out?”
“Change of heart? I say give her a chance.”
“I don’t know… this feels random. She’s never liked me, Satoru, why would I believe she all of a sudden is a changed person?
“I think you’re acting way too paranoid.” You gave him a light smack on his forehead. He pouted at you as he rubbed it better. “Come on! It’s been forever since you’ve gone out, hasn’t it? Go have fun!”
You groaned with annoyance knowing he wouldn’t stop persisting. “Okay… only because you’re irritating me.” He gave you a smile and kissed your cheek before standing up.
“I guess I’ll see you later tonight. Have a great time baby.” Satoru gave you one last kiss before leaving.
Once you heard the door close, you flopped down onto the couch. You didn’t like the idea of hanging out with Mei-Mei, especially since it’d be just the two of you. There was a bad feeling growing in your gut, but you pushed it down because you told Satoru you’d have fun. You sent her a confirmation text and you felt your phone buzz a couple minutes later, but you didn’t even bother looking at it.
Slowly, you rose up from the couch and started getting ready. You didn’t bother doing much since you didn’t really care how Mei-Mei perceived you nor did you care about impressing anyone there. You were doing this for Satoru and Satoru only.
She sent you the address to a bar nearly half an hour away, so you decided to call an Uber instead of having her pick you up.
The bar was extremely busy, the only reason you were able to spot her was because of her bright hair.
You tapped her shoulder and let out a small hi. She let out a small gasp and gave you a smile before giving you a bone-crushing hug. “Go find us a table, I’ll get us drinks!” She left before you could even say anything, so you simply obliged.
You sat at an empty table and let out a shaky breath. You wanted to calm down, you wanted to have a good time, but this still felt strange.
She came back and slammed two glasses on the table, sliding one over to you.
“I wasn’t planning on drinking…”
“Come on~ one drink won’t hurt…”
“…Okay.” You took the shot from her and downed it immediately. It burned your throat, making you wince. There was a slight salty taste, but you ignored it, thinking maybe alcohol just tastes like that now. You rarely ever went out to bars or clubs, since Satoru was a lightweight and couldn’t get past two drinks. Mei-Mei giggled at your reaction and took her shot soon after.
“I’m gonna get us some more~.”
“N-no Mei-Mei, please I had the one drink, I think that’s enough.”
“What? You don’t want to have some more fun with your friend?”
“I… I’m gonna find the bathroom.” You quickly left your seat and walked forward, not even knowing if you were headed the right way. You eventually found the line for it and waited.
Once it was your turn, you felt yourself get lightheaded, must’ve been one hell of a shot Mei-Mei gave you.
You finished using the restroom and tried finding Mei-Mei, but couldn’t spot her. Every step you took had you stumbling, you couldn’t even stand up straight. You’ve only had one drink… Why was it affecting you this much?
You spotted white hair in the middle of a group of people, and you let out a sigh of relief. You hoped Mei-Mei could take you home since you felt so strange.
You pushed through the crowd to reach her, but once you did, it wasn’t her you saw.
“S-Satoru? Why are you h-here? … at work…” The words that could leave your mouth came out slurred and mumbled. The music started sounding extremely muffled, every blink you took made your vision blurrier. Satoru kept fading in and out, eventually, someone grabbed your arm and pulled you outside.
Your eyes shut. Once they opened again, you were inside a house, but you couldn’t tell who it belonged to.
Everything felt foggy, you felt nauseous. You wanted to stand, you tried to.
But you must’ve fallen, since the next time you had opened your eyes, you were blinded by the sun’s rays.
The first thing you felt was pain. Your head was throbbing and the light wasn’t making it any better. You rubbed your temples for any sort of relief, but to no avail.
You slowly opened your eyes, hoping they’d adjust to the light. Blink by blink, the light wasn’t so harsh anymore and you could fully open them. You looked around and didn’t recognize where you were.
Satoru. I need to call him. You looked around for your phone, but as you looked down, you weren’t in the clothes you put on last night. Instead, you wore an oversized shirt and sweats, clearly belonging to a man. A sick feeling grew in your stomach. There’s no way in hell…
“Mornin’.” A deep voice caused a shiver to run down your spine. Every worst case scenario went through your mind.
“W-who are you? Where am I?” He handed you two pills, but you refused to take them, you didn’t even know who he was.
The man only rolled his eyes at you before dropping the pills onto the coffee table. “They’re painkillers. Take ‘em’ or don’t, I don’t care.”
“How did I get here… did we…did you…” Sleeping in the house of a stranger scared you enough, but the possibility of him also taking advantage of you, made your heart almost stop.
“No. We didn’t have sex, I didn’t even touch you. The most we ‘did’ was me liftin’ your body off the floor.”
“Did you see the girl I was with? She has white hair-
“Yeah, she left. She came with us last night, but she was gone before I even woke up. Hell of a friend you got.” He walked to another room and came back out with a bag. “Here’s your shit. You should leave soon.” You only nodded to him before he left you alone again.
At the top of the bag was your phone, which thankfully, had enough battery to last you until you got home. There were 27 missed calls from Satoru alone, and a couple of others from your friends. You’d call them once you got home, right now you just wanted to hear Satoru. You dialed his number, but it immediately went to voicemail.
You didn’t think much of it. His phone was probably dead, you were always the one that plugged it in at night. You’d see him soon, so you simply ordered a ride home
You unlocked the front door, but it was eerily quiet inside. He was probably still asleep, he always woke up late.
You walked towards your room, the door was slightly cracked open, but you could see a figure inside, “Satoru?” Once you opened it all the way, you saw it was him and let all your things fall to the floor. You missed him so much, you just wanted him to hold you.
He had his blindfold on, which was extremely out of character, he rarely wore it around you anymore. He was sitting on your guy’s bed and stared at the wall ahead of him, not even glancing at you. “You’re back.” His tone was cold and his voice was meak, the complete opposite of what you had expected.
“Yeah… I am.” You approached him for a hug, but he stood up and immediately backed away from you. “Satoru? What’s wrong with you?”
“Yeah, what’s wrong with me… the fuck is wrong with me…” He let out a dry laugh. Everything about him was confusing you. “What exactly did you do last night?”
“I… I don’t remember. I met up with Mei-Mei, I had a drink, then everything after that is… blurry.”
“What were you doing with Toji?”
“Who’s Toji?”
“So you don’t even know the man who you slept with last night. That’s fucking amazing.”
“What are you talking about? I didn’t sleep with anyone!”
He pulled out his phone and walked towards you. Satoru made you hold it as he swiped. On the screen was a picture of you getting pulled out of the bar by a man and you getting into that same man’s car. You recognized the man, you woke up in his house this morning. You started laughing at Satoru. “Is that Toji? Are you two friends? Wait… you both set this up to prank me! Oh~ you really got me.” You continued laughing, but as you looked at his face, he didn’t find this the slightest bit of amusing, making you stop.
He snatched his phone from your hand before inhaling deeply, “and whose clothes are you wearing?”
“I don’t know. I woke up like this.”
He pinched the bridge of his nose and groaned, “and you keep lying to me, even though I already know…”
“Already know what?” Your voice grew louder, angrier. “You don’t… believe me?”
“How am I supposed to!? There’s pictures, the clothes you’re wearing, Mei-Mei called and told me everything that happened.” Hearing her name made you pause…
Mei-Mei…
“You believe Mei-Mei over me? Satoru, you know she’s been oddly obsessed with you since you’ve known her.” You threw an accusing finger at him.
He only glared at your finger, and at you. “I’ve also known her longer than you. She’s given me evidence that you cheated on me, so is believing her really the craziest thing right now?” You were taken aback by his words. He had never doubted you before, but now he was believing Mei-Mei of all people.
“So is that what’s going on? Is this your lame ass way to end things with me, so you can go and have her? Is that why you were so insistent on me going out?” He rolled his eyes and scoffed at you.
“Don’t try turning this on me ‘cuz you can’t own up and admit you’re a whore now.” You lifted your hand to slap him, but your hand never made contact with his skin. His infinity was on. Satoru didn’t even trust you enough to have it off around you anymore.
You scoffed, tears were building in your eyes, but you refused to let them fall. You let out a shaky breath, “okay… I’ll admit to being a whore once you admit you were too pussy to end things with me, so you called your side bitch for help.”
“My family was right, I should’ve never proposed to you.” That was the last straw for you.
“Yeah, they were right.” You started gathering your things, but as you tried walking past him, he grabbed your arm to stop you.
“I already packed my things. You have my number right?” He let go of you and started walking out of the room, “make sure to get rid of it.” He walked further away and you eventually heard the front door slam shut.
Everything that just happened hit you all at once, finally breaking you. At first, you felt so betrayed, so angry. You threw the framed picture of him you kept on your nightstand against the wall, shattering it. Anything that even reminded you of him was broken. Once your rampage was over, you fell to your knees and started wailing, screamed until your voice was gone, you could barely breathe at this point.
You weren’t sure if you even wanted to.
Your entire life, the love of your life, gone.
Just like that.
A few days passed, you’d wake up hoping it was a nightmare, but the other side of the bed was always empty. He’s in the bathroom… he just woke up before me.
You’d get up to use the bathroom, but of course, it was empty, not even his toothbrush was there.
He was gone, and every time you came to that realization again, you’d break down sobbing.
A week passed. You knew he wouldn’t be there. You knew he wasn’t coming back. It still hurt, but you had to get use to it.
Word got out to your friends that you’d broken up, and they all sided with him. No one came to check up on you. It sucked, but you grew to understand it.
Three knocks sounded from the door. They were faint, almost hesitant. At first, you thought you imagined them, but then you heard them again, this time, a lot louder.
You opened the door to see the very man who had caused this depressive episode. Just seeing him made your knees almost buckle. Various emotions coursed through your body; rage, shame, sorrow, but worst of all, love.
You wanted to throw yourself back into his arms, for him to cradle you and say everything’s okay. You needed his warmth against yours and to bring you back the comfort you’ve been yearning for since he left.
But that wasn’t possible. Nothing he could say would fix what he’d done to you. His immediate response being to leave you, told you how much you really meant to him. He was so quick to push you away, like these last couple of years together truly meant nothing to him. It hurt to think about all the empty promises he had given you when he proposed.
How he promised to cherish you forever. How he swore to endlessly love you no matter what. How he’d choose to relive this lifetime over and over again if it meant being with you and only you.
The longer you stared into his eyes, the more you wanted to bawl. All of those happy memories you had with him flooded your mind, nearly drowning you into submission.
A lifetime had passed before you decided to be the one to break the silence. “Why are you here?” Your voice was laced with venom, making him rethink everything he wanted to say to you.
“I… I needed to see you again.” He could barely even look at you. Ironic. He knew he had caused you all of this pain and he wanted so badly to just hold you once more. “Can I come in?”
You exhaled before answering him, this didn’t feel real, you weren’t sure if you wanted it to be. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.” His eyes pleaded to be let in, making it hard for you to refuse. You opened the door a little wider and let him walk past you. You closed the door behind him and stayed facing it.
“We need to talk.”
“I don’t think there’s much else to say.”
He tried turning you to face him, but you wouldn’t move. “Please. Just give me 5 minutes and then you can slap me, kick me, scream at me, I don’t care, please just… listen to me for a bit.”
You sighed. “5 minutes.” He let out a breath and thanked you. You ignored him and you both walked over to the living room.
You sat down and waited for him to start. He was nervous, he wouldn’t stop pacing around.
This was getting on your nerves. “Time’s ticking.”
“I found out my family had paid Mei-Mei to set you up. They paid her to drug you, and they paid Toji to take you home. I talked to Toji and he said he wasn’t aware of this plan they had set up. All he was told was to take you and Mei-Mei to his place and that’s what he did.” He said that all within a single breath.
Everything that had happened that night came back to you and what he just told you, explained everything.
It explained why you got drunk so easily, why you ended up in Toji’s car, why you woke up the next day with different clothes on, and why Mei-Mei had that picture of you and Toji together.
To say you were pissed was an understatement.
“You believed everyone else over me, over your own fucking fiancée.”
“Mei-Mei showed me proof! How am I supposed to believe words over that?” He threw his hands into the air out of frustration.
“Because they were my words! When have I ever fucking lied to you, Satoru?!” He was stunned into silence and you took a deep breath before you continued.
“When you proposed to me, I thought that meant we could trust one another, that we understood each other, that we were in love, but I see that I was wrong. You believed the bitch that’s been trying to get at you since high school. You chose the family that you shit talked more times than you’ve told me you loved me. All of them… over me.”
He was at a loss for words. He felt like the biggest idiot alive. Satoru knew he had made the worst mistake possible, believing others before you, and he could see that now.
Before, he was so blinded with anger, he was so hurt by you, he thought he had hated you. He even blamed himself, thinking you had cheated on him because he didn't care about you or didn’t appreciate you enough. He didn’t even stop to consider you were telling the truth.
You tore your eyes away from his body, knowing if you even caught a glance of him, you’d never say what needed to be said. “Maybe… maybe this is for the best. You need someone equally as strong alongside you. Someone who can pick up from where you may fall short, not someone weak, who drags you down alongside them. Maybe your family doing this was the right thing to do. You need to find someone better.”
Every word you spoke tore his heart apart. He hated hearing you belittle yourself, how you thought leaving him is what’s best, and how the both of you knew, you didn’t believe a single word that came out of your mouth.
He grabbed onto your hands and tried getting you to look at him, but you wouldn’t budge. “But there isn’t someone better. I don’t need to find anyone else… I need you. I can’t imagine my life without you, I don’t even know how I managed to live before I met you. You’re the reason I wake up in the morning and the reason I continue living. You make me want to get stronger so that every time I leave, you have that reassurance that I’m coming back home.” You continued looking away from him, causing him to feel helpless since he knew once your mind was set on something, there wasn’t any changing it.
He fell in love with your stubbornness, and now that same stubbornness became his grief. He couldn’t stop the flow of tears that fell from his eyes. Gojo hated showing weakness, he hated showing that he was just a human. He was never treated as such, so why act like one?
It hurt to see him like this. You hated seeing him in pain, but you kept convincing yourself this was the right decision. “Satoru, I’m always going to love you…” You tore your hands away from him and slid your engagement ring off your finger, “so when you eventually find the perfect somebody, the person who truly completes you, just know it was all because of me. Because I had the strength to let you go. I had the strength to let you find true happiness.” The tears that had been threatening to fall finally came crashing down.
You had spent the last few weeks all by yourself, abandoned by your fiancée, so officially breaking things off should’ve been easy. But it was so difficult having to mourn the very person that stood right in front of you.
It’d be so easy running back into his arms and saying everything’s okay. That everything would be fixed and everything would go back to normal.
However, there wasn’t any trust anymore, the very foundation your relationship was built on, was broken. Staying with him would mean living under his constant supervision, since he’d fear being lied to. You’d never be able to enjoy yourself without feeling guilty. It simply wasn’t possible.
You wiped your eyes and sniffled a few times before speaking again. “It’s been 5 minutes, Gojo. You should leave.”
He was on his knees, practically begging now. “Don’t do this. Don’t call me that. Please, we can make it work again, it’ll be okay.”
“I gave you what you wanted, and now it’s time for you to go.” He very hesitantly got up and tried to at least hug you, but you backed away from him. “Funny, you still haven’t even apologized to me.”
He opened his mouth to speak, but you quickly raised your hand to stop him. “Don’t bother. Just leave.”
Gojo wiped his eyes and turned to walk out. He wanted to say something, anything, but his mouth kept failing him. He decided to say nothing, he didn’t want to make it worse. He opened the door to leave but before he could, you grabbed his shoulder
“You have my number right?” He nodded, a spark of hope lit up in his eyes. “Make sure to get rid of it.”

Liaison Part 4 Winning This Bet Will Be Easy
Part 1 can be found here. Up to chapter 32 over on AO3.
Kate could, arguably, be the person you know the best in the 141. You had her number saved in your work phone and also your personal. She took you to lunch at least once a week to confirm you weren’t having any problems. This lunch felt a bit special since you had been at your job for six months.
Kate seemed to treat these meals like an informal progress report. She also checked that Ghost wasn’t giving you any more problems. Seems word got around to all the teams that you and he did not get along. Any week you saw him you reported what offense he handed out like a challenge coin and how you responded. The week you told her about the hair pulling she shot beer through her nose.
Coughing, Kate grabbed a napkin. She pressed it against her beer-leaking nose.
“You said what to him?”
“I told him that hair pulling is kinky and asked him if he would follow up on his offer.” Shoving a bite of pasta in your mouth you watch Kate clean up the mess on her face.
“God I wish I could have seen that. Ghost isn’t always a right bastard but when he is it’s hard for anyone beyond Soap to take him to task. Why do you two hate each other so much?”
“I can’t say why on his end but I don’t respond well to demands. First thing he asked of me, ‘scuse me, demanded of me happened on a bad day was to confirm a contract and I could not respond in any way that wouldn’t cause problems. Seems no one else stands up to him so I have become his favorite wall to ram his head into.”
“You’ve been here six months now, how do you feel like you’re fitting in?”
“I’m not.”
Kate paused, looking you over. “Tell me more about that.”
“There isn’t much to say, I am chained to the computer and the phone. I took over this portion of the job from you, you know how much work this is.”
“And I will never be able to thank you enough for that, believe me,” Kate reaches across the table to squeeze your hand once before sitting back up.
“I think the only person I could say I have had a non-work related conversation with is Roach.”
“Roach? Really?”
Kate’s confusion is understandable. Roach is voluntarily mute. You tend to forget he is in the room when you yell at your computer until he sends you a cheeky message about keeping it down over there. It never comes across as high-handed or rude. The man has quick fingers and a quicker wit. The odd back and forth of talking to him and his responses rolling in over chat doesn’t bother you. It’s no different than a voice note in a text conversation.
“Some of the guys are in town tonight and we are hitting the local pub, why don’t you come and get to know them better?” Kate’s offer sounds genuine.
“Will you be there? I would hate for you to miss another epic loss for Ghost,” you tip your beer toward her, brow raised.
The laughter bubbles out of her, “I hadn’t planned on it but if you are going to be there I would love to watch a match up with Ghost.”
“Well, I will meet you in the lobby tonight for drinks. Hopefully, the sparks that fly will show how well Ghost and I don’t get along.”
❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈❈
No one questioned you or Kate when you appeared in the lobby, standing close to her side. Nearly twenty people filled the small space, some of whom you had no name for. You were positive you had a file on them just no idea which name belonged to which face. When the men moved forward through the door you followed, chatting with Kate the whole time.
The group ended up at a pub no less than a five-minute walk from the building. A cozy space with dark wood paneling and an air that the pub had been around exactly as it was long before the Romans came to conquer.
You end up sitting straight across from Ghost because of course, you do. At the table with you are Ghost, Kate, Price, Soap, and a yet unnamed man with a sad smile. Someone with a name tag appeared at the table once everyone had sat. Price passed over his card to cover the costs of the dinner for the few tables they took up. The woman took everyone’s order with an efficiency that spoke of experience.
The fries, chips, you ordered arrive hot at the table with the drinks. Listening as everyone else talks gives you a better sense of who they are. The man you had no name for goes by Reb, his file noted he was a sniper. He tells good stories, and everyone laughs at the experience he shares of trying to outrun a bull when he accidentally set up a nest on the wrong side of a hill.
Everyone notes when someone enters the bar, quick glances and assessments without breaking the conversation. Even you notice when a gorgeous redhead steps into the room. She settles at the bar. Large, loose curls drift down her back and her freckled face is clear from where you sit.
Over the next hour, you watch three different members of the 141 from different tables try and talk to her. Each gets shut down hard within thirty seconds. After the third man slinks back to his table Soap comments.
“Poor bastards, I doubt anyone could take her home tonight.”
“I could,” you pop another fry into your mouth.
You pause chewing when the table goes silent.
“What? She hasn’t given any of the men an iota of attention. Look at how she’s dressed, her outfit screams lesbian.”
All eyes focus on the woman at the bar. She doesn’t turn but shifts on her stool.
“Prove it then.” The challenge comes from Ghost.
“Wanna bet on it Gengar?”
Kate’s eyes go wide and connect with Price’s who smirks at the whole interaction.
“Oh, Jesus save us,” Soap takes a large swallow of his drink.
“£1,000,” Ghost snarls.
“Done, winning this bet will be easy.” Pulling a stack of sticky notes and a pen from your backpack you write down your Venmo.
Peeling off the top layer you slap the paper on the center of the table.
“I’ll give you ten minutes to get the money together after I leave with her. Kate, thanks for the invite. I’ll see you in the morning.” Sending nods around the table, you give Ghost a wink instead.
A fourth man is leaving, tail between his legs, when you slide onto the stool next to the beauty.
“Hi, I know you probably came here to just have a drink alone but could I interest you in helping me win a bet?”
She sends you a heavy side eye as she sips at her drink.
“What kind of bet?”
Leaning heavily onto the bar you point toward Ghost.
“You see that scary motherfucker over there?” She turns, eyes him, and turns back to you. You continue, “See I don’t get along with him. Quite frankly I think he is a bastard and would love to win £1,000 off him. The task that will win me that money is getting you to leave with me.”
A surprised little laugh drifts to you.
“That is quite a tall order.”
“I agree, and the least I could do is tell you what is going on and ask for a bit of help.” Sticking your hand out for a shake you give a name, “You can call me L.”
“L,” she looks you up and down, more interested, “You can call me Clare.”
“Hi Clare, wanna help me win a bet? I would love to take you to dinner for your trouble.”
Her tongue plays with the edge of her canine as she thinks.
“Why not, where would you take me?” She turns from the bar to face you fully.
The scraping of chair legs against the wooden floor tells you someone is unhappy to be losing. An angry murmur follows and you trust that Price or Soap will handle Ghost.
“I’m new in the area, I would take you wherever you wanted. You know the max budget for the date,” you flirt with her.
Her hand moves to rest on your arm as she leans closer.
“And if I did,” she pauses, “want to go home with you?”
“Well I’ve never had a chance to bed a beautiful and savvy woman like yourself but I’m a quick study,” you lean forward, tipping your head to the side ever so slightly.
Clare takes the invitation and initiates a small kiss. You match her effort, pulling away with a smile.
“Let’s get out of here Clare, I owe you dinner,” you breathe the words against her lips.
She lips from her stool, dropping a small purse on a long chain over one shoulder. You signal for the bartender.
“Can you put her drink on Price’s tab? He will approve it. If not I will pay you for it the next time I come by.”
The woman nods, “I’ll hold you to it.”
“I would hope so.”
Clare heads toward the front door, and you follow behind. Before you leave the building you turn and find Ghost staring at you, eyes hard.
Lifting all your fingers you mouth ‘ten minutes’ at him before you follow your date for the night into the dark.
Your phone dings before you can hail a cab.

At the end of the day, your dislikes are not my problem. If you don’t like Charlastor, okay, but why are you SO pressed when others do?
“You’re taking away their sexuality!” Charlie is bi and it was not confirmed that Alastor is aro. He is asexual, but that does not mean he can’t be in a relationship? **Edit: Alastor is aro, but my point still stands lmao.**
“You’re taking away representation!” First of all, I can’t take anything away if it’s fanon. FANON. Charlie is canonically with a woman, and good for her, but I have FANON choices I can do without your permission? I can’t change canon. At the end of the day, it’s not my show lmao.
“Charlastor is dead! Take that! We won!” Want a cookie? Charlastor was never going to be canon to begin with, so what did you win? It’s also very much alive. I’ve seen people joining to spite ship because you sound so stupid. If Viv did this on purpose (rumors, but I’m not 100% sure of its credibility), then she doesn’t care about you either. She isn’t going to thank some user for bashing the ship. And I’ll lay my head down peacefully even with you screaming about how much you hate it because no one cares.
“Charlie is with Vaggie!” Again, good for her. I do not have to ship canon just because it is. Ship and let ship? It’s not THAT serious. If you’re making this your whole personality then you don’t like chaggie because it’s representation, you like it to bash Charlastor and shit on the people who like it.
“Alastor thinks of Charlie as a daughter. It’s incest!” Y’all are stupid. They aren’t related. 😂😂 and don’t take him seriously. As soon as he noticed it bothered Lucifer that he was close to Charlie, his entire portion of the song was to piss him off. Now replace dad with mentor and that’s something I can see. Charlie looks up to him, but I do not believe for a second she sees him as a father figure. Mentor, yes. Dad, no. She has one, she doesn’t need Alastor to fill that role.
Honestly, it’s JUST a ship of two characters. We are not harming you with it. Block the tags and cater to YOUR experience on the web. We’re going to do our own thing regardless if you like it or not.
“You’ll have to try harder than that, old pal!” Words I’m going to live by.
