I feel like the kiss that Barry mentioned in the GQ interview between him and Jacob wasn't a delete scene. They did that shit with their own free will.

Caitlin : So… I’ve seen you’ve been spending a lot of time with Snart recently.
Barry : No, Cait, it's not what it looks like, I swear.
Cisco : Oh really? So no reason for us to be jealous?
Barry : No! You two are the only one for me.
Caitlin : Is that so?
Barry : I promise! Len and I are just dating, okay? He’s my boyfriend.
Cisco : So there are no best-friends-feelings involved?
Barry : You are still my two and only best friend! He’s just the love of my life, nothing more!
Caitlin and Cisco : But we're still the platonic love of your life, right?
Barry : Of course guys!
Cisco and Caitlin : Bar...

i know that you write more about the flash/ legends than arrow but what do you think about diggle and lyla? or even the suicide squad eps with them and deadshot, cupid, etc?
Overall, I really like Dig and Lyla.
Dig is an absolute favorite of mine and he has put up with sooo much of Oliver's bullshit over the seasons, but he still sees Ollie as his found family and I was glad that he got to see Oliver one last time on the final season of the Flash. I do think he got robbed by having the Green Lantern option taken away when what was going to be his spin off show got taken away. There are times when the writing for him is inconsistent, but one of the most consistent parts of the arrow verse was the inconsistent writing so... *shrug* it is what it is.
I'm less fond of Lyla than of John, but I still enjoy her character. And I do see ARGUS as being an overall better and more ethical organization under her leadership. I get why Barry and Team Flash trust ARGUS under her leadership, it's not just because Oliver vouches for her but because she does clean up a lot of Waller's worst practices like forcibly conscripting missing persons like Oliver or the suicide squads. (I know the Ghost Initiative gets reactivated later, but I haven't seen those episodes, so I don't know how Lyla handles the team there. And the Arrow wiki doesn't clarify if they're still sticking bombs in people's necks.) I do think she got screwed over somewhat in the Red Skies Crisis, but I'm of mixed opinions on how that x-over event was handled.
As for the suicide squad episodes... it's complicated. On principal, I really hate the idea of suicide squads - criminals or not, supervillains or not, it is wildly unethical and immoral to be sticking bombs in people's necks to coerce them into doing dangerous jobs and I have no doubt this practice in canon is what inspired Lewis Snart to put a bomb in Lisa's neck to coerce Leonard into working with him. It's very much something that the 'good guys' should not be party to. It's the sort of thing they should be fighting against.
Lyla continuing to work with ARGUS despite it utilizing suicide squads - her loyalty to Waller despite these and other ethical nightmares Waller treats as totally normal things for ARGUS to participate in - is probably a big part of why I'm less fond of her than Dig. She does reform things later on, but her complicity is very uncomfortable before her promotion. For Dig (and Oliver) working with ARGUS isn't really something there's much choice in. As a vigilante himself, Dig knows ARGUS could easily justify arresting him and so his work with ARGUS isn't entirely voluntary though he is also doing it out of love and respect for Lyla as well. It's a messy situation and while I don't necessarily agree with Dig's choices I do think he tries to make the best of a bad situation.
That said, I do enjoy the episodes themselves. They provide a wealth of character development for Dig and Deadshot - the almost friendship that is reluctantly forged between John and the man who thinks he killed John's brother (and John thinks killed his brother) is fantastically done. Even Floyd's death is fairly well handled by the show writers considering the circumstances under which the real world decision to remove him from the Arrow-verse came from. (Deadshot being a character tapped for the movies made him suddenly off limits for the tv verse so he got written out permanently.)
I think the Suicide Squad episodes originally worked specifically because of Diggle and Lawton. So I can't really speak to what happened with the reactivated 'Ghost Initiative' in S7 since I still haven't watched that season. I don't know if they still had the explosive implants or not - I'd hope not, that Lyla would be better than that. Especially since this is the organization Cisco leaves Team Flash to work for; after removing the explosive from Lisa, I can't imagine Cisco being okay with knowingly working for an organization that creates Suicide Squads when it's convenient for them. But I can't say I'd be surprised - disappointed, but not surprised - to learn Lyla did treat the reactivated Ghost Initiative as a Suicide Squad similar to how Waller did. And if that is the case? I just kind of have to assume Cisco had no idea.
I can't say I have strong opinions about Cupid or the other Suicide Squad members on the show. Floyd's the one that really stands out to me. Cupid was a character I mostly found annoying; her obsession with romantic love just does not click as an interesting motive to me. Likely in part because I'm aromantic, which makes Carrie feel to me like a caricature of the perils of amatonormativity. And I couldn't really name any of the other Suicide Squad members off the top of my head - I had to look them up on the Arrow wiki - so that goes to show how little impact they really had on me when I last watched those episodes.

After Lena finds out Kara’s Supergirl, she cuts everyone out of her life, especially Kara.
Kara, of course, discovers just then that she might possibly have feelings for Lena.
To get away and figure herself out, she goes to Earth-1. Barry & Oliver have always given her good advice, right?
They try to help, really. Oliver gets them into a strip club to help her test her attractions, and it’s the most awkward 10 minutes of any of their lives. Barry takes them to Central City’s hottest gay bar, but Oliver has to spend all of his time politely turning people down while Barry circles the tables as Kara’s way too enthusiastic wingman.
In the end, they just talk it out with her, and the group hug at the end is just as teary-eyed and emotional as if they’d just saved the world, again.

Why the hell didn’t Oliver go to Barry’s bachelor party??
To be honest this question has been on my mind ever since I saw the newest episode of Flash. Because, with all due respect, it just doesn’t make any sense. Especially when Felicity went to Iris’s one. Let’s take a look at Iris’s friendship with Felicity and maybe you’ll understand why it bothers me.
Iris and Felicity meet in 1x04 of Flash for the first time.
Tumblr media
And of course that they share more scenes throughout this episode. But, unfortunately, the rest of them is just Iris secretly shipping Felicity with Barry.
Tumblr media
Then of course that wonderful Trivia night at Jitters comes. Where, again, Iris is rooting for them.
Tumblr media
And the next time we see them bonding is in 1x08 of Flash where it’s completely unknown to us what they are talking about. But they seem to have a lot of fun so I guess that’s what counts.
Tumblr media
And the last time we see them interacting before 4x05 is when Felicity and Ray comes to Central City in 1x18 of Flash.
Tumblr media
They even share a hug! Good for them. Their friendship is clearly thriving.
However, that’s about it when it comes to their scenes. Maybe they share other scenes which I don’t know of or we could say that their friendship could have been growing this whole time without either of shows telling us. Fair enough. I have nothing against the fact that Felicity was in that episode. But I strongly loathe the fact that Oliver wasn’t.
Because when it comes to his and Barry’s scenes, there is no way they are not friends. And much less not as close as Felicity and Iris are.
Because although their beginning was not exactly the smoothest one, they pulled through and are now very close.
Because Barry gave Oliver his mask, which he still wears after all this time.
Tumblr media
Because Oliver wasn’t willing to give up that one time when Barry was on his little rampage. And he still believed in his “friend”.
Tumblr media
And when it was already over, the two of them still managed to chuckle like everything was okay. And Oliver was still willing to support Barry in walking. Even though he must have been feeling some pain as well.
Tumblr media
Because of how Oliver emphasizes the fact he is always there for Barry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because of that time when Oliver didn’t have faith in himself and Barry was the one to prove him wrong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And how he told him they could both inspire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because of that time when Oliver claimed he wasn’t a hugger, but they still hugged in the end. <3 It’s still one of my favorite scenes of them. <3
Tumblr media
Because of how they went (*coughs “on a date” coughs*) to that bar at the end of last crossover and shared their heart-to-heart talk. Because that’s definitely not what friends do, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We can’t also forget how Oliver was defending Barry when everyone else had turned their backs on him. And how he was supporting him the whole crossover.
And last but not least.... because of that one time when Barry didn’t think he could be the hero everyone deserved and he came (of all people) to Oliver.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oliver Queen inspired Barry to name himself the Flash!!! So it’s clear that Barry cares deeply about him and what he thinks of him. That’s a fact.
Those are not all the scenes they’ve shared of course, but I think it’s enough to prove my point. And I’m sorry but no one can seriously convince me that Oliver and Barry are not friends by now. Barry is no longer just Oliver’s protege who needs to learn from him. They have something special between them. And their friendship is definitely stronger than the one of Felicity and Iris.
I know that Oliver would be in no way put in the newest episode of Flash because of reasons, but he could’ve been at least invited to that party. He could’ve shared a phone call with Barry of how he was sorry he couldn’t come. Or they could’ve just mentioned him once for all I care. Anything would be enough for me. But I guess luck was not on my side.
Anyway, this is just my opinion, so you’re free to disagree of course. I just felt the need to share this. Sorry that the gifs are shitty but it was the first time I tried making them XD. And thank you for reading this. It means a lot.

Sara x Queen!Fem!Reader

The music faded away as the two of you hurried out of the event. The music was loud and the food was decadent. You wanted to go somewhere quiet and Sara was more than happy to come with you. The two of you managed to slip past your security and flee into the night with cries of “Miss Queen! Miss Lance.” Giggles filled the air as you managed to escape down a side road. Arms linked together as you took a moment to stroll around as if the two of you could have been anybody.
“I love you (Y/N)!” Sara had said through a laugh as you snuck down another road towards her home. It was a Queen family event for something or another. You lost count of the events your mother threw and no longer bothered keeping track of what they were for. As long as they had good food and alcohol you would show up.
Your father had been pulling away from the family and between your siblings being off the rails and your mother's hold on your schedule, you rarely paid attention to what was going on. Why worry yourself when you’d wake up to someone handing you your breakfast, dressing you and taking you directly where you need to go? “I love you too Sara! You’re my best friend and I couldn’t survive in this ridiculous city without you.” You said through a laugh. Her smile fell for a moment but you’d had a few drinks and didn’t notice. The two of you made it through the city and to her apartment. The two of you spent the night and by the time morning came someone was knocking on the door to escort you to some kind of store opening.
“Duty calls.” You had sighed and left Sara.
That was the last time you saw her before she got on the boat with Oliver. You felt slightly betrayed that she would run away with him. But it was clear to you that the way you felt was nothing to how Laurel felt. Your friendship with the Lance’s vanished overnight and you found yourself mourning alone for your father, brother and friend. You never got an answer as to why she went with Oliver. Star city wasn’t the same without her. You moved as soon as your mother’s clutch on you slipped. Moving as far as central Central City you invested in several businesses and managed to find a lab that you funded as well. Finally having the freedom to do more than smile for pictures and cut ribbons you managed to develop several life-changing pieces of tech.
*************************
“It’s no problem Cisco I just need to drop this off first. If Palmer labs agree it’s in the final development stages it could be put to work. I might be able to meet half the food needs of Central city.” You said as you carefully carried your tech to your car.
“I know. Sorry. It’s a big night for you.” Cisco muttered. You heard him shuffling on the other end of the phone while you balanced yours on your shoulder and carefully secured the tech in the back of your car.
“I think Ray said he might be able to stop by and check the machine himself so I’ll ask if he’ll come by with me and take a look.” You offered. Cisco had been asking for your help with something he was developing for Barry. “I’ll call you in an hou-.”
“(Y/N)? (Y/N)?” Cisco called having heard a whirring noise and the phone clattered to the floor.
A massive bright light had engulfed you and you found yourself high up close enough to the edge of a building to almost toppling over. Someone grabbed you from behind, snatching at the back of your lab coat.
“Easy Doc. It’d be no fun to get you millions this way.” A family voice said.
“Snart.” You grumbled and frowned at him with disapproval. “Is this one of your schemes?” You asked.
“No. I’m afraid this scheme is mine.” A newcomer said. It was then you turned and noticed several people around on the rooftop. You weren’t listening to the man who introduced himself as Rip first. Snart was bickering with him and it wasn’t a conversation you were interested in. You had already started trying to figure out exactly where you were. Your eyes fell on someone who was staring at you. The dark and the cold made a mist in the air and the flair of unfamiliar lights made it hard to see.
“Sara?” You said quietly. You hadn’t been home in years. You’d been home to visit Oliver but then you’d found it still didn’t feel like home. No one had breathed a word of Sara. Maybe she had asked them not to. The look in her eyes told you as much.
“(Y/N).” She answered. That was all there was time for. Snart and Mick became rather rowdy and your attention was drawn upwards and out over the city. It shifted and changed as Rip Hunter explained that the group could save the world. You tried your best to focus on what he was saying but if it meant being with Sara again. You’d travel anywhere.

Clandestine Meetings End in Longing Stares | O.Q
My Masterlist | Request Guidelines | Send a Request
Pairing: (Anti) Barry Allen x reader, Oliver Queen x reader
Request: “Part 2 [To The Worst That Could Happen] seems idle rn 😭” | Requested by @ ciarrauchiha (On Wattpad)
A/N: Re-reading the fic, I’m honestly kind of surprised that a part two wasn’t requested earlier since it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. This is kind of an AU where Oliver isn’t in jail or exiled from Star City or anything like he was during the 7th season, when this fic takes place. I'd recommend reading Part 1 before reading this or else it might get a bit confusing.
Summary: After Barry finds out about you and Oliver’s relationship before you could break the news yourself, he finally agrees to meet you so you can explain.
Warnings: Rocky friendship
Word Count: ~1.9k
▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣
Idly stirring creamer into the black coffee in front of you, you picked up the ceramic mug and took a sip, only to wince at the remaining bitterness of the drink.
Glancing at the clock that ticked away on the diner wall, you sighed upon seeing that over half an hour had passed since you originally sat down.
You had woken up that morning enveloped in Oliver’s arms as he slept, which was a rare occurrence in itself considering your boyfriend's usual tendency to wake up earlier than the sun and go work out.
However, instead of taking that uncommon opportunity to sleep in with the man you loved, you had checked your phone and was met with a text from Barry, replying to the request you had made two weeks ago when he found out that you and Oliver were dating.
You had asked him if he was available to meet up so you could explain. And admittedly, the day after you shattered your friendship with him was probably too soon, but you couldn’t wait.
So, when he finally replied after fourteen restless days, he texted, asking to meet you at some diner in the middle of nowhere. Not minding the location, knowing that you both had memories in every other restaurant, you carefully slipped out of your boyfriend’s bed in favor of meeting your best… well, former best friend.
You knew how it sounded. But you didn’t care.
Plus, you’re sure that Oliver will understand… probably.
With a pitying smile on her face, the waitress held up the coffee pitcher, silently asking if you wanted a refill, no doubt assuming that you were stood up.
And while she wasn’t exactly wrong, you still shook your head ‘no’.
However, just as you were losing hope, the bell of the door rang as someone opened it. And your head shot up to see the scarlet speedster himself, out of uniform of course, only forty-two minutes later than he promised.
His lips were pressed in a tight line as he slid into the booth seat in front of you, and in the corner of your eye you saw the waitress smile at you being joined by someone.
“Hey,” he offered, placing his intertwined hands on the table.
You gave Barry a small smile, “Hi.”
Opening and closing his mouth a couple times, Barry finally found his wording as he spoke, “I didn’t actually think you were going to come.”
“Well you definitely gave me ample time to change my mind,” you chuckled.
At that, Barry’s lips shifted into a smile before he quickly wiped it off his face, seeming to remember why you both were here.
Looking around the small diner, he only noticed an older couple, the waitress, and a cook in the back.
“Where’s Oliver?”
You gave a nervous laugh, “Do you honestly think he’s hiding behind the building or something, ready to shoot you in the back if you cross any lines? This place is pretty empty for a Saturday morning. But then again, there doesn’t look to be anyone within twenty miles.”
At Barry’s unamused stare, you figured he actually wanted an answer.
“He’s still at home.”
Barry hummed at your answer, his noise having no distinguishable meaning. Walking over to your table, the waitress poured him a cup of coffee, leaving a similar amount of creamer.
Giving a small ‘thanks’, the waitress left you and Barry to simmer in awkward silence, and you almost wish you ordered some food so at least the sound of your chewing could fill the space.
But alas, you and him could only listen to the faint clatter of cutlery on plates while you both looked at each other, wondering who would admit fault for the whole incident.
Sighing, you broke the silence, “I promise I was going to tell you about Oliver.”
“When?”
“After our first date.”
“Which was…?” he trailed off, prompting you to fill in the blank.
You paused for a second, knowing he wouldn’t like your answer. “Well… we only really started dating five months ago. But, well, we went out a few times last year after Earth-X.”
Just as you expected, Barry fell silent at your words. You couldn’t even count how many times you had seen him and opportunities you had to tell him in the past five months. And if you had just done it, you could have saved him 152 days of longing and working up the courage to ask you out.
Alas, you couldn’t go back in time… Well, you could. But you shouldn’t.
So, you remained silent as you sat across from him in some deserted diner as it felt like the person which you had always depended on the most was shifting allegiances.
Breaking the silence he created, Barry’s expression remained neutral while he aimlessly stirred his coffee.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he finally asked, verbalizing the golden question you knew was coming.
And you wish you had a better answer, or at least one that didn’t make you feel so… in the wrong. But all you could say was, “I didn’t want to lose you. I-I knew that you wouldn’t like me being with someone else. I just… didn’t quite know why.”
“So instead you chose to lead me on?” Barry scoffed, but you couldn’t even blame him since you knew that was exactly what you did, despite it being unintentional.
You knew that nothing you could say could make him feel better, so instead you remained silent, letting him express his betrayal.
“So… what’s next for you and Oliver?” he spoke, his former mentor’s name leaving a sour taste in his mouth. But then again, that might have just been from the jealousy crawling out the speedster’s stomach onto his tongue.
You shrugged your shoulders, “We don’t have a solid plan or anything, it hasn’t been that long.”
Barry quietly scoffed, but you heard.
Furrowing your eyebrows, you asked, “What is that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing, I just- nevermind.”
“No, no. Tell me.”
“I just, didn’t think you would be okay with his… lifestyle.”
You crossed your arms, not quite understanding, and at your perplexed look, Barry explained, “You know, he has certain images he likes to uphold. First, he was a ‘ladies man’ by day, ‘mysterious vigilante’ by night. Then, he was the ‘handsome businessman-mayor’ slash ‘emerald hero’. Now he’s ‘Mr. Ready to Settle Down’ plus ‘normal guy who occasionally puts his life in danger to cope with retirement’.”
He added, “I just didn’t think you would want someone who’s a completely different person every other year.”
This time, it was you who scoffed, much louder than intended. “Barry, just because you’ve been the same goodie-two-shoes Forensic Scientist, now with superpowers, your entire life, doesn’t mean everyone else also stays the same. People change.”
“I just don’t understand!” Barry exclaimed, drawing a couple looks from the older couple at the other side of the diner.
Not wanting to cause a scene, you lowered your voice, “Yes, Barry, I chose Oliver Queen over you. It’s not a completely incomprehensible decision.”
Barry’s eyebrows furrowed in frustration as he leaned back in his seat, trying to create some distance between you both.
“I-I don’t think I can be your friend anymore,” he sighed, mild anger in his eyes but with an uncharacteristic calm in his voice.
You scoffed in disbelief, “Come on Barry, you're not my first choice for once in my life and now you can’t bear to see me anymore.”
“It’s not about that.”
“Then what is it about?!”
“It’s because I loved you!” Barry whisper-yelled.
You slumped back into your seat, which you had risen up from, slowly blinking at his confession. Sure, you knew that he had feelings for you, but you assumed it was a small childhood crush.
He took your silence as an opening to continue, “You’ve always been there for me for as long as I could remember. And I thought that was because you loved me too.”
In a small voice, you began, “Barry-”
“Unless you’re going to say that I wasn’t just imagining things, I really don’t want to hear it,” he interrupted.
Falling silent, you granted his wish. As much as you wanted to tell him that his feelings were requited, even just a little bit, you weren’t able to.
Rising from your seat, you grabbed your jacket and put down a twenty dollar bill to cover the cost of your both’s coffees, plus the time you spent sitting at the diner.
Barry’s expecting eyes were glued to you, hope shining in his pupils that just a tiny part of you felt the same, but his sunken posture displayed his realization that you didn’t.
Giving your former childhood best friend one last look, you spoke, “I know that this is probably the end of us, but if you ever need anything or just want to talk again… please, call me.”
Despite him giving a small nod, you knew that the chances of Barry ever speaking to you again were slim.
Sighing at the utter failure that was your reconciliation meeting, you walked out the door of the diner, and away from the man that had been in your life forever.
You knew that everybody would move on, but a piece of you would always be right where you left him.
Getting into your car, you glanced down to see a text from Oliver, asking where you were.
Replying that you just went to get breakfast, which was technically the truth, you told your boyfriend that you would be home soon.
Leaving the diner, you looked in your rear-view mirror to see that Barry stayed there, and you hoped that not too much dust collected on his chestnut hair as he sat and stared at your empty seat.
You could only hope that time would unfreeze and you wouldn’t be forced to relive your conversation with Barry in your mind forever.
Turning your eyes back onto the open road, you tried to forget about your former friend, and instead, focus on Oliver.
You refused to let Barry’s pining eclipse the bright future you had with the man you loved. After all, you were confident that it was only a matter of time before Barry fell in love with someone who can actually return his feelings.
Smiling to yourself, you tapped your phone screen and it lit up with a picture of you and Oliver, one where he actually agreed to smile instead of his normal, intimidating stare.
Returning to Star City, you knew that you and Barry would move on from your fight, and your clandestine meeting would be remembered as nothing more than another lesson learned. Eventually, you both are surely going to find some perspective, and will pick up your friendship right where you left it.

The Hero We Want To Be
Barry Allen x Reader One-Shot
Word Count: 1.1K Warnings: Explicit Language
Author's Note: I love it when superheroes don't like each other--it makes for wonderful speeches. Enjoy! -Thorne
**********************************************************************
She idly toyed with the straps of her vambrace while Batman’s voice filtered through her ears, designations of missions, locations of anomalies, the usual agenda. The only solace she found was when Hal would occasionally slip over a constructed chess board, and she’d move a piece; she wanted to be back in Deepwater Hideaway—that or be in Central City with Barry.
Drawing her gaze to the clock, she internally sighed at the hour; there were so many things she could be doing right now if Bruce hadn’t called this meeting. Making deals with otherworldly beings, casting magic spells, crafting potions, creating sigils, doing—
“Where’s Flash?”
She looked over to Batman who was staring at Barry’s seat between hers and Hal’s. “There’s a forensic science symposium in London.” She answered coolly. “He was giving a speech over pathology and body identification.”
Before Bruce could even acknowledge her answer, a scoff sounded from the end of the table. “Of course, the Speedster gets to skip League meetings.”
Her eyes turned to Green Arrow, and she scowled. “Well sorry, Oliver. Most of us aren’t billionaires who have complete control over their schedules and can just skip out on things we’ve promised to attend.” Her expression darkened. “Maybe get off Barry’s case and worry about your own.”
“What’s that supposed to mean, (Y/N)?” he shot back, and Superman cleared his throat.
“Alright, let’s all settle down.”
(Y/N) waved him off. “No. He wants to do this now, we’ll do this now.” She glowered at Oliver. “You just hate the fact that everyone likes Barry, don’t you? It just drives you up the wall that other than Superman, the Flash is the one superhero that everyone deems the greatest alive.”
Oliver growled at her. “He’s a fucking hypocrite.”
“So are you, or have you forgotten that most people don’t like billionaires.” (Y/N)’s eyes narrowed. “It’s because Barry doesn’t need to prove anything to be a hero.”
“What?”
She stood up, pointing a finger at Barry’s empty chair. “That’s the thing about Barry Allen. He’s the same man under the cowl as the one sitting in his lab. He doesn’t need the speed force to be a hero—he merely is.”
Oliver scoffed. “Without the speed, he’s—”
“The greatest man alive,” (Y/N) interrupted. “All of us? We need our skills and magics and equipment to be heroes. But Barry?” she shook her head. “Take away the speed and what would you leave Barry with?”
Her head tipped up and she declared, “You leave a man who scours crime scenes for hours on end to find one shred of evidence to bring justice to victims. You leave a man who befriends everyone he meets because he believes in the power of friendship. You leave behind a man who strives for justice in everything.”
(Y/N)’s voice never lost it’s strength as she finished, “You leave behind a man who never gives up on redeeming people because he sees the good in them.” She pointed at Oliver once more. “And that’s what you’ve never understood about Barry Allen—and it’s something you never will.”
For the first time since she’d met the headstrong archer, he’d been stunned silent, and the weight of her words finally hit her—she’d practically just admitted her love for the Speedster.
Swallowing thickly, she looked over at Bruce and said, “I’ll take the anomaly in Saint Augustine.”
And with that, she turned on her heel and stalked to the Zeta-Tubes.
***
Waving her hand around the orb, she watched carefully as it swirled with mystical patterns. Probably of fae origins, if her guess was correct, and sure enough the emblem of the fae wings appeared in her vision. Her face pinched. Fae magic was always a pain to dispel and typically used up a good chunk of her mana reserve.
Resigning herself, she placed her hands on either side of the orb and shut her eyes, starting to dispel the enchantments. Her limbs shook and her breathing labored, but she kept her grasp until the orb cracked beneath her fingers.
With a shuddering exhale, she stepped back and let her knees give way, ready to collapse onto the floor when arms caught her, gently lowering her down; (Y/N) blearily looked over, confusedly asking, “Barry, what are you doing here?”
He smiled at her. “Well, I figured my knight in shining armor deserved a warm welcome from her fair prince.”
“You’re a goof,” she huffed with humor, letting her head rest on his shoulder. “Just give me a moment to catch my breath and I’ll get up.”
Barry shook his head, curling an arm under her legs. “Don’t be ridiculous. I’ll take you back to Deepwater.”
Nodding her head, she shut her eyes and let him run them across the world, and when she opened her eyes again, she was greeted by her dimly lit, but warmed hideaway. Barry set her down on one of her padded chairs and hurried into her kitchen, returning with a warm mug.
(Y/N) took it with a smile. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” he murmured, sitting down beside her, watching as she sipped the tea, a look of relief settling across her face; it made his heart flutter and he remembered why he came to find her. “Hal showed me the footage of this evening’s meeting.”
Her eyes met his over the cup and she admitted, “I got ahead of myself.” A sigh escaped her. “I know Oliver’s full of hot air, but I just got irritated. Sorry.”
“Don’t be,” Barry replied. “I appreciate you standing up for me in my absence.” He reached up and stuck his thumbs under his cowl, pulling it off and he gazed at her with those beautiful blue eyes. “And I appreciate what you said about me, (Y/N). About being a hero even if I didn’t have the speed force.”
Heat flooded her cheeks and her heart thumped against her rib cage as she confessed, “It’s the truth, Barry. You’re the greatest of us all. The one we all strive to be inside and outside of the suit.” (Y/N) gazed at him. “You’re who I try to be when I’m not being Auroras. Who I try to be when I’m just (Y/N).”
Barry’s smile was so soft and kind that it made her want to cry and he stood from his seat to kneel in front of her; he gently took her hands in his, brushing his thumbs over her knuckles as he murmured, “While I’m honored that you try to emulate me (Y/N)…there’s no one I’d rather you be, than you.” He leant forward and kissed her hands. “Because that’s what I love about you.”
(Y/N)’s eyes watered, and she let out a bubbly laugh. “Damn I owe Hal twenty dollars now.”
“What?” Barry chuckled and she shook her head, cupping his cheeks.
“Nothing,” she said, pressing a kiss to his lips.

For Talk Shop Tuesday, how and when do you typically title fics?
So there are two points at which I'll usually add (or amend) a title to a fic I'm working on.
When I start progress on the fic, I'll often give them some kind of placeholder title. It'll represent something about the fic and it'll be either a serious contender for the final title or something ridiculous. The next fic in The Man in the Lightning series has been titled "Eobarry Fuzzy Morals" which is obviously not gonna stick, but does describe well Barry and Eobard's approach to ethics in the series at large. Since it's going to focus on Iris learning about Barry & Eobard (not everything, but more than basically everyone else) and possibly include Hartley early (unless he gets kicked out into his own fic), it'll probably wind up renamed something to do with those scenes once it's finally ready to post.
Which is the second point at which I'll title a fic. If there's already a placeholder title, that's when I decide whether to rename it or not. Sometimes the serious name doesn't fit quite right anymore, like with Reconstruction where the placeholder title was Deconstruction - a reference to how the fic was intended as a deconstruction of Carter and Kendra as soulmates - but I realized at the end that with the fic being specifically about Kendra I wanted the title to focus on her too. Admittedly, not a huge name change but I felt a lot better about the title upon hitting post.
But often when there's a serious placeholder title for a fic, then it's still the one I go with upon posting. The silly titles are much more likely to get changed, but sometimes the silly title sticks around. Like with Buzz Buzz.
Not all fics get a placeholder title though. The Arrow S1 rewrite I've been, for example, doing has been using Episode X naming structure for the files and I've been deciding the titles right before posting. The most recent one was named for how Tommy was wanting Thea to actually face some consequences for her actions so she'd learn to be more cautious before landing in real trouble. But also for how, now that Tommy knows Oliver's secret at the end of the fic, Oliver is going to have to face the consequences of his actions with regards to how it impacts their friendship (which'll definitely be rocky the next fic or so).

Come home to me
Tumblr media
Title: Come home to me
Chapter no: Chapter 1
Author: @arianalilyblack
Pairing: Harry Wells x Reader x Eobard Thawne/Harrison Wells
Word count: 1954
Summary: The wedding of Barry Allen and Iris West is finally here. You and Harry are caught up with the wedding spirit and start to slowly realize that maybe you developed deeper feelings for each other. Everything is perfect until Nazis bust into the church ruining everything. And alongside Earth X villains guess who shows up? Your ex flame, Eobard Thawne aka the Reverse Flash, complicating everything in your lives.
The church was filled with joyful chatter; everyone was hyped for the wedding of the year. The wedding of Barry Allen and Iris West was finally happening. You saw Kara and Alex entering the church, while Barry was talking to one of the waitresses. Slowly everyone was taking their designated seats when they saw that Barry was approaching the minister.
You were seated next to Professor Stein; in front of you was Sara and in the front row were Alex and Harry. Kara was preparing for her performance as she was the one who would start the ceremony with her angelic singing voice. You were a little sad that you weren’t sitting beside Harry with whom you became to be like best friends after he came back from Earth-2. He had been grumpy ever since he came back, but you managed do make him smile a couple of times.
The orchestra started the melody and soon after Kara started to sing. It was the song with which Barry proposed to Iris. It was a lovely song. When you heard the lyrics you couldn’t help but to take a glimpse of Harry, who was just standing up to turn around as Iris walked down the aisle with Joe. After hearing the song for the first time you started to realize that you had some deeper feelings than friendship for Earth-2 Harrison Wells, but you wouldn’t admit it for anyone, not even for yourself. Your eyes met and you shot a smile in his direction which he happily reciprocated. It seemed like the wedding spirit caught up with him as well. He looked happy as he watched Barry take Iris’s hands in his.
 ~
Harry was smiling at Barry while Kara was adjusting the microphone. He knew that Kara was supposed to sing the opening song, which was written by Barry, but he never heard it before. He was too busy finding out who the Thinker was to have time for small chitchats with the team about the wedding or anything like that. The only team member who he was constantly in contact with was Y/N, because he genuinely liked her presence. She always tried her best to cheer him up; she helped him in everything he needed. It was nice having her around.
He met her just before he went back to Earth-2 after defeating Zoom, but he knew many stories about her thanks to the team. She was part of the team back when they were trying to catch the man in the yellow suit aka Reverse-Flash. But after it turned out that Earth -1 Harrison Wells was the villain, she had left the team. As far as the team knows, she was in a romantic relationship with that Wells, and it was a huge trauma for her, so it was understandable that she wanted to heal before she could get back to do the job.
The first time they met the poor soul turned into a pale ghost when she saw him. Cisco quickly summarized the whole situation to her, but that wasn’t important because Harry was already on his way back to Earth-2. It took quite some time for the two of them to get used to each other, mostly Y/N would avoid him in the beginning. But in the end it turned out just fine.
Now watching all the people gathered and hearing the lyrics, Harry couldn’t help but to think about his relationship with Y/N. The verses awakened some new feelings in Harry towards the woman. He started realizing, as he closely listened to the song, that the person who he wants to run home to is Y/N; he wants her in his life every hour and every minute of it. This realization startled him, because he genuinely thought that he would never feel this way again for another person beside his wife. He brushed away his feelings and concentrated on the wedding.
~
It was a beautiful ceremony until the pastor was vaporized by a blue ray. Everybody jumped and turned to face the threat. There were a bunch of people dressed in black, with masks on their faces and something red on their arms. You soon realized that it was a Nazi logo on the armband. You could hear Oliver and Kara saying in unison that they hate Nazis, and you couldn’t agree more. You looked behind your shoulder to see Harry trying to get out as many people as he can. He looked at you concerned, but you assured him with a smile that you were okay and ready to fight back.
It wasn’t a secret that you were a metahuman, though you rarely used your powers in combat. You had some training sessions with Barry and Cisco, but you felt more comfortable behind your lab gear, so you supported the team with your knowledge not your punching skills. You were a product of the particle accelerator explosion caused by the Reverse-Flash, and every time you used those powers you were reminded of that man. But desperate times required desperate measures and you knew you had to do everything in your power to save the civilians.
You took a deep breath, bathing in the sunlight for a second, before you started to blast the enemy with electric jolts coming from your palms. Everyone around you were fighting as well, you could see Barry’s yellow streak as he was taking people outside. One of the soldiers got close to you and tried to choke you from behind, but you managed to send an electric impulse through your elbow directly into his chest, causing ruptures in his hearts electrical system due to which he collapsed onto the ground.
You let out a small chuckle. You already knew that the enemy will underestimate you, because they will think that you are a long range fighter who cannot use his powers in close combat. But they were wrong. You learned to control your electric powers so you were able to send out impulses and even little lightning from every inch of your body. This massive power naturally came with a massive price; thereby you couldn’t use it for too long.
 ~
Harry was escorting people out of the church through the back door, but he kept coming back to see if Y/N is still okay. He knew about her powers, her limitations, and he was terrified that she will overuse her abilities and eventually get hurt. He tried his best to keep the civilians safe by pushing them towards the exits. He didn’t have a weapon to fight with so he tried to outsmart the enemy by coming up with a combat strategy. Everyone was caught up with his own fight, Y/N as well was kicking asses, and it inevitably made him smile feeling some sort of pride mixed with some other emotions that he wouldn’t acknowledge.
He just had been turned away for a split second, but when he looked at Y/N again he saw that she was overpowered by six enemy soldiers, who were trying to knock her out. He felt fear flowing through his veins, heart rushing so fast that he almost couldn’t breathe. He started to run towards her in desperation but the next moment the soldiers were brushed off by a massive electric discharge, leaving Y/N kneeling on the floor gasping for air. He was sure that she’d reached her limits.
Harry saw an arrow drill into the wall and looked up just to see that the enemy had targeted him, but luckily Oliver Queen came to the rescue by deviating the trajectory of the arrow. Harry nodded in the direction of Oliver and rushed in a hurry to Y/N. She was almost unconscious so he took her into his arms and carried her out of the church.
 ~
You woke up in the med bay, having no idea how you got there. Your whole body was hurting, your muscles were sore and you had a headache as well. The team and the superhero guests were discussing what happened in the Cortex. You let out a quit groan as you tried to get off the bed. Just then you realized that an infusion needle was sticking out of your arm, hooked to an infusion bag. The memories started to get back to you, and you remembered that you used up your remaining strength to brush off the enemy. You were trying to stretch your sore muscles a little when Harry entered the room. You could see the anger in his eyes, but you observed other things as well. Were they relief or worry, you didn’t know, but it was something new.
„Thank God you’re alright. I was beginning to worry” he said scratching the back of his neck.
„I’m fine, no need to worry. I’m tougher than I look” you smiled at him reassuring that you were really fine.
„What were you thinking?” he asked in his usual passive-aggressive tone.
„I… well…” you were taken by surprise by his outrage. „I was protecting the people that I care about, Harry” you answered, anger starting to build up inside you.
„You could have died.” He took off his glasses to rub his eyes. Approaching to your bed he continued to lecture you. „You know how severe the side effects of your powers are. The water is one of the most important substances in the human body, and your power uses that water to generate your electricity. The more you use it the more water is dissociating in your body, building up a huge amount of oxidative stress and not to mention the massive dehydration you are suffering.” He let out a small sigh and added in a whisper „You almost died in my arms.”
„I’m sorry, Harry” you said. „I did it to protect you”
„What?” he asked surprised.
„I mean… all of you.” You felt your cheeks burning.
„Don’t overuse your abilities ever again for me, please” he pleaded in a soft voice that you never heard from him before. You felt your heart beating faster when he took your hands in his and kissed it gently.
„Ohm, where is the team? Are they alright? Who were those black devils?” you asked in a hurry to change the subject and to give yourself time to soak in the new Harry.
„Nazis from Earth X, it’s one of the parallel Earths. I think Barry, Oliver, Kara and some others are trashing their base right as we speak. Cisco is checking the Pipeline, Caitlin and Iris are in the Cortex.” He looked behind his back to check if anyone was there. Something wasn’t right, he could feel it. „You know, I realized something today.”
„Let me guess, you hate Nazis?” you laughed, making him smile too.
„Yes, that too.” He looked like he was trying to find the best words to express himself, but he was interrupted by Mick who just rattled in.
„Doc we need your assistance. We lost the communication with the team.”
„I’ll go in a minute” he said waving his hands. „What was I saying?”
„We will have enough time to discuss this after you do your job. It’s not like I am able to go anywhere in this state” you let out a nervous laugh. You felt helpless and angry, but you tried to conceal it. He squeezed your hands, which made you blush, and went after Mick to see what happened.
You were left there alone, waiting for him to come back, but he never did. Someone else came instead, someone you thought you would never see again.
