For most of his brothers, there wasn’t that much of a difference between the Republic and the Empire. They were soldiers, first and foremost, and didn’t care about politics.

For Tech, it was different. The new leadership finally recognized he could be of more use as a scientist instead of being part of a "special force".

(He sometimes missed them, so lonely it physically hurt. But that was just a little sacrifice for a greater good.)

On Bracca, Crosshair corners Hunter and Omega before they can get aboard the Marauder and retrieve the others. Reasoning doesn't work, not with the chip in and Hunter already injured. After shooting Hunter and leaving him to die, Crosshair takes Omega to Kamino, to lure the rest of the Batch into a trap.

There are stories shared by the cadets on Kamino, about ghosts and demons and troopers that got changed into something else, something inhuman. During the day, older clones often laugh at the childish superstitions, but at night, many of them could swear they've seen eyes glowing in the dark.

Inspired by paperback_rascal on tumblr head canon about Crosshairs having tapetum lucidum and scaring other cadets in the night

The comics is another installment of the idea that Crosshair sees perfectly in the dark, also inspired by @kalm5​‘s idea that they posted after we talked about how, if Clone Force 99 was such a top secret unit, that most clones, especially young clone cadets, wouldn’t know about them so The Bad Batch would probably became… some sort of Kamino’s urban legends amongst the clone cadets?

Clones obviously stumbled upon them one way or another but since they look different and probably the encounters were very brief that some sort of stories begun to form about them, then rumor mill would do the rest, blowing everything out of the proportion!

Hunter doesn’t remember what happened after he died. He just remembers Crosshair shooting him through the heart on Ryloth and waking up in a strange place in front of an even stranger Sith. Only, he’s in the body of a nine-year-old, and the remainder of his squad are about to walk into a suicide mission which will lead them straight back to Crosshair.

It’s supposed to be a simple undercover mission, gathering intel to see if the leadership of the planet of Luna XI is intending to join the Separatists. It becomes decidedly not simple very, very quickly, when the Lunians realize that Echo isn’t Anika Skywalker’s personal droid, but a human. Thankfully, or maybe not, they don’t realize the true nature of their relationship.

Crosshair expected the Empire to find him on Kamino. What he did not expect was to suddenly and inexplicably find himself years in the past, before the Clone Wars even began. What is he to do with himself now, if there’s no Empire to serve? Well, perhaps he can train the clone cadets on Kamino, preparing them for the coming war. It’s not what he wants, but it’s still something.

Hunter thought finding Omega would be the end of fighting. That they could finally choose to live the lives they’ve wanted for so long. Until the Empire shows up on Pabu, ending their short stay, and something surfaces that will change their lives forever.

They are Jedi. They are clones. But more than that, they're Clone Force 99, and that is the most important thing in their lives. Until Order 66, when Crosshair turns on them for reasons they can't understand. And then Hunter starts dreaming of a little girl who is calling to him, begging for his help. Omega is their sister, and they won't leave her to die at Crosshair's hands.

The Batch lost Crosshair on a mission shortly after Echo joined. They thought him dead, grieved him. But Crosshair survived, and it's not until after the Empire's formation, after the Batch has walked away, that they find him again. Crosshair isn't the same as he once was, but then, neither are they. Only together can they mend their broken pieces.

Tech doesn’t fall, and Hemlock doesn’t capture Omega on Ord Mantell. Instead, it’s Hunter who falls into the Empire’s hands. Crosshair never expected to see him again, not like this and not here. They can only try to survive, but then, Hemlock takes Hunter’s mind… and erases it. And Crosshair is alone with a brother who would kill him if so ordered.
