has anyone else seen the incredibly strange and unique glitch that happens when recording Spore in OBS with game capture? Because it has fascinated me for years and it is so odd that is does this at all.

Strangely, it seems to not be discussed much online and no one really goes into why. even i dont have tech answers on Why but the most is that OBS seems to capture the loading of textures/normal maps/etc when something like a creature is loaded (doesnt happen with vehicles or buildings). They are so fast that I guess it can be assumed this is being done all the times when you are playing, but for some reason OBS manages to process it. If anyone has more insight, feel free to add on.

I will post screenshots below, but you can see a video where i slowed it down 10% (even then, its still really bad). There are a few clips out there but I wanted to slow it down as much as I could.

And the first time it happened was incredibly unsettling. and streaming it live without realizing it would happen is horrible lol... It only appears on the OBS/viewers side, and not on your own game screen so its easy to not notice right away.

Jumble of headcanons in no particular order about Vark because I need to write them down somewhere to pretend to be organized

He started off sooo cute and tiny, like the size of a guinea pig. And he made laser noises like a baby Cuban crocodile.

He was so so tiny. He did not stay tiny.

Sharks sense electricity! He's naturally drawn to Vox when Vox is taking in or letting off too much power. He naturally interrupts Vox's overstimulation and warns about seizures, so Vox trained him some actual medical alert tasks.

Service shark Vark 🐕‍🦺

On the topic of electricity, I also headcanon him as having some aspects of an electric eel as well. A fantasy eel. He can take in some of Vox's excess energy, and isn't bothered by the sparks Vox throws off.

I'm chewing on the idea that Val bought Vark for Vox as an apology gift.

Now I'm just quoting myself directly from discord: I keep thinking of how I can include this (Vark being a gift from Val) in my one fanfic where it obviously does not fit bc Val hates Vark in it. Maybe he's jealous that Vox cares way more about Vark himself than the fact that Val gave him a gift. So unappreciative, didn't even have make-up sex over it bc Vox was too busy practically having a breakdown over how adorable Vark is. Val realizes that this was a mistake and he should have picked a very different gift instead

Vark is such a well behaved good boy when he's working, as a service shark. When Vox is in distress, Vark is so focused on trying to help with all the power of his tiny shark brain <3 Outside of that tho? He's a terror. He's so excitable. He canonically (in the old Voxtagram art) jumps on and knocks people over. This ties into him previously being a tiny adorable little thing. It was sooo cute when he jumped on your leg, back when he was the size of a large potato. It stayed cute up until they realized he was going to be so much bigger than they ever expected.

(It's like a bottle raised bull. The cute things they did when they were a little baby calf are no longer cute now that they're so large they are going to hurt you on accident just trying to be friendly and playful. RIP.)

Other service dog tasks for Vark: deep pressure therapy (of course. Interrupting behaviors such as when Vox is getting overwhelmed. Blocking to stop other people from getting too close to/touching Vox when he would shock them. I am forgetting so many things and will continue writing this list later

Vox doesn't do public access with Vark. This ties into my headcanons for Vox that he is deeply ashamed of himself and he cannot let anyone know he has problems ever.

Unfortunately, I am evil. So I also like the idea of Vark as an owner-trained service animal who is hmm not the perfect candidate for the job. In the same way shepherds aren't recommended for anxiety work, he can feed too much off of Vox's own emotions and has issues with guarding aggression that at times cause him to become reactive. (*points at my fanfic where he bites Val*)

I love bad representation.

Alsooo I don't like hammerhead sharks or animals that are too cartoon-y for me to understand as a real creature, so I'm making up a new design for Vark

this week was actually probably the scariest seizure experience i've had so far i think. mostly because it happened outside late at night and i was out there an hour before anyone noticed. and it's like shit things already were pretty bad but how bad would have it gone if i had been out there for even longer. and it is just a lot. to have to think about "okay so this could happen at any time at any moment. if you are alone what are you going to do" and have to try to start planning. cause like. there are so many situations where i am alone bc i like. i have to go to work. i'm going to go grocery shopping. i just go out in public alone like. and it just isn't feasible for someone to constantly be with me. idk. i don't really know what to do but i'm trying to figure out anything i can do to make it safer so that i don't end up lying outside in the snow for over an hour again.

hi, do you know of anywhere I can read people’s personal experiences of what CAH adrenal crises feel like? I’ve always known I’m intersex due to my genital appearance at birth and early unexpectedly masculinizing puberty, but haven’t pursued a formal diagnosis bc it didn’t seem important. but I get unexplained seizures and after learning more about CAH (this blog has been so helpful, thank you!) I’m wondering if it could be adrenal crises. the medical literature hasn’t been helpful for understanding what an adrenal crisis feels like (and is also triggering because … medical) and I want to be sure it’s similar before I bring it up to my neurologist

Hi anon! That makes a lot of sense to me that you would be wanting some more descriptions of what adrenal crisis feels like. I think my biggest tip would be to expand your search to also just include general adrenal crisis caused by other things like Addison's or other types of adrenal insufficiency, because even though adrenal crisis is caused by different things, it would still be a similar experience to adrenal crisis from CAH. And it's often easier to find info about more common adrenal diagnoses like Addisons, just cause info on CAH is so rare.

There's a few personal stories of adrenal crisis on the Adrenal Insufficiency Coalition. There's also some personal stories on the Addison's self help group. The Addison's disease reddit also has some personal stories.

No clue. This was actually the first I heard of it, but after looking into it, I found this article discussing it a bit.

So at least, dissociative disorders can cause seizures.

I don't think I've heard of seizure disorders associated with other aspect of systemhood though. (Things like hearing intelligent voices, for example. While there are sometimes auditory hallucinations during seizures, my understanding is that these are usually random voices rather than anything coherent.)

Blendiness and not always knowing who is in front is also really common with dissociative disorders.

If you're having seizures, this is something you should talk to a doctor about to understand better. But if you're not, I don't think it would make sense to attribute your plurality to a seizure disorder.

the thing that's been bothering me sm is that, if neteyam was meant to appear in the next movies as flashbacks why would he be there until the 4th? i saw the next avatar movies in jamie flatters' upcoming movies and neteyam's list of appearances too last i checked (?)

logically speaking, if he were to appear just as flashbacks then it'll end on the third and that's it. not until 4th. there's no way it takes 2 movies for an intended "character development"

not to mention, i saw some say that it's 'sad how kiri wont be able to visit neteyam via spirit tree' which tbh i think no fucking way. not with that huge ass storyline that awaits for kiri. no way james cameron is gonna just leave that be. kiri's story is meant for something big. some are still wondering who her dad is while tbh i believe it's insignificant on whom but more to how and why.

I find myself obsessed with the concept of a Riverdale Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet fusion (with a smattering of Hamlet)

Imagine Hiram Lodge as Macbeth and Hermione Lodge as Lady M taking over Riverdale by killing Fred Andrews in a convenient “accident”. Archie knows this bc the ghost of his father told him (but he also could have just been high on the jingle jangle in those cookies but try telling that to the sheriff) and he is determined to take revenge but falls in love with veronica while infiltrating hiram’s drug operation (ok i guess there’s quite a bit of Hamlet ).

Betty is Rosalind in this situation (Archie’s ex who he leaves for Veronica). Betty is also an FBI informant (duh) who goes to Hiram and offers to spy on Archie for him (citing revenge for him dumping her) but secretly she feeds him false information that makes him increasingly paranoid (acts as three witches) and with Veronica’s help convinces Hermione to get hiram to dispose of the blossoms- the only other powerful family in riverdale that poses a threat to Hiram’s control of Riverdale (to stop Penelope blossom’s poisonous involment in g&g). Cheryl survives the attack and flees Thornhill (Fleance).

Meanwhile Jughead who has been resisting Hiram’s attempts to buy out sunnyside trailer park seeks out Archie (Malcolm) believing he is the solution to Hiram lodge’s power grab - he is now the only red-head in Riverdale and thus by an ancient law (introduced by the Blossoms- no wonder they wanted to set him up with Cheryl) could stand as a mayoral candidate at the last minute and can trigger an election and as ppl think he is a golden retriever he could push Hermione lodge out of office. And who else has the abs to defeat hiram in a boxing match?

Unfortunately archie is like, “oh idk if i could do that jug. Hirams a pretty buff dude ;)” When jughead (Macduff) returns home disappointed he finds the serpents have been attacked by the ghoulies employed by Hiram. FP is in hospital in critical condition. This motivates him to inspire the serpents and northsiders to unite against hiram. The southsiders respond with community organisation and the northsiders are also…helpful? Gay kevin puts on a musical denouncing Hiram lodge, Alice Cooper writes damaging articles and Josie McCoy sings at every protest. Sweet pea, Tony and Fangs are quizzical at first but eventually just shrug and enjoy these…interesting tactics.

Meanwhile hermione lodge is encouraged to flee as betty claims that hiram has begun to turn on her as well bc he knows about her affair with Fred Andrews. Veronica fakes an attempt on her mother’s life from Hiram, believing it will encourage her to leave. However, Hermione, overcome by guilt and fear, fakes her own suicide.

Hiram is sad but believes he is untouchable due to misinformation from betty, “Archie would never move against you and also you’re too powerful to be taken down by the FBI. Really, I promise!”

Veronica believes she has caused her mother’s death and in a game of G and G drinks from one of the goblets and has a seizure.

Believing jughead to be responsible for Veronica’s death (j made a very vague threat about hiram’s loved ones bearing the consequences of his actions) Hiram challenges him to a boxing match. Jughead accepts seeing it as a chance for vengeance. Things aren’t going with well for jughead without his flip knife.

Suddenly Archie sees Veronica’s body and believing her to be dead drinks from both cups just to be sure he will die too. Before he dies he rips his shirt in grief that it’s come to this. This distracts Hiram so Jughead is able to gain the upper hand. Turns out Archie had the abs to defeat him afterall!

Then betty arrives with the FBI in tow (Burnham forest baby!) and arrests Hiram before jughead can kill him. All mourn the tragic death of Archie and Veronica. But then cheryl shows up and A&V wake up- turns out there was no poison in either challis (she decided not to carry on her mum’s poison stuff…she prefers shooting ppl with her bow) She seems poised to shoot everyone in the room in revenge and then in Cheryl fashion announces that she never liked her family anyway and now she gets to inherit the whole blossom fortune. And she’s in a polyamorous relationship with Tony and Hermione lodge and sashays away with a “toodles”.

And just as you think, hey this isn’t too unhinged for Riverdale. All the characters wake up in hospital (bc they have the set so they need to use it) and discover they have all been in comas induced by the runoff from Cheryl’s uncle’s fizzlerocks production. Nothing matters bc it’s Riverdale. Goodnight!

Exeggutor (alolan): thought it would be a funny nod to the operator. I imagine as the series goes on the eggs start to lose their faces (and thus become more similar looking to the operator) but that's silly.

porygon-Z: he has a porygon-2 when marble hornets (the student film) starts but it evolves into porygon-z shortly after Alex sees the operator for the first time.

Rotom (heat): his rotom used to live in his camera but he has it operate a microwave oven when he decides to burn Jay's apartment and later Tim's house down. Inteleon: closest we've gotten to a gun pokemon. that's it.

Shedinja: specifically one with wondergaurd considering how long Jay went without dying despite actively putting himself in more danger in the entire series.

Klefki: have you seen how many places this guy breaks into over the course of the series. His klefki probably has soooo many stolen keys on it. Imagine that scene where he takes Alex's car keys but he just gives them to his klefki instead. lmao

Meowth (galarian): Jay Merrick wet cat allegations.

Duskull: a nod to skully even though they are separate characters now (as far as im aware? i havent read the comics OTL). It's also a nod to how Jay left Tim's house to follow him to the college after Tim told him to stay there bc of how badly he was affected by operator illness, which results in his death. (duskull are known to take away disobedient children lmfao)

Absol: Absol is frequently blamed for natural disasters. Y'know who else is blamed for a disaster? yeah.

Yamask: nod to masky. I'd imagine Tim's yamask carries the masky mask around instead of the one it usually has.

Mabosstiff: I'd imagine that because Tim suffers from seizures he'd probably have a seizure alert dog, so Mabosstiff fit that bill pretty well I think? Also because I want him to have a pet damnit he deserves it.

Spiritomb: nod to operator sickness, since spiritombs have been known to possess people and cause them to commit bad deeds. :thumbs up:

Zoroark (Hisui): zoroarks are known for creating illusions to hide their identity, but hisuian zoroarks have the added "reborn out of spite and malice" aspect that I think fits pretty well with Brian's character arc.

Rotom(wash): the rotom lives in his camera but also possesses as washing machine as a nod to Brian's editing style on TTA including a lot of water imagery.

Mimikyu: nod to hoody, since mimikyu also technically wears a hood, I thought it was fitting.

Dhelmise: this one is harder to explain but I think it fits the "ark" vibe, since dhelmise is a steering wheel and an anchor, and hoody steers Jay around via TTA while also being anchored in mystery. or something like that.

jughead shows up to ppth. house is really interested in his case bc jughead is an insane little man and he keeps rocking back and forth in bed and muttering about the rat king. he always goes to visit him he reads out loud passages from jughead’s novel (he uses the book to psychoanalyze jughead). foreman hates jughead bc he hates poor people. he keeps telling house that he’s not physically sick, he’s just mentally ill, but house insists there’s something causing the psychological symptoms. foreman begrudgingly performs tests while insisting that he’s just schizophrenic and an alcoholic. chase also wants jughead out bc he finds him weird and gross. he doesn’t believe jughead is a famous novelist and insists that he is a male prostitute and tests him for HIV. cameron is strangely attracted to jughead. she very tenderly asks him about his ex girlfriend and his book but he just says “the rat king… argh… betty! no!!!” and starts seizing and foaming at the mouth. house starts thinking it’s rabies. he’s like “get him on anti virals. NOW.” foreman is like “but we haven’t ruled out anything! he had one seizure!” while foreman and house argue, jughead’s condition worsens. atp everyone is like “oops definitely rabies”. he’s like spasming and freaking out when cameron brings him water and she starts crying and runs away. there’s nothing they can do for jughead now. until. house bursts into his room holding a rat. “look familiar?” jughead shrieks and starts convulsing in fear. “it’s your cousin. i think.” house says. the team is like what the FUCK. house continues “can’t you tell? the twitchy nose, beady eyes. he’s part rodent. foreman, push 15 ccs of mouse bites.” jughead screams in pain and starts seizing and struggling to breathe. “more mouse bites!” suddenly, jughead stops. everyone is silent thinking he just died, but he opens his eyes and smiles serenely. house would never know this bc he is an atheist, but god himself was responsible for jughead’s recovery as he needed jug to carry out his will and fight the devil later on.

my over 70,000 word novel that i've written with one of my best friends

my skateboard, which i spent hours designing the back of, i used posca paint pens to create a comic strip design with a custom character i created!

one of my first and fav kpop album redesigns...i was so excited and happy w how it turned out!!

have you ever saved someone's life?

sort of, in a way. one of my old friends (she now goes to a new school and we don't talk as much anymore) had pots, which is an illness that causes unprovoked fainting/seizures. she would faint, and be unconcious for up to 20mins, and sometimes would have seizures after fainting. other times, she would have times where she would faint multiple times, but only be unconcious for less than a minute, but would faint frequently (maybe 5-10 in an hour). because she was in our class, i did feel a lot of responsibility for looking after her. the teachers knew to call the nurse and the ambulance during her long faints/seizures, and i would go with my friend to show the ambulance where to go. we got so used to running to the school office that i swear our cardio skills built up. we have dealt with one of her faints outside of school too though, without any adult support, which was much scarier, but we managed ok. so i think a bit?

again, cannot choose. my wardrobe is my baby; she is a collection that is never ending and eclectic and so, so me. she's what i spend most of my money on (other than kpop concerts) and i love her sm.

the fact that mf orange juice fucks with my adhd meds. like thank you mum for telling me TWO MONTHS AFTER I STARTED MY MEDICATION like i swear one month is 30 days right, and x2 is 60, and i literally know that at least 20/60 days i SWALLOWED my pills using orange juice. NO WONDER THEY LITERALLY DIDNT WORK

He did. Its unclear what has caused my fathers psychosis however. His mother holds that when he was young he overdosed on some medication and had a long series of epileptic-like seizures, and that this may be the source; doesnt seem too far fetched bc there have been cases of this happening, and of epileptic seizures causing religious-focused psychosis, and feelings of "heaven" and "hell." Noone else in that line of my family, or on any side of my familty, has had any kind of psychosis-inducing mental illness however, noone recently at least or noone that anyone knows of

I used to worry about it at the beggining, yes, every once in awhile I still do. I mean, before i even did psychadelics weed could have technically caused psychosis - ive met ppl in psych wards who had weed-induced psychosis who had no family history of it even; one girl who it hit after the first time she smoked, and didnt even smoke much. However, no matter how much and how frequently ive smoked, ive never come close to feeling like it was causing that - the most ive had is weed-induced paranoia and other shit, but nothing once I came down. To smoke weed was a risk in the first place, which i took, and so far its been years and nothing has hit me

When i first tried psychadelics, and acid was the first one, I knew it was a risk, one i took because I know I could handle high doses of weed without losing it, and because I was...... well. I was fucked up. anorexia bulimia suicidality a bunch of other shit, i wasnt far away from a second suicide attempt at all, and I couldnt rly see many ways out of the shitshow i was in - i figured if I didnt kill myself the anorexia or bulimia would kill me anyway...... and so, i decided to take the risk, that everything good ive heard might be worth it. And im very glad I did, bc theres a high chance id be...... either dead or much worse off today

By now ive tripped idk well over 50/60 times and have yet to feel like my brain has been pushed twoards psychosis. The most I can say is that, and this applies only to acid which I dont rly do anymore, when I did later on take probably too high doses and had rly bad trips,,,,, yea, in the middle of the bad trip i was afraid of that possibility (or more accurately afraid the trip would never end) - frankly, I think the fact that I had the strength to keep myself together and pull myself out of it got me through it; i dont know if someone else going through that experience without prior experience and the ability to try to keep it together would have had a psychotic break, idk, maybe so maybe not - maybe it wouldnt have been chemical but it would have been so traumatic that theyd have been lost in the sauce. Or maybe not........ the most i can say is that I learned my lesson w strong doses of acid, and that it did happen that I felt its effects for days or weeks after the trip - not psychosis or delusions - hard to explain, but its like the trip lingers; in good cases this is called psychadelic "afterglow," after bad or exhausting trips its not particularly pleasant

Sooo, idk. Yea, i guess it could happen, fuck it, it could happen with weed too. Its a risk I take. I don't smoke as commonly as I used to anyway, and I dont do psychadelics as often (tho frankly the times when I would do shrooms around once or twice a month were the most productive, stable, sane, happy periods of my life). I hope to God it wont, but it could, even being careful and respectful with it

....... overall though? psychadelics, and especially shrooms, have made me feel exponentially, exponentially more "sane" than I ever was before I took them..... and even particularly crazy trips managed to teach me, my brains a lot more put together and stronger than I thought it was
