brief summary about me

I have always been a saver, but now I am more conscious about what I own.

After living in a country where I had to be more thoughtful of my water use, I also realized I became more subconsciously aware of how little food waste I created and how much I used second hand clothes ☺️, but I also became aware of how much plastic, paper, and other recyclables I used! (in a country where recycling was non existent!! yikes 😬)

I became almost obsessed with the idea of zero waste. I have simmered down now 🙊 I then lived in another country that was not so thoughtful in their waste disposal or reduction. I lost my patience and hope to find resources that would allow me to reduce my waste, but I made it work. I mostly focused on replacing my "single-use habits" with "reusable habits."

For the past three years, I haven't bought any new clothes. I swapped with others or used what I already had and have been pretty minimalist with my possessions and clothes. Now, I work in retail at a secondhand store and can buy secondhand clothes. So, while I now want to experiment with my style more, at least I can do it with secondhand clothes. 

I use this blog to share ideas on reducing waste and responsibly disposing the waste we do create. (this blog is best viewed on a computer for the videos and to view my pages)

Frozen fruit for smoothies, ready to rock with no single use plastic! It's super easy to freeze fruit, just make sure you lay it out on a flat surface to freeze it so it won't stick together in a giant clump, then transfer to a bag or container. This ziplock bag has been treated well and used many many times. You could also use an old bread bag, or the resealable bag that your last fruit came in. There were cheap mangoes at the supermarket this week because they were a bit bruised looking, but because I am cutting them up for freezing it's easy enough to just chop out the really gross bits.
