Here's our fill for the square "lies". :)
Anika Fell with the fall of the Jedi. She may be an Inquisitor now, from reluctance to leave the Empire along with her former master, but that has not lessened her attachment to the clones.

After few drinks at 79's to celebrate the victorious mission, Anakin teaches Crosshair how to braid hair.

apparently, it's not my first work about Crosshair being CF99's barber -> [LINK] <-

Echo canonically being sentimental (and a sweetheart)

With his armor, there's also the "For Hevy" memorial, the fact he kept Rex's handprint, and that he put the Bad Batch skull on his armor before he even joined them
Tumblr media
Echo holding 99 as he died has always stuck out to me as one of the saddest/sweetest things in TCW (especially since the show rarely actually shows clones mourning/expressing much emotion)
I also noticed that Echo is often the one to mention his brothers by name, and make sure they're remembered. And of course his entire thing about saving his brothers and leaving no one behind. (Also that he turned the call signs into this like nickname/inside joke thing with Omega is so adorable to me ahh)

And then there's whatever this is:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Not even a reaction to the name (and we know they are good at implying expression under those helmets)! I know this is old news but it bears saying lol. They had the perfect opportunity here to not only address Echo's loss, but also to honor Fives and the sacrifice he made to discover the chips. A sacrifice which saved Ahsoka, Rex, and now the Bad Batch. This is obviously not the first time Echo and Rex talked about Fives, he knows he's dead (I firmly believe he would not have left the 501st if Fives was still alive), but come on! This did the bare minimum to check the box of 'mention Fives.' How about you cut Wrecker getting attacked by a sarlacc or whatever and give that screen time to show us an actual conversation?
Like I found this bit in an interview:
While the conversation obviously never happened onscreen, Corbett says that doesn't mean it never happened, suggesting the two talked offscreen, saying "For Fives, I imagine that Rex and Echo had that conversation after he was rescued off of Skako Minor, and I know in Season 1 we did have Rex reference Fives on Bracca," adding "So, in my headcanon, they've had many conversations about Fives."
And I'm just like... Jennifer! You don't have to have headcanons, you are literally the writer! Show us!!
(Also he should have gotten his handprint again no I will never let this go)

Another day spent pondering how Star Wars managed to get the ‘lost man gains a child (begrudgingly) but then looking after that child becomes his whole purpose’ trope so SO RIGHT 😭😭😭

I like to think this scene is the moment Crosshair decided they were keeping the reg (not Hunter -- Crosshair. Because he's the baby brother and he gets what he wants). Crosshair is highly skilled and extremely irritating at times but he values loyalty, competency, and valor, and I think he saw all three in Echo right off the bat.
Crosshair was kind of the one who stuck beside Echo and General Skywalker during this arc. (I would like to point out that he shot threats off of Mr. The-Chosen-One twice in these episodes, thus proving his cool factor and my belief that Anakin was always slightly overrated.) He got a front-row seat to watch this broken, malnourished POW get jerked straight out of cryo just to 1) goof off and snark to his captain and general, 2) jump on a living dragon thing and just wing it like "Sure I can fly this why not" and 3) start popping airborne droids with ZERO armor and a borrowed (stolen?) blaster.
Of course Crosshair looked at Echo, then to his brothers, then back to Echo and went "He's ours now, deal with it." Echo reminded him so much of himself and his squadmates that he imprinted on sight.

Can I be honest for a second and say that one of my biggest fanfiction pet peeves is when someone will write their character or the reader insert as someone who should in theory be really badass (for example a Jedi or a Mandalorian, or an Avenger, or a soldier/fighter in general) and then make them really weak and basically not be able to handle themselves at all? Like come on realistically these mfs should be able to kill someone. Maybe this is just me being a girl who isn't girly, but I just want a character like this who can actually defend themselves and doesn't cry and need to be picked up by their s/o all the time.

Fox and the Mandalorian Adoption Instinct VS all the People he’s Stolen from
Rex- biggest rivalry. Fox got all the favorites, Fives, Echo, Dogma, and Tup but that’s only the main characters. The 501st are too chaotic and often end up involved in something top secret and they get a fake death certificate and drafted into the Guard as a result. The collective is referred to as Rex’s Idiots cause they’re too unruly to be trusted anywhere near the senate. Great for off world missions tho. Rex would fight tooth and nail to get them back once he finds out they’re not dead but Corries are too territorial. Anyone who goes back chose to.
Wolffe- very few, and only in extreme cases. Their adopted father/general always wants to get involved in the case and therefore it must be watertight. Avoided at all costs. Causes a huge custody battle after the war. The Clones being fought over have long since accepted having two fathers and are just enjoying the show.
Cody- pissed he never knew bc he didn’t figure it out till he got the memo. “I have your troopers and you can’t have them back finders keepers lol” is just something he opposes on principle. Trusts Fox to be a good dad but still.
Ponds- complains to Windu about it, and when he hints he may have known about Fox’s nonconsensual adoption program he pretends like he did too
Hunter- he don’t get an opinion on this because Fox claims Echo as part of the Domino Twin set and got adopted as collateral. Only a little grumpy about it
Anakin- when he finds out Fox tried to fake Ashokas death to get a second Jedi working for him (Quinlan Vos being the first) he’s not really sure how to feel about about it
Padme- her handmaidens dividing their loyalty equally between Fox and Padme is understandable, and she only tolerates him because he used their help to scam so many people she also worked against. They have a civil negotiation on who gets them on what holidays.
