So I can't stop combining my fixations together. I had to mix Eddsworld with Gravity Falls, since this last one revived haha. Sorry not sorry! As I said on Instagram, this is TOTALLY NOT an excuse for making eduarjon/jonuardo... Yeah, yeah totally not... Anyways, look at these guys, Eduardo as stanford, Jon as mcgucket!!

I have to say these are just my own, personal interpretations for the characters. It's totally OK if you don't think the same as me!! I made this for fun, and oh boy It was so fun while making it and deciding which characters could fit in each other's papers.

To my surprise (not really LOL), I searched if anyone made the same in the past, and I found out they thought exactly the same as me! Tom is dipper, Matilda is Mabel, Stanley is Edd and Stanford is Eduardo. Makes sense to me.

And I thought it would be funnier (and better!) if instead of normal Edd, it was Future Edd. Thinking about an old man like Future Edd, who just wants to die but has to maintain a work for 30 years just to re-meet his brother... That makes me laugh, for some reason. XDD Look at his face. Poor guy!

And for Bill, well, guess who is it here? Tord, because I couldn't think about anyone else! And it wouldn't make sense if he had a human design, because you know what kind of interdimensional, two-dimensional triangle without real physical form he is. Mm, maybe I'm wrong and he could actually have a human form. Should I try making a design for Tord Cipher later?

That one looks silly! He's just Bill, technically red, has a weird hat and Tord's typical band-aid at the right. Didn't know how to draw this one haha

That's all for now! I'm thinking about the other characters. For now, in my mind, Laurel is Wendy, but mmmmm I don't agree too much, idk. Diwi could be Soos, and I'd LOVE seeing Bing and Larry as the stupid police xD

And MAAAAAYBE an unpopular opinion and somewhat obvious?, But I'd love mixing Eddsworld and Gravity Falls characters personalities together and other things that make them unique, not just switching them fully. What I try to say is, for example, I imagine Edd having his obsession with cola as always, Eduardo with diet cola as well. Edd could have his lucky can, somewhere, and he's just as pathetic as Stanley, despite he's usually more pessimistic, dark and irritable than him sometimes. Tom still haves that sarcastic, rude? essence, but is fascinated with mistery and you know, the weird things that happens in town! And he still conservates liking ska bands. You know, some ideas like that!

Larry? I want him to be a bass sooo badly but no, he’s either a baritone or just straight tenor. LITERALLY STRAIGHTEST TENOR TO EVER TENOR. Everyone always assumes he’s gay and he gets worked up about it.

Maya is a mezzo-soprano, obvi. I wanted her to be an alto or straight soprano but I don’t really think it fit her. People’s vocal parts literally fit what they look like. She is a mezzo.

Klavier is such a tenor it’s not even funny. He wants to be a baritone/bass sooo badly. But he has like, one of those really strong tenor voices. There’s no way he hasn’t sung Santa Fe.

ATHENA. ATHENA. WHAT IS ATHENA. Brother I really can’t decide. Has the tenacity of an alto but the mostly bubbly personality of a soprano. I’ll stick her as mezzo for now.

Gumshoe is an obvious bass. Lots of basses are himbos and he’s no exception.

As much as I want Kristoph to be a tenor because he thinks he’s so insufferably above everyone else, I have to pick him as a bass. Nobody expects it, they all expect him to be a tenor. He has a beautiful bass voice.

SIMON IS A BASS. FULL BASS. Nothing more to add.

Dahlia is a soprano and Iris is at least a mezzo-soprano or alto. Dahlia’s one of those really bitchy sopranos who never takes a mezzo-soprano part. Iris always bears the brunt of the mezzo-soprano/second work because Dahlia makes her.

who do you think is an underrated panel show guest? like someone who doesn’t appear on them very often but should

ohh fun question... y'know the thing about panel shows these days is they're sooo so so comedian-centric and really a lot of the same people again and again — which i'm not complaining about! i think they're the funniest people in the room and understand the dynamic of a panel show better than anyone else 99% of the time! but when it comes to people i find underrated in the most exciting way it's usually the semi-rare non-comedian who just...gets it. like, back in the day it was people like john barrowman, martin freeman, josh groban, mark ronson, chris o'dowd, christopher biggins, professor green, a couple of the spice girls (they actually run in comedian circles, interestingly)... they just fit into these shows and dynamics so well!

most of the people who have really surprised me in this regard in the last 5 or so years (bc i don't wanna reach back to, like, 2012 for this hahaha) have been on celeb juice or something like graham norton, the last leg, etc. for example, i had no idea will mellor could really hang, take jokes, dish out jokes, and do physical comedy until i saw him on juice. i think that kind of discovery is so fun!

Can I get some good old domestic headcannons with either Larry or Brassius? Idk like their morning routines with their spouse. I bet Brassius’s bead head is hilarious

Yessssss, two of my favs. I had fun thinking about their morning routines. Larry’s mornings are normal (with little sprinkles of odd) and Brassius’ mornings technically aren’t even mornings half the time. I also think Brassius wakes up how moms wake up. You know, with a full body jolt and wide eyes.

Domestic Mornings With Larry & Brassius

Larry

- Mornings with Larry are, ultimately, uneventful. He sticks to his routine like a well-oiled machine, and it’s up to you whether you want to get up with him. While he cherishes the mornings that you spend with him, he recognizes it’s early and won’t begrudge you for sleeping in. He doesn’t use an alarm clock. He wakes up at the same time every day. It’s earlier than you’d expect. The first time he accidentally wakes you up getting out of bed, you look at the time, confused. It’s to make up for his insanely long showers and breakfast at his favorite diner.

- You can get him to stay in bed and cuddle for a little bit if you cook him breakfast. Larry will never pass up a chance to eat something you make. Having you up also helps to get him out of the shower faster. If you don’t want to cook, he’d be ecstatic to buy you breakfast. He enjoys the company. It helps him feel more energized for the workday.

- On the weekends, while he wakes up at the same time, he’ll lay in bed for hours on end waiting for you to wake up. If you talk in your sleep, he’ll respond to you like any other conversation. It’s the only time you can get him to do nothing, and you aren’t even awake for it. As soon as you open your eyes, he’s out of bed. He brings you a cup of coffee and asks if you want to get breakfast somewhere. He already has the menu pulled up on his phone for a place he wants to try and will lay next to you while you scroll through it.

- Fun facts: Larry’s morning breath is really bad. He doesn’t move when he sleeps, and sometimes, he sleeps with his eyes open. He’s scared you a few times. He won’t wake you up when he leaves the house. You’ll text him asking where he is, and he responds, “I went for a walk.” accompanied by a picture of a bird. Brings you back food if he goes out to get some; he has your order memorized.

Brassius

- Mornings with Brassius are interesting because he doesn’t sleep often. When he does, it’s always at ridiculous and erratic times. One night, he’ll go to bed at 8 AM, another Brassius is asleep by 10 PM. On top of that, he might sleep for two hours or twelve. It really depends on the night. To him, morning is the time you wake up, and breakfast is the first meal you eat that day. He can go days without sleeping sometimes. When he eventually rolls into bed, it’s in his clothes, covered in paint and clay.

- Because of this, Brassius doesn’t have a morning routine. On some mornings, when he’s got a particular sculpture he’s working on, he’s out of bed and in his studio in a flash. On other mornings, he’ll sit on the couch wrapped in a blanket with a cup of coffee. You’ve even caught him pacing back and forth and muttering to himself a few times. The one thing that stays the same, is that he always greets you with a kiss on the cheek. Brassius also tends to be a bit grumpy when he first wakes up, so he won’t say much.

- Where you fit into his schedule is up to you. He’s not talkative when he first wakes up, but he always appreciates your company. Sometimes, he’ll wake up mid-afternoon, so, likely, you’re already out of the house by then. Brassius will shoot you a quick text that he’s awake. It’s not really common that you wake up at the same time, but on the off chance that you do, the only difference is Brassius mutters a husky “good morning” and holds you for five minutes before heaving himself out of bed. He times it. If he stays any longer he’ll fall back asleep. Which would probably be good for him you try to tell him. It never works.

- Brassius doesn’t expect you to cook him breakfast. He knows his sleep schedule is abysmal, and he’s rather unpleasant in the mornings. However, if you choose to surprise him, he’ll light up. Breakfast for him is usually a slice of toast at best and a handful of the first thing he can grab at worst. (Nuts usually, but it’s been shredded cheese before) Even something as simple as scrambled eggs will be met with high praise.

- Fun facts: Like Larry, he won’t wake you up if he leaves. However, he will leave you a cute note written with dramatic, swooping calligraphy. His bedhead is bad. Really, really bad. If you laugh at him, he’ll scowl. Total blanket hog. You've woken up to the sound of him falling out of bed before.

thank you so much for this ask!! I have way too much to say about this topic, therefore I apologize in advance for how long this is 🤧

firstly I think it’s important to clarify who the Memphis Mafia actually consisted of: based on what they themselves have said, it was Red West, Sonny West, Alan Fortas, Marty Lacker, Lamar Fike, and Billy Smith

I was confused why people like Jerry Schilling, Charlie Hodge, Joe Esposito, Larry Geller, George Klein, etc. etc. weren’t technically considered Memphis Mafia until I learned that Elvis’ entourage were categorized into two groups, the Memphis Mafia, and the others

I also really recommend for every fan to read Alanna Nash’s “Elvis and the Memphis Mafia” which is just an oral history from Billy Smith, Marty Lacker, and Lamar Fike

and then to watch the documentary, it is 5 hours but it’s so worth it, I’ve literally rewatched it at least 8 times at this point because it’s my favorite Elvis documentary ���!!

I also want to say if you are going to read from one of them, you should try to read from all of them because they all have their own unique experience with Elvis and therefore all have their own viewpoints/opinions and biases *which is why it’s important to cross reference between them

For example in the Alanna Nash book there are several instances where Lamar Fike, Marty Lacker and Billy Smith all have a different opinion on something and you basically have to decide for yourself which one you agree with

I’m just going to be breaking down each Memphis Mafia member, as I’ve been fortunate enough to read each of their books, and say if I think they are trustworthy sources:

Lamar Fike: Personally, I think he is one of Memphis Mafia members that you really have to be cautious about. If y’all didn’t know he was Albert Goldman’s main source for that horrible book, “Elvis”. In Alanna Nash’s book, Lamar Fike spends a good majority of the time disagreeing with everything Goldman wrote, and said that Goldman would twist his words and retell things to fit his own agenda. He said “even though I was one of his main sources, and shared in the royalties, I couldn’t control Albert”. He admitted he did the book for money which is why I lost respect for Lamar because he knew that Albert was saying things that weren’t true and that the book’s main purpose was to make Elvis look bad. I would also be cautious of Lamar because he tends to twist reality just a little bit and over exaggerate things. For example whenever he tells the story of Elvis and Priscilla meeting, he always says that it was he who introduced them “Elvis this is Priscilla, Priscilla this Elvis”. But no one else who was in the room has told it that way, Lamar just inserted himself into the scene (he also once said she was 13 when we obviously know she was 14). So yeah I would really recommend to cross reference everything Lamar says before believing it. He just tells things in a really blunt (and lowkey funny💀) way, which makes it interesting insight, but from what I have also seen he is more than willing to exaggerate things just to be able to tell a “better” story

Marty Lacker: I really really enjoy reading his viewpoint and his book is one of my favorites out of the bunch however I think he too often lets his own biases affect his story telling. This man really really really hated Priscilla 😭 So much so that every time he talked about her it was in a negative light. I’m not saying Priscilla is perfect, she has done many things I don’t agree with, however, none of these men knew what it was like to be in her shoes so I’m just wary of them placing so much blame on her when she was so young, and I find that Marty can be a little unsympathetic in that regard (but again I’m not saying that Priscilla hasn’t done things that deserve criticism). Also Marty Lacker wasn’t around in the late late 70s so I would just be cautious of anything he says about that time because he simply wasn’t there to know. But in general, beside his obvious biases, I would say he is a trustworthy source

Alan Fortas: He was the first Memphis Mafia member to pass away in 1992, we sadly didn’t get to hear too much from him, but I’m very grateful to have his book. Since he wasn’t around much in the late 60s and not at all in the 70s, his best stories come from the 50s and early-mid 60s. He provides a really unique insight especially when it comes to Priscilla and Elvis because he was more or less her chauffeur when she first came to the United States. He also knew Frances Forbes, Gloria Mowell, Heidi Heissen and Arlene Cogan and spends a decent chunk of his book talking about them. I can’t say it is in a way that looks good for Elvis because Alan really disagreed with those relationships, even though he said he knew nothing s*xual was going on, he genuinely couldn’t fathom why Elvis, who could have any woman he wanted, wanted to spend time with teenage girls, including Priscilla. But nothing in his book I found to be untrue and everything he says corresponds with what other has said, plus he has some really great stories about the movie-making times and his beloved chimpanzee, Scatter (I know it was Elvis’ technically but Alan was his real mom lmao) but I overall trust him as well

Red and Sonny West: I’m about to get controversial; I think these are two men, that as Elvis fans, we have been a little too critical of. It’s not fair to completely write off their experiences with Elvis just because of the book they did, which in retrospect, doesn’t say anything different from what the other Memphis Mafia men have said, it was just horribly timed. But I do want to clarify that I don’t support their decision on writing “Elvis: What happened” in 1977 and at the end of the day I will always support Elvis over anybody else. As for their credibility, Red West has one of the most important perspectives imo because he was literally the first Memphis Mafia member. He was with Elvis in highschool, in Germany, during the movies, during the comeback special, during Vegas, during the American tours, he only wasn’t there for the very last year of Elvis’ life. Unlike some of the other men here, he never stopped being with Elvis, except for of course the end. I have read the book he did in 1977 and I have watched tons of his interviews and I’ve personally never come across a story that wasn’t told/referenced by another Memphis Mafia member. I do think he is trustworthy in that sense but I think he has gotten very defensive in the past and is willing to throw Elvis under the bus in order to protect his image. I feel like it is the same thing with Sonny West. These men felt betrayed by Elvis, they got fired, and they both definitely harbored vengeful feelings for a while so you have to take that into account when listening to their stories. For example when they talked about how Elvis hired h00kers in the 1977 book they didn’t mention that they were also cheating on their wives and actually slept with the hired girls while Elvis only wanted to watch the girls simulate lesbian s*x. In that book especially, they often conveniently left out that they indulged in the same kind of behavior Elvis did. But with age, I think they both mellowed out and ultimately realized that they betrayed Elvis also, and they have both said they have regretted the book. The documentary I linked above really helped me understand their perspective more, and while things ended badly between Elvis and them, I do think both parties still cared about each other. So while both of their perspectives are very important (and I think Red was one of Elvis’ truest friends), I wouldn’t fully trust anything they have said until I checked another source to confirm

Billy Smith: He is sadly the only Memphis mafia member still with us and he still makes videos answering questions on the YouTube channels Elvis fans matter and Memphis Mafia kid. I really do enjoy reading Billy’s perspective and he is one of the few people who were with Elvis from the very beginning (childhood) to the very end. But Billy rarely actually went on tour with Elvis and he also wasn’t around for most of the movie time, so his best stories are about his times with Elvis at Graceland imo. They had such a special relationship and I think Billy was the closest thing Elvis had to a brother (y’all have to read about the oath he and Elvis took, it almost made me cry😭). However this man, like anyone, is not without his biases. When reading the Alanna Nash book you can see that Billy’s main purpose is to protect Elvis and the Smith family so much so that I think he denies some things solely because he believes it will make his family look bad. For example when in the book they talked about how Gladys may have had some Jewish blood in her, Billy Smith who is Gladys’ nephew, just shot that down right away. I didn’t think much of it until Billy Smith later on admitted in the book he was slightly prejudiced against black people and jewish people because of how he was raised. But that book was also in the 90s and I haven’t seen him speak in the way since so hopefully he has changed. This man really hated Priscilla, and especially hated Ginger, so take into account these biases as well. For example, in the Nash book, he was dead set on saying that Ginger called the national enquirer after Elvis passed away. Many fans believe this also but there is just no proof to support it. Another reason to be slightly cautious of Billy Smith is that his opinions have changed so much since the Alanna Nash book 😭 Like how I said he hated Priscilla and Ginger, that seems to be no longer the case, at least on his YouTube channel. I was so surprised when he praised them both in the YouTube video “Elvis’ relationship secret”. He even said Ginger was good for Elvis and that she loved him- I was shook because he hated her in the 90s!!! But anyways-I would say he is trustworthy and he was no doubt one of the dearest people to Elvis’ heart but it’s always good to take into account biases, and cross reference everything

To wrap this up- They have all told the good, the bad and the ugly, and as fans of Elvis it can be hard to accept the “bad and ugly”(like was he sometimes completely unreasonable, demanding, and temperamental? yes! but do we still love him? yes!) These guys just have such a unique perspective and we are truly lucky that they have opened up their lives with Elvis to us, even if it is stories that we necessarily don’t want to accept. But there is not a single doubt in my mind that all these men loved Elvis, despite what some of them have done, and that Elvis loved all these men. The documentary I linked above has made me cry every time I have watched it because they all cried in it and something about grown men crying just hits me different okay 😭

The AU contains both the og web series and the new show in a kinda weird mix up. I also brought up the roles in a different post, but I’ll say them again here in a more detailed explanation:

Leslie, Seymour, and Victoria play the main three with red guy being Leslie, Duck being Seymour, and yellow guy being Victoria. I chose these three purely because their color schemes kinda fit and I grew attached to their dynamic really quickly (also accidentally made them a trio of blondes-). This also makes Roy be Mr Best and Lesly is Mrs Best. As for mirror yellow guy, that’s Victor Best.

For Sketchbook, I debated between Eileen and Violet for a bit, but decided to stay on theme with the villains and make it Eileen. She’s got some creativity… in the sense that she comes up with creative ways to make it her birthday.

For Tony (aka the clock), I had absolutely no idea for a while. Then I just randomly made it Ms Question and convinced myself that it made sense. Time makes you question stuff, right?

For Shrignold (aka the butterfly), I once again had no idea who to do. But then the idea of Mr Big as a butterfly cult leader was just to hilarious to avoid. Capitalism is a cult if you think about it.

For Colin (aka the computer) this was an extremely easy choice. It’s Tobey, no questions asked.

For the food gang (the fridge, spinach can, and meat guy) this was also easy. The only appropriate characters were the food villains, Two Brains (Spinach Can), Butcher (meat guy), and Chuck (Fridge/Bread)

For Larry (aka the lamp), the running joke in the DHMIS fandom that the Lamp is drunk instantly reminded me of Timmy Tim-Bo, so here we are.

When we get to the tv series is when things get a little messy because I have no clue who some of these characters will be.

I have no clue who the briefcase and unemployed Brendon will be. My original thought was Invisibill and BLHG, so I might just go with that.

I have no clue who the coffin will be. Maybe the Coach??

The weird family is the Botsfords. Becky is Lily, TJ is Todney, etc.

anyway here’s the characters:

i’m gonna add a cut here so if you don’t feel like reading/watching something to get a feel for these characters, i’ll explain them (also it’s kind of an excuse for me to rant about how this show takes traits from common media and twists them perfectly to still have identifiable character types while having the characters be unique and mix well together in the show)

Kyle will obviously be Penn Zero himself, part-time hero, who’s the main character. I mean, come on, even the main guy has curly read hair! It fits too well. Penn also has some established anger issues, and sometimes has a hard time putting his personal emotions and morals aside for the sake of a mission. He’s snappy, witty, and good hearted but sometimes he can lose sight of the right thing when he gets in his own head.

Stan and Wendy will be Boon and Sashi, Penn’s best friends.

Stan is Boon, part-time wiseman. He’s a stereotypical dumb best friend, but he’s pretty philosophically mature when he needs to be. This is actually the only show I can think of where the “dumb best friend” trope isn’t annoying as shit, cause normally I hate characters like this. But here, Boon never feels like a burden to the episode and him being a little slower never makes him less capable than his friends. No one ever complains about him being too stupid and his best friends never belittle/infantilize him for not being as smart. He’s a great moral booster for the team and it’s clear how much his friends enjoy his company care for him despite him being kinda dumb. I don’t understand how no show since this one has been able to get this trope right.

Wendy is Sashi, part-time sidekick. She’s a total badass, having more fighting and strategic skills than the boys. She’s also the one to keep the mission on target and is willing to do whatever it takes to win the day. However, she’s never the stereotypical “i’m the responsible one so i hate fun” or “i’m a girl who can fight so therefore that’s my only character trait.” Shes aloof, isn’t the best at social ques, highly competitive, and shows her love for her friends by being fiercely loyal and protective of them. Even though she can get annoyed and tired of the random antics her friends cause, she never talks down to them. She also takes her role of sidekick very seriously and even though she’s a much more skilled fighter than Penn, she listens to his instructions and never undermines what he says unless what he tells her to do will lead to them failing. She’s a fiery spirit and can and will kick your ass if she sees fit.

Cartman and Butters are Rippen and Larry, the Stendyle trio’s part time villains.

Cartman is Rippen, part-time villain. Rippen is a very stereotypically evil guy. He doesn’t really have a motive, he just wants to win. Does he ever? No. Is it his fault that he loses most of the time? Also no. He’s a genuinely good villain but it’s often the people he works with or some Deus Ex Machina for the heroes that keeps him from getting to victory. Despite being a good villain, hes also pretty aloof. He’s a hilarious character simply because of how annoyed he is with everything all the time (especially his henchman Larry/Butters). Despite this, he does genuinely care for some things, like his stuffed animals and his co-villain (though he’s hard pressed to admit it). In the show Rippen is an art teacher who hates everything, but in this au Cartman is just gonna be another student who loves to mess with Kyle.

Butters is Larry, part-time minion. He works under Cartman and honestly sucks balls at being a villain. He’s silly, doesn’t really know how to take a situation seriously, gullible, easily distracted, and very kindhearted. However, he is incredibly loyal to Cartman and will do whatever he says without hesistation, he’ll just usually do it wrong or twist it so it’s a nice thing to do. Most of the time Butters is just there to stand by Cartman and do his own thing. It’s also a running gag in the show that Larry will just ramble on and on about literally anything and it drives characters actually insane, and Rippen will sometimes use that as a weapon, which is a very Cartman thing to do. In the show Larry is principle of the school Stendyle attends, but like with Cartman, i’m just gonna make Butters another student. However, in the show, Larry is also rich as fuck, which is really funny so i’m keeping that. Like, it’s rarely brought up, but there are some episodes that take place in his mansion and it’s great. (“Cartman, you know what i’d do if i had a million dollars?” “Butters, you do have a million dolla-“ “I’d buy everyone in the world a portrait! I did that once in my neighborhood. my neighbor said ‘you shouldn’t have!’ and I said ‘no worries Mark it’s my pleasure happy birthday!’ and he said ‘it’s not my birthday and my name’s Tyler’…” <- actual character interaction from the show almost word for word, tell me that doesn’t sound Cartman and Butters coded)

Hey! Recently stumbled upon your stuff after one of my friends shared it with me and it's super cool!

I've never been terribly into Archie but seeing someone try to make sense of the lore is always fun. I'm wondering though, if the IDW characters and plotlines were introduced in Archie first and Archie just kept going, how would you incorporate them into Archie's world?

Would Tangle become a leading member of the Freedom Fighters? Would Whisper join the Secret Freedom Fighters? How would the Metal Virus play out in Archie's world? That kinda stuff! Would love to see your perspective of how it could be done

oh man um. i wrote a lot for this one LMAO SORRY

i think one big takeaway i have is that incorporating the idw plotlines and characters into post-reboot archie sonic probably wouldn’t be super difficult, especially considering some of the idw plotlines were ideas the archie writers had before the series was cancelled. the metal virus saga is the most notable of these ideas, and would probably play out in a similar way to how it did in idw if it were put in post-reboot archie (just with more characters available). there could be minor differences to the idw plots like how the freedom fighters interact with the idw cast, how silver and gold’s future shenanigans affect everything, breezie the hedgehog hosting the chao race arc, some small stuff like that.

i think the main post-reboot/idw character dynamic i would me most excited to see is between eclipse and surge (and by extension kit). they have commonality in being cruel reflections of other characters, but i doubt they would bond over it. eclipse is hellbent on destroying shadow to get revenge for his lost alien race - his destructive purpose is for reasons and people beyond him, not just for himself. surge and kit’s destruction is personal and internal, driven by grudges they were never in control of. surge wants sonic dead because she’s convinced he ruined HER life, not anyone else’s. i think eclipse would find them selfish, and surge would think eclipse is a moron. they could be at odds, which would be CRAZY ironic given their mirrors (sonic and shadow) are also usually at odds. ugh the irony of it all

however, the big challenge here is figuring out how the idw story and cast could fit into pre-reboot archie. if i tried to fit all of idw into pre-reboot i might go crazy, so i’ll just go over some concepts that interest me the most. pre-reboot ideas are below the cut because i have a lot to say <3

1. whisper is an ex-secret freedom fighter

this one feels obvious (especially since you suggested it lol), it would make sense for whisper to be a secret freedom fighter since that’s literally what she does in idw. however, i think whisper would actually stay AWAY from the freedom fighters because she lost everyone on her old team. this is an important part of her character in idw, and it would still be important here.

i think this could fit into archie if there were multiple secret freedom fighters (similar to how there are multiple freedom fighter groups, like the downunda freedom fighters). it could be interesting if whisper was a part of an older secret FF group in another location, but left the freedom fighters after everyone on it was killed. and it would be REALLY interesting if whisper’s group was ALSO formed by harvey who, and she fears the same fate might fall onto the new secret freedom fighters. idk that might be a bit of a stretch, but it could be interesting

i would want to keep the tangle and whisper dynamic, so i think both of them would reject the secret freedom fighters if they were invited and do work on their own or with jewel. it would be hilarious to see tangle talk to larry lynx tho

2. the metal virus is not robotnik's creation

the metal virus saga would be very strange to fit into pre-reboot archie because… it kinda already happened? the very long war between the mobians and robotnik was initiated by the roboticizer. archie robotnik has created touch-based roboticization before, and even brought back the roboticizer for operation clean sweep (which roboticized sally right before the reboot). so why go back to it again?

i think there are reasons to be found for robotnik returning to the roboticizer plot (especially since the metal virus is very unique in how it works). however, i think the metal virus saga could have an interesting archie take if someone other than robotnik created the virus. like what if it was created by the dark legion? maybe they wanted to come up with a way to create more robotic enhancements, but then somehow it got out of hand and broke containment. it would still be robotnik's problem since the dark legion works under him, but he would see it as an issue much faster than he would in the idw version.

or maybe it was created by doctor finitevus in a plot to take out the dark legion in the most ironic way possible? i dunno finitevus's motives are mostly just "i like being evil" so maaaybe it could work?

regardless of who created it, i think it would follow a similar format to idw where the severity of the situation would cause the entire cast to unite - ESPECIALLY if the virus reached across the multiverse. let's get zonic in here babey i miss him

3. SCOURGE AND SURGE BABEY!

this would be wild given that surge is kinda the spiritual successor to scourge. i think surge and kit should still be from mobius prime and created by dr starline (i could MAYBE argue that dr finitevus could make them, but i honestly don't know why he would). once surge and kit are on their own, it could be interesting to see them join the destructix - and then it would be great to watch them completely tear it apart.

surge and scourge Would Not Get Along. they're both green and hate sonic, but why the hell does sonic get TWO green reflections? which one is the BETTER reflection? which one is gonna be the one to finally end that little blue freak's miserable life? you can get a reflection from a mirror, but if you place two mirrors in front of each other you'll only get existential dread and a desire to beat the shit out of the other mirror.

4. idw shadow accidentally destroys the mobius 30 years later timeline (OOPS!!)

ok this one’s personal becuase the 25/30 year later future (aka light mobius) is something i Do Not Like, even after ian flynn took it over. it is a bad ending for the cast. even so, i really want the prime versions of these characters to see this fucked up future - especially shadow. and it would REALLY suck for shadow to see the light mobius future after all of his fuck-ups in the idw plot (failing to beat neo metal sonic, falling victim to the metal virus, you get the idea). time travel is an easy thing to work around writing wise, maybe my boy zonic could help them get there.

but yeah, main reason i want this is to send prime shadow through a moral crisis. a future with statues of a false deity maria and a tyrannical version of him hellbent on destroying everything would terrify prime shadow - but it wouldn't surprise him. he knows very well what previous versions of him were capable of. and given that idw shadow has some plot beats and character moments that are Not Very Good, i think it would be interesting for that version of him to get a wake up call from the horror of this awful future.

i would definitely want shadow to see light mobius, but i think it would be good to have prime sonic and possibly amy join him (sonic because he would also be horrified by light mobius, and amy because she's NOT EVEN IN THE 25/30 YEARS LATER TIMELINE??? where did she go???? did she fucking DIE??? sorry i hate light mobius lol)

this is something i've thought about even before getting this ask because i love making shadow sad. i'd love to make a comic about it some day but it's definitely too large of an idea for me to do within reason lol

there are some smaller places where i think the extensive lore of archie would benefit the idw characters, like if dr starline was from downunda and worked as one of eggman's dozen. but otherwise that's about all i have! i am so sorry i did not expect to write this much but i kept getting ideas.

do you think that harry’s olivia tattoo is real? and if it is than it is crazy to think that he would get a tattoo for a stunt (and holivia was the least believable stunt out of all of his “relationships”) - it’s just so crazy!!!

i may have mentioned it before i think, but the Olivia tattoo threw a lot of larries (myself included for a second) and made a fair few leave the fandom/stop believe in larry. It was a far more obvious tattoo (that would disappear and reappear lol) than the ‘e’ on louis’ hand which was supposedly for Eleanor, so it really riled us all up. Ive mentioned in the past about tattoos and what meanings they have and how it’s different for everyone, but I mean… to quote Harry, when talking about the song Olivia off MITAM, “is Olivia even a person? Is Olivia an emotion? Is she a place? We don’t know!”

And that song, Olivia, was talked about heaps by larries because it’s a way to say “i love ya” without actually saying it. It’s a very cute and lovely play on words, so yeah. There was speculation he got it because of that song and it’s Larry ties, and it fit the narrative pretty naturally. My argument is that of all tattoos Harry has gotten that match Louis’, as far as we know, there’s never been louis’ actual name on him. Matching and beautiful, all of them, but i just really don’t think he’d be that stupid to get a huge tattoo of a “girlfriend”’s name on him. It’s a stupid thing to do of anyone, and if we believe Harry is truly the womaniser he is and fucks everything that moves, and is chaotic in his relationships, I don’t think he truly would’ve done it. And you’re correct, Holivia was the messiest and most unbelievable stunt we’ve ever gotten, and if they were actually together and had a relationship like that, I doubt a tattoo of her name was in Harry’s mind.

So, in my opinion, it’s absolutely not for her. Also the ‘Colazione’ (Italian for breakfast) tattoo directly underneath it, is interesting too. Italy has always been a big thing for HL, and… idk. Getting those two tattoos in the same font next to each other was kinda weird, so I’m sure it has some deeper meaning.

Few days ago you wrote how much progress he´s made from his 1st tour to now, how he gained confidence like he´s not ashamed of dancing, mocking fans, act flamboyant and just be a total showman. So why not help your partner to be more relaxed and yourself on stage when you made a progress yourself? I mean I totally love Louis off stage when talking to fans because he´s just one tiny soft happy puppy and it would definitely help him to work on this on stage as well. He´s surrounded mostly by larries, by fans who don´t buy his artificial image and all his stunts and are there for his true self and love him for that. Just wonder if they talk about this and if Harry can see it and wants to help him. But maybe I romantize them and their relationship too much, idk.

I think Harry does what he can to help Louis. But their images and playing field are vastly different. Harry knows his flamboyancy will be celebrated and it fits with the image H is going for. It makes him interesting and as long as people don't actually think he's gay, he's allowed and encouraged to toe the line. H's image is way closer to who he really is as a person. I don't think H is repressing himself. Maybe a bit, but not like Louis is. H getting positive feedback to who he is, is giving him confidence.

With L it's the opposite. He's putting on an act, a persona, that's pretty far from who he is. It's reductive. He's struggling to fit into the chav/indie/britpop image and attract that target group. He must feel like people don't love him when he's himself (been told that from tptb since 1D) and the gp and fandom isn't responding as intended to his new image. That must be hard on his confidence. He needs constant validation, which he gets from his fans and comments on at his shows. Still, he knows we don’t buy his lies and he's trying to be someone he's not. Facing an audience of fans who know you fake it must be hard.

Harry loves him regardless, but he sees Louis in private when he can be totally himself. He also knows that Louis can't be himself in public without risking eyes on their sexualities and relationship (and then threatening their careers). So i think H does what he can, encourages him, compliments him and supports him in the ways he can. He did that during 1D too when they shared a stage, but we know that Louis took years to build his confidence on stage back up (after being told he wasn't good enough), and 1D ended when he finally was feeling more confident. That's also when he was saddled with bg. So i think there isn't much H can do that he isn't already doing unfortunatly.

A pairing that I love:

Shockingly, the only pairing other than the main pair that I recall caring much about was Jiang Cheng and Wen Qing. OH AND! Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang, their story was my favorite chapter of the entire story

A pairing that I despise: 

The popularity of wei wuxian and lan wangji has somewhat. Soured them for me, but I definitely don't despise them. Hmm 🤔 most of the possible straight pairings other than above...? I don't know that I've ever seen a pairing that specifically bothered me, jin guangyao and his canonical wife 😂

Osvald as Will Powers obviously means that Harvey is Hammers. Crick is just stupid enough to be a perfect Phoenix.. Temenos doesn't fit into this au that well though... Maybe that's a blessing in disguise cause I don't like him

Could also make an argument for Hikari being Maya and then replacing the shadow with the Fey ghost stuff. That requires Mugen being good but Kazan also has to be good for this au so it's just about preference really. Would Crick have a better dynamic with Ori and Kazan or Hikari and Mugen. Obviously the answer is Ori and Kazan but still thought the Hikari and Mugen option was worth mentioning

Honestly I feel like people get so defensive over things like the flag because 1. a lot of his fandom is straight up homophobic, and 2. every time he does something remotely queer, larries are jumping all over it. And before someone comes at me, I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to do that. I don't really give a shit what they do as long as they aren't attacking anyone, but hot take(?): it's literally like he can't portray any queerness without it being swept up as some kind of proof. And then to make it worse, people that aren't larries see that and their first reaction is to completely deny it. Like in this fandom, there's only two options: Harry is married to his ex-bandmate, or he's straight as a pencil. I've said for a while that this man deserves better fans all around lol. Like I wish he could just exist as himself without people twisting everything he does to fit their own version of him in their heads. Idk, I completely stepped away from keeping up with the fandom on twitter because I'm so tired of seeing all of it.
