listening to mistilteinn, tree crown without a ruler without all the panic of fighting the master crown is making tear up rn??? because for something that plays during a fight to the death with the entity that possessed magolor and the battle being staged in a place where fire is raining from the sky, it sounds so oddly hopeful during the majority of it. and i suppose it's reflective of the fight itself.

the master crown fight, at its core, is magolor's fight to atone for his actions and turn over a new leaf in his life. to do that, he needs to confront the power he failed to control and show it that he can be stronger than it with his own power. he can rise above it and be powerful without it twisting, corrupting and hollowing him out into a shell of himself. and if he can overcome the obstacles he's faced with less than all of his power, he can and will take down the monster in front of him. there's a brief moment of doubt, but if he keeps fighting, he'll surely win.

and the castle village leitmotif from the team kirby clash games mixed in!!! once i noticed it, it's managed to consistently fuck me up because magolor's shot at escaping another dimension and starting over is right before him!!! it's right there, he's almost there!!! there's a new dimension practically waiting for him and cheering him on!!!
