one summer when sirius was busy both at the start and end of summer (he’s a freelance artist his sched is hectic) he ends up planning the twin’s visit at the same time (he refuses to have to give up one or the other he wants to see them both because he’s loves them)

when the twins met they immediately clicked and pestered sirius for all the details about their family and sirius, the weakman he is when it comes to his nieces, told them everything

sirius never really understood jegulus’ reason for divorce has always wanted to fix their shit for them or at least get them to see each other again because he knows they still love each other

taking advantage of the situation he with the twins planned to get them back together

the plan involves getting james and regulus into his house (he usually travel with the twins to bring them home to their parent)

he started with regulus and he threatened to keep rory in his house forever if regulus doesnt come and pick is daughter up (and regulus promptly replied “sirius we dont need another black kidnapping drama just give me back my daughter you mother—” eventually he let up and said he’ll arrange for an international floo

james was relatively easier all sirius had to do was pout and beg him to come pick his daughter up and that he misses him dearly and james was already packing his back

james arrived before regulus and they didnt need any dramatics and sirius just let the twins greet him and when james saw rory he immediately pulled her into his arms and cried goes on and on about how beautiful she is and he cant believe she has a french accent and is fluent in french (then he hugged sel and proceeded to tell her how proud he is of her scheming)

regulus they decided needed to be prepared so when he flood into sirius house the person that greeted him was just rory

as soon as he settled in rory told him she made a friend and regulus just smiled and said thats wonderful mon cheri and rory just smiled and goes do you want to meet her and regulus nodded of course and almost had a heart attack when his daughter’s new friend looks exactly like her

he freezes and then let out a soft “sel, my darling, my baby” and then he pulls her into his arms and holds her and he pulled rory into the hug as well and he cries because its his girls and he never thought he’ll see them together and he loves them so much and the memory of buying two of everything he buys for rory because he wanted to buy things for sel even if he knew she’ll never get it

and then as he holds him he tells them he’ll do everything to make sure they’ll see each other again and make arrangements with james so he could get to know sel and make sure he’s part of her life again

and rory goes “thats good dad’s here”

and he looks up and there leaning on the doorframe is james potter looking as handsome as ever and all the walls he had built around his heart just breaks he knows he was still hopelessly in love with james

Um, not sure if you've been asked this before (I could've sworn that at one point you had, but i can't for the life of me find the post) but do you have any thoughts about genderbent Regulus Black?

I can see there being a much more different sibling dynamic between them and Sirius as there isn't an heir and backup dynamic with Walburga and Orion no doubt seeing Regulus as a tool to be married off. Not to mention they'd be much more strict with Sirius without a backup heir to replace him.

Not to mention it would be interesting if Tom saw Regulus as a chance to better win the loyalty of the pureblood community, after all having a bride from one of the most prestigious pureblood families would raise his standing by a lot.

I absolutely love your female Harry AU's especially "I pray(death parts us)" and "Serpent In These Still Waters ", and I love the marriage dynamic between Tom and Harry.

However I do wonder about the arranged marriage dynamic that Tom could have. Especially with someone who was born into the world of pureblood politics.

Ohh yes I know the one you're talking about! I ended up with Rana Black being the fem!Regulus name - you can read the original outline here.

I do have many thoughts about it - mainly how Ran would have grown up shaped by society's expectations and how she would eventually grow to cast those expectations off.

In my idea, Rana manages to convince Orion to ship her off to Beauxbatons. Orion, because his daughter is his favourite child, agrees to do this one thing for her, despite any objections from his wife. Rana actually eventually moves permanently to France with Kreacher as her ""guardian"" (because let's be real, the wizarding world has a pretty broken view on how young children should be raised and this isn't that far out of the norm for them). So Rana misses a large portion of the bullshit that is brewing in Britain.

But...

Walburga sees, Walburga knows. In the brief instances she actually interacts with her daughter (who seemed to grow up between blinks, who turned from a slim and silent shadow of a girl into a calm and confident young woman far from her mother's influence), Walburga learns.

Rana is not some demure wife-to-be. She is a...liberationist. A young woman with incorrect and damaging opinions on what her place in the world should be. Her time in France, in that school, has warped her understanding of her duty.

So, Walburga must fix this. As the new heir to the Black legacy, Rana has a responsibility to their House. She must bring in the next generation, and she must accept her place.

Walburga looks at Narcissa, at Bellatrix, and knows she must find her daughter a husband that can curb her radical views.

She also decides, rather firmly, that it's time her daughter learns deference. Learns to bow.

Orchestrating an encounter between her daughter and the Dark Lord is easy enough. Walburga is one of the few that still sees Tom Riddle in the face of Voldemort, and that tenuous childhood connection gives her enough leverage to push her daughter into the man's space with the implied permission to teach the girl how to drop her chin.

Only...that's not what happens.

Voldemort sees Rana's spark, sees her potential and her ideas and her biting cynicism towards the structures of their society; sees the way her eyes constantly drift towards the horizon, towards France, and finds himself a little curious at this until-now unknown Black.

(Voldemort is, after all, a radical himself. Why Walburga thought he would dismiss Rana's ideals or find her foolish is beyond him.)

Marriage isn't the first or fourth or even twentieth plot he envisions with Rana Black - but eventually it does creep into his purview.

And that intrigue, the future he could see forming with everything Rana Black brings with her, is enough for him to kick things into gear.

The biggest problem - the only problem, really - is that Rana Black does not want to marry.

Anyone.

Not even the Dark Lord.

my plans for 2025 (apart from tackling the steady stream of requests and catch up on my older ones) are to realise my fic concepts under the tag carina has ideas

my primary ones are (almost in this order):

a remus infirmary meet-cute fic with disabled!reader that is mostly just fluffy with some hurt/comfort -- that should be up soon actually!

the jegulus & potter!reader x sirius fic -> reader and reg are besties, james and sirius are besties and they're all scared of hurting each other's feelings so they torture themselves like the idiots in love they are. told from remus' POV, which has been So Much Fun to write. i've written crazy amounts for this, it's truly my baby.

the werewolf!reader x remus fic -> childhood besties kind of akin to inthaf except they met through a lycanthropy support group and have been each other's only friend ever since. i'm loving the dynamics between the marauders, remus and reader here, the perfect kind of angsty.

i'm also working on the bodyguard!remus x muggleborn!activist!reader au -> but i have decided to make it a series which means it will take longer, but i'm so excited. i won't start posting until i've written half of it, just so i know i won't fall behind, so it might take a minute, but i am getting to it.

the academic!rivals turned war tragedy fic -> i'm absolutely obsessed with this concept and it includes some of my favourite scenes i've written, but it takes a while to get through because it's quite emotionally heavy.

the slytherin!reader x post!prank!remus fic -> i have not started working on this unlike all the others, but it's constantly in my mind and definitely on the agenda.

i've been going through a writing slump for regulus so my works for him have been pushed to the back BUT i do still have the academic!rivals to lovers fic and the beauxbatons fic in the works

i might dabble into some of the remus aus i have discussed, like the potions dealer au or the welsh farmer au. maybe even the tropical retreat au, though i think that one would be primarily in drabble form

3. Oh man, I'll tell you now, everyone is divided.

Some are rooting for Cedric because in this crack au he and Harry got to know each other a lot earlier, and many think they are cute. They think Cedric is great because he really helps put Harry at ease and he is always great at bringing Harry's self esteem back up.

Some are rooting for Theo because they feel like Theo and Harry really understand one another and are very patient with one another. Hermoine feels like Theo brings out the best in Harry. When Theo's around, Harry tends to think things through more and Hermoine feels like he smiles more easily and is more open.

Some of course are rooting for Fred, especially Ron and George, because Ron thinks it's a brilliant way to have Harry as a brother and George because Harry and Fred make each other laugh. Plus, Harry has never struggled to tell the twins apart, and that is something so important to them.

Smaller groups are rooting for Daphne and Fay. Daphne because Astoria has never seen her sister so interested in someone like this before, nor has she seen someone actually listen to her sister as attentively as Harry has done when her sister spoke about her struggles. Fay because her friends are honestly so surprised something other than her projects and school caught her attention and they think they'd be cute.

Then there are the OCs who have the supports of their respective schoolmates, purely because friendship but like also...solidarity mf. They are in uncharted territory. They gotta stick together.

4. James finds it absolutely hilarious but is also a little put out that he was never this popular.

Lily is the worried one because, look, James may not have been as popular as their son but he was pretty popular, as was Sirius and Remus and the AMOUNT of schemes she overheard to win their affections was worrisome and concerning. The amount of love potion doused things she threw out without their knowledge was also something that lingered in her mind whenever they were able to peak into the living world and watch over their little boy.

They never thought about returning as ghosts. Therefore, never registered with the ministry, but they are spirits with unfinished business and can't cross fully until they know Harry is safe and sound. They go in-between passing on and limbo a lot. But since the Potters are descendants of the Peveralls and the whole connection to Death, James and Lily get a special privilege of being able to see into the living world and watching over Harry.

It takes a lot of energy, though, so usually they do this one at a time and catch each other up on what the other observed.

But yeah! I love Potter Family Opera asks! But I definitely will be sharing my other HP fic idea because man are some angsty. I'm a sucker for Harry dies and wakes up in the past and gets to things over and I want to try my hand on that. I also want to try my hand at Harry leaving the British Wizarding World because he's just done.

the idea first came to me when i was thinking of interesting subversions to the wrong boy who lived trope. what if the prophecy was about a girl, and, because hetta (femharry) is seen as a boy when it's made, nobody thinks she's eligible. she has a twin sister named rose who, after halloween night, is hailed as the girl who lived while hetta is shipped off to live with the dursleys as usual.

so, rose is raised by james with remus and sirius helping out. peter is on the run.

hetta, though, is accepted by the dursleys. she takes their last name and is raised like a second kid to them. then, because of hetta's accidental good luck, she gives him a promotion and grunnings expands to france. the dursleys move there and hetta becomes a student at beauxbatons when the time comes.

when hogwarts doesn't send a letter for hetta (because she's a citizen of france) everyone who knows abt her just assumes she's a squib.

anyways, hetta and rose don't meet until 4th year during the triwizard tournament.

For now, he followed the strange sensation that let him know he was going the right way, a soft tug that was comfortable and slightly hungry, though he didn't know how or why. There was a strange boy in the woods that only ever approached Harry, no one else. And there was also the matter of the lightning-bolt-shaped scar on Harry's forehead.

Voldemort, instead of going to Riddle Manor during 1994, goes to the Malfoy Manor instead. Draco or his family were never equipped to handle him in the first place. The Hanahaki Disease, it read, is a curse that would cause its victims to discharge flowers through their mouth in the presence and when thinking of someone they love romantically, and who they believe would never be able to return their feelings. While this curse may not seem harmful at first, if left untreated, the afflicted would be forced to give up their life to the curse due to blood loss and suffocation through how the vines wrap around the victims' heart. Sirius had known this since he was eleven, eagerly expecting Hogwarts. He just hadn’t expected Remus to consume his life so utterly.

The story of how Harry dies in the hands of Voldemort have always been set in stone. He must either die, or come back to his own life, and make of that what he will. But this time, he gets another choice: to stay and rule with Tom Marvolo Riddle, the new Dream king, who would do anything within his grasp to have Harry by his side.

There's a lurch and a lot of dizziness, and suddenly Grimmauld Place looks like it hasn't seen a living person in decades. There is a boy of Regulus' age though, looking exactly as exhausted and done with the world as Regulus feels. Regulus survived the cave filled with Inferi. Sometimes - like when he's hurled through time into a future that is incredibly different from his own - he couldn't help but wish he didn't.

Catra, surprisingly, had been the first one to suggest it. When Adora had complained about her mother who had been pressuring her about settling down and getting a proper boyfriend for Thanksgiving—even though Adora had told her that she was a lesbian multiple times, something in Catra had snapped. She had found herself suggesting going as Adora's date, knowing that other than Adora having a girlfriend, Adora with Catra as her girlfriend would be Adora's mother's worst fear personified. It was the perfect plan. Too bad it derailed fairly quickly.
