The Dispossessed (Ursula Le Guin) - technically cheating because I read about 30% of this last year

After the People Lights Have Gone Off (Stephen Graham Jones) - horror short story collection that's I go "oh I should read that" every time I remember it's on my list

The Haunting of Hill House (Shirley Jackson) - should be a quick and fun read, I enjoyed the tv show adaptation and have been meaning to read the book ever since. when I realized it was the same author as "The Lottery" I was like whoaaaa

The Gnostic Gospels (Elaine Pagels) - I read most of her book on the concept of the devil. I have a passing familiarity with gnosticism and its ideas and this feels like a good academic source to start with book-wise for some more history.

The Master and Margarita (Mikhail Bulgakov) - I think this is my primary Serious Literary Fiction(tm) choice for the year.

Strange Practice (Vivian Shaw) - seems like a fun little urban fantasy.

Orlando (Virginia Woolf) - my mom got me a copy of this when I was 12 or so and I bounced off of it HARD. so I would like to try it again as an adult.

Kabbalah (Gershom Scholem) - one of my few physical copies this year probably! I bought this at a used bookstore in 2022 I think, maybe early 2023.

Moths, Myths, and Mosquitoes: The Eccentric Life of Harrison G. Dyar, Jr. (Marc Epstein) - was mentioned on the Astonishing Legends podcast at some point? seems like a guy of all time

Just wanted to make something for the AU because I love it with all my heart. Like, I love Sun and Moon in this, the plot, too. It's just amazing, dude. Can't wait to see how the story goes!!

My rambling under the cut-

First of all, I just wanna apologize for how long it took me to finish this qwq

I'm no professional animator and I made a ton of mistakes in the process of making this-

I've always liked crime/detective shows since I was little so I think that kind of explains why I love this AU so much XD

I tried to get as much of the AU into the animation as possible. There are also some unintentional and intentional references to the comic Meg made last year (ex. Sun tugging on his glove, etc.)

When I said I was gonna 'fix' older frames I actually meant "redraw almost the entire animation". Why? My style has changed a lot ever since I started this project. The first half looked so poorly drawn compared to the second half, and there were some scenes that I didn't like or didn't make sense.

I still have the old frames saved and oh boy... you CAN see the big difference and improvement... there are some I posted here some time ago that do not appear in this now. There are some scenes I did leave there, I think it's noticeable which ones because of the style

Ra's al Ghul and Boy

He had been Ra's first child before he had any other child of his own blood. Had been a boy he found while on his travels, he and him spoke not the same language. So I just called the boy, Wulid which means Boy. and took him with him. + Danny wasn't sure; it was while on the hunt for a ghost group that traveled in the past to help their past self conquer better. But here he is with that old man, who was the enemy of that ghost alive self too. Danny was happy as he told him he would help him. That led to him getting trained and mentored by the old man who joined him in the fights. + Ra was using a Tabar (axe) during the battle, while the boy stayed back with a dagge, or bow. Or he left to use his powers while fighting against the super-powered one. The boy looked very shocked as he saw how Ra was able to fight the ghosts and hurt them without a ghostly weapon. But if you bathe so much in the pit, you are able to hurt beings that aren't fully in their world or between them. +

After the old man died while fighting against that invasion, Danny too left. He told them he would capture the rest and then leave. Danny had no idea that the old man would be brought back to life by his cult. As Danny never fully meet the full group of it. + As Ra was taken out of the Lazarus Pit, he learned his student had left, thinking he had died. Maybe Ra should have told him about the pit. As he was unable to find him, the island sank, where he had his last battle. + A/N - -Yes, just think before you, Kratos and Atreus, for Ra's al Ghul and Danny. - Tabar is an old Arabic axe. - Ra was much nicer to Respawn, as he made him think of Danny. Respawn is his favorite grandchild.
