One, Two, Three

Warriors sighed as he lay on the sand, the cool breeze washing over him a nice contrast to the harsh fighting of barely a day prior.

He let his eyes close as he listened to the soothing lullaby of the waves crashing against the shore and the distant shrieking of the rest of the chain playing some game in the water. 

The boys were a ways down the beach, the captain waving to them as he walked almost out of ear shot of where they had set up, Legend taking this as an opportunity to joke about him needing his “beauty rest”. This down time was extremely rare to come by these days, so Warriors just brushed off their comments and enjoyed his time to himself. 

This was, until muffled giggles reached the captain's ears. With his eyes still closed, he tried to make out who it was.

While he could only hear the sailors' poor attempts to quiet his laugh, Warriors knew that the champion couldn’t be too far behind. 

“I know you’re there.”

He didn’t open his eyes. He didn’t need to in order to know that they stopped in their tracks. 

It was silent for a moment. Then two. But very slowly (and Warriors was sure they believed quietly too) the captain heard footsteps creep closer to him. 

Against his better judgment, he kept his eyes closed, blissfully ignoring the fact that he knew his time to relax was going to be cut short. The sound of sand moving around stopped near his head. Warriors sighed, preparing himself to finally face whatever they had in stock for him. He assumed maybe they would cover him in sand, as he had already heard the veteran yelling at some of the boys for burying him during a nap. Warriors just hoped that he didn’t end up with too much sand in his mouth.

The captain felt a breath next to his ear. “No we’re not”

Warriors jumped up with what was sure to be a scream he would be made fun of for the rest of his time with the chain as freezing water was poured over his body. He coughed and spit as he tried to get as much salt water out of his mouth as he could, the two boys howling with laughter behind him. 

Once the captain finally caught his bearings (although still with a nasty taste in his mouth) he turned around slowly to face the culprits of his attack. 

As soon as they saw him glaring at them they froze, looking at him like deer in the face of a hunter. No words were exchanged for a moment as they stared, neither of the two daring to move even a muscle.

Warriors seemed to glare harder.

“One.”

Wind and Wild shared a confused glance between themselves.

“Two.”

They realized, scrambling to get up before the captain spoke again. The sailor slipped in his haste to leave, managing to get a mouth full of sand before the champion grabbed him by the back of the shirt and hauled him up to make their escape down the beach, hoping to get to Time before Warriors got to them.

Before he got to three, the captain was already up and chasing after them, sand flying up behind his feet as he gave pursuit. Wind screamed as he fell again, but Wild didn’t pay attention, now focused solely on saving himself and getting to the safety of where everyone else was. 

Warriors lunged, grabbing Wind’s ankle and dragging the sailor towards him, picking him up when he finally got close enough. 

Wind squirmed in the captain’s grasp, limbs flying in every direction to get free, but Warriors held tight, walking towards the crashing waves.

“Stop it, let me go!” 

Warriors remained silent, letting Wind’s pleas fall on deaf ears. Only once the water was up to the captain's mid shin did he stop. He took hold of the sailor’s bicep and calf and dangled him over the water.

“Champion! Champion, save me!” There was no response.

 “You traitor! I hope you get food poisoning or something!”

Without any warning, Warriors began swinging Wind back and forth, once again beginning a countdown.

“One.”

Wind kept struggling.

“Two.”

Warriors smiled.

“Three.” 

The sailor went flying through the air as soon as he was released from the captain’s hold, yelling curses the whole way until finally he landed in the water. 

With that, Warriors left the waves behind him, tuning out the sailors' spluttered hacks and threats, and returned to where he was napping earlier. He still had a smile on his face as he laid back down and closed his eyes once again.

He hoped that maybe they would find a beach again sometime soon, even though he knew that the goddess would never be kind enough to grant him actual rest with the rest of the boys around to mess with him.

Although, Warriors found that he didn’t actually mind as long as they were happy.

care to fame, Sombron is a complicated character to insert into otherwise casual interactions, especially with his tendency to prefer directness over connecting with others. thus, I had to alter a few plots to provide a gap for us, as the writers, to work within without retracting the joy of the mission. bear with me as I wrestle him further into his disguise; and similarly, understand that the majority of these plots may be slightly aggressive in terms of bonding! since he doesn't believe in that, of course, which is totally real and totally makes sense.

as always, the cap of threads I'm willing to take is three to five, with the exception of greeting asks spilling over into their own interactions. I am also not taking up any plots that are not listed here, since I likely won't have a proper reason to include Sombron there without causing a few contingency errors in and out of character. but despite that, if any of these itches your fancy, then contact me on Discord through the server, DMs, or comment on this post and I'll get back to you once available.

ANY SKILL +1 : this hunter has not been hunted since he was a young babe, showing off his growing fangs to the only mother proud enough to spy his sharpening adolescence. all this is to say is that Sombron is not afraid of these monsters, nor is he amused by their intelligence; for any being that prides their mind above his isn't as smart as they claim. in his experience, monsters will bend to their instinct no matter how great their will, so his methods are. . . questionable. questionable as in he will offer these monsters the delicacy of flighty prey to appease their ego and thrill of a chase. however, Sombron's role in this is the executioner, so either your muse will agree to fill the sheepskin of the victim, aid him in finding a less fortunate bystander, or you'll learn he is not foreign to the art of creating sacrifices from unwilling patrons. / TAKEN BY SOJI & RAFAL

STRANDED BY SHORE : surviving in the wake of disaster is a skill he was forced to learn at an unfairly young age, and one he sought to teach to his children hands - on. so, having to remember all he learned, and why, is an introspective thrill I would love to explore. for narrative purposes, the storm is likely still a remnant in the air surrounding the isle, since anything else is likely weather he can fly through ( whilst leaving your muse, I'm sorry ) . preferably, this can be taken up with a muse who is knowledgeable on survival techniques, since anyone else will be seen as a liability and thus, a one - course meal instead of an ally. unless. . . you want that and like the thought of fending him off while trying to survive. we can likely make a game out of this, if so.

AUTHORITY +1 : less likely to revolt because of physical grievances, more likely to revolt because of the distaste that accompanies an overly qualified worker beneath an incompetent boss. he's already beneath two authority figures as of waking here, and he's not willing to add a third to the dreaded list. however, Sombron is willing to work aside someone to overthrow the respective supervisor of their team; as long as you're willing to get your hands dirty with his twisted morality. the plan is simple: kill the supervisor, assume their position, and gather the respect of the workers for liberating them— all before you work them to their hardest! easy, right? unless you're mortified by his ideology and wish to stop his ridiculous plan before the cycle repeats. / TAKEN BY ASTER & ALEAR
