Innocence

I was doing this for the @year-of-the-echidna thing because I love my boy Knuckles. It's not as Knuckles-centric as I was originally going for but yah know.

You ever think about how Sonic saw the Echidnas like 2 seconds before they killed his mom and probably had nightmares about it and then another one shows up and threatens his new family and kicks the hell out of him? You ever think about how Knuckles has spent his whole life probably dreaming about justice and revenge against the ones who took his family and his entire life and culture from him? You ever think about how they've been terrified of and hating the idea of each other their whole lives? You ever think about how Sonic has gained everything that was taken from Knuckles (family, trust, the ability to be carefree), and he desired it up to the point of being willing to overlook Robotnik's obvious red flags and consider him a friend? You ever think about how hard it must have been for him to trust Sonic and accept that he'll never get any sort of personal revenge for what happened to his tribe? You ever think about how their friendship has healed them both of the burdens and fears they've been carrying since that day?

Anyway that's crazy.

finally got around to posting this. In real life female Echidnas will carry their egg in their pouch leading up to the egg hatching (usually hatches after 10 days) and then keep the puggle in the pouch for another 4 to 5 weeks until it’s quills start coming in and then she will move the puggle to a burrow, where she care for it until it’s about 7 months old .

So with Mobian Echidnas I had the thought that it would be common practice to keep the egg in a satchel / sling as a way of keeping it safe and close while it’s not in a nest (crib ??) this will be done by either parent and they will also keep the newly hatched puggle in it as well until they are old enough to start walking.

I am really bad at writing so hopefully this makes sense lol, if it’s not obvious I love echidnas they are one of my favorite animals ( Have been long before I got into sonic) feel free to use this idea.

Since it's Knuckles Wachowski's week, I rewatched both movies, the first a couple nights ago and the second tonight.

And may I just say

No fictional characters have ever awakened my maternal instincts as strongly as the Wachowski children have.
