Eunbin blew out a puff of smoke into the night air. She looked bored as she watched the smoke disappear, and kicked her legs over the side a little more. Her brown hair was pushed back behind her ears, and her black sweatshirt sat comfortably on her shoulders. She looked at peace.
You leaned back on your hand, mimicking the way her legs moved, and stared up at the moon. It had been full for days now, and you wondered if something was wrong with the rotation of planet Earth, but gravity still worked the same, so you guessed it was okay.

Day 7/75
we were outside BBQuing today but i still did something
🌸 as usual my routined pathology in dutch in the morning ����🌸🌸 im totally in love that they call Legionnaires' disease (aka Legionellen-Pneumonie in german) veteranenziekte
🌸 had a lesson with teacher
🌸 done almost a hour of yoga to repair me after the accident
🌸 learned new words
🌸 finally finished stupid spiritual magazine and going to start reading medical one tomorrow
🌸 done some organisatorical stuff for the end of my internship
🌸 layed on grass in the sun talking with my grandpa, he had b-day today, so i called to congratulate
🌸 a dutch friend also came to our BBQ so we talked in dutch a lot
i think my autoimmune process got triggered through the accident because i feel some kind of fatique i had by the time of initial diagnosis

Do you think Tsurumi has kept Wilkie's body and eaten it?
he's actually plucking wilk's eye out here and then popping it into his mouth to chew on like evil jelly
again, stronk af jaw. i doubt they had ice-dispensing refrigerators with fancy shelves in meiji era japan so if he feasted on wilk's flesh he needed to be fast about it, but i hate the idea of him sharing it with anyone else. you think it's a coincidence ienaga ended up under his care after abashiri? think again. he needed someone experienced in preparation of human meat because he craves that mineral
i also hope that they bbqued the rest of usami's body and shared it between themselves because it would be a complete shame to let it go to waste. usami's body is full packed with cursed chemicals. sure, his flesh has a foul smell and is black and rotted, and sure, consuming it will kill 99% of those who attempt, but the lucky 1% will come out of the experience with their entire dna changed, it's like being cleansed by fire except worse and the results more dramatic. if the 7th division loses in the fight that comes it just means that they passed the opportunity to eat usami and acquire radioactive powers

I think there's also something to be said about highly processed foods, specially in the US, that have so much added sugar and salt that they taste completely wrong to people on organic diets or from other countries.
Many, many people I know that have spent time in the US complain that everything is sweet, bread is sweet, pizza is sweet, they feel sick after a few days even cus it's so so different. When you grow up and live your whole life eating artificially sweetened everything, it must wreck your taste buds. It's probably why Americans lose so often lose their shits when eating abroad, cus food... tastes like food.
I feel like very often when people complain about foods not having flavors its actually just that they’ve so burnt out their sense of taste on salt and sugar that they have no frame of reference anymore
and this is not a question of seasoning, or being hyperbolic (”this has no flavor” to indicate it has inadequate preparation)
this means like when people say everything tastes like chicken, or that celery has no flavor, because no? chicken tastes like chicken, and celery has a very distinct flavor. like honestly take a few weeks to just cut back on the salt and sugar and you’ll find that a lot of food tastes very differently than you remember

One of our favorite tasks each spring is developing the menus for Barbecue University, the incredible hands-on program Steven founded over fifteen years ago to share his grilling and barbecue expertise.
