“And who is this? I don’t think audiences have had the pleasure of meeting you yet.” The man in the red mask asked, looking at the woman behind Gambit. She looked up, startled at the sudden attention being brought to her.
“Um, hi.” She offered her name, but was still confused as to what was going on with these new people.
“Wait, wait, wait. You’re ‘The Druid’ aren’t you,” Deadpool gasped, “sparkle hands.”
“Sure, I guess if that’s how you want to know me. Haven’t heard anyone call me that in years.” She turned back to her bandages that she was wrapping back up. There were footsteps coming closer to her, but someone stopped them.
“Until I know whatcha gonna be doin’, ya ain’t gettin’ no closer.” Gambit snaps, charging a card near the red masked man.
“Oh, I’m not going to do anything to her. I’m a fan really. From one person with a regenerative healing factor to another, I applaud you, my dear.” Wade clapped his hands together and bowed dramatically. She giggled and set down the bandages, before walking over to Gambit.
“We’re alright, hun. He’s just being friendly.” With a hand on his chest, the man turned and caught her eyes. Letting the energy fizzle out and back into his body, Gambit wrapped an arm around her waist to tug her close.
Later that evening, as they prepared to go to bed in preparation of the big battle the next day, she was checking and double checking her stash. Different salves, elixirs, and dressings were being packed away in her satchel to take with her. As she was placing the last bottles and jars in, hands creeped across her waist and pulled her back into a firm chest.
“Neva’ gonna get tired of seein’ you work like dis, chere. Amazes me each and every time.” Remy drawled, pressing kisses to her neck while she leaned back.
“All to make you guys better, hun.” She replied, loving the feeling of his affections.
“Listen, when we in da lair tomorrow,” he began, “you gonna stay back righ’? Stay in da car?”
“Of course, I am. You know I can’t fight.” Her snort made the man smile as he pressed a kiss to her head.
“Good. Don’t want you gettin’ mixed up in all dat.”
Her hands came in front of them, and both of their attentions were on it. In a matter of a few seconds, a magnolia blossom was blooming from her palm. Taking it from one hand to the next, she passed it back to her lover. He held it to his nose, and breathed in deeply. The sweetest scent flooded his senses. Gambit tucked the flower into the top of his chest plate, right near his heart.
“Everything is gonna be alright, Remy. We’ll be fine.”
Those seem like famous last words now.
She was staying in the background. Behind the car because she was just not going to stay in an on fire car for anything. So far, no one had noticed her and that was just how she liked it. Keeping an eye on her boyfriend and friends, the chaos around them almost made her lose the line of sight.
An explosion next to her gained her attention, and made her squeak in surprise. Thankfully, she was still virtually hidden from the rest of the fighting going on. Locking eyes on Gambit’s coat once more, she was shocked to see someone sneaking up on his. Of course, all the fighting and shouting made the odds more optimal, but it was still an incredible task to do that to him. When he did not seem to be turning and looking at the attacker behind him anytime soon, she knew she had to do something. Looking around her, she tried to find something that would draw both Gambit’s attention to the attacker, and the attacker’s attention away from Gambit.
So she threw a shoe. Some random shoe that had gotten blown off of someone was what she picked up to throw. And somehow, it worked.
“Uh oh. We done messed up now.” She muttered, seeing the new set of eyes on hers. Taking off, she began weaving through the structure. But that man was close behind.
Gambit only noticed when he heard the sound of footsteps running behind him. A card blew up the spot that those feet had stood in the second prior. Taking a look around, he noticed that there was someone now chasing his girl all through the maze of bars that was Cassandra’s lair. Remy took off after the person, while trying to look ahead to see where she was going. Somehow, he remained just out of range for his cards to reach.
Ducking into a corner, she breathed heavily as she tried to catch her breath. A stitch was deep in her side, and her claves were beginning to cramp, but she couldn’t not stop now. Her life, Remy’s life, depended on it. All the noise around them meant that she would not be able to focus on the bad guy’s movements even if she wanted to. Poking her head out of her hole, she breathed a sigh of relief as she did not see him immediately. But that changed when, from the other end of the apparent hallway, he dropped down. She was trapped.
There was nothing that she could use as a weapon nearby, and her powers were defensive; not offensive. Breathing hard, she tried to steel herself against the awful smile that the man was now sporting. A cool metal bar was digging into her back. Her heart was speeding up. If she fell from this height, she would survive, but her bag would not and that was a greater travesty in her opinion. However, she did not have these thoughts long as a flash of magenta flew in front of her and sparked in front of the man.
“Ain’t ya momma eva’ teach ya how t’ treat a lady?” Remy was here. He shot a wink over his shoulder to her, before going after the man. His bo staff was out and charged, but for some reason it did not seem to be slowing this man down. Finally, he got close enough to stick a card to him, that promptly exploded. But as he walked away, this man just got back up and began to heal again.
Gambit groaned, and struck three cards to the ground, before running and grabbing his girlfriend from the railing. As they fell, an aftershock of the explosion knocked them in the air. He tucked her head into his chest, and cushioned their way down. Landing on the hard ground, both of them groaned as pain shot through their bodies.
“You good, chere?” Remy asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. He was inspecting her face as his hands ran over the rest of her body.
“Yeah. You?” She replied, doing the exact same thing to him.
“Don’ worry about ol’ Gambit now. Gambit’s fine. I want you to go dat little hole in the side over der and stay der till I come get you.” The man pressed a kiss to her head, a brief one to her lips before rolling them over so he was on top. Slipping a card out from his pocket, he flicked it towards someone coming near, before getting up and joining the fray once more.
Once she had caught her breath, she did exactly what Remy had instructed of her. The little cave that she had found herself in allowed her to keep an eye on everybody, but stayed out of the fighting. She knew where her strengths lie, and she was definitely going to be most useful after the fight. As she watched, her mind kept forming different recipes and mixtures that she could use to help.
The fighting slowed until there was just a few people left. As the group finished them off, she stepped out briefly to watch their two friends jump into the glowing circle and away from the Void. As they disappeared, she ran over to her boyfriend and their friends. He welcomed her with open arms, and breathed a sigh of relief as they stood there.
Taking an assessment on her friends, she immediately set to work dressing some of the injuries that they had but could not heal properly. She felt Remy pat her shoulder lovingly as she was wrapping a spot on Elektra’s back. Turning to him, he just drew her in closer before allowing her to tend to wounds he may have gotten. This was a well oiled machine that had been established over the years.
As they piled into the Honda Odyssey after, their journey home was quiet. They did not know if they were going to be able to go home, or if they were stuck there forever. But one thing was for certain; that shoe was going to live in her head for a while.

‘First’ Sights Part 1
~Based on season 2 episode 11 Eobard meets the reader for the first time. This is loosely based and does have quite a twist on things.~
Eobard x Reader
Warnings- Mentions of mourning lost love, mentions of betrayal, Reader doesn’t really like Barry, mentions of the reader wanting to die
Part 2 Coming tomorrow!
Sometimes it felt like she couldn’t breathe. Other times it felt like there was too much to feel, to feel at all.
After losing her husband because of his own betrayal, to watching him get wiped from existence itself, to Barry Allen's insults and berating, to a new Harrison Wells, and back to the prior issues.
She hated. It’s all she could feel anymore. After all, why keep feeling when you could just stop. If only she could stop the hate.
She hated Eobard Thawne. She hated that he was gone.
She hated Barry Allen. She hated the Flash.
She hated Team Flash. She hated Harrison Wells #2.
She hated living. She hated herself. She hated life.
Despite this, she kept fighting. She kept pushing. She stayed with the team and helped in every way she could.
She helped Barry learn to walk again.
She helped Cisco develop new technology.
She helped Harry get his daughter back.
She helped save life after life, still she felt nothing but hate. Every time someone got hurt or cried in her arms, she’d do anything to help; she’d pretend to feel whatever they needed because if she continued like normal maybe, just maybe, she’d be “normal” again.
She played the game well. She played it well enough that none of them noticed the frigid look in her eyes. Ever since him her heart was vacant. She felt hollow and if anyone were to notice the way she was when there were no eyes on her they’d know what she was.
Everyday she grew harder. More and more roughness around her edges. She was a shard of glass. She wondered what would shatter what was left of her broken soul.
That’s what she was wondering when she got the call.
~
I watched it ring. I always do. I don’t really care who’s in trouble this time, it’s just another thing to do. Another thing to distract me till something else comes to do the same.
It’s a tiring cycle. There was always a way to end this cycle, but I’m too stubborn to give life that kind of satisfaction.
Answering the call, I put it on speaker.
“What is it this time Cisco?”
I hear him sigh shakily, “Um we need you to get here, like now. I don’t have time to explain it, just get here please.”
Before I even answer he’s hung up the phone. I wonder what’s so important he had to call me. They never really do that.
I get in my car and make it to the Lab in 20 minutes. When I walk in I’m met with immediate chaos.
“Where have you been?” Harrison asks, “ Do you have any idea what’s going on?”
I kept walking in as we spoke. “No not really... Cisco called ‘n said I needed to get here then hung up.”
He paused. Stopping me he held me in that spot.
“It’s Thawne, he’s not the same one you remember but one from before he ever came back here.” A beat, “He got pulled in through one of the portals.”
I could feel his eyes ripping through my own. I could feel his hands gently laying on my wrists. I could feel my hands shake in the grip.
My dead husband’s not so dead. I didn’t know what feelings were creeping up on me, but I pushed them down.
I tear my hands away from him with a deep breath. “Why should I care? Hm? You pull me in here just to tell me this-”
Before I can finish he cuts me off. “We called you here because we need you to convince him to help us send him back.”
“That’s stupid,” I say tiredly. “He doesn’t know me. You’ll have a better chance with the Flash asking him.”
“We’re still trying to convince Allen he needs to send Thawne back. And as much as I’m sure it bothers you, he spent years with you enough that he married you.”
“Enough that he lied and faked being someone else? Enough that he threatened to kill me?”
“Honestly, do you think he would have. I can’t imagine spending all that time with someone, being so intimate and not feeling anything.” Harrison says, searching my eyes.
“That’s cause you’re not a sociopath Harrison… Eobard is.” I whisper.
After so much time having all this emotion to hit me so suddenly was making my normal roughness waver. I could see Harrison struggle; he’s never seen me show much emotion, yet here I am slipping up in front of him.
I sigh as he remains silent. “There’s no winning in this… Let’s just get it done with.”
Pursing his lips he nods and walks off.
After a few minutes I get my stuff put up and we head down to the pipeline.
“Why are we keeping him down here? I get doing it before because he didn’t have all his speed back then, but this time… Why doesn’t he just phase through the glass like Barry had Oliver do that one time?” I say skeptically.
Harrison seems to debate what I say for a moment. “I don’t know.”
Not the answer I was expecting from him but I’m not going to argue. I really don’t care all that much. I told Eobard the day he left I never wanted to see him again. I remember he screamed at me; it was a maudlin plea. Point being, if he escapes then I won’t have to see him. He’ll never even know I was here.
Luck never really was on my side however. Walking into the pipeline the first thing my eyes catch is that yellow suit. I assume the only reason he’s standing so purposefully right now is because he heard Harrison and I make our descent to him.
I wanted to look anywhere else but those blue eyes held something far deeper than I had anticipated. He looked like he wanted to eat me whole. He also, however, looked relieved like a man who was finally able to breathe again.
In my attempt to gain some control over the situation I had decided to bring my tablet. After every big bad we catch I do a psychological evaluation to see where they should get placed. That’s why here and now I decided I would play the same role I always had, even if I'm trying to get different results.
He said nothing as Harrison and I stepped closer to the glass cell. After checking the cell's status I nodded for Harrison to leave the room.
I finally spoke. “My name is Y/n. I’m here to do a standard psychological evaluation, the more you comply the quicker I can leave you alone. Please don’t lie,” I say looking into his eyes, “I can tell when you are. If everything is clear we can begin.”
Eobard looked shocked, his blonde eyebrows raising slightly with a hint of a smile.
“Given you’ve said nothing I’m assuming we can begin.” I blink blankly at him. “What’s your full legal name?”
I look up at him. “You already know it, and if you don’t then why would I tell you?” He replies smoothly.
Sighing I roll my eyes. “This isn’t for me, it's to make sure you know it.”
“Please, this idiotic. I expected more from you.” He complains.
Anger fills me as my thin patience unravels. “If you want to get home Eobard I insist you comply. Alright?” I ask sharply.
“Who said I wanted to go back just yet.” Eobard says inquisitively.
“Why wouldn’t you want to go back, you spent quite a bit of time trying to before, now you don't?” I ask back.
He leans on the wall of his cell, settling his arms into place in front of his chest.
“There’s something I need to collect before I can go back. I get it, I leave. Simple as that.”
“What is it that you want from this time period, Thawne?” I question sighing.
“As much as I’d love to tell you, it’s much too soon for that little one.” He smiles, almost, warmly.
The pet-name made me stiff. I remember when he called me that, he only did after we got married, only did it in private. He always said it’s the first pet-name he ever thought of for me, It made me feel sick.
“First, don't call me that.” As hard as I tried my voice still wavered as I spoke. “Second, you aren't getting anything you want while in that cell, so if you really want whatever it is you’re gonna have to go home without it.” I spoke frigidly.
“This little cell isn’t going to stop me, pet, and you know that.” He moves off the wall, smiling.
“Listen, I don’t really care what you want… I just want you to go away.” I look down. “Clearly you’re coherent enough and aware of your surroundings and actions. That's all I needed to chart, so I’ll go ahead and leave you alone.” I say smiling bitterly.
Before he could say more I turned to walk out. I could hear him call for me to come back, could hear him scream my name, but I couldn’t turn around. The tears burned my eyes. I haven’t cried since the night I had officially lost him. I haven’t cried, but here I was running down the halls trying not to completely shatter on the ground.
I made my way up to the roof when I finally took a breath. Shaking I sent a text to Harrison simply stating, ‘he wont leave till he gets something he wont tell me what it is,’ hitting send I decide to send one more message, ‘be careful.’

Euro New Zealand Dollar & The Bearish Flag: A Trader's Secret Weapon The Bearish Flag: What Happens When Bulls Tire Out? Let's dive into the world of the Euro and New Zealand Dollar pair (EUR/NZD), a pair with more twists and turns than a soap opera plot—but this time we're not just talking about market chaos. We're talking about the often misunderstood bearish flag, and how this sneaky formation can be your secret weapon when trading. Picture this: you're the only one at a sale, seeing deals while everyone else is distracted. Well, that’s the beauty of identifying a bearish flag—while most traders are fumbling around, you're lining up your profit shots. Spotting the Bearish Flag in Action (And Why It's Like a Sneaky Plot Twist) The bearish flag is like when the villain appears to have given up in your favorite show. The price action in EUR/NZD takes a nosedive, catches a bit of a break, and starts trending upwards—almost too good to be true, right? But deep down, experienced traders know it’s just a fleeting break before another fall. The market is just catching its breath. The flagpole is that sharp fall, and the flag is the bit where the market’s trying to convince everyone that "everything is fine, really." The key here? Don’t get fooled by this false optimism. The EUR/NZD bearish flag isn’t the market suddenly waking up and deciding to moon—instead, it’s more like trying to give a false sense of security. Knowing when it’s going to unravel is where the real opportunity lies. Setting the Scene: How a Bearish Flag Forms To paint the scene, a bearish flag forms when there’s been a significant drop (the flagpole), followed by a small, slight rally or sideways consolidation (the flag). The flag’s upward movement is just the market catching its breath before it decides, "You know what, gravity is still a thing," and continues its journey downward. Think of this as watching a slow-motion train wreck—you know what's coming, but there's still that little false hope before the inevitable crash. When trading EUR/NZD, recognizing this flag means you’re seeing past that false hope, ready to cash in on the real moves that others tend to miss. The Hidden Gem: Trading Tips and Setup Secrets for the EUR/NZD Bearish Flag Here’s where the magic happens, and where I spill some secrets you won’t find in your regular “Forex 101” guides. - Entry Point: Wait for that flag to start fluttering. The typical consolidation or slight upward rally is your confirmation. Enter your short position after a breakout below the lower boundary of the flag—like a hero entering a scene when all seems hopeless (and then swooping in for a profit win). - Targets and Take Profit: A good target is often equivalent to the size of the flagpole. Use your measuring stick to see how big that initial decline was, then project that distance from the breakout point. It’s like baking—measure twice, eat the profits once. - Stop Loss: A great stop loss is like an insurance policy—just above the top of the flag. This ensures if the market tries to trick you (and EUR/NZD does like a good fakeout sometimes), you won’t be left feeling like you’re wearing those infamous “sale shoes” you swore would fit. Why Most Traders Miss This (And How You Can Outsmart Them) Here’s the kicker—many traders get faked out because they think that slight upward consolidation in the EUR/NZD price action means we’re headed back up for good. It’s an old trick the market loves to play, and it's the reason why most traders end up buying at the wrong time, like paying full price on something that will go on sale tomorrow. You, however, will know that a bearish flag is like a price trap—a temporary retracement that’s still part of a larger downtrend. Euro vs. Kiwi: Understanding the Market Drivers You might be wondering, why the EUR/NZD specifically? It’s because the economic dynamic between the Eurozone and New Zealand often results in sharp, reactionary moves—like a telenovela where emotions drive every decision. The EUR/NZD pair has enough drama for traders, ranging from EU economic shifts (think ECB policy announcements) to New Zealand’s sensitivity to commodity prices and interest rate adjustments. Data Dive: Expert Insights and Economic Movers According to James Smith, an analyst at the Bank for International Settlements, "The New Zealand dollar is particularly vulnerable to changes in global risk sentiment, especially during volatile commodity market swings." This makes EUR/NZD prone to erratic spikes and sharp declines—a playground for those who know how to use bearish flags. In 2023, the European Central Bank’s hawkish stance caught traders off guard, and the EUR/NZD pair plummeted, forming textbook flag patterns. Recognizing the bearish setup here meant you could have caught this momentum for some hefty gains—and who doesn’t love a bit of extra cash for their “rainy day, sunny yacht” fund? A Bearish Flag Isn’t Always Bearish—Timing Is Everything The tricky part? Not every flag is as textbook as you’d like. EUR/NZD might give a clean bearish flag setup, but sometimes market sentiment or external news can alter the play—it's not about painting-by-numbers but knowing when to adapt. Always be mindful of those EUR and NZD economic announcements; they’re like adding or removing ingredients from an otherwise perfect recipe. Join our community for elite insights and daily updates—whether you're nailing a bearish flag or dodging false moves: StarseedFX Community. Why Bearish Flags Might Just Be Your New Best Friend in EUR/NZD Trading Learning to spot bearish flags isn’t just about getting a few good entries—it's about positioning yourself where others won’t dare. It’s a strategic maneuver that says, “I see past the fluff, and I’m here for the real opportunity.” Trading isn’t all glamorous victory; it’s about risk management and getting those timely, impactful moves that build up your success. Mastering the bearish flag, especially in a notoriously tricky pair like EUR/NZD, is like having a toolkit that gives you a precise advantage when everyone else is left guessing. Get the Edge Others Don’t See Bearish flags are a hidden gem of Forex trading—especially with EUR/NZD, where everyone’s too distracted by momentary swings. Next time you see that flag fluttering, think of it as a sly nod from the market—a rare opportunity to bank profits while others are caught in their emotions. Portugal
August 30-31, 2024
I was so excited for this trip, I’d been packed for over a week and was up early in the morning with anticipation! We had a fantastic summer spending more than half our time at our lake home - a wonderful place to kick back and relax. But I was ready for adventure again!
This trip has us a bit more anxious, as there is a lot of unknowns with the Camino portion of this trip. The anxiety was also fueled by probably spending too much time on the Camino Portuguese Facebook page, with discussions on what to pack, which route to take and places to stay. I know physically this walk will be no problem, but the unknown of finding accommodations and food is different than previous adventures!
We had uneventful travel, leaving Madison about 2pm with an upgrade to First Class! Jeff was recognized during the flight for reaching One Million miles with Delta, although many of those were from his Northwest Airlines days (he’s not sure that’s a great accomplishment)!
We had a quick stop in Detroit, then an overnight flight to Amsterdam (splurged for the Delta One lay down seats - wow. I had to wake JT 30 minutes before we landed). We had about 2 hours in Amsterdam, an airport we’re getting to know quite well. Found our departure gate, then backtracked to the KLM lounge for coffee and chocolate croissant, and a bathroom for refreshing and teeth brushing!
It was a 3 hour flight to Lisbon. Probably had caffeine in my coffee though because I didn’t nap much. In Lisbon, we claimed our bags - always happy to see them after a transfer at Amsterdam!! We’d checked a small suitcase with clothes and things for Lisbon, and each checked our backpack wrapped inside Osprey “Airporter” bags to protect them somewhat. At baggage claim we unwrapped our packs as they’re easier to carry as backpacks. Out of customs to the usual throng of greeters offering rides. I’d pre booked a ride to the hotel, forgoing the adventure of figuring out taxis or trains for now. That worked well, and gave us a favorable impression of Lisbon on our ride.
We checked into our hotel, Memmo Principe Real (a Marriott Bonvoy property) about 2pm. We spent some time getting settled, before succumbing to a real nap. By 5, we were in the lobby ready for the hotel sponsored walking tour.
In the lobby, we met Glen and Carol from Colorado also waiting for the tour. We traded travel stories for a bit, and by the time our guide Manuel came, he thought we were all old friends. Manuel also works as a psychologist, and was a great guide. We walked the neighborhood together, with him giving us some history and a general overview of Lisbon and its people. He described the city as “Organized chaos” and said he never gets tired of the view. He pointed out places that tourists go, and places where locals go. In general, he said people here are cynical, and go with the flow. I can’t wait to do our 5-hour tour tomorrow and try to gain a better sense of what that means!
We spent two hours with him, studying buildings, streets, restaurants and bars. We had our first Pastel de Nata, a flakey pastry shell with an egg yolk custard (eggs, crème and sugar). It was heaven on earth, perhaps even better than Pain d’Chocolate (chocolate croissant).
Afterwards, we had a drink at the hotel bar, which then turned into dinner with Glen and Carol. Nice evening, and ready for a good nights sleep!

Housing and anxiety vent INCOMING
We’re driving to MS tomorrow and I do not wanna gooooo. I haven’t seen my mom since February so I’m def due for a visit but it’s an 8-hour drive and I’ll be doing it with my awful-to-travel-with sister and I am just absolutely miserable at the prospect. I’ve decided that I’m going to drive the first stretch through Atlanta because I hate the my sis drives in Atlanta traffic, not to mention that they are a slow riser and will complain about being tired and having to drive the ENTIRE TIME. No seriously, this happens without fail if they drive the first stretch. Shut the fuck up already!
Also: I fucked up when I chose not to renew my lease because starting next month, we are getting cost of living raises and I COULD have afforded the rent hike if I’d known that was gonna happen! But I didn’t renew and they’ve found a new tenant for my spot so now I have about 55 days to find myself a new place to live. I reached out to my ideal punk communal spot months ago and they said they’d “add [me] to the list” but I haven’t heard anything since then. Otherwise the only sure thing I have housing-wise is an offer from a friend to live with her. I adore her but her life is extremely chaotic right now and it gives me major anxiety to think of how it would affect my quality of life to be near that chaos. I’m thinking of noisiness in the house, guests at random times (she’s always inviting people over randomly), her cats (she has 3 and I’m allergic), and how messy her kitchen is right now. I just. I’m so nervous.
I did this to myself for sure, but it sucks that I haven’t found anything else just yet. One rental company must have figured out I’m Black because they’ve stopped responding to my inquiries about a dreamy lil duplex in my ideal neighborhood. Everything is priced for college students and not for the working locals who keep this stupid fucking city afloat, and we’re literally getting priced out of town. It’s happening everywhere in the US but I’m honestly shocked to see it happening so much here. I honestly want to put a curse on them or something, do something to cool off all this hype around this university and make things cheaper. I don’t even believe in curses but most people do, and the psychological effect alone of knowing someone cursed them would have an impact for sure.
Yes I’m still in the homebuying program but that’s also at a standstill. They’re understaffed and not really paying attention to me right now, plus there aren’t any available homes to buy right now so I’ll have to have one built. That prospect is absolutely terrifying.

75 laps. That's all that you had to do. Drive for 75 laps. The Bahrain Grand Prix had always been one of your favourite races of the year, and you were so excited. But that excitement had soon ebbed away, after you had missed qualifying because your car wasn't ready for the quali session. The RedBull mechanics had apologised and you had brushed them off, buy you would be lying if you said you weren't angry. It hadn't helped when your teammate and boyfriend Max qualified P1, beating the Mercedes by mere tenths of a second. You had swallowed your hurt and congratulated Max, forcing yourself to feel happy for him.
All it had done was made you determined to win the race tomorrow, even if you had to fight 19 other drivers to do so. Starting P20 on the grid sucked big time, but as Martin Brundle said, "If anyone can fight back from the back of the grid to the podium places, its Y/N L/N" and you had done it before, at the German GP the previous year, fighting back from P19 to P3, winning Driver of The Day as well.
But this race was different. There was a building intensity in the air, you felt it in the air around you. You felt tense and nervous, and you were never nervous. It scared you, but you were going to be damned if you let it show on your face. In your drivers room, you paced back and forth, trying desperately to stop your hands from shaking. Was this what anxiety felt like? you wondered, shaking your head as your heart started hammering against your chest. Far to consumed in your own panicked thoughts, you didn't see your boyfriend walk up to your door, and open it to walk inside.
Max walked into your room, expecting to see you vibing to some R&B music, or something by Rihanna. But you weren't. You were pacing, your brow furrowed and he could see the irregular rise and fall of your chest. He walked up behind you silently, before wrapping his arms around your waist, like he normally did. What he wasn't expecting was your reaction. Usually, you would giggle and let your head fall onto his shoulder, and he would kiss your neck and you two would share a moment. But not this time. This time, you jumped, and nearly fell over onto your bed. "Woah schtaje ! It's just me' he said, eyes softening in concern. "I'm sorry I didn't see you and I shouldn't have jumped, I'm sorry I'm just so klutzy today and I'm also so nervous I-" your nervous rambling was cut off by a pair of warm lip pressing onto your own, as Max's hands cupped your face, instantly calming down your nerves.
You stayed like that for a moment, before pulling away softly, and letting him press his forehead down to yours, fingers gently tracing patterns on your hip. "Why are you nervous mijn geliefde ?" he asked, as he moved his lips to your neck, pressing little kisses along the sensitive skin. "I don't know" you confessed, tilting your head back to give him more access to the expanse of skin, while he stopped at a pulse point to suck at the soft skin, earning. soft moan from you. "Then stop stressing" he mumbled against your neck, word muffling against your skin. "I can't" you replied, struggling to keep the lump in your throat fro growing. "Well," Max said, biting down onto your neck and licking the spot to soothe it, 'Let me help you calm down"
--------------------------------
20 seconds to lights out.
Your heart was thumping so hard against your chest. God, were your hands always so clammy? Was the car always so stuffy ? Was the space always so confined? Was your helmet always that tight?
Your thoughts were muddled. You knew your goal. It was simple. Get to the podium. Except, right now, that goal seemed somewhat impossible. Before you knew, the first red light was flashing, and then the second, and the third and the fourth and the fifth, and then it was 'lights out and away we go!' you sped off, immediately overtaking Magnussen in the car ahead of you. Then, you overtook one of the Williams, but you could feel your breath wavering, and your heart threatening just burst out of your chest. And before you knew it, you were overtaking Giovinazzi in his Alfa Romeo, and the sight of Grosjean's Haas came into view, "And it looks like L/N has already taken over 4 places, making her P16, and we are on lap 2 of 75! It looks like we're going to see her on the podium after, all, but all we can do is wait and see- and oh! that's a terrible, terrible crash!"
It happened so fast. One moment, you were going round the outside of the Haas, and the next the back of the Haas was hitting your front, sending you crashing into one of the barriers, your car spinning a full 360 in the process. The impact as you crashed into the barriers was so intense, you felt yourself blackout for a few seconds.
"That was a horrible crash, between, the RedBull of Y/N L/N and the Haas, I believe of Romain Grosjean. This race has been red flagged and -oh no!' The cry summed it up. Your car had just burst into flames.
------------------------------------
In P1, Max was unaware of the chaos at the back, until he looked in his rear mirrors to see something enveloping into a ball of fire. "Holy shit, whose car is that?" he asked, watching as the flames grew higher. "Um.. Max, I need you to stay calm, but its Y/N" "Are you fucking serious?!" his angry voice burst through his race engineer's headphones, making him flinch. "Is she okay?! Tell me she's okay, damn it!' "Max, I need you to come into the pit lane. We have no information on her yet. Come into the pit lane"
As the 18 other cars came into the pitman, everyone knew better than to park in the way of an anxious Max Verstappen. He jumped out of the car, running to the garage upto Christian, who was watching the screen with his eyebrow furrowed. "Is she alright? Tell me she got out?! Did she get out?!" he was practically spitting the words out, and his engineer and his trainer had to physically restrain him from going to shake Christian. "She hasn't got out yet Max, but the fire Marshalls and the medical guys are there-" "What do you mean she hasn't got out? verdomme, blijf hier niet zitten! doe iets!!"
As his race engineer manoeuvred him to his chair, he yelled at whoever was around, eyes desperately searching to screen for some sign that you were still alive. Outside the RedBull garage, the other drivers were pooling around the garage for some sign that Y/N was okay. The panic had been evident in all their radios.
Charles - "Fuck, fuck, fuck, who was that? Y/N?! Tell me she's okay!"
Carlos - "Joder, ¿quién era ese?" I just saw the car go into flames, tell me they got out okay.
Lewis - oh shit, that was a big crash, fucking hell, is she okay?
Checo- oh no, that was a big one, I hope everyone is okay!
---------------------------------
Back in the car, you felt dazed. Since when was the track this hot, and since when when was your car red ? Were you driving for Ferrari ? No, you drove for RedBull, alongside Max. Your boyfriend Max. Why wasn't he here?
And why did you feel like you were sitting in a sauna? As you begain to regain your consciousness, you felt a searing pain on your hands, and finally clearing the fogginess of your mind, you became fully aware of what was happening. This was your RedBull car. But it was on fire. Almost instantly, your body went into survival mode, ripping the half burnt straps holding your body down, and forcing your limbs to stand up. Looking down you could see your racing gloves glow before they seemed to disintegrate into black dust before your eyes, the flames licking your hands. A scream started in your chest, only to be jammed in your throat, as you opened your mouth to gasp. Big mistake.
The smoke filled your mouth and lungs, and you choked, clawing at your race suit, begging some higher power to help you. Finally, using some courage and adrenaline you didn't know you had, you pulled your body up, bare hands coming in contact with searing hot metal, as your eyes filled with tears of pain. As you jumped out of the car, you became vaguely aware of 3 or 4 people signaling and screaming at you. Too exhausted to even think, you used whatever remaining adrenaline you had to stumble to the barrier and collapse into the first pair of arms.
"Can you hear me? Are you okay? Can you tell me if you're hurt?" The questions were hurled at you from all directions, but you couldn't speak. The head marshall walked up, bracing your body, and checking for injuries. In a hurried voice he asked for the stretcher, but you shook your head. The exhaustion was setting in but you knew you had to let the others know you were okay. But he insisted, and you found yourself sitting on the stretcher instead of lying down, as a medic gently removed your helmet and peeled off the remaining burnt glove, and pressed some ice gently against your burn. Mustering up your remaining strength, you turned to one of the broadcasting cameras and flashed them a tight smile and a thumbs up.
"And as you can see, she has managed to get out of the wreckage, by God's miracle. Thank God she's walked away from that, but how, I cannot comprehend! She went barelling into the barrier and burst into flames and she walked out alive! And I can hear the cheers of the RedBull team, and I think her race engineer is in tears. I can't begin to imagine how Max Verstappen must be feeling"
------------
Max Verstappen wasn't sure how he was feeling either. He had felt fear, anger, anxiety, more fear, devastation and dread in the longest 15 minutes of his life. But you were alive. And he felt like breaking down, but he had to be strong for you. He watched your tired form on the screen, feeling giddy with relief, and ignoring the others around him, he ran to the medical hospitality center. No one stopped him.
As the white building came into sight, he heaved a sigh of relief as Michael Masi appeared in front of the cameras to give the anxious fans an update. "Y/N is alright. She's currently in recovery, and I can inform you that she is okay. She has minor burns on her hands, and is exhausted, but she will be okay. 2 weeks healing time for the burns, and some proper rest should be fine for her. That's all I know, and I would ask the media, press, social media fans, and others to give her the time she needs to cope and recover. What she has been through is traumatizing and I hope you will respect her privacy at this time. Thank you"
Seeing his hesitation, the nurse turned to the driver, "It's okay. She's fine now. She's on some painkillers and I've cleaned her burns and dressed them. She will be fine, and you can hug her or whatever you want, she won't be hurt. I've kept some painkillers on the table, she should take some again in 2 hours or so" All Max could do was nod, suddenly feeling a lump grow in his throat. With a smile in your direction, the nurse walked out of the room, leaving you alone with Max.
Max turned to nod at the race director, before hurrying through the brown door that led to the medical room you were in. When he walked in, his entire body relaxed. You were alive and safe. Seeing you sitting up in bed, a bottle of water by your side as a nurse wrapped your burnt hand in a white bandage. Looking, your tired eyes met his blue ones, as a tired smile made his way to your face. "Y/N",he said breathily, "Thank God you're alive" he said, practically running over to you, but he stopped himself from hugging, unsure of if it would hurt you.
"Hey baby". All it took was two words for him to rush towards you, gently wrapping his arms around your form, burying his head in the crook of your neck, as a gasping sob left his mouth, and you could have sworn you felt your heart shatter. "I'm okay baby, I'm okay. I'm not going anywhere, and I'm okay" your mantra of "I'm okay" was soothing, as he sobbed into your shoulder. "I thought I'd lost you, you scared me to death!" "I know my love but I'm here and I'm okay" "I thought you were gone. When I saw the flames behind me I didn't even know it was you in the car. When they told me it was you I swear my fucking heart stopped, and all I could do was pray to whatever higher power exists to save you, because I'm nothing without you. If you hadn't made it, I wouldn't survive. You make me better, you help me love, and you let me heal. I love you, and I never, ever want to see you in a situation like that again"
"I love you too" you said, your eyes filling with tears as you listened to him speak. "I love you too" you repeated, gently lifting his chin so his eyes could meet yours, his tear stained cheeks and red eyes breaking your heart, as you tilted your lips to meet his. He returned the kiss with desperation, he needed even more proof that you were alive, and feeling your lips on his were a reminder that you were alive and weren't going anywhere. He kissed you with fervour, hands moving to your hair, one cupping your cheek as his thumb traced your cheekbone, your hands clutching his broad chest.
"Ouch" the soft cry made you two break apart, as you rubbed your stinging hands. "Did I hurt you?" He said, his eyes filling with worry. "No its just the burn. It'll be fine" you replied, shifting in your bed and patting the spot next to you. After a moments hesitation, he climbed in, raising the sterile white sheet and tucking the both of you in. You snuggled up to him, arms wrapping around him as you rested your head on his chest. He rested his chin on your head, one hand running through your hair, the other keeping you stable on his chest. Within seconds, you were asleep.
Looking down at your sleeping form, his eyes lingered on the white bandage covering your burn, his eyes filling again as it stood out against your skin. He hated it. It was a reminder that you had nearly died. He had nearly lost you. His train of thought was cut off by his phone ringing, his mum's caller ID flashing across the screen.
"Hi mum" "Is she okay?" His greeting was pushed aside, his mom far too concerned about Y/N. "Yes she's alright now. She's sleeping now, Yeah I'm with her now" "Y/N's mom is with me too, I'll let her know she's okay" "Thanks mum" "Don't forget to rest as well Max" his mum said, knowing full well that her son would forget about taking care of himself when it came to his love. "I will"
And he cut the line. He looked down at you one more time, pressing his lips to your forehead, and swearing to himself that he would protect you for all his life. He let his eyes close, the exhaustion finally getting to him, all his adrenaline and energy draining out his body, and finally content that you were going to be okay, he let his eyes close.
You were going to be okay.

Ah vidcon, a content creators dream, or worse nightmare, or in your opinion, wild trip that lasted three days.
~~
It was your first time seeing anyone from the Dream SMP in a while, and your were practically buzzing with excitement by the time you were getting off the plane in California.
You fiddled with your carry on as you made your way towards baggage claim, grinning upon hearing a yell of “Oh my god is that (Y/n) from the internet!?”
You turned to see Alex standing just outside the gate he’d landed at, quickly you ran to hug him, stomach filling with butterflies at his touch. “Wait it’s Alex from the internet!”
You both laughed as you pulled away, starting back to baggage claim, “Are you excited for vidcon?” He asked.
“Yeah, what I’m not excited for is having to share a house with you idiot for a weekend.”
He scoffed, “What do you mean? It’s gonna be fun!”
“Oh yeah, the entire SMP together in one house, is such a good idea. It’s gonna be chaos!”
“That’s the fun part!”
“I like to sleep at night without being interrupted by random screaming and stuff.” You argued.
“I’m sure there won’t be random screaming.”
“You seriously underestimate Tommy.” By now you had made it to baggage claim and began to look around for the right carousel.
You split up, planning on meeting back by the door to wait outside for Bad, who had arrived the day before and was picking people up, a few at a time.
After waiting at one carousel for a few minutes your suitcase came rolling out, but as you went to grab it someone else grabbed it from behind you, a familiar voice drawling, “Hey, hey.”
Grinning you turned to see Nick smiling back at you, “Hey yourself.”
He hugged you, and again your stomach filled with butterflies.
Pull away you smiled, “Come on, I think I left Alex just over there.”
Grabbing your suitcase in one hand, and his hand in the other you tugged him off toward where you’d left Alex, calling, “Alex look who I found!” as soon as he was in view.
Nick dropped your hand to grab Alex’s to pull him into a hug, and you found yourself fighting a grin at how red Alex's face turned.
“Bad texted me that he’s almost here!” You announced after checking your phone.
“Who else is he picking up?” Nick asked.
“Uhhh,” You pulled the messages back up, “Karl and Fundy, and then Wilbur is supposed to be getting another rental car and driving the rest of the Europeans when they get here, minus George cause apparently he also flew out early.”
You all headed out towards the pick up area, weaving through the crowds of people you felt Nick grab the back of your shirt, and when you looked back at him in question he muttered, “So I don’t lose you Idiot.”
All you could do was hope your face was clear of any blush as you smiled back.
You all ended up stood near the curb when a voice cut through the chatter, “Hey gu-uys!”
“Karl!” The three of you exclaimed as he ran through the crowd towards you.
Upon reaching you he some how managed to get his arms around all of you enough for a group hug, and you laughed, “Shouldn’t you be at the other gate?”
“Yeah, but I thought I saw you guys so I came over here, and I was right!”
Alex cocked an eyebrow, “What if it wasn’t us?”
“uhhh, I dunno, awkwardly ran at random people?”
You all laughed, and Nick scoffed, “You’re ridiculous.”
After a few more minutes of waiting, a car slowed near the curb, Fundy’s head practically falling from passenger window, “I’m looking for some youtubers, dumb American ones, you seen any?”
Bad smacked him, “they aren’t dumb, hey guys!”
You waved at them as the guys started loading their suitcases into the back of the car, and after Karl insisted he take yours as well, you slid into the back seat, “What’s the house situation like?”
“It looks like just about everyone will get there own room,” Bad reported, “But Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo and Purpled are sharing the room with the bunk beds, because Clay designated it as the kids room.”
You snickered as Alex climbed into the back next to you, leaving Nick and Karl to take the spots in the middle row of the van.
“And obviously cause Kristen’s coming she and Phil are sharing, and then Eret said he, Puffy, and Niki would take the room with the double beds,” Fundy offered, “Which means the rest of us should get single rooms.”
Alex elbowed you, “Told you wouldn’t get stuck with random screaming.”
“Oh there's still time for that.”
~~
After getting to the airbnb and racing Fundy for one of the bigger rooms that was left (it was decided Phil and Kristen would get the master bedroom, and Clay had already claimed the biggest guest bedroom), you dropped your suitcase in one corner and brought your toiletries bag in the shared bathroom between your and Nick’s rooms, before flopping back onto your bed.
No more than three minutes passed before Karl wandered into your room, flopping down next to you, “Ranboo and Sam are making nachos, and Dream and Nick found a foosball table in the garage, so a mini tournament is being organized if you want in.”
“Foosball?” You questioned.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be fun.”
You allowed him to tug you up, and followed him down from the left hall of bedrooms, through the living room and to the connected garage where George was yelling over everyone to try and form teams.
“Me and (Y/n) are a team!” Nick announced, grabbing your hand to pull you towards him.
“Okay, that leaves Big Q and Karl as the last team for now! When other people show up they can join.” George announced.
The rest of the day passed in a blur of foosball games, nacho’s nearly being spilled everywhere and the rest of the people arriving.
~~
The next day was the first day of vidcon, and after getting dressed in some casual clothes you grabbed your laptop and headed out to the living room, mostly empty in the quiet house, with the exception of Tubbo, who was flipping through tv channels, and Phil, who was tinkering around in the kitchen.
“So what’s your plan for the day?” Tubbo asked, finally having settled on a baking show.
“Uhh, stress about the panel until it’s time for the panel, hang out, maybe find a pizza place, you?”
“Me and Tommy are just gonna wander the convention center most of today cause I don’t have anything until the meet and greet tomorrow, then when he has to go I think me, Ranboo and Fundy might be going to mess with dream george and sapnap during the dream team panel. What’s you first panel about?”
You glanced back down at your laptop, “It’s listed as ‘small creators with a big part’”
From the kitchen you heard Phil chuckle.
“Oh cool.” Tubbo smiled, turning back to his show.
You looked back down at your laptop, reading over the possible sample questions and discussion topics, you wanted to be mentally prepared for this.
At some point, as the rest of the house began to stir Alex shuffled out from the hallway and plopped down in between you and Tubbo on the couch, throwing his legs up in your lap.
“Good morning.”
He groaned, “Why is it so early?”
“It isn’t,” you laughed, flicking at his forehead, “Your just jet lagged.”
“Is there coffee here?”
As if on cue Nick, who had come over from the kitchen, offered him a mug, “Phil made a big ass pot of it.”
“Oh thank fuck!” He took the cup greatfully.
Nick smiled, handing you the other mug before going back for his own as Karl flounced into the room and plopped down on the other couch, “Good morning!”
“Morning Karl!” You smiled.
“oooo, are we watching cake wars?” He asked excitedly.
Tubbo nodded and launched into an explanation of what had happened so far in the episode.
Eventually everyone woke up and was gathered around in the living room and kitchen, drinking coffee and tea as they planned for the day.
“Well if most of us have different things planned why don’t we just plan to meet back up here before dinner?” Niki suggested.
A half asleep Wilbur nodded, “Sounds like a good idea.”
Techno snickered at his grogginess, elbowing him lightly, “I guess the first panel really will be sleepy boys inc.”
If Wilbur had been fully awake he probably would’ve elbowed him back, but instead just muttered, “Shut up.”
“Okay! So we meet back here for six yeah?” Bad asked.
Everyone nodded, and disappeared back to their various places around the house to get ready.
Back in your room you put your laptop away and got the last of your things ready for the panel, even though it wasn’t starting for a few hours.
“(Y/n)! Your panel’s at 12 right?” Nick half yelled through the open bathroom doors.
“Yeah?”
“Okay cool, do you wanna come with me, Alex and Karl? Apparently Jimmy and all them just got in.”
“Sure.”
You had talked to the famed, ‘Mr. Beast’, a few times, and had even been in one or two of his gaming videos, so before you knew it Alex was stealing the keys to one of the rental cars and you were off.
“Yeah we just left the airbnb.” Karl, said into his phone. There was a pause before he said, “Oof, I’m glad I came out early then.” Another pause and then he laughed, “Nimrods. We can stop for food if you want?”
A few minutes later he ended the call, leaning up between the front seats, “The gang requires food, we’re taking a pit stop to taco bell.”
“Taco bell? At 9 in the morning?” Alex questioned.
“Yeah apparently the nimrods forgot to get food before they left the airport, and now their stuck in traffic. We’re gonna meet them at the hotel.”
You chuckled, “Sounds like a Jimmy move. Let me guess, they forgot because none of them slept and they took a red eye?”
“What the fuck is a red eye?”
You looked back at Nick, incredulous, “You don’t know what a red eye is? Oh my god you privileged fool!”
Alex snorted, “It’s a really early flight Nick. Like, a you get to the airport for 11pm, and end up eating breakfast when you get to the other airport, flight.”
“Or, a get to the airport for anytime between 11pm and 4am and regret your life choices while waiting for your plane.” You offered.
“In other words, hell.” Alex finished, pulling into a drive thru.
“Yikes, why would anyone do that?” Nick asked.
“It’s cheap.” Karl said.
“Planes are less crowded, so are the airports.” Alex added.
You smiled, “I do it for the feeling of a lineal space. There's no vibes like airports from 11pm to 4am.”
They all laughed, and Karl quickly unrolled his window to order an ungodly amount of food.
~~
Unsurprisingly, after that the day passed in a blur, the panel going pretty well, and then the impromptu meet and greet outside the meeting hall, trying to make it through the convention center with Clay and Nick without being mobbed, and then suddenly everyone was back at the airbnb getting ready for dinner.
“(y/n) you bitch why are you taking so long in there!” Tommy yelled through the bathroom door.
“I’m trying to fix my hair from when you threw water at me prick! There's five other bathrooms in this house go find another one!” You yelled back.
Distantly you could hear Bad yell, “Language!”
“Everyone is in the other bathrooms!”
Giving up on your hair you set the brush back down and recapped the container of paste, turning and opening the door to your room, “Alright, fine.”
“That wasn’t that hard was it?” Tommy asked, moving past you into the bathroom.
“Don’t touch my stuff.” You instructed, striding out of the room and down the hall.
Out in the living room Eret was humming as they cleaned up the last of the later Tommy had gotten everywhere as the rest of the group started to assemble.
Once everyone was finally ready, and the final arguments of who would take which car, you were shoved into the back of one of the vans with Karl and Alex, making all of the anxiety that had dissipated after the panel came flooding back, especially when Nick, who was sitting on the bench seat in front of you, turned to join the conversation.
The night was spent trying to keep blush off your face whenever Karl’s knuckles brushed yours, when Nick’s arm found it’s way around the back of your chair, or when your and Alex’s knees bumped.
‘God’, you had thought, ‘this is like some romcom shit.’
After Tommy’s fail attempt to steal a set of car keys and try and drive home -Phil smacked him upside the head, Niki snatched the keys from his hand, Kristen started to lecture him, all while the rest of you laughed your asses off- The bill was paid, and everyone piled back up into the cars, already starting to plan a movie night.
Upon getting back to the airbnb, you headed back to your room to change back into the hoodie and comfortable pants you had been wearing earlier, heading back into the living room in time to steal Punz’s seat on the couch with Nick and Karl.
When Alex squeezed into the spot between you and Nick, you could’ve sworn you saw Techno smirking and Puffy waggling her eyebrows toward you, how they found out about your stupid group crush you had no clue, but then Clay and Skeppy started to argue over what movie to put on.
Tubbo ended up taking the remote from Clay, and from where he was sitting In front of one of the couches, tossed it over to Phil on the other side of the room, who said, “We’ll do a vote then!”
A movie was selected democratically, some cheesy action movie began to play, and at some point you half turned, propping your legs up across the boys laps as Alex maintained a running commentary on the movie, just loud enough for you and Nick to hear, and Karl absently traced small shapes into your ankles.
~~
The second day of vidcon was the most hectic, with you, Nick and Alex were going to watch the Mr. Beast panel Karl got to be a part of, plus both the dream smp panel and the meet and greet later in the day.
You had woken up to Karl and Alex jumping on top of you, “Wake up! You’re gonna be late!”
You groaned, struggling to shove them off, “What time is it?”
“8:27.” Alex said, sliding off your bed.
“Fuck,” You muttered, “Get off me, what the hell happened to my alarm?”
“You left your phone in the other room, when it went off it woke us up.” Karl explained.
“He means it woke him up and he felt the need to wake me up,” Alex complained as you sat up now free of the people laying on you, “Why the hell is your alarm set so early?”
“It’s not early, I just wanted to be able to get ready without being in anyone’s way.”
Karl nodded, “Makes sense.”
“C’mon, let’s give them time to get ready.” Alex grabbed Karl’s arm, half dragging him out of the room.
You quickly got ready, pulling on a nicer button down, plus a jacket that was one of the first from your new merch line.
You finished your hair, plugged in your phone and headed out to the kitchen where Fundy seemed to be attempting to make pancakes, dragging Karl into the process as well.
You sat down next to Alex and Ranboo, “How long do you think until they burn the house down?”
“I am not going to burn the house!” Fundy exclaimed.
You reached over and turned down the heat on the griddle, “Well you were gonna burn something.”
Ranboo snickered, “They aren’t wrong.”
“Shut up Ranboob!” Fundy retorted.
They continued to bicker as Tubbo emerged from up stairs, shoving Fundy out of the way to take over the griddle. “You’re all ridiculous.” He muttered.
“Yeah no shit.” You sighed.
“Language!” Bad yelled from the dining room.
“French!” Eret called back as she entered the kitchen, “Morning guys!”
“Morning!” Tuboo chirped, starting to flip some of the pancakes.
“It’s panel day!” Tommy yelled, charging down the stairs, “Those best be chocolate chip Tubbo!”
Karl held up the bag of chocolate chips he been scattering into some of the pancakes, and Tommy grinned, “Karl my man!”
~~
Once breakfast was eaten and the dishes cleared everyone loaded back up into the cars to head to the convention center, everyone splitting up again, planning to meet back in the right area in time for the full panel.
Karl headed off to meat with Jimmy and the guys as You Alex and Nick took spots in the audience.
Once they took to the stage Nick leaned over and elbowed Alex, “Bet you 10 bucks when they open for questions you don’t go up just to flirt with Karl.”
Alex glared at him, “10 bucks isn’t worth it.”
You held back a laugh, “I’d throw in another 20.”
Alex considered this with a sigh, “Deal, but only if we get milkshakes later.”
You and Nick agreed, and soon enough when they opened up for audience questions Alex started to stand up, but immediately sat back down blushing slightly, “No.”
“Damn.” Nick sighed. “We’re still getting milkshakes.”
Once the Mr. Beast panel had ended you all went to meet up with Karl and head off to the dream smp panel.
2 o'clock rolled around and the panel moderator began to announce everyone, one by one, and you managed to force down your anxiety, taking your place on the stage between Karl and Nick when the mod called, “(y/s/n), one of the first people to actually join the dream smp.”
You sat down, smiling at the audience and quickly sneaking out your phone to take a quick video of your friends and then a pan of the crowd to put on twitter later.
Once everyone was on stage the moderator looked up and down the long table, “Wow, there are a lot of people on stage right now, is this everyone from the server?”
Clay nodded, “Just about, we have a few others, Alyssa, Callahan, Ponk and Antfrost, who had other stuff going on, but for the most part, this is everyone from the server.”
“This is honestly incredible, how, how are you guys all feeling about being here? I know this is the first Dream SMP panel, but you guys have been to vidcon before right?”
“Most of us,” George laughed, “I think the only one who hasn’t is (y/s/n), there first ever panel was yesterday.”
The mod looked over at you, “So, how does it feel to be at your first vidcon?”
You laughed nervously, “Well, I mean, I’ve been to vid con before, but I was always out there in the audience, it’s- it’s pretty nerve wracking to be up here.”
The topic shifted and after that things seemed to move more quickly.
In the blink of an eye the first hour and a half was spent and people from the audience began to ask questions.
“Wilbur, as the main writer for roleplaying on the server is it hard to keep track of character specifics and story arcs or is it all just written in with the scripts?”
Someone asked.Wilbur hummed, “Well I guess in part it’s written in the scripts, but I think I should turn this question over to (y/s/n), they’ll have a more interesting answer.”
Everyone turned to you.
“Well, in my mind it isn’t all that hard, but I am literally the kid who memorized long monologues for fun.” You chuckled, “Once the first revolution arc started and the server really started to turn to roleplaying I started a google doc that now gets updated constantly. I have running tabs on current arcs, details on arcs that have ended and then there's detailed character descriptions.
“I don’t necessarily write down bits to add while I’m streaming or anything, but most of the time it has to be the middle of the night or I won’t file anything correctly.”
Nick chuckled, “I have seen the document, it is terrifying.”
“Didn’t someone open it to see you updating in the middle of the night once?” Ranboo asked.
Alex nodded, “Yeah that was me, it was very traumatic, like, I blinked, and then there was another fifty words on the page.”
You dropped your head in your hands, “It was the night after the whole election thing! Techno joined the server and then I had to add a whole ‘nother character profile, and he and his stupid English major were making things complicated!”
“Listen man, I just wanted to make sure I had a backstory that fit into the story line, ‘s not my fault when Wilbur lets Dream have partial control of thing the storyline ends up non cohesive.”
People laughed, and the topic was changed with the next question.
~~
Two and a half hours later, an extra hour after the panel was supposed to end, (there was just so many extra questions), you headed off stage, and were all rushed across the center for the meet and greet, which had been pushed back in time with the panel.
You felt bad for making the fans wait, but the organizers assured you that it was fine, most of the fans had been at the panel anyway.
In the big open hall the orginizors spilt everyone up into groups of threes and fours, the way fans could move down the line and see everyone.
Inevitably you ended up with Karl, Nick and Alex, at the end of the long sections of people.
“Holy shit man, how is it already 6?” Alex asked.
“Who knows.” Nick muttered glancing down at his phone.
“Dude this is supposed to go for like three hours too.” You complained, rocking up on your heals to look down the line, seeing the first groups of people starting to move past Tommy, Tubbo and Fundy.
“We’ll be fine! It’s always fun to meet fans!” Karl said, though he did look slightly wary.
After another three hours of talking to fans, signing things, and taking pictures the last group of people finally made it to your section.
“Hey! They saved the coolest for last!” The boy exclaimed.
“Hell yeah they did!” Alex half yelled back, some how still managing to keep up the enthusiasm.
“Here, let’s get you guys all in a picture together!” His mother said, motioning for you to all stand together. You slung an arm around the kids shoulder, smiling at the camera. “
“Okay serious question time, which one of us is the best?”
“Uhh,” the boy looked from person to person, “probably you (y/s/n), your contents really cool but your under rated.”
You grinned, offering him a fist bump, “ha! See that’s the third person in the last hour!”
Karl scoffed, “but I got like six people over all.”
“I only got five.” Alex pouted.
You rolled your eyes as the boy asked, “So if you guys are in a poly relationship on the server does it create problems with your friendship in real life?”
You all froze, except for Nick who somehow seemed to know this was coming, “Well, in game and out of game relationships are different, sure you can ship all you want, but that doesn’t mean stuff actually happens in real life.”
The kid nodded, “Cool, hey I saw your stream like, during quesrentine, just a question, how many people have tried to fight you today?”
You laughed, “at least 15 took pictures with him squared up.”
A few minutes more and the kid was gone, being ushered away by his mom, and you glanced at your phone, “holy shit it’s already 9:15.”
“Where did the time go?” Kale asked incredulous.
~~
After meeting back up with the rest of the group you all headed off to terrorize a McDonald’s, drawing a lot of attention from random fans as you all scarfed down food.
By the time you got back to the Airbnb it was nearly 11pm and everyone was exhausted.
After quickly getting ready for bed you a collapsed.
~~
The next morning you woke up, and for a moment worth your eyes still closed you were perfectly content with the warmth pressed agasint you.
Then you came fully too, realizing that, no, you weren’t fully swaddled in your comforter, you were laying in a bed with other people.
Opening your eyes you blinked away sleep, looking down, confused to see Alex asleep with his head on your chest.
Turning your head you saw that it was Nick on your other side an arm wrapped around you both.
Karl was half sprawled across all of you, similarly to the airport, as if he could hold all of you at once. You sat in shock for several moments before realizing you were in fact, trapped in bed.
Alex’s fingers were tangled with yours, Nicks nose was pressed into your neck, and you could have sworn Karl shifted in his sleep, as if to get closer to you.
‘Well,’ you thought, ‘might as well make the most of it.’ As settled back down to fall back asleep.
~~
Once you had all woke again, no one spoke as they headed back to there own rooms, and your crossed back through the bathroom form Nicks.
~~
The rest of the day past, still no one speaking about it, and that night you found yourself laying in your own bed, wondering why it felt so wrong.
There was muffled whispers from Nicks room, and you quietly got up, moving into the bathroom to hear better.
Unfortunately for you Nicks door to the bathroom was still open, so you couldn’t eavesdrop as planned.
Karl and Alex were both sat on the bed next to each other as Nick paced. “What’s going on?” You asked quietly
“Would- would it be weird if we cuddled again?” Alex asked hesitantly.
“We were debating asking you.” Karl admitted.
Nick nodded, “You don’t have to, it’s just- we-“
Quietly you crossed the room, climbing into the bed instead of answering the question outright.
~~
“Is- I- am I stupid, or is this something?” Alex whispered.
Vidcon had ended and even with the long weekend everyone was staying in California the time had gone all to fast.
You, Alex, Karl and Nick had continued to cuddle every night, still not talking about it during the day.
“Do you think it could be?” Was your only response, continuing to card your fingers through Karl’s hair.
“It seems like it already is.” Nick said.
Karl yawned, “I think I’d like it to be.You nodded,
“me too.”
“Me too.” Nick agreed.
Alex smiled, “I guess it’s decided then.”
The dark room was quiet another moment before you snickered, “It’s cannon irl now guys. What will the fans think?”

Why So Serious? [Yoongi x Reader]

Summary - Why is your babygirl crying? And what can Daddy Yoongi do to make it better.
🎶- People - Agust D
Warning - Crying; Bad feelings(implied); Confused parents (at first)
Word Count - 1.7k
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
'No.' You looked up at the short answer. Four year old tempers were a thing, you understood that but your baby girl hadn't said no to picking up her toys before.
After playtime Mina usually cleaned up after herself, the task relatively easy for her, something like a game to put everything in its place in the shortest time she could.
You believed she got it from her father, because there was no way the trait came from you. You relished in your organized chaos, if it felt like it should be there it would stay there. You would go as far as capping your pens but they were never in their holders, just strewn about your desk, the closest color to your mood for the day.
Stretching your arms out along the island where you were chopping up pieces of apple for a midday snack you gave your toddler your full attention.
'But your LEGOs are all over Minnie, and you finished playing with them this morning,' you tried to sound as gentle as possible - an invitation for an explanation.
'I don't want to.' She shook her head back and forth, no playfulness present, mouth a stubborn line, as if that answer was good enough.
'Mina, those are your toys, you played with them, would it be fair for Mommy to clean up after you?'
Shaking her head in response she looked down and away from you, twiddling with the ears of the giraffe teddy in her hand.
You gave her a minute to move, to respond, each second of it hiking up your level of annoyance.
'I won't ask again, Mina.' Your voice was stern now, patience worn thin.
'No, Mommy, No!' She cried out, and ran out of the room toward Yoongi's study.
'Mina,' you dragged out, following swiftly after her.
You found Yoongi at his desk, phone at his ear, he looked at you and motioned with his eyes toward the tuft of hair peeking out from between his legs.
Leaning on the door you watched her cry, something in you tugging at your chest in frustration, because all you wanted was for her to listen, but you also didn’t want her to cry. She was never like this.
'-- I'll email them by tomorrow, yeah sure, just text me. We can set up a meeting to discuss the list.' Ending his call, Yoongi discarded his phone immediately and reached between his legs to settle his babygirl on his lap.
The transition would amuse you on any other day, the serious, intimidating Min Yoongi, softening his lips, his eyes, using gentle fingers against Mina's cheeks to wipe away her tears.
'What is my pretty girl crying about huh,' he asked, as he tried to make her face him.
Shaking her head in refusal to answer, he looked up at you, a camouflaged seriousness in his eyes, meant only for you.
'She refuses to pick up her LEGOs, told me no, and when I asked her again she ran out of the room crying.' Your voice sounded even but just by looking at you Yoongi could see, you were unnerved. The tantrum uncharted territory, especially for a task carried out so many times before.
'Daddy!' You had barely explained before she burst into tears again, falling into his chest, hiding her face from view.
Holding her close and patting her head tenderly he looked up at you in alarm, 'Why is she-, ' he mouthed at you.
'I don't know,' you mouthed back, shrugging your shoulders in emphasis, your expression bewildered.
Staring ahead for a few seconds, he contemplated before his eyebrows smoothed out, a realization crossed his face, as he decided to do something.
Interest piqued, you straightened up, and watched him, ready to jump in and follow his lead.
Your crying four year old still bawled her eyes out, hiccups coming from her chest, her throat would be ouchy later, you thought in concern.
‘Shh, baby, shh, you aren't in trouble, but you need to tell Daddy why you won’t clean up your toys.’ His voice was soft and coaxing as he gradually pulled her back to look at him. Grabbing tissues from the box he had near his desk for situations like sticky fingers and leaky noses, he wiped her tears and her small nose.
Yoongi, even now, in a situation like this had you in a pile of mush. He was not outwardly one for softness, especially with his blunt nature and his solid hands, but here he was gingerly running his fingers through Mina’s hair and setting it as he cooed at her to stop crying, to listen to Daddy.
Her voice hoarse from crying so hard she answered him, ‘I don't feel okay daddy.’
‘Are you hungry?’ Yoongi prompted, discarding the tissues in the wastebin, his hand now at her back and waist, holding her up, and lowering his head with a sulky expression to match hers.
With a shake of her head, she rubbed at her eye, he tilted his head to the side, and prompted again. ‘Are you tired? We could nap, you and I together, Mommy too.’
Another shake of her head, this time her frown prominent and lip quivering, as if ready to burst into another set of tears.
‘Did mommy do or say something bad to you,’ he asked in a whisper, talking her into telling him a secret.
Your eyes widened at the question, panicking internally in resistance. What was that supposed to mean? As if there were eyes at the back of his head, he held up his hand, a clear sign to wait.
Mina shook her head hard, now in a state, more confusion than ever clouding her features as she battled not to cry. ‘It feels bad, Daddy, I don’t like it and it won’t go away.’
‘Is it telling you to be mean to Mommy?’ Yoongi asked as she grabbed onto his shirt again, ready to hide away.
‘It just feels icky,’ she answered wetly, looking over at you her eyes widened momentarily ‘Mommy don't cry. Daddy I made Mommy cry,’ she cried out in desperation.
Your eyes blurred with unshed tears at your baby’s voice, holding a hand to your mouth you kept as quiet as possible. Yoongi had this.
Yoongi swallowed hard at his daughter's face, his protective instincts flaring, but this was one boogeyman he needed her to fight with him.
‘Baby,’ he used another tissue to wipe up the fresh tears. Moving the keyboard aside, he sat her up on his desk in front of him so she could lay her head on his shoulder and he could rub her back. ‘Sometimes Mina, we feel bad inside, and we don't know what to do about it.’ His voice was smooth as he explained, no indication that he had been affected. ‘It tells us to be mean, because we don't know what we’re really feeling and it's okay baby, because Mommy and Daddy feel it too, and we’re here for you. We love you.’’
‘Do you think it's okay to be mean to mommy.’ He was so patient about it as he asked her and it left you in awe as he made her understand.
‘No,’ the word muffled as half her face was squished on her father’s shoulder.
‘No it isn't, baby, and we can't help you if you don't tell us what's wrong.’ Pulling back he smiled softly, her cheeks puffed up and blotchy, eyes shiny but without tears. ‘If you told mummy you were feeling icky, she would have tried to help, right?’
She nodded enthusiastically at that. ‘Mommy always helps me.’
Your heart soared at the statement as you watched the energy come back to your Mina.
‘There's my girl,’ Yoongi smirked as he pinched her nose and she scrunched up her face, at the action. ‘So from now on, when you feel like this again, you can tell Mommy or Daddy and we can help you and take care of you.’ Holding out his pinky finger, she smiled as she curled her small pinky finger around his - she knew we took pinky promises very seriously.
‘Come on, let's go give mummy a hug and tell her you're sorry.’ She reached up her hands to be picked up as he stood from his office chair.
Mina reached out for you as Yoongi carried her towards you and you plucked her easily from him. Her hands immediately wrapped around your neck and she placed a wet kiss on your cheek.
‘I'm sorry for being meany mommy.’
‘It's okay baby,’ rocking her back and forth, you closed your eyes at the feel of your small human in your arms, a certain escape, as if everything in the world mattered a little less as long as she was okay. ‘Mommy feels bad too sometimes, and you know what daddy does?’ You prompted excitedly.
She leaned back to look at you, her cheeks puffy, lips pouting, as she listened to you.
‘Daddy gives me lots of cuddles and kisses me here and here and here and here,’ you placed kisses on her cheeks and forehead and nose, ‘and he gives me food, and chocolate and anything else I want.’
Giggling now, your chest ached at her happiness, a sweet ache, her importance beyond anything she could imagine.
‘Did you know Daddy got me Gloss when I felt really really bad.’
‘Big white gloss,’ she motioned with her hands, her eyes full of wonderment.
‘Yep,’ you popped the ‘p’. ‘Big white gloss,’ your own excitement palpable at the mention of the white teddy bear on your bed, his size slightly bigger than her form.
‘Mommy,’ she motioned you forward with her hand and you leaned closer to her, ‘Can daddy get me a gloss too?’ She told you in your ear.
Her very loud whisper had you turning your attention to the man who now leaned against the wall and watched the interaction.
He smiled his gummy smile as wrapped his arms around both of you and answered her softly, ‘Anything for you Minnie.’

“Unity” and the Broken Boys
BOY Y’ALL BETTER SIT DOWN BECAUSE THIS IS AS LONG AS CAN BE AND I TOOK OFF WORK TOMORROW SO I’VE GOT TIME
This is....one of the best episodes in the show. Yeah, in all 325 of them, this is hands down one of the best.
First of all, stan Amara for clear skin.
That silent treatment babey, right out the gate with the Angst. Tbh Dean deserves it.
“Like I said, killing Amara, Jack dying...that’s the only way.”
“The only way. Our one shot. Our Last chance. You ever get tired of saying stuff like that?”
“We don’t have to like it, alright? But you and me, we gotta get it done.”
Amara is such a welcome energy in this whole episode. She’s warm and understanding, whip-smart and probably more powerful than Chuck. I love her.
Sam is a wonderful, understanding, loving dad. I love him eternally. He loves Jack so much, he’s trying so desperately to do what’s right for Jack but also what’s right for the world. Jack made this choice, but he can’t live with it. How do you support your child when their life is at stake?
“Come on man. Blindly following orders, lying to Amara, sending her to her death. Does any of this feel right to you??”
“It doesn’t matter how we feel! You know what? Stay. Stay. Someone has to be the grown up here.”
“Yeah well someone has to keep fighting for Jack!”
“He knows what he signed up for!”
“Last I checked, we don’t give up on family.”
“Jack’s not family.”
Y’all should have heard the noise I made. What a fucking line.
“I know how you feel about the kid, I care for him too, I do, but he’s not like you. He’s not like Cas. He’s just not.”
“I’m- I’m ready.”
You can see the regret, the heartbreak in Dean’s eyes. You can see how he wants to take those words back the moment he said them, and for Jack to hear them? It’s unthinkable.
Sam and Cas I’m just so fucking emo dude.
“Sam, you stayed behind to find another way huh? I woulda done the same.”
AMARA
First of all, LOVE this structure.
Amara and Chuck have such a fascinating dynamic. Rob and Emily do a great job (as they have all along) by clearly being siblings but...heightened. You can just tell they both exude power, and the other is the only one they consider an equal.
“You and Dean had that whole weird...thing.”
“That wasn’t you writing?”
“Ugh, not that part. Gross.”
What I took away from this is what I’ve suspected all along. They HAVE free will, just not total free will. Dean and Amara’s connection wasn’t Chuck, there are parts of the story he didn’t write. Obviously, this comes into play later.
I also have a hunch that Chuck doesn’t write romance. I also think that in particular will come into play.
“Balance. Something we’ve never tried before. Creation and destruction, light and dark, brother and sister united again, but on behalf of one world, this world. True balance. The way it was always meant to be. But you can’t. You only care about your pleasure, your story. Well, I guess that makes you the villain.”
“Villains get all the best lines.”
We see again and again this season, Chuck is irredeemable. He doesn’t care about the angels, he doesn’t care about the world, he doesn’t care about anything. He is a petulant toddler who has broken his toys. And when he realizes he’s trapped, he gets angry, he shouts and screams, completely at odds with Amara’s peace.
“You can’t hold me here forever.”
“I can hold you long enough.”
DEAN
Pain is the name of the game in this section homies. Because not only are we dealing with Dean’s pain, we’re also dealing with Jack’s. Jack says he understands why Cas and Sam mean more to Dean, but Dean clearly doesn’t, he, once again, wants to say more, but is stopped, still stopped by his fear: his fear of not beating Chuck.
Alright guys, gals, and non-binary pals. Let’s talk about Adam and Seraphina.
Adam. The first man. And Seraphina. The angel.
“My old lady. She’s the only one who could put up with me all these years.”
Yeah okay. Volume at 100 I get it lmao.
But also: Adam wants God dead not because he and Eve were kicked out of the Garden, but because he went after their sons. The theme of protecting the children strikes again.
“Killing God is your plan?”
“Yeah, Billie’s been giving us a hand but Sera and me, this is our baby.”
This juxtaposed directly with Dean’s own pain at what he has to do to kill Chuck, to gain his free will: the cost of his child.
Adam’s rib.
And who else might get his ribs hurt, only to be likely healed by an angel?
It’s fine, that’s fine. I’m fine with that.
“Jack, I don’t know how to explain it but, when I found out about Chuck, it’s like I wasn’t alive. Not really. You know like my whole life I’ve never been free, but like really free. But now? Now me and Sam, we got a shot at living a life, without all this crap on our backs. And that’s, that’s because of you. So, I want to say, I need to say...thank you, Jack. Thank you.”
I’m gonna have to do a separate post about just Dean in this episode, because there is so fucking much to talk about, but there are a couple of things that I think are important: Dean realizes how wrong he was, to say what he said. He knows that it’s not true, this is the way he’s always coped with loss, by pushing the person to be lost away, but for Jack to hear it? He can’t stand for that.
And:
Dean has finally pushed through the barrier. He won’t be quiet in the face of his doubts anymore. This is a breakthrough for him, and, of course, there are more to come.
SAM
Sam and Cas, my chaos duo.
The box, the inscription, the door.
Death’s library, filled with dead reapers.
And there it is. The Empty.
It tells Sam the plan, the plan for Billie to take God’s place. For everything to go back to the way it’s “supposed to be.”
This has always been the game, since season 13. This is the longest of long games.
Sam fuckin Winchester, lying his way out of a confrontation with the Empty like the legend that he is.
He comes back with a new purpose: to stop Billie’s plan, and here’s where we get to the heart of the episode and maybe the heart of the season.
“You hear that? Dean, brought to the edge of doubt. His sense of duty, his rage winning out in the end. And poor Sam, always gotta know everything. Can’t leave well enough alone. This is my ending, my real ending.”
The gun comes out, pointed at Sam.
Hmm...what did I say during 15x05? Oh yeah, this.
And:
Dean would never survive killing Sam, but he’s willing to do anything, anything to earn his freedom. His ending, where one brother kills the other and then kill himself.
Why, you might ask, did Sam not mention that the angels would be sent back to Heaven, why does he not mention Cas? I’ll tell you why, or rather, Becky will.
Plus, Dean looks back at Cas IMMEDIATELY when Sam says that, when he mentions Eileen, and THAT’S the first time he hesitates. He can’t lose Cas. But at the same time, he’s willing to do anything to have his freedom.
“Sam we don’t have a choice, Jack’s about to blow!”
“We always have a choice!”
You know me, just sitting here thinking about choice, the ability to choose, and how that translates to their free will.
And Sam...I don’t think there will ever be characters I love as much as these.
“I don’t care if Billie gets what she wants! I don’t man, I’d trade it all, I’d trade em all for Chuck. In a heartbeat!”
“What about me?”
“You’d trade me?”
“Chuck has to die. He has to! Otherwise he’ll keep us tap dancing forever, and I can’t live like that man, I can’t live like that, I won’t!”
“I know you feel like that right now, okay? I know you do, but you gotta trust me. My entire life, you’ve protected me. From Dad, from Lucifer, from everything. I didn’t always like it, you know? But it’s the one thing in the whole world that I could always count on. It’s the only thing I’ve ever known that was true. So please, put the gun away. Just put it away. We’ll figure it out, Dean, we’ll find another way, you and me. We always do.”
Okay I feel like this is going to be one of those scenes that I cry watching for years to come. Because fuck. After fifteen years they finally admit that not only did Dean protect Sam from Lucifer, but he protected him from John. John. On a par with Lucifer.
Dean and Sam have, for so many years, sacrificed themselves for the other. Dean’s demon deal, Sam and the trials, every season they have fought to see who can die the quickest for the other. But this? This is them fighting to stop the violence, to stop from killing the big bad. This is them growing, in our eyes, in real time. Sam has always been able to get through to Dean when no one else had a prayer, but for Dean to listen, for Dean to take his words to heart, to stop the hunt for Sam, for their family, that’s how you know they do have free will.
(Btw Chuck’s eye effect when he dusted Amara was sick as fuck but I’m emo for my boys so.)
Chuck knows it’s a loss, he knows that his story has, once again, been thwarted by the boys making their own choices. And he’s pissed, but in his anger, we get a bomb dropped on us.
“Spare me your contempt Castiel, the self-hating angel of Thursday. You know what every other version of you did after “gripping him tight and raising him from perdition”? They did what they were told. But not you. Not the one off the line with a crack in his chassis.”
Are you fucking kidding me?
Also, just worth bringing up this one as well:
Every Castiel pulled Dean out of Hell. Every one told him the same thing. And yet, immediately, with this Cas and this Dean, something was different. Because what has everyone seen about Cas, from the moment he met Dean?
And there’s our endgame people. Laid out on the line.
But we ain’t done yet, fam.
We’ve talked about the handprint, but you know:
So there you have it, our prep into the “monumental” 15x18. I have spec on that, of course, but I think a novel is long enough for this.
What to take away: Dean’s rage was always Chuck’s plan, they do have free will, their love for each other, for their family, is what will stop Chuck’s control, Death is about to come back with a vengeance, Cas’ deal is at play, and, most importantly, Castiel and Dean Winchester are a blind spot for Chuck, something he has never, not once, controlled.
#welcome to my essay lmao#supernatural#spn#spoilers#my meta#spn 15x17#destiel#dean winchester#sam winchester#jack kline#castiel#amara#chuck shurley#lilly liveblogs supernatural

What's In A Name
okay, this took me longer than I expected... but here is the fic based on this post
Title: What's In A Name
Summary: Danny thought that having a sub in class would make things easier. Unfortunately, this leads to everyone finding out that his first name isn't Daniel.
His class isn't taking the news very well.
word count: 1670
you can read it on AO3 or down below the cut!
Oh, and I guess I'll tag the people from that post: @spookberry @shinygoldstar
Danny had just gotten to school and was getting his supplies for first period when Tucker ran up with way more excitement for this early in the morning.
“Dude, you’re never going to believe it!”
“Believe what?” Danny asked with an amused grin.
“Lancer took a sick day since the first time in forever!”
Danny felt like he was missing something.
Tucker rolled his eyes when Danny didn’t react correctly, “Subs, man. We have subs.”
“In all of his classes?” Danny asked as the news finally sunk in.
“Yup.” Tucker said with confidence as he popped the ‘p’.
“I have so many classes with him.”
“I know dude, me too!” He wrapped his arm around Danny’s shoulder, “Which means that today is going to be a breeze.”
Danny smiled and couldn’t help getting excited about a nice easy day at school.
================================================
His first class was easy.
The sub seemed just as tired as they were and simply checked that they were in their assigned seats and handed out a worksheet for them to do.
Once the teacher made it clear that they didn’t care if they worked together or not, it turned into more of a hang-out session than actually getting much work done.
================================================
His second period was science which he didn’t have with Mr. Lancer so he actually had to pay attention.
It was a lab day and he was still banned for life from handling all fragile school property, so the lab they had was a bit difficult until the teacher remembered (was reminded) and let him team up with Mikey.
All he had to do was take notes on what was happening. Which was fine. He could do that no problem.
All Mikey asked was for his handwriting to be legible.
================================================
It was his third class that ruined everything. It had all been going so well until then.
The teacher had decided to ignore the seating chart list and did roll by reading off the class roster list on the computer. Which in theory would be fine, except that the computer list didn’t have the notes that Mr. Lancer had added over the year, things like nicknames for instance.
It would have been fine if she had called him Daniel. It would have reminded him of Vlad, which would have been annoying, but manageable.
Unfortunately his first name isn’t Daniel.
“Johnathan?”
Everyone perked up at the name. They looked around, confusion evident on all of their faces. There was no Johnathan in this class. No John or Johnny’s. Was this a secret classmate? It couldn’t be, all the seats were full and no one here was Johnathan.
The teacher sighed and tried again, “Johnathan Fenton?”
Danny perked up and raised his hand, “Here. Sorry. I just um, everyone calls me Danny. Or Daniel, or just Fenton.” he realized he had been rambling and apologized again.
He looked down at his desk still embarrassed that he sort of forgot his own first name for a second. Then he felt like he was being watched.
He looked up and realized everyone, but Tucker, who was too busy chuckling to himself, was staring at him with varying degrees of confusion and anger. Sam included.
The class said nothing. Only stared for the remainder of the roll call.
Once the teacher was finished, and before they could truly start class, Dash was the first to break the silent tension. “Your name is Johnathan?!”
“Yes?” Danny answered hesitantly as he leaned away from the angry jock. Normally Dash wasn’t much of a threat anymore after all the ghost hunting, but he couldn’t exactly use his powers in the middle of class.
“Since when?!”
“Birth?”
“No!” Dash countered.
“Look, I’m named after my dad and it’s too confusing if we both go by the same name, so we just use my middle name instead.”
“But your dad’s name is Jack.”
“Which is short for Johnathan,” Danny explained with a sigh.
Dash sputtered in confused annoyance. Apparently, he didn’t know that either.
Before he could get too angry about his lack of knowledge, the teacher made it clear that they were going to start class now.
Dash glared at Danny and pointed an accusatory finger at him, “I don’t believe you, Fenton.”
“Okay?” Danny shrugged it off and the rest of the class went back to ignoring him.
Except for Sam.
She was still glaring at him.
“What?” Danny mouthed not a hundred percent sure as to what his gothic friend was upset about.
She flipped open her notebook hard enough for the paper cover to slap against the desk and furiously scribbled something down before tearing out the page and quickly folding it like a ninja star and chucking it at his head.
He carefully unfolded the note and read it.
“Are you serious?! Is this some elaborate prank?”
Danny looked up to Sam in surprise and then back to the note.
“No really. That is my name.” he wrote before trying his best to fold the note back up as she had it. He really wasn’t as good at it as she was.
She wrote her response quickly and made a point to get the creases of the folds just right. “Then why is Tucker laughing?”
“I don’t know? I’m not a mind reader Sam.”
“Did he know?”
“Yeah.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
He didn’t really understand why she was so upset by this. It didn’t really matter. Did it? “I wasn’t keeping it a secret. I just forgot.”
“Forgot what? That it was your name or that I didn’t know?”
He hesitated too long and Tucker finally snatched the note from him and read it over before snickering to himself and added his own two cents before tossing it back to Sam.
Finally, Sam smiled. With a roll of her eyes, she slipped the note into the pocket of her notebook and went to doodling like nothing was wrong.
Danny wasn’t really sure what that was all about, but he was glad it was over.
================================================
The rest of the day was mostly fine. His friends teased him about his full name occasionally throughout the day, but it was nothing he couldn’t handle.
Dash kept giving him the stink eye, which was weird, but better than being shoved into his own locker.
Lunch was a bit of a disaster once Tucker let out his inner bookie and started holding bets on what Danny’s real name was.
There were three options.
One was that his name was really Daniel and he was just pranking everyone somehow.
The second was that his name really was Johnathan and he was telling the truth because Fenton can’t tell a lie to save his life.
While the third was that he had a completely different name and may or may not be related to the Fenton’s at all.
Danny wasn’t sure if he should be finding all of this hilarious or just plain annoying. Maybe it was one of those, ‘we’ll laugh about it when we’re older’ things?
Of course, word spread fast and everyone was trying to figure out what the real answer was. No one was asking Danny, because they weren’t sure if he actually was a reliable source. Tucker refused to give the answer until the end of the day when he would reveal the winners. And Sam admitted that all of the name nonsense was news to her, but since she loved chaos, she would wink and add, “But it could be true.”
Danny realized too late that the only other person to ask before the end of the day was his sister.
Before he could get to her, someone else beat him to it.
Dash had cornered her just outside of the library and asked, “What’s your brother’s name,” without any preamble.
Of course, Jazz, being two years older than them and in none of their classes, had no idea what had been going on. So she answered the question as best she could despite the confusion, “Danny?”
“Ha! I knew he was a liar!” Dash boasted as he turned around and punched his fist into his open palm as he eyed Danny.
“Wait!” He called out to Dash before turning his attention to his sister, “He means my first name!”
“Oh,” she turned to Dash, “Why didn’t you just say that?”
Dash’s shoulders slumped in defeat, “his name isn’t Danny?”
“His middle name is, but not his first name.” she turned back to Danny, “Didn’t you explain it?”
“Of course I did! He just didn’t believe me! And now the whole school is losing their minds because they think this is some crazy prank or that I’m a liar or something.”
Danny sighed and composed himself before giving the warning as he had meant to, “Tucker is taking bets on what my name is so other people might ask you about it too.”
Jazz hummed thoughtfully to herself while nodding, “I’ll keep that in mind.”
“You are going to tell them the truth right?”
“Of course,” she said but she still had that far-off look in her eye.
Danny figured he would probably regret asking, but he was just too curious, “what are you thinking about?”
“This is very interesting from a psychological perspective, don’t you think?”
“How?”
“Well by learning that what they assumed to be true, wasn’t, it has shifted their perspective on things.”
“Do you really think it’s that deep?”
“What do you think it is then?” she asked, not annoyed that her theory was being questioned, just curious.
“I think people just like drama.”
“Perhaps.” she said as she watched a dejected Dash walk away, “and maybe it’s a bit of both.”
“Whatever it is I hope it goes away tomorrow.” he walked away and wondered if this was a preview as to what would happen if his secret got out.
He stopped in his tracks with a sigh. No, if they found out he was really Danny Phantom it would be worse. So much worse.

ahem here is a self indulgent domestic nanami x reader fanfiction that i also posted on ao3. u can tell i wrote it bc i looked at nanami and said ‘that’s a man that wears sock garters and that’s very sexy of him’
routine // 3k words // nanami x reader warnings: afab reader, fem pronoun, domestic stuff, nsfw, fingering, creampie, idk pals i’m just thirsty
You don’t mind the mundane.
No, that’s not quite it. It’s not that you don’t mind the mundane – you do, when it becomes sticky and muddled and drags on and on and on. You’ve been trapped in an endless cycle like that before; allowing life to happen to you, as trade-off for simplicity. Planning things that didn’t materialise. You hadn’t realised that’s what you were doing, at the time – but looking back on it now, it’s clear as day, because it was exactly what had been happening to him.
Your life is not mundane. Your life is . . . routine.
Yes, that’s right. You stick to a schedule. You keep time. You plan things – and it’s not mundane, not any more, because this time as you stick to your routine, Nanami is right there beside you.
It’s domestic. Comfortable. Oh, you worry about him – he comes home enough times with scrapes and bruises he didn’t have before and tells you about his day, world-weary – but you also know he’s more than strong enough to withstand. You curl up next to him whilst he reads a book, or whilst you watch television. You cook for him on the few days off that he snatches for himself (though he often wraps himself around you whilst you do cook, directing you or helping. He’s a better cook than you, but you have more time than him). You drape yourself over the back of his armchair sometimes and work on the knots in his neck.
“You get too stressed,” you tell him. His lips quirk into a brief curve of a smile before they return to their usual position.
“Maybe,” he says. “But you help me with that.”
For all of the unusual things in your lives, your existence is uncomplicated. You watch weight roll off of him when he comes in through the front door and is once more safely ensconced in a little slice of home. You and he share the household duties; he’s meticulous and careful, and you admire him sometimes when you think he’s not watching for being so . . . balanced, you suppose.
(“That’s you, too,” he tells you. He shrugs. “Everyone else . . . they’re living absolute chaos. But I get to come back after I clock off, to you, and . . . this.” He gestures to the little home. It’s nothing special. It’s neat and tidy and small and the two of you have reasonable savings in the bank. Responsible. You think he keeps you balanced, too.)
But . . .
Well. He’s not always so in-control.
He hadn’t sounded harried when he’d called you. He doesn’t often; instead, his voice had been calm. You know Nanami well enough to know when there’s frustration bubbling under the surface, but his tone had been smooth.
“I’ll be home late,” he’d said. “Don’t wait up.”
“Overtime?” You’d asked, already looking at the pot boiling on the stove and wondering if it could be salvaged for tomorrow’s dinner. Nanami had paused, and then sighed.
“Mm.”
You don’t let yourself worry too much. Nanami handles whatever is thrown at him – he’s always in control, poised. . . The most you see him frustrated is from calls from Gojo in the middle of the night.
You put your own phone away. There’s no use in concern yet, you tell yourself.
You don’t start to worry until you crawl into bed without having heard from him. This is late, even for him. You try not to let your anxiety eat away at you as you close your eyes and lay your head on the pillow, but the scent of him permeates every part of your bedroom. One of his shirts hangs loosely on the back of the wardrobe door. The drawer on his side of the bed that contains a collection of novelty ties (bought by you, because you’d thought they were funny – and Nanami had smiled at the first one, and laughed at the second, so you just hadn’t stopped) is still half-open from him rifling through it this morning.
The click of a key in the front door makes you let out a breath you hadn’t realised you were holding. The sound of footsteps on the wooden floorboards, a familiar, steady cadence, makes you let go of sheets you hadn’t realised you were clutching.
Nanami’s head rounds the door.
“You’re late,” you tell him.
“I am,” he affirms. He steps into the room proper and you see that his shirt-sleeves are rolled up, and there’s a splash of blood on his left shoulder. He probably was in more bother than he let on, then. You don’t think it’s his blood, at least. He sighs. “I’m sorry. I don’t like it any more than you do.”
You sag. You know it’s part and parcel of what he does – and so, you move in the bed from where you’ve unconsciously pressed yourself into his side to breathe in the familiar scent of him. You know Nanami doesn’t miss you’ve done it – he comes to sit on the edge of the bed as he meticulously undoes his tie.
He reaches over to you and cups your cheek in his hand, his fingers warm and calloused.
“How about I make it up to you?” He asks, and you sigh as he breaches the gap and kisses you. Everything about his kiss is familiar and comforting – you’re pressing back against him before you even think about it, hand coming to tangle in the neatly combed hair. He tastes like coffee, and it makes your eyes open against the kiss and check the time. It’s late. Nanami generally prefers to be sleeping by now. You'd once laughed and told him he was boring, and he'd raised his eyebrows and smiled as he'd told you that sleep was important. After spending the night wrapped around him, your head on his chest, listening to the beat of his heart - you'd been inclined to agree.
“Aren’t you tired?” You murmur, breaking the kiss yourself. Nanami quirks an eyebrow at you. The hand still on your face brushes across your cheekbone tenderly. You don’t think anyone who works with Nanami imagines him like this – messy-haired, half-undressed, his stoic composure gone to softness. Every time he even half-smiles, your heart feels like it will ricochet out of his rib-cage, but when he looks at you now you get the full thing.
“Too tired for you? Never.” He shifts on the bed, shrugging off his suspenders along with the stained shirt. He’ll do that laundry himself – he always does, when it’s bloodstains. “Besides,” he breathes as his hands move to stroke over your shoulders, his breath tickling the junction where your neck and collarbone meet and making you shiver. “I still have plenty of energy to work off before I can get to sleep peacefully.”
“Well,” you swallow. “I’d hate to be the reason you don’t get a fulfilling night’s rest—”
The bed covers are swept off of you. When Nanami has made up his mind to do something, he does it – and right now, it appears what he’s made up his mind to do is you. His hands are big on your hips, sliding up the loose shirt of your pyjamas. You let out a soft huff of breath as he pushes them up over your breasts that makes him lean in and kiss your neck, his teeth scraping the sensitive flesh. Your fingers flex on his shoulders as he cages you underneath him.
“Oh,” he promises against the skin. “When we’re done, I’ll rest very easy.”
You lose the shirt just as quickly as Nanami lost his, and then you both stop talking. Nanami is the kind of man who doesn’t use a hundred words when one or two will do – he’s happy to have conversations, when conversation is the name of the game . . . but conversation is not the name of the game when his mouth is busy kissing your neck, your throat, your collarbone . . . When his lips are wrapping around your nipple and teasing it to a hardened point until you moan aloud.
In the pit of your stomach is heat and fire and need. When Nanami moves against you and your thighs press together, you can already feel that you’re slick and warm with the promise of what is still to come – and when Nanami, too, moves, you can tell that he’s looking forward to things just as much as you are.
His thumbs hook into the shorts of the nightwear set you were wearing. The fear of less than an hour ago seems to have dissipated in the wind – it’s hard to remember how worried you were when Nanami comes home fired up like this. He drags the fabric down your thighs, tsk-ing at how they catch.
“A nightgown or shirt would be more efficient,” he tells you. “You’re welcome to one of mine.”
Your cheeks heat up at the idea of sleeping in one of his shirts, and Nanami doesn’t miss how your skin warms underneath him. You’re so cute. He kisses you again so he doesn’t embarrass himself, this time peeling off your underwear (the thin cotton clings to your damp sex and your breath hitches at how it feels, peeling away).
“Are you going to tell me it’d be more efficient if I weren’t wearing them?” You say, your voice coming out low and husky.
“I’d be right if I did,” he tells you, but he’s far more preoccupied with the button and zip of his trousers. You reach over to help him with it, your hand brushing the hot, hard length of him through the fabric – you always forget just how big he is until you’re confronted once more. Your body gives a low throb of arousal, a reminder that the need inside of you requires sating sooner rather than later.
Nanami is patient. You are not.
There. The zip, the button – and Nanami is pulling off the fabric, leaving it too in a pool by the side of the bed that you know he will probably manage to get into the wash basket before it ever crosses your mind. He’s still wearing socks and sock garters, and whilst normally you’d laugh at him and make him take them off before he got into bed . . .
Well. There are more important things to think about right now, and you can’t deny that the sock garters are endearing.
His cock brushes against your thigh and you start, a soft noise escaping your lips that makes him look down at you tenderly. He tips his head to the side in a silent question and you nod in a silent answer – his fingers push your thighs further apart, sinking into plush flesh, stroking along the slick outer lips of your sex--
His knuckle brushes the swollen bundle of nerves of your clit and you sigh, your hips bucking up for more of the friction. You know that this is just him being kind – a precursor to the main event – but you still can’t help but greedily seek out more and more of him. He clicks his tongue again.
“You’re so impatient sometimes,” he chides, though his cock hard and hot against your skin is just as impatient as you are. He slides one of his fingers inside you, your walls clinging tight to the digit. He pumps it in and out of you, once, twice – and then, a second finger is inside you, stretching you out. One of your hands twists into the sheets as you helplessly let him fuck into you with his fingers. You know that he’s doing it in preparation for fucking you – he often does – but it doesn’t mean that you’re any less impatient for the main event.
“You’re teasing me,” you tell him, breathlessly. He smiles, more to himself than to you.
“I suppose so,” he replies. He’s enjoying it. You know he is – tension is draining from his shoulders the more he looks at you, the fingers still plunging in and out of you growing more lax and liquid in their movements. The sound of him inside you is lasciviously loud in your bedroom. You don’t mind helping him work out his tension – whether with cuddling up to him, or cooking together, or massaging the knots from his back – but you do mind when he teases you--
“Please,” you say, breathlessly, your hips rocking in time with his hand. He can never resist it when you’re polite.
His fingers come out of you with an audible slick noise.
“You’re ready, anyway,” he murmurs. He absent-mindedly places the two fingers that were buried inside you against his tongue, tasting you – your cheeks are hot again at the way he tips his head back, savouring the taste of you. Just another little moment of intimacy. It’s not unusual, but that doesn’t make it feel any less erotic.
He cradles you like you’re something precious as he settles heavy between your thighs. His hands on your hips are certain. There’s a warmth about Nanami that few people are privileged enough to see – one you’re privileged enough to see every night and every morning, when he wakes up next to you sleep-tousled or comes in and leaves a warm package from your favourite bakery in front of you that he picked up on his way home.
You breath through the initial sting as he stretches you out on him, and then there is nothing but the pleasure of being filled. You feel yourself mould to his cock inside you, your walls snugly accepting him, hot and wet around his shaft. Your arms wrap around his shoulders and as he bottoms out inside of you, for a moment you two are joined entirely. You can feel his heart beating against yours.
“I love you,” you breathe, against the shell of his ear. He kisses at your neck in return, his voice very soft as he returns the affirmation of one of his own. He is not one for sappy declarations – he is a man of small acts of service. Still. He speaks it against your skin and it feels like a tattoo on your heart.
“I love you too.”
After that, neither of you speak. Instead, you concentrate on Nanami’s powerful hips as they roll against you, his cock brushing the sensitive spots of your wall, stoking the flame inside of you that’s been steadily burning since the moment he untied his tie. You concentrate on moving your own body in tandem with his, the squeeze of your channel around him, the way that he grinds himself just so against your clit with every thrust so that your body feels fizzing with unreleased promise.
His mouth against your collarbones and neck. Your nails digging into his shoulders. He’s well-built despite seeming nondescript in his suit and tie – you’re heart-achingly familiar with the taut muscle making up his arms and backs. The places he’s scarred, even after being healed up.
You can hear him breathing heavier and heavier against your ear as his peak nears. Your own is rushing up on you, as Nanami’s hips begin to rock quicker and quicker, his cock plunging impossibly deep into you with every drive. You think, for a wild moment, he’s going to come first, despite the fact he’s always been nothing but the gentleman in control of himself no matter how many times the two of you become one--
And then, the hot ball of fire in the pit of your stomach becomes overwhelming and bursts into pieces, wet heat soaking you, waves of pleasure lapping at you as your body shakes and constricts around him. Everything is so hot. His body above yours is burning, warm, needful--
Your nails have dug into his skin hard enough to leave crescent shaped marks, but Nanami is chasing his own release now, his eyes clouded with lust as he looks down at you. Aftershocks of your own orgasm make your channel pulsate around him--
You’re tender as you pull him down by the neck and kiss him, teeth worrying at his bottom lip – and he groans into your mouth at the same time as you feel his cock inside you twitch, and the heat of his come fill you. That’s not a problem. You’ve talked about that plenty of times – both of you agree that you’re happy the way you are. Children are dangerous.
. . . But it’s nice to feel claimed by him. Nice to have him rest hot and heavy inside you, like a marker of his affection even as he’s pulling out of you and leaving you full and heavy and sticky. He smooths kisses onto your brow. He doesn’t murmur sweet words against you, but you know he’s thinking them if only from the way he holds you and the way that his hands dance over your skin like you’re the most precious thing in the world to him.
(You are; and he is to you, though neither of you say it aloud. In the sanctity of the quiet bedroom, though, both of you know it as an absolute fact.)
He’s breathing heavy as he sits on the edge of the bed again, reaching down to undo his sock garters and remove the socks themselves. The tell-tale rustle of clothing and slam of the drawers on his side of the bed tell you he’s neatly folding the dirtied garments and getting out something to wear in bed himself.
“Are you tired now?” You ask him. Nanami turns his head to look at you, and you can see the tell-tale sign of shadows under his eyes.
“Yes,” he says. You laugh, and the sound seems like pealing bells to him. You wrap an arm about his waist and pull him against the bedsheets, curling a leg over his, wrapping yourself around him in an embrace that he at first resists before leaning into.
“It’s easier if you don’t get dressed.” You mumble against his neck, as you nestle yourself into the crook of his shoulders. Nanami uses one arm to pull up the bed covers he stripped from you earlier. “More . . .” You stifle your own yawn. “More efficient, if we decide to waste time in the morning.”
The covers wrap around both of you, the wrinkled clothes forgotten (Nanami will tut at himself in the morning, but for now, he’s enjoying your body so close to his).
“Time with you,” he says softly, “is never wasted time.”

The Strings that Bind Us: Ch. 3
AO3
Prev
Marinette is nervous. It’s worse than any other nerves she’s ever felt. Today was the day she was going to meet Bruce’s sons. They’d been dating for almost two months and even though she’d met Alfred (and often called him to talk and trade recipes), she had yet to meet Bruce’s sons. Mostly because she didn’t want to interrupt their lives. She didn’t want to walk in and meet them and then be gone. Neither of them deserved that. So, she had waited. And now the day was here and she was panicking. She glances around the small grocery store, determined to get the ingredients to make dessert for dinner tonight. Bruce had told her that Dick had an insane sweet tooth, and she didn’t want to bribe the kid, but she really did want him to like her. Bruce had already warned her that Jason was a little less welcoming, but she had hope that the cookies would work on him as well. Grabbing a bag of chocolate chips, she heads over to the frozen section to pick up a few staples.
“I don’t understand why we have to hang out today. I thought you hated us.” A voice says, and she frowns.
“I don’t hate you. And I just wanna warn you, make sure you know that just because she’s here today doesn’t mean she’ll be here tomorrow.” A second voice says. Shaking her head, she moves past, trying hard not to listen to the boys’ conversation as they walk away. It wasn’t her business, after all. She grabs a couple bags of frozen veggies before heading up to the checkout and paying. She leaves the store, taking note of her surroundings as she walks. She looks both ways before crossing the street and heading into the bank. She needed to send some money back home to her parents for the anniversary since she couldn’t be with them in person this year. She’s just about to get to the teller when a loud bang echoes throughout the bank. She whirls around and eyes widen at the man who just entered the building. His suit was interesting, half of it was a solid gray color and the other half was bright and patterned. But that wasn’t what shocked her. What shocked her was the way half his face was completely red and scarred. Well that, and the ten men with guns that walked in behind him. Her eyes dart around the room, searching for anything that may be helpful, when her eyes land on two boys. Both tense as they look at the man, but instead of fear (like everyone else had on their face) the two looked determined.
“Ah, how nice to see the two of you here.” The man says, walking up to the two boys and grabbing the younger one’s wrist tightly. Marinette’s eyes narrow as the boy winces slightly.
“Let him go.” She snaps, storming over and glaring at the man, trying hard to ignore the way the guns were now trained on her.
“Oh and what, you volunteer instead?” He asks, and she scoffs.
“I never said that, now let him go.” She demands, giving the man her worst Ladybug glare. His eyes narrow, but he lets go of the boy and she shifts so that she’s between the two. “Now, why don’t we talk about this like grown ups.” She suggests, crossing her arms.
“Do you know who I am?” The man practically growls. She raises an eyebrow.
“Non. I haven’t been in Gotham for long.” She admits, trying (and failing) to come up with this man’s name. He was obviously one of Gotham’s villains, if the reaction of everyone else was anything to go by. And the fact that he came with goons instead of by himself made her believe he wasn’t your everyday bank robber.
“Tell you what. Since you decided to take the kid’s place, we’ll let the coin decide your fate. Unmarked side, I let you go and you can go on with your day. I’ll even leave the bank.” The man starts, and her stomach drops. Two Face. That was his name. And he was leaving her fate up to chance. To luck. “Scarred side, I shoot you in the head. Or, if you don’t wanna play, we can let the kid play. Whaddya say?” He asks with a grin. She grits her teeth and hopes that her years with Tikki had left her with enough residual luck to make it through this encounter.
“Go ahead. Let the coin decide.” She says, whirling around and hushing the boys behind her who are objecting suddenly. “Not now.” She hisses, terrified that if they object he’ll move along to them next. She turns back to Two Face and nods, watching as he tosses the coin in the air and catches it. Her heart beats out of her chest as she watches him reveal...the unmarked side.
“Looks like lady luck was on your side today.” He says, and his smile almost appears genuine, which makes her stomach churn. “Pack it up boys, we made a deal.” He says, and all of his goons turn to leave with him. They make it all the way out the door before she hears the sirens pulling up. She frowns. The police here were not great at showing up on time, were they? Her eyes widen when she sees Batman drop down, joining the fight. That’s definitely unusual. Turning away from the chaos outside, she turns to the two boys.
“Are you two okay?” She asks, scanning their faces.
“That was really stupid.” The younger one says, a scowl on his face. She ignores him, instead looking at his already bruising wrist.
“May I?” She asks, holding out a hand. He frowns.
“Let her look, Jason.” The older one says, sighing. She smiles at him in thanks before holding the younger boy’s wrist gently. She pokes softly and turns it, trying to make sure there isn’t a break. She glances at the boy’s face to gauge his reactions.
“I don’t think it’s broken, but you should definitely ice it when you get home.” She says softly. The boy just snorts and rolls his eyes, taking his arm back and frowning at her.
“Why’d you do that?” He asks, and her heart aches at how he looks at her. As if he’s suspicious of her. As if someone helping him has to have an ulterior motive.
“Because I don’t appreciate people picking on children.” Marinette says simply. The boy starts to answer, but is cut off by a gruff voice.
“Ma’am, other witnesses are saying you were targeted by Two Face?” She turns and is unsurprised to see Batman.
“Ah, not quite, sir. He actually went straight for these two. I simply diverted his attention somewhere else.” She says.
“Why?” He asks and she blinks in surprise.
“Um, because they’re children? And they’re innocent. I don’t see that there needs to be any more reason than that.” She says. Batman nods.
“The police want your statement. I’ll take the boys’ statements.” He says and she nods, but hesitates to walk away from them.
“Do you boys have someone who can come pick you up?” She asks, not willing to let them walk home alone after something like that. The oldest nods.
“Yeah, we’re fine. Thank you.” He says with a small smile. She sighs and returns the smile, turning to go talk to the police. If she could get through that situation, surely she could survive meeting Bruce’s sons.
---
Marinette squeals as Bruce lifts her and spins her around, before setting her down and kissing her gently.
“What was that for?” She asks, smiling up at him through her lashes.
“Being you.” He says simply. She snorts and whacks his chest gently, rolling her eyes.
“You’re such a goof.” She teases, turning and immediately heading towards the kitchen.
“Where are you going?” He asks, slipping his hand into hers.
“To say hi to Alfred and set down the cookies.” She says, swinging their hands as she drags him to the kitchen.
“Good evening, Miss Marinette.” Alfred says, a soft smile on his face.
“Evening, Alfred. I brought some cookies for dessert. I hope that’s okay.” She says, letting go of Bruce’s hand to give Alfred a quick hug. The two had grown close in the little time they’d known each other, and Marinette could honestly say that she adored the older man’s company. He was funny, and she often got to hear embarrassing stories about Bruce (not that she’d ever tell him that).
“Mari, just a warning, the boys might be a bit...distant tonight.” Bruce says suddenly, stopping the conversation that she and Alfred were having about his latest attempt at macarons. She frowns.
“Are they okay? Should I leave? We could reschedule, I don’t want to-” She starts to ramble, concerned for the boys. She may not have met them yet, but she’d heard enough stories from Bruce.
“They’re fine, please, stay.” Bruce says, grabbing her hands and turning her so that she faces him. He cups her cheek gently, smiling down at her. “They’re fine, love, I promise.” He says. She lets out a breath she didn’t know she was holding before nodding.
“Did something happen?” She asks. He sighs and lets go of her face, running a hand over his own.
“They were caught up in a Rogue attack downtown.” He says quietly and she gasps.
“Bruce Thomas Wayne!” She scolds, frowning at him. “They were involved in a villain attack and you expect us to just, meet? I doubt either one of them wants to go through the trouble of meeting some completely random person after going through something like that. Mon Dieu Bruce, they may say they’re fine but that has to be emotionally draining.” She says, shaking her head. She pushes the loose strands of hair out of her face, sighing.
“Mari-” He starts, but she shakes her head.
“Bruce, honey, I don’t want to intrude.” She says, standing on her toes to give him a quick kiss. “We can meet on a day when they haven’t been through something traumatic.”
“Well shit. Looks like we’ve already met you little girlfriend B.” A familiar voice says. She whirls around and her eyes widen at the sight of the two boys from the bank standing in the doorway to the kitchen. She glances at Bruce and raises an eyebrow at his tired expression.
“Jason, what have I said about your language?” He asks tiredly. Jason shrugs.
“To not say things like that.” He says, making both Bruce, and the boy that Marinette assumes is Dick, sigh.
“I can still leave.” Marinette offers the boys, ignoring the frown on Bruce’s face.
“To be fair, you went through something traumatic too. Might as well stick around and deal with the trauma together.” Jason snarks. She smiles, though it’s a little forced as she remembers she had almost watched one of Bruce’s sons be shot today. If she hadn’t stepped in….
“It’s nice to meet you in a, er, calmer environment.” She says with a small wave, resisting the urge to lean into Bruce for support. “I’m Marinette Dupain Cheng, but you can call me Marinette. Or Mari, if you want.”
“I’m Richard, but everyone calls me Dick.” Dick greets with a small nod in greeting.
“And I’m Jason, but you knew that.” Jason says, crossing his arms. Marinette just smiles, but this time it isn’t forced. This was going to be interesting.
---
“So, Jason, Bruce tells me that you enjoy reading. Do you have a favorite author?” Marinette asks, trying to keep the conversation going. Both boys were still hesitant, and she wasn’t sure if it was her or the incident from the bank. She hoped it was the latter.
“Not really.” Jason says, hesitating before adding, “I like classics though.” Marinette grins.
“Really? I could never get into them when I was your age, couldn’t sit still long enough.” She says with a laugh. “But in the last couple of years I’ve found myself really enjoying Hugo and Dumas. Oh! And the Brontë sisters.” She adds, eyes lighting up as Jason grins.
“Have you read Hunchback of Notre Dame?” He asks and she laughs.
“They may have thrown me out of Paris if I hadn’t.” She teases. She feels herself relax as she talks to Jason about books, grinning at the boy’s enthusiasm and genuine love for literature. It reminded her of how much she loved designing before she got so caught up in Hawkmoth. She feels someone hold her hand, and she sneaks a glance at Bruce, smiling softly at him and squeezing his hand before turning her attention back to Jason. The rest of dinner flies by, with the conversation mostly being led by her and Jason. Dick is much less talkative. Which contradicts many of the stories Bruce had told about him. Though, many of those stories were from when he was younger. Once it’s time for dessert, Marinette stands to help Alfred clear the dinner plates.
“Miss Marinette, I can bring in the dessert just fine.” Alfred scolds, gesturing for her to sit down. She just grins.
“I know, Alfred, but you already made a lovely dinner. Let me help.” She says, grabbing some of the plates and following him into the kitchen. Once the kitchen door swings shut, she starts clearing the plates and glances at him nervously. “Do you think the boys like me?” She asks, worried.
“I believe young Master Jason does. And although he may not act like it, I do believe Master Dick does as well. He just needs time to be able to show it.” He says, and Marinette feels the tension in her shoulders seep out. She nods, glancing back towards the dining room.
“I really like him, Alfred.” She says quietly, afraid that Bruce or one of the boys would hear her. “I don’t wanna mess this up.” She admits.
“If I may be frank, Miss, Master Bruce has smiled more in the past two months than I’ve seen in years.” Alfred says, and Marinette blushes. She feels her chest warm and she sighs happily.
“I don’t think I’ve smiled this much in years either.” She admits, smiling softly at Alfred before grabbing the cookies and taking them out to the dining room. This was the happiest she’d been since Hawkmoth first started his reign of terror all those years ago, and she was willing to do anything to keep her little slice of heaven.

The End of the Week
__
Cedric Diggory x Fem! Reader
Warnings: Language. Slight sexual implications.
Word Count: 1,856
A/N: Requests are still being written! I’ve just had this idea foreverrrrr. I gotta show my golden boy some love. I don’t even know what to name this.
“Hey! It’s just hot in here.”
__
Cedric was as perfectly content as he could possibly be in this moment. He couldn’t even begin to imagine something better than where he was right now. You were curled up next to him, and the way your head was nuzzled into his neck was spreading extra warmth all over his body with each gentle exhale through your nose onto his skin. The Hufflepuff common room was as still and quiet as could be, considering that everyone else had gone to bed for the evening.
It had been a hectic week for the both of you. Your schedules had been overcrowded with long Quidditch practices and impossibly difficult exams all while trying to throw in some social time into the balance. You hadn’t seen much of each other that week, only sharing loving glances when you passed in the halls or stealing quick kisses and small conversations between classes.
The end of the second term was just around the corner, which meant that your workloads would only increase until it was time to leave for summer break. Cedric had made it a priority to spend every free moment that he had with you. He was hoping for you to spend summer vacation with him and his family, but in case his plans fell through, he wanted to be sure to see you as much as possible.
Friday night had presented a break in the week’s chaos, both of you jumping on the opportunity like a hungry cat on a frightened mouse. Cedric basically snatched you out of your last class of the day when his Quidditch practice was canceled, which opened up his entire evening. The two of you were practically running hand in hand as your feet involuntarily made their way to his prefect room, the serenity and silence of it was calling your names.
Cedric had tossed you onto his bed, attacking you with sweet kisses and doing everything he could to draw laughter out of you. Not being able to be with you or touch you over the course of his stressful week had been killing him. You were his comfort, his single source of solace when life became too much for him. He always felt a little piece of himself missing when he strayed from you for too long.
Cedric had shown no mercy when your waist was between his knees as he tickled and teased at your sides and wherever else he knew you were ticklish. The sound of your happy giggles were music to his ears, which is how he could never bring himself to stop until your lungs were gasping for air and you were desperate with your pleas.
“Ced, stop!” You shrieked through strained laughs.
Cedric’s smile never left his face as he withdrew his hands, chuckling lightly as you wiped the tears of laughter from the corners of your eyes.
“I’m sorry, sweet girl. I’ve just missed you.” He admitted, lowering his head and kissing you again once you had caught your breath.
You smirked under his soft lips, bringing a hand to cup his cheek. His heart fluttered at the feeling of your thumb stroking his slightly flushed skin and the way you pushed him onto his back to deepen your kissing.
“I’ve missed you too. I hate this time of year.” You remarked, resting your chin on his chest.
Cedric’s hand was resting on the back of your thigh, his fingertips fiddling with the hem of your skirt.
“Oh, come on. You love springtime.” Cedric corrected.
“Yeah, I love seasonal allergies that kick my ass every year,” You grumbled sarcastically; “I mean because we hardly see one another this time of year.”
A knowing sigh fell from Cedric’s mouth, allowing his hand beginning to run lazily across the exposed skin on your leg.
“I know. But we have summer to look forward to,” He mewled; “You know it gets so hot at home that you have to strip down to next to nothing...” Cedric purred.
With a shocked gasp, your arm swung out to playfully smack his shoulder at what he was insinuating.
“Cedric Diggory!”
He laughed with his usual hearty, light voice, gripping you under your arms and pulling you up next to him from where he was lounged up on his pillows.
“What? I can’t think about my pretty girlfriend wearing nothing but her knickers?” He teased, kissing softly on your neck.
“Not if we’re going to be staying with your family. You have to keep your hands to yourself when they’re around.” You instructed.
Instinctively, your hand came to the back of his head and your fingers buried in his fluffy hair to direct him to your more sensitive areas on your neck. Cedric hummed happily, securing that you were flush with his body and entwining one of your legs between his.
“Quick nap before dinner?” Cedric suggested, noting that dinner was in an hour and a half.
You perked up at that, eagerly snuggling up to him ever further and draping the covers over the two of you. You and Cedric were exhausted. You could feel the tiredness creeping its way into your bones, and even Cedric’s muscles were much more tense than usual. A small power nap was definitely in order.
“Yes, please.”
Cedric wrapped his arms around you, his warmth cascading over you in a heavenly way. You were out like a light, your eyelashes fluttering every few minutes or so. Inky darkness had begun to paint the sky over Hogwarts, making the half-moon much more visible as stars began appearing alongside it. Cedric had to wrestle you out of bed, fighting your begs for five more minutes under his warm sheets, because he knew good and well you’d stay curled up for the rest of the night if he didn’t get you up now.
Once you were dragged away from your slumber sanctuary, he persuaded you to follow him to The Great Hall for dinner, walking with your fingers interlaced and whispering sweet nothings to one another.
You and Cedric had very well become the power couple of your year. If Cedric was around, then you likely weren’t far away. Adolescence wasn’t an easy stage of life for anybody. Cedric considered himself lucky every single day that he had someone to take the journey with him. You and Cedric had blossomed into incredible young adults together, braving the wizarding world with the other in tow.
Cedric’s future revolved around you, and there wasn’t a single aspect of his life that he hadn’t made sure you were a part of. He had decided long ago that he wanted to marry you soon after graduation. Later down the line, he wanted to have little Diggory kids running around with your eyes and his hair. His life was yours, and yours was his.
You had protested going to dinner because staying cuddled up with Cedric sounded much better than choking down chicken for the fifth time in a week. But Cedric told you that he wanted you to get some food in your belly before any more shenanigans, so denying you kisses until you had eaten supper was the only way to put his foot down.
He swept you away once you had both eaten, carrying you off into the Hufflepuff common room. Cedric usually would hang around the common room after dinner to make sure that no one was out after curfew, or until he was too tired to care anymore. Cedric never put too much energy into keeping an eye on mischievous Hufflepuffs, considering there weren’t many anyways and they were always far sneakier than Cedric could keep up with.
Hufflepuffs of all ages straggled in and up the separated staircases to their dorm rooms, some of them sauntering past you and Cedric and some stopping to rant about their stressful week. Turns out that you weren’t the only ones who had been through the wringer.
It was late now, you and Cedric being the only ones still up and energized from your nap a few hours ago. Cedric was soaking up every second of this moment, not wanting to forget this feeling in his heart. If he could end every day like this then he’d be the happiest man on Earth.
“It’s a Hogsmeade weekend,” You announced, carefully breaking the silence; “You want to go tomorrow and I’ll buy you a Butterbeer?”
Cedric snorted and looked down at your huddled frame, amusement clear on his face.
“Since when have I ever let you buy me anything? As long as I’m breathing, I pay for meals.” He proclaimed.
“It’s a Butterbeer. I’d hardly consider it a meal,” You said; “I just want to spoil you like you do me.”
The bubbly laughter that came from the Hufflepuff boy’s chest sent a flash of care through your cells, your heartbeat speeding up at the sound of his joy.
“Oh, but I love spoiling you. I have to take care of my favorite girl.” He confessed.
A hot rush went straight to your cheeks, a shy smile appearing on your face that Cedric couldn’t possibly miss. His lips left a small kiss on your cupid’s bow, his voice lowering in the sweetest way.
“After all these years I still know how to make you blush.” He noted with a grin.
“You are very charming, Ced,” You complimented, fidgeting with the collar of his sweater; “And handsome.”
Now it was his turn to blush, his cheeks flooding red with a bashful smile. He caught your look of entertainment, and he was quick to defend himself.
“Hey! It’s just hot in here.” He half-lied, motioning towards the crackling fire in the fireplace just a few feet in front of you.
“Is it now?” You laughed, crawling over and placing a knee on each side of him. Your hands rested on his shoulders, a shudder going down your spine at the feeling of his grip on your hips. Your lips just barely brushed over his, a new mood taking over the room; “It is getting rather warm in here...”
Cedric let out a groan of temptation when you kissed him and rolled your pelvis into his, creating the most delicious friction. It didn’t take long for Cedric to dominate over you, pushing you into the cushions of the sofa and pinning you underneath him. His lips were hot wherever they sucked or left kisses, his aura and familiar feel was your favorite thing ever.
“I’ve always wanted to make love to you here.” He mumbled, removing his belt from his pants before pushing your skirt up past your hips.
His hair fell onto his forehead in soft tufts when he lowered himself again to look down at the girl he had fallen so in love with. The only person he’d ever truly love with every ounce of his being.
“I love you.” He murmured passionately as he always did.
“I love you, Ced.” You returned.
His kisses and touches resumed, arousal growing and hearts beating with one another’s. It was a perfect moment.
And an even better way to make up for lost time.

You should’ve seen it coming. Damn it, it was right in front of you all along, so why didn’t you see it in the first place?
You and your students have been grinding nonstop for the past couple weeks to prep them for the AP English IV exam. There was a time where you requested two days off from work for emergency purposes (thankfully it was nothing too major) leaving you to ask your coworker- Mark, another teacher in your department -to help fill in your students on materials needed for the exam.
Everything was perfectly fine when you came back, your coworker going beyond your expectations in taking care of your students. However, one thing you failed to take notice of is the recent changes the college board made in their AP exams, including the course you teach. After reviewing some of the revisions they made, you felt your heart drop.
They’ve added three additional sections to the exam, meaning an additional two weeks is needed to cover the materials for your students to grasp some sort of mastery on those concepts.
You have four weeks left until the exam, and you’re already compacted those remaining weeks with other necessary materials for the exam.
“Fucking hell,” you murmured under your breath.
Running your hand through your hair, you let out a tired sigh. It’s already bad enough that you have to work overtime in making revisions to your lesson plans. However, it’s worse to see the crestfallen looks on your students’ faces when you dropped the news on them. They’re already tired enough from dealing with other classes and extracurricular activities. On top of that, you know most of them are stressing about their acceptance letters from their colleges.
You dropped the pen in your hand and rubbed both of your eyelids. Relax, y/n you told yourself. Don’t worry, you can do this. You heard the door behind you open, meaning someone walked inside the teacher’s lounge.
“Hey, y/n. What’s up- Woah, woah, WOAH! What do we have here?” the person exclaimed. You let out a chortle. You could distinctively point that voice out from anywhere, and you’re sure as hell that the state of your workspace is nothing short of hell. Taking your hands away from your face, you crossed your arms and leaned back a little in your seat to look up at the latter.
“Well, hello to you too, Mark,” you chuckled. You both gave each a fist bump before he sits down in the empty chair beside you.
“What the hell happened here?” He grabs some of the documents splayed out before you, eyes scanning through the materials that you’ve scribbled on in the past hour. “Wait, what? They added new things to the AP exam?”
You sighed and nodded dejectedly. “Yep. And somehow, I gotta squeeze all those materials into my lesson plans before they take it next month.” You rested your arms on the table and rested your head on top of them. “At this point, I just want to light myself on fire and call it a day.”
Mark lets out a cackle besides you, prompting you to smile. You’ll never mention it to him, but his laughs and smiles are always infectious. It’s what makes him so well-known and loved in the English department in the first place, both faculties and students.
“Please don’t do that. We love you too much to let you do that to yourself,” he responded.
Sitting back up in your seat, you take a glance at the clock. Just four minutes before the section ends and you have to go back to teaching your classes again. You heard your coworker clear his throat, bringing you to face him.
“Do you need help with any of this?” he offered.
You shook your head. “No, it’s fine, Mark. I appreciate the offer but I don’t want to bother you with my workload.”
“No, really. It’s fine, y/n. I only teach honors and they’re all pretty ahead in their assignments, so I have some free time if you’d like.”
Just like that, you swear you could see a halo shining above his figure, your world much brighter and clearer than it was this morning. “Oh my god, yes please.” You shifted through your papers, searching the remnants of the piles before handing it over to him. “Can you please go through these and grade them for me? Here are the answer keys for them.” After debriefing him for that stack of papers, you gave him another one. “And for these, can you make some copies for me? I need them tonight so I can plan for tomorrow’s class.”
He listened attentively to your commands, taking a mental note and nodding each instruction given to him. “Okay, got it, y/n. I’ll get these done and hand them over by the end of the day.”
You’re gawking at him, surprised that your coworker is willing to lend you a helping hand. You could honestly cry out tears of joy right now, but timing refuses to let you do so as the bell rings, marking the end of a period. You both stood up in your seats and grabbed the papers on the table into a neat pile. You let out a content sigh as you both walked out the teacher’s lounge.
“Thank you so much, Mark. You’re the best,” you exhaled. Outside your classroom, you already see some students entering inside as you left it unlocked, free for them or your coworkers to enter as they pleased. You both stood next to its entrance before he shrugs his shoulders at you.
“Hey, I mean it’s what I do best, right? Being the best.”
You rolled your eyes and gave him a playful shove, earning a laugh from him. Saying goodbyes to one another, you walked inside your classroom. You nodded to the students present. “Afternoon, class,” you greeted.
“Good afternoon, Miss y/n!”
“Miss Y/n, there’s a bouquet of flowers on your desk,” one of your students called out. You raised an eyebrow. Flowers? Looking over to your desk, your student was certainly not lying and neither are your eyes. Perched in the middle of your desk lies a vase filled with varying colors of tulips. Petals are in full bloom and the stems are clipped uniformly. You walked over and saw a notecard attached to one of the flowers.
“Who is it from, Miss Y/n?”
“Yeah! Who got you flowers?”
You looked up and realized more of your students are present, capacity almost at its max. Class was starting soon so more and more are rushing in to see the surprise gift settled on your desk.
“Is it Mr. Kim in the science department? I saw you two walking together in the hallways last week.”
That assumption piqued your interest. “Wait, Mr. Kim? The physics teacher?” you asked. The student, Krystal, nodded, causing you to huff incredulously. “Krystal, please. We’re merely just friends.”
Another student chimes in. “Friends don’t lock arms with each other at work.”
“Jongin, please. Your last girlfriend only stayed with you for a month and she started dating an upperclassman a week later.”
“Hey—”
“Guys, calm down,” you interjected. “As much as I love you crazy bunch, I am still your teacher. Therefore, what occurs in my personal life stays private, and how much I am willing to share with you all lies in my discretion.” But unbeknownst to you, one of your students sneaks behind you to get a glance of the card, discreetly reading the contents:
‘The best deserves nothing less than the best.
Yours truly.’
The student, Luna, almost lets out a squeal. “Guys! Guys!” You jumped in shock, startled by her sudden presence and her high-pitched voice. “I think it’s Mr. Lee! The other English teacher!”
All attention is now on her, excitement filled in the air.
“Mr. Lee? The one that teaches honors?”
“The one with boba eyes?”
“The one that laughs at everything?”
Luna nods to each question, visibly thrilled with the subtle jump in her steps as she walked towards her classmates. “Yes! I heard Miss y/n calling him the best earlier and Mr. Lee joked about being the best! And in the card, it said ‘the best deserves nothing less than the best’.” The bell rang, marking the beginning of the period, but that didn’t stop your students from chattering with happiness, faces completely wiped from fatigue and stress of the upcoming exams. Some students entered your classroom late to the discussion, prompting other students to fill them in only to also be electrified by the ‘news’.
You run a hand through your hair again and sighed. Not this again, you thought to yourself. But just before you could jump in to stop all this chaos, you heard someone knock on your open door, diverting your attention and your class’ to the intruder.
“Well, good afternoon, class,” the person chuckled. “Why’s it so boisterous here? Did I miss a party or something?”
Of course, what better person to appear now of all times? It was none other than the infamous history teacher, Johnny Seo. You rolled your eyes before laughing. Coincidence, my ass.
“Mr. Seo! Someone gave Miss Y/n a bouquet of tulips! She has a secret admirer!” Luna stated.
He raised an eyebrow at her direction. “Oh, does she now?” He looks back at you with a grin. “Did Miss Y/n find out who this secret admirer is?”
“We think it’s Mr. Lee from honors English.”
“And what makes you think so?”
“Because we heard her call him the best earlier before class started, and the notecard called her the best.”
“Coincidence? I think not,” Jongin nodded.
All of the students followed along in unison, profoundly proud of their assumptions that left you shaking your head in disbelief. Surely, you had a smile on your face, but it’s surprising to know how your students are able to make such large assumptions based on groundless evidence. You sat down in your chair and turned on your computer, getting your lesson plan ready for the period as your students entertained themselves with Mr. Seo.
Johnny takes it all in, nodding to all of them before walking up behind your desk. “Well, I think it’s safe to say that you don’t pester too much to Miss y/n about it. You know how much she likes to keep her life private.” While you were browsing through your saved files and pulling up powerpoints, you felt the latter tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. “Right, Mrs. Seo?”
And just like that, your hands stilled. Wait, did he just—
“Hold up..”
“What?”
“Did you just—”
“Mrs. Seo?”
“Huh?”
You squeezed your eyelids shut. Oh my god, here we go again—
“YOU GUYS ARE MARRIED??”
