Timeline

Age 0:

Is born to Yukichi Tsukimoto and Ayame Tsukimoto in Niigata

Age 6:

His younger sister, Nonoka, is born, making him an older brother

He comes home from school one day to find his parents murdered and Nonoka missing from her crib. It's unknown what happened to her 

Swears to find his younger sister no matter how long it takes 

Due to not having any other relatives, Seiji is put in the foster care system 

Age 7:

Meets Ayumu Hayami during class and befriends him 

Age 12:

Begins acting out and getting into trouble

Quickly gains a reputation as one of the worst delinquents in Niigata  

Meets Shotaro Kusanagi, a police officer who tries to get Seiji to change his ways 

Age 16:

Nearly drops out of high school but is convinced by Shotaro to stick it out 

Age 17:

Crosses the wrong people, and one day, while out with Ayumu is shot, nearly dying if not due to the efforts of Shotaro 

Swears to get his life together

Is inspired by Shotaro to become a police officer just like him

Age 18:

Graduates high school and enters university to obtain his degree in criminal justice

Age 22:

Graduates university 

Passes the national exam, starts police training

Age 23:

Meets underclassman Wataru Sasaki in the police academy and befriends him 

Age 24:

Finishes police training and officially becomes an officer for the Niigata Police Department, which is now under the orders of Chief of Police, Shotaro Kusanagi 

During one of his first assignments meets, Kirimi Satonaka, also known as “The Bloody Mist”, the leader of an infamous Bōsōzoku gang called “Sekirei”

Sees himself in Kirimi and after a series of events, which include Kirimi hitting him upside the head with a metal bat, helps her turn her life around 

Their relationship eventually turns into one of love. However, it is not without controversy for both of them 

Age 26:

Seiji proposes to Kirimi, and they get married.

Age 27:

Kirimi gives birth to their son, Kohei

Age 34:

Shotaro is shot and killed during a shootout gone wrong. Is honored by the city of Niigata as a hero

Much to his shock, Seiji discovers he’s been given the offer to become the next Chief of Police

After much consideration, Seiji agrees

Becomes the Chief of Police for the Niigata Police Department  

Age 35:

Kirimi gives birth to their daughter, Yaeka

Takes down a major gang in Niigata, arresting many of their members, including several of the top brass 

As revenge, several of the remaining gang members break into the Tsukimoto residence and murder Kirimi and Kohei 

Yaeka is left miraculously unharmed in her crib 

Seiji throws himself into his work, trying to ignore his overwhelming grief 

Yaeka is often left in the care of Ayumu and his family

Age 36:

Ayumu loses his temper and smacks some sense into Seiji, telling him that Yaeka already lost her mother and brother. She didn't need to lose her father as well 

Seiji sees reason and starts to raise Yaeka more independently

Age 38:

Meets Lyall Shiba, the newest detective of the Niigata Homicide Department, and his newest headache 

Age 39:

Present.

Is asked by Wataru to help him with his current case involving killers who plan to strike next at the DRB

Seiji is set to decline until he sees a picture of [RETRACTED] and is stunned by █ █ █ █ █ █ █

Hello there, my lovely anon! I definitely can do that - I really couldn't come up with solid ideas, so I admit to taking the lazy way out, so have a pretty comprehensive list on what type of Benders everyone would be in this AU! And guys, there are so many characters in Gintama so I swear it wasn't as easy and lazy as it looks! Thanks for sending in a request and I hope you'll enjoy!

Okay, so we're going into this AU with there being the four major bending types - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Each bending type is as it is portrayed in Avatar: The Last Airbender, with people possessing different degrees of bending and different skills being present within each bending type.

So, when considering which type of Bender each character would be, I kind of broke it down into personality types and traits and qualities to look for, based on what I figure the 'stereotypical' Bender is for each of the four.

Earth Benders are a little rough around the edges, slow to anger, slow to decide on things, but stubborn once their mind is made up. They can be sensitive and they are often very patient.

Air Benders are gentle souls, respectful and adaptable, changeable. They're fast, both in their movements and in their thoughts.

Water Benders are typically calm and easy-going, flexible enough to adapt to their companions or situations. They're often quite easy to talk to and rather content with their lives.

Fire Benders are often prideful and confident individuals who are loyal, determined and ambitious. They can be very playful and fun but they often also have very short fuses on their tempers, which can be very volatile and explosive.

Phantom thief of Kugane An priceless jewel necklace disappeared in the middle of tea ceremony you held for your important business partners, with only a calling card and a cherry blossom left on its wake? Or maybe an old heirloom katana catched your eye, but the current owner is less willing to part with it? Aya’s main income comes from stealing (liberating) valuables, and selling them on to be sold on black markets. Maybe something got stolen from you? Maybe you need something stolen? Or maybe you are running a black market, and happen to be in need of her services.

A teahouse regular Aya loves to spend her time in high-class teahouses and theatres. Maybe you catched a glimpse of an elegently dressed, pale auri woman, when visiting such events.

The princess of lost Sasaki family The Sasaki family used to run a bathhouse in Kugane. While being one of wealthiest families in the city, the source of the wealth was not as much the bathhouse, but ties to local yakuza. To strenghten these bonds, young Ayame was to be wed with the son of said yakuza family. Not long after the date for bonding ceremony was decided, an anonymous letter to sekiseigumi shed light on several crimes, supposedly committed by the Sasaki family. After trials, the leaders of Sasaki family were executed, while the others lost their wealth and standing in the city, being expelled from Kugane. Everyone except young Ayame, who as orphaned minor, was not seen responsible for the crimes of her parents. A local monster slayer, Asagi Homura adopted young Ayame just some time after. Maybe you are someone with a link to late Sasaki family? Maybe one of the yakuza family, she was supposed to be married into.
