Oh, I knowww, I had to scroll though a bunch while looking for the other show I might have been talking about too, it was legit such a beautiful and beautifully done story. They deserved so much more!

Actually, the actress Vivian Wu's in The Afterparty (and her daughters are played by Zoe Chao and Poppy Liu, so that's a nice little f/f family) and that made me remember Away and Mei/Lu too... Honestly, it made me a little mad we didn't get more of them even in the one season we got! But, that's nothing new, getting less than we deserved of a f/f story. :o

Watching Away on Netflix. Did someone else watch the series?

Watched the first two episodes. It's good. But still don't really know what they want to tell me with the series?

Is it a space drama? A story about families? What is it about? Hope to find out soon.

everytime i think about how tante heleen was killed off in a throwaway sentence in s&b s2 ep 1 it makes my blood boil so badly they really did no justice to inej’s character, trauma, or what she endured with the menagerie

My Jinx was missing from Season 2.

Where was the Jinx who lured enforcers into a trap, taunted them, then murdered them while laughing?

Where was the Jinx who killed a crow just because it surprised her, and just because she could, then used its feathers as bookmarks?

Where was the Jinx who massacred Firelights with no hesitation or remorse, and was so violent towards them that even Vi was shocked?

Where was the Jinx who straddled Silco and repeatedly stabbed him in the face because she thought he lied to her?

Where was the Jinx who blew enforcers to pieces on the bridge, then stalked through the bloody aftermath, mercilessly picking off survivors one by one while humming a song?

Where was the Jinx who smiled while tormenting Vi by pretending she had Caitlyn's severed head on a platter?

Where was the Jinx who tied Sevika up, hit her, and threatened to cut her other arm off just for an interrogation, then strung her upside down after she got her answer?

Where was the Jinx who smiled like a gleeful child while shooting at people and when told of all the enforcers she killed?

Where was the Jinx who, in rage and grief after losing Silco, fired a Hextech rocket directly at the Council while hearing his voice telling her to let them burn?

Where was the terrifying and threatening force of destruction I fell in love with? She appeared a little in Season 2 Act 1, then never again. Did Baby Yoda give her a personality transplant along with curing her mental illness?

Where was this girl?

Arcane S01E04

I'm sure this has been mentioned -- this clip made me think about how Heimerdinger's long life experience is contrasted against Viktor's shortened life expectancy. This conversation/framing must have made Viktor feel undervalued. I don't know if the professor's species difference means he can't identify the clear deterioration his health has undergone, or if he's just too jaded by the shorter lifespans of humans, or what, but saying a decade will pass "in the blink of an eye" is brutal to say to someone in Viktor's position.

On top of that, on this rewatch and knowing what happens later, what is at stake, the microexpressions between Viktor and Jayce masterfully reference entire conversations that have happened off screen in the time skip. The animation style is able to capture that so well. Jayce's silent concern for Viktor, bracketed with getting swept away in the council and performance of it all, can be so easy to miss.

Comparing Heimerdinger's engagement with Viktor when he's known him longer with presumably significant positive regard... To Jayce's... It's just interesting to me.

He actually looks at ease here if only for a second. I wonder if he thought he was dreaming still. Do you think Kaz Brekker, Dirtyhands, the bastard of the Barrel and the deadliest boy in Ketterdam has had dreams about waking up to Inej Ghafa beside him? I definitely do.

I actually really love this tiny Kanej moment. Inej apologies for touching him and then moves on for his sake- she doesn’t ask questions, she just lets it go. Lets him recover.

i stand with the fact that jinx didn’t die in that explosion. the pink streak of light that you’ll see as it happens? caitlyn, who used to despise jinx, holding a monkey head that looked like powder’s toy in season one as she scrolls through the archives regarding the hexgates and smiling to herself, showing the audience the location of where jinx fell and where she could find the air vents leading to the boat that appeared with no context before the episode ended? that is jinx. there is no way they decided to show that scene without any context.

“always with you, sis.”

vi will always have a place in jinx’s heart wherever she goes, even if they’re now apart. she broke the ‘cycle’ and will now live in peace where no one will know she was once a ‘jinx’.
