Hot take: the reason Glinda is so absolutely crushed in Act 2 when Fiyero leaves is less because she’s in love with him and more because it’s an entirely too familiar reminder of Elphaba leaving her (and Glinda not being brave enough to follow).

Glinda in “Thank Goodness” is Fiyero in “Dancing Through Life”— someone who’s consciously choosing the smooth, privileged, faux-ignorant path because it’s much less risky than actually acknowledging you care. Fiyero tries to play the part with Glinda a little while longer, but he can’t keep it up.

Because he doesn’t want it—he can’t want it—anymore. ;)

When Fiyero leaves with Elphaba, it’s a reminder of what Glinda couldn’t do. What she still can’t do. It’s got to feel like the moment in the attic all over again.

i really do think the desire to paint ten as unambiguously The Worst™️ when it comes to his relationship with martha is out of this desire to uncomplicate their relationship. to decouple them as friends and people who profoundly impacted each other’s lives. it’s just an easier narrative to swallow: that ten was Awful to her and then martha kicked him to the curb when she realized she was too good for him. easier, maybe, then dealing with the troubles of unrequited affection don’t have to be anyone’s fault, or that ten shut martha out in a lot of ways but let her in in others that he wouldn’t let any other companion near, or that they were still friends, they still wanted to see each other and be around each other, even though it was messy and sometimes hurt. you know?

If this election goes badly, I will never forgive people who put their personal morals over the good of America. The system is flawed and we should criticize Kamala Harris, but we also need to prevent as much harm as we can. Jokes aside, I really do like what they did with Agatha and Rio all the way through. They really are antagonists; Rio’s trying to do her job, fulfill the function of nature’s balance, and Agatha’s whole deal is to outrun her like the wind. Immortality, power, a refusal to play by the rules is Agatha’s MO, and here comes Death, falling in love with her.

Death, whom Agatha assists time and time again by killing everyone she comes into contact with—and who blames her still, for taking her child, even though Rio fully broke her own rules by giving him a number of years in the first place—and who still believes she’s better than dying, despite it all. And of course, in a way, she is! Death is in love with her! She’s in love with Death! That in itself is balance, and it throws the whole system desperately out of wack at the same time, because how do you love Death and still prioritize immortality so much that you’d give anything, sacrifice anyone, to keep running? For centuries! They’ve been doing this dance for centuries! This is the one person Agatha can’t con, can’t steal from, and still! Of course! Of course she still manages to pull a fast one, because Death has fallen in love with the ultimate con woman. Because they are, in a way, equal and opposite, balanced and forever unstable. Because Death cannot stop for love, not even for you, Agatha Harkness. Death cannot stop for love, but she can maybe run a little slower. And, when she catches you, she can perhaps turn her head from the life she’s made bloom out of your bones…and let you slip free one last time.

i seriously need more narumi and mina moments because just imagine the relief mina felt when narumi joined, similar age to her and was also considered a prodigy in the force.

to have someone to share the burden of the defence force’s future with must’ve felt so freeing. because before he joined it was just her, age 18, being told that she was going to change kaiju extermination with her exceptional synergy with firearms. and she was so, so scared.

narumi doesn’t have the kind of skills or talent for long range combat like she does, but he’s also a top candidate (despite his behavioural issues- which aren’t much of a hinderance anyway) and mina doesn’t have to carry the burden of the future alone anymore

(although she’d never admit, given she probably views narumi as someone completely shocking i just think it’s so funny how she stood there like O_O when she first saw him)

like i LOVE seeing the contrast. mina who was sent onto the battlefield for the first time and was deathly afraid vs narumi who was sent out and immediately took action because that’s how he always lived (fighting)

and now they’re the top two strongest captains in the force and they will be the ones to lead the new generation..

this has stayed in my brain for like 2 weeks: au where obi-wan gets fed up with the city council because he keeps writing them asking them to fill this pothole on his street that he hates driving around and they keep not doing it so he decides to run for city council himself on the sole platform of if he’s elected he’s going to fucking fix that fucking pothole.

and he wins because he is very charming and not a lot of people vote anyway, and he fills in his pothole and then next election cycle, he’s planning to let someone else win so he doesn’t have to be on the city council anymore because he actually hates local politics.

only there’s this asshole in university who decides to run obi-wan’s re-election campaign because he’s trying to sleep with a political science TA and he thinks she’ll be impressed if he shows an interest in local politics by doing some grassroots voting door to door work for his community service credits…..and he chooses obi-wan to support at random and very nonconsensually

so anakin skywalker becomes the bane of obi-wan kenobi’s existence. obi-wan kenobi becomes the focus of anakin’s.

(obi-wan also becomes an elected official again, mostly because of the bored housewives vote.)
