oops I forgot I existed and haven't posted in a while, have a Sinny for your troubles
Tumblr media
(not sure where it fits in the lore of my AU yet, but its here!)
If you don't know who Sinny is, watch TetraBitGaming's BATIM Lost Bits video (specifically the first one)
Here's a link to that:

Note
i rlly liked ur adding things to batim post, could u do that for batdr?
I'm glad you liked my ideas! Here's a few I came up with for BATDR:
Little Devil Lounge
Give us more of the cannibalism thing that apparently happened - supposedly Chef Buck killed Andre and put his flesh in the food, but there's really no evidence for that besides the giant heart on the stove. Maybe there could be a room with more evidence of butchering bodies (meat freezer!). Bonus points if there's a puzzle related to dissecting a Lost One or something.
Atrium offices
More tunnels! More offices! More stuff to crawl through and dig through and search! I loved this part of the game, it felt so lived in and interactable. I don't have many notes on the content of the area, I just really want more of it.
Artist's Rest
That one audio log says there are parties, gambling and other unsavory activities happening there all the time, but the area is surprisingly sterile. Firstly, make the place more lived-in. There are a ton of Lost Ones in the area, what if they used Artist's Rest as their home?
Secondly, I'm imagining a secret area used by the demon worshippers, hidden away from the rest of the studio. Something that still has traces of the Ink Demon's following and Sammy. An audio log or note from someone asking how it's possible that Wilson defeated the demon- because the Ink Demon was all-powerful, right? How could he be defeated? The Ink Demon offered salvation, what does Wilson offer?
Amok's Sewer / Gent Tunnel
Honestly that whole section is... a mess. Just give us more build up to Amok. Show us Amok-themed graffiti. A Lost One praising Lord Amok in Artist's Rest. Just give us something.
Or, if that's not possible, more information about Gent. It's their tunnel, so we should see more signs of them and what their purpose is here.
Downtown
I actually really like the Downtown area. It's nicely laid out, and appropriately messy. I would have liked to have gone into more of the shops, I think.
Imagine going into the cinema and actually watching one of the cartoons!
Let us into at least one of the hotel rooms. I don't really know what should be there, but we should be able to get into one, somehow.
The timestable on the wall leading into the Downtown mentions a bunch of areas that we don't see. We wouldn't have to visit all of them, but even just seeing one would be fun.
Tumblr media
Like imagine visiting New Flesh. What the hell would even be there.
Gent Factory
Again, another good area in my book. But, considering their relationship with JDS (especially in Thomas's note), I'd like to see more Gent workers talking about JDS. Commenting on their ignorance to the Ink Machine's real purpose, the failure of the studio, something.
Thomas's desk, or office, or whatever.
Schematics for the Ink Machine! Plus more info for its intended purpose and what it can do.
Better yet, give us something from Alan Grey. If Gent is going to be the new evil company, we should get more of that.
Wilson's Mansion
Again, not many notes here. I really just want to see more of Betty. She mentions her room, and also that she's also part of a long line of experiments.
In-General Suggestions
More secret spots used by Grace - especially if these spots can be used to sneak past lots of Lost Ones.
More of Kay Lee's puzzles. Her audio log says "Here's my first hint" which implies there are more things hidden in the studio. That's a huge missed opportunity.
A scene with all four members of the Butcher Gang - For a game that used the Butcher Gang so much in the advertising, BATDR doesn't really use them that often. In BATIM, Chapters 3-5 each had an area/event that had all three of them together, which really made them feel like a gang. BATDR has them each show up separately- but this really dilutes them imo.
Imagine this: Audrey loses her Gent pipe (bonus points if it's partially/fully upgraded). After fending for herself without it, she discovers that it's been stolen by the Butcher Gang. In a claustrophobic cluster of offices, Audrey needs to sneak up on Piper to banish him if she wants to get it back. The puzzle involves setting off distractions in a specific order (possibly under a time crunch) to get him into the right spot for Audrey to banish him.
Piper has Audrey's pipe, which makes him extremely dangerous. He patrols the area. He can kill her in two hits.
Striker now patrols the vents, which are needed to access important areas to the puzzle. If he finds her, the only way to avoid dying is to get out of the vents.
Fisher still hides in lockers and other hiding spaces. There aren't many hiding spaces available, so listening carefully is key.
Slicer can still teleport around, and will attack Audrey if she stands out in the open for too long. She's also not fooled by hiding spots, so Audrey needs to keep moving.
Also, more ink powers! We get three but the one is really underwhelming.
Reach - like a sticky hand, but ink
Melt - melt into an ink puddle and hide on the spot!
Vision - Being able to see hidden golden messages (like with the Seeing Tool)
It's hard to keep things location-specific like I did in my other post, mostly because we don't spend much time in BATDR's locations. Still, this was fun to do :)

I feel like Bendy as a franchise has lost a lot of it's whimsy over the years. Back then, batim had such an interesting and fun aesthetic, chapter 3 and 4 especially almost felt like a Tim Burton stopmotion film in some ways. We used to have merch of playsets and toy axes, shirts with fun ideas and jokes behind them. Hell, even the characters themselves - the batim ink demon design, how the jds employees were all treated by the devs, the ways they acted and spoke too. The game focused more on the spiritual while still featuring mechanical, steampunk-esque environments and themes in moderation.
Nowadays, our merch is bland, overpriced and low quality with nothing but "mature"/trendy designs. No creativity like we used to have and much fewer toys only of batdr characters so far. The ink demon was given a new design and the old one is made fun of for looking too "goofy" by the devs now and has a redesign (likely going to look nothing like him) waiting to be revealed already. Old characters are barely featured in game anymore and the new direction focuses on the sci-fi and mechanical themes while almost entirely scrapping the spiritual and religious ones. Hell, even the environment is more realistic and the stories are being made "darker" according to the devs.
Back then, Bendy used to have this whimsical charm. Sure, it wasn't too scary at least for me, but if given the chance it could've balanced the slightly unserious and silly ideas with the horror meant to scare you well. It just feels like the devs, especially Mike are ashamed of their original creation and are pushing the idea of "maturity" way too hard into the series in an attempt to leave it all behind. I like the idea of having serious and important stories and themes in Bendy !! I like the idea of being mature with the series, but to truly be mature it should know when it can be and should be sillier. To be mature is to know when to be serious and when to be fun, and Bendy as a series is acting like a teenager trying to look more grown up instead.
I wish we could go back to the days before batdr or at least bring them back.

I’ve never really been a fan of the whole “Joey Drew redemption arc” that BATDR tried to push. To me, Joey Drew is one of those villains that not only doesn’t deserve to be redeemed, but when you really look back at the game, the REAL Joey Drew never redeemed himself. Joey went to the grave having never done anything to correct all the harm and wrong he did in his life. His memory, a simple apparition within the world of the machine, tried to correct his wrongs, or at least behave more favorably, but nothing he’s said in the game matters (the Ink Demon had a very fair point in saying his words were wasted, because they were. Absolutely nothing he said or could’ve ever said was going to be enough to change anything, because he literally couldn’t).
Tumblr media
This also brings me to another thought, and that’s in regard to the Ink Demon’s motivations. The reason he remained cryptic while speaking to Audrey, deliberately leaving his intentions unclear, and why he was so clearly angry at her wanting to reset the cycle (and erasing all of his progress). Yes, the Ink Demon is very self-serving, nihilistic, and unsympathetic, absolutely, but he is a very complex character (I think) with actual motive behind his actions. This is an entity who has never had control or been genuinely loved. The Ink Demon (as I like to believe) kills people and rules the cycle as a means of control and power. It’s the one way he manages to have control over anything in his existence.
Idk, it’s so beautifully tragic to me, but also clearly terrible of him to be this way. Obviously his actions shouldn’t be condoned to irl situations (I seriously shouldn’t have to say this), but it’s possible to sympathize with the tragically miserable antagonist while realizing that nothing he does is morally praiseworthy.

Bendy and the ink Machine/Dark Revival religion fanfiction, but it's flipped to the perspective of the Lost Ones. (ex. The Ink Demon = Savior and Audrey = Devil)

Olivia Combs Ref Sheet!!
Tumblr media
I finally have her ref sheet done!!! Sorry for not making one sooner!!
Now that I have a ref sheet for her, I can talk about her more! I’m gonna copy paste her info from my notes app lol
-23
-Female
-Irish American
-5’8” (The same height as Jack!)
-Nickname: Oli
-Works in the Film Department as a reel inspector.  She basically goes over all the film reels and checks for errors or problems before they can be sent off to air (I’m not sure if this was an actual job back then, but it seems fitting. Joey was a perfectionist after all).
-Gets along really well with Norman Polk.  Basically besties, as they both relate to being exhausted and fed up with the stuff Joey pulls.
-Gets along really well with Jack Fain as well.   She enjoys spending time with him, since his positivity balances out her aloof nature.
-Gets along really well with Sammy Lawrence.  She likes to mess with him sometimes, but only because she feels like he needs to lighten up a bit.  They both get along because they are pretty stubborn.
-Rivalry with Lacie Benton. This studio ain’t big enough for two girls with mechanic skills.  They like to talk smack about each other. They got into a fight in the basement once, which Sammy promptly stopped Wally from getting involved in (dude wanted to break it up).
-Pretty neutral relationship with Thomas Connor.  They respect each other, but they don’t really talk much.
-Enjoys Wally Franks company.  He’s a funny guy, and they would definitely get drinks together after work. Their relation went down the drain after Wally became the Ink Demon and she came back to the studio. She’s trying her best to make him snap back to reality.
-Pretty good friends with Shawn Flynn.  They’re both Irish, so they like similar things there, and love talking about their homeland.
-Neutral relationship with Susie Campbell.  She exists, not much else to say about it. Olivia does like her voice though.  Aware that Sammy loves he, and likes to tease him about it. After she comes back to the studio, she thinks she’s insane, but willing to try and help her.
-Doesn’t like Joey Drew at ALL.  Would probably murder him in the streets if he wasn’t signing the paychecks. Hates him even more after realizing what happened after she left.
-Didn’t really know Henry.  Knew of him, but very little about him.  They would probably get along pretty well though. During the second part of the AU (coming back to the studio) they tend to be a bit at odds due to Henry not trusting Norman, Jack, and Sammy, and her not liking how he’s trying to be leader all the time. They’ll work it out though.
-Neutral Relationship with Bertrum Peidmont.  They know of each other, but thanks to working in completely different departments, they don’t talk much.  She doesn’t really like how stuck up he is though.  He is aware of her and Lacie’s rivalry.
-Neutral positive relationship with Grant Cohen.  They understand the feeling of being screwed over by Joey, so they bond over that.  She does like to make fun of him for being British though.
-Quit before everything went down hill and Joey started messing with the ink on a larger scale.
-Surprisingly good at mechanics.  She often fixes miscellaneous things around the studio just because she can, or because she wants to make them run better.
-Might have Trypanophobia, the fear of needles.  Spiders, heights, the dark, she’s good with those, but she draws the lines at needles. It’s not really plot important, but I think it’d be funny to see her absolutely getting all antsy when the crew is trying to deal with a very insane Susie.
-Definitely the type to hold grudges.  She will always remember when you wronged her.  Even if it’s petty, she’ll remember.
-Likes to call people by nicknames or shortened versions of their name sometimes.  Like, she would definitely call Norman; Norm, and Sammy; Sam.  It’s just her little way of showing she cares.
-She has a very slight Irish draw to her words.  She sounds American, but tinges of her Irish Accent show through a bit.
-Favorite kind of music is definitely swing.  She’d probably lose her crap if she ever heard electro swing. In modern times, she would probably really like anything by Will Wood.
-Enjoys bitter and savory foods.  While she does like sweets, she loves the kick salt gives.  Her favorite food is probably pretzel bites, thanks to their filling nature and are easy to eat on the job.
-Takes her coffee battery acid black.  If she can’t see her reflection in the swill, then it wasn’t made right.  Although, she probably wouldn’t mind a bit of milk in it on some days.
-Enjoys horror/thriller movies.
-Her favorite animals are probably bats and cats.  Yes, a very dark and edgy choice, but she just thinks they’re slick.  In addition, she would also really like mudskippers.
-Favorite kind of weather is rainy.  She likes it when it’s just lightly raining, and she doesn’t need an umbrella.  However, she also loves it when it’s just absolutely pouring outside, like to the point where you could think it’s night outside.
-Her eyes light resistance is kind of jacked up at times.  Working in the pitch dark of a studio room with no light other than a projector running a cartoon definitely does something to your eyes.  It takes her a bit to adjust to the light whenever she comes out.
-She’s prone to migraines, since the sudden shift from pitch black to a lit room when she leaves her workstation hurts her head.
-She came back to the studio 5 years later (Yeah, it’s supposed to be 30, but this is my AU lol) due to her crushing guilt finally getting the best of her. She felt bad for quitting and leaving her friends to deal with Joey, since literally a year after she left, Joey screwed over everyone in the studio.
-Has a light scar across her shoulder from being a stupid kid.
-Hates anything frilly, like a dress or skirt. She would probably throw a fit if Susie offered to do her hair for one of Joey’s parties. She values comfort over style any day.
-Voice Claims (What I think she would sound like, or as close as I can get!):
Sargent Calhoun (Wreck It Ralph)
Mai (ATLA)
Rosa Diaz (Brooklyn 99)
Sorry if this is really long. I just have a lot to say about her!! If you read through to the end, you are a trooper lol

Wow that anon is extremely rude, nothing more chronically online and pathetic than seeing someone criticize something and thinking surely if I tell them to shut up and go touch grass they'll listen. If ur bond to this franchise is so unhealthy u take anyone saying something negative abt it as an attack u need to take some time offline lol
anyways I would love to hear more of ur Bendy takes particularly the critical ones cause I've been in ur shoes being told to shut up cause I was being negative KDFGHKDFGHSD and it's nice to see more people willing to talk about Bendy's issues <3
Yeah it was a weird message to wake up to. Little surprised there are people who still think that sending anon hate is productive.
But yeah! I've got a lot more analysis ideas and stuff I want to talk about, and I'm excited to work through my ideas and share them. If you're up for it I'd love to compare notes with you to see what we agree on :)
