I found out about Ironman triathlons in 2004, and the idea was incredible: to cover the distance of 140.6 miles in one day. It seemed like a superhuman feat, making me want to do one. With the help of a coach, fellow athletes, and my family, I completed Ironman Arizona in 2007 - an experience I will never forget! Whenever people hear what I've done, they often ask, 'How did you do it?' My answer is always this: the first step is wanting it badly enough, and the second step is making the choice that you are going to train every day despite any fear or roadblocks that stand in your way. If you take these two steps, then you can achieve anything! My next goal... Gravel Cycling... Another adventure at our Lake Pleasant Open Water Swim. It was great to see Cheryl after the Vol State 500k (yes, she is a complete badass) I saw Ralph, but didn’t get a picture. Another inspiration for me! 70+ and still crushing it! The company was nice Foster and Scott joined us. We are trying to recruit Foster into becoming a cyclist and triathlete. He is looking for a bike, so I think we are having some success. We missed Tammy and Patrick. Both on vacation enjoying cooler temperatures. The actual wasn’t so inspiring. I am excited about my new helmet from Bicycle Ranch. Did you know you should get a new helmet every 3 years? If you live in a hot place like AZ you might need one sooner because the plastic breaks down. I love how my new helmet has a spot for a light.
