A reclusive and selective estate, House Madaras has made a name for itself over the last century with its incredible leniency when it comes to illicit research. Vast on-site archives, bountiful resources and plenty of 'willing' subjects to play with means that not much is truly out of bounds within the House. It is a haven of willful ignorance where the morally ambiguous may thrive. A place of learning where few things are taboo and fewer still are deemed off-limits....

House Madaras and its underbelly, the Serpent's Warren, is set up as a place for characters of more dubious alignments and persuasions to play; assassins, murderers, manipulative socialites, eccentric mages and so on! A place where very few things are off limits, and the darker things encouraged. We welcome people to play deviously, to use each others characters like pieces on a board and utilize the setting to its fullest.

As a heavy, 21+ RP group our intent is to give writers a well-crafted setting to explore the darker & maturer themes of FFXIV RP. We keep our setting grounded; we don't deal in over-powered characters here. But we do deal in consequences. We are a small and selective group with a zero policy for drama. Given the nature of our themes, we are quite strict and place great importance on communication and consent.

The plush chair seemed to hug his form, something he had not been very accustomed to lately, the emptiness that had been consuming him from the inside was trying to fill it's own void.  Try as he might, the every-present pounding of his heart could be felt in his head and he attempted to isolate the sound's vibration in his horns, but it was no use. He channeled all he could of himself, his feelings, his emotions, his very soul into that point, desperately needing to silence the yelling of ten thousand voidsent screaming in discordant operatic melodies, giving a feeling of flesh rent from bone and tendon, but instead, applied to the inside of his mind unraveling his brain.

His blood boiled and he could feel the emptiness of the void overtaking every aspect of his senses. Mizuhiro struck out with clawed hands, and slashed at his own flesh along his chest and arms, causing rivulets of blood to follow in their destructive wake.  He could feel each and every ilm as they ripped through, he dug deep enough down to part muscle from vein, expose arteries that were normally hidden.  Even with as much pain and horror as it manifested in his mind, he still felt more in that moment, more than in recent memory.  The blinding white hot pain that pulsed in his vision, momentarily caused the screaming of the void to get washed out, the tinnitus in his horns rang out with every sawing cut and tear.  The hot drip-drip of blood tapping on the stone floor sounded like the second hand of the clock as the time of his life continued to tick on by.

There was no music, only the screams, but even with so many of them calling him home, he felt the thumping of a drum beat, the raising of another scream began to resonate separately and purposefully.  The wailing began to overtake the chorus of the rest, and it's familiarity haunted him, stabbed at his heart.  It was as if his entirety was spinning, round and round and over and over, causing his dizziness to increase.  He needed to know where it was coming from, this low guttural growl, harmonizing on it's own with itself, with a scraping blood-curdling shriek that echoed like a bat locating it's prey in the darkest of caverns, he could feel the hard pangs of hunger welling, driving him to feed, nothing was clear, his vision all a blur... He took one step, then another, and another, and on and on...

It didn't matter where he looked, walking along the nearly empty streets of the Goblet, but there were beacons out here, signalling for him, coaxing and calling him home, like the sirens of old, demanding sacrifice of ship and sanity, to crush them both on their rocky shores.  Mizu could feel the smashing of his will and rationality against the sharpest of objects, a slivered, shattered anvil, wrapped in barbed wire, ripping apart his lucidity and all reason... The rise of the chorus had matched his screaming now, pulling the ten thousand cacophonous voices into one, coordinated, identical song... The burst of white light had sprung forth in front of him, the beacon lit and answered, he bolted quick and dexterously to capture it in his arms, claws digging deep into it's flesh, along with his horns and teeth goring the entity of light, cutting it open and allowing him to feed freely on the pure fount of aether he had seized for himself.  

But in few, short moments later, the song ceased, the beacon fell dim and dull, along with everything that he had been conducting, the orchestra stopped, instruments clanged to the ground.  He crouched over the poor man, body now shriveled and desiccated, his aether fully removed so much that only a blood covered shell of what he had been remained.  There was another scream, a mortal one this time, one that shredded vocal chords and throat-flesh in a horrific display of regret and sorrow.  The Himaa dropped the corpse and stood above, tears streaming down his face along with the blood that trailed down his extremities, "No... no.... no......... no............," he continued to repeat over and over, his black-lit eyes glowed as they sought a way to escape.  He was flooded with self doubt and mortification at his actions, he had been past all of this, hadn't he? He had fallen asleep, something he had been doing more and more lately, and woke up as if from a nightmare that just didn't stop when his eyes opened, and revealed the fact that he had done this, he had let himself go, allowed his weaker nature to prevail...

He could not hold back the floodgates of pain and regret, but knew he needed to run, there was no explanation for what had happened other than the obvious, and he needed to distance himself from it as soon as humanly possible.  He picked up his feet, one after the other, faster and faster and finally until he found the end, he vaulted over the railing and down into the chasm, sliding with the rocks, and he prayed desperately he would not stop until he hit the abyss.

It features simple games, alcohol, snacks, an opportunity to show off your wares, create deeper story connections, and chat around a campfire. This event is open to everyone and anyone on the Crystal Data Center and hosted on Balmung.

This is a meet-and-greet style event designed around camping out in Rhalgr’s Reach. It is hosted every 3rd Friday of the month. There will be an assortment of games, drinks and snacks, the opportunity to tell bardic stories around a fire, etc! We hope that you’ll consider joining us.

Parlor Games! This event features a handful of various games of chance. Characters are also encouraged to bring their own games so that we have a wide variety. Games may be things like, “Gils (quarters),” “Ale Pong,” “Dice,” etc!

Gauntlet Training! Have you wanted to participate in the Gyr Abanian Gauntlet but you don’t know how to? Is your character an amateur fighter with big dreams? Rhalgr’s Respite will provide lessons on how to participate in the Gauntlet before that month’s Fight Night!

Services Encouraged! Not all Ala Mhigans are punchpunch centric and that’s okay! You want to come vend wares? Offer healing to anyone who may be bruised up? Maybe your character is great at cooking? Wherever your character’s talents may lie, join us for a night of respite!

Storytelling! We’re going to be hosting some round robin-esque bardic entertainment. We encourage performers of all  kinds to join us. Want to tell a story? Sing? Dance? Maybe you have performance macros? Whatever the case may be we hope that you’ll come share your talents (or your memes) with us!

32 onzes brewed Doman Oolong tea, chilled.

Stir all ingredients in a large bowl until combined, then serve chilled in individual glasses. Garnish with lemon wheels, mint leaves, and cinnamon sugar.

Sly Blue Tattoos & Piercings is opening for its first time, this Wednesday (4/15/20) at 5pm CST! - It’s been an idea in our heads for some time, and we’ve finally been able to settle and put that into play, we’re very excited to announce our first opening date. Phantom thief of Kugane An priceless jewel necklace disappeared in the middle of tea ceremony you held for your important business partners, with only a calling card and a cherry blossom left on its wake? Or maybe an old heirloom katana catched your eye, but the current owner is less willing to part with it? Aya’s main income comes from stealing (liberating) valuables, and selling them on to be sold on black markets. Maybe something got stolen from you? Maybe you need something stolen? Or maybe you are running a black market, and happen to be in need of her services.

A teahouse regular Aya loves to spend her time in high-class teahouses and theatres. Maybe you catched a glimpse of an elegently dressed, pale auri woman, when visiting such events.

The princess of lost Sasaki family The Sasaki family used to run a bathhouse in Kugane. While being one of wealthiest families in the city, the source of the wealth was not as much the bathhouse, but ties to local yakuza. To strenghten these bonds, young Ayame was to be wed with the son of said yakuza family. Not long after the date for bonding ceremony was decided, an anonymous letter to sekiseigumi shed light on several crimes, supposedly committed by the Sasaki family. After trials, the leaders of Sasaki family were executed, while the others lost their wealth and standing in the city, being expelled from Kugane. Everyone except young Ayame, who as orphaned minor, was not seen responsible for the crimes of her parents. A local monster slayer, Asagi Homura adopted young Ayame just some time after. Maybe you are someone with a link to late Sasaki family? Maybe one of the yakuza family, she was supposed to be married into.

Darker themes (violence, gore, torture, abuse, drugs etc.) are totally okay, as long as the partner is 20+, and we have a mutual agreement about things!

Even though I like darker themes, Im very much up for just some light, slice of life-RP too! So dont let that stop you from reaching out! :3

No plots that will end up killing my character. Events that will leave scars or permanent injuries (physical or mental) are okay, as long as you talk to me first! 🖤

No ERP for the sake of it. Im married, and have no interest in ERP altogether. Some exceptions may be made, if its important for the plot, but overall, I prefer “fade to black”.

Any racism, nazism, homo- transphobia etc. wont be tolerated! Ever.

We’ve always wanted a place where people could come and hang out in a cozy environment, listen to some music and watch Duke make a fool of himself on stage cool performances. Yes.
