🎃 HALLOWEEN EVENTS 🎃

Spooky, scary skeletons have arrived to Sobremesa—and with them come several fun events and features roleplayers can take advantage of for a limited time!

On October 31, 2023 only:

Characters will find themselves trapped in a costume of their RPer's choosing for 24 hours! This can include fandom-based costumes like Jedi robes, Batman's suit, etc. If characters try to take the costume off entirely, it will simply reappear on them within a minute; however, they can make small adjustments like loosening a collar, taking off a hat, etc.

Characters' pets can also find themselves in a costume! These costumes also cannot be removed, as they will simply respawn if someone tries to take them off; however, please avoid costumes that may harm the animals or inflict unnecessary discomfort. They will disappear after 24 hours, just like for the characters.

Until November 1, 2023:

Massive corn mazes can be found sprinkled throughout the woods and fields of both Sobremesa and Asemerbos. Once characters are deep enough in, to the point where its not easy to backtrack, they will suddenly lose all superpowers (just like how it'd be if they walked into Sobremesa, the Colosseum, etc.). They will then have to make it through the rest of the maze powerless. Participants should stay alert! The zombies, cordyceps, and feral animals currently roaming both dimensions also tend to get trapped in the maze.

A haunted mansion can also be found in the center of the Asemerbos city, filled with illusions of pumpkinheads and skeletons partying it up. Endless food, drink, and music can be found in all the rooms and halls, accompanied with abundant spooky decor. Characters should still remain alert though. It's dark and loud inside, making it easy for monsters or those with malicious intentions to slip inside.

As always, these events and features are optional! If you don't want your character in a costume, they don't have to be; the God of Tricks likes their random games.

I'm Savannah "Fursona" Caruso, leader of the Fursona's Fusiliers mercenary unit. You may have heard of us, but if not, it's understandable; we haven't done all that much since Fortress Republic and The Wall went up. Fought in the Battle of Terra, I guess that's notable. But most of our success was prior to the Republic, the 4th Succession War, the Clan Invasion, the Jihad.

As far as size, the Fusiliers are roughly two RCTs in size - 72 Mechs, 72 Combat Vehicles, 12 AeroSpace Fighters, a battalion of PA(L) "unarmored" infantry, a battalion of Battle Armor infantry, and two platoons of Space Marines. Got ourselves two modified Colossus class DropShips, and our pride and joy, the Argo. Relic of the first Star League, civilian exploration vessel. She's got her very own Grav Deck, and is the only DropShip with the MCDS, Multiple Collar Docking System; lets us attach two other DropShips to the Argo, and daisy-chain 'em along through a jump.

I've been asked by... heh... Commanding General Hazen - seriously, Mysty, wow, talk about a promotion, huh?

Anyway, I've been asked by her to "make myself available for queries or interactions". We've gotten settled in here in the Islington system finally - heh, hard to find the Argo a big enough docking berth on the station...

his days at work are exhausting. endless paperwork, bloody messes he’s tasked with cleaning up, and the ever increasing stain on his morality that accompanied being a warden of the night. he didn’t want to think that this was him. but he made a vow to protect the city and to protect you.

but that doesn’t mean you can’t protect him in your own, silly way.

“doll.” he groans, stepping into your shared bedroom. its 2 in the morning, and he’s just finished writing off some deal with a country he can’t pronounce. you can tell by the circles under his eyes and his ruffled orange hair.

“come here.” you invite him, patting the space on the bed next to you. you’re ready to just hold him, to stroke his hair and kiss the taste of darkness on his lips away. and he loves you for it, but he has something different in mind as he flops down onto the bed next to you.

“…tell me one of your jokes.” 

he sighs, getting his head comfortable in your lap.

you ponder for a moment. would that really make him feel better?

you eventually relent: “chuuya?”

“hm?” he asks, his eyes still closed from the relaxing head message you’ve blessed him with. he could melt into your touch forever.

“how do you build suspense?”

“i don’t know. how do you build suspense, doll?”

“……..”

“….oh, fuck you.”

he laughs, getting the punchline. you chuckle alongside him, the vibrations from his voice sending wavelengths of love through your fingertips. he looks beautiful from this angle. many people knew chuuya nakahara- the calculated, well dressed mafioso. you knew chuuya- the blushing, messy haired love of your life laying comfortably next to you.

he pushes himself off of your lap and takes you in his, wrapping his arms around you in an embrace you wouldn’t trade for the world. he’s got hands that make hell seem cold. the way he laughs, the way his eyes gleam, he’s like a poem you wish you wrote.

you spend the rest of the night telling him dumb dad jokes, and he laughs at every single one. simply because its you.

Crystal Archives

I've heard off and on some want for a communal profile collection, a place to post stories, and find events all under one roof since the old RPC went down. Chaos had created their own replacement but was very local to their own data-center. That same group has been building a version for the Crystal data-center at https://crystalarchives.org/

There is also a Dalamud mod for viewing this profile information in game not unlike the early days of TRP on WoW.

While the site has been up for a while, it now also imports the roleplay events from the FFXIV RP Event Calendar, giving another easy way to keep up with what is happening when.

NEW EVENT ROLEPLAY.

In honor of National Tofu Day, we will have a special event roleplaying topic that will take place all of September 2023 for any characters you want to participate with! All information and rules can be found at the beginning of the topic, which is linked HERE.

La Selva Malvada: The Wicked Jungle. The God of Stone, the God of Water, and the God of Earth have grown bored waiting for their time in the spotlight, and have selected several Sobremesa and Asemerbos residents at random to partake in a sudden, survival-based "game" they have prepared especially for them. All participating characters will spawn at random at one of these gods' shrines, in a strange jungle full of danger and surprises. The characters will spawn powerless and weaponless, as if they just spawned in the Sobremesa dimension. They will spawn in camouflage cargo pants, black t-shirt, and combat boots only. They will now have to survive for a month.

Please use ⁠the event-rp-plotting channel on Discord, or the Our Community topic on the forum, to discuss and plot anything involving the event with others! Use that topic or the thread Contacting the MODs within that Discord channel to ask the MODs any questions about the event specifically, to ask MODs to roll for your characters, etc.

Kinship FOB Helios

"I'm just...concerned, sir." Colonel Bell said to her superior, Commander Owen McEvedy as the two walk down the hallway in the Kinship FOB medical wing.

"About what, Colonel?" He asks. He's in a good mood, all things considered. Not only has the Commanding General had delivered not only one of his people hge thought dead, but also, a great deal of good and...interesting news.

"...about Elenor, sir." she says, the taller raptor woman stopping infront of a closed door.

"Doc's say she'll recover fully. And Melissa mentioned that the SLDF has resources to help with the other scars." he says, stopping by her. "You worry too much." He says with a smile.

Bell blushes slightly.

"Eh, really should get a move on with that..." he thinks, remembering his conversation with Melissa earlier.

"Be that as it may, sir...I have concerns about what will occur should any of the clan based systems pick up on her...or indeed, any of our genetics." She look pointedly at Owen when she says this.

"Ah, that..." He says. She has a point. While Melissa at least...and others...are supportive, others might not be. Still, having a Commanding General in your corner counted for a great deal.

"...I don't know...maybe the word "Wolverine" won't be a dirty word someday."

Bell cocks her head slightly, confused. "Again, be that as it may...I am still concerned about what will happen if some of the more...zealous groups find out."

"I'll handle it, if it comes to that..." He says, reassuringly. "Besides, who's gonna know?"

"...I suppose you are correct, sir."

He smiles, and reaches out and pats her arm. "Like I said, you worry too much." he says, more softly. "Now come on, got some things I need to talk to you about."

The two begin to walk away.

A silly early-days QSMP moment I love was that time when everyone started using Gegg's Egg signs while they were waiting for Slime to respawn. It would've been fun to see them all turn into Eggs for a day like Pacovo!

not enough people are talking about the conflict in the west philippine sea. this has been an ongoing dispute that has deprived the philippines of access to its natural resources, risked the safety of its people and our livelihoods. china's actions at the moment put us at risk of war, which the united states will likely take advantage of.

note that this is not an attack on china or the chinese people. i am not advocating for xenophobia. all i am presenting are facts and data collected from historical accounts and articles.
