So it's funny that the older I get the more things stay the same or rather I revisit things I used to enjoy as a kid. One that I've dabbled back into is makeup. I really loved farting around with it when I was in high school (which was almost 15 years ago! Jesus how time flies!) and now that I can afford the nicer quality stuff I took the plunge.
It's weird to say that the older I get the more I enjoy the more stereotypical 'feminine' stuff spite growing up as a very tomboyish person. I definitely don't act 'lady like', that's for sure. I've always been that person that goes by the beat of my own drum and sometimes that means that I go back and dust certain things off or leave others behind for good. I was contemplating getting back into dolling myself up for a while considering I've found a love for dressing fairly nicely (albeit my clothes aren't fancy by any means) and putting a lot of care in taking care of my skin/hair with my daily routines.
If there's anything I could say to people is now that I've hauled my mental health out of the gutter over the course of the past few years, I've been putting more dedication in putting my best face forward. It's something that helps me feel better about myself knowing that I'm putting effort into being the best version of me possible. I've had people say that your body is a 'temple', I much rather not be the one that got ransacked by raccoons after the rave if possible.
It's nice to do all this stuff for me. Keeping myself healthy (I eat fairly well and I'm pretty active as is) but also looking great. Really helps bat away bouts of depression. Even if I don't leave the house, it's good to just savour what I have and relish in small moments of bliss when I get them.
Stay hydrated and unbothered!

the fact that there has been a new "it" water bottle almost every other year over the past few years really rubs me the wrong way
capitalism has taken what was meant to be an enduring one-time purchase into a fleeting status symbol to chase.
these water bottles were built to last!! but instead they're being tucked away, never to be seen again, despite being perfectly functional just because they're no longer the water bottle to have

hi clari! after reading ur posts about being a film and basically lit major i was curious about why u decided to study film at a university level n how it ties into ur “story” if u know what i mean
hello!! hmm i’m not like 100% sure what you mean by story (like, as in the story of my life???) but i decided to study film at a university level because i love cinema with everything in me and planned to work in the industry in any way, whether that be in production or distribution or exhibition or on an even more academic level (it’s a dream of mine to create my own film journal and publish academic pieces written by women).
my goals have changed a little now—i still love cinema, and i’d still die to work in the industry, but i’m currently more focused on creating (writing for) indie games + publishing novels & collections of short stories. everything i studied in school + the skills i developed n sharpened there are still helpful and applicable to these fields as well so!! i definitely do not regret my degree at all and i’m really happy i went with it! c: i also loved my program so so so much <3

perfect morning routine 💗

1. wake up early (5:30-6:30 am): start the day off with waking up early to make your mornings feel less rushed.
2. hydrate (5 minutes): drink a glass of water to kickstart your metabolism and rehydrate after a night’s sleep.
3. yoga (10-15 minutes): a short yoga session can help loosen muscles and improve blood flow.
4. meditation (5-10 minutes): practicing deep breathing to center your mind and reduce stress for the day ahead.
5. exercise (20-30 minutes): moderate workouts like a jog, bodyweight exercises, or cycling to boost your energy levels and release endorphins.
6. healthy breakfast (20 minutes): aim for a balance of protein, fiber, and healthy fats. (if you take daily vitamins, do it after having breakfast)
7. shower/skin care (15-20 minutes): refresh yourself and do your skincare routine.
8. daily intentions/scheduling (5 minutes): write and/or vocalize your priorities or goals for the day. you can use a calendar or a journal. this will help you with getting all important things done.
all 8 steps do not need to be done every day but consistency brings the best results!! this routine will leave you feeling energized with a clear mind to start the day!!

having a good day so far, i went to class today and i took my meds, brushed my teeth, used my waterpik, washed/moisturized my face etc. this morning :) i’m at the dining hall rn with one of my roommates and i ate a cheeseburger, fries and an apple and drank some fruit punch hi-c. i also drank a full bottle of water (32oz) already and i have caffeine in my system as well which helps me to focus (i have cherry alani sticks that my friend gave me because they can’t have caffeine anymore). i also had some vanilla ice cream, half a twix my roommate gave me, and i tried a chicken pesto calzone that was in the dining hall, it was really tasty so I’m probably going to take another one and sneak it out so I have one for another day when there isn’t good food or when I’m hungry late in the evening when the dining hall is closed, etc.
