open event starter
Nick had been quick to deposit the massive bowl of homemade salsa verde and assorted bags of tortilla chips at the food table, freeing up his hands so he could take in the rest of the fire hall. He wasn't terribly familiar with it by day, since he'd never had reason to set foot inside the local fire station (the annual summer carnival they sponsored obviously being held outdoors), but it was still fairly apparent that a lot of work had gone into the decorations and set up. The music was a nice touch, and he couldn't help but grin at the karaoke machine -- that would be a lot of fun soon enough, he could already tell. Nick pivoted in place to scan the hall and gave a low, impressed whistle. "This is pretty legit -- I missed last year's party at town hall, but I'm kinda glad I didn't just decide to stay home again this year."

Chris leaned against the wall, a grin plastered across his face as he watched everybody dance in elaborate costumes. It had been years since he’d attended a Halloween party, and he genuinely enjoyed the festive energy. But amid the laughter and playful banter, an anxious thought crept in: how long could he stay before it felt rude to leave? “I wonder,” he said, half to himself and half to the person next to him, “how long I have to stick around before people start to notice if I sneak out?” He chuckled nervously, glancing at the clock. “I don’t want to be that guy who just disappears, you know?”

SNEAK PEEK: Bearcreek Carnival
After the success of Bearkcreek's Annual Founders Day, we're working on our fifth event - a carnival put on by the Bearcreek Fire Department! The carnival itself is running from Thursday, July 18th through to Saturday, July 20th, opening each day at 5pm and running until 10pm.
Though the carnival runs for 3 days, to make everything easier on everyone and keep us all on the same page, the event itself is only for Saturday, the final day of the carnival. The last day of the carnival also ends with fireworks at dusk! So the event itself will take place in-game on Saturday, July 20th, from 5pm - 11pm EST; interactions for the event however will be able to start Friday, July 19th, at 12pm EST and run through to Friday, July 26th, at 11:59pm EST.
Just as we do with all of our events, we will make an official event post the day before the event starts, listing more details of what the event will include! And we currently still have room for one more player to join the group before we hit our max member cap of 20, so if you want to join in and have your character established before the event, you should come check us out and get an app in!

It wasn't exactly comfortable to be walking into a party where she knew pretty much nobody. Madeline was thankful she had taken some of the women up on the offer of brunch so at least there were a few familiar faces. But after her interview snafu that she was still pretending not to think about, she figured she deserved a little fun. As much fun as this small town could offer, at least. Far from the opulent gatherings she was used to in New York City Madeline was glad that at least her costume fit in, glancing around at the growing crowd. It seemed obvious that she should head to the bar, leaning a bit against the counter as she waited to be noticed. "I know, I'm new around here," she stated, feeling eyes on her already. "I'm Madeline, although something tells me that you probably already know that."

👻 OPEN STARTER 🎃
Sam Evans had always been a massive fan of Halloween. It was one of the few days of the year when he could dress up as one of his favorite characters and fully embrace his love for everything spooky and mysterious. Usually, he would opt for a superhero costume, channeling the likes of Captain America or Thor, but this year, he decided to break away from tradition and embody a character from a different world.
Dressed as Wednesday Addams from the famous dance scene, Sam felt both exhilarated and self-conscious as he made his way to the dance floor. The black dress, the braided hair, and the deadpan expression were all different from his usual costume choices, but he was determined to fully embrace the character.
However, his lack of dance floor finesse got the better of him, and he accidentally stepped on someone's toes. Blushing furiously, he turned to the person he had accidentally injured and apologized profusely. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that," he stammered, embarrassed by his lack of coordination.

🎃 Open Starter 🎃
It doesn’t matter Matt’s well into his 30s (😫) he’ll forever act a giant kid when it comes to Halloween. He gets it not everyone’s jam, as some prefer Mariah Carey’s anthem over the Monster Mash. Buuuuuuuut Matt’s gonna live it up tonight and decided to make good use of the dance floor. The lead pipe was in one hand as he bopped and grooved to a tune, uncaring he looked a fool while doing so. At the end of the song he went to the chair which he slung his purple suit jacket on. “If they play some Tina Turner later, you can bet my ass will be back on that floor.” He laughed. “Think I’ll catch you out there at some point?”
