So, my rheumatologist appointment yesterday was kind of a nothing event. She said from my last round of blood tests it looks like my inflammation is improving (I disagree, plus the inflammation is STILL THERE, not gone???) and that the diagnosis is likely fibromyalgia. She also based that on the ultrasound of my hand and wrist, which came back fine (because of course they did – it's my larger joints that are the issue, which she was told). I pressed the issue and she said ok, we can order an MRI for your lower back and SI joints and see if it's axial spondyloathritis that way; not sure why she didn't she do that before, when she's the one who suggested AxSpA in the first place. She also asked me if I was up for seeing a psychologist so the pain doesn't impact my mental health too much and I was like what, in this economy?

All in all, a solid 15 minutes of me reporting my pain is worsening, having that shrugged off and being told "it's probably just fibro which is really good" (?!?), then having to pay $248. Cooool.

Edit: Oh, and when she was willing to leave it at "just fibro" she said we can follow up in 6 months, but when I pushed for the MRI she was like ok, we'll follow up in 2 months. Just goes to show how little these people care about ongoing care for fibromyalgia (which is what I think I most likely have, but I'm not just gonna avoid ruling in / out a potential inflammatory disorder of the spine, am I?)
