if (for some reason) you need a refresher on everything that happened, here's a post from a mutual that summarizes things really well

my thoughts: it was a very mixed bag.

what went well:

hex brand merch! it's pretty high quality (if expensive) merch, so it'll be nice to get something good.

color cartoons from archgate! could be fun :)

sotm updates! realistically it wasn't much of anything, but it still made me happy

nice doberart merch!

what was mid:

console releases

steam keys

note: if you're excited aboutt that, good for you, i'm just saying i don't really care much about it

what was disappointing:

the cage being put on ice

no lone wolf news

no game news, in general, or anything related to the movie

and the disappointing this are... really disappointing, to say the least. the bendy discord is saying lone wolf is finished, they're just working on ports (can't find an actual source on that though), so that gives me some hope. but we didn't even get a single teaser for lone wolf, or anything concrete relating to bendy 3.

don't get me wrong, it was fun to see how the day unraveled. but it looks like we're going back to waiting.

B:SOTM gave us new updates ?? Included a lot of Bendy gloves on the ground and two ink models from Bendy Nightmare Run. So I guess they're gonna be canon ? Maybe ?

B:SOTM also included a sign saying "Sometimes dreams shatter." Ok... a bit bleak but I'm sure it's for lore right ?

Bendy: The Cage removed from copyright ? Replaced with "Bendy Cartoons" What's happening here ?

And... hey wait a minute-

Bendy: The Cage has been shelved. On 414 day.

I've got some things to say.

Critiques under cut.

Today felt like a lot and nothing as a whole. Lots of things announced and posted but it's mostly just. The same game getting new digital and physical releases, steam keys so around 100 fans get free games, and not much else.

The cartoons seem promising !! The shirt designs seem pretty good, unlike the Halloween ones we got so I'd say that's an improvement. However...

Bendy: The Cage has been shelved.

This feels like a massive insult to fans. Hyping the game up and advertising it to be something so big, only to, on THE DAY dedicated to celebrating Bendy as a franchise, meant to be POSITIVE, ruining it all by saying "hey sorry the game you ALL were looking forward to is being shelved in favour of others :)". feels like one Hell of a way to lose trust in your fans AND like an awful marketing decision. Couldn't you have announced it even a DAY later ?

Despite it all ? I feel pretty optimistic about it. I'm excited for B3ndy to be good and to use the mechanics and story they created for The Cage, and I'm sure it'll get released One Day. The main issue comes from the fact that JDS ALREADY has a poor reputation with how long BATDR took to release and how long we've waited for Lone Wolf despite it being "set to release" from January-March which I'm sure you can tell have already long passed.

Curious to see what others think of all this. Hope you all had a nice 414 despite the whole Cage thing.

Meatly update on The Cage

It IS true. The Cage has been put on ice.

The reason?

Honestly, we loved what was being made so much while working on it that we realized that a lot of the ideas and mechanics were far too exciting for just a spinoff game. This was Bendy 3 material!

The Cage was an excellent springboard project for cool stuff. So a LOT (if not MOST) of The Cage has been rolled into Bendy 3 and not lost. You will get to experience its best creepy goodies. That said, the story obviously will be saved for another time. :)

I know there will be disappointment with this on some level. I am very sorry. It was not an easy decision to make, but it will focus our efforts on making Bendy 3 delight, scare, and excite BENDY fans like never before. Thanks for understanding!

As Sammy said: Love requires sacrifice.

You'll understand when you play Bendy 3 in the future. :) For now, sometimes all you have to look forward to is death and taxis.

My take on the Butcher Gang! :D

I have this inexplicable urge to add animal characteristics to everything all the time forever. Sue me, it's fun :p

I decided to make Barley a goblin shark (due to their nose shape+beard like structure) and add some size dynamics! Unfortunately, I don't think he can swim...

I made Charley a chimp as well. (though, if the rest of the fandom is anything like me, they already thought he was a monkey..) Chimps are genuinely terrifying when angry and I think he fits :) plus he's so dapper in his little vest aww

My friend suggested an octopus or squid for Carley, so I went with a Ghost Octopod! (;p) She spits ink on people when irritated and can squeeze out of any tight situation :p

Edgar was already peak design so I didn't really change him LOL I love that spider sm
