No, but you don’t understand: everyone downloading 小航书 as a protest against Meta/Zucc the Cuck is an objectively funny move. Not only are you express-mailing your data to China, even though it would have ended up there anyways, and have to deal with more restrictive TOS rules, but you also have to learn a whole new language. On the flip side, it’s more brain rotten than even TikTok was, and it’s funnier.

Like, how bad do you have to fumble the bag that was the TikTok ban to literal Chinese social media? You’d have to be incredible levels of stupid to do that.

Another random daemon world building post: (sorry long post, I got a little carried away)

I think there would be a lot of clubs/ groups for people with the same or similar daemon forms to meet up

However, how easily you can find such groups is going to depend on the size of your city (if you're looking for an in person group) and how common your daemon's form is

In most daemon fic I see, mammals are by far the most common forms, followed by birds, with the entire rest of the animal kingdom a distant third place

Now, I personally like to run with this, maybe most people just have mammal or bird personalities. It's not too crazy, humans are mammals and some personality traits are more common than others

This does leave people with, say, insect daemons in a bit of a bind. Not only are they small and kinda hard for other people to read (no facial expressions) now they're also a minority

So say you grow up in a small town, your one of like two people with bug daemons in your highschool and you don't even like the other guy that much

But now you're leaving for college and you're gonna be in the big city! Finally time to meet other people with dragonfly daemons (your a dragonfly now in this example I've decided) you look at your college website for daemon related clubs and unfortunately even in a big college city there aren't enough dragon fly people for your own specific club. But there is a general insect daemon meet up!

So you go to your first meeting and it's mostly other people with insects, but there's a couple spiders, a millipede, there's even one guy with a cray fish for some reason

The club president tells you "yeah we pretty much accept anybody whose daemon doesn't have a spinal cord. We'd be pretty small otherwise so we try to just be excited about anybody who wants to be here. Have you ever been called creepy or crawly? Then we want to hang out with you!"

It's not quite what you were hoping for but the cray fish guy turns out to be really cool and he helps you pass English 101 so you can't really complain

However it does erk you a bit that right down the hall is the Retriever Dog Daemon Meetup and their poster specifically says "we do not accept membership from all hunting dog daemons, you MUST be a retriever!"

(meanwhile I am also there now and I'm chilling at the small cat meet up, kinda sticking out as a big awkward cheetah next to all these lynxes and ocelots and rusty spotted cats who are way more confident than me. We don't meet up that often cause most cats aren't that social. This is disappointing for me because cheetahs actually are fairly social by cat standards)

I've been watching someone on Twitch play RE4R recently and it possessed me to rewatch the CGI movies, which eventually led to me obsessing over Vendetta era Leon again. When I heard this song on another stream yesterday, I knew it was fate to edit Leon again, especially because this song reminded me of him in Resident Evil: Vendetta. A lot of my old Resident Evil edits I'm no longer proud of when compared to my new editing style, but when I set out to make one I'd be proud of, I didn't expect to come out with a banger first try!

i understand where it comes from but it’s funny to me when people make posts to entreat new users to subscribe to tumblr's social codes and the subject comes around to tag etiquette and OP will go “do NOT use unrelated tags in your posts for reach” and i'll go yes yeah yep that's correct they shouldn't do that and then OP continues "because it's AGAINST TOS!!!!" and i'll go aw. honey. u just made ur argument weaker. people shouldn't add tags unrelated to their posts because it's annoying as fuck and other users will mercilessly block them for it, not because it's against Le Rules. it's also against ToS for me to tell terfs to kill themselves but as we all (should) know legality and morality are very different creatures

I think there need to be more variations on what a coffee shop AU could mean, like taking an incredibly gripping thriller or political intrigue or violent action story and setting it present day with the characters meeting in a social setting, confined by social mores and forced to have these otherwise devastating or despicable conversations filtered through polite social decorum. It especially works if what’s being said is an accusation, or a confession, or a twist or reveal, and it cannot be spoken outright because again: You’re in public. You can’t cause a scene. You can’t physically attack them. And there’s only so much you can get away with with other people watching.

And if you do break those social rules, there needs to be consequences! You can’t strip the AU of everything that still makes it a cute coffee shop setting or you’ve admitted the coffee shop setting doesn’t work for the story you’re trying to tell!

What happens when you take these big stories and concentrate them down into what’s considered a quaint and cute AU setting. How can that story still play out and what equivalencies and parallels to canon can you make by doing so

We need to get democrats to do something about all of the issues we care about but letting republicans get into power isn't going to help that. And even if we form a better party, y'all won't have a democracy anymore if Trump gets back in. It is much easier to fix a broken democracy then it is a dictatorship.
