Matters of Fact
CW: Mentions of death, mentions of mind-altering drug use, manipulation.
The Arkham Knight knows what he is, until he doesn't ~1.2k words
Tumblr media
The Arkham Knight is a bad person. He knows this. Knows it even as he slips under the covers of your bed. Knows it when he leaves grime and dirt tracked across your windowsill and the floor of your room.
The Arkham Knight is cruel. He knows this when he leaves after you ask him to stay. Knows this when he disappears for days on end to plan his revenge, to train his men.
Knows it when he makes you cry and beg for someone he isn't.
The Arkham Knight is twisted. He knows this when he kills the man who gave you his number. He knows it when he holds you close and consoles you, tells you that guy wasn't worth dating anyway.
Knows it when he tells you that you don't need anyone but him.
The Arkham Knight is obsessed. He knows this because he dreams of the way your lips feel against his skin, the way your fingers thread through his hair, the way your pulse flutters against his hand.
He knows this because he can't seem to leave you alone, even if it would be better for you, and for him.
The Arkham Knight is a liar. He knows this when he tells you Bruce is going to keep him from seeing you. That his enemies will hunt you down, hurt you to get to him. That it's safer, to be tucked away in his base with him.
The Arkham Knight is mean. He knows this when you yell at him over his men stopping you from leaving his base. He knows it when he yells right back, when he grins wickedly as you snap at him in return.
Knows it when you don't shy away as he stalks towards you, tugging off his helmet and grabbing the back of your neck to pull you into a bruising kiss.
Knows it when you slam your fist against the plates of his armor before kissing him right back.
The Arkham Knight is sick, knows it when he slips a fine powder into your drink the night he takes over Gotham. It's nothing that'll hurt you, at least, that's what he tells himself.
The drug only makes you happy, relaxed, more compliant when he drags you from safe house to safe house without explanation.
The Arkham Knight is a mess. He knows this because he's not exactly the Arkham Knight anymore. His symbol torn from his chest, his helmet no longer blue but a bloody red. He knows this because he's crying.
He knows this because he's on his knees in front of you, and you look like you don't if you're going to hit him or hug him.
He knows he deserves to be hit. But he so desperately wants you to hug him. You don't do either. You kiss him. His heart is in his throat. He thinks maybe there's a chance for him.
He's not sure what that chance is. Maybe it's to be good. To be better. To really be with you.
But then you say goodbye. Then you break his heart. Then you leave.
He knows he deserves it for what he's done.
Red Hood knows he isn't good. He's not completely bad, but he's definitely not good. He knows this because people flinch when he saves them. He knows this because there's a trail of bodies in his wake.
But he also knows every single one of them deserved it. He thinks maybe that does make him evil.
Red Hood aches for you. He knows this because he finds himself following the familiar path to your apartment before catching himself.
He knows this because he still dreams of you curled at his side, your mouth pressing kisses to his jaw, your fingers tracing the lines of his back.
Red Hood is a shell of a man. He knows this because he goes back to his dirty, disrepaired apartment, and all he sees is gray.
He knows this because his days and nights are robotic, driven only by the mission. The hole that the death of Batman left in Gotham.
Red Hood is weak. He knows this because he opened the door when you came to his apartment. He knows this because he let you sleep on his bed while he stayed on the couch, unable to rest knowing you're so close but so far from him.
Red Hood is in love with you. He knows this because he'd do anything you asked, and everything you won't.
He knows this because when you break down in the morning over breakfast, when you finally tell him why you came to him, he tugs you to his chest and lets you cry.
Red Hood has no mercy. He knows this because he takes his time killing the man who frightened you. He knows this because he doesn't react to the begging, the screams, the terror in his eyes.
He only feels a sick sense of satisfaction, knowing you won't have to be scared of that disgusting creep ever again.
Jason Todd is dumbfounded by you. You keep showing up at his apartment door. He keeps letting you in, as if he could ever turn you away. You keep making him meals, filling his fridge, adding your things to his apartment.
There's throw pillows and blankets on his couch with your favorite colors. Your favorite movie is paused on the TV. You sleep in his bed more often than not, even if he never joins you.
Jason Todd has no idea how to treat you. He's only even made mistakes with you, only ever done things that should terrify you and drive you away.
But you keep coming back, even after the body of the man who hurt you was found by the police.
Jason Todd wants to be good, at least for you. So he tries. He knows he isn't great at words, but he tries to soften his voice. He knows his touch is rough, so he tries to be still and gentle when you lean into his side.
He knows he's scary looking, so he tries to be smaller when you're around. He knows what he does is dangerous, so he sets up even better security in his apartment, and with permission, yours.
He knows there's something wrong with him, so he reminds you not to hang around him so much.
He doesn't know why you don't listen. Doesn't know why you kiss his cheek, why you start to lead him from the couch to sleep next to you in his bed.
He doesn't know why you sleep curled at his side, on his chest, a leg thrown over his thigh. He knows a lot of things, knows a lot about you.
But does he understand why you kiss his scars and nuzzle his shoulder?
No. Absolutely not. But he doesn't think he needs to. Not when you tell him you'd like to sell your apartment. Not when he gets to help you move the last of your things to his your shared bedroom.
Not when he knows he loves you. Not when you say you love him. Not when he knows it's true.

AK! Jason Todd x Vigilante! Reader (pt. 1)
Tumblr media
{Lots of setting up for the story. Fighting. Backstory. lol} wc: 785 Synopsis: You're a vigilante siding with Batman, currently on a mission to assist in finding the identity of the Arkham Knight. Amidst the events of the Fear City plan conducted by the Arkham Knight and Scarecrow, you find yourself being taken hostage by the Knight himself. Though he seems oddly gentle...and familiar...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Y/N) leaps from building to building, grappling her way across Gotham in homes of finding a lead to the Arkham Knight. She was determined to find something, anything. Not only could Bruce not get any leads as to his identity, but neither could Lucius and Alfred. And Barbara was kidnapped by the Knight...so of course that meant she couldn't help. Barbara. (Y/N)'s friend. (Y/N) shudders as she tries to block out what horrible things could be done to her. She stayed focused as she moves.
"I'm closer...I have to be...", (Y/N) mutters to herself as she looks down at the tank drones. The Knight must be nearby, if this area is so important to protect. "What are you hiding....who are you...", (Y/N) mutters as she thinks of the next part of her plan.
"Don't sound too sure...", a robotic voice states behind (Y/N).
She immediately whips her head around and stands up straight. There he was, the Knight. (Y/N) takes out her weapons, two kunai, one in each hand.
"Easy...not that you'd put up much anyways...", the Knight taunts as he slowly steps forward, "What are you anyways...a wannabe vigilante? A little kid hoping to get in the game? Hm...Deathkiss?"
(Y/N) furrows her brows at this. She's the vigilante Deathkiss to others, but to the Knight it feels that he sees her as a joke. It takes her back to old memories. (Y/N) was a poor Gotham kid on the street...no one to help her but one person. Her only friend, Jason Todd. (Y/N) is smart, capable, but too sweet for her own good. Jason is kind, and is willing to use his kindness to fight for those he cares about. That meant her.
When Bruce took them in it was only Jason who trained to be a vigilante, Robin. (Y/N) hung back. Jason tried to get her to show interest in being a vigilante as well.
"You could be something intimidating but sweet...maybe like Deathkiss or something...", he told her one night as they stargazed on the roof of Wayne manor.
(Y/N) didn't take up the vigilante life until Jason was kidnapped by the Joker...and killed. She swore she'd avenge him somehow, and that she'd protect other's from horrible fates that villians may lead them too. All under the name her best friend chose...Deathkiss.
(Y/N) can't speak as she stares the Knight down. Her thoughts of Jason affecting her. Amidst the silence, she takes her chance. She dashed to the Knight, grunting as she sweep kicks at his feet. She then throws a punch at the chin, hoping to stun him slightly.
The Knight dodges skillfully, grabbing Deathkiss's fist. He's quick, skilled.
"So he did teach you. Batman taught you how to fight.", the Knight says as he grabs Deathkiss's other wrist, "I know all the tricks. And I know you won't last in a fight with me. You're weak. You don't wanna fight...", he taunts.
"Don't tell me what I want!" Deathkiss retorts as she lifts her legs, kicking off of the Knight and backflipping away, landing on her feet yet low to the ground.
"You've learned a bit haven't you? I'm surprised...", the Knight says in his usual calm, almost cocky voice. "Maybe you could take out my men...but not me...and I don't feel like dancing this dance for long."
With a swift motion, the Knight dashes forward and takes hold of Deathkiss.
"Let go!", she calls out.
"Sorry sweetheart.", the Knight says without even feigning pity. He grabs her by the waist with one arm, his hands clinging to her side. With his other hand, he places pressure on a specific area of her neck.
"No-"
Everything fades to black. Her body goes limp as she's placed in a deep sleep.
The Knight gently placed Deathkiss in his arms. Holding her bridal style. He looks down at her. There she is. (Y/N). His best friend. His first love. His...everything. Then came the dilemma.
He knew he shouldn't have kidnapped her. This wasn't part of the plan. This wasn't like kidnapping Barbara, to get to Bruce. This was selfish, all for him. He just...missed her.
But she's a vigilante, working with Batman. What would she think when she woke up? Would she look at him with those kind eyes, and admire him like she did before his death? Not only is Jason a dead man walking...but he's a threat to Gotham and Bruce.
He pushed these thoughts aside and shook his head as he takes her to his base. Safe...with him.

✨Axel's Ultimate Batman Video Game Play Guide and Reviews
You guys seemed to enjoy the previous version of this I did with all the Batman Animated shows, and now that I'm done with all the Batman games I thought I'd post my thoughts on those too! I decided to do this one in just like. Regular text format. Bc I didn't feel like editing all these into images like I did for the last one. So uhhh lemme know which format you prefer lol.
Anyways, please enjoy my comprehensive thoughts and feelings on (almost) every modern Batman game, five months in the making because I have no life. Enjoy!
🦇
Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009)
My Personal Rating: 7/10
My Total Hours Played: 17.1
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (96%)
Description: The first game in the Batman Arkham Series. Based off the iconic Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth comic from 1989 (aka the only good thing Grant Morrison has ever produced in his entire feeble life). The inmates at Arkham Asylum have begun a violent riot, and as Batman goes through the hospital to stop them, he uncovers a sinister conspiracy involving his greatest enemies.
Play If You're Looking For: An intro to the Arkham Series, a very different interpretation of Arkham Asylum compared to other versions of Batman, and some really dark aesthetics. Also, this isn't explicitly canon, but according to this series’ timeline, this game takes place in the space between Jason's death and Tim’s arrival, so if you're interested in a very dark, brooding, traumatized Bruce, playing this game with that information changes it a lot.
Things I Liked:
Genuinely really scary
Incredible atmosphere
Both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil are featured in their iconic roles
Really well written
Birthed a bunch of really iconic Batman memes (go to the r/Arkham subreddit, it's so funny unfortunately) (OFFICER BALLS.)
This was actually my introduction to Oracle and I love her more than anything in these games
Things I Didn't Like:
The graphics aren't fantastic but to be fair it was 2009 so
THE FUCKING BANE BOSS FIGHT. GOD. FUCK YOU BANE. THAT SHIT TOOK ME SO LONG.
The Killer Croc boss fight wasn't super difficult but it was so scary that I cried the first time I played it so. Keep that in mind.
Batman: Arkham City (2011)
My Personal Rating: 9/10
My Total Hours Played: 27.5
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (95%)
Description: The second game in the Batman Arkham Series. After the riot at Arkham Asylum, Sharpton ascends to the mayor's office and cuts off about 6.4 acres of Gotham as ‘Arkham City’; a walled off portion of the city where crime runs rampant and mostly untethered.
Play If You're Looking For: Agonizing Brutalia angst, a fight with pretty much every Batman villain who's ever existed (except for Scarecrow but that's for AK), a tiny sprinkle of Brucie Wayne right at the beginning, and an INCREDIBLE story that is generally agreed to be the best in the series.
Things I Liked:
TONS of collectibles
Taliaaaaa my angelllll <<3
The side missions are really great
If you get the DLC, there's a special game section focused around Harley where you play as Tim’s Robin and it's super fun
The story is just. My god. It's so good. It's SO good.
The map is massive and there's so much to do, I was still playing weeks after I finished the story
Things I Didn't Like:
As much as I loved the collectibles there's like over 400 of them in the game and I couldn't get all of them and it still pisses me off
You have to play as Selina a few times in order to progress and she's like super weak compared to Bruce (not in a misogynistic way on my part I mean like she genuinely dies after like two good hits) and her dialogue annoys tf out of me. Sorry I'm a hater.
Batman: Arkham Origins (2013)
My Personal Rating: 9/10
My Total Hours Played: 27.2
Steam Rating: Very Positive (89%)
Description: The third game in the Batman Arkham Series– but this one is a prequel! I actually played this one after Arkham Knight but. Shhh. Anyways, this game is based loosely off the world presented in the Batman: Year One comics, and follows a younger Bruce in his early days as Batman, including the origins (lol) to many of his greatest enemies as they try to hunt him down, with their efforts spearheaded by a certain someone behind the scenes. Also it's Christmas!
Play If You're Looking For: Little baby angsty Bruce being a problem child, a game where you get to punch cops, and tiny tiny tiny baby Babs being adorable (she's like twelve and she's so cute).
Things I Liked:
I don't usually care about the soundtracks for video games but. FUCK the music is good. It's all based on Christmas/Nutcracker music and it's really really cool
This game genuinely helped me get over a lot of really deeply ingrained trauma surrounding Christmas /gen
Fun little Mad Hatter side mission!
Batman and Riddler argue like teenage boys (because they are)
Alfred and Bruce's relationship has some genuinely really beautiful characterization in this and their arch is really enjoyable
Things I Didn't Like:
FUCKING. BANE. HE HAS LIKE THREE SEPARATE BOSS FIGHTS AND THEY'RE ALL SO HARD AND SCARY AND AND AND AHHHH
The graphics are a little iffy but to be fair my view was skewed bc I played this right after finishing Arkham Knight
Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)
My Personal Rating: 8.5/10
My Total Hours Played: 47.9
Steam Rating: Very Positive (91%)
Description: The fourth and (kind of) final installment of the Batman Arkham Series (not counting Arkham Shadow because idgaf). Scarecrow is back, and threatening Gotham with a new fear toxin compound, resulting in a mass evacuation… but something else is going on here too, and Batman has a new enemy who may be his most dangerous yet.
Play If You're Looking For: agony, pain, suffering, nightmares, tears, emotional exhaustion, etc.
Things I Liked:
Really well written story (it's just really traumatizing)
Some of the most beautiful graphics in any video game like. Ever.
The DLC suits are SO COOL, you can play as Flashpoint Batman….
Really really great fighting mechanics that make combat actually really enjoyable even though that's not really what I'm here for
Amazing side missions; there's basically a side mission for every mechanic in the game, so whatever your favorite part is there's a little section where that's pretty much all you do
Things I Didn't Like:
This game took me WEEKS to get through because the story is so painful it was genuinely not fun half the time
The ending isn't very satisfying (to me)
You know the concept of the “all is lost moment” in story telling? Yeah, this game’s “all is lost moment” is like 80% of the game. Everything is lost like. Most of the time.
Oh we're just not gonna talk about Talia. After all that shit in Arkham City. Okay. Cool.
Selina is so annoying in this game, there's this whole side mission that's basically just her and it's really irritating
FUCK YOU EDWARD NYGMA THAT DRIVING COURSE WAS BULLSHIT AND I COULDN'T GET THROUGH IT NO MATTER HOW HARD I FUCKING TRIED
I actually just kinda hate driving games generally and there's a LOT of driving in this game but you get used to it eventually and it becomes easier
Gotham Knights (2022)
My Personal Rating: 10/10
My Total Hours Played: 46.9
Steam Rating: Mixed (68%)
Description: Batman is dead, leaving Dick, Jason, Barbara, Tim, and Alfred to pick up the pieces and finish what he started.
Play If You're Looking For: Batfam content, a perfect mix of “holy shit I haven't cried this hard in years” and “this is the funniest thing anyone has ever produced ever, goofy dialogue and one liners, and casual queer rep.
Things I Liked:
The map is HUGE and genuinely feels so unbelievably alive in a way that I don't think any other Batman game even comes close to in its depiction of Gotham– like I could write ESSAYS about how well this game captures the experience of living in a big city like Gotham (let me know if you want me to make a post about that actually lol)
Collectibles that are actually reasonable and fun
Super fun side missions
Absolutely gorgeous graphics
The characters can emote and all the Batkids have their own dance moves :( and Jason dances like he's 70 years old it's really cute :(
Even after completing everything in the entire story it's STILL fun to go patrolling because it keeps generating new crimes– premeditated or otherwise– for you to fight and it's really fun
The Batkids have a pride flag in their house ☹️ and Dick has a bi flag mug ☹️
Things I Didn't Like:
Literally everyone hates this game for NO FUCKING REASON it's genuinely fantastic you guys are just losers
Talia is unfortunately characterized kinda shitty and it makes me sad bc her design is incredible but she does some OOC stuff :(
You can customize your suit but not as extensively as I would've liked
This game gets kinda hard to play at points because it's really hard to see your screen through all the tears (cough cough the last boss fight cough cough)
Batman: The Telltale Series (2016)
My Personal Rating: 5.7/10
My Total Hours Played: 9.1
Steam Rating: Very Positive (86%)
Description: A 5 episode point-and-click adventure following Bruce Wayne as he faces some of his biggest challenges, both as Bruce and as Batman.
Play If You're Looking For: Minimal combat and story-centered gameplay.
Things I Liked:
I love love love the character designs in this game, this is actually one of my favorite versions of Bruce possibly ever
You get a lot of opportunities to make Bruce and Selina kiss in this game and I said no every single time and it was very gratifying for me
Alfred and Bruce have an incredibly sweet father-son relationship (if you play your cards right, anyway) and it makes me really emotional because Bruce literally loses EVERYTHING over the course of this game and Alfred is there at his side the whole time
The ending was really satisfying overall and actually made me enjoy the game a lot more
Things I Didn't Like:
Chapters 2-4 are INCREDIBLY stressful, especially for me because A) there's an involuntary psych ward commitment and B) there are a lot of themes around the Wayne's developing a bad reputation and being hated, which are massively triggering for me personally and because I don't have the spoons to play through the whole thing at once I had to sit in that stress for a while before it concluded in-game
Batman: The Enemy Within (2017)
My Personal Rating: 4/10
My Total Hours Played: 10.2
Steam Rating: Very Positive (91%)
Description: The sequel to “Batman: The Telltale Series”. John Doe is let out of Arkham and seeks to take you up on that favor you promised him.
Play If You're Looking For: BatJokes, Angst, and a lot of “Is Batman Good For Gotham?” Stuff.
Things I Liked:
The opening chapter with Mori was kinda fun
I think Amanda Waller was written pretty well overall
Things I Didn't Like:
Fucking any of it lowkey 😭
Same as the other Telltale game tbh
For me, it was emotionally exhausting and really upsetting, but that's just kinda because I HATEEEE the “impossible choice” trope in any almost any media, I just never enjoy it, and there's a LOT of it in here
The ending made me wanna kms because there's literally no good option here what the fuck
Like I get that's the whole point but. Okay what if I kms what then.

Finally playing Batman: Arkham Knight now that I got my PC fixed up (started a few months back but then the RAM thing happened).
There’s this moment in the story that I am not entirely a fan of but because the Arkham games are basically linear stories with free roaming action stuff in-between I understand that there was only one way this key choice they ask you to make could have gone.
Not quite a fan of being given a seemingly crucial choice when it’d be more interesting to play the choice out. May as well have been a cutscene rather than give us a decision to make otherwise.
I’m talking about this moment where Batman is infected with a Joker virus and also he’s hopped up on residual Scarecrow gas, so he has a chance to lock himself up and let Tim Drake handle an encroaching army of enemies.
But of course because of the Bat’s guilt he is reluctant to do it. But he is too dangerous and it would make sense to have him stay in quarantine and let Tim and Dick handle the city. I choose to go inside.
The trick here is that if you do go into quarantine, it’s a hallucination (you get those frequently throughout the game). I tried it twice. Basically the game is forcing you to lock up Tim instead. Which, makes sense given Batman’s current guilt complex for legitimate reasons. You know, make sure he doesn’t put his third son into a dangerous situation, especially since he’s been hallucinating Jason’s death.
But uh, actually I did want that lockup to happen, it’s literally the most sensible course of action.
I understand that this is Batman’s game, but there have been a lot of moments where you just play as Catwoman or Nightwing, and we just went through a course where we played as Robin.
Wouldn’t it have been an interesting choice to diverge the story just a little bit? Like, you choose to be locked up, and then you play Tim for, like, two missions and then either return to Batman or Batman breaks himself out after the guilt becomes too much for him?
Like, it would be an ultimately meaningless choice for the sake of the overall narrative but for that brief moment it would’ve been cool to let it play out.
Also on a side note can we talk about how they massacred my boy for a brief second, what on earth is going on with Tim Drake’s design? When I saw I could change to something a little more colorful and a little less buzzcut I was relieved. I understand that these games were going for a more grizzled “realistic” so we were never going to get fun choices like DCAU Nightwing’s long hair (even though I prefer it). But what is with this hunched over broody pose they give Tim with the buzzcut? He’s supposed to be the genius Robin not the Call of Duty Robin, give him a smile.

Pawns of the Past: A RiddleCat love story
Chapter 1
Summary: Set six months after the fall of the Justice League, thanks to the Suicide Squad, and five years after Arkham Knight, Riddler tracks down Catwoman, who’s been living far from Gotham, determined to reclaim the money she stole from him. Their tense confrontation takes an unexpected turn as old sparks reignite. What begins as a mission of revenge slowly evolves into a complicated romance, forcing both Selina and Eddie to confront their feelings, their pasts, and the possibility of a future neither expected.
I’m beyond excited to finally share the project I’ve been working on with the incredible @adhdnursegoat! This is our very first RiddleCat fic, and we’re so thrilled to bring it to life today. 💜💚
Also, a very Happy Birthday to the amazing @wingedqueenlynx! We thought today would be the perfect day to premiere our fic. We hope your special day is filled with joy!🎂🎈

There are people from your past who never truly disappear. Even when they’re not in your immediate orbit, their presence lingers like a phantom—a constant reminder of what was, what could have been, or what went wrong. Very few people leave a lasting impression on him. Batman, naturally. Commissioner Jim Gordon. And then, there’s Selina Kyle—Catwoman.
She has always been there, someone oddly placed in his life. Their relationship isn’t straightforward. It never was. But it isn’t like the others, either. She isn’t an enemy in the conventional sense, nor an ally. She exists in the gray, just as she always does. Both unpredictable and reliable in her own way, and that’s what makes her stand out. She was never fully committed to either side, but she leaves a mark, a lingering taste of chaos and allure in his life.
The new him, the version that exists after everything fell apart, can admit that he kind of had it coming. He should have known better. He should have never captured her. It was a miscalculation, one he wouldn’t have made if his judgment hadn’t been clouded. But at the time, he was too caught up in his own web of narcissism, pride, and arrogance.
He had thought he was untouchable, intellectually superior, always a step ahead of everyone—including Selina. He underestimated her. He always did. She wasn’t just some thief to manipulate, just another pawn in one of his grand schemes. No, Selina was different. And in his blindness, he didn’t see that. He captured her, placed her in one of his elaborate death traps, assuming she would be just another piece in his game against the Bat.
But she kicked his ass.
And now, years later, with the benefit of hindsight and a bruised ego, he’s man enough to admit it. She got the better of him. She outwitted him. It wasn’t just a fluke; it was a wake-up call. And perhaps, in a strange way, he respects her even more for it. She wasn’t someone to be underestimated or reduced to a mere obstacle.
But that doesn’t mean she has gotten off scot-free.
Even now, after the dust has settled and Gotham has changed, she is always there—like an echo. The memory of her, the feeling of unfinished business, gnaws at him. Selina never disappears entirely from his thoughts. He can admit her strength, her cleverness, but that doesn’t erase the fact that there is a score to settle.
Yes, she defeated him once. Yes, she exposed his hubris and made him confront his fallibility. But he isn’t done with her.
Riddler, the ever-proud Edward Nigma, still feels the sting of his defeat at her hands. And that sting fuels a quiet determination. He’s learned from the encounter. The new him isn’t blinded by arrogance anymore. He’s calculated, deliberate, and methodical. He may admit that she got the better of him once, but he won’t allow that to be the end of their story.
She owes him. She stole from him. He can handle the bruised ego, the physical pain from the ass-whooping, but the money? The loss of his fortune stung worse than the sting of her claws or the sharp crack of her whip. For Edward Nigma, it wasn’t about the violence. It was about the humiliation, the blow to his carefully constructed sense of superiority. Selina Kyle didn’t just beat him physically—she outwitted him, left him scrambling in the rubble of his own failure.
That night was the beginning of his ruin.
Well, after weeks of meticulous tracking, he's finally less than a mile away from the infamous Catwoman. Five long years have passed since the night she stole every cent he had in his accounts, and blew up his prized robot factory, leaving him not only penniless but utterly humiliated. For someone like Edward, whose pride and identity are rooted in his genius, it was an unforgivable offense.
Over the years, he’s plotted his revenge. His mind, sharp as ever, has concocted a hundred different ways to make her pay. He could have easily ended it in bloodshed, an elaborate trap leading to a satisfying, fatal conclusion. But somewhere along the line, his anger cooled, and something else replaced it—pragmatism. He realizes there is more to gain from Selina alive than dead, and more importantly, he’s learned a thing or two about humility. Besides, his recent experience with bombs has given him an uncomfortable empathy for what he put her through.
He remembers that night well, that Halloween when everything between them fractured. He had placed an explosive device on her, an unforgivable betrayal of whatever shaky trust had once existed between them. Their relationship had always been a tightrope walk—sometimes adversarial, sometimes friendly, sometimes… more. But that night, he crossed a line, and she responded in kind.
Years later, Edward thinks back to his freelance work with the Suicide Squad. Watching those miniature bombs being injected into people’s heads, seeing the terror on their faces as they realized their lives could be ended at the push of a button… it had shaken even him. He remembers seeing men and women reduced to quivering wrecks, their dignity stripped away by the fear of instant annihilation. The memory still lingers in the back of his mind like a bad aftertaste, making him realize just how monstrous his actions had been.
It gives him a new perspective on what he did to her. He understands now, in a way he hadn’t before, the violation of it. The fear she must have felt, knowing that he had that kind of power over her. It was a level of cruelty even he hadn't fully appreciated at the time.
So now, after all the years of anger and plotting, he’s decided to take a different approach. He doesn’t want to kill her, and he doesn’t need to break her spirit. Instead, he’s resolved to do something that surprises even him. He’s going to ask for his money back.
It sounds ridiculous on the surface, even laughable, but Edward has never been one to shy away from the absurd. He’s long since learned that the simplest solutions are often the most effective, and at this point, he’s willing to swallow his pride to get what’s owed to him. And really, given what he did to her, he has to admit, asking for the money is a fair conclusion. It’s almost reasonable, considering their history.
A part of him feels smug about it. After all, it takes a genius to come up with a solution this simple.
As he closes the distance between them, less than a mile now, Edward finds himself more curious than angry. What has Selina been up to all these years? Has she been running from him, or did she forget he ever existed? The latter would be worse. He’s not sure he can stomach the idea that she’s moved on, while he’s been obsessing over her betrayal, over the money, over that look on her face when she realized what he’d done to her. He wonders if she thinks about that night, or if he’s just another ghost from her past she left behind.
He doesn’t expect an apology. Selina doesn’t do apologies. But he’s ready for a confrontation. Maybe she’ll laugh in his face, or maybe she’ll try to fight him again. But either way, Edward is ready for her. He’s different now. He’s not the same arrogant fool she humiliated five years ago. He’s learned patience, a hard-earned lesson in the art of revenge.
This time, it’s not about winning. It’s about closure. About moving on from this chapter of his life.
But a part of him knows—deep down—Selina Kyle is not someone you just walk away from. She’s always been a wild card in his life, an unpredictable force. Whatever happens when they meet, it won’t be simple. It never is with her.
And perhaps, after all these years, he’s finally ready to embrace that.
This time will be different. This time, when their paths cross again, he’ll be ready for her. There will be no missteps, no underestimating her abilities. She might have thought she got away clean, but the truth is, he always comes back. That’s his nature. He doesn’t let things go, not when there’s a puzzle still left unsolved, and Selina Kyle is one of the most intricate puzzles of all.
She’s not just a reminder of his past mistakes—she’s something more. Selina is both a rival and something else entirely. The tension between them, the way they constantly dance around one another, never truly on opposite sides but never aligned, has always been part of the pull. Their dynamic is a game of its own, one he is determined to master.
But for now, she remains untouchable, a ghost in his past that lingers, taunting him with the memory of defeat and the promise of another chance. And when that chance comes, he’ll make sure he doesn’t fall prey to the same weaknesses.
This isn’t over. It’s never really over with Selina Kyle.
Granted, he never truly intends to kill her—or at least that's what he tells himself to feel better about it now. But deep down, he knows he'll have to tread lightly, or that lingering resentment might surface.
Arriving at a secluded plantation nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Sevierville, Tennessee, Riddler has to admit—it’s the perfect place to disappear off the grid. With the sunset set to dip below the horizon in the next hour, he slips into the thick brush about half a mile from the house and quietly spies on her. He needs to be certain she’s not only home alone but also that there isn’t any high-end security in place that could potentially put his life in danger.
She’s pretty smart, and that’s one of the things he likes about her. As he opens his backpack to pull out his homemade binoculars, chatter starts buzzing in his earpiece. The Suicide Squad—they always know how to ruin his train of thought.
"Are we finally rid of that Riddler? We haven't heard a peep from him in weeks. Ahh, maybe someone finally did the job!" Harley Quinn chimes in, her voice gleeful over the comms.
"Damn it! Someone beat me to it—I already had my plans all drawn up," Captain Boomerang grumbles, clearly disappointed.
"Saved me several bullets," Deadshot adds darkly, his tone as cold as ever.
"I'M NOT DEAD, you annoying parasites! I'm on a business trip, if you must know!" Riddler shouts, his voice booming through the comms. "Trust me, you'll get your fill of my beautiful riddles soon enough when I return!"
Riddler smiles smugly after his outburst, thinking he’s won this round.
"Well, shit, you spoke too soon, mate!" Boomerang quips with a laugh.
Rolling his eyes, Riddler turns down the volume on his earpiece, focusing back on the task at hand. He raises his binoculars, scanning the area to see what he’s up against.
"What kind of 'business trip' are you on, anyway? We all know nobody would hire you! You practically beg Waller to let you set up challenges for us, like the attention-seeking loser you are!" Harley cackles through the comms, her laughter ringing in his ears.
"Let’s just say I’m visiting an old friend to collect an investment they’ve been holding onto for quite a few years," Riddler replies coolly, still peering through his binoculars as he speaks into the earpiece.
"Oh, paying Catwoman a visit, eh, mate? I’d pay to see her kick your ass!" Boomerang’s smirk is practically audible.
"She’ll probably claw his eyes out before he even realizes he’s getting his ass kicked," King Shark finally chimes in, his deep voice rumbling through the comms.
Edward is starting to realize that this must be how Batman felt whenever he interrupted him with a random riddle after one of his challenges. The constant chatter, the distractions—it is almost poetic.
He loses his train of thought the moment he finally catches sight of her on the second story of her house. Slowly zooming in, he starts to take in more details.
The years have been kind to her—she still looks as attractive as ever. The subtle sway of her hips as she moves around the room ignites old feelings he thought he had buried. But, who is he kidding? He’s always found her stunning, and nothing has changed. There is a timeless quality about her, an allure than seems to transcend the years and the chaos that often enveloped their lives.
She hasn’t changed much over the years, except for one noticeable feature. "She grew her hair out again... just like she did in Rome all those years ago." A slow smile spreads across Riddler's face as memories of that heist flood his mind. He can hardly believe it’s been ten years since they pulled off that audacious caper together, a whirlwind of adrenaline and shared glances.
Edward remember the was her hair cascaded down her shoulders then, an inky curtain framing her face, just as it does now.
They had been a formidable duo, feeding off each other’s wit and daring, pushing boundaries together in a dance that was exhilarating and perilous. That time in Rome was more than just a heist; it was a moment in time where everything felt possible. A moment where they were united in a shared goal, and their banter felt electric. They were a team, partners in crime and mischief, driven by a shared thrill.
"Whoa, whoa—what happened in Rome!?" Boomerang’s voice suddenly cuts through his thoughts, dragging him back from the precipice of nostalgia. Riddler blinks, realizing he’s forgotten to mute his comms.
"Oh, that’s where they made out on a ship!" Harley teases, her voice dripping with mischief. Riddler clenches his jaw, fighting the impulse to launch into a tirade of about the ridiculousness of her assumption.
Only Harley’s statement is true…
"WHAT?!" all three men shout in unison.
Frustrated, Riddler lowers his binoculars, glaring at nothing in particular. "We did NOT make out," he snaps, the heat of indignation creeping into his voice. "We just... kissed. A bunch of times." He waves his hand dismissively at nothing in particular, struggling to find a better way to describe it—even though it’s not entirely true.
"Yeah, in her underwear!" Harley adds, piling on the mischief. The mental image she conjures is embarrassing, blurring the line between memory ad fantasy, and he grimaces, a heat creeping up his collar.
The silence that follows over the comms is deafening, each second stretching out as he feels the weight of their collective surprise and judgment. Riddler feels his frustration rise to the point where he nearly crushes his earpiece in his hand, his mind swirling with indignation and bashfulness. How did he end up here, with his past on display, under scrutiny from this absurd group?
"Well, damn, Nigma," Boomerang finally breaks the tension, "you’ve got some game after all." Riddler can hear the smirk in his voice and it makes him frown, irking him more than he would care to admit.
"What game is he playing?" King Shark chimes in, sounding genuinely confused.
"The game where he’s not just a lonely loser after all," Boomerang quips, clearly reveling in Riddler’s discomfort. "No wonder you want to pay her a visit—you’re hoping to score some more 'points,' aren’t you, mate?"
"This sounds like a fun game! Can King Shark play?" King Shark asks, his confusion genuine.
"This is not a game! That was a long time ago!" Riddler snaps, bringing his binoculars back to his eyes. "I’m just here to take what’s rightfully m—" But his thoughts freeze at the sight before him.
Selina is now completely naked, her silhouette framed by the soft glow of her home, the casual confidence with which she moves, leaving him momentarily dumbstruck. He has no words, and his face grows hot.
He swallows hard, his mouth hanging open like a fish gasping for air, desperate to find something to say but utterly speechless. Never in his life has he seen anyone so... well, voluptuous. The sight is captivating, a vision that both ignites a primal instinct within him and remains him of boundaries they had once navigated together. His heart pounds in his chest as if it’s about to burst, echoing the rush of adrenaline through his veins.
He hasn’t felt this surge of male instinct in what feels like forever. The years of calculated control he had imposed upon himself start to unravel as memories of her linger. As he tries to regain his composure, his mind races with thoughts that seem both inappropriate and entirely avoidable. He knows he should look away, to respect her privacy, but the sight of her unabashedly beautiful has stolen his executive functions.
"He probably just saw her naked. That’s what shut him up," Harley teases, her laughter ringing out through the comms.
Harley’s words are like a jolt to his system, snapping him out of the trance Selina had him in. He quickly lowers the binoculars, turning his face away, fighting the overwhelming urge to sneak another peek. He reminds himself—he’s trying to be a gentleman, not a creep.
But that image of her will stay with him for the rest of his life—after all, he has a photographic memory. He remembers everything. Every detail of her is etches into his mind: the way the light dances across her skin, the curve of her body, the confidence she exudes so effortlessly. It is overwhelming, an image that feels both sacred and illicit.
As much as he tries to push it out of his mind, the memories of that kiss they shared years ago flicker in his mind’s eye, resurfacing with a clarity that both excites and unnerves him. The endearing scent of her perfume - the was it had enveloped him, sweet and intoxicating, drawing him closer as they had learned into one another.
He recalls the smooth touch of her silk underwear against his fingertips, the way it had felt against his skin, so stark to his mechanical world. That single moment of intimacy has been a revelation, a glimpse into a connection that had always simmered just beneath the surface.
And then there was the sweet taste of her lips, something intoxicating that he felt only Poison Ivy was capable of possessing. But Selina’s kiss was venomous in its own right - addictive, unforgettable. He remembers how time seemed to stop, how the world around them faded - a fleeting escape from the chaos around them.
Riddler’s thoughts spiral, his focused split between chasing her image and trying to respond to the team . He feels the heat of embarrassment creeping into his cheeks, even in the anonymity of his surroundings. He has always prided himself on his intellect, his ability to compartmenatlize his emotions and desires, yet here he is, undone by a memory of a kiss and the sight of a nude woman. Is it infuriating, yet the frustration is laced with a begrudging admiration for Selina.
"He totally just saw her naked, no doubt," Deadshot chimes in, clearly amused.
"Wow, Nigma, a peeping Tom, huh? Didn’t know you had it in you," Boomerang adds, laughing along.
“Ooo, tell me, does she have big boobs? Is this part of the game you’re playing?” King Shark asks, sounding genuinely curious.
“SHUT UP!” Riddler barks, taking a deep breath to steady himself before slowly exhaling. “I am not a creep, and I’m not here to rekindle anything with her. I’m just here to get my money back—for the last time! You’d better start studying because when I return, the challenges I create will be so mind-numbing none of you will be able to function properly.”
“Oh yeah, Nigma, we’re so terrified over here,” Harley teases, clearly enjoying the rise she’s getting out of him. “And let me know how your first time goes!” she adds with a mischievous laugh, igniting a spark of annoyance in Riddler.
“Aaahhh!” he screams, yanking the earpiece out and stuffing it into his bag, with a forceful huff, desperate to block out their voices once and for all. The chatter of the team feels like a cacophony, each jibe more irritating than the last. He knows they are having fun, and it feels like a tidal wave of judgment crashing down on him, drowning out any sense of focus he had managed to muster.
“Mmm,” he smirks to himself, “joke’s on her—I’m not even a virgin.” He says it proudly, but then the reality sinks in; it’s been years since he’s even touched a woman. The rush of bravado dissipates, replaced by an uncomfortable awareness of the truth: he hasn’t had any meaningful physical connection in ages. Come to think of it, that trip to Rome might have been the last time he got any action.
“I really am a loser,” he mutters in defeat, the smugness draining from his face like a leaky balloon.
Shaking his head, he tries to refocus and gets back to work. With deliberate movements, he raises his binoculars again, hoping enough time has passed for her to get dressed, and scans the house for her once more.
Selina is still in the same spot, but now dressed in a lavish dark purple gown. The fabric is reminiscent of the Catwoman suit she wore back in the good old days. The gown clings to her in all the right places, accentuating her curves, the deep violet fabric shimmering slightly in the evening light. It’s elegant yet dangerous—just like her.
Riddler’s breath hitches slightly as he takes in the scene. She looks poised, her movements graceful, as if every step and gesture has purpose. He finds himself captivated, his mind racing with a thousand thoughts, each one trying to grasp the essence of the woman before him.
She has the same confidence that used to draw him in, back when their partnership—if you could call it that—was less complicated.
He can’t help but admire her, not just for her looks, but for the way she carries herself—always a step ahead, always unpredictable. Memories flood his mind—heists they’d pulled off together, the moments they shared between the chaos. She’s the only person who ever made him feel like an equal in their twisted world.
As he watches, she moves to a table near the window, casually sipping from a glass, completely unaware of his presence. Riddler knows this moment is crucial. He has to get his head back in the game. But every time he thinks about stepping forward, confronting her, he hesitates.
What would he even say? His carefully rehearsed words seem to evaporate in the face of the real thing. Is he really just here for the money? The thought gnaws at him, but he quickly pushes it aside.
He’s Edward Nigma—the Riddler, not emotions. He needs to focus. But seeing her again after all these years, looking so composed and untouchable, makes it harder than he imagined.
Focus, Nigma, he tells himself. This isn’t a reunion—it’s business.
Of course, Selina has a life of her own. She always has, but seeing her like this, dressed to impress and clearly waiting for someone, makes something twist uncomfortably inside him. He isn’t here for emotions, though—he has a job to do.
Riddler’s mind quickly shifts gears. If she’s going out, this is his opportunity. He’ll slip in once she leaves, retrieve what’s his, and be gone before she even knows he was there. It’s a flawless plan. Classic Riddler—strike when the other person least expects it.
The breeze blows her dark hair as she steps outside onto the porch, a small purse in hand, standing tall and elegant against the backdrop of her lavish home. The sun is just beginning to sink below the horizon, casting a warm, golden light across the Smoky Mountains. She glances down the driveway, clearly waiting for someone to arrive.
As he watches her now, he feels a pang of longing. The playful rivalries, the teasing back-and-forth, the way they could challenge each other and still find common ground—it was intoxicating. But it’s also a reminder of what was lost. They had drifted apart, their paths diverging after that fateful night. She had become an enigma, a shadow he could no longer grasp.
Minutes pass, and Riddler watches from the shadows as Selina checks her phone, then glances down the road again. Another ten minutes go by. She sits down on the porch steps, her fingers tapping idly against her phone, each tap an unspoken word echoing her frustration. Though her form remains poised and graceful, tension seeps into her demeanor, her once lively energy dimming as the minutes stretch on.
Thirty minutes. Then forty. The sun is completely gone now, the last traces of twilight fading into darkness. Selina is still there, sitting on the porch, her head resting in one hand as she checks her phone for what must be the hundredth time.
Riddler’s smirk fades as he continues to observe. No one’s coming, he realizes. The thought brings an unexpected pang of sympathy. She’s dressed to impress, waiting for someone who clearly isn’t going to show. Her confident, alluring exterior has cracked just enough to show the disappointment underneath.
It is disconcerting to finally see past Catwoman’s armor. He notes the subtle was her shoulders ag, the slight droop that gives her a weariness he had not expected to witness. When she finally puts her phone down, letting out a soft sigh that lingers in the cool evening air, it is as it she is resigning ehrself to a reality that her evening is not going to unfold as she hoped. The strength that usually defines her has ebbed just enough for him to glimpse the woman behind the mask.
Riddler hesitates, crouched in the brush, binoculars still trained on her. This wasn’t how he planned things. She was supposed to be gone by now, making it easy for him to slip in and out unnoticed. But now, watching her sit there alone, the thrill of the heist doesn’t feel quite as satisfying. In fact, it feels almost hollow.
Something inside him shifts. Maybe it’s the old memories resurfacing, or maybe it’s the sight of Selina—someone so strong and independent—looking vulnerable. Either way, he knows this is his moment, but not in the way he originally planned.
With a deep breath, he steels himself and makes his decision. Slinging his pack over his shoulder, he carefully makes his way toward the house, the soft grass giving away under his boots. As he approaches the porch, the light from the house casts long shadows across the yard. Selina, lost in thought, doesn’t seem to notice him until he’s just a few feet away.
“Waiting for someone?” he asks softly.
Selina jumps slightly, turning to face him with wide eyes, startled eyes. For a moment, she just stares at him, clearly surprised by his sudden appearance.
“Eddie?!”

Bruce Wayne x male reader: Late Night worries
Tw: SFW, soft, comfort, missing Jason, Bruce Wayne inner turmoil, husband reader, slight angst, worrying parents, Tim being worried and frustrated, grief
There are things that a married couple will learn together. Be it giving each other their own space to express themselves, to support them in their struggles and hardships. And yet there is much you can’t learn from the other; something’s you must learn for yourself.
M/n had learned this throughout the years of being married to two different sides of his husband.
The billionaire ex playboy, prince of Gotham…and Batman, the dark knight, savor of Gotham. Both parts of Bruce Wayne as a whole; parts of Bruce that m/n loved. Be it his husband's confidence in showing the city of the good behind his endless pockets of cash. Repairing the city that through the years of the rogue gallery deemed as the prime battle ground to face off with Batman…with Bruce.
Or seeing the Justice his husband brought to Gotham; his endless crusade against crime families to crazed maniacs had M/n worry and prideful as he attended the galas Bruce couldn’t attend knowing his husband was doing far more important things.
And no matter how much he tried M/n couldn’t help but fear the worst every time his husband went out on patrol. Alfred had tried repeatedly to assure him of Bruce’s skills and complete capability to defend himself from the insane masked rogues and petty criminals of the city.
Yet none of the older man’s efforts had worked to ease M/n’s fears as he laid in their shared bed staring out into the stormy skies of Gotham city, staring out at the silhouette of the crime ridden city.
The massive mansion was always the coldest and lone year when Bruce was gone; the bed far too cold to fall asleep alone in, the once comforting silence became deafening.
Even with Barb,Tim and Alfred in the house aiding Batman in his missions wasn’t a comfort to M/n as he laid in the large plush bed alone once more.
Letting out a shaking breath M/n turned in the bed pulling one of the many untouched pillows to his chest, smothering his face into the clean case of Bruce’s pillow and yet there still managed to be a slight hint of his husband's cologne.
For years now M/n had only the reminders of his husband's smell to sleep too; at least until the early morning sun woke the couple up, both tangled in each other's limbs to start their morning together.
But tonight wasn’t one of those nights…if felt just like the night Bruce got trapped on Arkham, and tonight felt worse. Throwing the blanket off from his sweating body M/n slipped on his slippers and night robes making his way to the living room. Switching on the TV to Gotham city news; pouring himself a small glass of bourbon as he stood watching the TV tirelessly.
“Can’t sleep like this; can’t keep worrying like this, he’s going to be fine, he’s always fine-“
-BREAKING NEWS! Billionaire Bruce Wayne thrown in Arkham City!-
🦇~~~~~~🦇
Alfred was in the kitchen finishing up washing the dishes from dinner when a loud sound of glass shattering erupted the once deathly silent manor.
Dropping the dish in his hand allowed it to fall and shatter as he ran to the source of the sound. Only to come across a scene he’s seen far too many times to count.
M/n Wayne on the floor grasping his mouth with one hand as his shoulders shook with each wrecking sob as the replay of Bruce’s ‘kidnapping’ played on the large flat screen. The glass of bourbon shattered and spread all around M/ns now bloodied hand.
“Master M/n! Sir your hand!”
Alfred rushed towards the sobbing wreck of a man. A man who was always withstanding so much from the emences fear that came with master Bruce’s attention being elsewhere as Batman. Fears that would shatter what little resolve would be left after each night.
Crouching to M/n’s level Alfred gently took hold of the shaking and bleeding hand; aiding m/n Wayne to the couch.
“Up you get master m/n, you didn’t get cut elsewhere sir?-“
“B-Bruce-“
Alfred’s eyes softened seeing the desperate look in those once shining e/c eyes. The worried lines that seemed to become a permanent placement. Alfred always knew things would get worse the farther Bruce delved into his crusade on crime in Gotham. That his mission would hurt those around them and it had. It all started with M/n then…Jason.
They lost a son be it through him simply running away or worse no one knew what happened to Jason only that he was gone and the mansion was far to quiet without his and master Dicks arguments during dinner over small differences in plans.
But looking away from the new outlet on Bruce Wayne being trapped in Arkham; Alfred knew as he patched the now cleaned wounds on master M/n’s hands that M/n was hanging on a rope of desperation as he listened to the new outlet speak on the low survival rates of Arkham city…the city with in the city filled with criminals.
“Master Bruce is quite capable of surviving in such a place master M/n; as we both know”
Sparing a glance up at the man in front of him, the bags under his eyes, the paleness of his skin from the lack of sleep had M/n Wayne look more dead than alive with each passing major event like this very one.
“I-I know…but I know Bruce too. And that I know that man won’t simply leave; he’ll investigate which will only lead him deeper into danger-“
“That he will and yet we both know he will always find a way to make it through against all odds sir… would it make you feel more at ease if we both help master Bruce on his mission”
M/n would once in a while help his husband on his missions; give Barbara a break away to rest once in awhile. That was before nearly witnessing his husbands death far to many times.
And yet deep down M/n had to make sure Bruce was safe! That he was even still alive-
‘No he’s still alive damn it!’
Looking down at his well bandaged hand M/n watched as Alfred clean the shattered cup up as he awaited an answer.
“I think that’s a good idea…even if it’s just for a short while, can't let you deal with all the hard work now can I?”
Alfred let out a light hearted chuckle turning his body towards the nearest trash can then to M/n.
“Oh believe me master M/n I’ve handled far worse than master Bruce’s rather common nightly actives; though the help would be much appreciated for both our sakes after all I’m not getting any younger”
Smiling M/n tightened his robe against his body before turning the large flat screen off before following Alfred down to the batcave.
“What are you saying Alfred you’re as young as ever”
M/n joked looking over to the far older man who scoffed at his joke.
“We both know that’s a load of poppycock master m/n”
Laughing as they stepped out from the elevator m/n made his way to the bat computer grabbing one of the ear pieces.
“And Alfred this is why we love you, you don’t take shot from no body”
M/n smiled as Alfred took a seat next to him, his fatherly energy filling the cold cave.
“Well I wouldn’t be a very good butler if I did now what I”
“Oh I don’t know your fighting and medical skill would’ve made up for it, alright let’s get started looks like Bruce is…of course he’s getting into a fight with Cobblepot”
🦇~~~~🦇
“So Brucey I see I can’t leave you alone for a night without you getting into life threatening trouble now can I?”
Upon hearing his husband’s joking voice Bruce nearly slipped during his climb up to the Ace chemical building. Before regaining his grip, scoffing as he spoke.
“Oh I would’ve thought you’d get used to my troubling behavior by now”
“Haha, I have…until recently I mean there was the black gate break, than Arkham asylum, now Arkham city I’m seeing a pattern of places and galas I’ve gotta keep your batty self from”
Laughing Bruce pulled himself on top of the roof looking out over the chaos that was ‘Arkham City’.
“Now where’s the fun in that, besides we both know I can’t just let these people run free. Let alone be placed practically in the middle of Gotham”
M/n smiled upon hearing the passion in Bruce’s voice, the strong morality of his husband and the love he had for the city of Gotham. The kind of love and passion he showed M/n in his protective and loving nature out in public or in their manor.
Yet a part of M/n knew there was far more to Bruce’s more protective nature… to a point that M/n couldn’t help his thoughts from drifting to the missing member of their family…Jason.
Ever since Jason had gone missing; practically vanished off the face of the earth had Batman work non-stop in his crime fighting and his search for the second member of their family of crime fighters. Bruce never forgave himself for Jason going missing, blaming himself for the fight they had before Bruce suited up to take Joker back into Arkham.
And argument M/n had to get in the middle of, it was the last night he spoke to the kid he considered as much his son as any one of Bruce’s adopted sons. And yet this sort of lose had the couple continuing their circle of non-stop fearing for their other half's safety.
More reason why both couldn’t stop the other in their duties. Batman was needed in this crime ridden city the two called home. Gotham but even more so Bruce needed Batman, needed a reason to hope for better.
“That’s putting things mildly; after all, me and Alfred have been looking through the schematics and radio channels and it’s all referring to a ‘Protocol 10’. Sent what data I could grab before the firewalls caught on to Barb…Bruce Tim could be a-“
“No”
Sighing M/n looked over to Tim who was in his Robin uniform upon hearing the news, ending his patrols to check on his tired father.
“Bruce we both know I could help you-“
“I said no Jason! I’m sorry it’s just-“
“Just something you have to do yourself yeah I get it; aye pops I’m heading back out call me when…you know”
Nodding m/n smiled sadly to Tim who’s own worried eyes stared at the bags that sat heavy under his pops e/c eyes. As Tim left the batcave to silence was nearly deafening if it weren’t for the few stray bats flying over head.
“I didn’t mean to-“
“I know babe, Tim knows too”
Alfred took this opportunity to go make them some tea for the long night ahead. Leaving the couple alone on call as Batman read over the few documents on encrypted documents M/n had found.
“He reminds me of him sometimes…always pushing, always-“
“Stubborn, headstrong, always willing to push your buttons to get any mission, training, or patrols you can give him?”
“Yeah”
A mournful silence filled the batcave as the couple focused on the work of the impending arrival of yet another long, exhausting night of crime fighting and investigative work.
“Brucey…at some point whether or not we want to admit it…Tim isn’t a kid anymore…he’s not weak, and at some point you have to let Robin spread his wings”
Bruce knew that everything his husband said was true; no matter how they felt Tim wasn’t Jason…Jason was gone; missing or dead for all they knew he could’ve just took off and didn’t look back. Tim wasn’t some kid anymore, he was trained by the best, his future looked bright even past being a crime fighter.
Sighing Batman took off towards the courthouse, the best place to start his investigation was to ask the best thief in Gotham.
“Tell Robin to keep his coms open to any calls of backup…if this nights anything to go off of right now…there more going on here”
Smiling as Alfred handed him his tea , M/n smiled at the screen of countless radio channels between the TIGER guards.
“It’s going to be one long night; be careful, l don’t want Tim to have to bring you back home in a body bag”
“ that’s not going to happen, I’ll make sure if it…love you”
“Love you too…going on stand by”
I hope you all liked a small taste of this one shot! I’ve loved the Arkham series ever since I first played it! Best games ever shocked there aren’t many of the Arkham series based oneshot out there hope I did a good job for the first of many in this new hyper-fixation of mine!

Collection of stuff I found interesting whilst reading through The Riddler's Gambit (Arkham Knight Prequel book)
[Chapters 1-4]
Tumblr media
At least Eddie's aware of his own egomania
Tumblr media
So the decision to keep Oracle a secret from Gordon was Barbara's choice? Guess it wouldn't really change Gordon's reaction to the confession later on in Arkham Knight, but it would've been interesting to see how it would've played out if Bruce told him during that scene
Tumblr media
^^ Bruce's worries about keeping Oracle's identity a secret from Jim
WELL. UH... WE KNOW HOW THAT PLAYED OUT :'D
Tumblr media
Either Bruce is just really daft and forgot Babs already knows his identity, or the author forgot the voice lines in both Arkham Asylum and City where Babs calls Bruce by his name? Or that entire Hush side mission in A. City where Babs directly challenges Batman by proposing he might've been the serial killer bc Bruce Wayne's prints were found at the crime scene??
Tumblr media
THIS STINKSTER. He's so damn goofy I love it
Tumblr media
Tbh I really wish we got to see more of this side of Riddler in the Arkham games? We usually just see his goofier show-biz esque persona in the games, and although it's hinted at, we don't really get to see how genuinely menacing he can be? There aren't many scenes depicting how he treats his goons, or anyone who isn't another rogues gallery member/ Batman? (Or at least the only glimpses I can remember are how he talks to his Riddlerbots?)

Context for each choices
Choice 1 context. Basically Owlman, but instead of Bruce dying with Thomas and Martha, this is a Thomas who lived in a boarding school and upon hearing of the death of his parents, Thomas begins to plot his revenge. When he gets his hands on Joe Chill, he realizes there is no point because Chill is a product of his environment. He embraces crime and the insanity of Arkham. He sees his brother as a threat. The way he wastes his family's fortune to fix something that cannot be fixed. So he begins the plan to slowly dismantle everything Bruce has built. Bankrupting Wayne Enterprises, flooding Gotham with a crime wave that the city has never witnessed and when Bruce sees his city in ruins, all his progress and his Batfamily in ruins, then Thomas will kill his brother and take his place as the king of Gotham
Choice 2 Context. Damian is the Arkham Knight. Talia talked about Bruce and Talia’s night in Metropolis. So you could have a tease for Damian there. But Ra’s raised Damian and indoctrinated him. This is a Damian without Bruce’s influence and was raised to believe that Bruce is responsible for his mother’s death and together Ra’s and Damian will fulfill the LOA’s destiny. Everything leading up to learning his identity is the same(though Arkham Knight uses a sword and throwing stars instead of guns) When the mask comes off, Batman is confused due to how much he looks like him. Damian explains that he is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul. Damian blames him for the death of his mother and Ra’s Al Ghul. But if Ra’s is alive via the season of Infamy DLC. Work it into the story. Say Damian is working with Ra’s similar to how Hugo Strange was working with Ra’s. Damian names himself after the place his family died and now he wants his father dead. There’d be more emotional impact and would have made more sense than trying to convince viewers that Jason was Robin in this continuity.
Choice 3 context The Arkham Knight should have just been a symbolic title and ya know, ACTUALLY focus on the villains teaming up. The Gotham Rogues teaming up is the main threat. The reveal of the Arkham Knight being a re-skin of the Red Hood has been talked about to death. What hasn’t been talked about as much is the missed opportunity of having a game where Batman has to deal with the ramifications of the Joker’s death. Arkham Knight opens with Commissioner Gordon talking about how Gotham braced itself for the inevitable power struggle that never came. But what if it had? Instead of pushing some of Batman’s greatest villains into a few side-quests (that all played basically the same), the game’s story could have focused on the Bat Family as it fights to save Gotham. Players could have swapped between the best of Batman’s team as they tackle missions all over Gotham, the Asylum, and Arkham City. Areas visible in the game but not accessible. This would have allowed the story of the Arkham games to come full circle as players would have traveled back to locations previously seen and explored them with the changes made as the story for the games went on. Plus it would finally give all the members of the Bat Family a chance to spread their wings. We needed to see Scarecrow, Harley, Ivy, Penguin, Hush, Riddler and Two-Face work together as major threats and we needed to see Bruce and his family(Dick, Tim, Kate, Cassandra and Stephanie) work together to stop them and honestly that would’ve been so much better.
Choice 4 context.
Arkham Knight is Protocol 12. Hugo Strange works for Ra’s, but however, Let’s pay attention to this. From Quincy Sharp, he says “Strange came to me back at the asylum. He told me he had friends; powerful friends. The sort of people who could make things happen. All I had to do was turn a blind eye to his experiments, and work on my campaign. He said his friends would ensure that I won" In Strange’s confrontation with Batman. “ I have powerful friends, Batman. This is just the beginning.“ Now if you’ve watched Justice League Unlimited, you will know that Hugo Strange is a Departmental head of Project CADMUS. So What if In the Arkhamverse, Strange is still apart of Project CADMUS. While Ra’’s was the mastermind, the Arkham City project was planned by CADMUS as a start to take down Batman and Gotham, but a start to bring down the Justice League. The Arkham Knight would be Strange’s and CADMUS’ last fail safe to bring an end to Batman. The identity is not important. All we need to know is it is a CADMUS experiment and Strange’s last trump card against Batman. The Arkham Knight should have been it’s own character and not a copout to make him Jason Todd and there was so much lost potential.
Choice 5 context.
Jeremiah Arkham is the Arkham Knight. In Arkham Asylum, Quincy Sharp believed himself to be the Spirit of Amadeus Arkham. This could simply be Sharp being the zealous warden that he was but it could have set up something else. What if Jeremiah Arkham was the REAL reincarnation of Amadeus Arkham? He shares a similar story already, treating mentally unwell patients until it drove him insane. Instead of becoming the next Black Mask, he could have become the purifier of evil that Quincy Sharp tried to be: the Arkham Knight.
Choice 6 context
In Arkham City it is heavily teased that Joker and Harley had a baby. Before anyone comments about Harley’s revenge, that was actually unpopular with the fandom, so it could’ve been retconned. From a comment I found on the Arkham reddit.  “The game begins the traditional way where you lead a character around but can’t perform any actions. You control Harley who’s in shock after Joker’s death and hasn’t spoken a work since. You control her as she’s being escorted into Blackgate staying true to the prison opening setting of all the games. Joker’s death sends shockwaves across Gotham. Soon enough, her thugs break her out and they arrive at an abandoned warehouse where Harley walks in alone, she opens a shipping container and a kidnapped nurse from Arkham City walks out and pleads with her to let her go, telling her she’s done all they’ve asked. Harley agrees that she has but says that no one can know about their child yet, she shoots the nurse and the shot wakes a baby inside the container, Harley then picks it up and sings it the lullaby we hear in the Arkham City end credits. Cut to black.
But what if it isn't just one kid? What if it's twins? Lucy Quinn and Jack Quinn.
15 years later. Harley Quinn and the Arkham Knight gathers the rogues gallery. Scarecrow, Hush, Poison Ivy, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Penguin all working together to take down the Bat and make Gotham theirs. The difference is the rogues would not be used in side missions exclusively. They would work in the story mandatory similar to how Spider-Man PS4′s villains worked in the main story and we take them down one by one.
Jack will be the Arkham Knight, while Lucy infiltrates Wayne Enterprises as Lucy White and gains the trust of Bruce Wayne and allows herself to be taken hostage because Harley knows Bruce cannot allow an "innocent" be harmed and in the climax, Lucy will show her true colors and knock out Batman. Like in the climax of Arkham Knight, Bruce is taken to Arkham Asylum where this all started. But it's Harley, Jack and Lucy. They reveal the truth. Joker and Harley's children are here to avenge their father. Tim and Cassandra come to the rescue and defeat Jack and Lucy, while Bruce knocks Harley out. Arkham Knight ends with Bruce retiring and becoming Mayor of Gotham, while Tim, Dick and Cassandra would watch over Gotham

Because rocksteady is reportedly making a new Arkham game. I want to share my idea for Arkham beyond story.
After Bruce passed way of old age, terry is unsure if he can keep neon Gotham safe without Bruce guidance. After getting a call from the new GCPD commissioner about a murder investigation, terry put the Batman beyond suit on and drive their with the new Batmobile.
The victim is bane! Now an old man. Batman is able to find a hidden message that is basically this “going to kill old Batman still alive rouge gallery members. I darn you to can stop me”
Throughout the game (and night) Batman fights criminals taking on the mantle of the enemies of the previous Batman! Batman discovers these legacy villains show up, after the killing of their original.
Near the end of the game, the killer is revealed to be Tim and Barbara son, James Gordon jr! When Batman ask, why is he doing this? Jr explain he looks up to the joker and a Batman without joker with his other rouge gallery is blasphemy!
Jr escape and leave the new bane to take care of Batman. After beating bane in a boss fight. Batman discover jr plan is to release joker gas in neo Gotham water supply! The location…old Arkham asylum!
But before that he, get the new Batman beyond suit (mostly because his old one was damaged by bane) and it basically the og beyond suit.
Batman arrive at old Arkham and fight his way through locations from the game that started it all! Batman finally reach jr (who is dress as the joker) in killer croc old lair. After a final boss fight against new joker (no thugs, titans serums or mesh suit. Just an old fists cups fight with gadgets) Batman is able to disable the machine design to release joker gas. Jr is taken way to new Arkham by ngcpd, the end game with text saying ‘the next day’. Sun being to set and terry is looking at an invitation to join the justice league. He then seems a new bat signal shiny in the sky of his window. Terry get up and enter the bat cave. Ready to once again save the city he love!
Post game would have Batman finish all the side missions and riddler trophy to fight deathstroke daughter ‘rose’ in secret boss fight! Basically it an apology for Arkham knight godawful deathstroke “fight”. So yes it like his origin boss fight but harder and switch genders!

I just played and finished Gotham Knights for the first time
And I have a LOT of thoughts. I might go in depth on certain things in other posts, but I want to kinda go over my general thoughts and feelings about this game. Spoilers ahead for:
Tumblr media
First things first, if you want this to be "Arkham: Gotham Knights", you are going to leave very disappointed. The game's reception was hurt pretty bad by comparisons it to the Arkham series. Arkham is a masterpiece. Gotham Knights is very good at what it wants to accomplish, but comparing it to Arkham feels unfair. I mean...I'm gonna do it anyways, but I'll compare them with the intention that the Arkham games and Gotham Knights set out to accomplish two different things
The Good:
•By far, the best aspect of this game is the scripted moments between the Batfamily. This game features Nightwing (Dick Grayson), Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Red Hood (Jason Todd), Robin (Tim Drake), and Alfred. It's very clear this is the aspect the developers put the most focus into and it really pays off. It gives me the same feeling as reading "Batman: Wayne Family Adventures". If you just want to see the Batfamily interact and support each other, you're gonna love this game
Tumblr media
•While it took me a while to get used to, I really fell in love with the art direction of this game. The skyline of Gotham City is gorgeous. I love the way the bright neon signs illuminate the low hanging fog giving everything a sort of colorful haze. And while I don't love every suit design, I think the customization let's me really like most of them. Batman especially looks really great in this game. His suit in this game is inspired by his look in the Rebirth comics and it translates beautiful
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Bad:
• I'm genuinely confused by the characterization of Mr. Freeze in this game. His motivations are all over the place to the point that I wonder if WB Montréal decided to combine Victor and Nora Fries into one character. At the beginning of the Mr. Freeze side mission, it's explained that Mr. Freeze had given up crime because Batman had promised to help develop a cure for his condition, but now that Batman is gone, he's back at it. Victor doesn't normally care about his own illness, he just wants a cure for Nora. But Nora is never mentioned in this game. Even weirder, nothing he does in the story is ever to cure his condition. SO WHY DID HE STOP CRIME IN THE FIRST PLACE IF HE DOESN'T EVEN CARE ABOUT FINDING A CURE AND HE JUST WANTS TO FREEZE GOTHAM!? It's just a weird creative decision to take
Tumblr media
•Yeah so this one isn't a big deal, but at one point in the story, a cat sneaks into The Belfry and the Batfamily just kind of adopt it. It stays there for the rest of the game. You can't pet the cat. I know this isn't important, but it actually made me genuinely sad when I found this out
Tumblr media
The Ugly:
•To call this game underdeveloped would be a compliment. I wouldn't call it unpolished, because the game runs perfectly as intended in my experience. I didn't encounter a single bug or crash. But the story and the gameplay feel half-baked, which really sucks considering those are the two main aspects of a video game
•In the gameplay department, combat is passable but the skill ceiling is REALLY low. It reallys very restrictive in what you're actually able to do, but the combat by itself isn't so bad that it isn't fun.
Traversal on the other hand is awful. All the characters use a grapple to get around, but there's no momentum, so you feel like you're barely moving. You stop and lose all momentum between grapples. Arkham also has a grapple gun but it allowed you to string multiple grapple points and keep your momentum through them so they'd be more fluid and you keep your speed going
Tumblr media
The Batcylce is also not great. It's REALLY slow and despite the added movement lines around the screen to provide the illusion of speed, you're barely moving faster than the cars on the road. Again, compare this to the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. I did not love the Batmobile in Arkham Knight, and I outright hated the Riddler races, but it was fast and you could really feel the speed in it
Tumblr media
Finally you don't actually unlock the ability to glide or any of the other weird traversal abilities if you're playing as anyone other than Nightwing or Batgirl until you complete the Knighthood challenges. Locking an essential traversal ability behind an option set of challenges is weird to say the least. I don't have much to say about gliding, it controls fine but feels slow compared to Arkham
Tumblr media
•Lastly, the story of this game isn't bad for what is is, but is disappointing when you realize it had the potential to be so much better by including two characters who are absent from this game: Kate Kane Batwoman and Damian Wayne Robin. The game is set up as a sort of gang war between the The League of Assassins lead by Talia Al Ghul and The Court of Owls lead by Jacob Kane. Both of their child are members of the batfamily, but were weirdly excluded from this game. Including them as playable characters could have made the conflict more personal and interesting.
Additionally, Catherine Kane, Kate Kane's step-mother, is the current anti-vigilante Commissioner of the GCPD. Her daughter being Batwoman would be great character drama that goes completely unexplored. As is, Catherine is a one dimensional, underdeveloped character. And Damian could be shown as torn between the recent death of his father and the re-emergence of his mother in Gotham City. These characters feel like obvious inclusions for the story of this game but are missing without any explanation
Tumblr media
In Conclusion:
This game has a lot working against it. I couldn't even fit half of my thoughts into this already way too long rant. The game is just average in the gameplay, mediocre in the story, but absolutely phenomenal in the inter-character relationships. I compared it to Wayne Family Adventures earlier, and if you love stuff like that and want more of the Batfamily being supportive and wholesome to each other, you'll love this game. And I think that's genuinely the main appeal of Gotham Knights. But if you're not interested in the characters and just want a Batman action game, it's passable, but you'd be better off playing any of the Arkham games

Can I ask one for the event?
(Absolutely adore your work, you make me absolutely besotted with Jason. Keep being your awesome self!!)
“Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves”
Hi, thank you! I couldn't really figure out how to work this prompt in as dialogue, so I'm just going to run it as a vibe. This is with the Arkham Knight, hope that's okay!
When Jason Todd comes back to you, he's covered in scars and armor. His eyes are darker, his movements are sharper, and his words are laced with threats. Not for you, never for you, but for everyone else. For Batman. For criminals. For the city.
What's worse is that they make sense. What happened to him– it shouldn't have happened. Shouldn't have been able to happen to anyone.
You don't know if it's guilt that has you following in his steps, or if it's the fact that you actually believe in his mission, but you follow him nonetheless.
You've turned yourself into his loyal companion, always on his heels, ready to follow his every order, and weak to his rare, fleeting touches. You claw your way up the ranks of his militia with a single-minded agenda of loyalty until there's no question of your skills or what you're here for.
Him. Only him.
You don't waver, not during the evacuation, not when fear gas blankets the city, not when the death toll slowly ticks higher and higher.
Screams echo through the streets, only dulled by the occasional alarm or drone driving by. It should make you feel something, anything. But you're calm, content even, to stand quietly at the Arkham Knights side.
He tells you they deserve it, tells you, in the end, you're only saving more lives. His voice is hard, unwavering even as the cries of terror grow to a fevered pitch.
It doesn't matter if it's true. In this city, ruthlessness is mercy, and you'll deliver it for as long as he sees fit to command it of you.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Developer: Monolith Productions Publisher: Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment Rrp: £15.99 (Humblebundle and Steam) Released: 30th September 2014 Available on: Humblebundle and Steam Played Using: Xbox One Control Pad Approximate game length: 16 Hours
I doubt there is a single game genre that the Lord of the Rings franchise hasn't been 'officially' pushed into (fan games don't count). However there was a time when open world wasn't one of them. That seems really strange now given that it seems like such an obvious choice, but things are always obvious after the fact. I do have to admit though, the open world genre really does suit it.
The game is set in Tolkien's Middle-Earth between the events of The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. You play as Talion, a man who has been cursed to be 'banished from death', meaning that until the curse is lifted he cannot die, not truly. This might seem like a benefit (and mechanically speaking it is) but thematically it's a fate worse than death for Talion who was forced to watch his family be slaughtered by invading Uruks and is unable to join them in the afterlife. A part of this curse also links Talion to the soul of a long dead elf and this is when I start to question how this is a curse rather than a boon, because this elven wraith grants you a lot of abilities that are most certainly positive.
Tumblr media
Scattered around the world are Forge Towers, these are towers that you have to scale and activate to reveal the missions and collectibles that are within a region on your map. Essentially these are the equivalent of radio towers in the Far Cry games (or most other Ubisoft games). As was mentioned before, Talion is 'banished from death' which means that when he dies he gets respawned at a Forge Tower (I believe its the nearest but I'm not entirely sure).
Handily the icons on the map tell you which missions advance the story and which are side quests, meaning you can avoid the main mission and go explore the world.
Tumblr media
In typical RPG fashion killing enemies and completing missions gains experience which will eventually lead to gaining ability points. As you would expect with ability points, you spend them to unlock new powers.
Finding collectibles, completing side missions and challenges earns a resource called mirian along with awarding you with experience points. Mirian is used to to purchase upgrades such as increased health etc.
Tumblr media
You can use your wraith powers to stun enemies, interrogate them for intel and later on dominate their minds so that they fight for you.
Information gained through interrogations will reveal the name, location and power rating of the selected Uruk Captain within Saurons army. Further information can be attained by interrogating 'worms' which are specific Uruk's that will reveal a Captains strengths and weaknesses. This power rating is an indication of how powerful that Captain is and the more powerful a Captain is when defeated the greater the reward is for doing so. A Captain that survives a fight (or even an interaction) with you will increase in power, they also will make a point of mentioning how you died or ran away last time.
Tumblr media
Combat in this game is pretty similar to that of Assassin's Creed or the Batman: Arkham games (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight). It's all a matter of keeping an eye on the button prompt that appears above an Uruks head so that you can counter them or dodge away. The best part of combat though for me was performing the combat executions, which you can only do when you breach a specific hit streak amount. They're just so visceral and very impressive looking.
Of course, you don't always have to kill these Uruks in huge group melees, you can be subtle about it and sneak in bushes taking them down one by one. Or snipe them from a distance with your bow. Or you could combine all three, which is likely how things will go because it's rare to find an Uruk all alone.
Tumblr media
Uruks that kill you can challenge existing Captains within Sauron's army (or fill a gap left behind by a Captain you've killed), if they win the challenge the become promoted to Captain. You can even assist in their ascent if you wish by going to 'challenge' events and killing their opponents. Now you may be wondering why you would want to assist in their ascent, the answer is actually simple and relates to a previous paragraph, the more powerful a Captain is when they are killed the better the reward is.
I've mentioned that killing Captains gives you a reward a few times now but not actually said what the reward is, well now is the time. The reward for killing an Uruk Captain is a rune, either for your sword, bow or dagger. At the start of the game you can only equip one rune on a weapon at a time but if you spend mirian to upgrade the weapon it will be able to hold up to five runes. These runes have all sorts of benefits and there are a great many to find, some will heal you upon each successful kill, others increase the damage you cause etc.
Tumblr media
I found the default field of view to be too close to the character, this meant that sadly I did have to mod this game slightly to increase it. Normally I would be against such an action, however, it seems that this is a peculiar quirk of the PC release for this game, the console versions apparently had a wider field of view on release. Because of this I've determined my slight modification to the game as a fix rather than an alteration.
In all honesty its the nemesis system that raises this game from being a fairly standard open world game into something more special. A great example of this is while I played I was killed by some random Uruk, that Uruk was then given a name, a title and became a Captain. I was so incensed by him killing me that I specifically hunted him down. Sadly I failed to kill him in three separate occasions so I saw what was once a random Uruk eventually reach the highest echelon he could. With each fight he would taunt me and I was so immensely satisfied when I finally killed him that I actually cheered. It was a totally unique and organic experience which caused me to completely ignore the main plot until I had finally killed him.
Tumblr media
This game is definitely worth its current asking price and you don't even need to be all that familiar with the Lord of the Rings franchise to enjoy it. I highly recommend this game. Now I just have to see if the DLC's are worth their salt.
If this appeals to you perhaps try;
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Assassin's Creed 2 Batman: Arkham Asylum

omg indy, literally i’ve been listening to is the rots soundtrack while doing my school. i am on such a star wars kick recently and im going to make the bf do a full watch of all star wars content. ( i had to introduce him to it and i still have to show him all the indiana jones movies)
in other news, i played some more arkham knight. i completed dick and tim’s side missions and those were fun i suppose. i haven’t done catwoman bc the bf says it is the hardest. i have been working my way through completing the different militia missions but man they are stressful and i wish i didnt save them till the end.
that’s all for now, lots of love through your drought -🍓🤍
def show him the indiana jones movies 💯
for me im not a sw fan i’m just a vader fan, so i’ve only walked my bf through my encyclopedic knowledge of vader’s entire life but also he wouldn’t watch them even if i tried bcos he doesn’t like to watch movies that came out before the 2000s. he won’t rly watch indiana jones either bcos it’s from the 80s 💀
i hope you and ur bf likes them <3
as for the side missions, yea and dick and tim’s were okay. they felt kinda short and very standard like they didn’t bring anything new to the table but it’s fine. the catwoman one is rly challenging it took me a couple of tries and i never have to do a couple tries for anything in batman.
i love the militia missions :) they’re my favorite. if you’re having trouble finding where all the bombs, watchtowers, and road blocks are there’s a big red digital map in arkham knight’s HQ
are you going to get all the riddler trophies?

Here’s a fandom: Batman!
Thank you for the ask and honestly this is going to be more "Batman Villain fandom", because that is the part of Batman lore I care the most about
Favourite Female: Catwoman
Favourite Male: Scarecrow
3 Other Favourite Characters: The Riddler Two-Face Poison Ivy
3 OTPs: Selina/Bruce Harley/Ivy Scarecrow/Mad Hatter
Notp:  Any of the Robins with Batman
Funniest character: Victor Zsasz in Gotham, he is such a silly little guy, I'm obsessed-
Prettiest character: Poison Ivy in the comic "End's of the earth" I love how she is drawn in that one
Most Annoying Character: Joker and Harley, but that is more with writers overusing them in everything, more than me having actual problems with them. Also the Arkham Knight annoyed me a lot when playing the game sorry, I know he has his fans but I couldn't get behind his character😭sorry
Most badass character: Idk, I like my batman villains as a bit pathetic.
Character I’d like as my BFF: Lego Joker, honestly any of the Lego versions of the rogues is a good one.
Female Character I’d Marry: Selina Kyle
Male Character I’d Marry: Harvey Dent
Character I hate/dislike/least like: Hush, he is just very boring to me. The closest I got to care was to see what they will do with him in Arkham Knight....and then they did nothing with him except a super underwhelming side mission yeee
