Seriously though, Baby Love is so good. I desperately need Jacqueline Wilson to write more YA.

Like, JW is the mvp of children's literature, don't get me wrong, but you free her from the restraints of kidlit and she can really go ham, and the result is Baby Love, the one (1) Jacqueline Wilson book where it was deemed necessary to include a content warning at the start.

But it's so good. It's so good. It's so rare to have a book set in the 60s that focuses entirely on how absolutely awful it was for a lot of types of people instead of glamourising it in the slightest. Especially a book that focuses on the rampant sexualisation of schoolgirls and then the schoolgirls themselves being blamed for it. It's so apparently in media from the 60s, but modern media about the 60s barely talks about it.
