SFW Alphabet - Ayatsuji Yukito
A/N: I hope this is like an apology to the Anons who requested with him…and warn me if I forgot a letter...the letter D has a personal hc....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
We can say that Ayatsuji's way of showing affection is indirect: He brags about you. He doesn't do it in front of you, but he does find a smart, understated way to brag about you no matter the situation.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
You can be his friend and just not know it. He acts in a neutral and sometimes irritating way, you will only enter the list of people who have already been ''insulted'' by Ayatsuji (note: the first person on the list is Tsujimura…..), but a simple way to know that you are really a friend to him is to remember if one day he showed you his collection of dolls.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
He isn't clingy....or he is ? When can say 'sometimes'. He would usually cuddle while facing you, with a tight hug around you while he stroke your hair
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
Growing up on his own means he knows everything about cleaning and cooking, so he's sure to help with a thousand things.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
It depends on the reason, but in general he would be calm, direct and decided. Unfortunately he would not accept explanation, nor tears, he would just walk away.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
He's in no rush, as he believes you'd be gone before you two even thought about it due to his ability and his high-risk job. He is neither ashamed nor afraid of this matter and sincerely believes that getting married would not change their normal relationship much, although calling you wife/husband will be a great satisfaction for him.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Make no mistake: He treats you like a doll, but not like a child. Ayatsuji may appear hostile but he would never hurt anyone other than the targets he is sent to investigate. He tries his best to get you to distance yourself from his work in the Special Division for Unusual Powers, especially if you're sensitive. He is always there to look into his eyes and comfort you in the best possible way.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
The main times he hugs you is when he finally comes home after weeks at the office. He considers hugs a more intimate gesture so only in private will he hug you but his hugs are firm and comfortable, one hand cradles your back while the other strokes the back of your head.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
Ayatsuji is someone who has rarely been in relationships due to various circumstances, and for him to trust his partner 100% to say such a sentence will take time. Although if you say it first he will say it back.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
Jealous ? Never. He's protective but when jealous ? No, He might get annoyed when ignorant people who know you're his partner flirt with you because they are making you uncomfortable, But nothing more than that.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Whether on the lips or a simple peck, his kisses are slow and sometimes give you goosebumps at how soft they are. He pretends he doesn't care about kisses, but he often takes you by surprise (a VERY good surprise…) and his favorite places are your hands and forehead
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
Totally indifferent?…Not that he's bad with kids, but he pretends he definitely doesn't want to be around. it's even funny to see you getting along with the little ones and he just looks on with a neutral expression (even with a little girl grabbing his leg to look at the doll he usually carries with him)
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
He wakes up much earlier than you can imagine, so mornings with him are rare but when they do they are still as calm as night but he teases you for no reason at all (Or maybe because of the fact that your raspy voice and mind, still, messed up is fun for him)
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Silent and cozy nights, where you lie on his chest and he strokes your head. He is often the last to sleep, lost in thought though his coronation plays in a quiet, slow rhythm.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
He is a mysterious person, like many skill users in Yokohama. There is no day and time, he can suddenly open up to you, and say many and few words, fast and slow information, surprising and normal. It can even look like a puzzle, and you're the only person who has more pieces.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
His eyes are always on you, even when you think he's busy, he just watches everything: what you like to do, eat, wear, what your habits are, what you murmured....
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
The first time you cried in front of him. Yes, it's strange but for him it was like the 'first time you showed who you really are', he was serious the whole time but the way his words were firm-calm and without a hint of a flinch, it made your tears stop for a minute.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
When I said he always keeps an eye on you, I also meant protecting you, especially since this guy has enemies that easily kill a civilian; Although you are also under observation by the Special Division secretly…
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
He would put a lot of effort into it. Dates, anniversaries and gifts. He value things, even if they are small and he would put all his effort in making you happy.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
I would say smoking, but there's also something better to say: Answers. He is the master of responding in a bad way/sarcastically which can, and will, get on your nerves. You'll just start to understand Tsujimura-
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
He has more to worry about than that, and the mf know he is hot-
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
He's more on the ''logical'' side and not sentimental, but Ayatsuji knows that you've become something else for him. And he can certainly say that longing or the feeling of missing something is something horrible for all beings
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
When you first started living at his house, HE DOESN'T SMOKE, and I mean NEVER, especially if you're allergic or hate the smell. He can even go on the porch, close the door and smoke a pipe, but the last thing he will do is smoke inside the house
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
Liars and people with a childish/immature mind. He's not usually a social person but when he become close to someone he want them to be honest with him
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
He doesn't usually sleep much given his day-to-day, but he likes to sleep in the early hours of the morning, when everything calms down, usually from 3 am to 6 am

Arashiyama’s Pet Peeve
Pairing: Gen Summary: Arashiyama is that guy—polished, popular, humble, and effortlessly charming—so the idea that he has this one glaring pet peeve (his statue) feels refreshing. Then there’s Osamu who, despite being so unassuming, can unintentionally put someone like Arashiyama in an awkward spot just by saying something as innocent as “It’s nice, let me take a picture.” Then, everyone catches a little crack in his otherwise flawless persona. Note: If you buy the World Trigger 2025 calendar, you can see a bead of sweat trickling from Arashiyama’s cheek. Wow. He must’ve hated that statue.
Tumblr media
Osamu’s life had taken some unexpected turns since joining Border. Defending Mikado City was one thing, but becoming part of Border’s PR efforts? That was something else entirely.
It had started after his impromptu appearance at the press conference where he, battered and bruised, revealed Border’s away mission to get the abducted C-rank trainees. The broadcast had gone viral, with clips replayed endlessly on local TV and snippets shared online. Suddenly, Osamu was that guy from Border who talked on TV. It was enough recognition to earn a few glances in public—awkward for someone who’d rather blend into the background.
Then again, there’s also his heroics during the attack at the school where he and Arashiyama’s younger siblings—his juniors at the school—went to. This led to Arashiyama Squad taking a special interest in him—Kitora with her usual sharp critiques, Tokieda offering advice during training sessions, and Arashiyama himself feeling grateful and proud of him. So when Netsuki, the head of PR, decided to rope Osamu into a TV segment alongside Arashiyama Squad, no one was surprised.
When Osamu arrived at Border’s PR office floor for the first time, though, the first thing to catch his eye wasn’t the bustling office or the state-of-the-art equipment.
It was the statue.
He’s immediately greeted by the sight of the infamous 1:1 replica statue of Arashiyama. It’s towering, majestic, and so lifelike that for a second, Osamu almost greets it with a bow.
“What… is this?” he murmurs, his glasses slipping down his nose.
“Ah, the statue,” Tokieda chimes in cheerfully, appearing out of nowhere. “Impressive, right?”
“It’s… amazing,” Osamu says honestly, but his face is a picture of awkward sincerity, beads of sweat forming on his temple.
“That’s one way to describe it,” Kitora mutters, crossing her arms and eyeing the statue with disdain.
Arashiyama arrives just in time to catch the exchange, his usual warm smile slipping for a fraction of a second. “It’s… something, isn’t it? They thought it’d boost morale,” he says, his tone so polite it’s painful.
Tokieda laughs. “You mean Netsuki-san thought it’d boost his idea of morale.”
To lighten the awkwardness, Osamu hesitantly says, “I think it’s… nice. Can I take a picture?”
Arashiyama blinks in disbelief, his forced grin twitching as if held together by sheer willpower. “You’d really want that?”
Tokieda, ever the instigator, immediately declares, “Oh, if Mikumo-kun’s taking a picture, we’re all doing it!” He drags Kitora, Ayatsuji, and Satori into the frame, pulling out his phone for a group selfie.
Kitora grumbles but doesn’t resist, standing stiffly next to Osamu. Ayatsuji, ever calm, smiles politely, while Satori flashes a double peace sign. Tokieda poses, and Osamu stands there awkwardly in the center of it all, glasses catching a glare from the overhead lights.
And Arashiyama? He stands right next to his statue, trying not to look too mortified as Tokieda clicks the picture.
“Perfect!” Tokieda declares.
“Delete it,” Kitora says flatly.
“Absolutely not,” he replies, already setting it as his phone wallpaper.
The segment filming goes off without a hitch, with Arashiyama effortlessly charming the crew, Kitora giving curt but impressive answers, and Osamu… well, Osamu doing his best. As usual, his modesty and straightforwardness win over the staff, who all agree, “He’s so genuine—just like the Arashiyama Squad!”
Back at HQ, Tokieda sends the group selfie to Netsuki as a “bonus.” It’s printed and framed the next day, placed right next to the statue for everyone to see.
Arashiyama sighs every time he walks past it, but when he notices Osamu sneaking a glance at the photo with a small, almost invisible smile, he decides it might not be that bad.

gaiden anon, i can only fall to my knees and pray that perhaps a monkey-shaped tsukimono whispers in your ear to look at tumblr and read this, but i just had a few more thoughts about how connected canon bsd really is to gaiden:
firstly, Agatha Christie and her ability, “then there were none.” and you might look quizzically at me and think, “what the ever-loving hell does she of all people have to do with a few random japanese ability users?” at which point, i will curl my fist into a point and start madly gesturing at “and then there were none.” tourists on an island. killed one by one by someone there. sound familiar? if not, i’ll enlighten you—that’s exactly the same mystery as the reigo island serial murders case. am i reaching far and assuming they’re connected at all when it could have been a matter of Asagiri borrowing the plot of a mystery novel to fill in details or even a simple coincidence? absolutely. do i care? no. and until proven otherwise, i will believe that Tsujimura and Christie are deeper connected in a way we don’t yet know.
secondly, Kyougoku. more importantly, Kyougoku and his identity as Puzzlemaker, and how before he tarnished his own reputation, he visited the ADA office and was locked in a building with Tanizaki. that feels important. and the architect reminds me a little of Fyodor himself, which i just wanted to add in but given how Ayatsuji is familiar with the ADA and even met one of their agents (and i think the government knows that too?), it seems a lot more likely that Ango or some other high-up entity would consider Ayatsuji as a weapon during the vampire incident.
i’m crazy but i’m free.
(i’m not free.)

How do u think the bsd men would react if u randomly said " Stop that your turning me on... " When they do something cute during a conversation ?
Tumblr media
The flustered ones:
How could you say something like that so easily, how bold do you want to be? Isn’t it embarrassing? And what do you mean it turns you on? All they did was being themselves…!
Atsushi, Poe, Eckleburg
The confused ones:
Huh? You mean them? What? What exactly did they do to make you.. uhhh.. feel that way? Are you sure it isn’t just a stomach ache? What?
Akutagawa, Rimbaud, Bram, Oda
The stunned ones:
They are a little awkward, like, okay… so what now. Should they keep doing exactly that or what exactly is it that you want them to do? Also the initial shock was too much to handle.
Fyodor, sigma, kunikida, Nathaniel, Tachihara
They laugh it off:
Haha! You are funny, it turns you on? Man, what are you, a high school student? ha-haha… (secretly actually the flustered type)
Ranpo, jouno, Mushitaro, Shibusawa (or maybe the one below this)
Flirting back:
Ohh, is that so? My my, I didn’t expect you to be so direct about it! You find me quite endearing huh? Shall I keep doing it for you then, sweetheart?
Dazai, Nikolai, Mark, Ayatsuji
The ones who ignore it:
They just simply ignore your comment. Because they didn’t want to hear it, don’t know how to respond, or is too flustered and want to change the subject.
Fukuzawa, Ango, Tetcho

I'VE ACTUALLY THOUGHT OUT EXACTLY HOW I THINK THE GAIDEN CHARACTERS SHOULD APPEAR IN THE MAIN MANGA IN DETAIL BECAUSE I'M SO ABNORMAL ABOUT THEM AND BASICALLY. Since Tsujimura's mother is mentioned as being the assistant director, and since Taneda is currently in a coma, it makes complete sense that she's currently running the entire Special Division from the shadows while the main director is incapacitated. And since it seems like she orchestrated Tsujimura's entire life to set her up for success in her footsteps (which is really sad actually but that's a different topic) (if you want to hear me talk about how tragic Tsujimura is to me though then just ask and I'll appear in your inbox with an incoherent essay), it also makes sense that she would have plans for Tsujimura now. So if it's been a year, her shadow ability might have grown back significantly, and the Special Division is probably using her more frequently than they did before. So with the arrival of the DOA, they need more helping hands, so she's probably pulling all-nighter after all-nighter trying to keep up. Since the vampire outbreak is dangerous, and so is Ayatsuji, I wouldn't be surprised if the Special Division moved him back into containment (it was mentioned that he was kept in a sort of jail before being let out into his office in the light novel). They're probably also making him work on the DOA case from behind bars, but I imagine it's proving to be difficult even for him because of the Book and stuff. But since it seems like the last 40-ish manga chapters have all occurred within the span of like 2 weeks, it's not surprising that Ayatsuji hasn't been able to crack the DOA case yet, considering how long he spent on Kyougoku. But basically. I think Tsujimura will show up eventually at the airport or something, Tsujimura's mother will be mentioned as being the current acting director, and, if we're lucky, the Special Division will whack out Ayatsuji to obliterate the DOA. But that would be too easy of an ending, so maybe Asagiri decided to vampirize Ayatsuji or something, and maybe the Special Division is using that as an opportunity to see how the vampiric virus affects people. So then that gives the Special Division more incentive to rescue Dazai and Aya + Bram, so that Dazai could nullify Bram's ability, thus freeing Ayatsuji and allowing him to bring things to an end. But Asagiri likes twists, so maybe it'll then be revealed that Fyodor is somehow immune to accidental deaths or something, and then there'll be some singularity tomfoolery, and maybe there'll be another moment where Ango explains singularities to people (and another opportunity for Tsujimura to learn about singularities). Sorry this is so long and rambly, but basically there's SO MUCH potential for Gaiden characters in the current timeline, but it's hard to predict exactly how their entrance will play out. Since Kyougoku is still haunting Ayatsuji, it's possible that Asagiri might whack out something like "Kyougoku used to work for the DOA", since it was mentioned in the light novel that Kyougoku used to collaborate with various agencies on tough cases before breaking away and deciding to go on an epic journey to achieve immortality through memery. Also wait I just remembered, there's that whole Interlude thing where Kyougoku reflects on his memories from the womb, which is an absolutely bizarre thing to include, and seems out-of-place from the rest of the light novel. Maybe he's somehow also related to the Book? Kyougoku would've died about a year and a half before the main manga, and Sigma appeared three years ago, so maybe Kyougoku had a hand in creating Sigma as someone to parallel himself? If I remember correctly, Sigma appeared alone in a desert with a train ticket (?) and earrings, which is really specific, and seems like the sort of elaborate plot Kyougoku would set up, considering the guy's love of symbolism and overarching themes. So what if Kyougoku had the Book first and created Sigma from it? (1/2, I'm so sorry for how long this is :'D)
my god. this is a lot of words /pos
so i haven’t actually read this whole message through yet and instead i plan on writing exactly how i feel reading specific sentences so. here we go!!’
I THOUGHT SO TOO!! it makes a lot of sense too because her ability is considered combat oriented, and like i mentioned before, it should hypothetically be grown back to size and completely free from Another’s persecution by now. i guess the big question is if Tsujimura-san will give the shadow back to guard Tsujimura, which would reveal she was alive, or she’d keep it to herself. obvi there are other options, like sticking it on someone else (say, Ayatsuji, who does need physical protection, or even Ango, who might have more enemies than she herself), but those two are what i think is most likely…
please tell me about how sad Tsujimura’s life is oh my god not a single person i know has read gaiden (for good reason GIVE US AN OFFICIAL TRANSLATION) and i would love nothing more than to brainrot with someone over it .. the whole, “i called my maid ‘mom’ and i wanted my mother to get angry, to fire her, to anything, but she didn’t even care, and that’s what hurt me the most” made me go OOOOOGHHHHHHH… OUCHHHHH… i’m summoning you, o divine Another Anon, to rant to me once again…
yeah, it’s def unlikely to me she’s just there and not doing anything, i myself have been wondering how she’s supporting the division, especially since Taneda, if anything, is her replacement rather than her being his secondary self. it would be cool if he ended up being locked in with Tsujimura-san, right? as far as security goes, that’s damn near the tightest place one can get.
also, it’s strange to me how nobody knows about Ayatsuji. they mention the ADA multiple times, but the ADA never talk about him. is the government keeping the secret on purpose? do people know and just feel removed enough considering they’re in different cities to ignore it?? but Ayatsuji would be a massive help to them, given his almost-Ranpo-level brains, so… it’s always been a source of confusion. at the least, wouldn’t Fukuchi know about him and take some precautionary measures, as someone who worked for the government and should therefore be aware of their literal number one danger?
similarly, Ayatsuji doesn’t exactly work for the government, so does that mean he knew the ADA weren’t terrorists…? to begin with, gaiden is a novel that exists because the fans wanted it to, and Asagiri only began writing after Tsujimura reached out to him, so it’s completely possible that gaiden and canon are two entirely separate entities to him, but i really don’t want it to be that way .. the intense urge to gatekeep Kyougoku and also share him to the world is wild….
thinking of Another and Crime and Punishment mingling together… the theories on CaP being unable to work on ability-users is very interesting, especially due to the evidence it has to back it up, and while Another does, thinking of how “accidental death” in this situation could be a synonym for “punishment” and thus negated by Fyodor because he and “punishment” are close friends … don’t mind me as i turn into a puddle on the floor….
without the context of Another, “receive immortality through memery” is a really absurd sentence, and i love it. BUT. Kyougoku potentially knowing Fyodor is interesting indeed… it’s so funny that his tsukimono is just haunting Ayatsuji… actually, every time i write about Ayatsuji, i also include Kyougoku saying random snarky things to him while he’s just living his life and him replying out loud knowing damn well nobody else can see it. hell, the man watches him when he’s sleeping, i wouldn’t put but past him to whisper absolutely obscene things into Ayatsuji’s ear in the middle of work just for fun, but we’re getting off topic.
the prospect of Sigma being a familiar spirit is actually very interesting and i haven’t it considered before, but hearing you now… hoho… i had always assumed Kyougoku’s little soliloquy a setup for the reader to understand his motives, but Asagiri is definitely the sort of person to do that only for a few years later to say, “you know this thing nobody read? it’s actually incredibly necessary to the lore haha.” that being said, gaiden’s afterword was a little unusual- most of the time Asagiri ends things with, “let us meet again in the next novel,” or “i hope you’re looking forward to what the future holds” or something like that, but gaiden was more like, “so here’s why i wrote this book also DAMN i got anxiety writing it,” so i dunno, i just want more gaiden content…..
now, onto the next rant you sent me
