Community Secret Hunting: 3 Unfound Secrets of BATDR
Tumblr media
So today theMeatly put out a tweet that we have three easter eggs that haven't been found in BATDR. There are capitalized letters in the message that, when put together, spell out WRITER. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out what this could be a hint for, so I'm going to give you a list of my thoughts. If anyone wants to try these out, please do! I'd love to hear your findings.
We get a small thing about the writing department during the Studio Tours. Could be tied to trying to interact with that.
Might have something to do with using one of our ink abilities on walls with writing on them. I would try this with the first wall message of Chapter 3 (the one from the original BATDR trailer, "The Machine Must Endure). There are other places that might be useful to try, like "She Was the Fourth".
We already have a secret that's unlocked by collecting every copy of The Illusion of Living, but what if there's another? Wouldn't be far fetched. A certain number or all of them being under our belt might be the key.
We have the library in Wilson's Retreat with three books to read, but what if there's more that we missed?
Rereading The Mug and the Maiden, the book on Audrey's bed in the retreat, might yield some new perspective. I will try to do this and analyze it later.
Some people on twitter are suggesting trying to interact with the typewriters?
It could be tied to golden ink messages. What happens if we try to use our powers on the Contraband window in Chapter 4?
The North Wing has potential, Betty's line about it being a mess and how all those beautiful books can't be read now has me suspicious. The North Wing is the first place I think is worth checking given it's difficult to get through and is full of books. Are any of them able to be interacted with?
This one is a bit of a stretch, but does anyone have a completed save file for Bendy and the Ink Machine or Boris and the Dark Survival on their computer to go with BATDR? I HIGHLY doubt there's any kind of secret that involves something like this, but if FNAF World can do it, why not Bendy? BATDS save data would be my guess, specifically save data that has involved an encounter with Borkis. (Since Buddy is a Boris, and Dot is his friend, Boris being a clue to figuring out something writing related might make sense).
Is this something we need to look to the novels to figure out? We do have Dot in the writing department as of Dreams Come to Life. I'm not sure this is tied to her though, the games have yet to acknowledge the books.
Have we found all the notes in BATDR? We have notes from characters with names in one font, and then notes in this other font from someone that seems to be exposed to ink corruption (I'm assuming Sammy since the last one says "Can I get an Amen?" and talks about "My Lord", but it may not be!). Have we gotten all of those, or are there notes/audiologs we haven't found yet? Data miners, this may be one you can confirm.
Has anyone tried whacking the sign that has all the train locations in Chapter 4? Or using flow on it? I don't think this will yield anything, but it's got words in it, so it goes on the brainstorming list.
Is there anything in the real world Prologue section that might help us? We did get some hints at Dudley's design there, who's to say there may not be more?
This is all I've got for now, but if you guys have any more thoughts, please, feel free to add on! Share your findings if you try anything! Part of why I'm sharing this is so that we can do this together, as a community. Maybe one of you with better skills than I have can crack it. Good luck secret hunters!

Gent Prison Break Details
I was screwing around with Batdr today and found that if you go back to the Gent prison during Chapter 5 (after Alice kidnaps you and you return to the safe part of the mansion) you'll find that all the everybody being held there has been sprung!
Tumblr media
Henry's nowhere to be seen
Tumblr media
Sammy's gone
Tumblr media
And they even took the Projectionist with them :D
Plus they grabbed their stuff too
Tumblr media
Nothings in contraband

I jusy checked back to get something for Betty definitely didn't take a wrong turn or anything to the Pit and. . .
HENRY'S FUCKIN GONE AND SO'S ALL HIS SHIT FROM CONTRABAND i geuss sammys gone too, I only saw his empty when I went to leave
Also apparantly there's a way to get a fuckin metal band to start up in the artists rest? you have to grab half a ticket from malice's lil tea party of death table n the other half is on the other side of the room from where you get the fast travel thingy, the one with the ladder
OK this is stupid late for me rn
but I was playin batdr earlier (first time getting further in that ch1) n was wanderin about seein all the cool details n shit. . .
was no one gonna tell me they all wear santa hats on christmas???
like its super fuckin hard to concentrate on the 'oooh spooky horror game' thing when the santa hat dosent fit on the ink demon properly so it has to wear it over one horn
I mean the hymn playin in the background in ch1 - either silent night or somethin like that- is super fuckin creepy I'll give it that, especially seein as I couldn't quite place where I'd heard it before (idk if it goes on any longer than that im just after meeting porter)
side note, Porter is such a sweet precious boy I've only known him for 2 min and I will die for him

sometimes it hits me that sammy showing up and immediately dying is nothing new. chapter 2 he shows up a little in the background, spews gay shit and is killed offscreen. chapter 3 or 4 theres an easter egg with maybe him as a lost one that you kill. chapter 5 he shows up spews gay shit and is killed. batdr he gets a brief cameo in jail, spews gay shit and is killed. hes always been like that........

Hello bendy fandom Really fucking long rant/analysis abt me defending wally franks batim in a nutshell (and kind of basically making an au??.?. idk probably). enjoy if u want or don't idc 🎷🐇
i know this is a really stupid thing to be mad about, but the fact that wally isnt buddy boris has stuck with me ever since dctl was released. i found out through a fucking superhorrorbro video of all things all the way back in like 2018 i'm pretty sure 😭😭 i was so disappointed when i found out bc like WHAT DO U MEAN THE JANITOR/HANDYMAN OF JOEY DREW STUDIOS, EHO WAS GENERALLY A TRICKSTER AND A CLUTZ AND LIKED TO PISS PEOPLE OFF, ISN'T THE PERFECT BORIS CLONE. BUDDY BORIS FITS/HAD POTENTIAL TO FIT MOST TO ALL OF THAT CRITERIA.
and don't grt me wrong, i (kind of) like buddy as a character, BUT i really just don't think he fits the role (from what i've seen/read). like he could've been a different boris clone as a little easter egg/nod to what happened to him and how he died but as like. an important role in the game?? even though the books aren't even fucking canon apparently now so his subplot doesn't even make sense anymore?????.????... ooh bitchh
ALSO the "he (wally) got outta there that's why/he has a wife and kids" IS A WEAK ASS FUCKING ARGUMENT. THIS IS NOT A SHITS AND GIGGLES PLOTLINE U CAN JUST THROW AWAY. how come thomas grts to be tom (which makes somewhat sense with him also being a handyman type of guy), but wally can't also partake in the Main Character-ified Borisification to help henry traverse the studio. why can't that just be so easy to do. there could've been so many cool extra plotpoints and nods to what could've happened to him but Noooo Noooooooooo they just HAD to make a whole new character JUST for wally to NOT BE BORIS. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE BOOKS ARE NON CANON NOW BECAUSE THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE. (/sarc)
and don't FUCKING quote me on batds bc i know SOMEBODU will be like "b-b-b-bbut b-b-buddy's whole s-s-side plot with collecting the scraps in batds makes him c-c-c-canon!!! 🥺🥺🥺💖😭😭💔💔💔🎀🎀✨✨ ur just mad bc it's not what was assumed by the fandom!! ;-; úwù heh..." FIRST OF ALL, BUDDY ISNT EVEN MENTIONED IN ANY OF THE CANON GAMES (besides the secret message in the safehouse but i don't think that rlly counts imo), NOR DOES HE HAVE ANY RELEVANCE IN THE STORY WHATSOEVER, WHICH MEANS HE IS STRICTLY BOOK-CANON. SECOND OF ALL, BATDS WAS KNOWN AS A SIDE/EXTRA GAME AT THE TIME OF IT'S RELEASE AND WASN'T EVEN CONFIRMED TO BE APART OF BATIM OR ANY OTHER PART OF THE FRANCHISE (ASIDE FROM A SIDE GAME TO PLAY WHILE BATDR WAS IN PRODUCTION) UNTIL BATDR WAS RELEASED AND CONFIRMED BATDS IS HAPPENING DURING IT (WHICH DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE EITHER)!!!
I DON'T CARE WHAT KIND OF OPINION COULD CHANGE MY MIND. WE GOT A PERFECTLY GOOD AND WELL-DEVELOPED CHARACTER (AND A [PERSONAL] FAN FAVORITE) AT THAT POINT FOR WHO BORIS COULD'VE BEEN, AND IT GOT TAKEN FOR SOME STUPID SEEMINGLY HALF-ASSED SUBPLOT THAT'S ONLY HALF-CANON NOW BECAUSE MIKE FUCKING D IS A GOD DAMN MORON IDIOT BASTARD ASS BITCH OHHH MY GOD IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY I'M GONNA PULL OUT ALL MY HAUR
Tumblr media
sorry. almost lost my cool there guys.. ☝️😎 (/J)
soo with all that said, PERSONALLY this is what i think they should've done with buddy instead (under the cut so this post isn't 600 pages long)
first of all; scrap buddy's origin story completely and just make dtcl about the fact that he was simply another victim of the machine instead of making him such a major character (ex. a boris clone that was almost perfect but didn't quite make it like i said earlier)
on top of that, dctl could've just been insight on a single worker's process through working at the studio to being one of many victims of the machine, instead of turning him into such a titular important gary stu ass character with an in-depth backstory and Joey Drew Favoritism™ apparently that CLEARLY didn't need it + shouldn't be an mc if he's only in the books + the books aren't canon and the games are. so then it doesn't make it make any sense if he has such an important role and he isn't even fucking canon anyway and etc.
if he would've just stayed a minor inconvenient mc in a non-canon book it wouldn't have been detrimental to the lore as Mr. D Likes To Exaggerate (to me) + the books just seem like a fun one-off exclusive to the game series anyway, so it starts to kind of make sense why they aren't canon and leaves a lot of mysteries up to interpretation which is something i DO appreciate (to a CERTAIN extent)
here's what i think could've been done if wally was actually buddy boris and faced The Horrors™ like a normal main character should. an au, if you will (AND bc im VERY bias abt wally since He was my first ever og blorbo the first time i heard his audio log i literally owe him my Life💜💜💜💜)
wally could've started dropping hints in his audio logs that something funny was happening in the studio (specifically to him)/he could've been the last major victim to be sacrificed to the machine and therefore being one of the reasons of having the role of "the perfect boris" as malice said
-he also seems like the type of person to give into manipulation fairly easily, not knowing how truly bad something is before he gets involved yk
-a bit of a stretch BUT could also be a nod to susie's initial likeness towards wally pre-canon and vice versa (sourced from the special audio log wally has on the jds yt channel)
-him being the perfect boris also could allude to his personality/attributes and the way he talked abt the studio
and you can't forget the audio log of him and thomas bickering like COME ONNNN THERE COULD'VE BEEN A WHOOOLE SUB-SUBPLOT WHERE TOM AND BUDDY BORIS RECOGNIZE EACH OTHER SOMEHOW AT SOME POINT BUT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW
-TOM COULD'VE RECOGNIZED HIM EVEN AS BRUTE BORIS AFTER HENRY KILLS HIM and allison too but TOMMMMMMM😭😭😭😭😭CAN ANYONE HEAR MEEEEE
extra hints in the game like certain phrases and mannerisms of his (ink/glowing ink writings like his "i'm outta here!" written in certain locations or like. boris being clumsier as he walks/carrying around keys/scavenging for food [kind of like in the start of chapter 3], etc.)
-i also think that the connection that buddy boris (and just boris in general) has with food can connect with wally as well bc of the audio log where he's like "Omg 💖 Cake 💖just for me! Don't Tell Anyone Though. Our little secret. 😝" or the bit in the handbook where he finds some "churros" i Guess
there's also a LOT of potential for there to be a whole OTHER subplot where sammy could have found him one day and hadn't recognized him bc All The Boris Clones Look The Same, but buddy boris recognized sammy and there could be a whole conversation with henry and sammy abt him and dropping hints at it and blahblahblah etc etc.
-sammy probably could've mentioned him* at some point too even if he hadn't seen buddy boris as like a "hey.. i knew that fuckass guy.. wtf" (*and i know he mentions wally in the hot topic takeover thing on twitter from a while ago but i mean like in the actual game)
i think that the fact of boris being a Non-Verbal King™ would also be a funny contrast to how many god damn audio logs wally has. like Shut yuor mouth fucker /REF
the bit in chapter 3 where boris knows every nook and cranny of the studio and how to navigate the vent system could also lead to wally's nature of having a lot of knowledge of the layout to the building (due to being a janitor/running errands for people, similar to buddy) + he mentions staying in late to freshen up some offices so he might've explored more using that time as well because his personality shows he's a bit of a nosy guy
ALSO a stretch, but wally's first audio log in chapter one being fairly close to the first boris corpse displayed could've been a good foreshadow to his revival as buddy boris (and where the theory originated i'm pretty sure once ch2 came out)
the saferoom at the start of chapter 3 could've also been a great place to reference him (they could've put his hat from bendy royale in the shelf next to/on the hammock Can anyone hear me)
i also think that wally is supposed to be painted as an older guy?? so he probably already would've moved on from the studio due to leaving and starting his own business and having a family I Guess?????? idk but to me i think he'd be more of the college drop-out that thinks he's hot shit type of guy when in reality he doesn't know what a 2 + 2 is (ex. the audio log in batds where he's like "i was the best Student! Brickmore High! [tiktok bold emoji] These college bozos don't be knowin' shit!!"
-younger people are easier to manipulate like i talked abt earlier (especially someone like him that doesn't think before he Does Anything . boy has no thoughts)
wally also most likely would've known who henry was/was friendly with him while working there too at some point while henry was still at the studio pre-canon, so he probably recognized him throughout the cycle
i could ramble forever abt this bc it's such a strangely frustrating topic for me BUT in conclusion; i personally tbink that it would've been perfectly logical for wally to have been buddy boris (probably called somethig else), and buddy should've been a completely seperate character that would've done just as well on his own in the book instead of having a whole ass overarching plot for no reason?? and the "canonicity" of it is weirdly up for debate??? idk Watever thank you for coming to my tedtalk 😇😇Bye
⭐ !! bonus wally doodle dump since u made it this far !! seriously why r u Here ⭐

If there's one thing i annoyed as bendy series is that they never use cartoon physics to their advantage. I always thought that cartoon physics have a great potential for horror
I know and it sucks, and in addition to them not utilizing the horrors of toon logic, they seem to be slowly but surely scrubbing away the toon element of Bendy altogether; the 'HD' remake of the butchered gang look like hideous gremlins and sure, they do look scary, but now they lack the charm and intrigue of being a cartoon that's been turned into a monster.
The same thing happened to the Ink demon; separating the two components and turning them into an animalistic demon and a 'perfected' toon would be interesting, but the plot doesn't focus on that at all and seems to be used as an excuse to un-toon the Ink Demon, not realizing that without those cartoonish elements, without doing anything fun with him being made out of ink, he's just a monster made of goo.
If you ask me, there's this weird form of self-hate in the works of Joey Drew Studios themselves; They introduce characters only to toss them aside, they treat the characters who do stick around as jokes (aside from Joey, but his 'redemption' is... eh at best and frustrating at worst.), we're seeing less and less toon elements, there was almost no Wally at all in BATDR despite him being a prominent comic relief in BATIM, in fact most of the comic relief from BATDR seems to be easter eggs which are *hidden* elements, I dislike Dudley and think he's boring in execution but even I can admit that he got done dirty by the script not giving him any more foreshadowing than a doodle of him that's very easy to miss in the real world segment of the game, there's also the thing with the Bendy books being "not canon" which I think is stupid and if they wanted to go with an Alternate canon route, they should've said so at the very start.
It makes me respect almost every other Mascot Horror game so much more because while Garden of Banban isn't my cup of tea, at least its not treating its mascots like they should be ashamed of being mascots.

Easter Eggs/References from the new M&I Chapter!
Because I’m bored and I was on the road in a bus for around 17 hours or so, so I need to chill
Before opening this post, make sure you’ve read the chapter ;)
https://fishymom-art.tumblr.com/post/702477002226204672/metal-ink-extra-5-part-1
LET’S GOOOO!!!!
Tumblr media
1. Ah yes, the only book that exists in this universe XD Yea, “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” appears as an easter egg almost every time there is a book X)
Tumblr media
2. Of course I put myself into the chapter :D. I’m sitting at one of the tables during Milla’s show!
Tumblr media
3. In the same panel, there is a picture of Linda!
Tumblr media
4. Joey Drew’s actual quotes! “Quite a gal” will be repeated later in the full version of his quote + Susie’s called “quite a gal/an angel” regularly in this chapter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. This is a throwback to what Susie said in the first extra before leaving Daniel and Sammy alone as a set up X)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. This is a slight reference to a quote by Blackbeard from “Our Flag Means Death” - “Skin him first. And use the snail fork.”
Tumblr media
7. Straight up reference to the moment with Hackenbush in the part where he appeared for the first time :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. A clue that Norman’s name in the Golden Reality is Jason Bright.
Tumblr media
9. Lonely Angel music sheet in Sammy’s hands!
Tumblr media
10. Throwback to Nightmare Joey saying that all the good endings to his stories (aka the extra chapters) aren’t real.
Tumblr media
11. Another throwback to Chapter 6, where Henry tells Joey he’s leaving the studio.
Tumblr media
12. Small Nelly in the background. She is grey, while her Bendy Plush is yellow.
Tumblr media
13. Real quotes by Joey Drew!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(”Quite a gal”!)
Tumblr media
14. Milla touches her left side of the face that was disfigured when she was Susie Angel. She also cries only from the right eye, because in her ink form she didn’t have the left eye. She cries ink. Before that, she also talks in doubled voice (like Alice or Nightmares).
Tumblr media
15. Reference to Audrey asking Allison “What is an Ink Demon?” in BatDR :)))
Tumblr media
16. Joey is no one :(
Tumblr media Tumblr media
17. Also a reference to BatDR and the Cycle Breakers!
Tumblr media
18. A slight reference to Joey’s quote from BatDR “Once upon a time there was a bitter, old man”
Tumblr media
19. I think this is self-explanatory X)
Tumblr media
20. Allison and Susie are wearing outfits directly inspired by 1920′s fashion (raincoats and hats!)
Tumblr media
21. Another quote + yet another outfit directly inspired by 20′s fashion, this time her evening dress (and later gloves).
Tumblr media
22. Susie doing the touching her face thing like Milla (and then talking in doubled voice, like Alice)
Tumblr media
23. More Nelly, this time featuring an older Nelly too :)))
Tumblr media Tumblr media
24. A picture of Norman and Susie!
Tumblr media
25. Susie Angel here is in her outfit when she was cutting her hair in front of the mirror!
Tumblr media
26. Our girl correcting Angel by saying that she’s Alice Angel and not Susie and breaking the mirror.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
27. Mirror shards in the form of a heart :”(
Tumblr media
28. Nelly’s drawing Dapper Bendy!
Tumblr media
29. And of course, another Nelly and Joey parallel :DD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
30. The soundtrack contains the melody from Lonely Angel, as well as Play Called Life because of the Golden Reality :)))

Dungeons and Ink Demons
I never actually thought I'd do datamining in this blog, but I do adore datamining for other games, and I got... really bored, and really curious just now. So uh... here we are! Some texture snippets from the BATDR Dungeons and Dragons Easter egg! Not sure how to view models just yet but I sure as hell am going to try and figure it out some time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, there's also this file for what I think is a Jukebox selector. I can't remember if its used or not, but I don't think it is?

BSOTM REVIEW !!
I liked it !! Not loved or anything big like that but it was enjoyable and effective for what it is.
Things I personally liked -
The story was well executed for how small the game is. Since the game is meant to be a treat/starter for the fans between bigger, main games/spinoffs, they had to think about how to present the story in a good readable but interesting way that's in their budget for it, and they did !! I liked all story parts I remember. The age and time being told through a height chart on the wall was creative and the way they had the hallway outside change from school to studio was also good. I also liked the silhouettes, they added an artistic feel to the game despite being really simple. All of it was fairly creative and I liked how they composed each scene to be abstract but still clear. I feel like the story itself is also more of a blurb than a one off thing too, just explaining the main parts of it/perhaps even a backstory to what happened to Riley in gent. This has potential and it would definitely be something I'd like to see made into a more developed story down the line.
I think the can mechanics were fun too, not anything huge but nothing in this game really is.
Things I didn't like/would change -
Ragtime Guffie seems like a great guy but like. He doesn't Do anything. A lot of problems, even in batdr, are that characters don't have significance and are just There. What I would've done is maybe have him be a link or symbolism for something relating to Riley's story ? Maybe make him represent a parent of hers or something, maybe even get rid of him entirely. If he appears in a game in the future perhaps make him an easter egg in bsotm like the other teasers in a way.
The oldtime theatre was kinda useless ? It feels as if both the theatre and teaser tv room could've been one, so if I were to change that I'd make each teaser poster seen on screen just a poster in a single theatre room framed like upcoming movies/the toon promos in other games (and the One in bsotm) would be. I remember seeing that lone wolf was a physical poster like that but I feel the other games could've had the same treatment. I also think the screen itself was fairly useless and didn't show anything of value. I would've at Least had it play the bendy toons that already exist on it or even just add different glitchy things that appear each time you hit the screen. Maybe mix the two up and have the toons themselves glitch in various ways while showing off the messages like "submit" and "obey" between frames.
Having to walk into and through the darkness for a good minute to get to the open shack feels... unnecessary. It's interesting in concept somewhat but it's just a waste of time to walk all the way over. Maybe making them closer together would've helped ? Or just have one shack and something hidden in the area to break the wood panels with.
Having a jumpscare for pausing just doesn't feel right. What if someone Needs to pause the game for a break or for other important reasons and they just come back to their game being over in some way/in the beginning again (keep in mind I avoided any jumpscare from the ink demon so I am only assuming what likely happens). It just doesn't sit right with me. Also, the accessibility of the game is Not good at all. There are no warnings for the flashing lights or the themes of car crashes, and the lack of any settings can make the game impossible to play for some I'm sure. No brightness settings, sensitivity, flashing lights to be turned off, anything. What should've been done is Have warnings on the steam page and have those options in game too as the lack of these can cause serious harm to some people.
In Conclusion -
I enjoyed the game and the story was executed well, however, the other parts of the game were oftentimes unnecessary and the accessibility needs to be improved.

Secret Santa Lost One Confirmed
Alrighty, so I mentioned in my last post about encountering a giggly lost one on all fours scampering around with a Santa hat and a sack on his back, while running around in the Batdr winter seasonal update.
So after some trial and error I finally got him to pop up again after collecting several presents (I am unsure of what exactly makes him spawn, but for me I've got him to spawn 3 different times by collecting lots of presents, so it might be related)
While collecting presents if you hear a goofy giggle, he's showed up somewhere in the area you are in. (It's very distinct giggle similar to the giggle of the bucket sock puppet creature easter egg.) Chase after him until he stops running, then hit the pack on his back. He will then begin to run again, and once again you chase him until he stops, whack his pack, then rinse and repeat. After enough times, he'll finally go down.
Tumblr media
Once killed this guy drops a TON of slugs and when you loot his body you gain a winter hat. Enter into the menu and voilà-!
Tumblr media
Audrey is now sporting her very own Santa hat!

Thinking about The Siren (aka my self-insert oc for Dark Revival) again! :D
@neonsix67 got the Batdr game on console, and I briefly mentioned it, but we had like a 7 hour gaming spree and managed to get halfway through the story!
We had a lot of great moments, including but not limited to:
-> Running face-first into multiple Lost Ones
-> Jumping into an ink-pit instead of getting killed by Bendy
->Neon evading him multiple times somehow. (A few involve "You wouldn't hurt a girl in bed, would you?" While standing on Joey's bed, and he waited until she got off to kill us. As well as fast-traveling, getting the warning that he's arriving, and turning around + fast-traveling right back. Etc.)
->Apparently Piper comes out of the ink-shower things???
->Left Fisher in his lil locker. :)
->Neon hoping we get the death cutscene where Bendy stomps on us. (We, in fact, never did lmao-)
->Me screaming for no good reason at a Fisher on the other side of a crack in the wall we approached.
->Majora's Mask Easter egg didn't work :(
->Listening to the Keeper audio and a) mimicking their voices b) leading me to believe Sammy was the most recently caught CycleBreaker cuz there's something happening in The Lost Harbor.
Anyways, point is, The Siren used to be a member from the studio that worked as a stagehand initially, before she was casted in a holiday special with a Siren character.
Siren had stagefright in the cartoon, but in the end the cast helped her get over the stage fright and sing. Her singing voice was picked up by a recruiter from the cartoon, and she ended up leaving the studio for a singing career.
She was lured back long after her career took off, and ended up in the cycle like everyone else. (She starts as a searcher, then finds a few more memories after an accident and becomes more like herself, then her third variation is the most Siren-like.
Her Ink-thing is that she can see the glowing golden ink without the use of the seeing glass. A lot of the time, she uses that to guide her decisions. Along with that, she's particularly good at navigating through the ink, able to resist the voices and slip away from other grasping hands.
Nerfing her was easy too, because in every iteration she's a Siren. Her tail never full develops and is made of runny ink. She can't stay *outside* the puddles too long or she'll fall apart. Unlike every other soul, she thrives in the ink, and can't survive without it. (For her cyclebreakers moment, she literally has to be put in a bucket so she can't escape lmao.)
There's just a lot about her, but this is what I'm posting about for now. Just... shout-out to Neon for braving the studio + getting into my hyperfixation with me!!!♡

Random thoughts as I write out my FTB analysis/theory and finally get around to translating the BATDR Archives into a list of reading comprehension questions to celebrate no longer feeling like I'm on death's doorstep:
I can't believe I didn't notice sooner that most of the Easter eggs in BATDR are from firmly inside the two timeframes I estimated BATIM & BATDR are actually taking place (1978-1991 and 1974-1992). 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm ashamed. But at least my parents’ 1960s-1990s nerdoctrination did eventually kick in and has served a useful purpose roflolol (*found a list of BATDR secrets while looking for a screenshot of BATDR Borkis & got distracted reading* “…wait a second— Back to the Future? Mystery Science Theater 3000—? Come here, Google. I need to check some things”).
Rose experienced Joey's window story in reverse on multiple levels and I adore it so much.
Everyone realizes that Archie Boy was never actually a real-world human, right? Cause he fricking spells out that he's a Child of the Darkness/Machine for us out loud with his mouth multiple times and Evan did not react to him the way he should've if the Real World Gent company was actually doing what he claims they were. 😝
Nathan Sr. 100% saw Evan as a threat for multiple reasons and failed at getting him killed, succeeded at getting him fired, and then purposely caused his death in the most traumatic-for-Joey way possible.
I love you, Wilson. I love you so much. You were trying so hard for almost the entire duration of this story but Rose just wasn't paying enough attention.

I still feel a bit robbed that Borkis was just an Easter Egg in BATDR. But it makes sense at the same time. Imagine how cool it would’ve been to have him be part of the plot tho.
