So I just called the boy, Wulid which means Boy. and took him with him. + Danny wasn't sure; it was while on the hunt for a ghost group that traveled in the past to help their past self conquer better. But here he is with that old man, who was the enemy of that ghost alive self too. Danny was happy as he told him he would help him. That led to him getting trained and mentored by the old man who joined him in the fights. + Ra was using a Tabar (axe) during the battle, while the boy stayed back with a dagge, or bow. Or he left to use his powers while fighting against the super-powered one. The boy looked very shocked as he saw how Ra was able to fight the ghosts and hurt them without a ghostly weapon. But if you bathe so much in the pit, you are able to hurt beings that aren't fully in their world or between them. +

After the old man died while fighting against that invasion, Danny too left. He told them he would capture the rest and then leave. Danny had no idea that the old man would be brought back to life by his cult. As Danny never fully meet the full group of it. + As Ra was taken out of the Lazarus Pit, he learned his student had left, thinking he had died. Maybe Ra should have told him about the pit. As he was unable to find him, the island sank, where he had his last battle. + A/N - -Yes, just think before you, Kratos and Atreus, for Ra's al Ghul and Danny. - Tabar is an old Arabic axe. - Ra was much nicer to Respawn, as he made him think of Danny. Respawn is his favorite grandchild.

Kratos: “Atreus… son… what are you doing??”

a part of god of war ragnarok that i'm so obsessed with is that the only time kratos EVER calls atreus "boy" in the game is when he is indescribably angry with him. ragnarok could've pitched into the memes that were made about his seemingly excessive use of the word towards his son in the 2018 game, but instead, they stuck to their guns and made sure we understood that it was never a joke, or a term of endearment, or a meme. but a word that kratos used instead of his son's own name in an attempt to distance himself and disrespect his son in order to remain uninvolved

kratos used "boy" to make sure his son didn't try to connect with him. "boy" was used to degrade atreus and reject his individuality. it was an attempt to distance himself, and keep atreus far, far away

and the writing ACKNOWLEDGED this. when atreus runs away, kratos shouts "BOY" and the scene lets it HANG. the scene HOLDS on it, like it's a revelation, because it is; in a way, we've just been reassured that 1. atreus has committed/is about to commit an action beyond betrayal and 2. "boy" is a term that is now only exclusively used when atreus is ABSOLUTELY FUCKED.

10. If you could banish a single trope to live at the bottom of the ocean, never to be seen again by any human eyes (or at least your own), which trope would that be?

This is just my personal preference so no shade 😅 but I really dislike when endhawks fanfics have Enji calling Hawks ‘boy.’ I cringe and click away. It feels so out of character to their canonical relationship which becomes very equal from their second meeting and only shows up once in canon. I’ve also seen other translators mention that it actually translates closer to ‘kid’ in Japanese.

Moreover, I always picture those Kratos/God of War memes BOYYYYY 😂

As far as general tropes, I don’t have hate for any specific one. I think they can all be done justice.

20. Is there anything about any one of your fics that you have been dying to discuss but haven’t had the chance to?

This one isn’t published yet, but I have an Olympics themed AU endhawks fic in the drafts called Going For Gold. I’ve written some scenes that I’m really partial to and can’t discuss with anyone because it’s too incomplete to publish anything right now. Specifically some funny scenes of Rei and Enji reminiscing on when they were young Olympians and Shoto shocked to find out his parents were wild in their youth. As well as some emotional scenes that I think will play well.

“Unless David Bowie offers. You can’t turn that down,” Rumi cut in.

Rei raised her hands in a ‘guilty as charged’ gesture.

“They probably don’t even know who David Bowie is. It was the 80s,” she said before shooting a playful glare at Enji, “You know, your father once took ten Jell-O shots in a club in a Rome-”

“Oh, don’t tell him this,” Enji protested.

“And threw up in the Trevi fountain. I had to flirt with the polizia so he wouldn’t get arrested.”

“Dad did?”

“We can talk about Budapest if you’re eager to share stories.”

“Do NOT,” Rei said threateningly.

On another note, one thing I want to discuss, but have no one to mention it to: My most popular fics are actually some of my less favorite ones 😂 IMO some of my less popular fics are objectively better written, but they are AUs (fun to write bc they give you more bandwidth for narrative storytelling, but generally less popular with readers- understandable bc as a reader I also gravitate toward canon fic over AUs)

If you’re familiar with the God of War video games, I always saw Regulus and Sirius having similarities to Kratos’s style of parenting - just without calling their kid “Boy!” (Which Kratos does in God of War 4 for most of the game, it’s a meme ).

Kratos prefers Atreus to call him father or sir. That would be Regulus. (With Sirius, probably something like, “Papa.” (?) )When it comes to discipline, it’s “do better,” (Atreus’s response:I’ll be/do better, I promise!” ). I can see that would be both of them. Kratos also becomes a really great mentor/father figure and teaches survival and life lessons alongside tough love. The mentor stuff? Sirius to a “T.” Sirius would be more patient when kids are at the age where they ask endless questions (Kratos at the end and middleish of GoW 4), Regulus might try but he’s far less patient (Kratos at the beginning of GoW 4).

I’ve not played this game but your explanation is so on point and exactly how I see them. I HC Sirius’s flock of kids all calling him papa and always asking him questions (and him loving to indulge their curiosity). He would totally mentor his kids and I can see him taking lots of interest in their education.
