A Sailor's Woolwork or Woolie of a Royal Navy Squadron at Bocca Tigris, 12 November 1856. Showing the Battle of the Bogue with following Ships, HMS Encounter, HMS Nankin, HMS Barracouta, HMS Hornet, HMS Calcutta and HMS Coromandel
The Battle of the Bogue was fought between British and Chinese forces at the Humen strait (Bogue), Guangdong province, China, on 12–13 November 1856 during the Second Opium War. The British captured the forts in the Wangtong Islands on 12 November and the forts in Anunghoy Island the next day.
A wollie that shows an event is very rare. Normally, Sailors made woolen pictures of the ships they had served on.

Offshore Drilling Market Size, Industry Share and Growth Rate 2026
The global offshore drilling market size is slated to reach USD 56.97 billion by 2026, exhibiting a CAGR of 7.9% during the forecast period. Surging demand for electricity worldwide is expected to drive the growth of this market, states Fortune Business Insights™ in its new report, titled “Offshore Drilling Market Size, Share and Industry Analysis, By Rig Type (Drill-ships, Semi-submersibles, and Jackups), By Water Depth (Shallow Water, Deepwater, and Ultra-Deepwater), and Regional Forecast, 2019-2026”.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the global demand for electricity is projected to rise by 2.1% annually till 2040, representing an increase from 19% in 2018 to 24% in 2040 in terms of share of electricity in total energy consumption. Moreover, presently, non-renewable sources account for 36% of the total electricity generation around the world. Fossil fuel-powered plants require oil and gas to function smoothly and generate a stable amount of electricity. With the accelerating pace of urbanization and industrialization in emerging economies, the demand for electricity will necessitate higher production of oil and gas, which will drive the offshore drilling market trends.
List of Players Covered in the Offshore Drilling Market Report:
Archer Well Company (Norway)
Borr Drilling (Bermuda)
Odfjell Drilling (Norway)
Pacific Drilling (United State)
Noble Drilling (United Kingdom)
Valaris plc (United Kingdom)
Transocean (Switzerland)
Shelf Drilling (UAE)
Maersk Drilling (Denmark)
KCA Deutag (United Kingdom)
COSL – China Oilfield Services Limited (China)
Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (United States)
Saipem (Italy)
Nabors Industries (Bermuda)
Regional Analysis:
Asia-Pacific to Occupy Commanding Position; Middle East & Africa to Show Promising Growth
Asia-Pacific, which boasted a market size of USD 11.23 billion in 2018, is anticipated to command the offshore drilling market share during the forecast period on account of potential presence of undiscovered oil & gas reserves. The Middle East is well-known for its vast hydrocarbon reserves and countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar are further ramping up their exploration & production (E&P) capabilities through extensive fleet expansion activities. Africa is fast emerging as a major hotbed of hydrocarbon sources, prompting huge investments by companies and governments in the continent. European energy majors, namely Norway, UK, Germany, and Russia, are making significant investments in increasing their offshore E&P activities, especially in the North Sea and the Norwegian continental shelf.
Industry Developments:
March 2020: ExxonMobil’s Australian subsidiary, Esso Australia, announced that it has hit the total depth in its ongoing project in the West Barracouta gas field development in Bass Strait. Comprising of two subsea production wells, the development project will be controlled by the prevailing Barracouta infrastructure, with production slated to commence from early 2021.
January 2020: Transocean Ltd., the world’s largest offshore drilling company based in Switzerland, reported that it is experiencing a flood of contracts for its ultra-deepwater services as well as its services for drilling in inhospitable environmental conditions. The company also declared that it has secured additional contracts worth $352.9 million at the beginning of 2020.

I'll never get over Maui's death tho
So Maui, the mythological version not the embarrassing Disney one, was a smartassed lanky brat who lazed about and was the baby brothee but was super good when he put his mind to it and when listening to gossip he got upset and insulted so snuck onto his brothers' canoe and long story short thanks to him being a sarcastic and determined and stubborn teen, he fished up a NZ.
That's another story I'm not bothered telling but Maui's death lmaaaoo
He went to defeat the goddess of death herself (Hine) and got chopped in her vag cos a bird laughed too loudly.
Hine was described as "the red flashing in the western sky emanates from her... her body is that of a human being, but her eyes are greenstone, her hair sea-kelp, and her mouth is that of a barracouta."
Here's his death scene;
Maaui took with him the smallest birds of the forest, the tomit, the robin, the grey warbler, and the fantail, and set off towards the west.
They found Hine asleep with her legs apart, and they could see sharp flints of obsidian and greenstone set between her thighs.
"Now," said Maaui to his companions, "if I enter the body of this old woman, do not laugh at me. Do but wait until I reappear again from her mouth. Then you may laugh all you wish."
"You will be killed," the birds said.
"If you laugh too soon I will indeed be killed. But if I can pass right through her body I shall live, and she will be the one to die."
Then he prepared himself, winding the cord of his battle club firmly round his wrist, and casting aside his garment.
As Maaui began his task, the cheeks of the watching birds puckered with suppressed mirth. His head and arms had disappeared when the fantail could hold back no longer, and burst into laughter.
The old lady awoke, opened her eyes and clapped her legs together, and cut Maaui completely in two.

Comparative genomics of tarakihi (Nemadactylus macropterus) and five New Zealand fish species: assembly contiguity affects the identification of genic features but not transposable elements
Comparative analysis of whole-genome sequences can provide valuable insights into the evolutionary patterns of diversification and adaptation of species, including the genome contents and the regions under selection. However, such studies are lacking for fishes in New Zealand. To supplement the recently sequenced genome of tarakihi (Nemadactylus macropterus), the genomes of five additional percomorph species native to New Zealand (king tarakihi (Nemadactylus n.sp.), blue moki (Latridopsis ciliaris), butterfish (Odax pullus), barracouta (Thyrsites atun), and kahawai (Arripis trutta)) were determined and assembled using Illumina sequencing. While the proportion of repeat elements was highly correlated with the genome size (R2 = 0.97, P < 0.01), most of the metrics for the genic features (e.g. number of exons or intron length) were significantly correlated with assembly contiguity (|R2| = 0.79-0.97). A phylogenomic tree including eight additional high-quality fish genomes was reconstructed from sequences of shared gene families. The radiation of Percomorpha was estimated to have occurred c. 112 mya (mid-Cretaceous), while the Latridae have diverged from true Perciformes c. 83 mya (late Cretaceous). Evidence of positive selection was found in 65 genes in tarakihi and 209 genes in Latridae: the largest portion of these are involved in the ATP binding pathway and the integral structure of membranes. These results and the de novo genome sequences can be used to (1) inform future studies on both the strength and shortcomings of scaffold-level assemblies for comparative genomics and (2) provide insights into the evolutionary patterns and processes of genome evolution in bony fishes. http://dlvr.it/SW23r2

This photo was taken behind Omaui near a place called Barracouta Point. The temperature had reached freezing and frost was foing on the grass behind me. The hill on the horizon is Flat Hill, home to a wind farm which I worked on a number of years ago. In the foreground are the remains of the fishing vessel Olivia. She was wrecked on the 23rd of August 1979 when she hit rocks whilst returning to Bluff. The vessel was quickly broken up during heavy seas. . . . #scenery #landscape #history #ocean #beach #beautiful #nzdphoto #wreck #ship #shipwreck #time #newzealand #Southland #landscapephotography #sony #sonyphotography #sonya6000 #sonyalpha #sonya6000club #sonyalphasclub #cold #winter (at Beautiful Omaui)

Stories of the Sea - Montage from Gina Moore on Vimeo.
Created in 2009, Stories of the Sea is a 5 minute animation depicting krill, barracouta, dolphins, seals, Australian salmon, and blue whales. It was commissioned by David Lancashire Design on behalf of Zoo’s Victoria. The animation is projected as a 25 metre long, 3 metre high image in the new section of the Melbourne Zoo called The Deep. At 4096 x 768 pixels, Stories of the Sea is difficult to show on a computer screen. Therefore the movie presented above is a montage containing sections of the original animation. ginamoore.com.au
