In my attempt to write something that wasn't going to be 40k words of the weirdest AU you've ever fucking seen, I've come up with this:

Event Horizon - Landoscar

Rating: Teen and up Warnings: none Tags/themes: Scientists, angst with a happy ending, lando haunting the narrative while actually being an active figure of the narrative, WIP Short summary: There's a black hole in the centre of the Earth. Oscar Piastri is a Nobel-decorated physicist, with nothing to show for it but an addiction to cigarettes and a ring without a finger to put it on. These two things have more in common than one might think.

It will be longer than 40k words, and it's possibly the most overcomplicated AU I've ever written. Hope y'all enjoy!

We both were getting ready to race, he was waving at me, I gave him a middle finger. He laughs. “All ready salty baby?” I ignored him and tried to focus. The lights turned green and we went off, both very quick. A,ready passing others but I stayed in front of Lando. Lando was behind me almost touching. We drove like this for a few rounds till he tried to overtake me. I was defending my place. He looked at me and touched the back of my car. Causing me to crash into the barrie. He drove away laughing. I slammed my hands of the steering wheel. “Cheater!” I tried to get back on the track. Other people drove pass me causing me to be last. I was fuming. The flag waved, meaning the race was over. I got out of my kart. Lando was already waiting for me. “ I won.” “No! You crashed into me.” He laughs. “It’s not funny Lando, I was winning now I’m last.” I took off my helmet. I was looking angry and sad at the same time. “It’s not fair Lando, it’s already difficult to compete against you.” I said pouting at him. He wraps his arms around my shoulder pulling me into his chest/neck. “I’m sorry, your right it was not fair of me to do that.” He kissed my head. “It was a dirty move.” “Your right, can this muppet make it up to you with some ice cream?” I looked at him.
