I don't feel like it's a coincidence that Non's nickname (actual nickname, not 'Greasy'), is something close to words like 'none', 'no one' or 'anonymous.' From what we see at school, he has no friends and is alone, treated as nothing at best, like trash at worst. Something that's not even a person, a nonentity, something dirty and not human.

After whatever occurred three years ago, he was then erased from conversation and memory like he never existed, never to be talked about again until Phee discovers their old film.

If you suppose that Non is either A) Alive and one of the killers B) A ghost out for vengeance, then him donning the mask of the killer (and potentially possessing proxies like Top) further rends him anonymous and unknown.

The only info we had on him until now has only been through whatever's unwillingly shared by the original group, leaving who Non really was a mystery until the flashback.
