dp x dc prompt: de-aged dani and her ghost king teen dad au

dani (or ellie here, i think that's more appropriate) destabilises again during her travels and calls danny to help. he arrives in time to save her but not in time to stop the ectoplasm in her body from changing her form back to her actual age. so danny is 17 with a 2-year-old daughter and he can't take her with him to his parents' house because she keeps randomly turning into her ghost form. it's just not safe for her. he can't stay in the zone either because people will want to challenge him for the crown of the infinite realms and he doesn't want his kid to be caught in the crossfire.

so he sabotages the portal to stop the ghost attacks - burning bridges with his parents in the process - then he, sam and tucker plan his move to gotham where he will have access to as much ectoplasm as amity and where no one will look twice at a teenage dad living alone. vlad finds out and actually helps for once, sending him money so he can do homeschooling while ellie's too young to control her powers. (he would have tried to suggest they stay with him but ellie uses her ghostly wail everytime he even tries to approach her)

he's not exactly thrilled about raising his kid in the city of crime but he at least knows he's strong enough to protect her. plus, jazz is already studying at gotham u so he's not alone. he could do without his rogue gallery visiting and offering to babysit though, how did they even get there without a portal?

danny is very stressed and the bats are not happy about unknown entities in their territory.

Starting off by saying I hate “mom Danny” bc it tends to be p transphobic and misgendering, so if anyone adds it to my post I’m blocking them.

Tim making his Kon clone baby, but the cloning chamber isn’t stable enough for the fetus. He’s desperately trying anything that he think might work, when he comes across Phantom. Phantom who has experience with stabilizing clones.

Danny had heard whispers through the grapevine (Ellie who’d joined the Teen Titans as Phantasm) that there was someone attempting to make clones. He’d only meant to snoop and see if it was a Vlad situation. If any clones had been made and needed liberating. What he found was a newly minted Red Robin crying over a red blinking message on a cloning chamber. He warbled a quiet “please, Kon, I don’t want to live without you.”

Danny quickly realizing this wasn’t an attempt to replace and destroy, but actually someone grieving, in probably an unhealthy way, but who was Danny to judge, he’d once replaced Sam and Tucker with robots for less. So he decided to help Red Robin out. Sure, he hadn’t dealt with kryptonian dna before, but he was at least 89% sure halfa dna was way more complicated. And Red Robin had already figured out ways around the dna shenanigans, it was just the stability that wasn’t going well. Honestly, he didn’t think it would be as easy as an ecto dejecto like it had been for Ellie. But his parents had a lot of inventions that they’d started making to help out ghosts, once they’d realized Danny was Phantom. Maybe telling Red Robin about ghost IVF wasn’t his most thought through plan.

“I think what might help is an incubator.” Phantom had suggested.

Tim could only gesture at the cloning chambers that had failed him thus far. They were essentially huge incubators.

Phantom awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. “I meant, like, a living incubator. Like a surrogate.”

“Where am I going to find someone that I not only trust to carry the baby, but also would volunteer?” Tim raised an eyebrow at him. Hell, had Tim had the equipment to do so, he would have carried the baby, everything else be damned. He just didn’t want to be alone anymore.

Phantom blushed green and looked away. “It might take a little tinkering with the embryos to work with the physiology, but…. I could carry the baby for you. I mean, I’m trans, and even if I wasn’t, ghosts are kind of malleable in a reproductive sense. And there are options for IVF in ghost science. And like, my own clone is like my little sister. I’m also a protection spirit, so I would protect the baby with my entire afterlife. And I’m kind of rambling so you should say something before I embarrass myself.”

“You would be willing to carry a baby for me?” Tim was shell shocked by the offer.

“I mean, yeah. You’re a good guy. You’re not cloning him for a malicious reason. You’re just trying to bring back a piece of your friend because you love and miss him. Dedication that strong for someone who has left the living plain, is admirable. You realized early on that you wouldn’t be able to increase the speed in which the clone grew. You’ve been trying despite knowing that this clone will be a baby that’s going to be your child, and not just the friend you lost. And I wouldn’t mind giving up my body for a little bit so you can make your family.”

Tim certainly hadn’t meant to surge forward and kiss Phantom. “Thank you.” Tim pulled Phantom into a fierce hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

It took about a month for them to work out the kinks of making the baby safe for Danny’s body. In this time, Danny showing Red Robin his human form, and Tim revealing his own identity. It felt kind of wrong to keep his name from someone he intended to get pregnant with his child. Tim and Danny got close as they worked together on the baby. And there may have been a few more kisses shared between them. In the end, the baby ended up spliced with mostly Kon’s dna, some of Tim’s (to stabilize the kryptonian dna), and some of Danny’s (to keep the baby safe in the womb).

Once Danny was well and truly pregnant, he encouraged Tim to find Bruce. “I’ll keep the baby safe. You find your dad. If you need me for anything, I’m only a call away.” Tim hadn’t forgotten about Bruce, he’d just never thought it would take so long to set up cloning Kon. So much of his hurt and loneliness had fallen away in Danny’s presence, and Danny had let him hyper focus on making their baby.

“Probably terrible timing, but I’ve got to ask,” Tim swallowed nervously. “Be my boyfriend?”

Danny’s lopsided smile, thawed Tim’s nerves. “I think I could work with that. I hope you don’t mind kids though, I’m kind of pregnant.”

Tim huffed a laugh. “I’ll keep in touch while I’m away. Please keep me updated on the baby.”

Danny pulled him into a proper kiss, “I will.”

I’m mostly imagining Tim getting bump update photos and falling in love with his increasingly pregnant boyfriend, while he finds Bruce.

I’m also imagining after Bruce is back, Tim being like, “anyways gtg, my boyfriend is in his third trimester and I don’t want to miss the birth of our baby.” And peacing out before any bats could react, let alone stop him.

And also maybe when Kon comes back, there’s maybe a poly relationship started.

Also thinking about Tim getting Danny pregnant without the science.

Danny gets Dad, Tim gets Papa, and if Kon joins, he gets Poppy.

Batman sighs deeply and rubs a temple.

It was meant to be a simple space mission, nothing to big. Just a quick check and report back.

Only problem is the ones he would normally assign this to are all dealing with other things so he had to ask... Someone else...

Like...

The ones that were once Young Justice.

Look, they were the only only ones with a spaceship (How? He still had no idea, Tim keeps saying 'What happens in YJ, stays in YJ') that could go far out without problems, and even though he knew putting the old YJ team together might be a bad idea, he trusted them especially Red Robin to be just a bit more professional at least. Since they were no longer teens but young adults now.

And again it was meant to just be a quick mission.

Nothing big.

So...

So why was Young Justice currently wrangling two floating black haired toddlers, one with blue eyes while the other one had red, and a black haired baby.

Turns out they found these children floating in space on their way back from their mission, cryo sleeping in a ice block huddled and cuddled together around a well loved teddybear with a teal headband on its head.

Or they were sleeping in cryo sleep until Superboy brought the ice block in and the thing melted allowing the children to wake up.

Batman could feel a headache coming on when he noticed just how... attached Young Justice was becoming to the children as well and knew it would be a miracle if he could get them to separate from the children.

Batman and Robin had broken into Vlad Masters Hotel because they found something that was extremely similar to Lazarus water as Damian looks around he ends up in the bed room where he finds a crib that has a sleeping baby in it underneath the crib he finds injections filled with Lazarus water and comes to the conclusion that he is experimenting on this baby. Damian decides that he needs to take her when he leave.

After creating Dani Vlads decided not to age her up and raise her himself. Vlad is using ecto injection keep her stable until he find a permanent solution.

To Long Of A Wait

Tim hates being the one most well known for business on the civilian side.

Tim and Bruce are stuck at a dinner with Vladimir Masters. Tim has no idea who he's trying to impress; the sports team merch and Gothic Castle do not go well together. The two of them are there to find evidence of the money laundering and blackmail scheme that has all signs pointing to Masters.

The plan was originally for Bruce to keep him distracted and Tim to be able to search through the office but Vladimir Masters brought his heir with him. not much is known of his heir.

Daniel Nightingale is a 17-year-old transgender male who is Vladimir Masters' godson. He grew up in a small town with Amity Park That ended up going under lockdown because of some sort of sickness. 

Tim knows that the sickness is a cover story. It was some sort of Supernatural infestation but whether Daniel's parents were in the know or not he was sent away to live with his Godfather.

Daniel has been quite nice so far even if he looks very sick. Tim doesn't doubt that Vladimir is the one forcing him to go to this dinner.

Daniel waits only a few minutes after he is done before saying he is going to the bathroom. He is not even trying to conceal the fact he's trying to get as far as he can.

Tim waits 15 minutes before announcing he is going to the washroom too. Master's tries to offer for him to lead the way but Tim just says he remembers the tour and leaves.

Tim turns into the hallway that has Vladimir Masters' work office. He's about to open the door when he hears the sound of throwing up. He waits there for a moment realizing that the bathroom Daniel is using is right beside the office. it is as far away from the dining room you can possibly go, which is probably why he used it. 

Tim hears the sound of washing hands and goes into the office. Behind him he locks the door and listens for Daniel to leave. He hears footsteps walk away.

Tim speeds quickly to the desk and looks over the files. He knows he doesn't have a lot of time especially if Daniel asks where he is. Tim doesn't find anything to concrete but he does find a couple of shady deals with an off branch of Cadmus and a few of the shader government departments. 

Tim takes a few photos and makes sure everything's in place before he walks out. He makes sure no one's in the hall and he walks back to the dining room. 

Tim goes on his phone making sure to hack into the security to corrupt the footage so that no one notices. they really should get better security Tim thinks before he hears talking. He hides behind the corner and hears is Daniel with who he assumes is a member of their staff. 

“I'm fine Trisha. it's just a little bit of morning sickness, I'm not dying” Tim can hear a little giggle at the end like they just told an inside joke

“ He shouldn't be making you go at all. You've had a very hard week." He hears a woman that he believes is Trisha start scolding Daniel.

 “It's not my first rodeo. I know what I'm doing. I have to last maybe another hour before I can get an excuse. I can last another hour.” Daniel tries to soothe Trisa.

 Tim is starting to think this is a whole lot more complicated

Bat dad meet Ghost dad

Several years earlier....

"JAAAAAAZZZZZZZZ!" Danny flew excited through the Ghost Zone with a little kid in his arms rushing past some of his former rogues as he made a B-Line for his sister that happened to be in the Zone too, currently in a deep conversation with Frostbite about something Danny hadn't cared to pay attention to long enough. But right now he had exciting news he really wanted to share with his sister. Even now as adults Danny tented to live out his childishness whenever he could especially when he and his family went into the Ghost Zone.

The Halfa came to a screeching halt as he grined brightly at his sister who looked back at him with a raised eyebrow, slightly amused at her younger brothers giddiness. "What is it Danny?"

"I got a son now!" Danny declared happily holding up a young ghost teen by the armpits into his sisters face.

The 'son' in Danny's hands stared at Jazz blinking owlishly as if the teen boy still needed a moment to catch up with what was going on and Jazz blinked back at the ghost and then at Danny. That was not a child but a teen ghost. Going by the size the kid was probably around 14 or 15 and he looked very much traumatised and Jazz could not tell if that was because of Danny or because of how the teen possible died.

"Danny what did you-" Her brother did not let her finish her question as he started rambling excitedly.

"He is a baby ghost Jazz! Look how young he is! I found him floating around aimlessly, his hunt hasn't even fully formed yet and when i picked him up there was that instant connection! You know the same-"

"Danny."

"I have with Clockwork and Pandora! I instantly knew he was mine! Mine to protect! Mine to guide! When I saw him I swear I just knew, I ghost adopted him the moment I made contact! He is family Jazz-"

"Danny."

"I just know he belongs with us! Look at him and tell me he doesn't have Fenton charms! I am sure Dan and Dani will love him too! He is such a cute little ghost! There is so much I can teach him! I will be the best dad ever to this wonderful little baby ghost! And-"

"Daniel William James Fenton!"

Danny bite his tongue instantly silenced when Jazz pulled out the full name call. Both him and the teen in his arms stared at her a bit shell shocked and in that moment Jazz couldn't help but hide a small amused smile at how similar Danny and the teen in his arms looked when they stared at her.

"Did you explain any of this to him?" She indicated to the teen, who's name she by the way still didn't know. Danny at least had the curtesy to look a little ashamed as Jazz pointed that out and let go of the teen so they could float on their own. She sighed with a fond smile before looking at the teen that looked a bit unsure between her and Danny now.

"What's your name?" She asked them with a friendly and encouraging smile.

"Jason...."

Current time...

Jason was in a little bit of a predicament. Originally he really thought he never would end up in this kind of situation espacially since he didn't think he would patch up things with Bruce any time soon. But we'll here he was...

Life liked proofing him wrong.

Like with he fact that Jason could use a ghost wail in dire situation. And that something like that would naturally call his ghost dad onto the scene since he collapsed after it.

And like with how he woke up in the bat caves med bay with both Danny and Bruce standing over him and glaring at each other. Or at least he thought they were glaring at each other that looked like a pretty annoyed stare in his eyes from Danny and Bruce's jaw was really tense from what was visible and not covered by his cowl.

So all Jason could do was endure at the moment. Aaaaand refuse to make eye contact with any of his present siblings. Mainly Dick because he wasn't sure how to interpret the others' smiles. For a moment Jason wondered if he could hide out in his ghost-dad's castle in the Ghost Zone for a while until whatever storm was brewing with Bruce was over.

There was also a moment in which Jason wondered if there could have been anything done to avoid this... confrontation(?). Before feeling the need to face palm because his Aunt that sort of has been giving him free therapy told him repeatedly that communication was key. He never regretted not listening to her more than he was right now.

To be fair. Communication with Bruce espacially hadn't been his strong suit for a while now before and after his death.

"So you are his Bat-Dad?" Jason did not like the way Danny, his ghost dad was using the word 'dad' right now. Oh good was he trying to challenge Bruce?

"And you are his Ghost-Dad?" Bruce grunted, oh now Jason was sure Bruce was giving Danny a glare, and Danny was getting that protective look in his eyes Jason was all to familiar with from his time as a dead baby ghost.

He groaned loudly sinking lower onto the medbed. Why did these things always have to happen to him? At least he was lucky that his Ghost Aunt and Uncle didn't show up too.

*Ellie, pops out of nowhere to slam and pin Damian to a wall after overhearing him badmouth Danny to Jon behind his back once he walked off with Duke after being introduced*

Ellie: Take it back! Take it back now you snobby S.O.B.! You take back what you said about my brother! Or I'll eat your FiLtHy, ROTTEN SOUL!

*Damian, slack against the wall and heart pounding as he scowls while blushing furiously*

Ooh babies in cluster of cores! I can’t wait to see Jason and Roy with a baby ghost. Dani explaining ghost things like they are obvious while the boys panic at invisible baby.

They rushed to the hospital. It would have been faster as heroes, but they needed a legal claim over the baby and Dani in case the alien did not wake.

Thankfully, Babs is smart enough to send her father as a police escort. It's not as fast as Roy would have liked, but it's still faster than following the normal speeding limits. When they arrive, it takes a moment to get past the security that Waynes has set up for the aliens and even longer for them to be called back into the room holding the eggs.

It's a guess as to what works to incubate them. They tried keeping them warm and close to the alien—Danny—whose hand was always resting on his cluster. Dani makes a small noise of pain when she sees her father, but her eyes lock on a bundle of blankets that a nurse is holding.

Roy sets her down, watching her eyes glow strangely as she slowly walks towards her sibling, almost as if in a trance. The nurse kneels down so she can see the newborn infant.

The two heroes don't dare move too close, but they strain their heads as Dani starts whispering to the baby in a strange language. They can see the child is small and wrinkly, curled up with a tiny fist under their left cheek. The baby has a soft puff of black hair, but it's not enough to cover their hold head.

Roy thinks back to when Lian was born. She was bald and looked like a raisin, but she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. This alien child is a close second.

"This is my baby brother. His name is Dan." Dani says after a moment, pressing glowing lips on the baby's forehead. The infant jerks his head in her direction in that newborn movement where his body is not strong enough to move correctly. His hair flashes a little into a baby flame that flickers before it settles back into hair strands.

Dani coos, "He's a fire core. Dad will be so happy when he wakes...."

Danny's heart monitor spikes as if he could hear them before it settles back into a soft beeping. Jason crosses the room, kneeling before the little girl, and softens his voice. "Dan, huh? That's a theme I'm picking up?"

Roy realizes Jason is using the voice he reserves for scared civilians, usually for children. He knows that his asking about the baby is the only thing keeping Dani from bursting into tears.

It's a sad sight. Her eyes are water, nurse is still holding her tiny arms in proper position with her comatose father not too far from her. Roy is struck by how small she is. How lost she must be.

A refugee escaping not only a country but an entire world of discrimination.

She likely thinks she needs to step up for her baby brother, but Roy won't allow her to believe she can't be a child. They are more than willing to support both children while Danny slumbers.

"It's tradition to include the parent's name in the child's," Dani says slowly, looking at her brother with a few tears rolling down her face. "Dad and I talked about baby names before the bombs....What if Dad never wakes up?"

"Oh, sweetie." Jason places a hand on her small shoulder, mindful of the tiny sleeping infant in her hold. "He will be so excited to meet Dan when he wakes. We'll wait for him, okay?"

The nurse takes the baby back, allowing Jason to wrap the girl into his arms. Roy quickly adds to the embrace and lets out a soft oof as Lian slams into his back, joining in on the hug. "Everything will be alright."

Dani bursts into sobs, shaking in place as she clings to them. There is a wave of power coming off her- ectoplasm- but nothing happens besides the soft light. The nurse backs away anyway, unsure how her abilities will affect the baby.

No one really knows how to treat Indigenous Daxamites, much less something as delicate as an infant.

"I miss home. I miss my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, and my Dad." Dani babbles through her tears. "I didn't want to leave, but Dad said the cores weren't safe."

"Oh, sweetie. You've been so brave," Roy tells her, blinking his own tears out of his eyes. He knows he should not be grateful for it, but the knowledge that Lian may not have been with them had these two not lost everything. It's a tough pill to swallow, but Roy knows himself well enough to realize he's pretty selfish.

He opens his mouth to say something else when another light pulse flashes through the room. It does not come from Dani. It comes from one of the cores under Danny's protective hand.

The nurse gasps. She rushes over to carefully put Dan in a crib and slams the call button on her lanyard. "I need support in room 209. Delivery underway."

The light is pulsing now while a hauntingly beautiful hum fills the air. Almost like a lullaby, the humming grows louder and louder as the pulsing increases, and Roy doesn't need to be told that it's Danny's voice they are hearing.

Dani once said her father liked to hum to his cluster when they visited her sleeping father, and though she attempted to, she claimed her humming wasn't working—that it wasn't leaving a mark. He understands now what she meant.

The nurses rush into the room, with Tim in a suit not far behind. The Drake Hospital was ordered to report any changes to the cores to the young CEO, meaning he was able to rush over from the conference room he recently turned into a makeshift office to stay near Danny.

He gestures for the group to leave. The core has been removed from under Danny's hand, expanding like a balloon blown up. The crew moved it to another wheeled scribe, carefully recording everything happening. "They need space. The last hatch took hours and-"

"No need. Danika is here," Dani cuts him off, rubbing at her cheeks as the core makes a loud and aggressive cracking before the outer shell shatters like glass. In the center of the scribe is a squirming newborn that scrunched up her nose before letting out a cry. The medical crew descends on her to check her up in seconds while someone rushes out to get a new scribe. One without all the frozen shards. "She's an ice core like Dad, so her birth is easier."

Tim stares at the baby and then at Dani, with apparent questions in his eyes, but he has enough tack to not voice any of them. " A baby sister this time. Are you excited?"

Dani smiles, weak and watery but genuine. "Yeah."

Roy lets out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. For a second, he thought Dani would resent her cluster siblings for forcing them on the run. He's glad that's not an issue.

"Come on, Sweetheart," Jason says, picking up Dani and placing her on his hip. "Let's give the doctors space to check over Danika, and then you can meet your new sister."

"I want to see the babies too!" Lian shouts, tugging on Roy's arm. The redhead also picks her up, tapping her nose in the same motion. "Once the doctors say it's okay, you can meet the babies too."

Tim leads them out, but his eyes track Roy and Jason's every movement with an approving light, which makes Roy fluster enough to quickly turn his gaze away. He accidentally locks gazes with one glowing green eye, watching them from the corner of his eye.

He nearly drops his daughter. "He's awake!"

"Danny!" Dani yells, throwing herself out of Jason's hold to tumble her way to her father. The man's eyes shift down to her before they crinkle at the edges, and he carefully lifts his hand off his cluster to offer it to her in a hug.

She wastes no time climbing onto the bed, sobbing much harder and louder than before as Danny speaks in that strange but musical-sounding language. Dani clings to his chest, sobbing into it as the man carefully pets her hair in an attempt to calm her down.

He seems too weak to move about, but Roy is again struck by the alien's strength. This was a man who not only got his children out of a hostile environment and saved a stranger's child but also managed to find the willpower to comfort his daughter after a three-month coma.

"Everything will be alright," Jason repeats at his elbow, his voice somewhat watery. Roy believes him one hundred percent, even if they are still waiting for the Indigenous Daxamites to be approved for asylum on Earth.

He feels his daughter lean her head on his shoulder and Jason's warm hand on his other arm. The medical staff clears the two infants, and his hero is awake.

All is right with the world. They will ensure that the world is safe for the rest of the cluster. Danny will be able to raise his children in a secure environment. Roy swore on it.

Ok so here’s my thoughts GIW fucked up and Danny and Vlad can’t stay ( also Ellie and Dan needed to be in an incubator who’s names is Danny, yes I know this misunderstanding in dc X dp is overused but I DON’T CARE) and end up into Dc world but more  specifically Gotham and Vlad still doing all his shady business stuff and with Danny dealing with pregnancy hormones and got protective over Ellie and Dan (and with Vlad getting overprotective over all of them) and Vlad moves than all into the manor next to you’ll never guess what Wyane manor! And in classic Batfam fashion they misunderstanding things

Now to the vampire misunderstanding! So i haven’t mentioned that in the DC world the green of DP world looks red so it looks like it’s blood so ✨VAMPIRE✨ and with Vlad being his vampire looking ass it’s not really surprising for them to think his a vampire and for Danny it looks like Vlad turn Danny into a vampire and is got pregnant it looks really bad for Vlad LOL

And Now for what Danny looks like, So the thing that happened makes more of Danny ghost side show more so he still has black hair but does have white hair like this

And of course he got to have the dead anime mom hair style

And this is what I’m thinking he’s wearing

(And yes he’s in a nightgown because he’s a bad bitch and because I said so) and with that and his other “symptoms” ( Needing to drink ecto that looks like blood, not really leaving the manor because of Vlad being protective)

they think Vlad turn Danny in a vampire or well a halfling for now ( well there right about the half part just wrong species) and that’s all for now go eat the rich my sisters, brothers and siblings of the Fea!

Each of the siblings having to incubate their sibs/now children, I wanted to draw a what if with each of the Dannies. Kinda like bad Fenton parents and the end result is that the other two end up in their cores and need to be incubated and are now being raised by the parent/incubator, in this scenario Jazz also doesn't make it out alive.

Jason has like just arrived back to Gotham, caused chaos in the underbelly due to well, 8 heads in a duffle bag, and is just starting his takeover of Crime Alley. It's going good, great even! And then he busts some sort of gang or smuggling ring run by people in white suits and there's... holy shit why do these four toddlers have Lazarus eyes?!

Is that a lab?! And Lazarus waters?! Jason might be a bit mad but he's not an asshole, he's not going to just leave these kids here to the streets. He can't just take them to the Batclan either, and as much as he begrudgingly trusts Talia, he sure as fuck doesn't trust Ras. Who knows what he'd do to four... what are they, pit-kids?

Now he's juggling his whole revenge-thing, running a criminal empire, taking over Gotham's underbelly, and being a single dad. At least the goonion seems to be down for helping, seeing as he's making Crime Alley safer...? .... Fuck he needs some proper sleep
