Does anyone miss mando season 1 & 2. Like what it used to be? When it was just this simple story of a father & his son & every now and then a friend would show up and they’d team up. I kinda wish that the mando storyline & rebels storyline weren’t forced to be the same storyline. I think both are hindered by that & have to make compromises & both are not what they should be. Just my opinion

in honor of the train wreck that was season 3 of one of my favorite shows coming to an end, here is a list of my personal favorite fics on ao3 that filled the hole in my soul. i've read (and reread) everything on this list at least twice, and i love ALL OF IT.

The Deserter by AgentMalkere (din djarin/migs mayfield, complete)

Migs isn’t certain what he’s expecting when he follows Scary-Cop Lady, but the man in Mandalorian armor scares a good ten years off his life. Thankfully, it’s painted green with red and yellow accents – not unpainted, shiny silver. Migs has zero percent interest in ever running into Mando again. He doesn’t have a fucking death wish.

The green Mandalorian isn’t alone. There’s another woman who projects a frozen, deadly calm that Migs wants nothing to do with and… a guy. No, seriously, in this intimidating lineup there’s this super unassuming looking human with brown hair and brown eyes and a sort of soft looking face.

Migs isn't looking to get invested - he just wants to survive. He gets invested anyway.

(Din lost more than just Grogu and his ship on Tython.)

Boba Fett likes to be in control. Din Djarin feels more out of control with every passing day. Giving control over to Boba would make both of them happy. Din just doesn't understand why that has to be so complicated.

(Or, rebuilding an entire culture is hard. Boba helps, more or less.)

Din is used to being a faceless bounty hunter no one listens to. Being Mand'alor is...an adjustment.

Or, 5 Times Din Djarin was Surprised at his Position as Literal Ruler of a Planet...while accidentally winning the affection of said planet.
