Chinese Beauty Couches 美人榻 (Měirén tà) /Concubine Chaise Lounges 贵妃榻 (Guìfēi tà)

Since their origination in Tang Dynasty, these day beds were popular among aristocratic women of China. In costume dramas you often see scenes of noble ladies taking quite aesthetic naps on them, reading books, fanning themselves etc. There are several types.

I have an ongoing collection of such scenes from dramas lol something about them is quite alluring but ALSO funny to me at the same time 🤣 This post will be continuously updating till I reach the tumblr image limit (30), let's see how long that will take!

Or one can sprawl on the Luohan Bed 罗汉床 (Luóhàn chuáng) -though less comfortably- if too lazy to move onto even the couch 😆

EXHIBIT A:

superstar saga

luigi disguises herself as princess peach in order to fool cackletta and bowsette (and seems to be enjoying herself)

probably the most well known!

EXHIBIT B:

super mario adventures

luigi wears a dress twice in this series, once as a nurse and again as princess peach, even stating that she "likes it" when she wears a dress. (and that little sweat drop....she's nervous to admit it.........)

EXHIBIT C:

superstar saga manga

luigi is again shown in princess peaches dress (and enjoying it alot) (like look at those eyes) and also as a maid! (interesting!)

EXHIBIT D:

new super mario bros U deluxe

the item description references luigis disappointment that she will not be able to use the super crown. (a power up used by toadette to become peachette, giving her a dress and feminine body)

yoshi calls luigi “mama luigi” in an episode of the super show! she eventually kinda adopts the name (the “that’s mama luigi to you, mario” line). (multiple people insisted i add this one so i did hehehe)

conclusion: LUIGI IS A BEAUTIFUL LADY!!!!!! she loves dresses and looking pretty and i need people to know that more

I love the gelphie tag on ao3 so much but it surprises me how few of them want to use the power of fanfic to bring the movie/musical version of glinda the same power she has in the books, both the og and the wicked years books, like, morrible's weather thing? That's glinda's power in the og book she was the good witch of the south with weather powers(and plant based powers, like Rio from AAA) and in the Wicked books she was not as helpless as they made her in the musical either she can use magic even if tends to explode from what i remember lmao. I have several issues with how badly glinda and fiyero suffered from their original versions to the musical and by consequence the movie as a whole tbh.

Edit: OH YEAH AND THAT'S ME FORGETTING TO MENTION HOW IN BAUM'S VERSION NOT ONLY SHE WAS ALL THAT BUT SHE WAS ALSO A SCIENTIST AND HAD AN ALL WOMEN ARMY AND KEPT 100 OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN OF OZ IN HER MANSION anyway i digress, musical glinda was done dirty compared to other versions of the character and i stand by that
