I'm sorry it has taken me so long to answer this. Easter is long gone 😅

Thank you for showing so much interest in and love for HFD Curtis! I greatly enjoyed talking some more about him and their story 🫶🏻💚

In order to talk about what he does now I need to first talk about where they actually are. Aka where they settled down and how they got there.

After that fateful night in which Curtis almost lost her, he first brought her to a friend. An ally so to say, that could look over her, and do a first medical aid. Since Wilford controls basically the entirety of their home city they couldn’t go to any emergency room or hospital without him knowing.

And after that, they pretty much left in a hurry. They packed a bag or two with the most important necessities. Their IDs, all the bar cash they both had and a change of clothes. With a bag for each of them, they left the city in a hurry, driving on and on to get out of Wilfords reach.

In the first couple of weeks, they lived as nomads, at day stopping by the nearest town or city to get food and at night sleeping in the car with which they traveled. Putting distance behind them and Wilford and making sure they weren’t followed. Curtis was one of many people indebted to Wilford but Wilford also had a special liking and interest in Curtis so they chose to play it safe.

Thank god they weren’t followed. Here and there they would stay a couple of days or even a week or two at one place, where they did small jobs to earn a little more money when they were running low. But ultimately they didn’t stay at any of those places.

It wasn’t right. It wasn’t the perfect place for them. But with the passing time and her growing belly, the necessity to find this perfect place became a much more dire need. Curtis definitely felt pressured to find them something at least, so they wouldn’t welcome a baby into this world in their car.

The car in fact was what would be their angel in disguise. It was a quiet and small coastal or lake town they planned on passing through. Entirely opposite to the big and bustling city in which they had grown up and lived their entire - previous - lives. But as fate would the car would break down just down the street of a small restaurant/pub + inn. Curtis, even with a basic knowledge of mechanics, found himself unable to fix the car. At least for them to keep driving that day.

So they decided to stay at the inn. For just one night. As luck would have it they were the only travelers staying there that night and during dinner in what turned out to be the local's favorite meeting place. Sticking out like a sore thumb from everyone else they were quick to be roped into a conversation and made friends with some of the locals. Something they soon would need, as come next morning it would turn out that their car had a total engine failure and they would never be able to make enough money in time to pay for the repair and keep moving.

Some of their newfound friends took pity on them, offering them a little apartment above their woodworking & construction shop in exchange for Curtis’ working with them.

That’s how Curtis and his girl found themselves in the place that would ultimately become their home. Curtis turns out to be incredibly good with wood, a natural really. So he starts out helping in the shop, learning how to work with wood and create but he also helps on the sides where they build houses. Through his natural affinity with the work he quickly gets offered a permanent and full-time position that pays well.

With the soon-to-happen arrival of their son he takes the job and they manage to move into their own little home just some short weeks before they welcome their little one into the world.

He definitely was scared to become a father. There were lots of doubts in him. He didn’t think he’d be a good dad, he didn’t think he could offer her and their child any (good) quality of life so he was apprehensive at first. And while he would have never told her to get rid of the child in any form or way, he kept his distance. Both physical and emotional at first. Which is rather hard if you spend most of your time secluded in the small space of the car, with just the radio between them.

A couple of towns over, they manage to find a health center that does free ultrasounds. It’s the first time he truly realizes he is to become a father and it is also the moment when he realizes that he wants this, no matter how scared it is. It’s the turning point for him, as something clicks and he realizes he can’t keep acting like he did since they fled the city.

While Curtis doesn’t lose his fear of being a father or get comfortable with the thought of it overnight, something slowly shifts in him. Once they reach the place where they’ll ultimately stay and he begins working at the woodshop his employer and colleagues are a great help to make him realize he can do this too.

Holding his son in his arms for the first time worked like a charm too. He cried and shook like a leaf, scared of hurting the little thing, but he also fell in love all over. With her and with the little tiny boy that barely was big enough to fit into both his hands. He promised himself and them that no matter how scared he was of screwing up, he would do his best to keep them safe and happy and provide for them.

Turns out he is quite the natural dad too! And his worries were for nothing. They manage to make a really nice life out there. The house that was albeit a little big for them and empty at first is transformed into a cozy and warm home by the two of them. 

And Curtis manages to provide for them so well that they can add to their family in the future with no worries. (Which they will at some point. First with a dog and a cat, maybe even some small livestock like a couple of chickens or totally wild like a horse, and then with another kiddo or two).

He works himself up the ladder in the woodshop. From a low worker in construction to a site manager, to the leader of his own construction team in the company. Until at last he is asked to take over the shop when the employer is ready to retire.

It's also near Easter! Meaning Easter Egg hunts! Imagine gathering up all the little ones and sending them on a big ol' easter egg hunt around the yard! 😃

I feel Actor (competitive), Illinois (He's used to finding new artifacts!), Noir (Determined), Yancy (Outside! Fun Activity), and William/Wilford (Candy and Hunting?!) would be pretty adventurous, running off to try and get the most eggs! 😎

Meanwhile Babies like Damien/Dark (Needs help walking/embarrassed about not being "professional"), Engie (Wants to go play but feels bad leaving their caretaker behind!), and Eric (Shy+Smol, little anxious baby!) may need a bit of handholding~ 😊

I could also imagine teaming them up, but that might be a little mean! 😝

WAILS. my weekend is super busy but I literally had to hop on to make sure I answered this in time for Easter

see, some families employ color-coding the eggs or something like that so the younger ones have an equal shot as the older ones, but with the ＷＫＭ boys that wouldn't work: even if Mark IS smaller than William that day, and he often is, he'd have a meltdown if you made it such an obvious point 😭 he tries so hard to keep up with him always..!

with a big group like you mention, though, it might work to have two areas -- use the more open, flat part of the yard to spread eggs through for the babies, and tell the older ones they're to run further out to where eggs are actually hidden-hidden, up in trees and such

still, the Actor can be a poor sport, so he'll likely need his caregiver close by to help distract him and/or help him process his feelings constructively; we don't want any tears or fights on Easter if we can help it!

little Damien would be just darling, my heart... he'd be so delighted by the bright colors of the eggs in the grass, picking each one up and showing you with a big, bright smile. sitting down with him after and he likes to shake them, excited by the sounds the different kinds of candy make, before you open them. he's a very sensory-oriented baby <3

LITTLE ENGIE... OH MY GOD... they'd dart off to grab an egg, but if they got too far, run back like wait, you're still with me, right? 🥺 his caregiver holding his basket so he gets to run back to them each time. get the lil guy a lot of exercise... he'll need a nap before dinner for sure

Madpat

- He’s like a dog, you scold him, he’ll look like you kicked him and will give you those 🥺 eyes. But don’t be fooled! Shield your eyes from the dangers of Madpat’s look of innocence!

- He also brings dead things to people he likes, like a cat bringing dead birds. He is proud at what he brought, and wants you to put it up like a trophy.

- He brandishes that flame throwing chainsaw like it’s his baby. Hold it in his sleep like a stuff toy.

- While he was in prison, he was going to kill everyone there, but met a special someone who loves theater as much as he does. But why the weird Jersey accent if he’s from Ohio?

- You know his teddy costume? That’s his sensory onesie, he likes the way it feels and feels happy when he wears it.

- After the fire, he got burn marks all over his body, but to him it’s a sign that he always comes back. Get it…? No…? Okay-

Detective

- After the hot dog eating contest, Detective would no longer look at a hotdog the same again. He feels very nauseous at the mere sight of them.

- He still have nightmares about the Strong Man, feeling the pressure around his neck from his grip.

- Hates the sounds of snake slithering, makes his skin crawl.

- He misses Ro, and he feels like wherever his badge is, it’s keeping her comfort. It’s a sign to tell Ro that he’ll always be with her.

- He sleeps with Blanche at night, cuddling up into the stuffed horse while remembering the good times at the carnival.

- Is an expert at creating antidotes for any occasion, always be prepared he would always say.

Hermit

- I already added that he shakes like a dog when he gets wet, but I would also like to say after the shower, he shakes like that one rat video.

- He used to carve things into his wall, and became a habit in carving into random things. Rocks, walls, clothes, mattresses, people.

- A master at baking. Doesn’t matter if it’s meat or pastries, he could make Gordon Ramsey eat his heart out. One thing he can’t make is anything vegetable related, he’s likes a Middle Earth dwarf; he can’t stand vegetables.

- He also has the habit of collecting shiny objects, paperclips, rings, coins, spoons, anything that catches his eye.

- When he gets bored, he likes to make his own stories, then puts in more details to cover plot holes, then it becomes world building, then… he makes theories… ah… I see what they have in common.

Mack

- Has a sweet tooth, but doesn’t like admitting it since he believes it’s embarrassing. He would sneak into the pantry and nibbles on the cookies until Hermit caught him one night, and was happy that Mack likes his pastries.

- Has plants because it’s something only he has control over in his life. But he cares for those plants too, one touch from others and you’ll have a broken femur.

- He likes the cold, goes to Cryo every so often to relax and enjoy the cool air. That’s how Celci and Mack became mutuals, they both always complain about Mark’s antics.

- He’s a germaphobe, and carries hand sanitizer everywhere. That’s why he also likes the cold, it kills bacteria and he’ll feel safe.

- Even though he’s hates germs, he’s also touch starved. He never dated anyone, but someone he had a crush on hurt him so. So he also got them trust issues too. Poor man.

Warfpat

- Unlike Wilford who brandished his iconic butterfly knife, Warfpat carries a pair of scissors, he likes the way it slices through things.

- He thinks himself as the dad, and sees Matpat the mom, even though Matt is annoyed by his labeling. The others make fun of Matt and call him mom ironically and calls Warf dad, which makes him happy.

- Doesn’t sleep much. It’s not like he is nocturnal or has sleep deprivation, he physically doesn’t sleep, the amount of energy he has is immaculate. He likes to copy the others and sleep so he would relate to the egos.

- Warf likes to make scripts for his next interview, whether it’s for games or movies, he likes to post the scripts on the wall to see how it would look. He has Detective, Matt, and Mack to have second opinions, which makes him happy.

- He also likes stray cats. He walks around the streets and feeds them and gives them water. He wants to take them home but his studio manager doesn’t allow it, so feeding them is the next best thing.

- And the one things every egos have in common… is that they all love theater. You can’t change my mind on this.

Little wilford going crazy with a sugar rush, Actor taking forever and making the group late with his costume make up, engie Insisting they stay out until 1 am to see all the cool decorations and lights, Actor dragging everyone into a cuddle pile during their sleep over because the babies are sleepy

i feel like y/n is going to have to put a limit on the amount of candy wilford can have at a time so he doesn't go crazy with it, ahlkgjdsklag. although, granted, they might have difficulty enforcing that rule, i'm sure wilford has no trouble getting around them with his reality warping powers, so they may have to get creative with it, lol. i wish them luck XD

gosh, you know actor would go all out with his costume, and while it's certainly very cool and everyone's excited to see it, they also can't help but get a little impatient with him while he's putting it on ahgkasdjgjkl. y/n eventually just comes in and helps him, and while he's pouting because he really wanted to do it all himself, he also knows he's holding everyone up so he begrudgingly accepts their help. it won't stop him from sulking a little though :')

😭 engie is SO excited to see all the decorations and lights, they're just so cool!! he's dragging everyone around, wanting to see everything in the neighborhood, but then it gets later and later, his companions start to get more and more sleepy.......y/n has to start nudging him in the direction of the house because they're starting to have tired, cranky little ones on their hands hgdsalkjg. luckily, engie is starting to get sleepy as well, so he kind of goes along with it without too much fuss (and he's a pretty sweet baby anyway, rarely does he get that bratty with y/n. i love him sm.......)

and yesss they HAVE to end the night with a cuddle pile.......actor brings out all the pillows and blankets they have in the room to the floor, creating a little nest for them to all burrow in together......they're just the sweetest sight and y/n takes SO many pictures of them before they join in as well (and, ofc, they take pictures of their costumes and stuff beforehand, they're all just so precious 🥺)

3x08 IMPRESSIONS, YAHTZEE!

- I'm having a lot of fun with the titles hehehehe

- I couldn't watch this for ages because I spent the morning of the airing just uh. Watching a Sean Bean movie with @flameinthedarkness1 which was pretty rad, honestly. I had to digest that movie first before I watched this. THEN I had a stupid case analysis for my healthcare ethics class, so there's that too...anyway I saw it

I’ve been thinking a lot about weddings recently since my cousin is getting married soon! With that in mind, imagine how cute it’ll be when Wilford and JJ get married one day, like— Wilford wants everything to be perfect and amazing for his baby, so he just goes all out with finding a HUGE venue, pretty decorations, etc etc.

But also, I can assure you that the months of preparations that go into said wedding are HELL. JJ is a nervous wreck during said months and really impatient since Wilford doesn’t want him having to work too much and not worry so much but it’s just making him worry MORE. And Wilford is at the point where he’ll build the damn venue himself if he can’t find one that he and JJ both agree on. There’s lot of other things that go into it, but since I don’t know much about weddings, I will leave the rest of that to your imagination ✨

But also imagine Wilford falling in love all over again when he takes JJ to go for himself for a suit; he doesn’t know how he got so lucky and landed himself an angel 🥺

(and also the reactions of the other doms in their S/O in a SUIT, like— Dark telling Anti that formal wear suits (ha) him so much and Anti getting all pouty and blushy not wanting to admit that he, too, likes it or the one time BING of all people wants to look nice for a special occasion and Google stops functioning the moment he sees him LMAO)

Wilford leaving Melanie behind & Alex watching shouting for her mom was so painful I sobbed (that actually broke me, and talk about ✨ poetic cinema ✨) & (2x06 is a fing masterpiece btw, the whole episode, I didn't know I needed an hour of Melanie being a smol depressed ball of PTSD being all alone wandering around the station and hallucinating, but that totally benefited me and the show)💀

All of the soft Melanie and Alex's scenes. They're so precious and very important to me in a sentimental way, specifically when they were bonding in 2x03 and also Mel having to leave the coldlock where they hug🥺😭🥺

The therapy scene in 1x10 where Melanie opens up with Audrey about Alex was very very well done and very beautiful (we need more Melaudrey scenes)

Ruth's speech in 2x07 cuz talk about some good character development

The revolution battle in the nightcar in 1x08 was awesome to see

Ruth interrogating Melanie and Mel telling Ruth the truth about Wilford and the train in 1x08 was bittersweet and left me shattered when Ruth sent Mel to be executed

Josie's "death" scene in 1x07, that was not a cool thing from Melanie at all, Josie deserved better there (and she felt all of that pain from the cold too)

The plot twist at the end of 1x01 for Melanie made me think "Hell yeah, I'm already loving this show!"

Melanie finally letting her hair down in 1x10 wearing a jean jacket and cargo pants really made me feel things and idk and I didn't expect her to get even more attractive but that totally did it for me. Omg how could I forget TANK TOP MELANIE, now that tops jean jacket Mel and every Melanie look ever, also this woman is seriously shredded so if you haven't seen Jen without a shirt on yet that makes ✨tank top Mel✨ even better When Melanie softly hovered her hand over the picture of her and baby Alex, it's so subtle yet so deep

Ruth pulling a gun on Layton in 1x10 and saying "I'm a dignitary!" made me laugh my ass off

Honorable mentions:

Melanie and Jinju meditating and Mel giving up was really cute (their whole friendship was cute and I miss it)

The end of 2x10 where I sat on my couch for a good 5-10 minutes and said "What the fuck" because I was and still am disappointed in the way there was no hint or cliffhanger that indicated Melanie could be alive and after Alex read her letter I just felt sad and empty from that, then I proceeded to cry seconds later because I would have to wait a whole damn year to find out whatever the hell happened to her yet here we are...a year later.....

As you were dragged away, you could hear the cheers echoing off the steel walls. You could feel the overwhelming sensation of panic settling in your chest. It was all consuming as you started struggling against the man dragging you behind Claude, trying to pummel your fists against his padded chest and scratch at him. 

“Let me go! CURTIS!” you screamed, resorting to trying to bite at his hand wrapped around your upper arm. Claude scoffed seeing you give the guard a hard time and snapped over quickly, open palmed, she slapped your face to stun you. 

You panic turned to white hot rage at the woman, turning on her but the man tightened his grip, stopping all your movements. 

“For once in your miserable fucking life, will you stop it?! Jesus Christ you are not worth the effort Wilford puts in you. You don’t even make a good whore.” She spit in your face before turning back to open the door to Wilford’s chambers once more, jerking her head to direct the guard to bring you in. “He will be back soon, make sure she doesn’t do something stupid can you? Just don’t hurt her, Wilford will have both our heads if anything happens to the precious prize.” 

She sneered out the last words at you, You spat at her with a smug smile when it landed on her face. She screamed in disgust and wiped at her face with her sleeve. “Tail Ender Pig, you are all so disgusting.” continuing to mutter as she left the room, the guard released you, standing at the door and his eyes followed you as you were sure to put distance between the two of you. 

Wilford’s area was the same as before. More luxurious than the others, you went towards the engine, the furthest you could get from the guard when he barked out. “That’s far enough.” 

Flipping him the bird, you moved to sit in a nearby chair, rubbing at your belly protectively. 

Right now the anger was the only thing controlling your fear. You had no idea what was going to happen to Jace, was Curtis even still alive. You couldn’t think like that, because you would lose it if Curtis was dead. 

He promised you that he would find a way, swore to you.

“Let me go! CURTIS!” you screamed, resorting to trying to bite at his hand wrapped around your upper arm. Claude scoffed seeing you give the guard a hard time and snapped over quickly, open palmed, she slapped your face to stun you. 

You panic turned to white hot rage at the woman, turning on her but the man tightened his grip, stopping all your movements. 

“For once in your miserable fucking life, will you stop it?! Jesus christ you are not worth the effort Wilford puts in you. You don’t even make a good whore.” She spit in your face before turning back to open the door to Wilford’s chambers once more, jerking her head to direct the guard to bring you in. “He will be back soon, make sure she doesn’t do something stupid can you? Just don’t hurt her, Wilford will have both our heads if anything happens to the precious prize.” 

She sneered out the last words at you, You spat at her with a smug smile when it landed on her face. She screamed in disgust and wiped at her face with her sleeve. “Tail Ender Pig, you are all so disgusting.” continuing to mutter as she left the room, the guard released you, standing at the door and his eyes followed you as you were sure to put distance between the two of you. 

Wilford’s area was the same as before. More luxurious than the others, you went towards the engine, the furthest you could get from the guard when he barked out. “That’s far enough.” 

Flipping him the bird, you moved to sit in a nearby chair, rubbing at your belly protectively. 

Right now the anger was the only thing controlling your fear. You had no idea what was going to happen to Jace, was Curtis even still alive. You couldn’t think like that, because you would lose it if Curtis was dead. 

He promised you that he would find a way, swore to you. 

But promises made were not always kept. You swiped at your face furiously to hide the tears, thinking about Curtis would have to come later, when it actually could sink in. For now Curtis was still alive, he would come for Jace, that was all that mattered. 

Time seemed to stretch, tension building when you heard the door shift open. The guard stepped aside and Wilford walked in, followed by Grey who was bloody, limping and spotting several cuts and bruises. 

I hope you feel every single one Curtis gave you, you hissed in your mind looking at him before turning away. 

“Well look at you sweetheart, told you we would be getting to know each other better.” His hand came to stroke your cheek and you jerked away, making him laugh. “Soon enough you will learn not to pull away.” Grey said while Wilford handed him some towels to clean himself up. 

“As promised, she is your prize. You just have to wait till after the birth.” 

You shifted in your seat, your hand still protective over your stomach to face Wilford, ignoring Grey for now. “Where is Curtis?” 

“Well she isn’t going to be much longer till she spits out that spawn for you. I don’t mind waiting.” Grey spoke over you, ignoring your question. 

“Weeks Grey, not long at all.” Wilford flipped to a calendar, and to your disgust you saw where he had appointments set up with the doctor. Your name, some others, you shuddered at it. 

“Is Curtis still alive?” You started again, but both men ignored you once again when you finally gave a scream, willing them to at least acknowledge you. 

Wilford blinked at you calmly while Grey scowled at you. “Curtis really didn’t teach you any manners did he? Know what we are doing first.” 

You hitched your chin, refusing to back away from him in fear. 

“Curtis is no longer your concern Y/N.” Wilford started. “You won’t be seeing him again.” 

Your eyes welled up at these words and your face pinched trying to process these. You can’t break down right now. Jace needs you to keep it together. 

“Fine, but this child is my concern. I need to know what his future is going to be.” 

Wilford broke in a grin at this one, rubbing his hands together. “Of course, you spent all this effort supplying me with Curtis’s child. I have high hopes for this one.”

Wilfords Demands Preview

Curtis was quiet for that moment watching you, worried at how quiet you had turned. He made a move to touch you and you withdrew from him. 

“Please dont… just this once.” You asked and Curtis for the first time withdrew from you and moved to the chair at the table, rubbing a hand over his head. 

Any other time this happened, it didn’t mean much to him except that his current charge was leaving. But to hear that you had his baby growing inside you made conflicting feelings. Part of him was thrilled, for whatever reason he wanted to see you grow and need him. To cradle his child to your chest and whisper sweet nothings. Warming his bed and filling his life. 

The dread followed close on that feeling, because nothing good ever happened on the train. Even if he won, you were still going to lose the child. And Curtis didn’t think he could handle that pain, but more importantly, that you couldn’t handle it. Pushing to a stand, he pounded on the locked door. Hard enough for you to jump “Curtis, what are you doing?” The door opened once more. 

“I need to see Wilford.” 

The guard shook his head. “Not till your appointed time.” Curtis surged forward, pushing the man back into the hallway wall and fisted his hand in his gear to lift him off his feet, snarling out. 

“I need to see Wilford now.” 

Let him come. Came a cackle in a walkie and Curtis let him go.

He didnt look back as your panicked voice called to him once again. “CURTIS! What are you doing?” You were trying to untangle from the bed when the door slammed shut, the last view Curtis had of you was your look of confusion and panic. 

Without a word, Curtis was escorted back to Wilford’s. Being let in, Curtis didn’t even hesitate as he brushed past Claude, who huffed in annoyance. “Asshole.” 

“You can’t take her child.” 

Wilford was standing up in the engine admiring the swirls of mechanic blue coming to life. “Isn’t she just beautiful Curtis.” Curtis went up the steps into the hellish thing, not finding the beauty that Wilford seemed to be admiring. 

“Let her keep it.” He started again, clenching his hands at his sides to keep from grabbing Wilford. He knew if he did Claude would shoot him in two seconds, but the urge not to snap the man’s neck burned through him.  

Wilford finally broke from whatever he was admiring and turned sharply to ascend down the steps, leaving Curtis standing there. “You two can just make more Curtis. Why this time? You never cared before what happened to them.”
